Abstract:
Small and marginal farmers always face problem in production and income in absence of economy of scale. Farmers and governments always tried to get the advantage of collectiveness to get the both ended advantage of economy of scale. Cooperative societies of farmers were one of the mitigation techniques. SHG, JLG, farmers club etc are the efforts to achieve the economy of scale in production and marketing but distress of the farmers proved all efforts incomplete. In the year 2002 a special structure comprising the characteristics of cooperatives society and company was designed for original farm producers in the form and style of FPOs (farm producer organizations) managed and run by Cluster based Business organization (CBBO).The ownership of the PO (Producer organization) is with its members it is an organization of the producers for the producers. FPO also known as farmers company (FPC) is an legal entity by primary producers. An FPO can be a producer company, a cooperative society or any other form. The small farmers Agri-business consortium (SFAC) developed by Government of India to increase the Income of small and marginal farmers. Central Sector Scheme of “Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs)” is the attempt to accelerate the formation of FPO, Govt. assistance at all level of formation and operation of FPO, hand holding support for five year budget allocation GOI budget 2020-21. The study will evaluate and asses the scheme and role to increase the farm producers’ income by way of FPO on account of budget allocation and implementation of central scheme.

Abstract:
AbstractThis article examines the effects of electoral systems on issue ownership. This study argues that electoral rules significantly affect issue ownership because they prompt candidates to adopt different types of electoral campaigns. Compared to the single non-transferable vote (SNTV) system, the mixed-member majoritarian (MMM) system prods candidates to change the pattern of electoral campaigns from candidate-centred to issue-centred competition. In particular, partisan issue effects are more effective in gaining votes under the MMM. To support the argument, I find evidence from content analyses of party manifestos and multinomial logistic regression models of electoral surveys between the pre-reform and post-reform elections in Japan.

Abstract:
This study investigates whether government participation in firm ownership leads to better firm performance of publicly listed companies in Malaysia. The sample covers 257 companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia from 1997 to 2009. Multiple regression models with balanced panel data are used to examine the impact of government ownership (GOVN) on firm performance. We find a negative relationship between GOVN and firm performance, a finding that supports the negative public perception of government-linked companies (GLCs) in Malaysia. We conclude that government ownership is not an effective tool for improvement of firm performance in Malaysia.

Abstract:
Uncontrolled prediabetes can develop into Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The incidence of T2DM among adults in Pontianak, Indonesia was reported remarkably high. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the risk factors for prediabetes in adults living in urban areas of Pontianak, Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 5 subdistricts of Pontianak. A total of 506 adults underwent screening to obtain subjects with fasting blood glucose (FBS) of ≤124 mg/dL and aged >30 years. Blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) were measured. Interview using a structured questionnaire were performed to obtain data on predictor variables (age, sex, education, income, health insurance, tobacco use, history of hypertension, gout, high cholesterol level, frequency of exercise per week, and diabetic education). The prevalence of prediabetes among subjects was significantly high (76.4%). Subjects were predominantly above 40 years, female, had low income, low education level, and had health insurance. About a third of the subjects had a history of hypertension, gout, and high cholesterol level, respectively. The exercise frequency was mostly less than 3 times/week, and the BMI was mainly classified as overweight and obese. The result of spearman’s rho correlation showed that age (r = 0.146; p = 0.022 ) and BMI (r = 0.130; p = 0.041 ) significantly correlated with prediabetes incidence. Moreover, the chi-square analysis demonstrated that health insurance ownership (OR = 4.473; 95% CI 1.824–10.972; p ≤ 0.001 ), history of hypertension (OR = 3.096; 95% CI 1.542–6.218; p = 0.001 ), and history of gout (OR = 2.419; 95% CI 1.148–5.099; p = 0.018 ), were associated with prediabetes incidence. For all these significant risk predictors except BMI, the significant associations were found only among female subjects after specific sex analysis. Moreover, multivariate logistic regression showed that health insurance ownerships (OR = 5.956; 95% CI 2.256–15.661; p ≤ 0.001 ) and history of hypertension (OR = 3.257; 95% CI 1.451–7.311; p = 0.004 ), and systolic blood pressure (OR = 2.141; 95% CI 1.092–4.196; p = 0.027 ) were the risk factors for prediabetes. It is concluded that the prevalence of prediabetes is probably high especially among urban people in Pontianak, Indonesia. Health insurance ownership and hypertension may have an important role in prediabetes management. The risk factors might be different between male and female.

