Abstract:
Research has been conducted on the grading of tourism establishments but little research has been conducted on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to increase the number of graded tourism establishments. The objective of this study was to identify variables influencing tourism grading and to use them to construct a Bayesian Model for increasing the number of tourism establishments. Data was collected using an online survey questionnaire developed using the Survey Monkey tool. A total of 87 responses were received from 60 non-graded and 27 graded tourism establishments. The results indicate six factors affecting tourism grading, namely cost of grading, grading benefits, simplicity/complexity of grading application process, government funding, training of prospective grading applicants and computer literacy. The results further indicate grading cost and grading benefits as the most important factors for increasing the number of tourism establishments. The study implies that using this model will assist grading professionals to make informed decisions on initiatives aimed at increasing the number of graded tourism establishments. The study is among the first on implementation of AI to increase tourism grading establishments.

Abstract:
As conveners that bring various stakeholders into the same physical space, firms can powerfully influence the course of pandemics such as coronavirus disease 2019. Even when operating under government orders and health guidelines, firms have considerable discretion to keep their establishments open or closed during a pandemic. We examine the role of social learning in the exercise of this discretion at the establishment level. In particular, we evaluate how the closure decisions of chain establishments, which are associated with national brands, affect those of proximate, same-industry community establishments, which are independently owned or managed. We conduct these analyses using cell phone location tracking data on daily visits to 230,403 U.S.-based community establishments that are colocated with chain establishments affiliated with 319 national brands. We disentangle the effects of social learning from confounding factors by using an instrumental variables strategy that relies on local variation in community establishments’ exposure to closure decisions made by brands at the national level. Our results suggest that closing decisions of community establishments are affected by the decisions made by chain establishments; a community establishment is 3.5% more likely to be open on a given day if the proportion of nearby open chain establishments increases by one standard deviation. Abstract:
The existence of anthropology as an academic and research discipline in Arunachal Pradesh is at infancy. The traditional ethnographic studies among the tribes were initiated by the early British administrators, missionaries, travellers, explorers, etc. Professor Furer-Haimendorf and Verrier Elwin were perhaps the first professional anthropologist and ethnographer to delve into the various cultural aspects of Arunachal tribes. The official recognition of the discipline took place with the introduction of Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies (AITS) in 1995 under Arunachal University (Now Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh) which was established in 1984; for which anthropology as a discipline was introduced in 2001. The establishment of the Directorate of Research, Government of Arunachal Pradesh and introduction of Anthropology at the University and College levels significantly count towards the development of this discipline in the state. Research contributions have been witnessed over time in the field of social and cultural aspects of the tribes. Though not completely absent, researches on physical-biological aspects, genetic studies, linguistic and archaeology, growth, nutrition and health have been witnessed but limited. Taking into consideration the broad scope of Anthropology as a discipline of holistic approach, this paper urge for a need of wider coverage of studies in terms of research, projects, and publications in developing tribal state like Arunachal Pradesh. The relevance of Anthropology in the state could be ensured through rigorous research taken up at various levels of standard, support from the government, collaboration between academic institutions and funding agencies. At the same time, its dimension and scope as a relevant research and academic discipline could be broadened and expanded through addressing new research questions, formulation of hypotheses, and through standard conduct of empirical researches.

Abstract:
The goal of the research was to construct a model for calculating the Tourism Development Index (TDI) at the local level. TDI is based on ten indicators: total number of beds, total number of beds per 100 residents, number of beds in hotels and similar establishments, number of beds in hotels and similar establishments per 100 residents, number of tourist arrivals, number of tourist arrivals per capita, number of overnight stays, number of overnight stays per capita, number of employed in tourism and hospitality and share of employed in tourism and hospitality in total employment. Based on TDI, 556 cities/towns and municipalities were categorised into five classes. Due to the usage of both absolute and relative values, TDI recognises the tourism development better than the previously used indices.

Abstract:
The Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (AWAC) was established in July 1996, to consider the care, welfare and use of animals involved in procedures for defence research purposes at Defence and Evaluation Research Agency (DERA) establishments in the UK. Two of the objectives of AWAC are to examine the broad trends in animal use at DERA establishments, and to implement and audit the application of the Three Rs principle. AWAC's sixth report addressed the period from 31 October 2000 to 28 February 2002. The statistics of animal use within the report are briefly examined, and some of the actions undertaken by defence research establishments to facilitate the application of the Three Rs are highlighted. It is recommended that, if possible (subject to security constraints), figures detailing the severity of the procedures undertaken should be included in future issues of the report, in order to provide a more-detailed account. It is concluded that Defence Science and Technology Laboratory establishments have made a contribution to the Three Rs, and that other establishments may be able to incorporate some of their actions into their own research programmes. There was an overall 36% increase in the number of procedures carried out by defence research establishments between 1995 and 2000, from 8,900 to 12,065. This probably reflects alterations in the research programme, which is, in turn, decided primarily by the Ministry of Defence's customers and the progress made with previous research programmes. It is therefore recommended that the UK Government allocates significantly more financial resources for the development and validation of alternatives, in order to maximise the potential for achieving the Three Rs in defence research, and to complement the existing initiatives within the defence research industry.

