Full textThe research that we carry out examines the organization of incremental and radical innovations, both intra- and inter-enterprise, in the light of organizational ambidextry works (Tushman and O’Reilly, 1996, 1999; O’Reilly and Tushman, 2004; Birkinshaw and Gibson, 2004).Taking the case of logistics service provision, an industry concerned by the extensive innovation dilemma (Le Masson, Weil and Hatchuel, 2006), our research aims to study the organizational modalities implemented to innovate, but also to identify and understand the explanatory factors of the recourse to organizational ambidextry forms. Moreover, to our knowledge, no study has been performed on organizational ambidextry in the service industry. It is therefore, also about the identification of the specificities bound to the organization of innovation on service companies. To successfully achieve our research, case studies were performed with 8 Logistics Service Providers (LSP) companies. 49 interviews were carried out with the actors participating in the innovation process in each company. Secondary data (internal documentation, professional press, etc.) was also collected. The results enlighten the organizational modalities implemented to innovate in service companies and within interconnected companies for both researchers and practitioners. Our study also identifies the explanatory factors of the recourse to, and the combination of, organizational ambidextry forms. These factors are bound to the company’s characteristics as well as the characteristics of the innovation, but also to the inter-organizational relationship between the provider and its costumer

Full textIn the current context of rapid urbanization and increased digitization, contemporary cities are facing the urgent need to adapt to various major transformations. The adoption of Smart Cities (SC) strategies emerges as an indispensable response to these challenges. In this context, participatory governance is one of the strategic options favored by many cities to facilitate their transformation into SCs and is now at the heart of political discourse and numerous multidisciplinary research efforts. However, despite the abundance of literature on this subject, the complexity inherent in managing the organizational forms characteristic of participatory governance remains an underexplored area. This complexity is even more pronounced in the construction sector in France, which involves a heterogeneous group of private and public actors with different cultures and skills. Our doctoral research is positioned within this perspective, aiming to characterize, particularly from an info-communicational viewpoint, the practical implementation of participatory governance in the construction of today's intelligent buildings. More specifically, our research focuses on the interaction between public and private actors involved in this sector. Thus, the problem structuring this work allows us to understand the management of organizational forms during the construction phases of so-called intelligent buildings. Regarding our epistemological stance, it is based on an interpretivist posture combined with an abductive approach, typically marked by back-and-forth movements between theory and the field. Theoretically, we have undertaken a comprehensive literature review on our two key concepts: participatory governance and SCs. Two resources have been identified as essential for establishing effective participatory governance, namely human capital and digital technologies, which can themselves be studied through two specific dimensions: relational and informational. The relational dimension relies on the ability of human capital to establish constructive relationships. The informational dimension, on the other hand, is translated by the use of technological tools that must facilitate communication and the exchange of information. Recent research has highlighted an essential aspect of a city's intelligence, namely the ability of its human capital to prioritize the use of digital technologies (and innovations). However, it is important to note that these innovations can have multiple impacts, which influence their social acceptability. In this light, a crucial conclusion emerged from our research: the informational and relational dimensions are essential and interdependent for establishing effective participatory governance. In this regard, our study identifies three distinct contexts for qualifying participatory governance in the building sector. Firstly, a highly favorable context, characterized by particular attention to both informational and relational dimensions. Secondly, a moderately favorable context, where significant emphasis is placed on one of these dimensions. Lastly, a weakly favorable context where neither dimension is fully considered.Following these findings, we implemented data collection through semi-structured interviews with various actors involved in the realization of major urban projects in a governance participatory framework. This was complemented by an illustration on another French site related to the AMI Ville durable 2030 initiative in Nice. The goal of our empirical approach was to analyze the reality of participatory governance during all phases of urban project construction. In conclusion, our empirical results are grounded in explanations derived from three theories: stakeholder theory, resource theory, and the diffusion of innovations. They thus highlight the challenges and discrepancies that persist in the field of "intelligent" urban development in France

