Abstract:
Eighteenth-century children's authors implicitly exploited the fantastic and the improbable aspects of fairy tales to complement the persuasiveness of their moralistic teachings. Whereas the coexistence of chapbook residue with middle-class pedagogy in eighteenth-century children's books has already been underlined in scholarly studies, little critical attention has been paid to the rhetorical effects exercised by the incorporation of the fantastic and the improbable in eighteenth-century children's stories. Through appealing to the audience's collective imagination, eighteenth-century children's authors both derived from and built upon a set of common aspirations shared by a middle-class audience, thus cultivating a sense of what Kenneth Burke termed consubstantiality among the readers. Focussing on John Newbery's A Little Pretty Pocket-Book (1744), The History of Goody Two-Shoes (1765), and Maria Edgeworth's ‘The Orphans’ (1796), this study explores the modus operandi through which late-eighteenth-century children's authors sought to communicate serious messages by employing improbable plotlines.

People are in the intellectual age. The use of technologies such as smart search engines, machine translation, fingerprint analysis, facial scanning, and self-driving makes people’s social and work lives happier. The intersection of artificial intelligence and other projects has also become the focus of research in the new era. This article uses comparative experimental methods and sampling methods, puts forward the evaluation method of association rules in the recommendation of sports goods, and compares the selection of sensors used by the five types of sports companies in the sports experiments. In the experiment part, according to the minimum confidence level, the two rules are met. Minimum confidence is a threshold defined by users or experts to measure confidence, which represents the lowest reliability of association rules. The conclusion is that 30% of users have bought running shoes and hiking shoes at the same time and 66.6% of users have also purchased sports suits; there are also sports suits purchased at the same time. All mountain bike users have bought sports gloves. The weight of Freescale is 0.2530, the weight of Bosch is 0.4457, the weight of ST is 0.0946, the weight of VTI is 0.0953, and the weight of Konix is 0.1114. The experimental results show that the selection result of the three-axis acceleration sensor is the SMB380 model of Bosch.

Abstract:
Introduction: Wearing high-heeled shoes (HH) is a wide-spread practice among Western women, maintaining popularity despite its harmful potential. We examined the main motivation behind wearing HH in female students, as well as the possible change to wearing HH among the research participants. Methods: Thirty university students (N=30 females, age 21.8±2.09 years; weight: 55.7±4.05 kg, height: 1.66±0.03 m, BMI: 20.34±1.41 kg.m-2, shoe size: EU 36–38), who rarely wore HH. The participants wore HH for no longer than 6 hours per month during the period two past years. The SonoSens Monitor Analyzer system (Gefremed, Chemnitz, Germany) was used to observe participants’ posture when walking and movements in individual sections of their spines. In a comparative experiment, the correlation between variables recorded when walking in two types of shoes was identified. The first pair of shoes (HH) had 7 cm heels whereas the second were flat sport shoes (FS). Results: The evaluation of participants’ spines and posture when walking in HH and FS revealed significant differences (p < 0.05). The evaluation of the initial and follow-up surveys indicates that the main motivation for wearing HH among the test group was to increase their attractiveness and respond to social expectations. After participating in the research and becoming aware of its outcomes and issues, the test group’s attitude to wearing HH has changed. Conclusions: In regards to good posture and spinal health, this study has raised some awareness amongst its participants, and has therefore proved to be a significant positive influence.