Abstract:
The article highlights the main issues of international and financial regulation of the higher education establishment management. The study analyses the financial support of state, municipal and private establishments according to their autonomy. It indicates that one of the main funding sources for state higher education establishments in Ukraine is funds from various budget levels. The paper points out that higher education establishments can be financed from the other sources that are not prohibited by national legislation: payment for the educational services, grant income, research, rent, charitable funds, etc. The research also determines that establishments need to conform to the principles of targeted and effective use of funds, as well as publicity and transparency in decision-making. The previously received additional funds can only be used to carry out the statutory activities of a higher education establishment following the requirements of current legislation. The paper investigates the concept of government spending indicator per student to assess the financing of higher education establishments management, and a comparative analysis of the financial support of European countries. The article figures out the legislation of Ukraine and individual countries of the world regarding the financial support of higher education establishments. It establishes the importance of implementing a financing model of higher education establishments based on the results of their activities and determines that in accordance with the provisions of the Budget Code of Ukraine, the amount of state budget expenditures on higher education is distributed among higher education establishments based on a formula developed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. It highlights the main parameters of the formula, namely, the number of students by levels of higher education and subject areas, and the ratio of the educational services' cost; the level of results of students' external independent evaluation; the quality indicators of educational and scientific activities of higher education establishments. The research suggests ways to improve the financial management of higher education establishments in Ukraine.

Abstract:
This study analyzes the association between exposure to various economic establishments, such as retail stores and schools, and walking and cycling at the individual level. Instead of using a land use mix indicator applied in many previous studies, 17 types of establishments were investigated, based on the North American Industrial Classification System, located within individuals’ activity spaces. The 2017 Wisconsin Add-On to the National Household Travel Survey was used to compute the density of establishments for two different activity space measurements: (1) time-weighted one standard deviational ellipses, and (2) convex hulls. Among the significant results agreed on by both activity space measurements, walking and cycling are positively associated with exposure to educational services and public administration establishments, and negatively associated with exposure to finance and insurance establishments. The results indicate a possible strategy: active travel promotion could leverage the potential for schools and local government offices to serve as anchor institutions for health-promoting travel behavior. In addition to strategies for the built environment, the research also suggests that physical activity encouragement could target individuals, such as workers, who probably have exposure to establishments with a negative association with active travel, such as in the finance and insurance sector.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to test the effects of government policies on entrepreneurial activity within the 50 US states. Design/methodology/approach – Using panel data and a fixed-effects model, the authors examine the determinants of the nominal establishment entry rate, the nominal establishment exit rate, and the net establishment entry rate. To measure government policy, the authors use the Economic Freedom of North America (EFNA) index published by the Fraser Institute. The authors use both the overall index and its components. The authors also use the state and local tax burden published by the Tax Foundation. Findings – The authors find that a smaller government is associated with a net increase in business establishments. A freer labor market is also associated with a net increase in business establishments. However, the relationship between the tax burden and entrepreneurship is more complex. Using a measurement of the tax burden from the Fraser Institute, the authors find that an increase in taxes is associated with a net decrease in businesses, but the measurement from the Tax Foundation suggests that an increase in taxes is associated with a net increase in businesses. Research limitations/implications – The results can help policy makers recognize the effects of expenditure and regulation on business formation. Practical implications – However, the results do not send a clear message on the effects of taxes on entrepreneurship. Originality/value – The contribution to the literature is the examination of the effect of the components economic freedom on net business entry in the USA, along with comparing the effects of two measurements of tax burden on net business entry.

Abstract:
A research gap in the scientific literature has arisen concerning the challenge faced by actors who formulate public policies on the compatibility between economic activities and sustainable development in the Amazon. The main question that guided this study was whether the organizations of the social and solidarity economy (SSE), in the form of family farming cooperatives and associations, are sufficiently consolidated in the Brazilian Legal Amazon. To achieve the intended objective, the authors used the ArcGIS Pro 10.8 software with an exploratory analysis of spatial data (AEDE). Specifically, the mapping clusters tool was used to present and discuss the distribution of establishments and enterprises in a municipality. The database was the “2017 Agricultural Census” from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the most recent official government data available. Establishments and enterprises of family farming in the 772 municipalities of the Legal Amazon with credit access in a period between August 2017 and February 2019 were selected for analysis. We confirmed the hypothesis that SSE projects are essential to achieve sustainability in the Amazon. In addition, this study suggests that this model can be an essential alternative to support public policies for the sustainable development of the biome.