Full textThe general idea is to show that franchising, in a broad sense, was the organizational innovation which allowed big groups of hotel and restauration business to form and to become the most successful at the international level. The traditional theory of internalization, based on the economy of transaction costs, applied to services and more particularly hotel and restaurant business contains two fundamental defects: on one hand the dichotomous point of view between market and hierarchy and on the other hand the absence of strategic aspect. To exceed the first defect, we shall develop the idea that there is an organizational hybrid model of cooperation which allowed pioneers firms to duplicate their standard of service quickly and to give birth to integrated chains. To exceed the second defect, the strategic aspect is introduced by means of game theory. The competitive advantage created by the use of these hybrid new structures in the sector of the hotel and restaurant business appears clearly. The capital research, the risk sharing, the sharing of entrepreneurial rent allow us to put in evidence the influence of the interaction between franchisor and franchisee and especially the difficulty to insure a legal innovation protection in the service sector. The employees or the partners as transaction agents also adopt strategic behaviour

Full textSupply chain management literature is linked with strong relationship modifications amongst supply chain organizations. Multimodal logistic platforms are considered as local and inter-organizational activities playing the role of interface between stakeholders. Within strategy and supply chain management literature, multimodal logistic platforms appear like unavoidable nodes for territories and organizations competitiveness. From that perspective, we attempt to understand the reality of the articulation between organizational architecture of a multimodal logistic platform and its ex-ante competitiveness. In order to apprehend this reality, our work is based on an exploratory qualitative process. The study uses an illustrative case methodology. The empirical perimeter is composed by stakeholder organizations contributing to the competitiveness of Marseille harbor. Full textThe aim of the thesis is to give an economic framework for the new coordination mechanisms in the health care field. More specifically, we study the inter-organizations relations between health care providers : emergence conditions, and coordination mechanisms linked. The case study of one french hospital presented in an introductory chapter provides some stylized facts of competition and institutional context changes. Our first chapter is resuming the recent economic contributions to the theory of the firm, particularly the transaction costs economics and the evolutionist perspective. The aim of the second chapter is to give a review of the theoretical representations of the hospital. We present the traditional hospitals economic models (production function, managerial and behaviorist theories, agency theory). We then elaborate an hospital representation which takes into account uncertainty of decision process, irreversibility of decisions and asymetric situations between hospitals. The third chapter is presenting theoric perspectives of the cooperation process with two questions : why to cooperate ? i. E. The analysis of the determinant factors of the choice of cooperation and how to cooperate ? i. E. The analysis of the mechanisms and conditions required for the emergence and stability of the cooperation process. We confront in the last chapter, the cooperation representation of the latter chapter to the observations of our empirical data in the hospital system. We analyze the cooperation process between health care providers, from the governmental point of view (it incites to cooperate) and from the hospitals point of view (they choose the cooperation)

Full textThe aim of the thesis is to show what are the means and strategic and organizational processes the firms of the sectors highly intense in new IT and innovation use to cope with to asset specificity and to the dynamics of the globalisation of the economy. The New Institutional Economics (NIE) leads our work thanks to the conception of the firm used which is based essentially on a contractualist approach which uses the works of the transaction cost economics and of theory of the incomplete contracts; however other approaches of the firms are evocated in order to enrich the academical view of our thesis. Moreover, the notion of strategic alliance is very important for our work, and it allows us to operate an articulation between the concepts of Organization and the Market for put in the light some firm’s dynamics in a market economy. Furthermore, the thesis concerns the strategic alliances under two other following perspectives: the first one is the multinationalization of the innovative firms, and the second one concerns the organizational response that establish the strategic alliances to cope with the specificities of the innovative sectors. The game theory and the concept of Nash equilibrium can help us to model ou describe the dynamic of the firms belonging the sector of telecommunications. The dynamic of other innovative sectors is studied through the notion of strategic alliance. The influence of the decisions and the public policies concerning the telecommunication regulation and the impulse of the innovation is evocated too. The influence of public policies can be seen particularly concerning the competition when the public regulator allows in the innovative sectors the competing firms to cooperate in upstream (for example research and development joined). Some research and developments models are presented in the thesis. It is important to note that the thesis has empirical data highlighting the weight of the sectors highly intense in research and development and so showing the weight of the innovation in the economy. The geographical field covers by these data is international The thesis thanks to the notion of strategic alliance enables to retail the organizational processes and the behavioral strategies (models of game) strengthening the innovation, enabling to cope with to a strong asset specificity and explaining the firms’ responses in a globalized economy. We finish in providing the organizational forms the most adapted for cope with to the strong specificity of the sector of telecommunications. There are the firm (post-merger) and the relational joint venture concerning this latter we demonstrate that the presence of relational contracts enables to reduce the will to renege and is a protection against the contractual opportunism

