Full textI wish to demonstrate in this thesis that the realisation of extended enterprise, which corresponds to the emergence of intermediate systems founded on the protocols of partnership is at the same time associated with a management of cooperative information systems, notably with the aim of optimising operational flow management. The field of application is parcels delivery in france. My thesis is divided into two parts. The first part, of a theoretical nature, begins with the analysis of industrial cooperative strategies -ie networks- to show that these generate new needs concerning information exchange. The concept of a cooperative information system is put forward as a system of information adapted to carry out the communications policies of a networked organisation. The second part of my thesis takes us to the construction of a "projective model" in which is organised a body of hypotheses, followed by a methodology of investigation put into place to explore the strategies carried out in a particular industry. After having indicated, with broad brushstrokes, the general characteristics of express parcels services, i propose the description and analysis of cooperative information systems through the results of fieldwork, carried out by indepth interviews within 11 different companies. Cooperative information systems ensure the connection between two visions of of the same production process : strategic (the type of cooperation strategy) and operational (the vision of the process -ie the flow)

Full textThe development of market and the change of customer's needs demand that the enterprise must change itself in order to satisfy the market and the continuous development. Since the complexity of production system and the change process, a change methodology in necessary. This methodology should include the change methods and tools which support the change. The objective of this thesis is to develop a methodology to manage the change in the information system of production system. Our methodology, based on our organization model which is composed of eight components (strategy, technology, information technology, structure, culture, staff, system and flexibility), has five levels (change driven, diagnose, change objectives, change deployment and obtain objectives). The enterprise modeling and simulation technologies are used to support our methodology. In the end of this report, ARIS and software ARIS Toolset are used to validate an example

Full textOver the last 15 years, computer scientists have developed the +object; concepts for programming and design of systems. Recently, new approaches using these concepts have been proposed for system analysis and modelling. However, in comparison with methods used in the domain of mis, these approaches are still incomplete. We hereby propose an object-oriented method that begins with an actor-event analysis of the external environment and describes transactions using a description template to prepare a complete analysis model in objects. This approach provides a mean to generalise transactions according to the external user interface to the system. With the user's context being fairly defined, an heuristic is proposed to identify objects, describe classes in an object dictionary and set the structural model so that it gives a way to the analyst to set apart of existing details by generalizing classes and transactions as much as possible; as a counterpart, heritage control mechanisms should be looked for in the domain knowledge. This structural model is then partitioned by transactions previously described before beginning object behavior modelling. The behavior analysis is centered on the interactions between actors and objects participating in each transaction and with the purpose of representing each event while showing at the same time where the boundary of the system is. The analysis of interaction diagrams provides a mean to identify each distinct use case and illustrate how they are joined together to get the state transition diagram of each transaction. A representation of business process value chain in objects is also proposed. When the orthogonality of models is reached, the requirements specification document can be validated by users

Full textThis research aims at explaining the dynamics of IS integration processes during mergers. The goal is to understand the different IS integration modes and its dynamics realized by merged firms. Literature on mergers and acquisitions focuses primarily on technological aspects of the integration process. Ten case studies of firms having realized many Is integration processes between 1989 and 2005 are been studied by a “abductive” approach. A double approach is used. The first approach represents the necessity of using organizational configuration to define possible IS integration modes. Then, we complete our analysis with a second approach based to determine two IS integration process dynamics, i. E. A planned integration and a constructed one. In this research, we identify two results. First, IT are a minor determinant of IS integration process during mergers. For this purpose, we put forward the necessity to take into account a vision based on organizational, strategic and technological levels. So configurational approach allows to show the importance of fit between two merged firms within the IS integration process. This fit between these 3 levels makes it possible to understand IS integration process and to characterize it according to two perspectives : chosen or emergent integration mode and dynamics implementation of this mode. For the latter, we used sociocultural evolution model (Weick 1977, Burgelman 1991) so as to model the IS integration process. In the light of firm cases studied, we analyzed two dynamics : planned integration which derives from a Retention-Selection-Variation approach and constructed integration which comes from a Variation-Selection-Retention approach

