Abstract:
The complex structure of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) cable terminals leads to serious electric field concentration, which is a frequent fault position of a high-voltage cable system. At present, due to the differences in the frequency bands of sensors, various partial discharge detection technologies have certain differences in their scope of application and anti-interference performance, resulting in a low defect detection rate in GIS cable terminals. In this paper, a comprehensive diagnosis scheme is proposed, which integrates transient earth voltage (TEV), ultra-high frequency (UHF), high frequency (HF), and ultrasonic methods. Two abnormal discharge defects of GIS terminals in two 220 kV substations in Tianjin were tracked and monitored, and the joint diagnosis was carried out using the proposed scheme; the type of discharge defect and the phase sequence of the defect were determined, and the UHV was employed to precisely locate and analyze the defect source. Finally, through the disassembly analysis and electric field simulation of the GIS cable terminal, the accuracy and effectiveness of the discharge detection and location method were verified, providing a typical detection demonstration for the defect diagnosis of a GIS cable terminal.

Abstract GIS’s reducing unit is a new and environment-friendly structural unit, which can greatly reduce the consumption of aluminum alloy material and insulating gas. The structural size of this unit is much smaller than the conventional one. In this paper, an acoustic-structure coupling interaction model of partial discharge in reducing unit of gas insulated switchgear (GIS) is presented. The interaction between the internal acoustic source of partial discharge and structure of GIS is simulated with the finite element analysis, and the acoustic pressure levels distribution of GIS is obtained. The results show that the sound pressure distribution of the reducing unit is basically the same as that of the conventional one, but the amplitude is larger. At the same time, the high-frequency part of the acoustic signal attenuates more quickly in the reducing unit. This paper provides a theoretical guidance basis for the ultrasonic partial discharge detection of the GIS reducing unit.

As one of the public service resources, medical and health care has a great guarantee for people’s healthy life and life safety and is an important part of ensuring the normal and orderly operation of urban functions. This paper takes the spatial pattern of urban medical resources in Hohhot as the research object and collects three types of urban medical resources, including clinics (health centers), specialized hospitals, and general hospitals, a total of 1300 sample points, based on GIS spatial analysis methods, using the average nearest neighbor, kernel density estimation method, standard deviation ellipse method, and accessibility measure to analyze the spatial distribution of medical resources. The results show that the medical resources in the urban area of Hohhot are all in a state of agglomeration, but due to the different functions of different types of medical resources, their distribution ranges and distribution directions also show different characteristics. Saihan District, Yuquan District in the southwest, has fewer medical facilities resources, and the distribution of the accessibility of the three types of medical facilities is quite different. Therefore, the spatial balance of comprehensive medical resources in the urban area of Hohhot needs to be further improved. The results of this paper have implications for the layout of medical facilities and planning has important reference significance.

Abstract:
Gas insulated switchgear equipment (GIS) is widely used in power system, and more attention has been paid to discharge defects than mechanical defects. However, since mechanical defects are a major cause of the failure in GIS, it is of great significance to carry out relevant research on mechanical defects. Detection and diagnosis methods of mechanical defects based on vibration signal are studied in this paper. Firstly, vibration mechanisms of GIS are analyzed. Due to structural differences between single phase insulated type GIS and three phase insulated type GIS, there are big differences in vibration mechanisms between the two types of GISs. Secondly, experimental research on mechanical defects is carried out based on a 110 kV GIS equipment and a self-developed vibration detection system; results show that mechanical defects can be diagnosed by analyzing signal amplitude, frequency spectrum and waveform distortion rate, and a large current is more beneficial for diagnosing mechanical defects. Lastly, field application has been carried out on 220 kV GIS equipment, and a poor contact defect is found, demonstrating that abnormal diagnosis can be realized by method proposed in this paper. Experimental research and field application demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of detection and diagnosis method for mechanical defects based on vibration signal and provide experience for subsequent engineering application.

