Abstract:

AbstractGeographical Information System (GIS) is a computer-based system that can perform analysis for various datasets in relation to specific geographical locations and has been widely applied in agriculture. So far, GIS has been used in relatively few studies related to honey bees and beekeeping, but this article aims to review those previously performed and to present trends to apply GIS in beekeeping and then to help and guide researchers to perform more studies utilizing it. GIS can clearly be utilized to select suitable locations for apiaries, to map bee plants, to study bee behavior, diseases and pests, and to predict the effects of climate change on honey bees beside other benefits for beekeeping. Many obstacles and problems facing beekeeping can be mapped and analyzed using GIS, and other techniques can be used with it to perform the required tasks as presented in this review.

Abstract:

In the past two decades, the computer technology industry has developed rapidly, and the geological prospecting industry is also undergoing a computerized and electronic revolution. The application technology of new geological information systems is gradually adding us to the spatial information system of geological prospecting projects. In order to deeply study the current situation of the artificial neural network model in the spatial analysis of our country’s geographic information system, this paper uses the traditional classification analysis method; database analysis and neural network analysis method of compensating samples were collected, an artificial model of the network is established, and the algorithm is simplified. And a neural network model is created. In the research of A and B counties’ geographic information system, using a new network model, 61 geological disasters were found in County A, of which 47 were landslides, 4 collapses, and 10 unstable slopes. There were 19 geographical disasters in County B, including 9 unstable slopes, 6 landslides and 4 collapses. In terms of geographic prediction combined with the network model, the comparison with the actual situation shows that the geographical distribution is 99.7% in the geographical and geological disaster-prone areas, and the geographical distribution is less in the nonprone areas, with a proportion of 0.3%. Geological disaster-prone areas of low points accounted for 76.9%, and the number of disaster-affected points in the low-prone areas accounted for 22.8%. The geographical and geological grades divided by the evaluation model are basically consistent with the actual grades, which can meet the needs of geographic evaluation. It is basically realized that starting from the model’s geographic information system, a more comprehensive and practical artificial neural network model is designed.

Abstract:

Information about the geographical location of universities is necessary for graduates of Senior High School who want to continue their education to a university. Most of the graduate students do not know the location of the universities since the geographical location of Google Maps is less clear and less precise. Therefore, the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based on Information Retrieval (IR) is expected to facilitate the graduate students to know the exact location of the university. In this paper, IR-based GIS application is developed by using web programming. The web is used as a search engine when someone wants to find a college. The application shows the map and information of the college in the area according to the query of the user. Naive Bayes algorithm is used to classify the user query and locate the query on the map. Based on our prototype, the application is promising to be implemented for the student.

Abstract:

To properly monitor the grain storage facilities, small scale farmer land parcels and track crops grown in the land parcels, we propose an information system that uses GIS technologies. The proposed module would assist in improving food security by providing a real-time record of stock levels in the various strategic grain reserves. It would also help the Government through Farmer Input Support Program (FISP) adequately target small scale farmers of the poorest households by displaying their land parcels. ABSTRACT Geographical Information System (GIS) technology has been implemented at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) within the Exploration Topographic Department, in support of various applications over the previous few years. The primary uses for GIS technology within Exploration are in providing users with simple access to corporate attribute data via a uniform map-based interface, thereby enabling them to carry out data quality control, spatial analysis, and mapping. Initially GIS technology has been implemented with applications linking to the corporate well database, to prospect and lead databases for portfolio management, and to seismic 2-D and 3-D location and interpretation data. Particularly for personnel new to the PDO environment, GIS provides a tool for users to become quickly familiar with the available corporate data and for managers to analyse data in a way not previously possible.

Rapid and fast-growing developments have increased the demand to build more facilities and buildings in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). In accordance with this statement, newly or senior students including lectures in UTHM finds it difficult to locate their accurate location or destination which causes their wastage of time and energy. Thus, studies on locating building using Geographic Information System (GIS) application were conducted. The main aim of this study is to develop a web based GIS application as a proper and effective solution which is intended to minimize the problems in locating buildings and facilities within main campus of UTHM. The objectives of this study are to develop a database for UTHM main campus buildings where it will be used to analysis building locator information and developing the database into a web-based application. The database system is designed using QGIS where geospatial and attribute data were used to create a database as a dataset to run the application. This application known as Campus Building Locator (CBL) was designed with suitable information such as block name, building name and block image to show building’s location and facilities. Questioners have been distributed to analysis the effectiveness of CBL based on users feedback. Based on the result obtained, 58% of the users strongly agree that CBL is a user-friendly application and 67% of users also strongly agree that the information provided as mentioned before is sufficient enough to locate building or facilities around the campus area. About 58% of users are satisfied with the components and features provided in this application where it attracts the user to use it more often for their search. Overall, CBL will introduce new searching approach, a very useful medium and standard references to all UTHM occupants.

Abstract:

A comprehensive highway cost model can be used for optimizing highway alignments subject to a number of design constraints. Because a geographic information system (GIS) can spatially represent the locations of properties, floodplains, streams, and other geographical characteristics of significance in a highway cost model, it can provide valuable input to a highway design optimization model. Additionally, a GIS-based model can be developed to compute geographically sensitive costs to be used with an iterative optimization scheme. However, connecting a GIS to a highway optimization model requires full automation of an entire search process in which there is a continuous exchange of inputs and outputs until the optimized solution is obtained. An integrated model is developed by linking a GIS model with an optimization model employing genetic algorithms (GAs). The GIS model provides accurate geographical features, computes location-dependent costs, and transmits these costs to an external program. That program computes length-dependent costs and user costs and then, using GAs, optimizes the highway alignment to minimize the sum of all costs. An example study using real land use and environmental features is presented for a part of Talbot County, Maryland. The computational performance of the integrated model is assessed.

