Full textJacquet, d’aucy, Béghin-Say or Labeyrie... What do these brands have in common? These brands are part of the everyday life of French consumers, though not many actually know they are owned by agricultural cooperatives. If these brands communicated their cooperative status on the market, would this be considered by consumers to be an added value? This doctoral dissertation focuses on the role played by consumers’ social representation in relation to the producer’s governance mode, as part of the product evaluation. This work aims to answer this central research question according to three sub-questions. The first one focuses on the content and structure of the social representation of French consumers regarding cooperatives. The second question analyzes the influence of this social representation on the categorization and evaluation of cooperatives’ offerings, taking into account the mediating role of the level of congruence between the offer and this social representation. The third question addresses the effect of cooperative labelling and arguments on the attitudes and behavioral intentions of consumers. In particular, this sub-question evaluates the levels of congruence and centrality of the arguments with the considered social representation. Therefore, the social representation of cooperatives and its influence are studied and discussed in seven studies, though a multi-method approach. From a theoretical point of view, this research highlights that the social representation of cooperatives echoes consumers’ CSR concerns; this explains the beneficial effect of a label or a mention on this governance status. From a methodological point of view, this research uses original methods (hybrid and implicit methods) in addition to those that are traditionally used in marketing. From a managerial point of view, this work provides managers and institutional entities with answers on the potential of a cooperative mention and helps them choose arguments that will lead to effective marketing communications

Full textThe purpose of this research is to show how industry organizes the transactions so the innovation can emerge and generate value in markets, the methodology that has been used, allows to examine the behaviours of different actors in the study, and the study tries to identify the mechanisms involved in innovation governance management in Colombian motorcycle market. We have done a qualitative study, using an interpretative approach through the hermeneutics method, including twelve interviews with a group of companies of the motorcycle market. We have explored three central aspects ; firstly, the conceptualization of the concept of governance and the study of different theories relating to corporate governance and the identification of corporate governance mechanisms ; second, the market conceptualization and the characterization of its different cycles of life, and the concept of innovation with its facilitators and its barriers to business and markets; and third, to analyze innovation governance mechanisms and their implications for creating market value

Full textThe involvement of rural people in forest management is determinant in sustainable management of forests. These people are relying on forest products, especially Non timber forest products they have been collecting for centuries. A good understanding of the valuing conditions of these products is essential in the Congo Basin. The implication of the private sector in adding value to NTFP is another challenge that will be analyzed in my thesis. By giving more attention to NTFP we create the conditions of equity in forest management. Overall the work attached to this thesis is important for sustainable forest management in Cameroon. Many articles, books and book chapters were published on the issue and number of presentations has been given during international conferences related to forests

Full textAbstract: Agrofood systems are confronted with numerous socio-economic challenges. In this context, public policies support a transition to more sustainable systems. These public policies stimulate an increase in the volume of local products in public catering. This demand of institutional catering and other professional clients faces several obstacles (e.g. volumes, diversity, and consistency of quality) that cannot be overcome by individual farmers. Recent initiatives such as collective platforms aim to coordinate local food supply chains. To investigate their governance therefore becomes central to support a transition to more sustainable supply chains. The goal of this thesis is to explore the modes of governance of collective platforms through the analysis of 6 case studies in the former Midi-Pyrénées region. Building on the theoretical proposals of transaction costs economics and on the analysis of organizations strategic positioning, the thesis proposes a new appreciation of organizational performance. Beyond explaining the organizational diversity of the platforms, the analysis shows that an alignment of governance structure and strategic positioning generates an organizational performance of collective platforms. Furthermore, the analysis shows that the collective platforms offer weak economic incentives to farmers which are members. In this context, the second part of the thesis looks at the determinants of their involvement and shows that these determinants are mainly socio-economic and subjective. Finally, this study offers recommendations for improving the organizational performance of collective platforms and provides food for thought for public policies that subsidize collective platforms

Full textThe European Union law involvement is increasing in all branches of law, including insurance law. Regarding to insurance distribution, the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), which entered into force in 2018, shows a growing interference of European rules. This thesis examines how Union law, and in particular IDD, is changing the French contours of insurance distribution. This influence takes place in different ways. First, the scope of the rules framing the activity is broadened, thus posing various terminological questions. Then, the content of these constraints is revisited according to two aspects. The first aspect is the most innovative and largely derived from the IDD. European law now incorporates customer protection, taken in a global way, before the act of distribution. In this regard, it establishes an arsenal to avoid conflicts of interest, as well as constraints on the product governance and oversight. These new rules should allow the policyholder to benefit from a more favourable context when he enters into or joins an insurance contract. The novelty of these texts raises questions about the terms used and their integration into French law.The second aspect concerns the policyholder's protection as known in France, at the individual level. It is then up to the European law to add obligations to the burden of professionals in the field of information and advice. While these requirements, intended to clarify the policyholder's consent, already exist in French law, they are amplified by Union law, including the IDD

Full textThis study observes corporate biodiversity management, the implementation of traceability systems and green supply chain management. In specific, this research attempts to develop a model for measuring the performance of corporate biodiversity management with linguistic variables under fuzzy logic theory (O1), to investigate the relationships between biodiversity management, GSCM and the implementation of traceability systems (O2), and to determine changes in the transaction attributes and costs of firms under the transaction cost economics framework (O3). For these purposes, this study takes empirical examinations in the Vietnamese seafood supply chain using primary data from questionnaire surveys and field trips. From the specialist survey, a set of five key performance indicators (KPIs) has been validated for measuring the performance of corporate biodiversity management. The empirical results show that the Vietnamese seafood companies perform better on the key indicators Biodiversity Stewardship Practice, Biodiversity Business Assessment, but lower scores on Biodiversity Conservation Commitment, Biodiversity Management Policy and Biodiversity Performance Reporting. Considering this fact, the green supply chain management practices are proposed to have positive effects on the performance of biodiversity management and traceability. As a result, the implementation of traceability systems leads to an increase in asset specificity (71%), a decrease in transaction uncertainty (60%) and low variation (7%) in the frequency of transactions

Full textMedical sector is a dynamic domain that requires continuous improvement of its business processes and assistance to the actors involved. This research focuses on the medical treatment process requiring prosthesis implantation. The specificity of such a process is that it makes in connection two lifecyclesbelonging to medical and engineering domains respectively. This implies several collaborative actions between stake holders from heterogeneous disciplines. However, several problems of communication and knowledge sharing may occur because of the variety of semantic used and the specific business practices in each domain. In this context, this PhD work is interested in the potential of knowledge engineering and product lifecycle management approaches to cope with the above problems. To do so, a conceptual framework is proposed for the analysis of links between the disease (medicaldomain) and the prosthesis (engineering domain) lifecycles. Based on this analysis, a semantic ontology model for medical domain is defined as part of a global knowledge-based PLM approach proposition. The application of the proposition is demonstrated through an implementation of useful function in the AUDROS PLM software