Full textThis thesis is related to the study of the implementation of a General integrated Software (or an Enterprise Resources Planning System) -‘ERP’ and its direct and indirect impact on the marketing management. We illustrate that the majority of learning organizations turn more and more toward 'ERP' as they hope to gain quantitative and qualitative benefits. In this context, we have approached the implementation of these systems in the sector of distribution of fast moving consumer goods- ‘FMCG’ in the Middle East. We have conducted this study while relying on a large-scale real company which brings tangible and new considerations in relation to theoretical or practical methodological constructs. In fact, some studies could have provided interesting qualitative information on ERP implementation and marketing management. However, it is important to mention that these studies haven’t had tackled the objective of analyzing organizational changes and performance measurement (definition, measurement tools, typology, etc. ). Moreover, it was rarely measured in a diachronic manner, as we have undertaken it, because its profound dynamic character is again barely recognized, this is why our internal experience, from within, allowed us to discover. We will present it under a conceptual and operational model that will appear in the continuity of theoretical and practical research on this topic according to four axes: 1) the impact of ERP implementation and the strategic decisions in marketing, 2) the organizational changes that result of ERP implementation, 3) the assessment of performances and 4) the customer relationship management

Full textEnterprise software architects take great care of information system maintenance, which requires regular adjustments in order to stay in sync with management needs. In practice, business and application viewpoints diverge as the enterprise strategy and the legacy applications evolve. Thus, it is difficult for architects to evaluate the impact of process evolution with respect to chosen technologies. Risk of inconsistency becomes more important and damaging over time. We consider each IS viewpoint as a model; to aggregate these, we propose to map the models with an alignment definition based on meta-models. This alignment is therefore supported by model engineering tools. As existing business models and source code cannot be aligned, business models is aligned with application models. These are built by performing a reverse engineering of the code. Futhermore, analysing the alignment results enables one to measure consistency and completeness indicators. They help the architect in the process of making changes to the information system. The presented approach is illustrated with various large scale french insurance companies use cases. It reveals valuable improvement perspectives

Full textAttention has been focused in this decade on the development, implementation, and use of integrated enterprise systems known as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. This trend also continues with Data warehousing and Re-architected systems (Markus, 2000) and there are no signs of a slow down in the near future. This thesis first shows how complex are integrated enterprise systems, especially because they consist of thousands of data items, processes, tables, functions, and relationships. Then, concerning the field of medium-sized companies, the thesis asks the question of " how to integrate " in non-exclusively technological terms. Analysis is based on two theories, Markus (2000, 2001) and Thompson (1967), concerning data and information organisation. Finally, based on quantitative (143 companies) and qualitative (3 case studies) analysis, this research investigates integration practices and offers some usual approaches of medium-sized companies Management Information System (MIS) integration

Full textIn this research we focus on evaluating Customer Relationship Management systems within organisations, using banking sector as a case study. The survey of the existent literature enabled as identifying important factors that we have considered when developing our conceptual framework. This factors are namely, the resources allocated to CRM systems, the involvement of upper-level management, the degree of involvement and satisfaction of end users, the customer orientation, the technological infrastructure and the organisation’s knowledge management capacity. The objective of this thesis in twofold. First find out whether the identified factors have an impact on the performance of CRM systems. In order to evaluate this performance we have used three measures : the quality of information, the resulting benefits for customer and the benefits for firm. Second, examine the relationship between the success of CRM and the organisational performance of the firm. To test the different relationship within the developed framework, we adopted a hypothetical-deductive approach. This method is based upon hypothesis testing that allows the validation of the research model. In order to test the convergence validity and reliability of the measuring scale, we use principal components analysis. As for testing the hypothesised relationship we use multiple regression analysis. The obtained results show that the organisational aspects and of strategic positioning have a much higher impact on the success of CRM than the technological factors. We also show the impact of CRM success on the financial performance of the firm

Full textIn Virtual Enterprise and Concurrent Engineering environments, a wide variety of information is used. A crucial issue is the data communication and exchange between heterogeneous systems and distant sites. To solve this problem, the STEP project was introduced. The STandard for the Exchange of Product model data STEP is an evolving international standard for the representation and exchange of product data. The objective of STEP is to provide the unambiguous computer-interpretable representation of product data in all phases of the product’s lifecycle. In a collaborative product development different types of experts in different disciplines are concerned by the product (Design, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customers,. . . ). Each of these experts has his own viewpoint about the same product. STEP Models are unable to represent the expert’s viewpoints. The objective of our research work is to propose a methodology for representation and integration of different expert’s viewpoints in design and manufacturing phases. An Information Infrastructure for modelling, exchanging and sharing product data models is also proposed

