Abstract Während das Aufkommen der Bezeichnung Germanist für die Vertreter der Deutschen Philologie von der zweiten Hälfte der 1830er Jahre an nachweisbar ist, blieb Weinholds 1888 aufgeworfene Frage ,,Wann und wo ist das ungeheuerliche wort Germanistik aufgekommen?“ bisher unbeantwortet. Die hier vorgestellten Belege zeigen, dass der Terminus Germanistik schon seit den frühen 1850er Jahren insbesondere in Zeitungsbeiträgen erscheint und als Bezeichnung für die noch neue Disziplin verwendet wird. Als Verfasser des Artikels mit dem (bisher) frühesten Beleg für Germanistik konnte der ,Altmünchener‘ Privatgelehrte Hyazinth Holland ermittelt werden, der mehrfach vergeblich eine Universitätsprofessur zu erlangen suchte.While the emergence of the term Germanist for the representatives of German philology can be traced from the second half of the 1830s on, Weinhold’s question ,,Wann und wo ist das ungeheuerliche Wort Germanistik aufgekommen?“ [When and where did the monstrous word Germanistik arise?], brought up in 1888, has not been answered up to now. The evidence presented here proves that the term Germanistik <?page nr="648"?>has been used since the early 1850s, particularly in newspaper articles, being coined as a term for the still young academic discipline. The author of the article with the (so far) earliest evidence of Germanistik could be identified as the ,Altmünchener‘ private scholar Hyazinth Holland who repeatedly tried in vain to obtain a university professorship.

Abstract:
From Cooperative Society to Ethnic Community: German Legal Studies in Legal History during National Socialism. The history of Germanist legal historians during the era of National Socialism is a history of a declining scholarship. The old hierarchy amongst Germanists from the Weimar Republic had vanished, but even the pressure of the NS-state and its organizations did not lead to a new firm order. Although the Germanists adapted their scholarship to the Nazi ideology and although some of them were deeply involved in injustice, they had no really significant influence in the new regime. German legal history was confined to deliver the keywords for decisions of lawmakers and practitioners. Germanist scholarship survived, but at the cost of merely being a subordinate element in a dictatorship.

Abstract:
The publication presents the memoirs of professor, Father Yuri Mytsyk about Soviet Ukrainian germanist Anatolii Zavialov. Yuri Mytsyk worked with Anatolii Zavialov at the same department from 1974 till 1989, and from 1975 carried out the duties of his deputy. Zavialov’s academic life and his teaching career in 1960s-2000s was connected to Dnipropetrovsk university. At that time Zavialov actively studied the contemporary history of the German Democratic Republic, he was the author of many articles, including texts in prominent scientific journals, tutorials and published two monographs. He was one of the few Soviet germanists, who had business trips not only to the German Democratic Republic, but also behind the “Iron Curtain”. Zavialov also had the experience of teaching in the universities abroad. As the head of the department of world history, Zavialov made efforts to form a research direction in historical German studies at the university. The majority of dissertations, defended under his scientific supervision, were devoted to German history of the XXth century. Some of his graduate students-germanists continued their career at the department, and it became possible to create a strong center of German studies and turn the department of world history into a center of historical germanistics. To provide the opportunities to publish research in German history, in 1973 the scientific edition “The Questions of German History” was founded at the department of world history of Dnipropetrovsk national university, later it received the status of inter-university scientific edition. Articles here were published by historians-germanists from Soviet Union and the German Democratic Republic. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany, the study of the history of the German Democratic Republic went bankrupt and Zavialov turned to the history of German diaspora in Ukraine. He focused on political history of the German colonies at the beginning of the XXth century and the questions of the history of colonization in civilizational dimension. The last years of the historian`s life were over shadowed by a sharp deterioration of health and decline in scientific activity.

Observations on the Spread of Lexical Germanisms in the Contemporary Silesian RegiolectThe article analyses the extent to which Silesians who say that they regularly use the Silesian regiolect still actively use the numerous lexical Germanisms that have been described for Silesian. It is based on a survey of nearly 1,000 respondents about their “subjective frequency” of Germanism usage. Procedures are suggested for distinguishing between Germanisms that tend to be used more frequently and those that tend to be used less frequently. A much-discussed codification of Silesian could dispense with the latter. Factors influencing usage frequency that are discussed in the article include the prevalence of a range of Silesian Germanisms in Polish dialects outside of Silesia as well as knowledge of German. In addition, the extent of Silesian and Polish usage by speakers of Silesian in different communication contexts is also described.

Abstract:
The enactment of the German Civil Code (BGB) marked the triumph of the Romanists in the famous codification debate. However, the Germanists’ resistance endured and found new grounds and means of conflict. This essay throws light on the exploitation of the fine arts for the advancement of the Germanists’ legal policy. With the help of the prominent murals in the plenary hall of the court of appeal in Düsseldorf, executed in 1913, we will examine the continuing influence of the germanistic combat and the socio-political mores of the functionary elite of the late empire. It will be demonstrated that these murals were an expression of the ressentiment of a certain part of these ‘power elites’ towards the liberal constitutional state which had come into existence by the time of the codification of the BGB at the very latest. Nazi ideology was able to appeal to these political dispositions and values after the First World War. This was one of the major routes that led to the Nazi takeover and finally to the decline of the rule of law in Germany.