Full textThis work is about the evolution of the worker's participation in the decision making and its impacts on the organizational performances of the Centre Hospitalier universitaire de Québec. First, after having defined the concept of worker's participation with the help of the industrial democracy, we built a tool to mesure it. Second, after an extensive review of the litterature about the organizational performances, we set up our own model. To examine the relationships between these two concepts, we conducted a longitudinal study covering the second half of the 90's. Our results show that if the HRM litterature assumes frequently that the new models can be applied uniformly to all employees in the same organization, in reality it is slighty different and demonstrate that without an enlarged scope, the long term performances will never be achieved

However, organizational change research is more preoccupied with refining the implementation strategies for radical change, rather than seeking solutions to accelerate the process. This issue is addresses by the present research, whose aim is to answer the following question : what factors and processes accelerate radical organizational change ? Based on an exploratory research design of comparative, longitudinal and retrospective studies, this thesis unveils 10 main principles of acceleration. The explanatory theories developed there of highlight the roles of crisis perceptions and trust, commitment and conformity, activity planning and political management in the elaboration of effective acceleration techniques

Full textThis thesis deals with organizational learning, and more specifically with learning organizations. I mobilize the concept of organizational identity and focuses on a specific mode of organizing: intra-organizational communities of practice. First, I develop a model conceptualizing organizational identity as a system composed of five interacting facets. Second, I articulate a renewed definition of communities of practice as collective answers to prescription failures. A quantitative study of four communities of practice allows the establishment of a link between membership into a community and individuals' preference for certain sources of knowledge. This result confirms that communities of practice are more than a mere linguistic formula and are a distinct psycho-sociological reality. In a third phase, a comparative study is used to reveal the factors which contribute to this specific form of social network that can be defined as an “organizational mousse”

Full textHealth networks are increasingly influential in French health and social context. These networks have been expanding for about 20 years and appear today as an “obvious” organizational solution to meet the inadequacies of the French health system, which can be viewed as too segmented to deal with certain complex diseases. Today, this widespread form of organization of treatments is subject to significant confusion due to its large diversity and its low visibility. Therefore, in order to expand on the subject, an ideal standard of health network has been developed based on an empirical analysis. This ideal standard served as a guide in our research and revealed a significant distortion between health agents’ ideal representation and the reality of existing health networks. The research was therefore expanded by aiming to firstly explain this distortion and secondly reduce it. A literature review on strategy, organization and public management stressed on the paradoxical characteristic of health networks and correlatively on the necessity to implement a paradoxical strategy so as to deal with managerial tensions inherent in health networks. The methods for this type management however still had to be developed. Thus, we carried out a comparative study of five health networks examples. Cross-section analysis of cases enabled us to increase our understanding of health networks and to propose a paradoxical management model in light of action knowledge asserted by the agents

Full textThe goal of this research consists in assessing the existence and nature of the links between individual and organisational competencies. The literature shows the emerging conditions and the characteristics of the concept of individual competencies management in human resources management and the concept of organisational competencies in relation to "the resource-based view theory". A choice of variables related to the uses of competencies management and a body of hypotheses are given. The empirical part confronts the question of research with business practices. It is based on a quantitative analysis, supplemented by a qualitative analysis. The statistical study clarifies the relation between individual and organisational levels of competence. This also gives rise to the development of a classification of the organisations engaged in the process of competency management. The qualitative study, elaborated through a content analysis, specifies the classifications discovered and allows us to propose an experimental model "the competency pyramid", which encompasses this concept in its entirety. The principal results suggest that the extent to which organisational competencies is used is even higher when individual competencies are taken into consideration in an annual evaluation which is a criterion of salary. Furthermore, it seems that the extent to which organisational competencies are employed depends on the number of years that individual competencies management have been practised
Vuattoux, Jean-Christophe. "Le contrôle des risques psychosociaux : réponses organisationnelles dans un nouveau champ institutionnel." Thesis, Université de Lorraine, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016LORR0174/document.
Full textToday, psychosocial risks at work (PSR) are major challenges for organizations, both for the employee’s psychosocial health and for the company’s economic health. But current risk management and occupational health and safety devices are inadequate for this new class of risk. That explains the difficulty organizations have with taking them into account. PSR remains quite invisible for managers because the usual risk assessment focuses on the individual and does not call the organization into question. This doctoral dissertation offers several reflections and management control projects that lead to modelling a tool for managing RPS. This tool integrates their organizational aspects and incorporates the many expectations of organizations and their environments. Based on neo-institutional theories, we propose a new reading of the institutionalization process in an organizational field undergoing structuration. This view is proven to work in light of new health care expectations organizations have and the responses they may deliver. Management tools play multiple yet decisive roles in defining the institutional process. This thesis aims to contribute to the future of RPS management, which might help shape a prevention policy based prior to when the effects on workers’ health appear