Full textThe recent evolution of the agricultural context pushes to consider a farm as a real enterprise requiring performances and information management but also management tools adapted to their needs. Researches in Enterprise Modeling have shown the benefits of having models and methodologies to obtain a business representation of industrial enterprises operation and organisation in order to define management tools adapted to their needs. In agriculture, such methods do not exist and no industrial methods have been transposed in this sector yet. We thus propose in this thesis to evaluate the contributions of enterprise modeling to help identify farm business management needs. We define the methodological framework CEMAgriM based particularly on a structuring modeling framework, a conceptual framework adapted to agricultural production systems, and a graphical modelling language. We show the interest of this framework through an implementation on a farm and discuss research perspectives around our proposal

Full textOur research focuses on the management of information system evolution. To answer these issues, we have expanded the Information System Urbanism methodology to specify the “Information System Organisational Urbanism”. This methodology consists in three complementary steps. The cadastral urbanism formalizes the knowledge on the existing information system. It provides all the necessary models in this perspective. The prospective urbanism suggests defining the target of the information system, in coherence with the firm’s strategic orientations and the existing system. To provide a structured and flexible vision of the information system, we present an innovative formalisation of dependency between enterprise processes. The decision support system developed uses a clustering method, in order to generate interesting sets of processes. We suggest several diagnosis of the information system, based on the use of the cluster maps to improve the management of information systems transformations

Based on the acknowledged poor productivity of it investments despite the unmatched technological advances (solow's paradox), this study identifies 6 reasons for potential failure : the technological myth, the difficulty of is development, the organisational stagnation, the inadequacy of financial techniques, the behavioural attitude of the it department and the weakness of it controlling function. In addition to highlighting the inappropriateness of traditional it controlling techniques as a critical contributor to failure, this study suggests an alternative method based on both strategic analysis and activity based management techniques. This method may also be complemented with quality or cost-benefit approaches

Full textThis thesis addresses the problem of information security management within organizations. Through a series of theoretical and empirical analyses, it proposes (i) an exploratory model of the engagement of organizations in the governance of information security based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology by Venkatesh et al. (2003), (ii) a quantitative decision model for evaluation and forecasting of information security based on game theory by Von Neumann and Morgenstern (1944) in its stochastic version formalized by Shapley (1953), and (iii) a model of balanced scorecard using the original method of Kaplan and Norton (1992) for performance measurement and management of information security. Various methodological approaches have been applied to test these proposals, including a questionnaire survey (120 respondents), a brainstorming with votes (68 participants), an in-depth case study, two ex post analyses of fifteen security projects, a Metaplan session (32 participants), and a longitudinal case study. Our research results in an undeniable advance in traditional management models for information security, made possible by the use of interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological bases. In practice, the research provides the decision maker with a comprehensive framework for the management of information security, enabling him to engage the organization knowingly in the process, to evaluate its security status and establish forecasts or comparisons, to control and continuously improve the management of information security within the organization, and ultimately to contribute to the organization's overall performance and competitiveness

Full textProject management or process management leads to specific organisations for which flows of knowledge and information must be usefull for organization types : traditional one (by hierarchy : business units and functions) and transversals (by work project). These flows must have different structures, representations and interpretations. Indeed, on the same corpus, different knowledge and semantics, specific to each organisation, will cross each other. Knowledge specific to each organisation of work must be formalised regarding a corresponding knowledge engineering approach. Knowledge creation is considered as an active process of memorization and (re)activation of work processes. We propose for this purpose an applicative ontology for acquisition and capitalization of business knowledge during the bidding process. The suggested ontology structures the knowledge construction as a concurrent engineering, in conformity with the experts reasoning. The experts are supports the cognitive co-operation between them. Co-operative work stands in internal negotiations about UO engagements in the product design, regarding cost and risk objectives

Full textThis thesis work is a part of the project CAS (CIMOSA Application Server) which consists in setting up an information system (I. S. ) useful for enterprise systems and applications design. The core of this I. S. Is a common referential for a chain of enterprises. Indeed, the work thesis was focusing on designing such referential, which allows to model enterprise systems through their business processes. This must be fulfilled by respecting the common objectives of the chain. Thus, the resulting models are capitalized in a systems repository of each enterprise, where they are shared to develop business process applications. The referential offers a methodology of modeling which is integrated in a meta-model based on CIMOSA approach. The physical implementation of this meta-model was realized by "autonomous" and reusable components, which we called: "Enterprise Modeling Components" (E. M. C. ). The design of the meta-model and the components is formalized by the Unified Modeling Language (U. M. L. ) to facilitate subsequent improvements and computing development. To validate the approach, a software prototype of a framework has been developed while referring to the E. M. C. Components. The framework objectives are automating the enterprise systems modeling. The models capitalization ensured by the module S. I. R. S. (Système Interactif de Recherche de Séquences "Interactive System for Sequences Search") existent in the Laboratory. The prototype has been developed with Visual BASIC language in object-oriented programming