Abstract:
Abstract The current medium voltage Gas Insulated Switchgears (GIS) predominantly use Sulphur Hexafluoride (SF6) as insulation medium. The leakage tests performed on GIS use either SF6 or Helium medium to ensure gas tightness. However, SF6 has been strictly regulated for the last years due to the high global warming potential effect on the planet. As a response, new technologies are emerging using air as insulation medium. The present work establishes a basic comparison of the leakage rate in a medium voltage GIS using two different leak detection methods: Helium leak detector and Residual Gas Analyser (RGA). Both methods use Helium and additionally RGA using air as tracer gas.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper discusses the current issues of the application of classification and data processing in geoinformation systems. The problems of classification of various objects have been studied in the works of many authors. These include a fairly wide range of problems: decryption of satellite images, pattern recognition, mathematical modeling, etc. In this paper, we study the methods and techniques for classifying objects listed in the literature, as well as preliminary data processing: feature normalization, feature weighting, aggregation, dimensionality reduction, etc. The result of finding spatial features in an attribute space is often a representation of spatial features in the form of an object-feature matrix that reflects the measurement of M features on N spatial features and contains N rows and M columns. To classify spatial objects, you must have a geographical map of these objects and an object-attribute matrix, the rows of which correspond to the spatial objects. In order to properly classify, you need to perform pre-processing of the data, including normalization, weighting, dimensionality reduction, aggregation, and identification. After preliminary data processing, the objects are classified. The paper lists and describes such classification methods as nuclear classification methods, hierarchical divisive classification methods, hierarchical agglomerative classification methods, near neighbor method, far neighbor method, centroid method, group mean method (mean link method) and other issues related to the classification of geoinformation objects.

Abstract:
With the improvement of industrialization, the importance of equipment failure prediction is increasing day by day. Accurate failure prediction of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) in advance can reduce the economic loss caused by the failure of the power system to operate normally. Therefore, a GIS fault prediction approach based on Improved Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm (IPSO)-least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the future gas conditions of the GIS to determine the characteristic data of SF6 decomposition gas are analyzed; Secondly, a GIS fault prediction model based on LSSVM is established, and the IPSO algorithm is used to normalize the parameters LSSVM. The parameters of c and radial basis kernel function σ2 are optimized, which can meet the needs of later search accuracy while ensuring the global search capability in the early stage. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by the fault data of gas-insulated switch. Simulation results shows that, compared with the prediction methods based on IGA-LSSVM and PSO-LSSVM, the prediction accuracy rate of the proposed method reached 92.1%, which has the smallest prediction absolute error, higher accuracy and stronger prediction ability.

Abstract:
As a key component to ensure the safe operation of the power grid, mechanical defect diagnosis technology of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) during operation is often neglected. At present, GIS mechanical fault detection based on vibration information has not been developed. The main reason is that the excitation current is considerable but uncontrollable in the actual operation of GIS. It is difficult to eliminate the influence of excitation on the vibration amplitude and form an effective vibration feature description technology. Therefore, this paper proposes a unified feature-extraction method for GIS vibration information that reduces the influence of current amplitude for mechanical fault diagnosis. Starting from the GIS mechanical analysis, the periodicity of vibration excitation and the influence of amplitude are discussed. Then, combined with the non-linear characteristics of GIS systems and non-linear vibration theory, the multiplier frequency energy ratio (MFER) is designed to extract vibration-unified features of GIS for diagnosing the mechanical fault under different current levels. The diagnosis results of the experimental data with different feature-extraction methods show the applicability and superiority of the proposed method in the GIS’s mechanical fault-detection field based on vibration information.

Abstract:
The reliability of gas insulated switchgear (GIS) is very important for the safe operation of power systems. However, the research on potential faults of GIS is mainly focused on partial discharge, and the research on the intelligent detection technology of the mechanical state of GIS is very scarce. Based on the abnormal vibration signals generated by a GIS fault, a fault diagnosis method consisting of a frequency feature extraction method based on coherent function (CF) and a multi-layer classifier was developed in this paper. First, the Fourier transform was used to analyze the differences and consistency in the frequency spectrum of signals. Secondly, the frequency domain commonalities of the vibration signals were extracted by using CF, and the vibration characteristics were screened twice by using the correlation threshold and frequency threshold to further select the vibration features for diagnosis. Then, a multi-layer classifier composed of two one-class support vector machines (OCSVMs) and one support vector machine (SVM) was designed to classify the faults of GIS. Finally, the feasibility of the feature extraction method was verified by experiments, and compared with other classification methods, the stability and reliability of the proposed classifier were verified, which indicates that the fault diagnosis method promotes the development of an intelligent detection technology of the mechanical state in GIS.

