Abstract:
The topic of this master thesis is an analysis of the multimedia project GOLEM, which has carried out two following results: theatrical one (GOLEM Štvanice) and audio-visual one (GOLEM Cube). The first part is focused on the specifics of the immersive theatre phenomenon, which was introduced in the Czech theatrical milieu for the very first time, and on the production procedure within the confines of the Prague theatre stage. The second part deals with audio-visual recording of a theatre peace, which takes place in an unconventional space, and then focuses on a technical method development for all movie-making fields with great emphasis on keeping the theatrical authenticity. It also deals with the specific system of installation within the particular space. Based on this case study of an immersive theatre performance and methodical approach to its audio-visual preservation this work develops some basic requirements that should lead to the successful results of similar future projects pointing out some possible application in other fields of practice.

Abstract:
Le mot golem, un hapax biblique traduit de l’hébreu golmi, présent dans le Psaume CXXXIX,16, désigne la forme du premier homme avant son animation par le souffle divin. Le plus souvent traduit par « embryon » ou « masse informe », son sens a généré une exégèse considérable.De la tradition juive, le mot en arrivera à désigner un homme artificiel, et sa création sera attribuée à de pieux rabbins dans une perspective d’imitation Dei, selon une interprétation magique du Sefer Yetsirah ou « Livre de la Création » qui en contiendrait la clé. L’expérience doit prouver la puissance créatrice des lettres de l’alphabet hébraïque ou des lettres du Nom de Dieu, selon les maîtres de la Cabbale achkénase et européenne du Nord. Ils ont consigné les techniques de création : c’est un rituel en deux temps, façonnement de la forme humaine à partir des éléments puis animation de celle-ci grâce aux récitations de combinatoires de lettres. La réussite de l’expérience est considérée comme la pierre de touche de la perfection religieuse du créateur comme de sa puissance créatrice, à l’instar de celle des lettres de l’alphabet hébraïque.Le golem entre dans le domaine légendaire vers la fin du XVIIIe siècle et les débuts du XIXe siècle, pour prêter à de saints rabbins des pouvoirs démiurgiques. A une première légende d’origine polonaise centrée sur le Rabbin Elias Baalschem de Chelm, succède la légende pragoise un peu plus tardive qui prend le pas sur la première et attribue au Rabbin Judah Löw ben Bezalel, outre des pouvoirs surnaturels, la création d’un golem censé protéger la ville juive des accusations de crimes riruels historiques. Si c’est au créateur que nous avons choisi de nous intéresser plus particulièrement, nous n’avons manqué d’évoquer le mot « golem » lui-même, son origine ainsi que celle de la légende et en regard de parallèles anciens. Nous nous sommes appuyée sur les thèmes mis en avant itérativement par les auteurs et dans lesquels s’inscrit le thème : Cabbale juive et mystique des lettres et du Nom de Dieu ou Schem. Magie, alchimie nous ont amenée à évoquer avec les auteurs le thème de Faust puis de Frankenstein explicites dans les textes, pour souligner la création dans la création. Nous nous sommes servie du thème du Graal pour mettre l’accent, avec une interrogation sur le parallèle icône et idole, sur la littéralité du thème de la création, avant d’en arriver à mettre l’accent sur une poétique des commencements, création de l’homme artificiel et création littéraire en miroir
The word golem, a biblical hapax which was translated from the Hebrew term “golim”, is to be found in Psalm CXXXIX,16. It refers to the shape of the first man before his being given life by the breath of God.Most of the time, translated by the word “embryo” or “shapeless mass”, its very meaning has given rise to considerable exegis.From the Jewish tradition, the word will consequently happen to describe an artificial man whose creation will be ascribed to devout rabbis who had in prospect an Imitatio Dei, according to the magic interpretation of the Sefer Yetsirah or “Book of Creation” which is supposed to hold the key of it. The experiment must prove the creative power of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet or the letters attributed to the Name of God, according to the Ashkenazi and Northern European masters of the Cabbala. They have consigned their techniques of creation; the ritual takes place in two stages: first of all, there is the building of the human shape from the elements, then its animation happens owing to the reciting and combined arrangement of letters. The success of the experiment is considered as the touchstone of the religious perfection of the maker as well as his creative power, just like that of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet.The golem became part of the legendary field between the end of the XVIIIth century and the beginning of the XIXth century, giving holy rabbis such powers as demiurges.The first legend brought to light has Polish origins and is centered on Reb Elias Baalschem of Chelm. Not long after it will give precedence to the legend born in Prague which tells the story of Rabbi Löw who, besides his supernatural powers, made a golem to protect the Jewish town accused of committing ritual historical crimes.Trought I decided to take a special interest in the maker’s function, actually I did mention the word golem, its origin as well as its legends, in connection with ancient parallels. I based my study on the iterated themes regularly brought to light by authors in whose works I might find the following themes: Jewish Cabbala, the mystic of the letters and the Name of God or Schem.Magic, alchemy would lead me to evoke the themes of Faust and Frankenstein and to underluie with their authors the theme of creation within creation.I called to mind the myth of the Holy Grail too, to wonder about the paralell between icon and idol, as well as about the literality of the poetic of all beginnings with the making of the artificial man and any literay creation, acting like a mirror writing

