Abstract:

Ziel dieser Arbeit ist, das Grundwissen über die Welt der Videospiele zu erweitern. Es wird präsentiert, wie ein Videospiel entsteht und welche psychologischen und gesellschaftlichen Eigenschaften sie haben. Danach werden die Gemeinsamkeiten bzw. Verschiedenheiten von Buch und Videospiel im Sinne der Spanungsentstehung verglichen. Als Material bei der Betrachtung der Spannungsentstehung wird das Videospiel Halo: Combat Evolved und das Buch Halo: The Flood benutzt. In diesem Fall ist das Buch nach dem Videospiel erschienen. In dieser Arbeit wurden die wissenschaftlichen Methoden der Hermeneutischen Literaturtheorie, Rezeptionsästhetik und Spieltheorie benutzt. Die Videospielindustrie heute ist in ihrer Gröβe vergleichbar mit der Filmindustrie. In Videospielen können heute viele verschiedene psychologische und gesellschaftliche Wirkungen gefunden werden. Videospiele integrieren Systeme, die den Spieler an das Spielen fesseln sollen und ihn dafür auch belohnen. Spielen genieβt in unserer Zeit eine höhere Akzeptanz und es wird nicht mehr als eine einsame Tätigkeit gesehen. Das Spielen von Videospielen hat auch eine positive Wirkung auf die sozialen Fähigkeiten eines Menschen. Der Spieler kann durch das Spielen auch andere Fähigkeiten erlernen oder verbessern. Spannung in Videospielen ist zum Teil damit verbunden, dass der Spieler das ‚Ich‘ im Spiel ist. Er kann dadurch eine tiefere Bindung mit dem Protagonisten bilden. Das Buch verliert Spannungselemente, wenn die Handlung zu genau dem Original (Videospiel) folgt. Durch diese Arbeit kann die Welt der Videospiele und deren Bedeutung besser verstanden werden. Sie hilft auch ein tieferes Verstehen von Spannungsentstehung und deren Übertragung in Videospiel oder Buch zu entwickeln
Työn tarkoituksena on laajentaa perustietämystä videopelien maailmasta. Työssä esitellään kuinka videopeli syntyy ja millaisia psykologisia ja yhteiskunnallisia vaikutuksia niillä on. Tämän jälkeen vertaillaan kirjan ja videopelin samankaltaisuuksia sekä eroavaisuuksia jännityksen syntymisen näkökulmasta. Esimerkkeinä jännityksen syntymisestä ja samalla tutkimusaineistona on käytetty videopeliä Halo: Combat Evolved sekä kirjaa Halo: The Flood. Tässä tapauksessa kirja on ilmestynyt videopelin jälkeen. Työn tieteellisinä metodeina on käytetty hermeneuttista kirjallisuusteoriaa, reseptioestetiikkaa sekä peliteoriaa. Nykyään peliteollisuus on kooltaan verrattavissa elokuvateollisuuteen. Videopeleistä voi löytää monia psykologisia sekä yhteiskunnallisia vaikutuksia. Videopeleihin on integroitu järjestelmiä, joiden tarkoitus on pitää pelaajat pelaamassa. Samalla järjestelmät myös palkitsevat pelaajaa. Pelaaminen hyväksytään tänä päivänä yleisesti, eikä sitä enää nähdä yksinäisenä tekemisenä. Videopelien pelaamisella on myös positiivisia vaikutuksia ihmisen sosiaalisiin kykyihin. Pelaaja voi oppia ja parantaa pelaamisen kautta myös muita kykyjä. Videopeleissä syntyvä jännitys on osittain sidoksissa pelaajan esiintymiseen ”minä hahmona”. Tästä johtuen pelaaja voi saavuttaa tiiviimmän yhteyden päähenkilön kanssa. Kirja menettää jännityselementtejä, mikäli sen juoni seuraa liian tarkasti alkuperäistä (videopeliä). Tämän työn myötä on helpompi ymmärtää videopelien maailmaa, sekä niiden merkitystä. Työ syventää myös ymmärrystä jännityksen kehittymisestä ja sen soveltamisesta videopeleissä ja kirjoissa

Abstract:

La presente tesis pretende conectar propuestas teleológicas con la poética planteada por Carlos Germán Belli en su extenso poema ¡Salve, Spes! Un objetivo es demostrar que este poema es un hito del desarrollo diacrónico de la poética belliana, ya que codifica tanto una singular propuesta de creación lírica, así como un entramado conceptual ético que funciona como fundamentación temática del poema. La primera parte de la tesis está enfocada en el marco teórico sobre teleología, planteada en tratados aristotélicos y, posteriormente, desarrollada por reelaboraciones de terapéutica e identidad moderna que plantean las obras filosóficas de Ernst Bloch, Charles Taylor y Martha Nussbaum. La segunda parte de la tesis establece límites para la interpretación y comparación de ¡Salve, Spes! en el corpus poético belliano. Se demuestra que el poema de Belli propone la resolución de tensiones temáticas e imbricaciones estilísticas en este punto particular de su producción, en el cual la figura de la Spes funciona como alegoría central que consolida dicho proceso. El análisis de los tópicos recurrentes, la unidad métrica y la intertextualidad dariana sirven para demostrar que ¡Salve, Spes! funciona como una renovación celebratoria de motivos formales, simbólicos y alegóricos en el universo conformado por Belli.