Full textERP software is frequently seen as reducing the scope and variety of practices. Using such type of software is often associated to the idea of implementing a set of best practices, ie a set of practices recognised to be effective. Beyond the trivial statement, is that really the case? The research that follows is carried out in the context of the implementation of an ERP project in a Business School and aims to understand the impacts of ERP projects on work practices of the individuals. First, the concept of practices is studied at the individual, collective and organisational levels. Particularly, the research includes an analysis of practices in complex organisations in which the necessity for high quality and flexibility are rooted both in high levels of expected conformity and adequacy. Based on this initial point of view and with a comprehensive perspective, the impacts of ERP projects on the variety of (operational) practices is then further studied. The research retains three axis of exploration (the reduction of the scope of variety of practices, the integration of processes and the refocusing of meanings) that enable to particularly distinguish the respective rotes and effects of the leader of the concerned organization and the ERP in itself. Shall we see the ERP project as bringing further constraints for the leader to manage his organisation or as an adequate tool to impleme a deliberate and normative policy? The research concludes with a renewed approach to best practices in the context of ERP projects

Full textNow a days, most industrial leaders must face up to a really changing economic context and to an organizational context complexity. Therefore it is more and more necessary to be able to identify the kinds of disturbances, in a global point of view taking the very strong interdependences of production functions into consideration. That is the way computer integration concept is unaffectedly born. In addition, the diversity of kinds of production systems and production management methods combined with a very wide range of computer techniques, can explain that managers have a lot of difficulties to choose and set up the suitable production computer system. To solve the problem we first intend to study the impact the choice of an integrated decision structure would have on the production s stems characters as on the manufacturing functions

Full textIn this work, we propose to look at the practices of those who are in charge of knowledge management in corporations: the knowledge managers. A knowledge manager has a responsibility towards the knowledge assets of the organization. He initiates, drives and coordinates knowledge management programs. To date, the academic literature examining the practices of knowledge managers in an organizational context is very limited in quantity and quality. But none has observed the practices or studied the conflicts created by the creation of this position inside an organization. To better understand the different roles of knowledge managers, we briefly discuss the resource-based and social perspectives on knowledge management. This split is based on the seminal work of Cook and Brown (1999) which distinguishes the “epistemology of possession” (the resource-based view) and the “epistemology of practice” (the social view). To go beyond this split and better understand the practical implications of knowledge management in corporations, we adopt an “activity system” lens. This model helps us to understand the contradictions inside the activity system of the managers. Our methodology is based on a qualitative approach built on four case studies embedded in the same context (Lafarge Group). We examine the way the practitioners interact with the social and physical features of context in the everyday activities that constitute the doing of knowledge management. Following Miles and Huberman’s (1991) suggestions, our process of data collection and analysis proceeded iteratively, with the early stages being more open-ended than the later onesOur case study analysis helps us to identify systemic contradictions that give rise to disturbances that typically indicate developmentally significant systemic contradictions and change potentials within the activity. Large numbers of repeated disturbances were encountered which resulted in costly gaps, overlaps and discoordinations of knowledge management efforts. The formalisation of practices through the KM Handbook undertaken by the Corporate Knowledge Manager proved to be a failure. An interesting outcome of our study is that normative guidelines that explicate step-by-step how knowledge management should be done can be counterproductive if it is not negotiated with stakeholders (eg. With knowledge managers; users; steering committee). The job of knowledge manager appears as really complex as he has to balance between centralization and decentralization, codification and socialization, measurement through metrics or through stories

Full textOver the last fifty years, all management methods developments in the french agriculture have been, above all, + ad hoc ;, in response to a specific management problem. Everyone adopted a sectorial approach in meeting demands. Problems were solved sequentially, each method was developed independently and thus generated a specific information system. As for example, in france, there are more than 250 farm management software products on the market. Each company has its own specific software but even within a firm, many specific products are found. The management field is now well covered, but, at the same time, none of those specific method today satisfies farmers' demands because the multiple information systems raise a lot of problems (data redundancy, data incoherence. . . ). The information system of the farm must, therefore, be better integrated to offer the farmer the necessary overall response to his problems. This is all the more necessary as the increasing complexity of the environment of the farm makes these problems more acute. One hypothesis is that such a general system improves not only the quality of information but also offers some new possibilities in farm management. The aims of this work are first, to demonstrate that it is now necessary to adopt a truly systemic approach in the conception of the farm information system, and second, to set up such a system. The methodology used to design such a model is presented. Results show that all data are connected and that it is, therefore, impossible to design the farm information system without a truly systemic approach. In conclusion, it is shown that the design of the general information system improves the quality of information but the assumption may also be made that it improves management itself