Após as disputas pela hegemonia econômica durante o século XIX, o continente europeu foi palco da Primeira Guerra Mundial e a Alemanha viu-se inserida em um contexto caótico. A derrota alemã na guerra agravou os problemas políticos e econômicos que o país enfrentava e a imposição do Tratado de Versalhes juntamente com a implantação da República de Weimar contribuiram para o aumento do ressentimento alemão. Esse contexto foi terreno fértil para o cinema expressionista que havia acabado de surgir e toda a tensão presente no cotidiano ofereceu contribuição para um refinamento do gênero. Ao estabeler um diálogo entre obra de arte e contexto, o historiador pode resgatar vestígios utilizando-os enquanto fonte para construção do conhecimento histórico. O expressionismo alemão auxiliou na criação de uma nova imagem de mundo ao passo que também representou com maestria a tensão que todos estavam vivendo no pós-Primeira Guerra na Alemanha. A fonte documental é o filme alemão The Golem: how he came into the world produzido no ano de 1920 pelo diretor Paul Wegener que está inserido entre os filmes do período. A presente pesquisa tem o objetivo de identificar a potência criativa no processo de produção expressionista, bem como o diálogo e influência do contexto no qual foram produzidos utilizando a obra The Golem (1920) como ponto de partida.
After disputes over economic hegemony during the 19th century, the continent hosted the First World War and Germany found itself inserted in a chaotic context. The German defeat in the war aggravated the political and economic problems facing the country, and the imposition of the Versailles Treaty, with the establishment of the Weimar Republic, contributed to the increase in German resentment. This context is fertile ground for the expressionist cinema that had just come up; all the present tension in daily life offered contribution to a refinement of the genre. By establishing a dialogue between the work of art and context the historian can rescue traces, using them as a source for construction of historical knowledge. The German expressionism helped in creating a new image of the world while also represented a masterly tension that everyone was living in post-War Germany. The source document is the German film The Golem: how he come into the world, produced in 1920 by the director Paul Wegener, that is inserted among the films of the period. This research aims to identify the creative power in the expressionist production process, and the dialogue and influence of the context in which they were produced, using the work The Golem (1920) as a starting point.

Abstract:
The Golem is a creature formed by a rabbi out of mud or clay (although it can be made of wood). It is an enduring and favourite subject in Jewish folklore, and it has proved invaluable in its power to reflect the vicissitudes of history. The Golem can take many forms, but is always powered by a magic or holy word. The tale usually ends with the destruction of the creature, but hints of its probable return usually haunt and disrupt any sense of finality. The most famous and enduring version of the story was set in the Prague Ghetto, and was a favourite subject for German Expressionist artists. This is because it reflected a time when the old and the new combined in uncanny and disturbing ways. The Golem story was popular with Romantic writers like E.T.A. Hoffmann, who were similarly reacting to a world that was changing under the influence of Enlightenment thinking and war. Sigmund Freud’s famous essay, ‘The Uncanny’, (‘Das Unheimliche’) of 1919, used Hoffmann’s classic Golem tale, The Sandman, as its central focus, though Freud was never to acknowledge its Jewish origins.

O golem é um ser mítico ligado ao misticismo judaico. O relato mais significativo envolve Judah Loew, rabino de Praga na república Checa no século XVI. O rabino Loew modelou o seu golem com o barro do rio Vltava e lhe deu vida através de um processo mágico. O Golem foi criado para proteger o povo judeu dos crescentes ataques anti-semitas. Nesta animação, feita com a técnica de stop-motion utilizando a argila como meio de expressão, a lenda do golem assume uma abordagem contemporânea. O Golem tem de proteger não só o povo judeu, mas toda a humanidade contra sua maior ameaça. Buscando entender sua tarefa, ele se depara com a contradição que ela representa. Neste filme de animação a argila sublima sua materialidade e liberta-se de seu peso para tornar-se um meio líquido e etéreo. Por este motivo ela foi escolhida como meio de expressão para este projeto.
The golem is a being connected to Jewish mysticism. The most significant narrative involves Judah Loew, the late 16th-century rabbi of Prague, in the Czech Republic. The rabbi modelled the Golem out of clay from the banks of the Vltava river, and brought it to life through a magic process. The Golem was created to defend the Jews from antisemitic attacks. In this short stop-motion animation made with clay, the story of the Golem takes a contemporary approach. The Golem has to defend not the Jews only, but the whole human kind from its greatest threat. Searching for the meaning of its task, the Golem faces the contradiction it represents. In this animation, clay frees itself from its materiality leaving behind its weight to become fluid and ethereal. That is the reason why it was chosen to be used as the means of expression in this project.

This thesis explores the critical question of the ethics of creation as it emerges to the forefront of contemporary thought in the late twentieth century. The question is examined through three independent yet interrelated motifs: the legend of the Golem, the symbol of the Western Wall in Jerusalem, and the literature of Franz Kafka. An understanding of these three motifs, in all their implications, can provide valuable commentary and insightful reflections so that a discourse on a possible moral and ethical ground for affirmative creation can be engaged. It is imperative, in light of the destructive potentiality of our creative making, to address this discourse if architecture is to regain cultural relevance.

Abstract:
Natrix tessellata predstavlja vrstu neotrovne zmije koja ima široko rasprostranjenje.Posebno interesantnu populaciju ribarica čine zmije koje naseljavaju izolovana ostrva kao što je to slučaj na ostrvu Golem grad koje se nalazi na Prespankom jezeru u Makedoniji.    Imajući u  vidu da je ova populacija na ovom lokalitetu izuzetno brojna i slabo istražena, cilj studije je bio da se ispita životna istorija date vrste zmija, njene osnovne morfološke karakteristike, seksualni polimorfizam, zastupljenost različitih kolor morfi, dnevnu i sezonsku aktivnost, predaciju kao i njihove reproduktivne karakteristike.   Studija je sprovedena na ukupno 3850 jedinki ribarica na ostrvu Golem grad tokom prolećne i letnje sezone u periodu od 2008. do 2012. godine, a uključila je i određivanje kondicionog indeksa i njegovu vezu sa kolor morfama, polom i uzrasnim kategorijama.      Rezultati ove studije su pokazali da je populacija ribarica koja naseljava ostrvo Golem grad, specifična iz nekoliko razloga. Najpre, na relativno malom prostoru stalno je naseljen veliki broj jedinki, sa podjednakom zastupljenošću sve tri kolor morfe (tačkasta, siva i melanična kolor morfa) što predstavlja specifičnost i različitost u odnosu na sve ostale lokalitete koje naseljava ova vrsta zmije. Takođe, prosečne vrednosti ispitivanih morfoloških karakteristika ženki su značajno veće u odnosu na mužjake u sve tri uzrasne kategorije (juvenilni, subadulti i adulti). Fertilitet i fekunditet, kao i kondicioni indeks je pokazao specifičnost u odnosu na ispitivane zone ostrva.   Sumiranjem i analizom svih iznesenih rezultata može se zaključiti da je populacijaribarica Natrix tessellata na ostrvu Golem grad jako specifična zbog ujednačenog prisustva sve tri kolor morfe koje pokazuju svoju ekološku, reproduktivnu i morfološku specifičnost u odnosu na populacije ribarica koje su ispitivane na drugim lokalitetima njihovog rasprostranjenja. Kako bi se posebnost ove populacije u potpunosti  objasnila sa različitih evolutivnih i ekoloških aspekata, neophodno je izvršiti dalja ispitivanja tokom sledećih aktivnih sezona.
Natrix tessellata represents one specific type of non-toxic snake that have a wide distribution. Particularly this population of dice snake is interesting because it is consists of snakes that inhabit the isolated island Golem grad in Prespa lake in FYR Macedonia.Bearing in mind that this population at this particular site is extremely dense and poorly investigated, the goal of this study was to examine the life history of these species, its morphological characteristics, sexual polymorphism, presence of the  different color morphs, duirnal and seasonal activity, predation and their  reproductive   characteristics. The study was conducted on a total of 3850 individuals of dice snake on the island Golem grad during the spring and summer season in the period from 2008. to 2012., and included the determination of the fitness index and its relationship with a color morph, sex and age categories. Results of this study showed that the population of dice snakes that inhabits the island Golem grad, are specific for several reasons. First, the relatively small area has been inhabited by large number of individuals, with equal representation of all three color morphs  (dotted, gray and melanic morph) which represents the specificity  and diversity in relation to all other localities inhabited by this species of snake. Also, the average value of measured morphological characteristics in females  were significantly higher than in males in all three age categories (juvenile, subadult and adult). Fertility and fecundity, and fitness index have showed the specificity acording to specific zone of the island.    By summarizing and analyzing of results it can be conclude that the population of Natrix tessellata which inhabits island Golem grad are very specific due to the uniform presence of all three color morphs that demonstrate their  environmental, reproductive and morphological specificity in comparison of dice snakes populations that have been studied in other localities of their distribution range. In order to be fully explained unicity of this population from different  evolutionary and ecological aspects, it is necessary to do further research during the next active seasons.

