Este artigo apresenta uma proposta antirracista de ensino de Língua Portuguesa que compreende o samba, e, mais especificamente, o samba-enredo, como expressão cultural e ferramenta de resistência da população negra no Brasil, trazendo para a sala de aula “versos que o livro apagou” (G.R.E.S. ESTAÇÃO PRIMEIRA DE MANGUEIRA, 2019). O trabalho se organiza em três seções. Na primeira, discutem-se aspectos histórico-culturais do samba e seu papel na resistência ao racismo estrutural instaurado no Brasil (NOGUEIRA, 2006; MARTINS, 2005; SIMAS, S/D; LOPES, 2005 e 2006; MUNANGA e GOMES, 2007). Na segunda, reflete-se acerca das concepções antirracistas, fundamentando-se em Djamila Ribeiro (2019), Silvio Luiz Almeida (2019) e Nilma Lino Gomes (2007), que enfatizam a urgência da educação antirracista. A proposta de ensino apresentada neste artigo baseia-se em postulados da Pedagogia dos Multiletramentos (COPE; KALANTZIS; PINHEIRO, 2020; MONTE-MÓR apud OLIVEIRA, 2019), dessa forma, considera o caráter sócio-histórico da língua/linguagem e de outros modos de significação, que se caracterizam pela dinamicidade e pela contínua reelaboração por seus usuários. A proposta estrutura-se em quatro dimensões: prática situada, instrução explícita, abordagem crítica e prática transformada, nas quais tematizam-se a letra do samba-enredo e o desfile da escola de samba G.R.E.S. Estação Primeira de Mangueira de 2019, buscando contribuir para uma educação antirracista.

O artigo tem como objetivo analisar o enredo carnavalesco do G.R.E.S. Beija-Flor de Nilópolis no ano de 1975 intitulado “O grande decênio”, desenvolvido pelo jornalista e professor Manuel Antônio Barroso. Buscamos aproximar, através da materialidade criada com o desdobramento do enredo textual para o enredo visual, com as fantasias carnavalescas como ferramenta de propagação do ideário militar durante o período do “milagre brasileiro”. Os enredos patrióticos desse período, conhecidos nos dias de hoje como “chapa-branca”, proporcionaram às agremiações alinhadas à ideologia militar o estigma de escola patriótica ou ainda como “unidos da arena”. A escola de samba de Nilópolis carregou esse fardo pesado, mesmo após a contratação do carnavalesco Joãozinho Trinta, com o enredo “Sonhar com rei dá leão”, em 1976, que conquistou o campeonato daquele ano. Sendo assim, o carnavalesco e a agremiação foram, ainda assim, criticados e julgados pelas marcas de um passado não distante: o ano de 1975 – o grande decênio.Palavras-chave: Carnaval, Chapa-branca, Beija-Flor, Militar, Fantasia.AbstractThe article aims to analyze the carnival story of G.R.E.S. Beija-Flor of Nilópolis in the year of 1975 titled "The great decade". We seek to approach, through materiality created with unfolding of textual plot for the visual, carnival fantasies as a tool for propagating the military ideology during the period of the "Brazilian miracle". The patriotic plots of this period, known nowadays as the "white plate", have given the military-aligned groups the patriotic school stigma. The Nilópolis samba school carried this heavy burden, even after the signing of the carnival Joãozinho Trinta, with the plot "Dreaming of a King of the Lion" in 1976, which won the championship that year. Thus, the carnivalesco and the association were nevertheless criticized and judged by the marks of a not distant past: the year of 1975.Keywords: Carnival, White Plate, Beija-Flor, Military, Fantasy.

Il cimitero monumentale di Parabita 1, progettato dal G.R.A.U. (Gruppo Romano Architetti e Urbanisti) nel 1967 è un’opera che ha profondamente segnato il panorama architettonico italiano sul finire degli anni ’60. Il progetto fu commissionato al G.R.A.U 2 dall’amministrazione comunale come ampliamento del camposanto ottocentesco esistente, per far fronte alla necessità di dotare l’area cimiteriale di nuovi luoghi di tumulazione, ossari, camera mortuaria e servizi. L’area indicata nei documenti catastali, allegati al incarico di progettazione, si sviluppa a nord del preesistente recinto cimiteriale ed occupa una superficie scoscesa di forma pressoché quadrata disposta ai piedi di un’altura che costeggia il settecentesco Convento degli Alcantarini e congiunge due assi viari (Fig. 1).