Abstract:
AbstractNiche parties often originate in social movements, yet the latter’s role in shaping these parties has received scant attention. I argue that movement roots can help niche parties achieve both vote- and policy-seeking goals by keeping core issues salient, bolstering issue ownership and securing allies in civil society. Employing interviews with movement, as well as Green and Pirate party leaders in Sweden and Germany, I identify three mechanisms (electoral pressure, grassroots linkage, elite orientation) that lead to programmatic alignment. This article extends an emerging research agenda that highlights how social movements shape party politics and offers evidence that niche party–movement interactions open new avenues for political representation counterbalancing mainstream parties’ increasing detachment from civil society.

Abstract:
Before 1991, Australia enforced strict limits on foreign ownership of licensed broadcasters and also limited foreign ownership of newspaper publishers. In the early 1990s, however, a pair of Canadian entrepreneurs succeeded in first raising and then circumventing those limits. Conrad Black bought 15 per cent of the Fairfax newspaper chain in 1992, and shortly before the ensuing national election lobbied to increase his stake to 25 per cent. In his 1993 autobiography, Black described backroom political dealings that resulted in a Senate inquiry. The Australian Broadcasting Authority soon began an investigation into another Canadian challenging the country's foreign media ownership limits. Israel ‘Izzy’ Asper, a former tax lawyer, found a way to legally purchase 57.5 per cent of Network Ten in 1992 by holding 42.5 per cent in the form of non-voting debentures. The ABA absolved his CanWest Global Communications of controlling Network Ten in 1995. Non-voting shares were outlawed in 1997, but CanWest was allowed to retain its debentures. The inquiries into Canadian purchases contributed to a decade-long process of re-evaluating media ownership limits that resulted in restrictions on foreign ownership being eliminated in 2006.

This study aims to examine the effect of ownership concentration and type of share ownership on the financial performance of Islamic banks in Indonesia. The sample used is Islamic commercial banks recorded in Indonesian Islamic Banking Statistics, with a study period of five years, from 2014 to 2018. Regression testing involves financial performance (ROA, ROE, and NPL) as the dependent variable; ownership concentration (K) and ownership type (INST, GOV, FAM and FOR) as independent variables; and some control variables, such as CAR, size, leverage, and company age. Data collected shows that all of Islamic Banks in Indonesia have concentrated ownership, therefore that factor should be omitted from independent variables. Based on hypothesis testing, we find that financial performance of Islamic Banks in Indonesia are not influenced by it’s ownership type.

Abstract:
When it comes to analyses of financial power in Latin America, there has been a tendency to assume it is mostly external, relatively homogeneous, and usually constraining of domestic policy autonomy. Increasingly, however, when speaking of financial power in the region, a focus exclusively on foreign capital misses a significant part of the empirical landscape, one inhabited by large domestic institutional investors: public and private pension funds. A focus on these funds reveals that a neat state–finance dichotomy is often unrepresentative of the type of blurred web of interests, influence and ownership that characterizes even those economies that have embraced a significant degree of liberalization. In fact, pension finance is far from uniform across countries. In order to capture this diversity in Latin America, a new typology is suggested that departs from the Anglo-American notion of ‘pension fund capitalism’ and further specifies pension finance as also revealing dynamics best described as ‘pension fund developmentalism and statism’. The typology is not only aimed at capturing more empirical nuance in Latin America; it can also serve as reference for cross-regional analyses of these often neglected, but increasingly powerful financial actors in emerging economies.