Esta pesquisa ? o resultado de uma reflex?o te?rico-anal?tica sobre a obra dramat?rgica da escritora inglesa Sarah Kane. Na maneira como ela estrutura e articula um incessante di?logo, em sua escritura, com os mortos (a tradi??o dramat?rgica), sobre os mortos (as diferentes ideias e no??es de morte na vida urbana) e para os que v?o morrer, nesse caso, a sua pr?pria pessoa em forma de registro autobiogr?fico. O trabalho se det?m, especificamente, na an?lise dos seus tr?s ?ltimos trabalhos: Cleansed (Purificados, 1998), Crave (?nsia, 1998) e 4.48 Psychosis (Psicose 4:48, 2000). Levando em considera??o o desenvolvimento dos elementos e no??es que constroem o conceito de Tanatopo?tica. Dessa maneira, s?o de interesse particular para esse trabalho as no??es de escritura e escrita perform?tica para an?lise e contextualiza??o da obra da dramaturga na hist?ria teatral, uma vez que essas no??es permitem compreender e abordar a obra a partir do vi?s performativo. Este trabalho identifica, constr?i e investe ainda, na no??o de personagem golem como um dispositivo de duplo ou sombra para discutir e inscrever quest?es do universo ?ntimo de sua autora. Para a discuss?o dessas no??es foram fundamentais as ideias de Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Derrida, Roland Barthes, Alex Beigui, Diana Klinger e Gershom Scholem. O estudo sobre a morte e a fenomenologia tanatol?gica foi conduzido a partir da an?lise das escrituras, na sua abordagem direta ao tema, ou por meio das refer?ncias, cita??es e met?foras utilizadas pela autora para elaborar a sua po?tica da morte, ou tanatopo?tica. Para isso levaram-se em considera??o as ideias de Edgar Morin, Emmanuel Levinas, Martin Heidegger, Arthur Schopenhauer, Heiner M?ller, Vladimir Safatle, entre outros. Kane aparece neste trabalho como autora que se mostra tribut?ria ? linhagem hist?rica do Teatro do Absurdo, sem reconhecer ou assumir oficialmente sua filia??o, mas transcendendo a ela na supera??o daquele que foi o seu maior intento; a recusa ao nome, a aniquila??o e a fuga da linguagem teatral.
This research is the outcome of a theoretical-analytical consideration about the dramaturgical works of the british playwright Sarah Kane. About the way she structures and articulate an unceasing dialogue in her writings with the dead (the dramaturgical tradition); about the dead (the different ideas and notions about death in the urban life); and with the ones that are going to die, i.e. herself in autobiographical registers. The work focuses, specifically, at the analysis of her three last plays: Cleansed (1998), Crave (1998), and 4.48 Psychosis (2000), taking into consideration the development of the notions and elements that build the Thanatopoetic concept. The particular interests of this work are the notions of writing and performative writing applied to the analysis and contextualization of Kane?s work at the theatre history, since those notions allow the comprehension and approach of the plays through a performative bias. This work also identifies, develops and invests the notion of the ?Golem? character as a dual or shadow device, to discuss and enroll matters from the playwright?s intimate universe. For the discussion of these notions, the author uses ideas from Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Derrida, Roland Barthes, Alex Beigui, Diana Klinger and Gershom Scholem. The study about death and the thanatological phenomenology will be conducted with the analysis of the writings, in its direct theme approach, or through references, quotations and metaphors used by the playwright to elaborate her ?Death poetic?, or Thanatopoetic. For that, the author takes into consideration the works of Edgar Morin, Emmanuel Levinas, Martin Heidegger, Arthur Schopenhauer, Heiner M?ller, Vladimir Safatle, among others. This work also identifies in Kane an author that pays tribute to the historical lineage of the Absurd theatre, without officially recognizing or assuming such affiliation, but instead transcending it with the overcoming of what was her biggest intent; the annihilation of and escape from the theatrical language.