Full textThe contemporary organizations seem to be living a major change with the advent of the “information society”» (also called “communication society” or, more recently, “knowledge society”). Indeed, this new technical, social and economical regime promises a different society, less hierarchic and controversial, more egalitarian and democratic, widely tinted with self-government utopia – even though this utopia is renowned as outdated. Meanwhile this ongoing revolution announced for more than thirty years, new managerial speeches are appearing that likewise draw inspiration from self-government rhetoric, witch critical function is, paradoxically, helping to regenerate the “mind of capitalism”. This study aims at going further than those speeches in order to analyze the concrete practices of these new organizational forms of the information society, by comparing them with self-governed firm considered as alternative. Using a communicational and complex approach of organizations, the goal is to understand the organizational changes conveyed by these two types of firms and to identify their similarities. In a critical perspective, both sociological and epistemological, this study successively put to the test the innovative potential of these so-called “new” organizational forms and the subversive potential of the self-governed firms. This confrontation aims at throwing light on forms and modalities used by power and critic in a society considered as democratic and pacified

Full textIn this work, we propose to investigate management practices using a foucauldian perspective. To do so, we mobilize the integrative concept of ‘moral’ proposed by Foucault in order to question the discipline and the asceticism that are prescribed to organizational actors, i. E. What we call the prescribed organizational moral, as well as the individual morality of behaviors understood as the discipline and asceticism that organizational actors conduct in practice. The research question of this work can be formulated as follow: “How do organizational morals work?”. We aim to contribute to current foucauldian studies in several ways: First, the concept of ‘moral’ is particularly helpful to understand the complementary between the discipline and the asceticism prescribed to organizational actors. Second, while prescribed asceticisms have already been investigated in details, the asceticisms that organizational actors conduct in practice still need to be explored. Third, and relatedly, our work aims to better understand individuals’ reactions to management practices by considering that the ‘responses’ they produce within the organization context tighly depend on the ways organizational actors ‘see themselves’ and ‘ work on themselves’ in practice

Full textInnovation processes are uncertain: they can be source of tension, as they gather a significant part of a company's risk. Literature does not reach consensus, recommending how to manage innovation via controlling tools. For some authors, it is mandatory to use tools to manage the innovation process whereas others claim: controlling tools are an innovation killer. In this work, we study the interdependencies between management control and creativity and the question of the roles of the organizational context. If controlling tools are not totally suitable, they are widely used and praised by companies to manage their innovation processes. These processes can be compared to an iceberg where controlling tools depict the emerging part. We conducted a quantitative and a qualitative studies in innovative companies and in the social and solidarity economy. The comparison of these two contexts leads us to highlight the essential role of the organization which can generate creativity, the acceptance of an imbalance between the elements in tension which can be a source of questioning and a support to the innovation as well as the role of local managers as mediator between the organization and the field actors

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to contribute to a better understanding of the communication processes through which management tools structure organisations. What meanings are produced and reproduced during the circulation of accounting and management documents in businesses ? The field work addressed the budgetary process of building sites in two subsidiaries of a business in the building sector. The first part studies the regulations that structure the processes of producing budgetary information. These processes are constituted by a set of activities which contribute to the development of a provisional budget document for a site and which periodically analyse the differences between the forecasts and the outcomes. These regulations give rise to an organizational invention, a production of texts in and on the procedure. The notion of fabrique du budget emphasizes the fact that a budget appears in the form of hybrid documents which are multiply addressed and multiply backed up. This budget undergoes many transformations during its development and finalization by various actors. The second part studies how this textual system structures face-to-face interactions. The observations was carried out during monthly meetings dedicated to the budget in order to check the outcomes, measure shortfalls and decide corrective actions. It analyses the production of an interpretation at least partially shared between the operational and the management frameworks different in their terminologies, their aims and their justifications. The notion of actes de calcul enables understanding of how the language of numbers exerts a practical effect which intervenes during the dynamic interplay between communication processes and the production of documents. There are processes of interaction and positioning with respect to the rules for producing accounts, whose analysis brings out important characteristics of contemporary management. The budget is a method of decision and control, but it is also the result of an informational process that follows its own norms, such as the norms of the aesthetic of accounts and the display of managerial competence

