In this thesis properties of the Gö
del spacetime are analyzed and it is explicitly shown that there exist closed timelike curves in this spacetime. Geodesic motions for massive particles and light rays are investigated. One observes the focusing effect as a result of the solution of the geodesic equations. The time it takes for a free particle released from a point to come back to its starting point is calculated. A geometrical interpretation of the Gö
del spacetime is given and the question of what the Gö
del spacetime looks like is answered.

Abstract:

Nya regler för den svenska elmarknaden trädde i kraft den 1 januari 1996 och den innehöll regler som skulle innefatta konkurrens i elproduktion och handel med el. Transport av el i nätet betraktas dock som ett naturligt monopol och kom därmed att undantas konkurrensutsättning. Syftet med avregleringen 1996 var att skapa valfrihet för el-användarna och öka effektiviteten i produktions och försäljningsledet. ”Konkurrensen inom elhandeln skulle skapa förutsättningar för en ökad pris och kostnadspress inom elförsörjningen”. Det problemområde som ska undersökas är av vilken anledning en del kunder tackar nej till erbjudandet under de 2 ångerveckorna. Företaget vill få ner antalet som tackar nej och vill nu få reda på hur de bättre kan sälja in konceptet och framställa informationen. Vidare ska också undersökas vilka faktorer de befintliga kunder anser är viktigast när de ska byta elleverantör samt hur den första kontakten med företaget togs. Teorierna som används i undersökningen är Porters fem konkurrenskrafter, SWOT-analys samt en teori som inte blockerar tänkandet. Empirin inhämtades genom intervjuer med GodEls Vd samt energimyndigheten vidare gjordes också undersökningar mot målgrupperna, ångerkunder samt befintliga kunder. De främsta faktorerna som påverkar GodEl är såklart konkurrenterna på marknaden och då främst de tre stora. Vattenfall, E.ON, och Fortum är de företag som GodEl ser som sina främsta konkurrenter och det har man motverkat genom att ha en prisgaranti mot dessa tre. Vidare är konceptet helt klart grundstenen för GodEl som organisation. Att hålla stenhårt på detta och följa det i alla lägen ska utmynna i nöjda kunder vilket undersökningen har påvisat att så är fallet. Den största anledningen till att kunderna tackade nej till GodEl var helt klart priset, vilket gör att det är en stor faktor att ta hänsyn till på marknaden.

Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to argue for a textualist view of reality. By 'textualist view of reality’ is meant a standpoint whereby any subject position can be seen to be only provisional, not absolute. It is established early in the thesis that only an approach that draws on both the analytic and the continental schools of philosophy is adequate for such a project; roughly speaking, the continental school supplies the necessary critique of foundational approaches, while the analytic school situates the argument in an overtly rigorous context. The necessity for a textualist view of reality is in part evidenced by the perception that analytic philosophy has no means whereby mathematical truth can be reconciled with truth in general. The thesis starts with an examination of number and the infinite (consideration of which is shown to be essential to a textualist view of reality) from an historical perspective, and then examines Cantor's theory of infinite sets. The four main philosophies of mathematics arising from the foundational problems associated with Cantor's ideas are then considered. It is maintained that Godel's Kantian platonism provides a means of reconciling mathematical truth with truth in general, and that Derrida's critique of Kant enables this platonism to be framed in more sophisticated. textualist terms. AS, however, a Kantian/Derridean model has implications for physics - in particular with regard to the physical infinite the thesis devotes two chapters to these implications. The final chapter shows how the thesis' textualist view of reality in many ways is most naturally expressed as a Cantorian "diagonal argument".

Abstract:
We present an extension of the Godel logic programming language code generator which compiles user-defined functions. These functions may be used as arguments in predicate or goal clauses. They are defined in extended Godel as rewrite rules. A translation scheme is introduced to convert function definitions into predicate clauses for compilation. This translation scheme and the compilation of functional arguments both employ leftmost-innermost narrowing. As function declarations are indistinguishable from constructor declarations, a function detection method is implemented. The ultimate goal of this research is the implementation of extended Godel using needed narrowing. The work presented here is an intermediate step in creating a functional-logic language which expands the expressiveness of logic programming and streamlines its execution.