Each participated in a semi-structured interview exploring their experience of treating and managing gout patients were analysed thematically. FINDINGS Participants described the large burden of gout in their communities and the importance of the clinician–patient relationship in gout management. Four themes summarise the perceived barriers to effective urate lowering therapy (ULT); unique gout factors, eg its intermittent nature and potential for stigmatisation; systemic barriers to optimal treatment, or barriers that emerge from working within a certain organisation; uncertainty about ownership, or who should carry responsibility for overcoming barriers to optimal treatment; and cultural barriers to optimal treatment. CONCLUSION Clinicians in primary practice perceive gout management to be mainly acute rather than preventive care. Patients may be stigmatised and management difficult particularly when diet is emphasised over ULT. Practice nurses are a group potentially available and willing to assist in educating patients. These findings may be helpful in planning for and improving healthcare in gout. KEYWORDS Gout; general practice; uric acid; primary health care; allopurinol; primary prevention

Abstract The Tragedy of the Commons tends to be remembered today as the canonical statement of the idea that commonly-owned resources will be overused. But this idea was well known for centuries before Hardin wrote. Hardin acknowledged that he got the example of cattle in a common field from the early nineteenth century economist William Forster Lloyd, and by Lloyd’s time the idea was already familiar and was already being applied to the analysis of overpopulation, Hardin’s primary concern. This paper will trace the history of the idea that common ownership is inefficient, and will suggest why The Tragedy of the Commons nevertheless quickly attained its canonical status.

Abstract:
Demographic survey of pets’ ownership and the health status of pets within Osogbo metropolis, Osun State was conducted between April and October, 2020. This was done by preparing a structured demographic survey questionnaire which was randomly administered, retrieved and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Majority of pets owners in the study area fall within 21 - 30 years, representing 43.7% of respondents. Three types of breeds - exotic, crossed and local- were identified. A significant number of respondents indicated pets were kept for sustenance and livelihood probably due to the fact that certain category of pets was crossbred with exotic species for preferred traits. Goat owners represent 52.9% of the surveyed population. Most pets’ owners (67.4%) did not register their pets with State’s Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department. Only 35.4% of pet owners admitted that their pets were ectoparasite infested. About 65.7% of respondents vaccinated their pets, 59.9% treated their pets against helminthic infections while 43.0% admit to regular veterinary clinical check-up. Findings from this survey suggests the likelihood for pets to be registered with relevant authority is low but pet owners are more likely to treat and vaccinate their pets.

Abstract:
Income tax can be used for various functions of determining policies related to income. Taxpayer compliance is strongly influenced by the ownership of a country's NPWP because if a Taxpayer is not compliant it will cause reduced tax revenue. The object of this research is the Income Taxpayer which is limited to the Corporate Income Taxpayer in the city of Manado. The purpose of this study is to determine whether NPWP ownership has an effect on tax compliance at the Manado Primary Tax Service Office. In conducting this research a statistical analysis tool is used that is simple linear regression analysis and is strengthened by testing the hypothesis that is the t test. The results showed the regression model obtained was Y = 10.895 + 0.299 X. The constant a of 10.895 gives the sense that if the Income Tax Audit is perceived to be constant or equal to zero (0), then the magnitude of Taxpayer Compliance is 10.895 units. Furthermore, the value of b which is a regression coefficient of variable X (NPWP ownership) of 0.299 means that if NPWP ownership has increased by one (1) unit, then the amount of income tax increase has increased or increased by 0.299 units assuming the other variables are fixed or constant. Taxpayers compliance (Y) got contribution from NPWP (X) ownership factor of 6.6%, while the rest was explained by other variables not included in this study. Thus it is known that NPWP ownership has no significant effect on increasing taxpayer compliance.

Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to determine the ease or difficulty of obtaining animal feed for goat breeders. The study was conducted between January and December 2021 in Baro Yaman Village, Mutiara District, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province. The method of intentionally sampling breeders (purposive sampling) is a method of taking with a specific purpose, considering that the farmer sample contains the necessary information for the researcher’s study. Respondents were thirty-five (35) breeders with ownership of two to three goats and at least two years of experience in livestock husbandry. Accessibility to the observed feed sources depended on the feed’s origin, the distance to the feed source and travel time, the feed purchase, labor availability, and the time required to search for feed. The research findings are described in detail. The results indicated that the average of the five observed variables, namely the origin of feed, distance and travel time, availability of labor, and time to search for and purchase feed, received a score of 0.78; 0.45; 0.97; 0.95; and 0.86, with a total score of 4.00, which is classified as simple criteria. The study concludes that goat feed sources in the Mutiara District are easily accessible.

Abstract:
Objective – This study aims to examine the relationship between ownership structure (determined by institutional and foreign ownership) and earnings management in the context of Bangladeshi Pharmaceuticals and Chemical firms. Methodology/Technique – Out of 32 listed firms, this study examined 29 firms from the pharmaceuticals and chemical industry of Bangladesh from 2014 to 2018. Three firms are omitted as they got listed in 2018 and 2019 respectively. This study uses discretionary working capital accrual to measure earnings management that is the dependent variable. Ordinary least square regression analysis is conducted to assess the result of this study. Institutional and foreign ownership are independent variables. ROA, size, cash flow from operation, and leverage are control variables. Findings – It is found that institutional ownership is negatively related to earnings management and foreign ownership is positively related to earnings management but none of them are statistically significant indicating institutional and foreign ownership do not help in resolving or reducing the earnings management problems in the context of Bangladeshi pharmaceuticals and chemical firms. Novelty – Previous studies in Bangladesh deal only with the techniques of earnings management. To my knowledge, it is the first study that tries to assess the relationship of ownership structure defined by institutional and foreign shareholdings with earnings management in the context of Bangladeshi pharmaceuticals and chemical firms. These two ownership patterns are selected because they are supposed to increase the quality of financial information and also because in Bangladesh state and general shareholders are too dispersed to monitor the governance issues. The practical implications of this study is that investors should not consider institutional and foreign ownership percentage as a determining factor of good governance when considering investment decisions rather should look for other firm-specific factors as institutional and foreign shareholders are found to be inactive in increasing the quality of financial information in the context of Bangladesh. Policymakers should identify why institutional and foreign shareholders are not active and should revise the governance mechanisms accordingly. Abstract:
The purpose of implementing land registration is to provide legal certainty and legal protection. The Agrarian Law that is used in Indonesia adheres to a negative system that is tied to a positive system. The land registration activity for the first time produced proof of rights, in the form of certificates as a means of proof of land rights. Certificate as a strong proof of rights means that physical data and juridical data in a certificate have the strength of evidence and must be accepted as true information, as long as it is not proven otherwise with other evidence in the form of certificates or other certificates. In Subari’s case, there was a double land certificate in the same plot of land. Subari has the ownership of land rights that is got from his parents and from purchasing with two buffaloes. But, there are other people who dominate the land that is belong to Subari and they also have the certificate to proof their ownership of the land rights. Settlement of multiple land certificates can be done through the Court, to obtain legal certainty that the certificate of ownership of land rights which has stronger evidence is based on evidence. The district court ruled that ownership of land rights belonged to Subari, and this decision was reinforced by high court and a Supreme Court.[F1] [F1]Paragarf single

Abstract:
This research aims to determined the effect of feed adequacy on the production and quality of dairy goat milk in Turi District. This research was carried out in the field and laboratory from 01 to 24 October 2023. A total of 98 dairy goat breeders were selected as respondents with the criteria of having at least 1 year of farming experience and having at least 2 animals. From each goat they raise, milk samples are taken to test the quality in the laboratory. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and by multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the average age of farmers is 44 years, with an education level of 86% high school graduates, the number of family dependents of 4-5 people is 67%, the majority work as farmers 52% (69% ≤10 years and 31% ≥11 years). Livestock ownership status is 100% privately owned with an average ownership of 2-5 heads. The average body weight of dairy goats was 40.13 ± 6.91 kg, with milk production of 2.21 ± 0.51 liters/day. Furthermore, the milk quality variable shows that the average specific gravity and non-fat solids are 1.055 ± 0.08 and 8.42 ± 0.43. Feed adequacy (Dry Matter) is 1.43 and Crude Protein adequacy is 7.44. Milk production was significantly (p<0.05) 52.6% influenced by the level of feed adequacy with the regression equation Y = -1.513 + 0.033XI + 0.495X2. Meanwhile, milk density was 48.5% influenced by the level of feed adequacy (p>0.05) with the regression equation Y = 1.043 + 0.073XI - 0.013X2. Likewise, the lean solitaire variable which was not significant (p>0.05) was influenced by the level of feed adequacy (0.75%) with the regression equation Y = 6.874 + 0.155XI + 0.183X2. It was concluded that the adequacy of feed for dairy goats in Turi District for production was sufficient and for milk quality it was in accordance with the 2011 SNI.