Hence, the amount invested in information systems is a critical decision for firms. As a result, they must assess the impact of investing in information systems on their performance. In particularly, they must know whether to invest in information systems that support the core competence or, on the contrary, in information systems that reinforce supporting activities. The purpose of our research is to determine whether the performance of the supporting activities is more influenced by information systems than the performance of the core competence. Hence, new definitions are proposed for the concepts of core competence and supporting activities. An overview of the literature regarding the impact of information system on the performance of the firm is presented and analyzed. A survey of the information systems variables used in the literature is realized in order to choose the most relevant variables to our research. A questionnaire was sent to collect data from private firms in the industrial and the service sectors. Our quantitative analysis shows that information systems have relatively more influence on the performance of the core competence than on the performance of supporting activities, especially on the exclusivity and value creation, components of the core competence. Results are analyzed and future research directions are proposed

Full textThe target of this survey is to define a concept which, although in increasing use in management, reveals ambiguities: the "collective competency". The matter in hand waas, in particular, to take into account actors, whitch do not necessarily, share thez same time and location unit. It was decided here to choose a qualitative research strategy (2 cases studies) to allow both testing research hypothesizes and left, if necessary, emerge non initially anticipated elements : 5 analysises on the sites followed by one comparative analysis betwen the differents sites. This study, conducted within the customers contacts centres areas, leads :- to refute the idea, firts considered, of collective competency, as a collective ability to produce a common result with a given level of collective effiency. - to a posteriori draw, a theoretical analysis network allowing to point out, on side the nature assigned of the factors on witch are based the ability of collectivities to co-ordinate their work and on the other side, the different parts played by processing data systems within co-ordination. - to introduce the idea of effiency of socio-organisational devices or arrangements to translate the aspects assigned of the ability of collectivities to coordinate working together, - and to re-define and re-position the collective effiency concepts as a generic. .

Full textThis works based thesis describes the itinerary of a professor-searcher-practitioner who has been involved since as soon as 1970 in two main fields : elaboration and support of strategic decision making in business start-up, development and reengineering on the one hand, and information systems on the other hand. A first part presents an epistemological reflection setting a parallel between : - the opposition positivism / constructivism on the one hand, - and two classes of cognitive interfaces of the firm : "describers" a paradigm of which consists of the accounting model, and "constructors" based upon interactive modellings enabling the entrepreneur-knowing-subject to simultaneously better perceiving, understanding, surrounding and transforming his firm-object, together with learning management, strategy and finance concepts. A second part presents various contributions covering : - research and development works on institutional environments and operational schemes for supporting entrepreneurs in its most general meaning (business starters, intrapreneurs, SME or profit center managers. . . ); - research and works on computer based modelling of new business financial strategy, difficulty and failure forecast, as well as on educational business simulations and computer based instruction; - conception and development of a software designed as a business "descriptor-constructor" (spreadsheet model, expert system, computer based trainer), representing an operationalization of the concepts discussed in the thesis. Keywords (alphabetic order) : budget forecast, business constructor, business describer, business diagnosis, business failure, business plan, business start-up, cognition, cognitive interface, computer based training, constructivism, entrepreneurship, epistemology, expert system, financial analysis, intrapreneurship, modelling, positivism, simulation, strategy, systemic analysis

