Le, Loarne-Lemaire Séverine. "Les variables structurelles dans la formation des stratégies de convergence dans les télécommunication : une recherche action chez France Telecom." Lyon 3, 2004. http://www.theses.fr/2004LYO33032.
At the beginning of this millennium, the technical convergence is about to born. Nevertheless, how this opportunity can be transformed into innovative services by a multidivisional group, competing within the telecommunication industry. More precisely, how can we develop strategies of innovation, whose implementation requires the cooperation between the divisions of the group? This research, conducted within France Telecom, leads to two main results: Cooperation between divisions to generate new offers is multiform: It involves different kinds of divisions (product divisions, R&D division and distribution divisions), different resources. It raises different assets and is limited by different brakes. The multidivisional structure of the group limits the implementation of some strategies of innovation. This limit can be broken thanks to the coordination between the top management, middle managers from the R&D division and the distribution divisions and staff members from the distribution divisions. The role of these three different actors differs from the nature of the strategy of innovation: autonomous or deliberate. This thesis concludes that the development of strategies of innovation within multidivisional groups, whose structure is similar to France Telecom's one, can be achieved if the relation between R&D and distribution divisions and products divisions changes

"The whale has nothing to learn from plankton", this is how one could summarize the approach of the large groups vis-a-vis startups during the 20th century... However, following the 2008 crisis, the innovation policy of large groups integrates an approach to startups. The rapid pace of business evolution is stretching typical large corporation strategies. Hence, large corporations must seek to adopt an agile approach; borrowed from the startup approach. Rather than changing their own playbook; large groups aim to embrace open innovation as a way to evolve and meet any new business context. As a matter of fact, startups and large corporations have opposed strategies: startups are looking for product-market fit and exponential growth whereas large corporations are focused on optimization and profitability development. Yet, large corporations propose more and more open innovation plans targeting startups. In this thesis, we propose an analysis of the current practices in the corporate world to assess this apparent paradox. Thus, our central research question is: How to show the adequation between the needs of a startup and an open innovation plan of a large corporation by proposing a framework for a systematic and exhaustive analysis of the relationships between large corporations and startups? • What are the startups' needs? Are they evolving as the startup becomes more mature? • How to design tools for a systematic and exhaustive understanding of the open innovation plans and the support provided? • Is there an approach to identify the adequation between startup's needs and large corporation supports? We propose a maturity-grid-based framework to analyze the expected added value of open innovation measures proposed by large corporations. We build our grid on two scales: 1) on the type of engagement and relationships between large corporations and startups; 2) on the domains that the development of a startup should consider under the lens of the new ISO standards on innovation management ISO56000 series. We implement this framework for the French ecosystem (CAC 40 companies) with French startups survey and interviews of large corporations out of CAC 40 group. Finally, we validate our approach and findings with external stakeholders to our research. We have sketched several aspects of the large companies and startups interactions. Such interactions will increase in the near future, leading to new modes of cooperation especially after COVID-19 crisis. This work could serve as a basis for their future study

The learning process for entrepreneurs is an emerging field of research and little empirical research has been carried out. Research has two aims: - describe the learning process of entrepreneurs in real terms on the basis of the theory of experiential learning developed by Kolb (1984), to improve our understanding; - propose a typology of learning routes for entrepreneurs, i. E. The manner in which the former beliefs of entrepreneurs are transformed over time by thinking and action in a given socio-economic and institutional context. The methodological approach is qualitative. The research strategy is mainly based on the case study method recommended by Yin, and on the qualitative data analysis tools suggested by Miles and Huberman. The thesis rests on the one hand on an exploratory study carried out on the basis of the accompaniment of one entrepreneur, and on the other hand on a comparison of the evolutions of six innovative processes for the creation of a company. The results obtained in the thesis can be summarized in two main points: - the incorporation of the learning theories presented in literature in a conceptual framework; - the abduction-based construction, i. E. Via constant return trips between fieldwork and theoretical assumptions, of three standard learning routes for entrepreneurs. To conclude, this analysis enables the explanation of the factors likely to encourage the learning process of entrepreneurs

Soltim-Proval, the french leader software maker for personal insurance, must accomplish the merger of the two companies and adopt a communication approach to establish the new entity’s fame and image for its target market. Soltim-Proval is set against several questions of communication concerning the concept of identities, brand, accompaniment of change, image and communications approach, to be able to act in consistency with its stakeholders’ speeches. In an evolving economic environment, the “know well” being as important as the ”know-how” for the B-to-B market and the reputation playing a business-critical part