Abstract:
Les reliefs résultent d'une interaction entre de nombreux processus qui mettent en jeu des couplages complexes : climat, tectonique, érosion, impact anthropique, etc. Dans les paysages dominés par l'érosion fluviatile, la morphologie du relief est étroitement liée à la structure du réseau hydrographique. Ce dernier joue un rôle important dans les couplages entre les processus de surface (processus fluviaux et processus de versants). De nombreuses évidences de captures entre rivières provoquant des réorganisations du réseau hydrographique suggèrent que le réseau de drainage évolue, et il est loin d'être fixe comme le suggèrent certains modèles numériques d'évolution du paysage. Néanmoins, les travaux s'intéressant aux causes et aux mécanismes de ces réorganisations sont peu nombreux, et essentiellement qualitatifs. L'objectif de cette thèse a été de quantifier et de modéliser la réorganisation des réseaux hydrographiques par mécanisme de capture par rivières pirates dans le cadre d'un enfoncement relatif entre deux bassins, où l'avancement (par érosion régressive) de la tête de vallée de la rivière pirate provoque le détournement d'une rivière qui coule à proximité. Le comportement des Modèles numériques d'Evolution des Paysages (MEP) et plus particulièrement l'influence des paramètres de contrôle, ont été étudiés. L'expérimentation a été réalisée avec le logiciel GOLEM qui a été adapté aux besoins. L'étude s'est principalement portée sur le cas de l'évolution du réseau hydrographique de la partie française de la Meuse, qui a connue de nombreuses captures par le passé (capture de la Haute-Moselle par la Meurthe, capture de l'Aire par l'Aisne) et dont les caractéristiques actuelles sont favorables à de nouvelles captures (le lit de la Meuse se trouve perché à plus de 50m au dessus des vallées qui l'entourent (le lit de la Meuse se trouve perché à plus de 50m au dessus des vallées qui l'entourent : la Marne à l'ouest et la Moselle à l'est).

Abstract:
My diploma thesis deals with socialist realism. I have demonstrated that the content of this term has been changing regarding the political situation and it was loosely replacing the term folk art in historical texts. I have proved that the opinions of experts on socialist realism differ and a clear definition of the term socialist realism does not probably exist. The lack of definition of socialist realism was used to manipulate the artistic community. The thesis helped me to defend the proposition that the Communist Party has supervised and influenced the operation of the film industry even before the February coup in 1948 by the Ministry of Information, where a communist Václav Kopecký was in the lead. Interventions into films and purges of film workers were made already in the immediate postwar period. The main cultural-political directive on cinematography from April 1950, which should have provided a faster enforcement and obligatory effect of socialist realism, aimed to increase the film production. My thesis has shown that this directive, together with the bureaucratic way of approving films, disputes within the Communist Party, changes in film authorities and slow work of creative teams, contributed to an unprecedented crisis in the film production and to a fatal failure to meet the plan in the following year. In my thesis, I have proved that the film The Emperor and the Golem fully complies with two out of three principles of socialist realism. I have labeled the principle that requires truthfulness and historical concreteness as partly met. From my analysis, it can be concluded that this historical comedy has all the features that are required from the works of socialist realism.

La thèse étudie les contextes contemporains de performances du wayang golek purwa sundanais, ainsi que les processus de patrimonialisations dans lesquels il s'inscrit. Le travail, basé sur trois ans de recherche sur le terrain, montre que la pratique du wayang golek, éminemment populaire à Java Ouest aujourd'hui, est corrélative à une affirmation identitaire sundanaise. Le wayang golek est d'abord présenté comme une performance, envisagée tant dans son indivisibilité intrinsèque que dans toute sa diversité et sa complexité sociale et artistique, ainsi que dans son interaction avec les autres media et pratiques qui l'entourent et la nourrissent. De plus, cette pratique est au centre de politiques locales, nationales et internationales, notamment depuis que l'Unesco a proclamé le "wayang Indonésien" "chef-d’œuvre du patrimoine culturel oral et immatériel de l'humanité" en 2003. Ces politiques culturelles s'appuient fortement sur un paradigme de la crise et du risque. Enfin, la patrimonialisation officielle du wayang golek semble viser à sa spectacularisation et sa folklorisation, et en fait un produit à exporter, une ressource à mobiliser et à exploiter, un capital à faire fructifier dans l'intérêt notamment économique d'une région touchée de plein fouet par les crises économiques de 1997 et fin 2008, au sein d'un Etat engagé dans un processus politique complexe de démocratisation au sortir des trente ans du régime autoritaire de l'Ordre nouveau (1967-1998). Finalement, la réappropriation du wayang golek en tant que patrimoine tend à faire oublier que le wayang golek lui-même fonctionne déjà comme un métadiscours du patrimoine au sein de la société sundanaise
The dissertation is about contemporary contexts of performance of Sundanese wayang golek purwa, as wellas about heritagisation (patrimonialisation) processes that concern it. This research, based on a three years-fieldwork, shows that wayang golek practice, highly popular in West Java nowadays, is correlated to a Sundanese identity affirmation. Wayang golek is first introduced as a performance, considered as much in its intrinsic indivisibility as in its social and artistic diversity and complexity, as well as in its interaction with other media and practices which surround and nourish it. Moreover, this practice is central to local, national and international cultural policies, particularly since the Unesco proclaimed "Indonesian Wayang" as "Masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity" in 2003. These cultural policies are mainly based on the rhetoric of crisis and risk. On the end, official heritagisation (patrimonialisation) of wayang golek seems to tend to its "spectacularisation" and "folklorisation, and makes of it a product to export, a resource to exploit, a capital which benefits are understood to be at the advantage of a region which suffered from the 1997 and 2008 economical crises, while the Indonesian State is engaged in a complex political democratisation process after the thirty years of the authoritarian government of the New Order (1967-1998). Finally, the re-appropriation of wayang golek as heritage tends to hide that wayang golek in itself is already a meta-discourse on heritage inside the Sundanese society