O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir como o conceito de campesinato utilizado para a Inglaterra Anglo-Saxônica está inserido nos debates sobre as sociedades germânicas. Estes debates remontam ao século XIX e estão tintos de elementos nacionalistas, projetando na Idade Média as suas respectivas origens nacionais e étnico-raciais. A hipótese principal do artigo é que o(s) conceito(s) de campesinato e (mais amplamente) a visão da sociedade anglossaxã constitui uma visão germanista liberal, que emergiu contraposta à proposição do germanismo formulada pelos nazistas.

Abstract:
The paper sheds light on the problem of borrowings, which is extremely important when learning Serbian as a foreign language. The Serbian language is very open to elements from other languages. On the example of Germanisms (in the field of sports vocabulary), as foreign elements, it is possible to expand the vocabulary of students of the Serbian language as a foreign language. Borrowings, as part of the lexical subsystem, provide an opportunity to become important material that will meet studentsʼ expectations in terms of greater autonomy in language learning, didactic cooperation instead of learning itself, as well as the inclusion of various work techniques that would make language learning more attractive.

Abstract:
A tanulmány egy Makó határában található, kis sírszámú, teljesen feltárt szarmata temetővel foglalkozik. A temetkezési szokások elemzésén túl bemutatjuk a temető külön-leges ékszeranyagát, a viseletre vonatkozó megfigyeléseinket. A leletanyag kiemelkedő darabjai, elsősorban a fibulák, az üveg orsógombok és a változatos gyöngyanyag alapján vizsgáljuk a temető leletanyagának kapcsolatrendszerét. A Kr. u. 2. század második fele és a 3. század első évtizedei közötti időszakban használt, a Maros közelében létesült temető egy olyan szarmata közösség tagjainak temetkezőhelye, akiknek emlékanyagában a Fekete-tenger melléki kapcsolatok mellett a felső-germaniai–raetiai limes menti és a dél-pannoniai, dalmatiai területekkel is szoros kapcsolatok tükröződnek.

Abstract:
Gefördert durch das Auswärtige Amt unterstützt der DAAD auf Basis des Programms Dhoch3 seit 2015 die universitäre Ausbildung künftiger Dozentinnen und -Dozenten im Fach Deutsch als Fremdsprache (DaF) an internationalen Hochschulstandorten. Die Inhalte der Dhoch3-Online-Studienmodule, die von Expertinnen und Experten an deutschen Hochschulen konzipiert wurden, sind weltweit in bestehende Deutsch- und Germanistikstudiengänge integrierbar und ergänzen das bestehende Angebot im Hinblick auf die Qualifizierung künftiger Lehrender. Der vorliegende Sammelband ist der ersten wissenschaftlichen Dhoch3-Konferenz gewidmet, die vom 1. Bis 3. Juni 2022 stattfand. Entlang des Konferenzthemas „Deutsch als Fremdsprache in der digitalen Welt“, kamen Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der Nutzergemeinschaft von Dhoch3, die in fast 30 Ländern als DaF-Dozierende ihre Wirkung entfalten, im virtuellen Raum zusammen, um die fachlichen und wissenschaftlichen Beiträge zu verfolgen und sich zu den Möglichkeiten des Programms Dhoch3 ebenso austauschen und vernetzen wie zu grundsätzlichen Fragestellungen welche die Potenziale der Digitalisierung im Fach Deutsch als Fremdsprache betrafen. Etwas mehr als ein halbes Jahr nach Abschluss der Konferenz ist nun der vorliegende Sammelband entstanden, für den insgesamt 16 fachliche und wissenschaftliche Konferenzbeiträge verschriftlicht wurden. Der Sammelband ist in fünf Abschnitte untergegliedert. Im ersten, einführenden Teil werden die Leserinnen und Leser mit dem Programm Dhoch3 vertraut gemacht. Im zweiten Abschnitt folgen drei „Werkstattberichte“, die sich der Fragen der Implementierung von Dhoch3- sowie den anwendungsbezogenen Programmkomponenten „Praxiskomponente“ und „Lehr-Lern-Bereich Blended Learning“ widmen. Im dritten Teil werden die Konferenzbeiträge zusammengefasst, die unmittelbar dem Programm Dhoch3 gewidmet sind, in den Beiträgen des vierten Teils werden Fragestellungen thematisiert, welche verschiedene, grundsätzliche Aspekte der Digitalisierung des Fachs Deutsch als Fremdsprache betreffen. Abgerundet wird der Konferenzband durch die Verschriftlichung der Podiumsdiskussion mit dem Titel „Mit den Partnerinnen und Partnern sprechen, und nicht nur über sie. Über die Beteiligung der internationalen Germanistik an Dhoch3.“ Für das Zustandekommen des vorliegenden Bands richtet sich unser Dank an alle Autorinnen und Autoren, die durch die Verschriftlichung ihrer Beiträge zum Gelingen der Publikation beigetragen haben, sowie an alle Beteiligten, die uns bei Konferenz- sowie im Zuge der redaktionellen Arbeit auf verschiedensten Wegen tatkräftig unterstützt haben.
