Abstract:
A great deal of research has examined students' preferred learning styles as measured by Kolb's 1985 Learning Style Inventory, but little effort has been made to test the covariate effects of other individual psychological facets, such as creativity, on preferred learning style. For a sample of 84 college undergraduates, the relationship between learning style and Raudsepp's problem-solving creativity scale was observed not to covary.

Abstract:
Style is a unique feature of each author, which implies that each artist has his own style - the ideological direction of his work, the artistic means used in the text, lexical and phraseological elements and specific components related to the artistic form. Re-creation of each author's own "language", ie style, is one of the important conditions of literary translation and requires great artistic skill from the translator. The stylistic diversity, the charm of form and meaning is a great treasure of every national literature. Were it not for the variety of styles and colors, there would have been a single stylistic ambiguity, ambiguity, ambiguity. Such a situation would have led to intellectual bluntness, artistic poverty.

Abstract:
With the focus of language teaching from teachers to students, the personal factors of language learners have become the focus of research. In 1964, Kagan and his colleagues proposed a reflective-impulsive cognitive style(R-I), a pair of opposing cognitive style that can be measured by Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT). Kagan believes that in dealing with cognitive tasks, holding a slow but accurate style is a reflective cognitive style, and holding a fast but inaccurate style is impulsive cognitive style. What’s more, different cognitive styles of learners affect language learning. For English learners, oral English is connected with the output of language, and students' oral ability is an important part of pragmatic competence. The researcher uses MFFT20, combined with observation, interview, oral test to evaluate the oral performance and ability of 80 high school students in a middle school in Chongqing. By analyzing the correlation between the reflective-impulsive cognitive styles and oral English ability, the following results are obtained. First, reflective cognitive style and impulsive cognitive style account for the same proportion of students. And reflective-impulsive cognitive style affects the oral ability of English learners. Second, students with different cognitive styles have great differences in oral performance. Third, generally speaking, English learners with reflective cognitive style perform better in oral accuracy than English students with impulsive cognitive style, while English learners with impulsive cognitive style perform better in oral fluency than students with reflective style.

Abstract:
Sanmao was formerly known as Chen Ping, a contemporary Taiwanese female writer and traveler. Sanmao is one of the few contemporary prose writers. Although many scholars believe that her works have some novel elements, a kind of work is accepted by readers with what kind of style, it has a substantial impact on what kind of style, so Sanmao is placed into the ranks of prose writers. For Sanmao, writing constitutes her unique life form. Sanmao's literary creation style has a very high literary research value, which is closely related to her innate personality, as well as her understanding of life itself and her unique literary interpretation skills. To be precise, Sanmao does not have the serious creative mission of a pure literary writer, nor will it deliberately pursue the social effectiveness of her works. For her, innovation is neither the great cause of the country, nor the masterpiece of the past dynasties. This article explores Sanmao's literary creation style through the three writing characteristics of writing freely, “depending on benevolence, swim in art” and integration of “Inovel” creation skills.

Abstract:
Since leaders can have a strong influence on the employees’ behavior, various approaches have been designed to determine the most effective style of leadership. As a field of study, the review of past research reveals that investigating leadership styles has been mainly focused on large businesses. Despite the great importance of leadership to SMEs, not many studies attempted to explore the leadership style embraced by SMEs, especially within the Macedonian context. The purpose of this study is to explore the presence of different leadership styles (autocratic, democratic and laissez-faire) in Macedonian SME. Moreover, in view of the main research objective, several demographic variables were examined, such as gender, age and working experience as to their relevance for the dominant leadership style, with a special focus on managers of small and medium sized businesses from the textile industry. Using a Leadership Style Questionnaire, the research measured different leadership styles in addition to collecting in-depth demographic data on each of the respondents. The research results have indicated that the democratic leadership is the dominant style of Macedonian textile SMEs.

This included the adoption by the king of a mixed Persian and Macedonian royal costume, proskynēsis, Persian spear-bearers and certain Persian officers, such as the chiliarch and the chief usher (εἰσαγγελεύς). But Alexander also used an imposing tent and an audience style modelled on that of the Great King. It is my intention here to investigate the Persian-style tent of Alexander and the two court offices called the chiliarch and chief usher, associated with the king's new audience-style.