West Muna regency is quite potential for development of livestock goats. However, the productivity level of goat in every region of West Muna regency and support of animal feed resources have been unknown for sure, therefore detailed information about the potential of animal feed resources is needed to be able fulfill production needs before developing goat farms. This study aimed to calculate the carrying capacity of goat farm based on the availability of animal feed in 18 villages within 6 sub-regencies including Kusambi, Napano Kusambi, Lawa, Central Tiworo, South Tiworo, and Tiworo Islands based on a criteria of population ownership. Primary data were collected from 101 respondents with a total of 408 animal units. The availability of animal feed was calculated by multiplying production of animal feed with harvested area and was expressed in dried materials (BK) and organic materials (BO). Samples of the production of green animal feed was obtained by taking grass from protected square meter and agricultural by products. Production of green legumes was calculated based on the production of each tree multiplies with harvested green area. Result of the study showed that with the current production of animal feed it is still possible to develop goat farm up to 359.52 UT/ha (2.247 animal units) or 227.5 UT cow per hectare. The objective was to quantify the uses, trace trends, evaluate the effectiveness of public policies and highlight potential and environmental risks. The maps reveal the growth and expansion of agricultural frontiers, which indicates a change in the region's economic base, which has gone from being a major coffee producer to a sugarcane and agribusiness production hub. Such changes reflect the drop in the price of coffee and the federal programs to encourage the production of sugar and ethanol. Thus, the land ownership structure has not undergone major changes and continues to be dominated by large properties, but now managed by holding companies and anonymous society. Urbanization took place at an accelerated rate and was driven by the green revolution, mainly from 1960, resulting in the strong rural exodus in the region. This process resulted in a series of socio-environmental impacts, related to irregular occupations of areas for housing and increased urban and rural violence, in addition to the increased demand for natural resources, such as, for example, the increased demand for water and consequently of the waters of the Guarani Aquifer System, which resulted in the lowering of the water table and caused restrictions on its use. In addition, the region's native vegetation has been almost completely deforested and the soils show signs of accelerated erosion locally, which tends to have a deleterious impact on surface water resources, which are already suffering from municipal and industrial effluent discharge. In this context, the Ribeirão Preto region is a global agricultural economic hub, which depends on its natural potential. Therefore, the sustainable planning of territorial use and occupation should have as a priority to protect and preserve these natural resources, given the historical dependence of the municipality on it.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper explores absconding from a new perspective. Literature has tended to focus on the risk factors linked with absconding. This paper aims to consider desistance factors for absconding for prisoners at higher risk of absconding in open prisons. Design/methodology/approach Stage 1 used logistic regression to identify factors associated with increased risk of absconding. Stage 2 identified new receptions with increased risk and used thematic analysis to analyse interviews with prisoners that did not abscond after three months. Findings Stage 1 found that the total number of previous offences predicted absconding. Stage 2 found three themes linked to desistance in absconding: “support”, “ownership” and “sense of self”. Practical implications This study highlights the importance of ensuring prisoners in open prisons are offered the appropriate emotional and practical support. It also identifies the importance of hope amongst prisoners in open conditions. Future research should further explore this idea in more depth. Originality/value Previous literature has looked at absconding from a risk factor perspective. This research identifies the desistance factors associated with absconding for individuals who have been identified as high risk of absconding. Improvements in factors associated with desistance from absconding may support a reduction in absconding from open prisons.