The concept of intentional stance, a very important concept of Daniel Dennett’s philosophical thought, is a central aspect to a naturalized viewpoint of intentionality. There are three levels to predicting the behavior of an object: 1) The physical stance, at this level, the prediction is based on the physical properties or physical laws. 2) The design stance, at this level, the prediction is based on the function of an object. 3) The intentional stance, at this level, the object is considered a intentional agent, that has belief, thinking and intention. More over, from Dennett’s point of view, the naturalization of intentionality is the way to the possibility of construction of computers that will have intentional behavior. Also, the development of intelligent computers is the objective of Artificial Intelligence (AI) research. And also, is important to show the refutations of two skeptical arguments that try to prove the impossibility of machines intentionality. Two arguments against some aspects of AI research are the Gödel’s theorem argument and the chinese room argument. The objective of dissertation is show that the concept pf intentional stance is a possibility to construction of artificial intentional agents.
O conceito de postura intencional, um conceito de suma importância no pensamento filosófico de Daniel Dennett, é um aspecto central para um ponto de vista naturalizado da intencionalidade. Há três modos distintos para predizer o comportamento de um objeto: 1) A postura física, através da qual a predição é feita baseando-se nas propriedades físicas ou leis físicas 2) A postura de projeto, onde consideramos a função de um objeto. 3) A postura intencional, através da qual consideramos um objeto como um agente intencional, dotado de crenças, pensamentos e intenções. Adicionalmente, do ponto de vista de Dennett,em parte, a naturalização da intencionalidade é o caminho para a possibilidade de construção de computadores que apresentarão comportamento intencional. Comparativamente, o desenvolvimento de computadores inteligentes é o objetivo da pesquisa de inteligência artificial ( IA). Ademais, é importante mostrar as refutações de dois argumentos céticos que tentam provar a impossibilidade da intencionalidade em máquinas. Dois argumentos críticos a certos aspectos da pesquisa de IA são o argumento do teorema de Gödel e o argumento do quarto chinês. O objetivo da dissertação é mostrar que o conceito de postura intencional é uma possibilidade para a construção de agentes intencionais artificiais.

Abstract:
The integration of a functional component into a logic language extends the expressive power of the language. One logic language which would benefit from such an extension is Godel, a prototypical language at the leading edge of the research in logic programming. We present a modification of the Godel parser which enables the parsing of evaluable functions in Godel. As the first part of an extended Godel, the parser produces output similar to the output from the original Godel parser, ensuring that Godel modules are properly handled by the extended-Godel parser. Parser output is structured to simplify, as much as possible, the future task of creating an extended compiler implementing evaluation of functions using narrowing. We describe the structure of the original Godel parser, the objects produced by it, the modifications made for the implementation of the extended Godel and the motivation for those modifications. The ultimate goal of this research is production of a functional component for Godel which evaluates user-defined functions with needed narrowing, a strategy which is sound, complete, and optimal for inductively sequential rewrite systems.

Cette etude porte sur la calculabilite d'un domaine fini. Cette etude a plusieurs liens avec l'informatique theorique entre autre des liens avec les bases de donnees la complexite algorithmique et la theorie des langages de programmation. Pour cela, nous definissons la notion de fonction globale: une fonction globale f est une fonction globale telle que f(n) est une fonction sur le domaine fini o,. . . , n. Le systeme t de godel est un langage de programmation fonctionnelle qui generalise les fonctions primitives recursives. Nous introduisons les operateurs de recurrence pour chaque type et obtenons, ainsi, une extension du systeme t. En considerant les quatre parametres: 1) le rang de la fonctionnelle utilisee, 2) le rang de la fonctionnelle definie, 3) le rang de la fonctionnelle definie par recurrence, 4) le rang de la fonctionnelle sur lequel est faite la recurrence. Nous montrons que la classe dspace (exp(k,poly(domaine))) est capturee par les classes de termes suivantes: (1)=2k+3+j (2)=k+1 (3)+(4)=2k+2. D'autre part, dtime (exp(k,poly(domaine))) est capturee par les classes de termes suivantes: (1)=2k+2+j (2)=k+1 (3)+(4)=2k+1

In this thesis we have shown that a seemingly complicated mathematical structure can exhibit 'tame behaviour'. The structure we have dealt with is a field (a space in which there are addition and multiplication which satisfy natural properties) together with a dense subset (a subset which has spread in all parts of the this set, as Q does in R) and a discrete subset (a subset comprised of single points which keep certain distances from one another). This tameness is essentially with regards to not being trapped with the 'Godel phenomeonon' as the Peano arithmetic does.