Abstract:
The Internet-of-Things (IoT) is a wireless technology that offers opportunities for Government-Agencies (GA) to improve services to citizens. However, the challenge is to ensure that the IoT is fully utilized as the real value of using IoT services comes from the establishments of services through effective utilization of technologies. This paper aims to develop a conceptual model for successful implementation of IoT services in GA which is one of the least essential studied aspects of utilization of Digital-Government services. This study proposes a new integrated success model that combines the dimensions of Technology-Readiness-Index (TRI) 2.0 with other success factors – service quality, information quality, system quality, user satisfaction, use (from DeLone&McLean Information-System-Success-Model), perceived usefulness (from Technology-Acceptance-Model), and trust construct to understand the determinants of IoT services success model in GA from the perspective of government officers. Interviews with Government-IoT experts are conducted to define and delineate the research problem. The proposed model could bring a better perspective of the critical factors that contribute to the success of IoT services implementation process particularly in GA as well as providing a groundwork for further empirical testing. Moreover, it will suggest an appropriate implementation mechanism to help GA increase the use of IoT services.

This research is dedicated to examination of the systems of legal regulation and government regulation of the activity of minors on the Internet. The novelty of this works is substantiated by introduction of new empirical material into the scientific discourse. It is stated that practice of the developed countries is characterized with normative consolidation of heightened obligations of business structures that render Internet services and access to digital infrastructure. The practice of mandatory age verification of the consumers became widespread among commercial structures. The scope of responsibilities of oversight bodies with regards to activity of website owners, providers, mobile operators, sellers of gadgets and other equipment, cultural and educational establishments that provide Internet access to minors has been significantly increased. The described measures in regulation of the Internet activity of minors also suggest parental assistance. The author comes to a conclusion that the established in foreign countries system of legal regulation of the behavior of minors on the Internet, as well as the existing practice of social life in this sphere, may be implemented by the Russian Federation into national legislation.

Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic is responsible for a health crisis and, at the same time, for a sharp drop in activities of economic sustainability, particularly in tourism management, and has consequences in most countries that are still difficult to measure. The objective of this research is to identify restaurant entrepreneurs’ perceptions about the future, government measures, strategies they will apply, and lessons learned for the future after the mandatory lockdown of restaurants and hospitality establishments related to pandemics. The framework was developed through content analysis with line-by-line coding applied to questionnaires collected online from Portuguese restaurant entrepreneurs. The results reveal the existence of common concerns to all entrepreneurs in the restaurant business for the post-pandemic period, about the measures that the governments should implement, and about the strategies and lessons learned for the future. Resilience in face of the future, fear of a lack of appropriate government measures, strategies designed for markets with greater immediate availability, and the creation of working capital are visible concerns in the restaurant business.

Abstract:
Philippine research productivity in neurology has not been fully characterized. We investigated the research output of adult and child neurologists in the Philippines and correlated this to the Philippine socioeconomic and healthcare indices among different regions. We used electronic databases to retrieve studies published by Filipino neurologists using the 2022 Philippine Neurological Association website as reference. We included all studies published until December 2021. Official government region-specific socioeconomic indices were used. Correlational analysis was completed on bibliometric indices and collected data. We retrieved 746 articles from 274 of 526 Filipino neurologists which were published in 245 publications over 45 years with 12,409 citations. The National Capital Region (NCR) had the most publications (n = 662, 88.7%) and citations (n = 10,377, 83.6%). Research productivity was positively correlated with population, gross domestic product (GDP), health expenditure, number of healthcare establishments, neurologists, and research personnel. The Philippine research landscape is dominated by articles of neurologists belonging to institutions in the NCR, which has the greatest number of neurologists, training institutions, and highest GDP. There is a need to address the disparity seen in other regions to bridge gaps in healthcare, health human resources, and health information through research.

Abstract:
This study explores the contribution of tourism for employment generation that is also a major part of individual as well as national income. This is a strong pillar of the national income that may promote and upgrade the economic level of the citizens through service sectors. On the basis of secondary sources, this study has been analyzed the trend of employment generation due to tourism industry in government and private levels. Tourism industry helps not only for government level employment like: in Ministry of Tourism (MOT), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and Tourism Information Center (TIC) but it supports to the private sectors such as : Star Hotels, Tourist Standard Hotels (TSH), Home Stay (private and community),Tracking Agency, Travel Agency, Rafting Agency, International Airlines, Domestic Airlines, Paragliding, Tourist Transportation, and others( Porter, Guide, cook, Ultra-light) also. Descriptive research design, quantitative research method and average sampling have been applied in this research for proper analysis because of its nature. Secondary data of a decade have been selected and analyzed during this research. Under the guidance of economic growth model, development theory associates with Adam Smith, David Ricardo, Malthus, Karl Marx, and Rostow, has been applied. This study has moreover shown that the trend of employment in tourism sector has been increasing drastically during a decade which has been supported by table no 1, 2 and 3. Analyzing secondary data which was collected during the period of 2008/09 to 2017/18, this study has concluded that inadequate infrastructure, inadequate promoting activities and regularity mechanism, political unrest, lack of skilled human resources and unhealthy competition among tourism establishments were some major barriers faced by the tourism sector for employment generation. This study suggested that the government should develop tourism infrastructure including road, electricity and communication, and tourism promoting activities in government and non-government organizations. There is also an urgent need to invest more on improving hospitality skill of employees for quality tourism in Nepal.