Geographical Information System (GIS) is computer software used for collection, storage, transformation, retrieval and display of geo spatial data from the real GIS world. The purpose of this research is to improve the management of waqf assets by displaying the geographical locations of waqf land assets so that it is easier to monitor waqf assets so that their utilization can be maximized through the geographical information system at the Cikupa District Religious Affairs Office. Endowments are assets of the people who must be saved, managed well, and developed for useful purposes. The system analysis method used is PIECES which consists of Performance, Information, Economy, Control, Efficiency and Service. Unified modeling Language (UML) as a tool to analyze system rocedures that are running. Abstract:

Abstract. In this paper, the Antecedent Precipitation Index Model (API) combined with Nash’s Instantaneous Unit Curve Method is adopted for flood forecasting. The parameters n and k of Nash’s Method is obtained by setting up the mathematic relation between these two parameters and topographic characteristics. Based on the DEM information, ArcGIS software is used to get the topographic characteristics and the topographic parameters. The Tunxi basin in the humid region was taken as an example for analysis. Through comparison with the simulation results of the Xinanjiang model, the detailed analysis of our simulation results is carried out giving a Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency 0.80 for the combined model and 0.94 for the Xinanjiang model. This indicates that the combined model as well as the Xinanjiang Model has a good performance in the simulation process. The combined model has great potential as a new efficient approach for flood forecasting in similar basins.

The Internet is fast becoming the standard environment for client-server applications that involve multiple users. The proliferation of Internet-based application development tools opens new doors to transportation researchers who work in real-time decision support system development. In the 1990s, one of the most important problems in advanced transportation management systems research was the development of better incident management systems. Although the incident management process has been well studied, the development of real-time decision support systems that can be used by all the involved agencies remains a challenging area of transportation engineering research. Existing incident management systems are developed on various traditional computing platforms, including UNIX and Windows. However, with the advent of the World Wide Web and Internet-based programming tools such as Java, it is possible to develop platform independent decision support tools for the incident management agencies. Web-based support tools offer an invaluable opportunity to develop next-generation online decision support tools for real-time traffic management. The applicability of Web-based tools to the development of online decision support systems for incident management is explored and demonstrated, and a prototype incident management decision support system (DSS) that has most of the capabilities of similar UNIX-based DSS support systems is developed and tested. Briefly described are the implementation and development of a prototype wide-area incident management system using Web-based tools.

Geographical Information System is an information system based on computer work that enters, manages, manipulates and analyzes data and provides descriptions and produces geographically referenced data.By using the Geographic Information System, it is hoped that it will be easier for the people of Indonesia to find out which locations or provinces are most affected by Covid-19. The use of a geographic information system (GIS) concerning the presentation of data and information in the form of maps can be used as a tool in making a decision.Research uses web service technology to collect data and integrate services from multiple sources. The web service protocol and architecture used is (REST), with independent data exchange using the JSON format. The application (GIS) will later be tested using black box testing methods and automation testing.

Abstract:

The most important condition for training specialists in modern higher education institutions is the possession of information systems and technologies. The article highlights the relevance of training future teachers of geography via using modern geographic information systems. Informatization of society ensures the future development of science, education, production, forms a reality. For future teachers of geography it is important to be able to apply modern methods of information processing, use databases to develop projects based on modern geographical information systems. The article analyzed the importance of using software in the educational process on the example of open GIS SAGA and QGIS, the use of resources of EO Browser, Giovanni, Google (GoogleEarth). The specifics of the work of students of geographical specialties is the ability to operate with data that have geo-referenced objects, their mutual location in the territory, consistency between many factors of territorial organization. The result of such activities is a developed geographical map or system project. They demonstrate the patterns of distribution of objects or processes in the territory. The article identifies competency-oriented approaches in teaching future geography teachers in an information-modernized educational space. Working with open GIS SAGA during the implementation of practical tasks allows you to form general and professional competencies, soft skills – the ability to act collectively and teamwork skills. The importance of geographic information systems makes it necessary to increase the number of hours in student curricula. The curriculum for the training of specialists is constantly being improved by making suggestions by students, teachers, and stakeholders.

Abstract:

As the inclination increases, soil erosion and, in general, the process of erosion on the slopes intensifies, the moisture content of the soil and soil-forming rocks decreases, the growth of agricultural crops and pastures weakens, and productivity decreases. Taking all this into account, we have developed a slope map with degrees based on the digital elevation model of the Jalilabad cadastral region (DEM file). Slope study and mapping is one of the key measures to protect soils from erosion as well as to combat erosion. When the slope reaches 3-4°, the washing of the soil is even faster. It is not recommended to plow the fields when the slope is 8-10° and more. From this point of view, as a result of our research, the inclination of the Jalilabad cadastral region has been studied. The lowest inclination range in the study area is 0-20. Low inclination is observed mainly in the plains of Jalilabad cadastral region. As you ascend to the heights, there is an increase in inclination. Taking into account the propensity in agriculture can lead to high yields. Abstract:

This study presents a visualization system based on a geographic information system (GIS) for planning and monitoring the progress of construction projects that are repetitive due to their geometrical layout. A prototype system was developed and applied to an actual pipeline project to demonstrate the advantages of the proposed approach. The primary advantage of the system is improved visualization of geographical conditions and their impact on the progress rate. Enhanced visual representation of the schedule and work sequence can be achieved by time–lapse simulation. The system also provides a framework for effective communication of schedule, progress, and geographic information among the project participants. Future enhancements to the prototype system are addressed.