Abstract:
Background: Due to several threats that are facing our planet a hybrid business form has emerged throughout the recent decade, the social enterprise (SE). A SE is created with one purpose, to create social value. However, it is also aiming for financial profit to be able to fulfill its social mission. The dual focus of SEs differentiates them from other business forms and much remains to understand how they manage this over time. Little is known about SE business models (BMs) and how they develop over time. Problem Discussion: Globalization has led to increased business competition, which in turn has led to an increased attention of business model innovation (BMI) as a tool to create and/or sustain competitive advantage. Since BMI can be a key process in all industries it is relevant to understand BMI in order to manage it successfully and achieve a good result. Unfortunately little attention has been given to the BMI process, how BMI unfolds over time. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore how BMI unfolds over time at GodEl. This will be done by: (1) looking at how the BM components have changed over time from the establishment of the firm until present, and (2) identifying main events that have triggered these changes. Methodology: This study is a qualitative single case study. The data has been collected via 16 semi-structured interviews, two focus groups, as well as via historical archives. The findings have been analyzed in a within-case analysis. The case organization is GodEl, a Swedish electric retailer. Empirical Findings: The findings contain a complete review of the company history and BMI between 2001 and 2015, based on the collected data. It is structured in identified time periods. Conclusions: It can be concluded that BMI at GodEl between its establishment and present day has been achieved by small incremental changes in the BM components one step at a time. It has been a continuous process of trial-and- error. Future Research: Further research is needed in order to deepen the understanding of BMI process.

I och med framväxten av samhällsentreprenörer har ett nytt begrepp introducerats påden svenska marknaden. Det handlar om den nya generationen företagare som sermöjligheten i att tjäna pengar samtidigt som de driver verksamheter som skapar ettmervärde för samhället. Samhällsentreprenörerna i Sverige står dock framför ett problem,att på ett hållbart sätt finansiera sin verksamhet.Denna studie syftar till att kartlägga hur finansieringen av svenska samhällsentreprenörerser ut. Undersökningen bygger på en kvalitativ studie där vi har undersökt tresvenska verksamheter, som faller under definitionen ”samhällsentreprenör”. Ämnet ärfortfarande relativt nytt och okänt och det har därför inte bedrivits mycket forskningkring detta. Vi har därför, som underlag för vår undersökning, använt oss av en studiesom gjordes 2003 i Storbritannien.Då vi endast undersökt tre verksamheter har vi inte kunnat dra några generella slutsatserför hela den svenska marknaden. Dock indikerar resultatet av vår undersökning attden svenska marknaden, för att finansiera denna typ av verksamhet, är bristfällig och ibehov av utveckling. För såväl förutsättningarna som efterfrågan på samhällsentreprenörerfinns redan idag och denna grupp företagare ser ut att öka inom den närmasteframtiden.

Abstract:
This thesis is focused on the derivation of a new approach to business. Emphasis is put on organizations contributing to both economic success as well as social progress.  This dual financial and social value creation is referred to as social entrepreneurship. Increased attention and inclusiveness of the concept has led to confusion regarding the means of organizations acting within the recited phenomenon. Organizations are met with skepticism and are questioned in the matters of legitimacy. Differences of opinion centralize on whether companies invest these resources because it is demanded, because it strengthens the brand or simply because it is the responsibility of the corporation. The perception of legitimacy is dependent on the support the organization receives from its different constituencies. To explore social entrepreneurship, a case study was conducted. This case study was executed through a consumer perspective, seeing as legitimacy is upheld by the perception of the organizations immediate audience. The case company used, GodEl, operates using traditional business models with the purpose of maximizing profits. However, 100% of their earned dividend is donated to various charity organizations. This study is set out with the ambition to gain an understanding of a corporation operating within social entrepreneurship. The conclusions imply that the customers of GodEl legitimize their choice through diverse legitimizing dimensions. The findings indicate that pragmatic legitimacy is a stronger legitimizing dimension than moral legitimacy. These conclusions imply that larger emphasis is given to consumer self-interest, rather than the consequences and judgment of the organizations accomplishments. The ways in which customers legitimize their choices, may also be argued as the same factors affecting GodEls legitimacy regarding their operations.