The phenomenon of ‘unknown’ infant deaths addressed in this article was first explored in the course of research on fatalities arising from political violence during the Irish revolution of 1916–1921. Our data are derived from the General Register of Death Indices (G.R.D.I.), held in the General Register Office, Dublin, which are organised alphabetically, and which form an official record of deaths registered either by relatives of the deceased or by medical personnel. When infant ‘unknown’ fatalities were extracted to form a discrete database they showed a curious gender disparity. There were 100 male infant fatalities recorded for every seventy-eight females in the thirty-two counties over the five-year period. On extending the study to 1932, the same ratio was prevalent in the overall dataset of 895 ‘unknown infants’ drawn from the G.R.D.I. (a dataset which excludes the six counties of Northern Ireland for the period from1922). Initial research into the gender imbalance opened out wider questions concerning social mores regarding illegitimacy, and the extent of medical and lay knowledge of how newborn infants might be brought to death.

Il progetto di Alessandro Anselmi e Paola Chiatante per il Nuovo Cimitero Comunale a Parabita (Lecce) porta a compimento le ricerche promosse all’interno dell’atelier G.R.A.U. dall’inizio degli anni sessanta e contribuisce a inaugurare una stagione di compiuta emancipazione da quella “superstizione del nuovo” oramai avvertita come un’ossificata ortodossia accademico-professionale. Un’attenzione ai contenuti e ai processi specifici della disciplina e un confronto aperto con gli archetipi e i codici linguistici e simbolici che spessorano l’esperienza storica costituiscono le premesse da cui origina un’opera tanto concettualmente complessa e articolata quanto fortemente espressiva nella sua sostanza costruita. Alessandro Anselmi and Paola Chiatante’s project for the New Municipal Cemetery in Parabita (Lecce) is the result of the research carried out within the G.R.A.U. atelier since the early Sixties and contributes to heralding a period of accomplished emancipation from that “superstition of the new” which by then was perceived as ossified academic-professional orthodoxy. A focus on field-specific content and processes, as well as an open dialogue with the archetypes, as well as with the linguistic and symbolic codes that enhance historical experience constitute the premises from which originates a work that is as conceptually complex and articulate as it is strongly expressive in its built substance.

This paper presents the results of measurements of vibrations of the pipes of the steam superheater installed in the convection pass of the 235 MWe Circulating Fluidized Bed boiler (CFB) induced using sonic soot blowers of the Nirafon NI-100 type. The measurements were made using two ICP Triaxial 356A16 accelerometers allowing the analysis of accelerations in the maximum range of ±490 m/s2. Simultaneously with vibration measurements, the sound pressure level was recorded using the G.R.A.S. 40BH high-pressure microphone. The measurements and spectral analysis of the recorded signals showed that the acoustic wave of 148 dB is safe for the steam superheater pipes causing vibrations of maximum amplitude not exceeding 1 mm. The field tests confirmed the supposition that the dominant mechanism for cleaning the surfaces of the superheater’s heating pipes are not pipe vibrations, but the breakage of cohesion forces between dust particles.

La présente étude, qui s’inscrit dans le cadre des travaux du G.R.A.S., porte sur les problèmes et critères de sélection des directeurs d’écoles primaires dans la région 03, à la lumière des développements récents dans le domaine de l’administration scolaire. S’inspirant du modèle analytique de Jacob W. Getzels et al., ses auteurs ont élaboré un questionnaire et ont par ce moyen interrogé les directeurs-généraux des commissions scolaires locales de la région. Il en est ressorti qu’il n’y a pas de politiques de sélection écrites systématiquement appliquées dans la région. Par contre, il s’est aussi révélé que les directeurs-généraux avaient des critères de sélection semblant assez bien refléter leurs attentes et celles du milieu à l’endroit des directeurs. La conclusion principale qui s’en dégage est qu ’il serait souhaitable et urgent que l’usage de ces critères, une fois explicités et évalués, soit officialisé sous la forme de politiques de sélection cohérentes et complètes.