Abstract:
Small ruminant production facets like decision-making, ownership, labour allocation, access to- and control over assets are gendered. This study investigates intra-household gender dynamics and practices around sheep and goat production among smallholder farmers in South East region of Kenya. A quantitative study was conducted on 358 dual-headed (married) households to generate gender-disaggregated data on ownership, decision-making and labour allocation around small ruminant production. Qualitative data was collected through focused group discussions to bring out the community perspectives. From the findings, the average number of small ruminants owned by the households as reported by men was slightly higher than women. The average number of small ruminants solely owned by men was significantly higher than by women. Men reported a relatively higher number of jointly owned small ruminants compared to women. More women than men reported that they could give as a gift, sell-off and slaughter jointly owned small ruminants without consulting their spouses. Small ruminants were considered the most important livestock asset in supporting a household’s livelihood by relatively more women than men. Men had more decision-making autonomy over jointly owned small ruminants compared to women. Production tasks around small ruminants such as feeding, watering, selling milk and cleaning housing structures were mostly performed by the women. Qualitative data identified men as the de facto owners of small ruminants with a higher power position in making the important production decisions. The study offers three implications on the design of livestock interventions to empower women, the interventions should ensure that; 1) women are not just owners of livestock assets but also share power and decision-making rights in all aspects of production, 2) production labour is shared equitably between men and women and, 3) women access benefits from livestock production even when animals are owned by men.

Abstract:
Background Animal-source foods are food items that come from animals. Animal-source foods provide a variety of micronutrients that plant-source foods cannot provide to the same extent and without extra precaution. Milk, eggs, poultry, flesh meat and fish are animal-source foods mainly used in Ethiopia. Low animal-source food consumption among children and mothers is a great concern in many low-income settings. This study aimed to describe animal-source food consumption frequencies among children aged 6–24 months and their mothers in rural southern Ethiopia where livestock farming is very common. We also analysed the association between livestock ownership and animal-source food consumption among children and mothers. Methods A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 851 randomly selected households with child-mother pairs from August to November 2018. The study was conducted in the rural Dale District, southern Ethiopia. Structured and pre-tested questionnaires were used to collect data on mother and child information, livestock ownership, and animal-source foods consumption frequencies. Ordinal logistic regression analysis was used to describe associations between animal-source foods consumption and livestock ownership. Result Nearly, three-quarters (74.1%) of the households owned cows, and a quarter (25%) had goats or sheep. Dairy, egg and meat consumption among children during the past month was 91.8%, 83.0% and 26.2%, respectively. Likewise, the consumption of dairy, eggs and meat among mothers was 96.0%, 49.5% and 34.0%, respectively. The percentage of children who had not consumed any animal-source foods during the month prior to our survey was 6.6%, and the figure was 2.2% for the mothers. Dairy consumption was 1.8 times higher among children (aOR = 1.8, 95% CI [1.3–2.5]) and 3.0 times higher among mothers (aOR = 3.0, 95% CI [2.2–4.2]) in households that kept cows than in households without cows. The egg consumption frequency was positively associated with hen and goat/sheep ownership for both children and mothers. Meat consumption frequency among children was negatively associated with cow ownership (aOR = 0.66, 95% CI [0.45–0.95]); however, cow ownership was not associated with meat consumption among mothers. Conclusion Dairy products were common animal-source foods consumed by young children and mothers in the study area. However, meat consumption was low among children and mothers. Strategies like promoting the keeping of goats/sheep and hens to improve complementary feeding and mothers’ nutrition are warranted in the study area.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the degree of corporate financial distress (DOFD) and relationship between ownership structure and the DOFD in China. Design/methodology/approach – The authors estimate the DOFD across a sample of 378 Chinese-listed companies that got into financial distress between 2000 and 2008. The DOFD reflects long-term solvency capability, short-term liquidity capability, development capability, risk level, profitability capability, operating capacity, and cash flow capability. The authors analyze the relationship between ownership structure and the DOFD in these companies, using the panel data analysis method. Findings – The authors find that a concentrated ownership structure is negatively related to the DOFD. Further, the results indicate that a state-owned status helps firms in decreasing their DOFD and that the separation of cash-flow rights and control rights is positively related to the DOFD. The authors also found that the Chinese special treatment (ST) system needs further improvement. The reason is that ST firms can be classified into “value” ST firms and “garbage” ST firms. They have different DOFD and change trend, so they should not be treated equally. Originality/value – This paper find that Chinese ST system and previous research are not helpful for risk-seeking investor to distinguish and evaluate “value” ST firms and “garbage” ST firms. It is unfair to warn and punish this two kinds of firms equally, so ST system should be improved. The authors also suggest that risk-seeking investor can choose ST firms that have a concentrated ownership structure and are controlled by the state or local government. These findings are not observed in previous studies.