Full textThe aim of this thesis is to analyse - through the study of the representations and decision-making behaviour of the legal auditor - the legal audit process in an SME-context where the information system is based on an ERP. Therefore, we intend to determine whether the presence of an integrated information system within the audited SME is likely to alter the legal audit process. In the framework of an interpretative and qualitative approach, investigations were carried out among legal auditors working in an SME/ERP environment. These surveys have allowed us to formulate two major results. The first result reveals that ERPs are trustworthy systems to some respondents, but they also arouse mistrust in others. However, on the whole, the sentiment of mistrust prevails. The second result of this research indicates that varied and unsettled changes exist in each auditors'work methods, which partly challenges the theory of individual decision-making adaptability. More generally speaking, observations tend to show that ERP technology doesn't call into question the purpose and the fondations of the auditor's approach

Full textIn evolutionary's theory, the firm appropriation of technology needs the aquisition of specific and tacit knowledge which is developped during learning process. Furthermore, knowledge is embedded in routines which constitute firm's organizational memory and guide the development of firm's activities and particularly innovation. In this way, changes and improvements of products and processes in firms depend on routines replacement, i. E. On organizational learning process. At the opposite of evolutionary's theory, we consider that the renewal of routines is realised progressively during firm's activities instead of being a previous adaptation for a new technological learning path. The techno - organizational learning concept provides a theoretical background to explain the concomitant construction of technological capabilities and organizational competences into the firm. So, the routines' modification during the unlearning - learning process constitutes a potential source of innovation. This innovation (the problem - solving) can be organizational if it concerns the organizational's component of technology (management's practices, work's organization) ; but it can be technical if it leads to a change of the product conception or to an improvement of process

Full textFor two decades, the inequalities have dramatically increased in most oecd countries, especially the u. S. The emergence of lean production in american manufacturing for the past fifteen years provides a new way of interpreting this phenomenon. Lean production is based on an intensification of work and is accompanied by an increase of occupational injuries and illnesses. Therefore, detailed occupational health statistics for manufacturing industries enable us to compute a proxy of reorganization : "i-reorganization". I-reorganization is not dependent on computerization, develops in high-wage sectors and may be the result of deunionization or the generalized implementation of fordism. It improves productivity dramatically. Labor decreases in the i-reorganized industries but i-reorganization is not skilled-employment biased. Computerization seems to be efficient only in i-reorganized industries. Gains sharing among production workers, non-production workers, profits and consumers is unbalanced and increases inequalities. Services have a similar experience. Moreover, the impact of internationalization is not bound to the comparative advantage mechanisms. Openness results in new markets for the exporting and innovator sector. Thus, it stimulates growth and favors skilled workers working in r&d, thereby increasing inequalities. A minimum wage may prevent such a rise of inequalities and enhance growth, but reduce manufacturing employment; nevertheless, if the gains from the innovator sector are large, the increase of personal services may compensate for these job losses

Full textA key issue for Cloud Computing data-centers is to maximize their profits by minimizing power consumption and SLA violations of hosted applications. In this thesis, we propose an autonomic resource management framework combining a utilitybased dynamic Virtual Machine (VM) provisioning manager and a dynamic VM placement manager. Both problems are modelled as constraint satisfaction problems. The VM provisioning process aims at maximizing a global utility capturing both the performance of the hosted applications with regard to their SLA and the energy-related operational cost of the cloud computing infrastructure. We propose a component-based architecture with a separation between the decision and ressources layers. We show several experiments how our system can be controlled through high level handles to make different trade-off between application performance and energy consumption or to arbitrate resource allocations in case of contention

Full textTo cope with a turbulent environment, organizations tend to decentralize responsability to operationnal managers, and adapte structures to be more reactive. Management control has then to develop systems allowing a better coordination. That aims both efficient and effective control of resources and strategic relevance. Missions of management accounting function are extended to a richer contribution to operational and strategic decisions. The role of ERP (enterprise resources planning) is studied more specifically. The theoretical background is an adaptation of the structuration theory. The study is founded on a qualitative analysis of enterprises cases. The thesis put on light : actors'logic, technologies'duality and processual dimension of change. Configurations of technology use/management accounting structure are identified : centralized ones, with ERP serving central decision and control; decentralized ones, with ERP serving operationnal management and emergent strategy