Abstract:
Parenting styles are crucial in the process of forming social emotions in children. They are also vital for creating effective family policies in order to improve a child’s early development. As such, it is important to acknowledge the enduring association of parenting styles across generations, as well as their impact on early child development. In this study, the question as to whether the warm and hostile parenting styles of a parent/grandparent mediate the relationships between the emotional warmth and rejection parenting styles of a grandparent/great grandparent, as well as the subsequent social–emotional development of a grandson/great grandson and/or a granddaughter/great granddaughter, was examined. Cross-sectional assessment data from 194 primary caregivers of children between 6 and 36 months were analyzed using mediation analyses. In addition, moderated mediation models were used to test heterogeneity effects. This study found evidence that the warm and hostile parenting styles of a parent/grandparent mediated the associations between the emotional warmth and rejection parenting styles of a grandparent/great grandparent, as well as the subsequent socio-emotional development of a grandchild/great grandchild. Parents/grandparents tend to use a warm parenting style when the child is a boy, thereby resulting in fewer socio-emotional problems. This study provides empirical evidence for the purposes of preventive services to improve caregivers’ parenting styles in the early stages of a child’s development. Researchers and family practitioners should continue to support families with intervention or therapeutic techniques in order to mitigate potential lasting consequences.

Classicism (neoclassicism) of the end of the 18 century is a tribute of great century of furniture art to antique art forms. In France where new style is called as Louis 16´s style, classicism was the last among "royal styles". The principle of a periodization "on kings" carries, naturally, very conditional character. For example, it is impossible to determine a chronological framework of classicism by the beginning of board and year of death of the king Louis 16 (1774-1789). The similar periodization is even less justified for other countries.

Abstract:
Folk music style classification is of great significance. Traditional folk music style classification has difficulties in feature selection, and the existing folk music style methods based on deep learning also have shortcomings. In this paper, we use artificial neural networks to classify folk music styles and transform audio signals into a sound spectrum. In this paper, we use artificial neural networks to classify folk music styles and transform audio signals into a sound spectrum to avoid the problem of manually selecting features. Further, we combine the characteristics of the music signal and a variety of music data enhancement methods to enhance the music data. The proposed model can extract elements of the sound spectrum that are more closely associated with a certain music style category. Experimental results reveal that the proposed method achieves a high accuracy rate, which verifies the effectiveness of our model.

Ages at death of 80 great jazz musicians may indicate that the stressful life style of jazz musicians may be reflected in a shortened life span, but a control group is needed.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Edward Thomas (1878–1917) is largely known today as a great poet of the First World War. He also was a journalist, essayist and novelist. Thirty-six unpublished letters from the Anglo-Welsh writer William Henry Davies (1871–1940) to Thomas, now in the Hugh Walpole Collection at the King’s School, Canterbury, reveal a close friendship and Thomas’s strong support for an unknown impoverished fellow writer. In addition, the letters throw much light on the Edwardian literary scene between the years 1906 and 1909, and Davies and Thomas’s activities and interests. Davies’s letters complement existing published correspondence between him and Thomas and go some way to revise the perception that Davies took advantage of Thomas, himself at the time also a struggling writer.

Abstract Different students have different learning styles, which are corresponding to their performances and make them behave differently in the learning process. Discovering the learning style of the students can help the development of teaching plans the students would accept more likely. It is a pity that few people dedicate to programming the learning style diagnosis. In view of the learning style, which is always closely linked with the learning performance, the programming learning behavior is introduced to programme the learning style diagnosis. This paper identifies the learning style of programming students in the learning process through their behavior preferences. To make the diagnosis more accurate, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is introduced. The experiments invite junior students, senior students, graduate students and teachers of the College of Computer Science and Technology in the authors’ university to fill out questionnaires as data. The experimental results show that PSO provides a great contribution.