Abstract:
The correct identification of partial discharge types is of great significance to the stable operation of GIS. In order to improve the recognition accuracy and result of partial discharge, and to meet the requirements of real-time monitoring of GIS equipment, this paper proposes a GIS partial discharge defect recognition model based on YOLOv5. First, the GIS partial discharge simulation experiment is established to create the dataset of partial discharge PRPD map. Then, a YOLOv5-based GIS partial discharge defect recognition model is constructed, and different training methods are used to optimize the parameters of the model. By comparing with target detection models based on other deep learning methods, such as Faster-RCNN and YOLOv4, the YOLOv5 model discussed in the paper has significantly improved the recognition efficiency and recognition accuracy, in which mAP value is 95.89% and FPS is 28.89. In addition, the model can realize the distinction and identification of multiple PD types in a single PRPD map. At last, the YOLOv5-based GIS partial discharge defect identification model is applied to the test in a 500 kV substation. The model accurately determines the type of GIS partial discharge, which verifies the accuracy and validity of the model.

Voids or cracks in basin insulators inside a GIS (gas-insulated metal-enclosed switchgear) could trigger partial discharges or surface flashover under electrical stresses, threatening safe GIS operation. For this paper, some epoxy composite specimens were made from similar materials and manufacturing processes to make 252 kV GIS basin insulators. Some voids with different diameters or cracks with different diameters and orientations were artificially made in the specimens with different thicknesses. An ultrasonic pulse-echo system was set up, and ultrasonic tests were carried out on the specimens with voids or cracks. A method to calculate the depth of a defect was proposed by the propagation time of defect reflected waves. The results showed that a depth of 50 mm, a diameter φ of 2 mm void, and a diameter φ of 1 mm crack in epoxy composite insulation were detected by the ultrasonic system using a 1 MHz transducer.

Abstract With the development of power grid technology and the widespread application of gas insulator switchgear (GIS) equipment, the power supply reliability of the power system has been greatly improved, but the problem of partial discharge (PD) faults in GIS has always been prominent, seriously affecting the safe and stable operation of the power grid. How to quickly determine the type and cause of GIS discharge is the key to online PD detection. In this paper, in order to deal with the very complicated data processing of ultra-high frequency (UHF) PD, the time-consuming and low efficiency of manually judging the type of PD, a classification model of UHF PD system based on deep confidence network (DBN) is established and an automatic classification method for UHF PD based on improved DBN is proposed; the activation function Sigmoid is improved to effectively prevent the occurrence of the gradient disappearance problem; the optimized DBN parameters are used to train and classify data of different PD types. The classification accuracy rate of the test results reached 96.7%, realizing the rapid classification evaluation of UHF PD types.

Abstract:
This paper introduces three new text classification methods: Clustering-Based Generalised Instances Set (CB-GIS), Multilevel Clustering-Based Generalised Instances Set (MLC_GIS) and Multilevel Clustering-Based, k Nearest Neighbours (MLC-kNN). These new methods aim to unify the strengths and overcome the drawbacks of the three similarity-based text classification methods, namely, kNN, centroid-based and GIS. The new methods utilise a clustering technique called spherical K-means to represent each class by a representative set of generalised instances to be used later in the classification. The CB-GIS method applies a flat clustering method while MLC-GIS and MLC-kNN apply multilevel clustering. Extensive experiments have been conducted to evaluate the new methods and compare them with kNN, centroid-based and GIS classifiers on the Reuters-21578(10) benchmark dataset. The evaluation has been performed in terms of the classification performance and the classification efficiency. Abstract:
Partial discharge (PD) is one of the major form expressions of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) insulation defects. Because PD will accelerate equipment aging, online monitoring and fault diagnosis plays a significant role in ensuring safe and reliable operation of the power system. Owing to feature engineering or vanishing gradients, however, existing pattern recognition methods for GIS PD are complex and inefficient. To improve recognition accuracy, a novel GIS PD pattern recognition method based on a light-scale convolutional neural network (LCNN) without artificial feature engineering is proposed. Firstly, GIS PD data are obtained through experiments and finite-difference time-domain simulations. Secondly, data enhancement is reinforced by a conditional variation auto-encoder. Thirdly, the LCNN structure is applied for GIS PD pattern recognition while the deconvolution neural network is used for model visualization. The recognition accuracy of the LCNN was 98.13%. Compared with traditional machine learning and other deep convolutional neural networks, the proposed method can effectively improve recognition accuracy and shorten calculation time, thus making it much more suitable for the ubiquitous-power Internet of Things and big data.