The paper aims to synthesize the thermo-mineral aquifer simulation methodology elaborated, in the 80s, at the Computing Center of the University of Bucharest, C.C.U.B. Professor Ion Văduva initiate a research contract between C.C.U.B. and the Geological Reserve Coordination Department of the Ministry of Geology, G.R.C.D. The result of this joint contract, carried out over several years, is the methodology presented in this paper. Based on this methodology, a software was written and successfully applied to optimize the exploitation of aquifers in the Oradea area.

Real-time noise exposure monitoring has the potential to assess risk before damage occurs. We present on the development of an in- ear device that (1) provides hearing protection; (2) measures the noise in the ear canal to estimate exposure dose; and (3) monitors distortion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) over time. To validate the device’s ability to measure impulse noise under hearing protection, we measured the response in a field test. A single AR15 was shot multiple times, and four prototypes were used in multiple acoustic test fixtures (ATFs) at different relative distances from the exit of the gun. The ATFs included a G.R.A.S 45 CB in addition to a head simulator designed to detect both air- and bone-conducted sound. We evaluated the impulse peak insertion loss (IPIL) metric of the device inserted by itself or in combination with other hearing protection (“double protection” condition) to assess attenuation of impulsive noises. We also compared the device's microphone measurements to those obtained through the ATF microphones, and to the recordings of external microphones located at or near the ear of each ATF. Results demonstrate the value of testing in-ear devices in acoustic test fixtures during development phases.

Background: Adnexal masses are one of the most common pathologies among women of all age groups. Ovarian tumors, alone, represent two thirds of these cases. Malignant ovarian tumors are the fourth most common cause of death in women. Accurate diagnosis is required foremost for proper treatment and management of the patients.Methods: A prospective study done on 100 patients with adnexal masses presenting to Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kamla Raja Hospital, G.R.M.C, Gwalior from February 2015 to August 2016. Firstly, the cases were studied by ultrasonography then intraoperatively and simultaneous sampling for HPE done. The study included women with clinical symptoms of pain abdomen/ discomfort, bleeding per vaginum, abdominal mass was subjected to ultrasonography, diagnosed with adnexal mass. 100 indicated patients were taken for surgery and intraoperative tissue and fluid samples were taken and sent for HPE.Results: No discordance found regarding laterality of adnexal masses between ultrasonographical findings and surgical findings. 69% cases were devoid of any septation/locules/nodules. Most common pathology found to be ectopic pregnancy. Most common benign ovarian mass encountered was serous cystadenoma (31.1%) and malignant mass was serous adenocarcinoma (12.7%). Apart from 13 malignant adnexal masses, 2 adnexal masses had malignant changes found on histopathological examination. 11 cases were found to be of advanced stage on surgical findings, which then confirmed by HPE.Conclusions: There is positive correlation between ultrasonographical and surgerical evaluation of adnexal masses. Correlation of the lesion’s location and appearance at imaging with the surgical findings will aid in the detection of potential pathology reporting errors.

Objective: This studies aims to evaluate the outcome of Microvascular Decompression (MVD) using a muscle graft for interposition in Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN), Hemifacial Spasm (HFS) and Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia (GPN). All surgeries were performed by a single surgeon (G.R.S). Methods: In total, 26 patients with TN, HFS and GPN underwent MVD from September 2007 to April 2019. All the patients were either medically refractory or poor symptom tolerance. The mean follow-up period was 72 months. Results: Each MVD was performed using an autologous muscle graft with interposition of vessels. One patient (3.84%) had reoccurrence after MVD with muscle graft and two patients (7.69%) had partial relief. Conclusion: Various types of prosthesis are used for transposition and interposition of vessels in MVD surgeries. Although in our case series we didn't use any prosthesis for the comparative outcome, the use of muscle graft showed minimal reoccurrence rate with benefit of being cost effective. Therefore, we need randomized controlled trials to prove the superiority of muscle graft from other prosthesis material.

