Abstract:
Activation of the transcription factor estrogen receptor α (ERα) and the subsequent regulation of estrogen-responsive genes play a crucial role in the development and progression of the majority of breast cancers. One gene target of ERα, growth regulation by estrogen in breast cancer 1 (GREB1), is associated with proliferation and regulation of ERα activity in estrogen-responsive breast cancer cells. The GREB1 gene encodes three distinct isoforms: GREB1a, GREB1b and GREB1c, whose molecular functions are largely unknown. Here, we investigate the role of these isoforms in regulation of ERα activity and proliferation. Interaction between GREB1 and ERα was mapped to the amino terminus shared by all GREB1 variants. Analysis of isoform-specific regulation of ERα activity suggests none of the GREB1 isoforms possess potent co-regulator activity. Exogenous expression of GREB1a resulted in elevated expression of some ER-target genes, independent of ERα activity. Despite this slight specificity of GREB1a for gene regulation, exogenous expression of either GREB1a or GREB1b resulted in decreased proliferation in both ER-positive and ER-negative breast carcinoma cell lines, demonstrating an ER-independent function of GREB1. Interestingly, we show an increase in the expression of GREB1b and GREB1c mRNA in malignant breast tissue compared to normal patient samples, suggesting a selective preference for these isoforms during malignant transformation. Together, these data suggest GREB1a has an isoform-specific function as a transcriptional regulator while all isoforms share an ER-independent activity that regulates proliferation.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
The genus Gazoryctra Hübner comprises 10 species in North America and four in northern Eurasia. The remaining diversity of North American Hepialidae is represented by four species of Sthenopis Packard, three species of Phymatopus Wallengren, and one species of Korscheltellus Börner (Nielsen et al. 2000; Grehan & Knyazev 2019). The North American distribution of Gazoryctra extends between Alaska and southern Appalachians and southern Rocky Mountains (Grehan & Mielke 2018). As with other North American Hepialidae, Gazoryctra is absent from much of the southern-central United States where there is ostensibly suitable habitat present as this genus is found in forested regions where it is believed to feed on roots or other organic matter (Schweitzer et al. 2011). This absence may be due to the lack of colonization following regression of inland seas that covered much of this region until the end of the Mesozoic (Grehan & Mielke 2018).

Abstract:
Congenital hearing impairment is a sensory disorder that is genetically highly heterogeneous. By performing exome sequencing in two families with congenital nonsyndromic profound sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), we identified autosomal dominantly inherited missense variants [p.(Asn283Ser); p.(Thr116Ile)] in GREB1L, a neural crest regulatory molecule. The p.(Thr116Ile) variant was also associated with bilateral cochlear aplasia and cochlear nerve aplasia upon temporal bone imaging, an ultra-rare phenotype previously seen in patients with de novo GREB1L variants. An important role of GREB1L in normal ear development has also been demonstrated by greb1l−/− zebrafish, which show an abnormal sensory epithelia innervation. Last, we performed a review of all disease-associated variation described in GREB1L, as it has also been implicated in renal, bladder and genital malformations. We show that the spectrum of features associated with GREB1L is broad, variable and with a high level of reduced penetrance, which is typically characteristic of neurocristopathies. So far, seven GREB1L variants (14%) have been associated with ear-related abnormalities. In conclusion, these results show that autosomal dominantly inherited variants in GREB1L cause profound SNHL. Furthermore, we provide an overview of the phenotypic spectrum associated with GREB1L variants and strengthen the evidence of the involvement of GREB1L in human hearing.

Abstract:
Dietary overlap between waterbirds and fish in many freshwater systems can lead to competition for food resources and changes in the trophic position of top predators. We used stable isotope analysis of carbon and nitrogen from egg tissues to document differences in the trophic position of breeding Red-necked Grebes ( Podiceps grisegena (Boddaert, 1783)) on wetlands with and without fish in the Aspen Parkland of Alberta, Canada. Grebes occupied higher trophic levels in the presence of fish than in their absence, suggesting that small-bodied fish in Aspen Parkland food webs may lengthen food chains in which grebes are top predators. A mixed diet of invertebrates and fishes may be adaptive for grebes in this highly variable ecosystem where fish colonize wetlands in wet years and are extirpated in dry years. Carbon analyses indicated that female grebes likely obtained resources for egg production from breeding sites and not from wintering areas, as eggs had similar δ13C values to wetland primary producers, invertebrates, and fishes.