Abstract:
This chapter examines the relationship between orphans and liminality in children’s literature. Focusing on girls’ fiction and female protagonists who are on the cusp of growing up, I argue that female orphans are socially, spatially, and spiritually liminal in the latter part of the long nineteenth-century. While the orphan figure has been a standard in children’s literature since its modern inception with texts like Newbery’s Little Goody Two-Shoes (1765), the orphan girl comes to new prominence in children’s books in the late nineteenth century. I demonstrate that this new prominence coincides with the rise of new concepts of ‘girlhood’, and in particular, with the identification of girlhood as a liminal phase of life. Building on Beth Rogers’s work on 19th century girlhood, I argue that female orphans in popular children’s literature of this period are presented – and indeed celebrated – as liminal figures. Using the work of five popular female writers: Johanna Spyri; Frances Hodgson Burnett; L.M. Montgomery; Eleanor Porter and Charlotte Brontë, whose works focus on female experience, I consider the orphan girl as a socially, spatially, and spiritually liminal figure.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper presents two recent cases studies for high-speed rotating shoes in the East Java Sea of Indonesia where extended reach wells have been successfully drilled and completed. Rotating shoes have been used to successfully deploy 5½ inch lower completion strings in Well A, Well B, and Well C, in 2020, 2022, and 2023 respectively. Well A had the 9⅝ inch casing shoe at 15,492 feet MD with the final depth of 16,480 feet MD. Well B is currently the longest 8½ inch production lateral drilled (6,207 feet) in Indonesia at the time of this paper with a final well depth of 15,685 feet MD. The 9⅝ inch production casing shoe was set at 9,478 feet MD. Well C was eventually completed at a final depth of 14,305 feet MD with 9⅝ inch casing shoe at 10,662 feet MD. All laterals were drilled as 8½ holes and completed as 5½ inch oil producers. In Well A, a rotating shoe was used as a contingency due to its high ERD ratio in comparison to previous wells drilled in the field up until that time. In Well B string rotation was not a feasible option due to well profile and the 5½ inch completions string configuration, hence the need for rotating shoes. In Well C well bore stability issues across zones prone to loss circulation resulted in multiple sidetracks from the primary borehole, one of which was carried in the production section, thus predicating the use of a rotating reamer shoe for the 5½ lower completion. Well C was eventually completed with the third sidetrack, at a final depth of 14,305 feet MD with the 9⅝ inch production casing shoe set at 10,662 feet MD. The liner hanger was successfully set with an estimated savings over $700K for successfully deploying the lower completions Well C as estimated cost of an additional clean-out run. One reason running lower completions in these wells are successful is the use of high-speed rotating shoes. When required the rotating shoe was able to ream through obstructions while guiding the completion string into and through the drilled hole to TD. Rotating shoes are still very new to the industry and adoption is slow. However, from our experience it is evident that deployment requires appreciation of the technology and the underlying principles that make it effective, thus creating an enabling environment for proper application is paramount. This requires collaboration between end-user and supplier with good understanding of well engineering principles because the service provider will be key to a successful operation. This paper focuses on the completion operations leading to the successful deployment of the 5½ inch lower completion strings in both Wells B and C.

Abstract:
Leather has a natural beauty that, unlike many materials, improves with age, and has long been a component of luxury goods such as footwear, leather goods and clothing. It is a natural and durable material, unmatched by any synthetic product, in terms of hygienic and protective properties. Thanks to the skills of leather producers, who take the same basic raw material, natural leathers are processed through different technological processes and transformed into finished leathers for various clothing items with high-performance properties. Finishing is achieved through a series of technologies, using materials that provide the finished leather with the desired aesthetic characteristics related to fashion, colors and special effects (pearl, two-tone, antique, printed, glossy, matte, waxed, etc.). Hand-painted natural leather shoes are also in fashion, to give a personal touch to a luxury item. The work presents surface finishing technologies of ecological natural leathers (tanned without metals), using pigment pastes with a metallic effect, in combination with acrylic and polyurethane polymers, with resistance to light and aging. White and pastel finished leathers with silver and gold effect can be used in creative industries for artistic and luxury footwear (especially for women).

Abstract:
Abstract With the assumptions that the interface between the brake drum and the lining plates is perfect contact, that the friction coefficient is constant, that the thermal effect is neglected, that the brake drum and metal shoes are rigid, the pressure distributions of drum brakes are studied by using the boundary element method. The constant element is used in the two dimensional model of the drum brake for simplicity and economy. The pressure distributions on the metal shoe and the lining plate and the friction force versus the effective cam lift are compared and show good agreement with the available data. The effects of the Young’s modulus of elasticity, the angle of the arc length, the friction coefficient, the location and the thickness of the lining plate, the Young’s modulus of elasticity and the angle of the arc length of the metal shoe, and the angle of the actuating force on the pressure distributions of the drum brakes are then studied.