Abstract:
Methodology / Approach: To identify the relationship between parameters of teleworking and its success rate in the governmental agencies of Fars province. Population and Statistical Sample: All the inspectors in the Bureau of Labor and Social Affairs, that include 21 members from the operator information “118”, 50 members from the Fars province Telecommunications ministry, with and a total population of teleworkers of n=71 were studied in this research, of which 20 inspectors from the of Fars province and 30 operators information office enquiries “118”, therefore a total n=50 completed the Teleworking questionnaires. Purpose of this study: To evaluate the relationship between the dependent variable (success teleworking) and 5 independent variables (1.rules and regulations 2. the support of Top management 3. perceived benefits of teleworking 4. Trust 5. Culture). Analysis: Descriptive and inferential statistics were carried out, including Pearson correlation, linear regression and multistage regression. Conclusion: The results of this study clearly show that compliance with the Constraints and limitations had a direct and significant impact on the success of teleworking. An interesting point, in this study, is that the simultaneous linear regression model results indicate a significant relationship at relatively high level (69%) between requirements of each of the variables with the success of telework. The results of multiple regression indicate that with regards to the simultaneous effects of the variables consisting of 1.Top management supported 2. Trust 3, Rules and Regulations, 4.Culture, there was a significant correlation with successful teleworking. However, the perceived benefits variable was not significant in the model, and as such the simultaneous effect the cycle was removed. In the information age, with the fast development of systems technologies and telecommunications, a telework program is not just a likely option but a clever and strategic business decision.

Abstract:
The city of Slavonski Brod has been intensively developing as a tourist destination. Although the main motives for the arrival of tourists are business and family gatherings and other types of social events, and "food and accommodation" in cases of guests in transit, tourist traffic shows a tendency to grow which implicitly leads to an increase in accommodation. From the data of the eVisitor system, it is evident that more progressive growth is recorded in non-hotel compared to hotels and similar accommodation establishments. This is primarily due to the fact that, in the circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic and the conditions in which the hospitality sector operates under the epidemiological measures, family accommodation owners continue to operate relatively well (in the period from January to December 2020 family accommodation recorded a decrease of 31,71% compared to the same period in 2019, which is even 14,27% less than the average decline at the level of all city accommodation establishments). The research goals of this paper were to determine the attitude of local population regarding apartmentization and to find out if the owners of private rooms/apartments intend to provide accommodation services in future, and/or expand/modernize existing accommodation units. In the research we applied a questionnaire among local citizens and in-depth interviews with several owners of family accommodation as methods. The hypothesis we tried to prove was that both the growth and the quality of family accommodation in a destination is in the function of its tourist development. The research results should motivate the local population that has excess living space to provide accommodation services as additional activity and assist local government units in adopting measures to encourage private entrepreneurship in tourism.

Abstract:
This research aimed to conduct a survey of the disposal and collection of expired drugs in pharmacies and drugstores in the city of Pombal - PB, and verify the perception of residents on this subject. The methodology used consisted in the application of two questionnaires, one for the establishments, and the other for the residents, and later, the data were processed. Of the pharmacies that answered the questionnaire, 50% said they received the drugs and intended for a private company specialized for incineration, and the other 50% said they did not perform such action. About the habit of keeping medicines at home, 95% of the interviewees stated that they store medications in the residence, and of these, 91% reported taking all care to leave it out of reach of children. Regarding the disposal of expired drugs, the majority discards in the common waste (68%) or in the sink/toilet (23%). In the matter, the majority (91%) stated that they had not received any instruction on the disposal and storage of expired medicines. Even if not receiving information on the subject, it is clear that most are aware of the risks of irregular disposal. It is concluded that most of the interviewees are aware of the negative impacts, but still perform the inadequate disposal, probably because there is no greater orientation of government agencies. It is necessary and urgent compliance with the laws by the establishments, and greater dissemination to the population.

Abstract:
Hospitality and tourism industry has a significant part to play in Malawi's economy. The industry has created jobs and contributes to foreign currency generation. In view of this importance, a research was conducted from 250 hospitality and tourism establishments in Malawi to determine and evaluate any problems currently faced by the industry. The research identified that the industry is facing some impediments in physical infrastructure development, management, lack of ICT Technologies and marketing. The industry is also characterized by lack or insufficient related rules and policies, high bank interest rates, erratic electricity and high levels of corruption by government officials. The methodology for the research included the online questionnaire and telephone interviews to a sample of 250 participants. Only 194 participants responded to the questionnaire. The targeted group was managers and the owners of the hospitality and tourism business entities. The findings were analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. It is believed that quantitative approach gives a lot of information and is easier to compile the data onto a chart or graph because of the numbers that are made available. On other hands, qualitative techniques are easier to gain a better understanding of the research findings.