Abstract:
Eared Grebes (Podiceps nigricollis Brehm, 1831) use saline ecosystems throughout much of their life cycle, and greater than 90% of the North American population stage during fall at two hypersaline lakes. At one of these lakes, Great Salt Lake (GSL), Utah, a commercial harvest of brine shrimp (Artemia franciscana Kellogg, 1906) cysts occurs during fall and may impact Eared Grebe populations. We used photo surveys on the other hypersaline lake, Mono Lake, California, and on the GSL, as well as aerial counts on the GSL, to describe population fluctuations of Eared Grebes staging on these lakes. The long-term (1997–2012) Eared Grebe population was 1.4 million on the GSL and 1.0 million on Mono Lake. Populations changed on GSL and Mono Lake in synchrony, indicating population regulation is likely occurring at wintering, not staging, areas and is influenced by El Niño effects. Location of Eared Grebes on the GSL was influenced by brine shrimp densities and did not overlap with concentrations of commercial harvest boats. Spatial segregation of commercial harvesters and Eared Grebes reduces negative impacts of anthropogenic disturbance on Eared Grebes. Knowledge of population changes within and among staging areas will help managers monitor long-term abundances and reduce negative impacts between Eared Grebes and commercial harvesters.

Abstract:
The infracommunities of intestinal helminths in 96 birds belonging to four species of grebes taken from lakes in Alberta were examined for patterns of species co-occurrence and relative abundance. Infracommunities were large (averages of 360–3640 worms) and complex (averages of 6.4–10.7 species). Three species of grebes (Aechmophorus occidentalis, Podiceps grisegena, P. nigricollis) had distinctive infracommunities, each characterized by a set (5–10) of frequent and numerous core helminth species, which regularly co-occurred with a consistent rank order of numbers. Infracommunities in Podiceps auritus overlapped those of the other two species of Podiceps and had few (2) core species. Most (11 of 14) core species are specialists in grebes, but only one was limited to a single host species. Most were shared among hosts, with the bulk of the population of each occurring in one host species. Sharing was particularly significant between the large, fish-eating grebes (A. occidentalis and P. grisegena) and between the smaller, mainly invertebrate-eating grebes (P. nigricollis and P. auritus). Host specificity and the pattern of exchange of helminths, mediated by the differentiated but overlapping host food habits, were important determinants of enteric helminth community structure.

Abstract:
Nalazi u Sredozemnom moru su dokumentirani za Ligursko more, Levantinsko more blizu Rodosa, s obale Sardinije i sjevernije Jonsko more južno od Messine.

Abstract:
Local wisdom in the spring has an important role in maintaining and preserving the spring in Gondang Village. The emergence of local wisdom is based on developing traditions and conservation values in the region. In 2019, Gondang won the title as the Proklim Utama at the national level and is currently in the process of submitting it to Proklim Lestari Village. One of the programs carried out by Gondang Village is carried out to maintain the river based on local wisdom called Grebeg Susuk Wangan. The method used in this research is literature study, observation and interview. The results showed that the Grebeg Susuk Wangan is done once a year, namely on Friday Wage between February and March. There are several events in the Grebeg Susuk Wangan conducted by the residents of Gondang Village, namely environmental gatherings, craft exhibitions, art performances, and planting hard trees. At present, the partnership in implementing Grebeg Susuk Wangan is still limited to local individual organizations, institutions and communities. Therefore, suggestions that can be given to the Gondang Village Government are 1) partnering with companies as a form of CSR, 2) inviting and involving Adiwiyata schools in its implementation, and 3) inviting journalists to cover activities.

Abstract:
Humans and colonial piscivorous birds are often perceived to be in conflict over shared aquatic habitats and fisheries resources in inland lakes. We examined angler perception of birds and the relative abundance of American white pelicans (Pelecanus erythrorhynchos), double-crested cormorants (Phalacrocorax auritus), western grebes (Aechmophorus occidentalis), and boats on two lakes in Saskatchewan, Canada. Anglers perceived cormorants to be the biggest threat to fisheries (60%), compared to pelicans (47%), and western grebes (34%). The density of these birds and boats varied significantly between sections of the two study lakes. Boat density was higher in developed sections with shoreline communities (range 0-7/km2) compared to those surrounded by agricultural land or native prairie (0-1/km2). In contrast, cormorant and pelican densities were highest in areas with an undeveloped shoreline (0-22/km2), and were reduced to near zero in developed sections. Western grebes did not follow the same pattern as the other two species; grebe density was generally more uniform within lakes (0-23/km2 in all sections). Boat density was a negative predictor of pelican and cormorant density on one lake, but was a positive predictor for grebes on both lakes. Our results indicate that pelicans and cormorants avoid sections of lakes that have higher levels of human development, potentially altering the location of their foraging sites on the scale of kilometres. In contrast, western grebes were abundant in all areas of the two lakes and did not appear to avoid human development or activity. We conclude that angler perceptions are not congruent with levels of habitat use overlap with birds. In addition, western grebe responses to human activities appear counterintuitive, making interpretations difficult in a conservation context; further study is required.

Abstract:
Among the most powerful practical speculations that have caught the consideration of the linguists is the Grecian maxims of Conversational Implication. Grice contributes to draw line between what is said and what is implied. An observational examination introduced to explore the utilization of this hypothesis to the conversation in between managers from different electric automobile companies. Interviewer and managers involved in conversation with each other to pass on what they need to say either verifiably or unequivocally. The great point of this examination is to explore the Grecian Hypothesis of Conversational Implication in the light of TPB. Semi-coordinated meetings with administrators from four diverse Electric Vehicle (EV) organizations specifically: Karakorum Engines, Chongqing Changan Auto Restricted, Al-Pilgrimage Car Private Restricted, and BMW were led. Conversationalists can expect that when speakers deliberately ridicule an adage. Hence, the Grecian maxims fill a need both when they are followed and when they are mocked.