Abstract:
Abstract In the field of forging machinery and construction machinery, the hydraulic transmission has become the preferred transmission mode for its high efficiency. The hydraulic pump is the core component of the transmission system as the power component. It is also the main research focus in the field of hydraulic transmission in recent years. According to the axis direction of the piston and the drive shaft, the piston pump can be grouped into radial piston pump and axial piston pump. There are two shafts in the conventional radial piston pumps, which are distribution shaft and drive shaft to complete distribution the pump and transmission work, and the friction between the shoes and the stator is high for its high load and relative sliding speed. In order to reduce the impact of these drawbacks on pump performance, a valve plate is designed to distribute the oil to avoid the stress of the conventional distribution shaft in this paper. The working principle of the radial piston pump is discussed. An electro-hydraulic proportional servo control system was adopted to control the displacement of the pump. The design and manufacturing of the radial piston pump were completed. A test platform is carried out to test the performance and the variable displacement control system of the radial piston pump with a good test result. The radial piston pump has a certain novelty in structure and has practical value.

Abstract:
With the popularity of online shopping, online e-commerce is paying more attention to the impact of sensory marketing on consumer behavior. Previous studies suggest that music plays a significant role in enhancing the online shopping experience for consumers. However, the specific patterns of consumer impulse that music induces are yet to be fully discovered. Therefore, the study aims to explore the influence of music popularity on online shopping behavior in reference to the familiarity on emotion regulation. The results can create a better auditory environment for users' shopping experience and give a guidance for merchants to choose music that fits their brand positioning.MethodThirty participants (15 females) between the ages of 19 and 33 (M = 23.8, SD = 3.2) were recruited and all had years of online shopping experience. Participants were evenly assigned to three groups(no-music group, non-pop music group, and pop music group). The task scenario of participants is to buy a pair of sports shoes, so we simulated the current mainstream e-commerce shopping website to make online shopping pages of sports shoes. We first got 50 popular and 50 non-popular songs based on popularity on the charts of various music platforms. Then 10 of each the most popular and the least popular songs were selected from each of the two groups based on user feedback. Participants were asked to browse eight goods while listening to music in a quiet indoor environment. In terms of objective data collection, eye tracker was used to record participants' browsing time, browsing track and focusing position. After that, we used a questionnaire to collect the subjective evaluation. The questionnaire mainly includes three parts: recording emotions before shopping, recording behaviors during shopping (direct purchase, add shopping cart, share and collection), and recording experiences after shopping (ranking of purchase intention, emotions and music feelings). Finally, we conducted a qualitative analysis of semi-structured interviews to improve the experimental design.ResultsA t-test of the experimental data revealed that the duration of participant browsing markedly increased when shopping with music, in comparison to shopping without music (p<0.05). Compared with non-pop music, the subjects were more familiar with pop music and listened to it for a longer time. During the experience with popular music, the emotional arousal of the participants significantly increased in the shopping context (p<0.05). More precisely, the heightened shopping excitement contributed to an elevated rate of adding items to the cart and sharing these selections.ConclusionOur research shows that music popularity significantly influences online consumer behavior. Specifically, in terms of the connection between music types and shopping experience, pop music first increases users' attention to goods. In addition, familiar music enhanced the arousal dimension of mood, thus promoting the arousal of desire to buy. These insights enhance our comprehension of the strategic use of background music in e-commerce shopping contexts. Based on the conclusions of the research, a better auditory experience can be created for users in the shopping scene in the future. In terms of business application and marketing strategy, it can also guide merchants to strategically use music to influence mood changes and promote product consumption.