Abstract:

As part of the programme BA Forest Engineering at Hochschule WeihenstephanTriesdorf, University of Applied Sciences (HSWT), Department of Forestry we introduced a Forest Training Trail (FTT) to complement our curriculum with a strong focus on applied training in the field. The core of the FTT is (i) the trail itself with several sites with different focus and (ii) a questionnaire. Every semester a new trail at a new site within the training forest is set up. Usually, the trail encompasses four to six stations, each station representing a thematic focus of the training in the BA 'Forest Engineering', e.g. vegetation, silviculture, hunting, environmental protection, soil or other aspects. The students form teams of three and walk the FTT with a questionnaire and a map of the trail. After the deadline for handing in the questionnaires a master solution of the FTT is published on the faculty homepage in order to give students an opportunity for a self-feedback. The results of the regular evaluation show a high acceptance by the students. Our conclusion after four years of experience with the FTT is that the design as competition and game including a trophy resulted in a very high acceptance and participation with joy.

Abstract:

Deutschlandweit nehmen die Schulen zahlenmäßig von Jahr zu Jahr zu, die ein bilinguales Angebot z.B. als Zweig oder als Modul in ihr Unterrichtsprogramm aufnehmen. Die meisten Angebote sind in englischer Sprache, aber auch andere – vor allem europäische Sprachen – spielen eine Rolle. Mittlerweile gibt es bilinguale Angebote in fast allen Fächern, wobei die gesellschaftswissenschaftlichen Fächer wie z.B. Geschichte und Geographie nach wie vor dominieren. Überraschenderweise spielt das Fach Darstellendes Spiel in der Diskussion um potenziell geeignete bilinguale Fächer weder in der Theorie noch in der Praxis eine nennenswerte Rolle. Mit der Wahl dieses Themas für die vorliegende Dissertationsschrift wird der bilinguale Sachfachunterricht Darstellendes Spiel erstmals in das Blickfeld der Forschung gerückt. Damit werden sowohl dem Sachfach als auch dem bilingualen Unterricht neue Perspektiven eröffnet. In der vorliegenden Dissertation wird folgenden übergeordneten Fragestellungen nachgegangen: Wie kann das bilinguale Sachfach Darstellendes Spiel für die Sekundarstufen I und II der allgemeinbildenden Schulen konzipiert werden? Worin liegt das besondere Potenzial des bilingualen Sachfachunterrichts Darstellendes Spiel? Welches sind seine spezifischen Merkmale? Dabei soll aufgezeigt werden, wo und in welchem Maße der Einsatz der Fremdsprache die sachfachliche Arbeit positiv oder negativ beeinflusst bzw. welche Auswirkungen der Unterricht im Sachfach auf den Fremdsprachenerwerb hat. Zur Beantwortung dieser Fragen wurde eine Auswahl existierender Ansätze zum szenischen Spiel im Fremdsprachunterricht unter Einbeziehung allgemeiner Überlegungen zur Funktion von Theaterspiel analysiert und zu den Besonderheiten des bilingualen Sachfachunterrichts in Beziehung gesetzt. Das auf dieser Basis erstellte Konzept wird in seinen vielfältigen Potenzialen analysiert und ausgelotet und mit Hilfe eines Praxisbeispiels in englischer Sprache veranschaulicht.
The number of schools in Germany which offer to teach one or more subjects in a foreign language (content and language integrated learning = CLIL) is still growing. The subjects often chosen for this type of instruction are Geography and History. Other subjects are less frequently taught in a foreign language. The courses vary in length (a number of school years or only some weeks). Drama is very rarely chosen as a CLIL-subject, and there are hardly any reports of successful teaching of or scientific literature about CLIL Drama. This thesis puts CLIL Drama for the first time in the centre of scientific research, thus opening new prospects for Drama and CLIL. The main questions this thesis attempts to answer are the following: What could a concept for CLIL Drama look like for pupils at state schools aged between 13 and 18? How can the potential value added of CLIL Drama be described? What are its key features? This thesis also points to the advantages and disadvantages of CLIL Drama. In the search for an answer to the above questions the author has analysed existing approaches to teaching a foreign language (mainly English, but also German and French) with the help of drama, including the current German discussion about bilingual teaching at state schools. Furthermore, the author presents an alternative look into what theatre is about in this context. On the basis of the results of her research the author draws up a broad concept for CLIL Drama at German secondary schools. The thesis concludes with an illustration of a CLIL Drama project (in English) launched among 14-year-olds at a German gymnasium.

Abstract:

Hilde Spiel (1911-1990) had gained a respectable literary reputation when she emigrated to England in 1936. At that time she was working on her fourth novel. It reflected her own experiences, as did most of her prose. She later turned to journalism to earn a living. Following the war she frequently returned to Austria. But even after her "final return" in 1963, she maintained strong personal and professional ties to Britain. She could never resolve the resulting dilemma of divided loyalties which she expressed in her autobiography by asking, "Which World is my World?" In exile Spiel decided to switch languages, usually producing both a German and an English version of her works. Detailed comparisons show the difficulty of making the transition to a foreign tongue and the considerable obstacles involved in eventually reversing the process. These changes also entailed significant textual revisions. In her own distinctive way Spiel confronted many of the problems germane to a woman of her generation. Her life and work were shaped by conflicting influences--literature and journalism, family and profession, her husbands Peter de Mendelssohn and Hans Flesch-Brunningen, past and present, her attachment to England and her passionate devotion to Vienna. Ultimately, she could not reconcile her image of the city's "Golden Autumn" that had produced such a wealth of cultural achievement with her impressions of present day Austria where she found provincialism and malice prevailing. Spiel's critical intelligence and sense of ambiguity define her style as a writer whose elegant and expressive language is evident even in her smallest pieces. The quality of her novels, to be sure, is not always consistent and her opinions are often controversial, even contestable, but Hilde Spiel's voice continues to deserve our attention.