The of direction and style terms are of great importance in architecture and art history. The same names may have sometimes a completely different meaning. Classicism as one of the main trends in world architecture and art is now quite freely interpreted by different authors, which results in inaccurate definitions of architectural style of an object and the time of its construction. All this creates certain difficulties in studying not only historical buildings, but also their restoration or reconstruction. The article raises several questions related to the direction style. The first is the origins of the style that spread throughout Europe and Russia since the mid of the 17th century and continues today. Both classicism and its architectural styles require clarification and understanding. The second issue concerns the architecture and development of Siberian cities. The third question describes the influence of classicism on urban planning in West Siberia.

AbstractChina’s ascendance attracts concern, even though Beijing claims to be a responsible great power and tries to demonstrate its ‘great power style’ in economic diplomacy. This article therefore discusses the following questions: to what extent does the current notion and practice of Chinese ‘great power style’ in economic diplomacy comply with, or differ from, the criteria of benign hegemony; and what are the major constraining factors? Conceptually, China’s ‘great power style’ is rooted in ancient Chinese political philosophy and institution, but it highly resembles the Western notion of benign hegemony. Empirically, China has started to provide more public goods in trade, finance and aid, and it seeks voting powers at international institutions. However, it is still far from being a benign hegemon because of its level of development, domestic political constraints, and tension between political and economic interests.

The author has investigated the learning style of the students and behavioral change in the learner and also when they note the persistence of this change. Learning happens in stages, and at each stage, students learn in different ways. Difficulties that arise at home, schooling are often due to differences in learning styles. It has been proposed that teachers should assess the learning styles of their students and adapt their classroom methods to best fit each student’s learning style. These possessed learning styles play a vital role in deciding their level of achievement. This achieved test score determines their future career. The ambitions and aspirations of our students are largely governed by their learning skills adopted by the students. There is no significant difference between XI and XII standard higher secondary school students in their learning styles in the dimensions. This study will be more fruitful when suggestions given by the investigator are applied for further study and it will be of great help for those who want to study further in this field.

Abstract:
This paper is devoted to the problems of differentiation of stylistic variants in the common phenomenon of the so-called Scythian and Siberian animal styles, which is one of the main distinctive features of Eurasian nomadic art. The animal style is a concept of more scale than an artistic style proper which distinguishes with some formal characteristics and depends directly on generic traditions and ethnic and cultural roots of art. Together with the technical-technological methods these formal features could be evidential indications of the origin of works of art. The Siberian collection of Peter the Great includes some different groups of golden ornaments decorated in animal styles of different origins. The paper focuses on a compact group of items originating from various mostly unknown sites from different territories in Asia including the Oxus treasure, several items from the Siberian collection of Peter the Great from Southern Siberia, a few jewelry pieces from other collections of the world museums as well as items made of leather and felt coming from the First and the Second Pazyryk kurgans. A distinctive feature of this group of zoomorphic images are colored inlays that accentuate a hind-leg or a shoulder of the animal; such inlays have the form of an intricate figure made up of a circle and a curvilinear triangle abutting to it or elongated round brackets. Genetically, such an ornamental motif, which is not generally typical for Persian art, may be linked to a periphery area of the Iranian world and nomadic culture, while the group of sites can be dated back to the 4th–3rd centuries BC. The paper considers a bracelet from the Siberian collection of Peter the Great which is the only item in this category of jewelry type of bracelets. It represents a rare type of ornament with a multi-component structure. It consists of three open-work strips with zoomorphic compositions in an animal style similar to the above-mentioned stylistic group. All three parts of the bracelet are created in a unified style, but obviously in different individual manners. There is no doubt, that the zoomorphic images show three different authors’ hands, and were made by different artisans. So, there is evidence of collective work on the object when each artisan makes his own operation to create a unique jewel at a workshop. Some parts of the composition on the bracelet are similar in style to zoomorphic images from kurgan Issyk in Kazakhstan which perhaps were made in the same workshop. This fact confirms the assumption of the origin of some of Siberian jewelry.

Over the last few years—which for Bulgaria were years of great political, social and psychological change, related to the disintegration of ideological systems and conventions, and to the destruction of established social and theatrical structures—the very term ‘Bulgarian drama’ seemed entirely missing from the theatre practice of the country. In the new theatre system that emerged from this period of change there was a dearth of new Bulgarian plays.