Full textIs the future good for Small Medium Enterprises in Latin America, particularly in Mexico ? Nowadays, the expectations are good for some SEM's, but at the same time some have experienced multiple problems due to world economic change. The fragility of SME's 'especially in Mexico) is important, because these enterprises generate more than 80% of employment. Many SME's experience many internal and external problems in their local areas. This situation makes them unable to undertake prevention and planning work. For some SME's in Mexico the speed of change generates difficulties of control for coping with new challenges However, for other SME's, globilization is bringing with it the possibility of seizing control. Some SME's who are inefficient on who don't have a management control system (internal and external, qualitative and quantitative) may crack and therefore lose the source for job creation. We have introduced, the Socio-economic or "SIOFHIS" model in 5 SME's in Ycatan , Mexico "SIOFHIS" which stimulates the operational information systems and integrates human functions abilities, was developed by ISEOR in the University of Lumière Lyon 2. This model has been implemented in more than one thousand enterprises in Europe by Professor Henri Savall Ph. D and his research team. This model has now been implemented for the last year in 5 SME's (two food companies, two clothing companies and one chemical company) in Yucatan, Mexico. First Phase : (September '98 to January '99) a socio-economic diagnosis was carried out (quantitative and qualitative) called the "Mirror Effect" with good results. Second Phase : (February to September '99) the management control tools of "tableau de bord de contrôle managèrial", (socio (cultural*) economic), "tableau des competences du Capital Humain" (human resources control model) and Strategic Piloting were introduced. During this period we detected thas the "cultural and language" effects was one of the principal reasons for "hidden costs". Third Phase : The enterprises are still working in the consolidation stage of the socio-economic model in which implementing the improvements is called (wiper or weeding out) cleaning. We have to underline, that we were given the opportunity of carrying out this work, thanks to the university program entield "Enterprise/College". We also succcessfully proved the "Pygmalion Effect" with the trainees who were involved from the "Merida Institute Technologic". Under my direction these students were trained and had the opportunity to experiment with the five SME's. Today these students manage this model and have been hired by the individual enterprises. Culture : in emerging economies (in this case in Mexico's SME's) care must be taken with the differend organizational population and ethnic language/dialect effects as these have been detected as the principal sources of management problems (commmunications and understanding ) and the 'hidden costs in enterprises

Full textThe enterprises must take into account information coming from heterogeneous applications. Technological solutions make it possible to integrate these applications but these solutions suffer from a lack of modelling framework able to provide a global vision of the enterprise and of its information system (IS) which must mask the heterogeneity of the applications by proposing a unified vision of the data. This requires a modelling framework able to provide a global vision of the enterprise. To be nimble, the enterprises are based on an approach centred process. IS must be based on a modelling framework formalizing the processes and proposing a control model. Moreover, this modelling framework must guarantee coherence between perceptions of the actors of the enterprise. The ambivalence paradigm proposes to study the operational reality of the enterprise through the "business" and "data" points of view. Moreover, the number of components of a system is significant and when the development steps utilise different business, we formalize the system by its architecture. Also, the representation of the operational reality of the enterprise is obtained by the formalisation of the industrial and software architectures. IS must be based on a modelling framework able to formalize these architectures. Lastly, the ambivalence paradigm specifies that it is necessary to define correspondences between the concepts of the two points of view. We consider that these correspondences are facilitated by the use of a formal language centred architecture. IS must thus integrate these correspondences to guarantee the perceptions coherence of the various actors. The work completed within this PhD integrates the concepts of the OLYMPIOS model, which provides a modelling framework to formalize processes, in a whole of languages centred architecture resulting from the ArchWare project dedicated to the engineering of evolutionary software systems

Full textIn this research, we study the factors that influence the structure, the content and the function of marketing information systems in large companies. We found that the factors that have the most important influence on marketing information systems are : the company structure, the nature of its customers, the nature of its products and the level of internationalization of its activities. According to these factors, we present the characteristics and the model of marketing information systems in the following situations : centralized and decentralized companies, industrial and public companies, services companies, multinational companies

Full textThis doctoral research aims at laying the theoretical foundations for a convergence of heterogeneous actors who are all involved in a common mission throughout the potentialities of information systems. The general problem consists in understanding how inter organizational information system can contribute to the convergence of heterogeneous legal, procedural and institutional actors. The literature is sat the crossroads of fields related to information systems and strategy. This research focuses on integration issues as well as the convergence of heterogeneous actors in information system and also deals with strategic alignment in an inter-organizational mission. To perform this convergence and this projection, we suggest, as our main framework, to classify information systems based on the notion of media richness, and a Model of Inter Organizational Actor Network (MIOAN). We selected a particularly heterogeneous institutional ground for research where we led a longitudinal case study on the fight against the illegal work of departmental and national level. During this study, we sent eighty questionnaires and rolled out twenty three interviews of actors fighting against the illegal work. Besides, our position in situ, for several years in this domain, enabled us to take into account our expertise. The analysis of quantitative data was made with the software Microsoft Excel 2010, whereas the qualitative data were processed by the software NVIVO9 (QSR International). From the perspective of theoretical results, three innovative concepts have been highlighted: the information-energy, the organizational otherness and the digital otherness. From a management viewpoint, we advised some recommendations and a national action plan. So, this research brings solutions for a better efficiency in the fight against illegal work on the national and local level through information