Abstract:
The article offers insight into various approaches to developing contemporary Slovenian playwriting at the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century. It lists existing formal and informal educational opportunities for playwrights, methods of cultivating new writing and various public presentation formats of new Slovenian dramatic writing and the recent development of its staging in Slovenia. The author presents quantitative data on the percentage of Slovenian scripts staged in government-funded theatres and the variations of this percentage over the last two decades. The author’s analysis is based on an extensive questionnaire which includes both quantitative and qualitative research methods examining the processes and circumstances of writing contemporary Slovenian drama from the viewpoints of its various stakeholders: playwrights, translators, dramaturgs, directors, artistic directors and general managers of government-funded public cultural establishments, NGOs or private theatres, editors, publishers, teachers and the representatives of public funding bodies. The findings show a lack of understanding of the creation processes of contemporary Slovenian playwriting by representatives of its peripheral professions (i.e., non-authors). The research results also reveal the consequences of the field’s long-lasting insufficient funding and lack of an expert workforce. Based on the research results, the author proposes possible future directions for the efficient development of contemporary Slovenian playwriting. These proposals include staging, commissioning and long-term theatre residencies for playwrights, as well as establishing a specialised venue aimed exclusively at staging contemporary Slovenian plays.

Abstract:
This paper explores the stakeholder perceptions on the development of rural tourism in Namibia. The stakeholders include Government and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), local communities and tourism establishments. It focuses on two northern regions of Namibia. Kunene region has the largest number of conservancies and Zambezi region is considered the richest region in terms of natural diversity. The research paper utilises descriptive phenomenological principles. Consequently, the approach helped in understanding the rural tourism concept from the stakeholders’ point of view and examine their contribution to the development of rural tourism. The main finding is that the influence of rural tourism development will remain minimal unless all the stakeholders understand the concept of rural tourism and are involved in the development of rural tourism strategies. Hence, the paper reinforces the significance of encouraging active participation of all stakeholders involved in the rural tourism development initiatives.

Abstract:
This is an empirical study of the origin, demographics and fate of two cohorts of high-growth firms in New Zealand. Customised data on high-growth firms, covering 1125 and 1067 firms in the 2005 and 2008 cohorts, respectively, came from government sources. High-growth firms are smaller, more likely to emerge in service industries and grow through the creation of multiple separate establishments. The ability to sustain high-growth is independent of pre-growth age and employment size. High-growth firms have death rates up to four times greater than other contemporary firms, but the survivors do retain their employment size, continuing to contribute disproportionately to employment for some years beyond their initial high-growth phase. The demonstrated inability of high-growth firms to sustain high growth suggests a rethink on how ‘high growth’ is defined, with future research focusing on sustained growth firms.

Abstract:
This integrative review of research on workplace violence in Canada and the United States showed that risk factors for homicide and nonfatal assault injuries differed significantly. In 1993, there were 1,063 work-related homicides in the United States (Bureau of Labor Statistics, 1994). Workplace homicide was the second leading cause of fatal occupational injuries overall, but the primary cause for women. The highest risk for workplace homicide was observed among males, the self-employed, and those employed in grocery stores, eating and drinking establishments, gas service stations, taxicab services, and government service, including law enforcement. The majority of workplace homicides occurred during robberies. Unlike workplace homicide, the majority of nonfatal assaults that involved lost work time occurred to women, primarily employed in health care or other service sector work. The assault rates for residential care and nursing and personal care workers were more than ten times that of private non-health care industries. Minimal intervention research has been reported. In recent years, some governmental agencies and professional organizations have begun to address policy issues related to workplace violence.