Abstract:
First 1.000 days of human’s life is a golden period which will determines the quality of human’s health in the next lifetime period. Unfortunately, various health problems are found that interfere with the health condition of the baby in the first 1.000 days of human’s life, one of them is stunted babies and wasted babies. Stunted and wasted babies are nutritional problems faced by various countries in the World, including Indonesia. Community service is carried out in Grebegan Village, Kalitidu, Bojonegoro. Health conditions of children under five in Grebegan Village in 2019 are known to have 14 stunted and/or wasted toddlers. The purpose of community service activities is to implement the program as an effort to reduce the prevalence of stunting and wasting in Grebegan Village. Data related to stunted and wasted toddlers were obtained by Focus Group Discussion (FGD), indept interviews, and questionnaires activites. The data obtained were then used for searching the root of the problem using the fishbone method and then determined the priority of alternative solutions using the MEER method. The results of calculation using MEER method then found the highest ranking intervention program that is socialization related to parenting and toddler’s eating patterns and cooking demonstrations. Intervention activities carried out are expected to increase knowledge and can be applied by the community so as to reduce the prevalence of stunted and wasted children under five in Grebegan Village.

Abstract:
Anodization of silicon carbide (SiC) in hydrofluoric acid (HF) solutions is a promising way to etch this material which is very resistant against traditional chemical etching methods. Moreover, it has been shown that several reproducible porous SiC morphologies can be performed varying anodization conditions (current density, electrolyte composition, UV lighting) and/or substrate properties (doping type and level). This paper proposes a state of the art of porous SiC etching in GREMAN and a presentation of the morphologies achievable using anodization in HF based electrolytes.

Abstract:
The fund of the Belgrade Natural History Museum's ornithological collection has especially great scientific, museological, cultural, and historical importance. The order Podicipediformes was recently chosen for inventory work the results of which are reported here. A total of 57 specimens from three Museum collections and over 20 localities through?out Serbia was inventoried. The most inventory units were recorded in the collection of mounted bird specimens (38), the least in the historical collection (eight). The study collection of birds contains 11 specimens. It was determined that most specimens in the Museum are great crested grebes (Podiceps cristatus). The Museum has the fewest specimens of rednecked grebes (Podiceps grisegena) and no specimens of Slavonian grebe (Podiceps auritus) at all. Podiceps nigricollis and Tachybaptus ruficollis are represented by an approximately equal number of specimens. The paper shows that the collection of grebes in the Belgrade Natural History Museum represents an especially important source of information about the taxon Podicipediformes. It can also be considered a valuable part of our cultural and natural heritage.

Abstract:
A study of the relative proportions of coloured retinal oil droplets in the five Canadian grebe species and the American Coot was undertaken to evaluate the possibility of an ecological rationale to the pattern of variation in these proportions among the species. Statistical analysis suggests that there may be significant differences in these proportions among the six species studied, and that some species show significant heterogeneity among the nine sectors into which the retinas were divided. There was no significant association of oil droplet proportions in either Western or Red-necked grebes with two different lake types. Significantly greater mean total droplet densities were found in the Pied-billed Grebe and the American Coot than the other four grebes; the lowest droplet densities were shown by Western and Eared grebes. The finding of significant within-retina (among-sector) variation, and high levels of individual variation in some species throws into question reported values for other species where single samples have been taken from one or a few individuals.

Abstract:
This research reveals the religious values expressed by symbols of Grebeg Sura tradition in Tambaknegara, Rawalo District, Banyumas Regency. Islamic studies on Javanese context are endless because their dynamics and uniqueness are always interesting to be studied. As a religion, Islam gives concepts and symbols of idealism, while Javanese culture, having existed for hundreds of years, has born various and specific traditions and culture. Methods used in this research are observations and interviews to competent informants. This research reveals that Islam in the Javanese context cannot be separated from local culture and traditions that have been planted tightly. Islam can be accepted by Javanese society for its flexibility. The tradition of grebeg sura in Tambaknegara, Rawalo District, Banyumas Regency is full of Javanese symbols. However, it also contains values that are relevant to Islam. In perceiving polytheistic Javanese traditions, Muslims show three different attitudes: 1) extremely reject the traditions due to their principal that believing in magical power originated from animism and dynamism is categorized into syirik and will destroy their aqidah, therefore, it is not tolerable; 2) totally accept the tradition without any selection, which is usually followed by common people who do not really understand Islam, but they get benefits of it; 3) gradually and persuasively erase the traditions through preaching Islam using local symbols. Islam disyiarkan melalui idiom lokal.