Background: Cesarean section is one of the commonest hospital based surgical procedure in obstetric mainly done to facilitate delivery in case where vaginal delivery is either not feasible or poses undue risk to mother, baby or both. The most common complications of CS are superficial surgical site complications including sepsis, seroma formation and breakdown.Methods: A prospective study done on 100 patients admitted in labour room of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Kamla Raja Hospital, G.R.M.C., Gwalior between November 2015 to March 2016. Study divided into two groups: group I, including women who had no subcutaneous drain left and group II, including women who had a subcutaneous drain left before closure of the skin; Each group has 50 patients. The study included term pregnant women with pre-operative Hb >9 gm%, BMI >30 kg/m2 and were taken for emergency cesarean sections (for cephaloppelvic disproportion, fetal distress, abnormal presentations) with no intraoperative complications (hemorrhage, blood transfusion).Results: VAS median grade in patients without drain was G3 (46%), followed by G2 (28%), G4 (14%). VAS median grade in with drain group was G2 (68%), followed by G1 (24%) and then G3 (08%). Wound infection was noted in 4 (08%) patients in both the groups. Both groups were administered same group of intravenous antibiotics for 5 days. The mean hospital stay in patients without drain were 9.4 days and patients with drain were 8.2 days. The mean haemoglobin in patient with drain was 8.6 gm% and patients without drain was 9.4 gm%. Wound seroma in 13 cases and superficial breakdown in 4 cases in non-drain group versus 5 cases and 2 cases in drain group respectively. There is significant difference in postoperative pain and non-significant difference in postoperative fever.Conclusions: Patients in with drain group have reduced rates of wound seroma, postoperative pain, shorter hospital stay, but there is insignificant benefit regarding post-operative fever, superficial SSI, wound breakdown and hemoglobin concentration.

O presente estudo tem como objetivo lançar questionamentos sobre a relação entre o corpo coletivo da Ala das Baianas e o Carnaval Carioca, entendendo o corpo como uma construção social e simbólica que carrega consigo elementos de resistência e de negociação com as imposições do mercado. Como método, foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratória com integrantes do “G.R.E.S. Feitiço do Rio” a fim de dialogar a respeito do tema e somar a discussões futuras. Para eles, a ala, que guarda as origens do samba e a relação com o sagrado, sofreu algumas mudanças ao longo do tempo mas segue ocupando lugar de resistência.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to explore whether the four value alignment strategies available to educators (Scaffolding, Balancing, Intervention and Refuge) previously identified in the mathematics education literature comprehensively capture educator value alignment strategies in an intervention context. Design/Approach/Methods: To this end, we analyse semi-structured interview data with two teacher-leaders involved in the Getting Ready in Numeracy (G.R.I.N.) intervention program through a value alignment lens. Findings: We ascertain that a fifth strategy, the Beacon strategy, is needed to describe the range of value alignment strategies employed by educators in the G.R.I.N. program. The Beacon strategy involves the educator digging in and reasserting their expectations until the student behaves in a manner that aligns with the educator’s values. In part it involves the educator being able to recognise their own values and clearly communicating these values to students. Originality/value: This article further explores strategies that educators have at their disposal for aligning their values with those of their students. The uncovering of the Beacon strategy is particularly valuable as it suggests that educators could be purposefully pursuing value alignment even when they do not appear to take any active steps to move further towards their students’ sets of values.