Abstract:
Labor Laws are made to govern and protect the rights of the workers, thus they are amended whenever warranted to ensure the welfare of the working class, while at the same time upholding the economic productivity and prosperity of the industrial sector. This imperative has attained ordinal importance in the light of the economic integration of the Philippines with ASEAN. Under Article 128 of the Labor Code of the Philippines, the Secretary of Labor and Employment is mandated to conduct routine inspections to assess the compliance of the business establishments with labor standards. In an effort to ease and simplify the inspection process, the DOLE, on July 19, 2013, promulgated the Department Order 131-13 series of 2013, known as “Rules on Labor Laws Compliance System” which contains the new rules and regulations in the implementation of local labor legislation. This paper examined the meaning, coverage, benefits, implications, and implementation of the Labor Laws Compliance System (LLCS) on business establishments in Cebu (inclusive of the province’s component cities and municipalities). Cebu is an island province in the Central Region of the Philippines, with Cebu City as its capital. The growth of Cebu City has influenced incremental economic ripples to its neighboring cities and municipalities leading to a highly urbanized industrial and commercial sprawl called Metro Cebu. The study employed as research methods documentary inspection and analyses, supplemented by in-depth interviews. The informants included government officials and civil servants, executives and managers, labor leaders and private sector employees.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to describe the state institutions and public organizations promoting exports in the Russian Empire in the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, as well as to highlight the activities of similar structures on Ukrainian lands. Research methods: systemic, structural-functional, typological, comparative-historical, problem-chronological, statistical, analytical-synthetic. Main results. In the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries the implementation of the export promotion measures was primarily among the tasks of the state bodies of trade and industry (agencies within the structure of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Railways, as well as consuls, government commercial agents, etc.), public representative associations were gradually involved in this process entrepreneurs (industry, territorial and all-imperial unions of the representatives of trade and industrial status), special binational chambers of commerce (Russian-English, Russian-Italian, Russian-French, etc.) are formed, as well as the Russian Export Chamber, as the final part of the system of protection of the export trade interests. Concise conclusions. The system of institutions and export promotion organizations in the Russian Empire, which emerged during the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, turned out to be very colorful and diverse: on the initiative of creation – the government, public, joint (public and governmental); according to its competence – diplomatic, specialized export, a wide range of trade and economic tasks. All of them became an integral part of the economic development of the country, had a significant influence (especially private associations of entrepreneurs) on the formation of the civil society on the basis of self-organization, enterprise, initiative and responsibility. Practical significance. The materials of the article can form the theoretical basis for developing effective mechanisms for the development of modern domestic exports, increasing the turnover of Ukraine in the world market at the expense of organized representation in the form of binary chambers of commerce and industry, the creation of special export structures and the reformation of existing export missions. Originality. On the basis of the sources of the government and social origin, a wide array of materials of periodicals of the second half of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries organization forms of export promotion in the Russian Empire were generalized and structured, their typology is presented; the peculiarities of institutional processes on the issues of export on Ukrainian lands were traced, their place in general imperial processes is determined, and the high degree of activity of representative organizations of entrepreneurs of Ukrainian lands is shown. Scientific novelty. The look at the organization of foreign trade from the point of view of the activities of state and public institutions is suggested, their development from official forms through the public to the joint public-governmental entities of export promotion is offered. Abstract:
The paper provides an overview of entrepreneurial innovation and aspiration in the United Arab Emirates to help policy makers facilitate Emirati entrepreneurs establish small and medium size enterprises that develop and utilize new technology and innovation through research and development. The findings indicate that firstly, business activity in the UAE among Emiratis is concentrated in consumer and service oriented ventures, such as retail, restaurants, health, education and social services. Secondly, UAE businesses in general are skilled at technology adoption, but not technology innovation. Thirdly, it has been found that new and young businesses in the UAE have minimal involvement in the high/medium technology sectors. These findings indicate that the UAE government should focus on developing a highly innovative entrepreneurial sector and on supporting high value added new companies that have the potential to grow and to develop internationally. For this to take place and to create efficient support programs that add value, policy makers and business developers need to collaborate with universities and research establishments to develop support systems that work towards supply oriented policies by focusing on innovation, infrastructure and ecological sustainability, rather than on the traditional tools of local demand.

Abstract:
The critical role of research in overall progress generates a pressing need to study the relationship between a city and knowledge-based innovation. A number of socio-economic and political processes influence the development of contemporary cities by defining the beneficial balance between financial ambitions, environmental awareness and sustainability. Consequently, the role of innovation and knowledge has been emphasized as one of the crucial generators of urban success. The most recent initiatives originating from universities and research establishments stimulate the emergence of new spatial formations and digital upgrading, thus setting up a fertile environment for intellectual exchange and the production and diffusion of knowledge and innovations. This article questions the historical, social and technological implications of research on urban space. The focus is set on the case of Belgrade and the newly proposed project of a university campus with its evaluation based on the latest concepts related to the economy of knowledge. This new type of knowledge-based innovation node is intended to serve as a driver of Belgrade?s inclusion into the global network of innovative cities. However, this initiative is still in the domain of paper-architecture due to financial limitations and a change in development priorities by the new government.

Abstract: This article examines the conferring of honorary doctorates in Indonesian universities, which has increased significantly in the last twenty years, 2000-2020. This research applies the document analysis method; data obtained from public documents from government, universities, magazines, and newspapers. Normatively, the university conferred the Doctor Honoris Causa to individuals with outstanding service or work and contributed to science, technology, culture, humanity, and society. The study reveals that the Indonesian authorities have issued three amended regulations regarding honorary doctorates between 2000-2020. This policy provides increased flexibility to universities in determining the awarding of honorary degrees compared to previous regulations. This research has uncovered an evolutionary trajectory of shifting away from awarding the honorary doctorates to the academic community towards non-academic and even political circles and public officials. Such a policy or practice invites criticisms that this signifies an exchange of interests between campus leaders and the power establishment in Indonesia. The analysis of this research reveals that with the decentralization of power during the post-reformation era, there is a transformation of institutional logic of higher education from recognizing knowledge advancement and scientific contributions of members of intelligentsia towards empowering the legitimacy of ruling establishments, especially among politicians and powerful public officials.