Abstract:
The word fashion which expresses change and encompasses all areas of humanity is synonymous with clothing when taken in its narrow and common sense. People who can direct clothing fashion with their original clothing and appearances and are followed with great interest by public are called ‘style icons’. As style icons, people from many different disciplines such as cinema, music, design, politics and sports have emerged with fashion and had an impact on clothing styles of different periods. One of the style icons of this era is Iris Apfel, who was born in Astoria in 1921, studied art and is known as an interior designer. The aim of this research is to examine the clothing style as well as all the visual elements (clothes, accessories, jewellery, hair, make-up etc.) that constitute the style of Iris Apfel as a style icon. The method of the research is qualitative in line with the research problem, purpose and the path followed in reaching the findings. Thus, a visual analysis of 10 photographs randomly selected from personal social media accounts or the internet was carried out. The findings obtained as a result of the analysis are presented in detail on each image. Keywords: Fashion, clothing, style icon, Iris Apfel.

Denrele Adetimkan Obasa (1878-1948) was a great Yoruba poet in his own ́ right. It was he who provided ‘the link between traditional beliefs and writing in the modern vein.’2 The three volumes of Yorùbá poetry produced by him between 1927 and 1945 had a great impact not only on the adults who were impressed by the wealth of traditional sayings in his poems, but also on the school children who were made to learn some of the poems by heart.3 In this paper I intend to answer the question: In what does Obasa’s greatness as ̣ a poet consist? In the Ìjúbà (prologue) to Iwe ̀ ́ Kinni ́ ́ Awo ̀ n Ake ̣ wi, he writes: ̀ O di odụ ́n mó ̣kànléló ̣gbò ̣n nísisiyi (AD 1896) ti mo ti be ́ ̀ ̣re si ̀ ś aạ ́yan kíko -̣́ jo ̣ àwon o ̣ ̀ ̣rò ̣ ogbo ̣ ́ ̣n àtaiyebáyé ti àwon baba n ̣ ́là wa, tí i máa hán jade nínú orin, ègè, rárà, ìjálà, ìpesạ ̀, àròfò ̣, oríkì, ìlù, fèrè àti àgbékà ò ̣ro ̣̀ won…̣ (Obasa 1927: i) (For the past thirtyone years (1896-1927) I have been assembling Yorùbá traditional sayings which embody the wisdom of our fore-fathers. Abstract:
Purpose In the context of an economic downturn and three transitions of political power, Taiwan’s Kuomintang (KMT) kick-started the cross-strait mutual trust mechanism, encouraging university graduates to find employment in mainland China’s job market (in both mainland China and Hong Kong). Academia and industry are both paying great attention to this issue. There is still a paucity of discussions about cognitive style with regard to working in mainland China (Macau) Design/methodology/approach This study is based on the Q methodology using a sample of Taiwanese university graduates to explore how behavioral factors relate to cognitive style. Findings This paper defines four cognitive styles based on differences in focus and motivation: lifestyles of health and sustainability (LOHAS), word-of-mouth (WOM), learning/practice match and local market disappointment. Originality/value An association is drawn between cognition theory and psychology’s classification of cognitive style. In the context of the four cognitive styles, this paper explores the practical implications of employment and provides recommendations for those intending to work abroad.

Abstract:
Family is the place where children first receive their education. As a result, parenting styles can significantly impact for this reason, experts at home and abroad have attached great importance to the study of the influence of parenting styles on children's development. This paper integrates and analyses the classification of parenting styles by Chinese and foreign scholars, which are mainly defined as authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful according to two dimensions: demandingness and responsiveness. This paper's analysis mainly focuses on the factors that influence the different types of families' parenting styles in China and their influence mechanisms on various aspects of children's development. It was found that Chinese parents' awareness of scientific parenting has been increasing in recent years; while recognizing the importance of both demandingness and responsiveness, they generally tend to choose an authoritative parenting style. However, the idealized parenting style usually conflicts with real-life and traditional views, and the lack of systematic scientific learning makes it difficult for parents to implement parenting behaviors properly. This article aims to explore how Chinese parents can break out of this dilemma and find the most appropriate parenting style with the support and assistance of all sides under the changing times and the current situation, which is influenced by multiple factors.