Este texto tem por objetivo investigar as redes discursivas e não discursivas que produziram nos moradores de Campina Grande novas maneiras de ver e dizer a cidade e os seus elementos, informados por uma sensibilidade moderna, nas primeiras décadas do século XX. Investigamos, assim, os fios que enredaram e produziram diversos aspectos da cidade e da vida de seus moradores, propiciando a emergência e a hegemonia dessa nova sensibilidade. Assim, problematizamos a historiografia local quanto aos estudos sobre modernidade, tentando escapar à análise que privilegia a dimensão material do moderno e vincula-o ao conceito de modernização. Lançamos, desta maneira, uma nova possibilidade de abordagem da modernidade em Campina Grande, entendendo-a a partir das promessas simbólicas do Iluminismo, especialmente na pretensão de superação, pelo homem, de sua dependência para com os elementos naturais, movimento representado pela culturalização/cientificização da natureza. The time recurrence of earthquakes is the result of the complex feedback between the tectonic loading on a fault and the time-dependent evolution of fault strength. The chemical and physical processes active during the seismic cycle, control the short term and long term mechanical properties of the fault zone. The study of natural fault rocks is a method for recognizing the processes occurring in the seismic cycle and for finding a correspondence with rocks experimentally deformed in controlled conditions. The study of seismic fault zone rocks are attained (i) by scientific drilling in active fault zones and (ii) by the study of ancient seismic faults now exhumed in mountain ranges. Drilling is limited to the first kilometers of crust, but the features found in fault rocks can be correlated with detailed in-situ measurements of the fault activity. Exhumed fault zones allow to the study of fault rocks from a large span of depth in the crust, but little can be inferred on their activity. In this thesis, two case studies are examined: the modern seismogenic San Andreas Fault (California, USA) and the ancient seismogenic Gole Larghe Fault (Southern Alps, Italy). The fault rocks and fault zones are investigated by integrating methods from: structural geology, experimental rock deformation, microstructural analysis (optical microscopy, cathdolouminescence microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), electron back scatter diffraction (EBSD), image analysis), mineralogy (X-ray diffraction (XRD), geochemistry (X-ray fluorescence (XRF), energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) X-ray microanalysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, electron probe micro-analysis (EPMA)) and stable isotope geochemistry. The San Andreas Fault was drilled to 2.7 km depth at Parkfield (central California) within the SAFOD (San Andreas Fault Observatory at Depth) project, and samples were extracted from the depth of nucleation of repeating microearthquakes registered in that fault strand. The identification of a cyclic recurrence of pressure-solution creep, hydrofracture and pressure solution creep supports the idea that, in mature fault zones as the San Andreas Fault, isolated compartments of high fluid pressure might cause small to moderate in size earthquakes, associated to the dominant creep activity. The Gole Larghe Fault Zone is an exhumed fault which was active 30 Ma ago at 9 – 11 km depth. The occurrence of pseudotachylytes, frictional melts produced during seismic slip, witnesses the seismic behavior of the fault, and allows to investigate the processes occurring at hypocentral depths of major intracrustal earthquakes. Two topics were investigated: (i) The fabric evolution of cataclastic rocks with increasing deformation. This microstructural study aims to identify the (interseismic?) processes potentially leading to the onset of unstable slip at the early stages of fault growth. Brittle processes as fracturing and cataclasis are overprinted by pressure solution processes and alteration enhanced by rock fragmentation and fluid ingression. (ii) The origin of fluids involved in seismic faulting and frictional melting. The formation of a cataclastic fault network might allow the ingression of external hydrous fluids, probable deep in origin, although mixing with meteoric or connate fluids cannot be excluded. Isotope studies in natural pseudotachylytes were coupled with detailed mineralogical characterization, which allowed to identify a (post-deformation) late hydration of the pseudotachylytes. The similar isotopic composition of natural pseudotachylytes (re-calculated excluding the effects of late hydration) and dry experimentally-produced pseudotachylytes suggests that the main fluid source is the dehydration induced by coseismic frictional heating of OH-bearing minerals (biotite, chlorite, epidote) in the wall rocks.
I processi chimici e fisici attivi nel ciclo sismico controllano l’evoluzione delle proprietà meccaniche delle zone di faglia, sia nel breve (durante la propagazione di un terremoto) che nel lungo periodo (per esempio, il recupero delle proprietà elastiche delle rocce di faglia nel periodo intersismico). L’irregolare distribuzione dei terremoti nel tempo è infatti dovuta alla complessa interazione tra energia di deformazione elastica accumulata nell’incassante e l’evoluzione temporale delle proprietà meccaniche (coesione, attrito, ecc.) delle zone di faglia. Studiare le rocce di faglia naturali è un mezzo per riconoscere i processi attivi nelle varie fasi del ciclo sismico e per confrontarne le tessiture con rocce deformate in laboratorio in condizioni controllate. Il campionamento di rocce in faglie sismogenetiche può avvenire attraverso (i) perforazioni di faglie attive e (ii) faglie non più attive ed oggi esumate nelle catene montuose. La perforazione di faglie attive permette di correlare i processi fisici e chimici identificati nelle rocce di faglia con l’attività (sismicità o scivolamento asismico) registrata in tempo reale, ma è limitata ai primi chilometri di crosta. Le faglie esumate d’altro canto permettono di accedere a livelli crostali più profondi e compatibili con quelli di nucleazione di grandi terremoti, ma si hanno pochi vincoli sul loro stile deformativo. In questa tesi, vengono studiati campioni da due faglie sismogenetiche: la Faglia di San Andreas (California, USA), faglia sismogenetica attiva, e la Faglia delle Gole Larghe (Alpi Meridionali, Italia), faglia sismogenetica esumata. Le faglie e le rocce di faglia sono state studiate integrando diversi metodi: geologia strutturale, deformazione sperimentale di rocce, analisi microstrutturale (microscopia ottica ed in catodoluminescenza, microscopio elettronico ad emissione di campo (FESEM), diffrazione da retrodiffusione elettronica (EBSD), analisi di immagine), mineralogia (diffrazione da raggi X (XRD)), geochimica (fluorescenza da raggi X (XRF), microanalisi da spettroscopia a dispersione di energia da raggi X (EDS), spettroscopia ad infrarosso (FTIR), microsonda elettronica (EPMA) ), geochimica degli isotopi stabili. La Faglia di San Andreas è stata perforata fino ad una profondità di 2.7 km presso Parkfield (California centrale) nell’ambito del progetto SAFOD (San Andreas Fault Observatory at Depth), con il recupero di tre carote da profondità prossime agli ipocentri di terremoti di bassa intensità (M<3) registrati in questo tratto della faglia. Nei campioni studiati, abbiamo identificato una sovrapposizione ciclica di strutture legate a presso-soluzione(creep), idrofratturazione e ancora presso-soluzione. Questo potrebbe confermare il modello secondo cui, in faglie mature e ricche in materiali argillosi come la Faglia di San Andreas, si possano formare delle sacche poco permeabili isolate in cui la pressione dei fluidi può aumentare a causa della continua compattazione del materiale di faglia, fino a superare la resistenza alla rottura della roccia. La faglia delle Gole Larghe è una faglia esumata che era attiva 30 Ma fa a 9 -11 km di profondità. La presenza di pseudotachiliti, fusi di frizione prodotti durante lo scivolamento sismico, testimonia l’attività sismica passata. La Faglia delle Gole Larghe permette quindi di avere un accesso diretto ai processi che avvengono alla profondità dei maggiori terremoti nella crosta continentale. Due argomenti sono stati affrontati: (i) l’evoluzione microstrutturale delle rocce cataclastiche associate alle pseudotachiliti all’aumentare della deformazione. Lo scopo dello studio è identificare i processi (intersismici) che possono portare alla nucleazione di instabilità frizionali nelle prime fasi di crescita di una faglia. Ai processi fragili come fratturazione e cataclasi si sovrappongono processi di presso-soluzione e alterazione, favoriti dalla frammentazione della roccia e dall’ingresso di fluidi idrotermali. (ii) L’origine dei fluidi nelle faglie sismogenetiche e nel processo di fusione per attrito. Nel caso della Faglia delle Gole Larghe, la formazione di un sistema di faglie cataclastiche consente l’ingresso di un fluido acquoso, di probabile origine profonda, anche se non può essere esclusa una componente di fluidi meteorici o connati. La caratterizzazione della speciazione dell’acqua attraverso spettoscopia FTIR nelle pseudotachiliti ha permesso di identificare un’idratazione tardiva (post-deformativa) delle pseudotachiliti. La composizione isotopica delle psudotachiliti (ricalcolata escludendo l’effetto dell’idratazione) è simile a quello di pseudotachiliti artificiali prodotte in condizioni anidre. La principale fonte di fluidi nelle pseudotachiliti è quindi la deidratazione dei minerali idrati (biotite, clorite, epidoto) della roccia incassante indotta dal calore di frizione prodotto dallo scivolamento cosismico.