Abstract:
For all the successes of the two edifices of modern physics, quantum theory and Einstein's relativity, a fundamental description of the Universe as a whole -- a theory that informs as to the true nature of reality -- has continued to elude science. This thesis describes the development and evolution of a new paradigm called Process Physics, a radical information-theoretic modelling of reality. It is argued that the failure of the extant approaches in physics is the direct consequence of limitations stemming from the mathematization, language and methodology of theoretical physics: the limitations of the postulated background spatial concepts and geometric modelling of time, the limitations of quantum theory in its failure to account for the measurement process and classicality; and the limitations of formal systems. In contrast, Process Physics utilizes the limitations of logic first identified by Godel and asserts the priority of process and relational endophysics, realized via a stochastic, autopoietic bootstrap system whose properties emerge a posteriori rather than being assumed a priori. The work is arranged in two parts. Part I discusses the historical, philosophical, and metaphysical foundations of physics to consider how the prevailing views in modern physics arose and what this revealed and contributed to the development of Process Physics. Part II describes the fundamentals of the new theory and its implementation, and demonstrates the viability of looking outside the current paradigms by showing that Process Physics yields unified emergent phenomena that permit an understanding of fundamental processes and penultimately motivate both quantum theory and relativity as relevant higher-level descriptors within their respective domains.

“Homeomorphic'' is the standard equivalence relation in topology. To a topologist, spaces which are homeomorphic to each other aren't merely similar to each other, they are the same space. We study a class of functions which are homeomorphic at “most'' of the points of their domains and codomains, but which may fail to satisfy some of the properties required to be a homeomorphism at a “small'' portion of the points of these spaces. Such functions we call “almost homeomorphisms.'' One of the nice properties of almost homeomorphisms is the preservation of almost open sets, i.e. sets which are “close'' to being open, except for a “small'' set of points where the set is “defective.'' We also find a surprising result that all non-empty, perfect, Polish spaces are almost homeomorphic to each other.A standard technique in algebraic topology is to pass between a continuous map between topological spaces and the corresponding homomorphism of fundamental groups using the π1 functor. It is a non-trivial question to ask when a specific homomorphism is induced by a continuous map; that is, what is the image of the π1 functor on homomorphisms?We will call homomorphisms in the image of the π1 functor “tangible homomorphisms'' and call homomorphisms that are not induced by continuous functions “intangible homomorphisms.'' For example, Conner and Spencer used ultrafilters to prove there is a map from HEG to Z2 not induced by any continuous function f : HE→ Y , where Y is some topological space with π1(Y ) = Z2. However, in standard situations, such as when the domain is a simplicial complex, only tangible homomorphisms appear..Our job is to describe conditions when intangible homomorphisms exist and how easily these maps can be constructed. We use methods from Shelah and Pawlikowski to prove that Conner and Spencer could not have constructed these homomorphisms with a weak version of the Axiom of Choice. This leads us to define and examine a class of pathological objects that cannot be constructed without a strong version of the Axiom of Choice, which we call the class of inscrutable objects. Objects that do not need a strong version of the Axiom of Choice are scrutable. We show that the scrutable homomorphisms from the fundamental group of a Peano continuum are exactly the homomorphisms induced by a continuous function.

A capacidade para antecipar ameaças ou oportunidades, com o intuito de atingir os objetivos estratégicos de uma organização, tornou-se uma necessidade para a maioria dos agentes sociais, econômicos, políticos e institucionais. Da mesma forma, percebe-se que a prospectiva estratégica vem ganhando cada vez maior espaço, nos mais variados tipos de organizações, por tratar-se de uma metodologia eficaz para compreensão do futuro e definição de rumos e estratégias organizacionais. Assim, neste contexto, destaca-se que a presente pesquisa buscou desenvolver um processo de aplicação da metodologia de prospectiva estratégica, preconizada por Michel Godet, autor referência no tema, para Arranjos Produtivos Locais (APLs). Ressalte-se que, apesar da busca exaustiva, não foi possível encontrar, na literatura, estudos que apresentassem um processo de aplicação da metodologia de prospectiva estratégica de Godet, especificamente, voltados para APLs, o que representou uma lacuna a ser preenchida, bem como veio a caracterizar a originalidade da tese. Isto posto, observe-se que através de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, também classificada como aplicada, e que utilizou para o desenvolvimento de seu processo a técnica de pesquisa-ação, foram coletadas as informações necessárias junto ao Observatório de Desenvolvimento Industrial de Santa Catarina (ODI/SC), que desenvolveu ações desse tipo, para o APL de Tecnologia de Informação e Comunicação de Santa Catarina (APLTIC/SC), Brasil. Deste trabalho, definiu-se um processo, a partir da metodologia de prospectiva estratégica de Godet, especificamente, para APLs, apresentando elementos, ferramentas e orientações adequadas, bem como se realizou uma aplicação no APLTIC/SC. Do processo de aplicação, destaque-se que, quanto à definição de ferramentas, não se percebeu diferença em comparação àquelas identificadas na literatura pertinente, utilizadas em organizações, de uma maneira geral, contudo, durante a realização das oficinas prospectivas, identificou-se inúmeras especificidades, ou seja, facilidades e dificuldades para o contexto de um APL. Além disso, com base no processo de aplicação, definiu-se mudanças, rupturas e inércias; variáveis-chave; condicionantes; hipóteses-chave de evolução; cenários futuros; e um plano de ação que oferecem subsídios para o desenvolvimento e fortalecimento do arranjo considerado no horizonte 2008 a 2018, com um marco em 2013 (cinco anos) no Road Map resultante.

Syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka hur de elever som studerar på en gymnasieskolas vuxenutbildning tycker att en lärare ska vara, och om det skiljer sig i uppfattning mellan svenska elever och elever med utländsk härkomst. Eftersom undervisningen ska vara individanpassad så tycker jag att det är intressant att undersöka den här frågeställningen för min fortsatta lärargärning. Jag valde att göra en kvalitativ studie, där 20 stycken elever ombads att skriva ett brev för att svara på vissa förutbestämda frågor, detta brev var anonymt och uppgiften delades ut vid två tillfällen för att kunna särskilja om eleverna var svenska eller med utländsk härkomst. Elevernas svar tolkades sedan utifrån ett hermeneutiskt perspektiv, eftersom där kan svaren fritt analyseras och förstås och därigenom få en helhetsbeskrivning och en mer djupgående kunskap om hur det undersökta gestaltar sig. Undersökningen visade på att för samtliga deltagande elever var lärandesituationen i klassrummet viktig, hur läraren genomför sina lektioner. Att vara rättvis, snäll, men även att inte favorisera någon elev var också gemensamt för alla elever. Skillnaden i förhållandet till de svenska och utlandsfödda eleverna var att samtliga elever med utländsk härkomst tog upp en kommunikativ förmåga och en djupare personlig omsorg som en betydelsefull egenskap i sättet att vara.

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: The rise of Ancient Egyptian civilization by the end of the fourth millennium BC was essentially a religious process. The civilization developed from a religious core that was formed by and in the Nile valley. Metaphors were drawn from the context of the Nile to represent deities. In different epochs and at different places, creation myths attempted explaining the mystery of the origin of god and man. According to these myths, both god and man were created by a primal being after it had brought itself into being. In an attempt to depict different facets of deities, various metaphors were used. One and the same god could be represented as a human and as an animal. Nonetheless, all deities possessed human features and all functioned in human structures. In the primal state mankind and the gods coexisted in harmony. When man rebelled this harmony was shattered, and the gods left the world of man. After the gods had left earth they could be approached only by a mediator. The role of mediator was played by the pharaoh. It was the pharaoh's mission to maintain the order on earth that had been present since creation. Inthe office as high priest of all cults it was incumbent on the pharaoh to keep the gods satisfied by ensuring them of the maintenance of Ma'at. In this the pharaoh as god-king was assisted by a hierarchy of priests who performed cult rituals in temples and sacrificed to the gods. To a great extent, ordinary people were excluded from formal religion and resorted to popular or demotic religion. The dominant role of artefacts in death and grave rituals does not signify an obsession with death. All rituals and artefacts were involved in maintaining life after death, and the afterlife was something that Ancient Egyptians implicitly believed in. Admission to life after death required a morally sound and just life, which was determined in the judgement ceremony when the deeds of the deceased were placed on a scale weighted with the feather of Ma'at. Religion, with the pharaoh at its centre, permeated every aspect of daily life in Ancient Egypt.
AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die opkoms van die Antieke Egiptiese beskawing teen die einde van die vierde millennium vC was essensieel 'n godsdienstige proses. Die beskawing het rondom 'n godsdiens ontwikkel wat sy skering en inslag in die vrugbare Nylvallei gehad het. Metafore uit die Nylkonteks is gebruik om die godedom te vergestalt. Skeppingsmites het op verskillende tye en op verskillende plekke 'n verklaring van die ontstaansgeheim van gode en mense probeer gee. Hiervolgens is alle gode en mense deur 'n oerwese geskape nadat hierdie oerwese homself tot stand gebring het. In 'n poging om die verskillende fasette van gode uit te beeld, is verskillende metafore gebruik; dieselfde god kon vergestalt word as mens en/of dier. Tog het alle gode menslike eienskappe gehad en het hulle almal in menslike strukture gefunksioneer. In die oerstaat sou mense en gode in harmonie saamleef. Toe die mens in opstand gekom het, is hierdie harmonie versteur, en die gode het die wêreld van die mensdom verlaat. Nadat die gode die aarde verlaat het, kon hulle net deur 'n middelaar bereik word. Die rol van middelaar is ingeneem deur die farao. Dit was die opdrag van die farao om die orde wat van die skepping af teenwoordig was, op aarde te handhaaf. In sy amp as hoëpriester van alle kultusse moes die farao daagliks die gode tevrede hou deur hulle van die instandhouding van Ma'at te verseker. Hierin is hy as godkoning bygestaan deur 'n hiërargie van priesters wat in tempels kultusrituele uitgevoer en offers aan die gode gebring het. Die gewone mens is in 'n groot mate uitgesluit van formele godsdiens en het 'n heenkome in volksgodsdiens gevind. Die dominante rol wat artefakte rondom die dood en grafrituele speel, het geensins gedui op 'n beheptheid met die dood nie. Alle rituele en toerusting is gerig op die instandhouding van die lewe na die dood, waaraan die Antieke Egiptenaar onwrikbaar geglo het. Toetrede tot die lewe na die dood het 'n moreel regverdige lewe vereis en is bepaal by die oordeelseremonie wanneer die afgestorwene se dade op 'n skaal teenoor die veer van Ma'at geweeg is. Elke aspek van die daaglikse lewe in Antieke Egipte is geraak en bepaal deur die besondere rol van die godsdiens en die farao as hoofrolspeler in die godsdiens.