Full textThis study aims to research the impact of family involvement in ownership, management and board of directors, on financial performance in family owned firms. The numerous previous studies have shown diverse and heterogeneous results, in the case of non-listed firms, particularly when gender diversity is observed in the board of directors. Women in boards are usually linked to effective management techniques, thus increasing financial performance. The existence of advantages and inconvenience of family participation in ownership and management have raised non-linear effects of these two variables on performance. With a sample of 97 private family firms in Lebanon, we performed a regression analysis. The findings showed a negative quadratic correlation between the involvement of the family in the management and performance whereas no relation linked family involvement in ownership to performance. According to the former literature on family firms, there is a positive relationship associated with the presence of family managers. The findings of this study showed that this correlation was not significantly sufficient to compensate for the drawbacks created from a goal orientation not related to money. The same goes for the cost generated by the urge to resolve differences between family managers and the impossibility of enlarging the organization’s social and intellectual capital by hiring non family managers

The results show that the organizational dimensions constitute the principal factors influencing the effectiveness and productivity of research teams in various contexts examined. On the contrary, such dimensions as competence (measured by the number of years of education and experiences) do not play significant role in determining the effectiveness of research teams

Full textThis dissertation is composed of four chapters and addresses an empirical regularity about which very little is known: “plural forms”. In the first chapter, I intend to verify what has been theorized about plural forms and how this field has evolved over time. I identified two variables that underlie most of the theoretical explanations for the existence and stability of plural forms: asset specificity and uncertainty. However, these variables are very seldom explored, which points towards the need for novel contributions. In the second chapter, I am concerned with explaining the variety of plural form manifestations. I built a theoretical model integrating asset specificity and uncertainty to predict plural and non-plural forms. Next, I stressed that plural forms are heterogeneous and built hypotheses relating different types of uncertainty to different types of plural forms. In the next two chapters, I empirically confront my theoretical model and hypotheses with qualitative data. In the third chapter, I confront my model by performing an embedded clinical case study on the Korin company (in Brazil), which produces and commercializes multiple organic products; while in the final chapter, I intend to empirically confront both my theoretical model and my hypotheses and survey the procurement of inputs by 24 companies operating in the Brazilian Agribusiness sector. I find support for my model and for my hypotheses on both of these papers, indicating a path for further analyses

Full textIn this thesis we are interested in the following question: does the CSR management impact significantly the instrumental and organizational characteristics of the management accountant function? Firstly, we propose a theoretical analysis of the question by using a fonctionnalist and contingency approach of the management accountant. With reference to the "dissociated/integrated" modalities of CSR management (Capron & Quairel 2006), we suggest that in the dissociated way, there is no significant impact of CSR management on the management accountant characteristics. In the integrated way of CSR management, we suggest that there is a significant impact. Secondly, we realize a qualitative study based on interviews and documents analysis in five organizational contexts in order to evaluate our theoretical analysis and formulate some testable hypothesis. This study shows that in these organizations, CSR management is systematically dissociated and management accountants are maintained in their traditional economic missions. Based on these results, we stated twelve hypotheses that express the significant impact of CSR management on the management accountant function characteristics. Thirdly, we collect some data with a survey (92 management accountants respondants) to test these hypotheses. Based on this data, we have rejected the twelve previously stated hypotheses. Finally, in regard of these results, we defend the thesis that: due to its dissociated nature, CSR management does not impact significantly the instrumental and organizational characteristics of the management accountant function

Full textThe basis question of this thesis is : why and how investments in manufacturing technologies considered as vital for competitiveness and long term profitability of the firms can be also judged not profitable faced to financial criteria of the traditional theory of investment ? The study of advanced manufacturing technologies allows us to bring to light a strategic benefits, called tangible and intangible benefits that financial criteria can't take into account. The aim of this work is to understand the origin and the nature of this benefits, and to see how we can integrated them into the decision to invest. For that, we suggest a new and global method to assess all the strategic effects of the flexible technologies. Tree stages constitute this method. The first stage concern the definition of the objectives of performance assigned to technological investment. The second and the third stage correspond to the actual method, and define respectively an operational and strategic module, and a financial module. The first module contains all the physical criteria and parameters that can determine if the objectives of performance are realised or not ex ante. The second module translates into financlal informations this physical criteria and parameters of the operational and strategic module. The interest of this distinction is to show the importance of tangible and intangible benefits in the decision process, even if they don't appear clearly in the financial module