Il versante sinistro delle Gole di Scascoli (BO) è caratterizzato da una marcata tendenza evolutiva per crollo e ribaltamento. Negli ultimi 25 anni si sono verificati eventi parossistici con volumi di roccia coinvolti rispettivamente di 7000 m3, 20000 m3 e 35000 m3. Il sito è di grande rilevanza a causa del forte fattore di rischio rappresentato per la strada di fondovalle ad esso adiacente. Il lavoro di tesi è stato finalizzato allo studio dei fenomeni di versante di una parete rocciosa inaccessibile nota in letteratura come “ex-Mammellone 1” mediante tecniche di telerilevamento quali TLS (Terrestrial Laser Scanning) e CRP (Close Range Photogrammetry) al fine affiancare il rilievo geomeccanico soggettivo dell’area svolto nel 2003 da ENSER Srl in seguito ai fenomeni di crollo del 2002. Lo sviluppo di tecnologie e metodi innovativi per l’analisi territoriale basata sull’impiego di UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, meglio noti come Droni), associata alle tecniche di fotogrammetria digitale costituisce un elemento di notevole ausilio nelle pratiche di rilevamento in campo di sicurezza e tempi di esecuzione. Il lavoro ha previsto una prima fase di rilevamento areo-fotogrammetrico mediante strumentazione professionale e amatoriale, a cui è seguita l’elaborazione dei rispettivi modelli. I diversi output sono stati confrontati dal punto di vista geomorfologico, geometrico, geomeccanico e di modellazione numerica di caduta massi. Dal lavoro è stato possibile indagare l’evoluzione morfologica del sito in esame negli ultimi 10 anni, confrontare diversi metodi di rilevamento e analisi dati, sperimentare la robustezza e ripetibilità geometrica del metodo fotogrammetrico per il rilievo di fronti rocciosi e mettere a punto un metodo semiautomatico di individuazione e analisi delle giaciture delle discontinuità.

Abstract:
Les reliefs résultent d'une interaction entre de nombreux processus qui mettent en jeu des couplages complexes : climat, tectonique, érosion, impact anthropique, etc. Dans les paysages dominés par l'érosion fluviatile, la morphologie du relief est étroitement liée à la structure du réseau hydrographique. Ce dernier joue un rôle important dans les couplages entre les processus de surface (processus fluviaux et processus de versants). De nombreuses évidences de captures entre rivières provoquant des réorganisations du réseau hydrographique suggèrent que le réseau de drainage évolue, et il est loin d'être fixe comme le suggèrent certains modèles numériques d'évolution du paysage. Néanmoins, les travaux s'intéressant aux causes et aux mécanismes de ces réorganisations sont peu nombreux, et essentiellement qualitatifs. L'objectif de cette thèse a été de quantifier et de modéliser la réorganisation des réseaux hydrographiques par mécanisme de capture par rivières pirates dans le cadre d'un enfoncement relatif entre deux bassins, où l'avancement (par érosion régressive) de la tête de vallée de la rivière pirate provoque le détournement d'une rivière qui coule à proximité. Le comportement des Modèles numériques d'Evolution des Paysages (MEP) et plus particulièrement l'influence des paramètres de contrôle, ont été étudiés. L'expérimentation a été réalisée avec le logiciel GOLEM qui a été adapté aux besoins. L'étude s'est principalement portée sur le cas de l'évolution du réseau hydrographique de la partie française de la Meuse, qui a connue de nombreuses captures par le passé (capture de la Haute-Moselle par la Meurthe, capture de l'Aire par l'Aisne) et dont les caractéristiques actuelles sont favorables à de nouvelles captures (le lit de la Meuse se trouve perché à plus de 50m au dessus des vallées qui l'entourent (le lit de la Meuse se trouve perché à plus de 50m au dessus des vallées qui l'entourent : la Marne à l'ouest et la Moselle à l'est)
Landforms result from interaction between several processes, involving complex coupling: climate, tectonics, erosion, human impact, etc. In landscapes dominated by fluvial erosion, terrain morphology is closely related to the hydrographic network system. Because the latter plays an important role in the surface processes coupling (fluvial processes and hillslope processes). Many evidences of stream piracies causing reorganization of hydrographic network suggest that the drainage system is changing, and it is far from being fixe as propose some numerical landscape evolution models. Nevertheless, works focusing on causes and mechanisms of these reorganizations are very few and they are largely qualitative. The aim of this thesis is to quantify and describe the reorganization of hydrographic networks provoked by headward piracy mechanism in the case of relative lowering between two basins, where the riverhead progress by headward erosion causing the diversion of a river flowing nearby. The problem is tackled with a numerical modeling approach. We emphasis on the evolution of the hydrographic networks of the French part of the Meuse basin, where several piracies were recorded in the past (the piracy of the Upper-Moselle by the Meurthe and the piracy of the Aire by the Aisne), and which current characteristics are favorable to new piracies (the Meuse river bed is perched at more than 50m comparing to its surrounding valleys (the Meuse river bed is perched at more than 50m comparing to its surrounding valleys: Marne at the west and the Moselle at the east)