Abstract:
The issuance of Single Ownership Policy stated in PBI No. 8/16//PBI/2006 has an implication on the controlling shareholders in more than one bank. The shareholders are given three choices to make adjustment of their structure of ownership in order to match it with the single ownership policy. One of the choices available is merger. At one side, merger can increase its capital and minimize the number of existing banks. On the order side, merger can also result in monopoly that inflicts loss to the fair business competition. The first objective of Financial Restructuring or Merger is to take measures that avert the impending insolvency and that ensure the sort-term survival of the business. This is the prerequisite for a sustainable restructuring process. The medium and long term goal of financial restructuring is reestablishment of a healthy and solid capital structure. In Bank Niaga and Lippo Bank merger process was driven by Single Presence Policy which normatively obligates the controlling share holders of a bank to consolidate its share possession by divesting their share, merging or even forming a holding company. One of the existing controlling share holder by far already got impacted by this policy is Khazanah National Berhad, a foreign investor from Malaysia, who used to control Bank Niaga and Lippo Bank. The SPP indicated its implementation in Indonesia, which foremost align with vision of Indonesian Banking Architecture which is to designate healthy, strong and dynamic national banking structure.

Abstract:
In a common pattern, journalists reject outside criticism and denounce the critics. Resistance to criticism sometimes follows a second pattern, one largely overlooked by scholars: Journalists kill a large-scale research project before it gets under way and thereby prevent criticisms from even being articulated. This monograph examines four major research projects that got canceled in the face of opposition from the press: studies of international news in the early 1920s, public opinion about the press in the late 1930s, press accuracy and ownership in the late 1930s, and coverage of a presidential campaign in the mid-1950s.

Abstract:
This paper presents the results of a survey of sheep and goat producers in Anambra State, (present day Enugu and Anambra State), Nigeria. The sampled areas represent the agroclimatic and administrative zones of the oid Anambra State. A total sample size of 310 spread over 5 LGAS and 25 village areas was drawn. Only households which kept sheep and/or goats at the time of the study were sampled. Data generated included demographic characteristics of small stock owners, sheep and goat distribution by household, management practices and problems associated with current management systems, sources of feed by season and livestock disease profile. Results of analyses showed that ownership distribution of animals was skewed in favour of goats. The mean flock size per household was 2.4 and 6.2 sheep and goats respectively. About 22% of the households interviewed kept sheep alone, another 62% kept goats alone. Over 85% of respondents acquired their foundation stock from the open market, while others came from neighbours flocks. Most respondents expressed the desire to increase their holdings with more wishing to expand their goat herd size than sheep. However, feeding was most frequently mentioned as a limiting factor in increasing sheep or goat herd size. Household wastes and cut forages were the major sources of animal feed. There was a very low awareness level of agroforestry practices, Only 5.2% and 2.3% of the respondents had any knowledge of Intensive Feed Gardening (IFG) and Alley farming (AF) respectively. Reported Smallholder Sheep and Goats Management mortality was low less than 3.5% in all herds studied). Implications for improved small ruminant production in Nigeria's humid zone are drawn.