A complexidade do mundo contemporâneo impõe formatações inovadoras na leitura das linguagens que circulam na comunicação social convencional (ou hegemônica), as quais imprimem a necessidade de outras perspectivas de abordagem dos fenômenos socioculturais em emergência. Desse lugar de partida, o dossiê “o contemporâneo visto pelo ecrã: políticas, culturas, memórias e identidades” se propôs em reunir reflexões que discutam as inseguranças de nossos tempos. “Ecrãs”, na tradução para a língua portuguesa do Brasil, pode ser entendido como tela de cinema, televisão, computador, celular, tablet, etc., o que a transforma em um espaço de circulação de informações, “máquinas de produção de subjetividades”, como sugere Félix Guatari (1982). Na tradução dessas máquinas de produção de subjetividades aparecem um conjunto de inseguranças, para o bem e para o mal. Inseguranças que “colocam em xeque” a ordem (política, econômica, social, cultural, moral, ética, intelectual, simbólica e subjetiva) estabelecida a partir de um consenso cêntrico “ditado” pela cultura ocidental, mas traz, consigo, o fortalecimento do debate sobre a condição humana. Dessa premissa, impõe leituras distintas da realidade, em que se abrem perspectivas para outros e novos conhecimentos abafados, calados, omitidos, desprivilegiados, subalternizados, colonizados ou para novas e outras interpretações de distintas formas de linguagem e comunicação social, diante de um modelo hegemônico de desenvolvimento, crescimento e progresso aplicados, com maior ou menor grau, a todos, em escala mundial. Abrem-se, face às "imposições" dos tempos informacionais e tecnológicos que experimentamos, amplos campos de disputa “dos”, "nos" e “pelos” sistemas de linguagens que afetam dimensões do político, da cultura, das memórias e das identidades, forjando a necessidade de diferentes modos de compreensão do mundo. Para pensarmos esses contextos em disputa, tomamos como referência a provocação de Sousa (2020) e o destaque em Séquéla (1993, p. 13) que questiona alguns pontos a respeito do nosso tempo: "[...] o poder não existe. A política despolitiza-se, a justiça mediatiza-se, a Igreja prega no deserto, a empresa já não tem poder, e quando a rua se enreda ela enreda-se. A nossa sociedade bipolariza-se, já não entre esquerda e direita, já que não significam grande coisa, mas entre os verdadeiros 'reaças' e os falsos modernos". Tudo isto se repete, dia após dia, nos ecrãs da televisão, das redes sociais, do cinema. A provocação citada foi replicada por Pimenta (2020) e, posteriormente, por Costa (2020), no sentido de tensionar as certezas do futuro e o medo diante de um mundo “doente”. As perguntas sem a devida resposta se avolumam diante da liquidez de nossos tempos (Bauman, 2008) ou da interferência do não-humano nas dinâmicas concretas do humano (Latour, 2012). Contudo, outros quadros de organização social, mental e simbólica se inscrevem nesse processo – por exemplo a proposta do “bem viver” (Acosta, 2016). Esses traçados, aparentemente contraditórios, porém instigantes, fomentam reflexões sobre as formas de disputas que organizam as linguagens e comunicações estruturadoras das “crenças” (no sentido de organização das relações em sociedade) racionais (ciência), simbólicas (religiões), políticas (ideologias) e se juntam às dinâmicas em torno de uma determinada cultura. Há, na base que fundamenta e justifica essa proposição, duas preocupações subjacentes que nos convenceram a instigar pesquisadores, nacionais e internacionais, de línguas ibero-americanas e luso-fônicos, em trazer suas contribuições a este dossiê: (a) a história das relações de colonização; (b) a necessidade de descolonização. Os exercícios anunciados caminham no sentido de desenvolver um interconhecimento de Portugal e do Brasil enquanto países de língua portuguesa, marcados por um passado colonial comum, para além de promover o desenvolvimento da cooperação científica, cultural e artística entre os seus povos, ampliado para os países africanos de língua portuguesa. Podemos destacar que esses movimentos perpassam pela integração da problemática da memória social e das identidades transculturais, com as migrações entre os dois países como pano de fundo. Os textos que compõem o dossiê trabalham com temáticas contemporâneas e assumem um caráter interdisciplinar (teórico e empírico), por meio de interfaces que implicam questões no campo da política, cultura, memórias e identidades. Sintetizam preocupações com as linguagens no sentido de “revelarem” o surgimento de inúmeras formas de desenvolvimento, ambiental e econômico, em outras bases de organização sociocultural. “As marcas do luso-tropicalismo nas intervenções do Presidente da República português (2016-2021)”, abre o dossiê apontando as consequências da política do Estado Novo português em relação aos então territórios “ultramarinos” para legitimar o colonialismo e, consequentemente, mantém o mito da tolerância racial e do nacionalismo integrador e universalista. Em “reflexões sobre o Brasil colônia: as escolas de samba e algumas histórias que a História não contou”, enfatiza-se a relação cultura e desenvolvimento na perspectiva de questionamentos sobre a história colonial brasileira, a partir de