Intervjuerna syftade till att ta reda på vilka faktorer som har varit gynnsamma för inlärarna i deras inlärning av svenska. Resultatet visar att det är komplext vilka faktorer som spelar in när man ska lära sig ett nytt språk. Av intervjuerna kan man dra slutsatsen att motivation är en av de tyngsta faktorerna för dessa inlärares inlärning av svenska. Tidigare språkkunskaper och eventuellt även språkbegåvning kan också ha bidragit till inlärningen.

The aim of this study was to examine how the interviewed primary teachers in two schools situated in the Stockholm area understand themselves as teachers in relation to their image of the good teacher. The research questions were:  How do the informants discuss their image of the good teacher?  How do the informants describe their own role as a teacher? A qualitative method, by interviews made with four primary teachers, was used to collect data for the examination. The results from the interviews were analyzed and discussed from the theories and earlier research concerning the role of the teacher and what they describe as the good teacher. The theoretical connection of this study was based on the theories of Vygotsky, Piaget, Bruner, Dewey, Dreikurs, Kounin and Glasser concerning the relationship between the role of the teacher and learning. The conclusions of this study was that the four primary teacher’s image of the good teacher match their description of their own role as a teacher, and so does the most of the earlier research on the subject. Teachers must possess a broad competence and contiously control a lot. I believe that teachers’ personal characteristics in some cases can affect the quality of teaching and the pupils’ learning but I think that it is primarily the teacher’s attitude to their professional role and the teaching quality in itself that contributes to learning. An extrovert or humble teacher is not necessarily a better teacher than those who do not have these characteristics, but who carries on a teaching marked by orderliness and commitment. I do not think there is a definitive link between a teaching that contributes to learning and the personal characteristics that are often associated with the good teacher.

Extensive research has been done on leadership in the school system, but the nature of the concept's variations makes it difficult to grasp what good teacher leadership consists of. Teacher-student relationships are a fundamental part of teachers' professional practice and their significance for school practice cannot be neglected. A large part of the research on teachers' leadership is aimed at how leadership should be conducted through the organization of the classroom, towards an effective study environment. The question that arises in this study is instead how teachers' relational leadership is perceived and valued from the students' point of view. The purpose of the study is thus to investigate the importance of relational leadership from students' perspectives. This is done by interviewing six students from year two at a Swedish high school, and the empirical material is thereafter compared to a pre-constructed ideal type of relational leadership using PeRL. Through this approach, the study intends to contribute to the field of research on teacher leadership by examining and elucidating its relational dimension. Results suggest that teachers' relational leadership is highly important for students, and that students have a slightly different approach to relationships in school compared to research on the field. Furthermore, the study concludes that students must be involved in the discussion about the purpose of education to a greater extent, and that the conversation about teacher leadership should play a more prominent role at the school policy level.