The object of this study are two poems from different authors, namely the poem “I Love You In Silence” by Jalaluddin Rumi with the poem “Great Love” by Kahlil Gibran. This study aims to compare the style of language of the two poems. The method used by the authours in this study is the comparison method. The results showed that there where three similarities and two differences found in the two poems. First, there are there are similarities in the style of language. Secondly, there are similiraties in the style of language based on the structure of sentences, both poems use the name style of repetition language, and not only that the third equation is found in the direct or indirect meaning of meaning because both poems also use the style of personification. As for the difference between the two poems there are two differences. First, it lies in the phrase used in the repetitive language style, if in the poem Rumi uses the phrase ‘I Chose’ while Gibran uses the phrase ‘when’. Second, there is difference in the function of the repetitive language style used, when Rumi uses the repetitive language style to confirm the action taken against the person in love, in contrast to Gibran who uses the repetitive language style to explain the true nature of love. Abstract:
Neural style transfer, which has attracted great attention in both academic research and industrial engineering and demonstrated very exciting and remarkable results, is the technique of migrating the semantic content of one image to different artistic styles by using convolutional neural network (CNN). Recently, the Gram matrices used in the original and follow-up studies for style transfer were theoretically shown to be equivalent to minimizing a specific Maximum Mean Discrepancy (MMD). Since the Gram matrices are not a must for style transfer, how to design the proper process for aligning the neural activation between images to perform style transfer is an important problem. After careful analysis of some different algorithms for style loss construction, we discovered that some algorithms consider the relationships between different feature maps of a layer obtained from the CNN (inter-class relationships), while some do not (intra-class relationships). Surprisingly, the latter often show more details and finer strokes in the results. To further support our standpoint, we propose two new methods to perform style transfer: one takes inter-class relationships into account and the other does not, and conduct comparative experiments with existing methods. The experimental results verified our observation. Our proposed methods can achieve comparable perceptual quality yet with a lower complexity. We believe that our interpretation provides an effective design basis for designing style loss function for style transfer methods with different visual effects.

Abstract:
AbstractThere is a growing perception that English used as a lingua franca does not need to resemble English as a native language, but can include a great deal of lexicogrammatical variation. However, a more fundamental matter is whether research articles written in English need to conform to the dominant linear, deductive, ‘Anglo’ pattern of text organization, or whether non-native English speakers should be free to transfer rhetorical patterns from their L1s into English, such as, e.g., an inductive, indirect, end-weighted form of argumentation, perhaps with a less-assertive conclusion. Hinds (1987) describes the latter style of writing as “reader-responsible,” as opposed to the “writer-responsible” Anglo-American style, arguing that it requires a great deal more inferential work on the part of the reader. Yet from a relevance theory perspective it appears unlikely that a culture would choose to impose unnecessary additional processing effort on readers. The perception of difficulty is an etic perspective: analysts from “writer-responsible” cultures imagine the processing effort that would be necessary in their culture to make sense of “reader-responsible” texts. Indirect, inductive rhetorical styles do not cause problems for readers accustomed to them. Given that most academic writing in English is for an international audience, non-native English-speaking researchers – and indeed native English speakers too – should be free to adopt a range of styles, or some sort of heterogeneous hybrid, depending on their perceptions of their readers’ expectations. A further issue is whether researchers who have reservations about ‘Anglo’ styles of writing, e.g. in the social sciences or literary and cultural theory, should encourage non-native English speakers to imitate the noun-heavy, nominalized, passivized, syntactically-complex style dominant in these fields.

Being the language itself is a creature of the author, it expresses in itself its cultural heritage. Petro marko mimics ordinary talk, introducing and making his own, perfectly perfect, spells, characteristics of spoken language phrases. The language used in the confession is mainly the language of the people. The novel "a four-way name" authored using the spoken language of the village of dhërmi, but also the expression of the literary language, creating words and expressions with ingenuity and subtlety. It is not a novel, "hasta la vista" and "the last city" he also extensively uses spanish, italian or other languages, giving the story a great force of expression and originality, and at the same time approaching the reader even more with the character or story to which it relates.