manifestações culturais de carnaval, desencadeadas por determinadas escolas de samba do grupo especial do Rio de Janeiro, em especial os desfiles da G.R.E.S Paraíso do Tuiuti, (2018) e da G.R.E.S. Estação Primeira de Mangueira (2019). “Margarida Cardoso e as mulheres da Casa-Grande: reconfigurar a memória (pós)colonial a partir da branquitude”, apresenta a obra de Margarida Cardoso como parte de um movimento global da arte portuguesa contemporânea que visa refletir sobre o presente à luz de um passado recente, no sentido de ultrapassar um evento silencioso e silenciado que marcou a sociedade portuguesa desde os anos 1970 até à década de 1990 dentro das ideias de branquitude e de fragilidade branca. No artigo “um narcisismo colonial: implicações históricas nas tecnologias de vigilância”, propõe-se refletir sobre a interferência dos legados de colonialidade nas tecnologias de vigilância no espaço pós-colonial europeu, argumentando que estes instrumentos implicadas e comprometidas com os contextos histórico, político, social e cultural da ordem hegemônica. Por sua vez, em “dilemas da ciberdemocracia: em qual medida o ciber potencializa a democracia?”, há uma interpretação dos efeitos sociais da ciberdemocracia, na sociedade contemporânea, por meio de identificação dos possíveis danos democráticos vinculados ao uso das redes sociais como plataforma de dissipação de discursos. Apresenta o argumento de que muitos indivíduos se utilizam das redes sociais e desconhecem sua estruturação, atenuando problemáticas do convívio democrático, bem como o espaço da e-democracia não se traduz em, apenas, benefícios. Dentro dessa dinâmica, a análise elaborada no “Wikipédia em língua portuguesa: dinâmicas, estruturas e dilemas na colaboração para o conhecimento”, expõe a realidade da plataforma Wikipédia em língua portuguesa. Trazem alguns casos que demonstram o quotidiano desta comunidade colaborativa, retratando os desafios inerentes à função de edição e difusão de conhecimento em regime enciclopédico, livre e colaborativo para, no final, considerar que as forças superam as fraquezas deste processo colaborativo, sem deixar de reconhecer a existência de disputas poder, sombras aos objetivos altruístas deste projeto enciclopédico. No artigo “zoom out / zoom in às redes sociais digitais do Plano Nacional de Cinema: um visionamento em tempos pandêmicos", vê-se uma elaboração sobre o interesse pelas potencialidades do cinema à educação a partir do Plano Nacional de Cinema de Portugal (PNC), enquanto um programa governamental junto do público escolar. Acredita-se que algumas ferramentas da web social, como as redes sociais digitais, podem ser instrumentos de trabalho válidos para as iniciativas do PNC, numa virtualização complementar da sua presença física nas escolas. Do debate em “Resistência à intermediação pelos ecrãs/telas conectadas” emergem as lógicas tecno-econômicas que organizam as relações sociotécnicas das plataformas sociais digitais. A análise recai sobre temas como: motivação para escolha de voto; cobertura da imprensa sobre o movimento Black Lives Matter; covid-19. Salienta que houve resistência em relação às notícias da imprensa, opiniões de influenciadores ou resultados das discussões em grupos de redes sociais, por parte dos consumidores de informação. O argumento “do subúrbio para a periferia: o suburbanismo fantástico contemporâneo, uma nova ambientação do subgênero cinematográfico?” tensiona o tratamento cinematográfico de Angus McFadzean (2017), tomando como base os filmes A Gente se Vê Ontem (See You Yesterday, Stefon Bristol, 2019) e Vampiros x The Bronx (Vampires x The Bronx, Osmany Rodriguez, 2020). Explicita que estes filmes representam um ciclo fechado do suburbanismo fantástico e podem ser caracterizados como resposta pontual de Hollywood a movimentos sociais como o #OscarSoWhite e o #BlackLivesMatter, mas, também, sensibilidades modernas sobre a representatividade e participação de novos corpos na indústria cinematográfica. O dossiê se encerra com o artigo “olhares netnográficos sobre cultura, desenvolvimento e ações coletivas no vale do paraíba”. Na articulação textual, entende-se cultura como instância ativa da formação social e base ao desenvolvimento regional, apontando à necessária elevação da ação sociocultural ao status de consciência política, visto que se constitui como força de resistência e transformação. O cinema, enquanto recurso pedagógico, tem potencial para contribuir ao enfrentamento de temas como: diferenças; diversidades; novas linguagens pluriculturais. Fecha o dossiê, na seção resenha, a proposição de leitura do livro de “Tarde, G. (1978 [1890]). As leis da imitação. Porto: Rés Editora”. O autor ao revisitar a obra, escrita de 131 anos de existência, repara uma lacuna às Ciências Sociais que pouco priorizou as discussões contidas nas teorizações de Tarde. Revisitar este clássico é, ainda, uma possibilidade de debruçarmos sobre as semelhanças e cópias da imitação sugeridas no livro, mas, também, atualizarmos a amplitude das imitações produzidas, divulgadas, circuladas em contextos e linguagens tecnológicas de comunicação social e de pandemias. Nos resta, na condição de editores, desejar boas reflexões e excelente leitura.