El siguiente trabajo tienes relación con un ámbito poco explorado por los diseñadores en Chile, tal vez por prejuicio o poco conocimiento en general. La gráfica del fútbol chileno se manifiesta en los logos de los equipos de fútbol, el diseño de sus camisetas, el merchandising, tanto el oficial como el “callejero”, todo lo que tiene relación con la expresión social, así como también las publicaciones deportivas, tanto impresas como electrónicas (web). El trabajo gráfico está presente tanto en lo que rodea al fútbol chileno como al deporte en si, creando una identidad popular y conceptos relacionados con los equipos de fútbol. En medio de la creciente globalización, es importante rescatar y valorizar que la gráfica que está presente en este deporte, ha tenido un desarrollo mucho mayor en países donde el fútbol es más que sólo un juego. A través de los años, el fútbol ha transmitido diferentes conceptos utilizando elementos pertenecientes a la gráfica tales como: logotipos, escudos, colores de las camisetas, diseño de las camisetas, los números (tipografía), personajes, etc. Es por lo anteriormente expuesto que se vuelve importante conocer lo que se ha hecho, ya que así, se generan nuevas oportunidades de crear proyectos en los que el Diseño Gráfico aporte al desarrollo de este deporte. Este Informe tiene como objetivos presentar el tema del proyecto, fundamentarlo sobre bases intelectuales, gráficas y emotivas y, además, entretener. Fotografías, ilustraciones, referentes, tipologías y procesos de producción, serán expuestos visual y descriptivamente. No es la intención de quien escribe esta memoria aburrirlos con páginas y páginas de la más pesada lectura, sino que aquellas páginas sean de un contenido y agrado visual que concentre su atención.

Analiza las crónicas En los Andes las campesinas siembran goles y Una roca del espacio cayó en el fin del mundo, del periodista peruano Marco Avilés, para determinar de qué manera el cronista construye su discurso sobre el mundo andino en ambos textos. Estas crónicas narran hechos que se desarrollan en las comunidades altoandinas de Churubamba, en Cusco, y Carancas, en Puno. La narración del cronista se basa en su recorrido por estas comunidades para conocer sobre los hechos que narra y manifestar sus puntos de vista acerca de la realidad social que observa en ambas localidades. La tesis emplea la metodología del Análisis Crítico del Discurso para establecer cuál es la relación entre los textos y el contexto social de las comunidades andinas donde se desarrollan los hechos narrados, así como los presupuestos ideológicos del autor. Asimismo, se analizan las estructuras discursivas de ambas crónicas mediante la narratología y también a través de la identificación de las principales características periodístico-literarias.

Im interested in the topic of praying machine, because I want to analyze aspects of photography and its functions. It's known, that the reality is manipulated by photography. Bud we can also say, that the relationship between reality and photography is neutral in fact, that the manipulation is made by our interpretation of photography. The change of the reality can be realized just in the dialog between photography and reality. Can it be, that the mechanization change into the will? Does it prays praying mill or the buddhistic monk, who rotates the mill? When he believes into it, is it enough? Or is it enough if believes who watch the monk with his mill? ... The computers from he place A are "praying" the prayers from the place B. With Tomáš Javůrek we collaborated with Vladimír Veselý and Radek Lát to create the Game for re-articulation our reality on the base of the revision of our faith.

O objetivo do presente trabalho é o desenvolvimento de um modelo computacional da criatividade em design que permita a geração de soluções criativas e adequadas como resposta a problemas do domínio do design de comunicação. Para tal foi desenvolvido um estudo em três frentes: 1) Desenvolvimento de um modelo genérico da criatividade, partindo do modelo dos 4-cês da criatividade de Kaufman e Beghetto, do modelo sistémico da criatividade de Csikszentmihalyi e do modelo Geneplore de Finke e colegas, e tomando ainda em consideração as teorias da cognição situada e a teoria da seleção de grupos neuronais de Edelman; 2) Análise crítica da metodologia projetual do design. 3) Desenvolvimento de um modelo da criatividade em design, partindo de uma análise bibliográfica e de um estudo empírico que começou com entrevistas semiestruturadas a 7 designers, terminando num questionário aferindo 37 variáveis junto de 509 designers em 44 países; Os resultados do estudo empírico revelam o processo criativo como sendo informal, dinâmico, iterativo, e composto por 3 passos: pesquisa, geração de ideias e avaliação. Os designers raramente usam métodos formais de geração de ideias novas, e fazem poucos esforços para desenvolver a sua criatividade. O uso de fontes de inspiração é fundamental para o processo criativo, e os designers contam com um conjunto restrito e estável de fontes. O design é um domínio auto-referencial, visto que a principal fonte de inspiração dos designers é o próprio design. O principal contributo do presente trabalho consiste numa teoria unificada do processo criativo que enforma o modelo computacional apresentado, que vai desde a escala intramental do raciocínio analógico à escala das interações socioculturais entre domínio, campo e indivíduo, e das interações transversais entre diferentes campos e domínios de atividade cultural. Para além do contributo principal, o estudo empírico constitui em si mesmo um importante e inédito contributo para a investigação em design e para a investigação dos processos criativos.
The purpose of this work is the development of a computational model of design creativity to enable the generation of adequate and creative solutions to communication design problems. To that end, a three-pronged study was developed: 1) Development of a generic model of creativity, based on Kaufman & Beghetto's Four-C model of creativity, on Csikszentmihalyi's systemic model of creativity, and on Finke's Geneplore model, also taking into consideration relevant implications from situated cognition theories and from Edelman's theory of neural group selection; 2) A critique of design methodology. 3) Development of a design-specific model of creativity, based on a literature review and an empirical study which started with semistructured interviews with 7 senior designers, and ended with a questionnaire gathering 37 variables from 509 designers across 44 countries; The results of the empirical study suggest the creative process is informal, dynamic, iterative, and composed of at least three identifiable steps: research, idea generation, and evaluation. Designers tend not to use formal methods of idea generation, and their efforts to enhance their creativity seem bleak. The use of inspiration sources is fundamental to the creative process and most designers rely on a very limited and stable number of sources. Design comes through as a highly self-referential domain, since the top source of inspiration in any field is the work of other designers in that same field. The main contribution of the present study is in the unified theory of the creative process that is used to cast the computational model presented, which spans the intramental scale of analogical thought and macro scale of social and cultural interactions between the domain, the field, and the individual, and among different fields and domains. Besides the main contribution, the empirical study is, in and of itself, a major and novel contribution to design research and to creativity research.