Attachment theory has great potential to help our understanding of the apparent contradiction between violence and intimacy. Yet very few studies applied this theory to explain or predict sexual coercion in the context of intimate relationships. This study examined the relation between male partners’ attachment styles and women’s coerced first sexual intercourse in dating relationships. There were 927 valid questionnaires collected by purposive snowball sampling in five main cities in China to college students who were currently in a romantic relationship. Results showed that in both male and female samples, male partners’ anxious attachment style were significantly and positively predicted emotional manipulation coercive tactics. In the female sample, male partners’ two attachment styles (anxious and avoidant) positively predicted violence threat tactics, and male partners’ avoidant attachment style positively predicted defection threat tactics. The research hypothesis of this study has been successfully supported, and implications and limitations were discussed.

Throughout the years, scientists have produced an overflow of work and information that includes esteem in the field of initiative examination. In spite of the fact that initiative is only an expression that is regularly utilized as a part of discussion and is every now and again depicted by different modifiers, for example, great administration, compelling authority, viable initiative, poor initiative and awful authority. Most researchers have arrived at the conclusion that the idea of administration does not credit to one particular definition. Despite the fact that an absence of amicability keeps on existing around a definite importance for administration, the vast majority of the analysts concur that initiative is an impact relationship between the pioneers and the supporter who have their mutual purposes and the pioneer accomplishes objectives through ceaseless motivation and inspiration of their adherents and there must adopt the leadership styles in to make impact on the faculty members. From the findings of the study we can assume that the respondents didn’t recognize the differences among the styles and so they have lack of knowledge about the leadership styles. The poor information about the leadership styles that for the respondents could not able to recognize the preferred style. Abstract:
In recent years, great progress has been made in the technical aspects of automatic speaker verification (ASV). However, the promotion of ASV technology is still a very challenging issue, because most technologies are still very sensitive to new, unknown and spoofing conditions. Most previous studies focused on extracting target speaker information from natural speech. This paper aims to design a new ASV corpus with multi-speaking styles and investigate the ASV robustness to these different speaking styles. We first release this corpus in the Zenodo website for public research, in which each speaker has several text-dependent and text-independent singing, humming and normal reading speech utterances. Then, we investigate the speaker discrimination of each speaking style in the feature space. Furthermore, the intra and inter-speaker variabilities in each different speaking style and cross-speaking styles are investigated in both text-dependent and text-independent ASV tasks. Conventional Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), and the state-of-the-art x-vector are used to build ASV systems. Experimental results show that the voiceprint information in humming and singing speech are more distinguishable than that in normal reading speech for conventional ASV systems. Furthermore, we find that combing the three speaking styles can significantly improve the x-vector based ASV system, even when only limited gains are obtained by conventional GMM-based systems.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTAt the Great Temple of Tenochtitlan, the archaeologists found hundreds of stone masks considered foreign pieces obtained by commerce, tribute, and pillage. Because of that, they were classified in the main Mesoamerican styles, like the Olmec, Mezcala, Teotihuacan, Mayan, Mixtec and Aztec art. Among them are seven Teotihuacan Style masks found in five offerings. Its presence was explained by other researchers as relics looted by Aztec people from the Teotihuacan site, because the Aztec priests and rulers employed them as sources of power, prestige and mythical links between the City of the Gods and Tenochtitlan. But, are these stone masks from Tenochtitlan really Teotihuacan items? How can we identify which of them came from Teotihuacan and could be relics and which of them not? To solve this problem, we analyze its manufacturing techniques and compare them with lapidary objects from different areas of Teotihuacan, employing experimental archaeology, Optic Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy. As results, we identify two technological patterns: five masks share the tools and techniques of Teotihuacan manufactures but two other masks contrast with them. Interestingly, its technology match with the Tenochcan productions, so, both pieces could be recreations crafted by Aztec artisans during the Postclassic times.