Full textThe organizational interface remains a little studied object. The research suggests investigating it and understanding the dynamics. The first part clarifies the foundations of the research. Having defined the interface, il creates that the instability of the interfaces results from imbalance in the processes of integration-differentiation. To measure these phenomena, the methodology appeals to two methods: the elaboration and the analysis of a base of verbatim, and a research-intervention.The second part is dedicated to the determiners of the object. She specifies the properties and the activities of the interface, and proposes a modelling. A crossed analysis of 14 interfaces is then explained; three determiners of the regulation in the interface are identified: the degree of uncertainty, the frequency of the interactions and the distribution of the power. On these bases, a typology of the interfaces is proposed: strategic, political, of coordination, and social. The third part deepens the research by the in vivo observation and the transformation of the interfaces. It brings to light their costs of functioning, the fundamental role of their finalization, and shows that the processes of integration and differentiation ask the question of their quality, besides that of their intensity. The hypothesis according to which the piloting of the organizational interfaces improves the équilibration of the integration-differentiation is discussed then experimented. From the first results of experiment, the research identifies levers of piloting of the interfaces and formula of the managerial implications

Full textCross-organizational service-based processes are increasingly adopted by different companies when they can not achieve goals on their own. The dynamic nature of these processes poses various challenges to their successful execution. In order to guarantee that all involved partners are informed about errors that may happen in the collaboration, it is necessary to monitor the execution process by continuously observing and checking message exchanges during runtime. This allows a global process tracking and evaluation of process metrics. Complex event processing can address this concern by analyzing and evaluating message exchange events, to the aim of checking if the actual behavior of the interacting entities effectively adheres to the modeled business constraints. In this thesis, we present an approach for decentralized monitoring of cross-organizational choreographies. We define a hierarchical propagation model for exchanging external notifications between the collaborating parties. We also propose a runtime event-based approach to deal with the problem of monitoring conformance of interaction sequences. Our approach allows for an automatic and optimized generation of rules. After parsing the choreography graph into a hierarchy of canonical blocks, tagging each event by its block ascendancy, an optimized set of monitoring queries is generated. We evaluate the concepts based on a scenario showing how much the number of queries can be significantly reduced

Full textSales force is a human and complex human relations system that is characterized by a specific management activity based on the control and the direct supervision of the sales agents in their daily activities. In order to decrypt these relations between the actors, we have mobilized the concept of organizational socialization, both because it proposes a further reading of the managerial reality, but also because it constitutes a model of influence able to regulate the organizational behaviors of the actors. This thesis aims at enlightening the management of the independent sales agents into labor integration process, and explaining why the turnover of the sales agents is so high during that critical stage of socialization process. The exploiting of the theoretical potential of the concept of socialization nevertheless arises the issue of the relevance of such a study, given the independent sales agents can avoid any kind of socialization, because legally they don’t belong to the company. For that we make a first survey that enables us to point out the random and natural character of the socialization in these organizations through interactions. We propose thus to conceptualize the socialization of the independent salesman, and we consider it as a construction process of the management relation. The analysis model that we develop uses the interactionnist analysis framework of the socialization through the process of building a sense, the theory of the social regulation, and the theory of psychological contract. It has been field-tested through a qualitative research study, mobilizing the method of cognitive cards. On the basis of the mental representations of the main actors of the independent sales agents ‘socialization, we wish to produce skills that take into account realities and the environments in which these sales teams work. The results of our research show clearly the complexity of the schemes studied. These reveal the difficulty of converging the actors ‘interests in their collaboration. They reveal also the existence of a partial socialization due, partly, to the fact that the companies poorly evolve in their management practices. The skills acquired by the new sales agents are based essentially on the commercial aspects of work. The relations between the sales workforces are not taken into account in the socialization process. Finally, the sales agents leave work because the components of their relations with the company do not match with their value system. In that case, we propose to manage and formalize the socialization of the independent sales agent, recommending shared management and leadership that would permit to take into account the interests of the different actors