Abstract:
Tourists spend a good portion of their travel budget on food and beverages. Culinary preference knowledge should thus be important to numerous stakeholders. Little is, however, known about the determinants of culinary preferences of international tourists. Furthermore, in the context of developing countries, very little has been published about cuisine in tourism. The purpose of this research is to identify the determinants of culinary preferences of international tourists to South Africa. A newly developed questionnaire based on literature was completed by 627 international tourists. Five culinary preference factors were identified from the results of the study, namely social influence, culture and religion, exploration, the culinary experience and environmental sensitivity. Social influence was the most important factor, followed by environmental sensitivity and then the culinary experience. Only two socio-demographic variables were found to influence the culinary preferences of international tourists to South Africa. Implications for each of the findings are put forth. Specific recommendations are also made to national and provincial government, tourism marketers and dining establishments alike, in order to reap the numerous benefits associated with culinary preference knowledge.

Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to determine the effect of institutional – systemic environment for the development of accommodation facilities and gastronomic establishments and catering points operating in the Lublin region. The research conducted in 11 districts on a sample of 317 operators in the spring of 2013 also enabled the identification of the needs of entrepreneurs in the field of desirable changes in institutional-systemic environment in the future. The greatest difficulty in running a gastronomic and accommodation business is the current policy of the government, which does not sufficiently take into account the interests of the tourism industry. The functioning tax system is perceived by respondents as an unfavorable one. The aid organizations supporting the development of tourism and entrepreneurship, and the availability of EU aid programs are the most conducive growth factors. Businessmen feel the urge to change the existing tax system and to improve the situation regarding the possibility and easiness of raising capital from external financing sources. Local governments while preparing future strategies of socio-economic development should take into priorities for the development of tourism and entrepreneurship.

Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the level of satisfaction on the use of e-commerce to customers of food establishments in Dipolog City amidst the CoVid19 pandemic this academic year 2021-2022. Specific questions were answered, namely: the profile of the respondents in terms of age, sex, educational attainment, civil status, occupation, and type of gadget used; the level of satisfaction of the respondents on the use of e-commerce in terms of e-marketing, platforms, and customers’ feedback; test for the significant difference in the level of satisfaction of the respondents on the use of e-commerce when analyzed according to their profile; the problems met or challenges encountered in the use of e-commerce; and test for the significant relationship between the respondents’ level of satisfaction and the problems met or encountered on the use of e-commerce. This study used the descriptive quantitative correlational method of research utilizing questionnaire as its principal tool of gathering data. The study was conducted among 193 residents of different barangays in Dipolog City during the calendar year 2022. The researcher-made questionnaire was used. Items of the questionnaires were gathered from the readings of the literature on e-commerce. The questionnaire was subjected for content and construct validity using Cronbach’s Alpha test to measure the internal consistency of the questionnaire. The statistical analysis of the data included the use of frequency counting and percentage, weighted average mean and standard deviation. Tests of inference were done using the t-test, Kruskal-Wallis test and the Spearman rho correlation coefficient. Statistical analyses were run using the SPSS and online data analysis calculators. The majority of the respondents belonged to age brackets 33-47 years old with 102 or 52.85 percent from the 193 respondents, mostly females, college graduate, married, working in the government, and used cellular phones. Most of the respondents were highly satisfied on the use of applications and platforms as these lead to prompt and on-time food delivery. There is no significant difference in the level of satisfaction when grouped according to age, sex, educational attainment, civil status, occupation, and type of gadget used. The use of e-commerce may not be the crucial factor affecting their problems and challenges. Concerned agencies may look into their policies of providing regulations. Future researches may be conducted to look into other factors that may have impact on the satisfaction level of the consumers in the food industry.

Abstract:
Urban green spaces are rapidly deteriorating in most parts of Nigeria. The study assessed open grown trees composition and diversity in selected Research Institutes within Ibadan Region with the aim of comparing the ecological diversity in the study locations. This was achieved through species identification and mensuration of all open grown trees species that were accessible in the study areas. Open grown trees with Diameter at breast height ≥ 10cm were assessed for growth characteristics of total height and diameter at breast height. Basal area and volume were estimated from measured growth characteristics. Tree species were identified by a taxonomist at Federal Herbarium in Ibadan. Biodiversity indices of Shannon diversity index, species evenness and species dominance were computed to see variation in tree community of the areas. The Shannon diversity index calculated was higher in IITA with a value of 3.04 compared to that of CRIN with a value of 2.36. A dominance value of 0.15 and 0.05 was obtained for CRIN and IITA respectively. The study concludes that both institutes are repository of large diversity of tree species thereby, helping in the conservation of biodiversity while ameliorating weather. It is recommended that educational institutions from all levels located within the region as well as private organizations and individuals should plant trees within their domains in order to create conducive green environments that would promote sustainable environment in the region. This is possible when government provide adequate incentive and annual rewards for establishments with the best green environments.