Crisp mathematical programming techniques have shortcomings when used for measuring and evaluating achievement of organizational goals in a decision-making environment. Generally, in most real-life situations optimal achievement of multiple goals is rarely possible. In such cases, a compromise achievement of goals that leads to a satisfycing solution rather than an optimal solution bears more relevance.

The present research introduces a framework to measure and evaluate the goals of efficiency and effectiveness in a fuzzy environment and is developed using Goal Programming, Data Envelopment Analysis and Fuzzy Set Theory. The proposed framework is called Fuzzy GoDEA and uses surrogate constraints to represent the efficiency and effectiveness goals. DEA type constraints are used to model the efficiency goal. The effectiveness goal is represented by the aggregate efficient contribution of the individual decision-making units toward achievement of the global organizational targets. Concepts of fuzzy set theory and goal programming are used to model the imprecision in goal achievement and the relative importance between goals. Additionally, the concept of minimal operational viability is introduced, though not included in the application due to unavailability of suitable data.

The Fuzzy GoDEA framework accommodates crisp input and output data but allows imprecise specification of the aspiration levels for the efficiency and effectiveness goals. The imprecision in goal achievement is allowed through the specification of an interval of acceptable achievement rather than a crisp value. A membership function is defined for each fuzzy constraint associated with the efficiency and effectiveness goals and represents the degree of achievement of that constraint. Further, the Fuzzy GoDEA framework is extended into several variations that (i) allow the assignment of relative importance to the goals of efficiency and effectiveness and (ii) model scenarios where one of the goals of efficiency and effectiveness is crisp and the other fuzzy.

The applied component of the research involves the application of the Fuzzy GoDEA framework to a newspaper preprint insertion process (NPIP). Detailed analyses of the results are presented to describe the information available from the Fuzzy GoDEA methodology that can be used in conjunction with conventional DEA analysis to assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness performance of the NPIP system.

Abstract:

I denna studie kommer vi att forska om entreprenörskap. Vi går igenom vad som kännetecknar en entreprenör och vad som skiljer en entreprenör från en vanlig företagare. Olika entreprenörer skapar olika produkter i olika branscher.

 

Vi har avgränsat oss till de mest framgångsrika entreprenörerna för att se vad som krävs för att bli en framgångsrik entreprenör. Det är personligheten bakom företaget som har idéerna och driver företaget framåt. Vi kommer att studera denne framgångsrike entreprenörens drivkrafter, egenskaper och psykologi.

 

Vidare kommer vi att använda teori om entreprenören och jämföra det med vår empiri. Empirin är framtagen för att få en verklighetsuppfattning av ämnet. Vi kommer att intervjua en framgångsrik entreprenör och göra direkta jämförelser till teorin. Vår entreprenör är Bert Karlsson. Vi har valt honom för att han passar in som entreprenör i vår studie. Bert är en framgångsrik entreprenör som har en speciell personlighet som ger honom mervärde i hans utövande som affärsman. Hans personlighet är även väldigt tvärtemot den jantelagsmentalitet som finns i Sverige och det innebär att det finns väldigt många olika uppfattningar om honom som person. Han är ett bra exempel på en person som lyckats utan att vara som jantelagen beskriver, därför blir han intressant.

Vi kommer även att använda färdiga intervjuer för att sammanställa en grund för vår empiri och även ett föra ett samtal med honom för att höra hans åsikter.

 

Mot slutet kommer vi att diskutera lösningar till vår problemformulering. Vi kommenterar hur vi tänker och våra antaganden bygger på våra jämförelser mellan vår teori och empiri.

Abstract:

Detta är en studie kring hur filmer framställer olika grupper som risker, till exempel muslimer som terrorister. Vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie av tre spelfilmer, nämligen Rambo III, Belägringen och The Kingdom samt en dokumentärfilm; Det svider i hjärtat. I dessa filmer har vi tittat efter hur muslimer framställs. För att strukturera upp studien har vi valt ett tesdrivande tillvägagångssätt utifrån Karl Poppers metod och prövat en rad olika teoretiska begrepp och perspektiv. Dessa är Edward W. Saids föreställningar om orientalism och den andre, Alison Landsbergs protesminne,

representation, Stuart Halls mottagandesätt av visuell kultur samt Stuart Allans föreställningar om riskrapportering. Vi har presenterat och analyserat film för film med hjälp av Greimas aktantmodell.