Abstract:
Nowadays we can clearly see the activeness of the methodological and technological aspects of the new geoinformation direction in the field of cartography. The development of modern mapping methods is closely related to the development of geoinformation systems and technologies. The importance of geoinformation cartography and geoinformation systems is significant in creating databases and digital maps based on GIS software instead of analog methods for creating maps. There are the most important tasks such as improvement of modern method in obtaining cartographic information, and development of ways to quickly transmit and distribute cartographic information about nature and society. The application of GIS technologies in the field of demographic cartography will lead to drastic changes in the scope of work, as well as improve product design and increase the accuracy as a result of the performed tasks. The study shows that there is a need to develop a new method for mapping a new generation based on GIS technology, reflecting demographic processes. This article will focus on creating a database for development of maps based on GIS technologies, rapid identification, monitoring spatial changes using data from aerospace and other sources, and development of demographic digital mapping methods based on GIS technologies. Mapping demographic processes based on GIS technologies aims at implementing a number of practical tasks and research related to population. Based on this, a systematic method has been developed to analyse the demographic situation in the southern region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a digital demographic map has been created by applying the developed method.

Abstract:
When disconnecting switches were operated,Very Fast Transient Overvoltage (VFTO) did great harm to power systems and their equipments in Gas Insulated Substations (GIS). Although VFTO can be suppressed by a few of known methods, there were some problems. Low voltage simulation tests show that putting ferrite rings around a disconnecting generatrix can damp traveling wave propagation and suppress VFTO in GIS. This method is economic and practical. We had analyzed ferrite characteristics of suppressing VFTO and got hold of ways of calculating ferrite size in GIS. Investigation shows that ferrite characteristics and sizes have a great effect on suppressing VFTO.

Abstract:
Knowing the GIS expression of geological phenomena is an important basis for the combination of geology and GIS. Regional geological structures include folds, faults, strata, rocks, and other typical geological phenomena and are the focus of geological GIS research. However, existing research on the GIS expression of regional geological structure focuses on the expression of the spatial and attribute characteristics of geological structures, and our knowledge of the expression of the semantic, relationship, and evolution processes of geological structures is not comprehensive. In this paper, a regional geological structure scene expression model with the semantic terms positional accuracy, geometric shape, relationship type, attribute type, and time-type attributes and operations is proposed. A regional geological structure scenario markup language (RGSSML) and a method for mapping it with graphics are designed to store and graphically express regional geological structure information. According to the geological time scale, a temporal reference coordinate system is defined to dynamically express the evolution of regional geological structures. Based on the dynamic division of the time dimension of regional geological structures, the expression method of “time dimension + space structure” for the regional geological structure evolution process is designed based on the temporal model. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the regional geological structure scene expression method proposed in this paper is verified using the Ningzhen Mountain (Nanjing section) as an example. The research results show that the regional geological structure scene expression method designed in this paper has the following characteristics: (1) It can comprehensively express the spatial characteristics, attribute characteristics, semantics, relationships, and evolution processes of regional geological structures; (2) it can be used to realize formalized expression and unified storage of regional geological information; and (3) it can be used to realize dynamic expression of the regional geological structure evolution process. Moreover, it has significant advantages for the expression of regional geological structure semantics, relationships, and evolution processes. This study improves our knowledge of the GIS expression of regional geological structures and is expected to further promote the combination and development of geology and GIS.

Abstract:
Methods for the generation of indoor geographic information system (GIS) models based on building information modelling (BIM) models can promote the analysis and application of indoor GIS, avoiding the complexity of traditional indoor space collection. The indoor adjacency relations (i.e., the attribute of IndoorGML) play a vital role in the adjacent query and analysis in indoor GIS applications (i.e., obtaining the neighbors or affected spaces of a cellular space in a building). However, current methods ignore the important feature, which considerably limits the spatial analysis ability of indoor GIS. Therefore, we developed a method for the generation of indoor GIS models based on BIM models to support adjacent analysis of indoor spaces. The method first devised an indoor GIS model (IGSM) by integrating spatial features (mainly adjacency relations) and the BIM model. Then, we proposed rapid modeling algorithms to mainly establish indoor adjacency relations based on the IGSM. Moreover, in the potential application of indoor GIS (e.g., indoor emergency response), we proposed a K-adjacent analysis algorithm to improve the application ability of the adjacent analysis of indoor GIS. Finally, experimental results suggest its validity and efficiency, which has substantial practical significance for the subsequent analysis and application of 3D GIS.