Abstract:
In managing the COVID-19 pandemic, the Malaysian government enforced mandatory body temperature screening as a rudimentary form of infection detection at the entry points of establishments and public transportation. However, previous iterations of IoT body temperature screening systems were bulky, fragile, expensive, and designed for personal use instead of the screening of many people. Therefore, a standalone, portable, and rugged IoT-enabled body temperature screening system for detecting elevated temperatures was developed in this research work. This system uses a proximity sensor to detect subjects and determine their body temperature using a non-contact temperature sensor. Body temperature data is displayed on the device and uploaded over a Wi-Fi network to a cloud server for data storage and analysis. From the cloud server, body temperature information is retrieved and displayed on the Blynk IoT client dashboard for remote monitoring. The device also provides alerts for body temperatures above 37.5 °C. The prototype system performed impressively during the assessment. Body temperature readings were impressively accurate compared to a medical-grade non-contact thermometer, with an average variance of less than 1%. Additionally, the system was highly reliable, with a 100% IoT data broadcast success rate.

Abstract:
Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) reviewed from aspect f the country towards which they are directed, carry positive, but also potential negative effects. The research, whose results are presented in this work, includes evaluation of the attitude and of the public opinion and business establishments in the companies which are a result of the FDI, regardin the effects from the FDI and the overall significance for the economic and social development of Macedonia. The results of the research show that most of of the population is partially, as much as it is present in the media for public information, familiar with the FDI in Macedonia. Most frequent reasons for not being informed are the lack of interest, social elements, and the opinion that the information about the FDI in Macedonia is inspired politically, for promoting the government. The largest part of the population believes that the attitude towards the FDI should not be judged as positive or negative in advance, but the and that the effects from the FDI should be analyzed for each specific case. The most significant effect from the the FDI in Macedonia is the employment increase, both according to the public opinion and the business establishments of the FDI-resulted companies. Besides contributing to the employment, other most significant positive effects from the FDIs in Macedonia are: transfer of new technologies, transfer of knowledge, managerial experiences and skills of the foreign investors; positive influence of the FDI for strenghtening the competitiveness in the macedonian economy, better material position of the employees and indirectly, to a better social standard. The most significant negative effects which the FDIs could have in Macedonia are reaching profit on account of smaller salaries for the employees, avoiding tax responsibilities, arrangements with the authorities and possible influence on the political flows by the direct foreign investors in order to reach positive business environment by damaging other companies, whereas the public opinion evaluates as the biggest negative effect – reaching profit though small salaries to the employees, while the business establichment – the possible influence on the political flows in order to achieve appropriate business environment.

Abstract:
Transborder crimes are criminal activities that transverse borders of two or more countries. Notable crimes that flourish across Nigerian’s borders are illicit drug trafficking, Terrorism, proliferation of small arms and light weapons ( SALWs), Human trafficking, internet fraud, oil theft, smuggling of goods among others. All these activities have precipitated security and economic complications across West Africa sub region. The 2022 Global peace Index ranked Nigeria 143 among 163 independent Nations and Territories according to the level of peacefulness while Cato Institute a Washington DC based public policy research organization rated Nigeria as the most unsafe place on earth after Iraq. This phenomenal rise of criminal ratings of Nigeria had attracted local and international attentions of scholars, policy makers and governments. Thus, this study investigates Transborders crimes in Nigeria using qualitative research methodology by reviewing the existing literature and conducting in-depth interviews of 85 informants selected randomly from government establishments and among stakeholders in Nigeria. The study relied on rational choice theory and behavioural theory as theoretical frameworks. The study revealed that Transborder crimes thrive across the West African nations because of many factors which include but not limited to the implementation of ECOWAS protocol on free movement of persons and goods, porous borders, youth unemployment, poverty, poorly trained and ill-equipped security personnel, corruption, poor inter-agency coordination and collaboration. The study concluded that despite various measures by the Nigerian government and International organizations like ECOWAS, UNO, AU to checkmate the scourge, the desired results have not been achieved. The study therefore recommended effective border monitoring and management, job creation, community policing initiative, increased military actions and surveillance, among others as panacea to Transborder crimes detection, reduction and prevention.

Abstract:
The popularity of Mountain Biking (MTB) in Malaysia is increasing. This adds to the demand for more cycling sites and special events for MTB. In line the growing demand, the Malaysian government encourages participation in active sports and recreation as a healthy lifestyle. One of the approaches is through the establishment of the Putrajaya Challenge Park (PCP). This study is conducted at PCP, one of a well-known MTB site in Malaysia. It has a network of treks where these treks are rated with different difficulty level for cyclists to choose from according to their abilityandpreferences. MTB is known to be associated with risks and high technical skills, hence it is great interest to understand the factors affecting demand in such sport. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the factors affecting the demand in MTB participation at PCP. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and obtained a total of 302 usable questionnaires. A multiple linear regression analysis is employed and it is found that three factors were significant at 95% confidence level; total travel cost, years of participation and cost of equipment upgrades. The finding from the study is to supply PCP management with the information for future adventurous recreational events in PCP or in other similar establishments. This research also identifies some key findings and makes some recommendations for future research and management.