This thesis deals with the character named Golem and its possible interpretations. The first chapter is aimed generally at artificial creations, a category Golem is often reckoned as a part of. Second chapter deals with the origin and the meaning of the word Golem. This chapter also lists down Golem's attributes and instructions for its creation. The following two chapters describe the typical concept of Golem as well as the archetype of a shadow and the motif of a double. C.G. Jung was dealing with the archetype of a shadow in detail while the issue of a double is based on the works by O. Fisher and D. Hoder. The fifth chapter is dedicated to the Prague Golem and its author Rabbi Löw. In addition to Czech legends, German ones are also included, namely the book Sippurim that served as a source of information used by many authors who had been influenced by the Golem theme. Following chapters analyse particular works of German literature. First it is the poem Die Geschichte von dem Golem by Ludwig Kalisch. Here, the theme of Golem is elaborated in a lyrical way. An analysis of A. von Armin's work named Isabella von Ägypten comes next. This work tells a story of Golem's wife who is a double of the main character Bella. In addition to these two works, an interpretation of the story called Der Sandmann...

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá postavou Golema v dílech německých a českých autorů. V první kapitole se zaměřuji na Prahu na přelomu 19. a 20. století, kde se tomuto tématu věnovali hlavně němečtí, převážně židovští autoři. Jejich tvorba je označována pojmem "pražská německá literatura". Vedle nich o Golemovi píší i čeští spisovatelé. V druhé kapitole přibližuji dobu za vlády Rudolfa II., kdy žil rabi Löw, který podle pověsti Golema stvořil a oživil šémem. Poslední kapitola je věnována obecným informacím o oživlé hliněné postavě. Následně zde analyzuji jednotlivá díla předem vybraných autorů. Po zhodnocení sedmi bodů, na které jsem se ve své práci zaměřila, uvádím výsledky této analýzy. V některých případech uchopili autoři jednotlivé situace velice podobně, v některých se značně odlišovali. Právě odlišnost přístupu a pestré variace zpracování dotváří Golemův mysteriozní obraz.

The occult philosopher Eliphas Levi, in hi book Transcendental Magic, write Behind the veil of all the hieratic and mystical allegories of ancient doctrine, behind the darkness and strange ordeal of all initiation , under the seal of all sacred writing, in the ruins of Nineveh or Thebes, on the crumbling to stones of old temple and on the blackened visage of the Assyrian or Egyptian sphinx , in the monstrous or marvellous painting which interpret to the faithful of India the inspired page of the Veda , in the cryptic emblems of our old book on alchemy, in the ceremonies practised at reception by all secret societies , there are found indication of a doctrine which is everywhere the same and carefully concealed. The thesis proposes the existence of an elite, esoteric tradition of music composition in which the doctrine referred to by Levi is both revealed and concealed. From antiquity to the present day, this doctrine has been conveyed from teacher to pupil in the manner of an oral tradition. I have highlighted two of the tradition's central figures, Ferruccio Busoni (1866-1924) and Larry Sitsky (1934-). Sitsky was a piano student of Busoni's famous disciple Egon Petri, and through him, a vicarious composition student of Busoni. Their respective Faustian operas, Doktor Faust and The Golem, clearly articulate the philosophical and theoretical basis of this doctrine. The first volume discusses the Busoni-Sitsky esoteric tradition as it is revealed in Doktor Faust and The Golem, and in the writings and testimonies of the compsers. The second volume is an articulation of the same doctrine in my own original composition, Leonardo: the Italian Faust, an opera in three acts for symphony orchestra, choir and singer, with a libretto by Justice Kenneth Crispin. Scores and recordings of satellite works have been included as an appendix to the opera score.

Main goal of this thesis is to test efectivity of teaching grammar school literature based on one book only. Secundary goal is to make teaching of historical literature for grammar's school first and second year students more attractive. This thesis is based on five worksheets, every one of them is designed for different literary aim. All of them are based on book "Můj Golem" wrote by Marek Toman. Lectures are governed by three-phase model of teaching which combines different methods for work with pupils. This thesis proofs that, use of one book in long-term tuition with different attitude, combined with appropriate goals and attractive methods, is one way to teach literature. Also this thestis helps making rather unpopular subject of historical literature more attractive to students.

This thesis deals with a myth concept in Thomas Mann's and Ivan Olbracht's work. In regard to the tertium comparationis, which is myth, Mann's novels Joseph and His Brothers (Joseph und seine Brüder) and Doctor Faustus (Doktor Faustus) as well as Olbracht's novels The Bitter and the Sweet (Nikola Šuhaj loupežník) and Valley of Exile (Golet v údolí) are analysed. The concepts of these two authors are being compared both on a genetic level, which includes a possible influence of the tetralogy Joseph and His Brothers on Olbracht's work, and on a typological level. The second one includes analogies, which are independent of the possible direct influence. The thesis is methodological based on interpretation of fictional texts and their continuous comparison considering a literary-historical context and cultural-historical background of that time. Especially in some details, it can be considered that Thomas Mann had a direct influence on Olbracht's work in case of both of the novels. A number of analogies have been found, which exemplify a resemblance between the authors but which don't deny that Olbracht was an autonomous and creative personality at the same time. The specific myth concept of both authors harmonise with a period tendency in the modern literature.