Gym Routine Infection Prevention program’s (G.R.I.P.) purpose was to establish a monitoring program for hand hygiene and equipment disinfection in six rehabilitation/ complex continuing care gymnasiums. Our goal was to create a safe environment by preventing acquisition of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) by promotion of infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices with a focus on hand hygiene compliance and the cleaning and disinfection of shared equipment. A customized tool was created that revealed hand hygiene compliance was 76% before patient contact and 96% after patient contact and cleaning shared equipment before patient use was 79% and after use was 90%

In tandem with the current drive to achieve the SDG 2030 goals, the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is been projected as a strong propelling strategy with key indicators, all aimed at achieving universal access to health services without having to endure financial difficulties in individual countries. Currently, Africa is lagging in meeting the targets of the UHC with between 5% -25% coverage across countries. Adoption of new innovations are critical for the actualization of Universal Health Coverage in Africa. Digital health technology offers one of such novel approaches to providing quality healthcare services and can help countries achieve the Universal Health Coverage targets. It has been suggested that digital health provides an opportunity to overcome the longstanding problems of inefficiency of health information gathering, sharing, and access. In addition, literature is already replete with various factors that can aid countries to achieve UHC and one of such factors is the urgency of generating valid and quality evidence to inform decision-making. Although the Primary Health Care remains at the core of the achievement of Universal Health Coverage, the utilization of digital health technologies remains very poor at the grassroots in Africa and this poses a huge barrier to effectiveness and quality of healthcare delivery. Given the foregoing, it is obvious that there is an urgent need to understand the landscapes, issues and barriers to utilization of digital health at the Primary Health Care levels. However, there remains a paucity of data to support evidence-based decision making about full implementation of digital health services across the continent while also taking into cognisance the peculiarities of individual countries. Hence, there is a critical need to determine the current levels of knowledge, skills, attitude, practice and readiness to adopt digital health in service delivery by healthcare workers at the Primary Health Care levels across the continent. The generation of such data from major stakeholders such as health workers and health managers, providers among others will provide important evidence needed for attaining optimal utilization of digital health in the context of health for all. Summarily, a clear understanding of the contextual and implementation bottlenecks highlighted from such assessment(s), especially as it relates to individual African countries, will go a long way to guide decisions to address the low utilization of digital health technologies in health services delivery in Africa.