Abstract:
This paper proposes a comprehensive procedure to assess the condition of gas insulated switchgear (GIS) equipment by using the conventional weight and score method and introducing a conditional factor to improve the accuracy of the health index evaluation. Generally, the inspection and testing of GIS components are conducted according to manufacturer recommendations and guidelines in the international standards. However, this raw data has not been simplified and systematically processed for condition assessment. The score and weight technique are applied to transform the physical condition according to visible and measurable aging to numerical values in terms of component and bay health index values. The accuracy of the obtained health index has been improved by a conditional factor, which considers invisible aging factors, such as age, number of switching operations, degree of satisfactory operation, obsolescence, and adequacy of the interrupting rating. Here, a condition evaluation procedure has been developed and compared with the fuzzy logic method and the health index dominant score technique with satisfactory results. Subsequently, the proposed procedure has been developed as web application software to evaluate 175 bays of GIS in both 115 and 230 kV networks of an independent power producer supplying electricity of 3094 MW to a large industrial estate in Thailand. Eight GIS bays showed moderate or poor condition and the proper actions were assigned to prevent their failure. The software is in use in practice as a decision support tool to effectively manage the maintenance tasks and to improve supply reliability.

Abstract:
GIS is currently widely used in the power system and is the Developing Trends of Electrical appliances manufacturing. At present, a lot of research on GIS PD, but the study of the recognition of the PD severity is less. By analyzing a large number of partial discharge sample data, a new GIS PD severity diagnostic method is proposed in this paper. Partial discharge is divided into three stages (initial stage, development stage and dangerous stage) in the method according to the severity of the partial discharge. These three stages are fitted with non-linear mapping and get the fitting parameters. GIS partial discharge fault reference database can be dynamically generated with these fitting parameters. The similarity between the detected data and the reference data is discriminated with the least square method and Supplier division method, and then the GIS PD severity can be diagnosed. A large number of simulation results initially confirmed the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method.

AbstractTo improve the sensitive and reliability of condition monitoring in gas insulated switchgear (GIS), discharge perception system applied to GIS insulators protrusion discharge based on single ultraviolet photon is built. Step method is used to inspire the discharges of different severity, based on which, the regression relationship of ultraviolet (UV) signal and electrical signal are studied, and the perception mechanism of UV signal in different severity of discharges is analyzed. The study indicates that, the development of protrusion discharge in GIS can be divided into four stages, and there is no positive correlation between the number of ultraviolet photons caused by discharge radiation and insulation deterioration level, but related to the diffusion, migration and recombination of charged particles, then UV optical method for quantitative monitoring of discharge in each stage is provided, which provide a new method for quantitative measurement of GIS insulator discharge.

Abstract:
In the present paper, the electromagnetic coupled heat transfer and ultrasonic propagation in a 252 kV three-phase GIS busbar chamber were numerically studied by using the finite element method. The electromagnetic loss and distributions of SF6 gas velocity, temperature, and breakdown margin in the GIS busbar chamber were carefully analyzed, and the influences of SF6 gas velocity and temperature variations on ultrasonic propagation performances in the GIS chamber were discussed in detail. It is found that the SF6 gas breakdown margin in the GIS busbar chamber is mainly affected by the electric field intensity. When I = 3300 A and U = 1050 kV, the minimum SF6 gas breakdown margin in the GIS busbar chamber is 7.98 kV/mm, which is located at top of busbar conductor A, where the thermal breakdown risk is relatively high. Furthermore, it is noted that, when natural convection in GIS busbar chamber is weak, the influences of SF6 gas velocity and temperature variations on sound propagation would be insignificant. For this case, when acoustic propagation simulation is performed, the SF6 gas would be assumed to be stationary and its temperature would be set to the average gas temperature of natural convection in the GIS chamber, which would be beneficial to reduce the computational time and maintain the simulation accuracy as well.