Det vi kom fram till är att filmer mycket väl kan och skulle kunna fungera som ett slags riskrapportering. Dels på grund av publikens mottagande av visuell kultur och att publiken då kan väva in fiktiva berättelser och värderingar i sina egna minnen och erfarenheter precis som Landsbergs teorier om protesminne säger. När man ser filmerna med den här ingången är det uppenbart att filmerna varnar publiken för något likt den traditionella riskrapportering som Stuart Allan visat oss.

Abstract:
The tryptophan repressor protein regulates intracellular concentration of Tryptophan in Escherichia coli by binding to DNA operators and is activated in the presence of high L-Trp concentration by formation of an L-Trp-bound holo-repressor. A Leu to Phe mutation at position 75 generates a temperature-sensitive mutant of TrpR, L75F-TrpR, whereas an Ala to Val mutation only two residue positions further on the protein sequence, at residue position 77, generates a super-repressor mutant of TrpR. Backbone amide dynamics studies on TrpR and the two variants using ¹â��µ N-NMR relaxation techniques at a magnetic field strength of 600 MHz (¹ H Larmor frequency) indicate that all three repressors exhibit comparable diffusion properties, implying that they exhibit very similar global shape, structure, and rotational diffusion properties in both apo- and holo- states, in solution. However, internal backbone amide dynamics of the three apo-repressors reveal small but significant differences in flexibility, which are found primarily for residues spanning the Helix-Turn-Helix DNA-binding domain. These results indicate that the fine-tuning of L-Trp binding interaction is modulated in different ways via small but significant changes in protein flexibility in the two TrpR variants in apo and L-Trp bound forms. Sulfolobus solfataricus, a model organism for Archaea, lives in extreme thermal and acidic environments such as the hot springs of Yellowstone National Park, and is host to diverse archaeal viruses including Sulfolobus spindle shaped virus-1 (SSV1) and Sulfolobus spindle shaped virus-Ragged Hills (SSV-RH). SSV viruses exhibit remarkable morphology and genetic diversity, but are poorly understood as many proteins encoded by their genomes have very little sequence homology to proteins of known functions. We have performed detailed backbone dynamics studies to better understand the mode of ligand recognition by E73, a 73-residue, homodimeric protein encoded within SSV-RH genome. Analysis of backbone dynamics measurements obtained for E73 provides evidence for fast time scale dynamics in the proposed nucleic-acid binding site and motion on the microsecond to millisecond time scale in the loop connecting helices alpha A and alpha B.

Esta tesis se plantea el estudio de la representación del sujeto latinoamericano en la fotografía realizada por Graciela Iturbide y su obra Juchitán de las Mujeres (1979), y de Maya Goded y su obra Plaza de la Soledad (2006). En estas fotografías la aparición de nuevas identidades de género, en donde se entrelazan lo muxe, lo queer, lo étnico y lo racial, en el que el sujeto en cuestión será reconocido como “sujeto latinoamericano débil”, concepción que se buscará puntualizar desde las nociones de un pensamiento posmoderno, feminista y de género cruzado por la teoría latinoamericana. Como bien sabemos, tradicionalmente, la práctica fotográfica más extendida e identificada con la región es la documental y es en ésta en que aparece con mayor fuerza un “sujeto latinoamericano fuerte”. Como bien indica su denominación, el género documental se fundamenta en la consideración de sus fotografías como “documentos” fidedignos en los que es posible conocer identidades particulares. Todas estas modalidades de representación tienen por “objeto” privilegiado al “sujeto latinoamericano” y han contribuido a conformar una constelación de imaginarios que ha generado una identificación general de lo latinoamericano con la categoría de exótico respecto del centro occidental; práctica de exotización que se advierte, incluso, desde el interior de la propia Latinoamérica, lo que ha contribuido a la representación de un sujeto “latinoamericano fuerte”. Por otra parte nuestra intención es identificar las representaciones de un “sujeto latinoamericano débil”, el cual estaría fuera de los estereotipos de lo exótico.