Technological innovation, and CSR involvement, is nowadays an important issue for firms. However, its influence remains under researched in the context of SMES’s. Our thesis contributes to filling a gap in the literature and highlights the adoption of technological innovations in industrial independent manufacturing SMEs with managerial practices-oriented CSR. To answer the main question of the thesis " Does stakeholder orientation promote the adoption of technological innovations in CSR-oriented SMEs?", we will mobilize Freeman's Stakeholder Theory (1984) as the starting point for our reflection. The reflections devoted Freeman's Stakeholder Theory enabled us to examine the effect of actors present in the environment of French industrial independent manufacturing SMEs by the stakeholder model proposed by Buysse and Verbeke (2003) allowed us to observe which groups of stakeholders positively influence the adoption of technological innovations. This research is based on a double approach: qualitative descriptive and quantitative econometric. Three major contributions stem from this thesis: (1) Explore CSR practices widely used in SMEs from the CSR and sustainable development study of INSEE (EnDD2011); (2) Two main results: 2-a- SMEs develop, intense and diversified relationships – however very localized – with stakeholders which aim to adopt technological innovations in the INSEE Innovation CIS 2012 study; 2-b- SMEs prefer the relationship with some stakeholders in their activity of adopting technological innovations for strategic reasons. In view of the results presented, managerial recommendations are put forward to help increase the commitment of managers of independent industrial manufacturing SMEs in stakeholder relations to optimize the adoption of technological innovations

The thesis rests on practical cases in company and on research tasks in industrial economy. We will refer to a vision of the company based on its competences and its knowledge. It registers the company in the action, in continuous processes of transformations and evolutions. The organization of the collective learning, knowledge and competences is a strategic objective for companies. This organization rests, today, mainly on data-processing tools. They transform the production process and the internal and external relations of the companies. They reveal of true chain of "administrative" production. The companies seek within the framework of their management of production, to pass from logic of loads to logic of flow. They transform apparently independent activities into continuous processes. The chain of "administrative" production becomes, therefore, optimized and subjected to the constraints of the industrial engineering of work. We try to propose a relevant framework of analysis to the industrialization of the services which integrates the various components of the organization. It is a question of improving the legibility of the roles and tasks of each one, working out a whole of indicators and measurements of performances and proposing an optimized organization. The company lay out, then, of an evolutionary cartography of its know-how and processes and technologies which support them. It perennializes a continuous improvement of the processes in term of productivity, quality and evolutionarity

Learning systems are a particular class of systems designed to produce services; their main purpose is to increase the competency of learners. This type of system is likely to face many transformations in the next few years. Indeed, learning systems must be able to respond to the changing needs of learners and of the industries that recruit the learners for employment. Moreover, they will operate in an increasingly competitive and more aggressive environment. The primary objective of this work is to define a performance measurement system of higher education institutions, which we will then link with action levers to allow a reactive control. Note that the main specificity of the learning system is that the product (learner) is also the actor in the production process and the client of the organization that provides the system. Thus we are confronted with a new type of product, the active product ; and the control system must be able to take into account this characteristic of the learning system. We propose a method in order to implement an integrated and reactive system of control. This method is composed of nine different steps from the definition of the system s strategy to the definition of the operational goals. The method is also using a phase of model to define a process map and a UML model.hese works are based on two principal activities: the deployment of the strategy through the conception of the performance measurement system and the conception of the control system itself. These two activities are articulated around a model activity, indispensable to implement our system. Existing methods will be used and adapted to our particular needs, like method of balanced scorecards for the deployment of the strategy or the Statecharts formalism to model the behaviour of our cooperating structure of control
Zong, Zhen. "Le processus de catégorisation des activités économiques émergentes : le cas des nanotechnologies en France." Thesis, Lille 1, 2013. http://www.theses.fr/2013LIL12024/document.
The aim of this thesis is to study the categorization process of emerging activities to contribute to the discussion about industries’ creations, especially through technological innovations. Two approaches of categorization in the literature have been identified: a content approach that focuses on the consequences of the categories and a process-based approach that focuses on the process of categorizing organizations. Both approaches are converging by showing the importance of the concept of boundary for categorization. In terms of methodology, we chose a qualitative approach based on a longitudinal case study on nanotechnologies in France. The results of this research show that two types of processes exist for the categorization of economic activity: the internal process and external process of boundary creation. The internal process is characterized by mutual awareness of common interest between stakeholders of the activity, theorization of knowledge, and claiming for differentiation between stakeholders. The external process is reflected in the efforts of stakeholders to the legitimization of nanotechnologies in the eyes of external audiences. Internal and external processes of boundary creation in the case of nanotechnologies interact and reinforce each other. A typology of three strategies mobilized in the categorization including attachment strategies, distinction strategies and ambiguity strategies, has also been proposed through this study. The thesis provides recommendations towards entrepreneurs to better manage the acceptance of their emerging activity
