Dans la théorie et la clinique psychanalytiques, la figure fraternelle et le transfert fraternel semblent être rarement abordés, et lorsqu’ils sont remarqués, ils semblent être considérés plutôt comme des défenses contre les transferts parentaux. L’hypothèse de l’auteure est que la transmission de cet évitement le long de l’histoire de la psychanalyse a sa source dans le fait que Freud a découvert la règle de l’association libre pendant qu’il traitait Emmy von N…, patiente qui venait avec un fantasme fraternel d’allure traumatique. Ainsi, le germe même de la dissymétrie de l’association libre dans la méthode psychanalytique pourrait être imprégné d’un tel fantasme fraternel, ensemble avec l’évitement, chez l’analyste, d’une régression vers le traitement « préhistorique » par l’intermédiaire de la suggestion.

En psychanalyse, le complexe fraternel n’a été reconnu que tardivement comme un véritable organisateur de la vie psychique, au même titre que le complexe d’Œdipe. Il met en évidence le travail psychique nécessaire à l’élaboration des difficultés qui surgissent dans les relations entre frères et sœurs, réels ou imaginaires, au sein du triangle « ma fratrie, mes parents et moi ». Le complexe fraternel prend une forme qui dépend du niveau auquel le sujet a accès à l’objet et de la manière dont il s’entrecroise avec son complexe d’Œdipe. On peut penser que l’issue du complexe fraternel détermine les relations que le sujet est capable d’établir avec ses pairs.

L’étude des relations fraternelles a été longtemps négligée mais connaît un essor depuis les vingt dernières années encore que la plupart des travaux concernent les fratries ayant vécu des traumatismes. La création artistique a bien souvent été étudié du point de vue intrapsychique et la fratrie des artistes peu concernés dans la création. Ce travail de thèse vise plusieurs objectifs : étudier les processus de la création artistique articulé aux identifications, la transmission psychique et les fantasmes dans la création artistique. Nous cherchons à considérer la dimension groupale et pas seulement les alliances privilégiées qui s’établissent au sein d’une fratrie. La création artistique a été pensée à partir du concept freudien de sublimation mais en tant qu’un phénomène intersubjectif ; et l’œuvre d’art comme une construction située dans l’aire transitionnelle. Cette étude fait travailler l’hypothèse que le lien fraternel pourrait être le moteur de la création pour un ou plusieurs enfants. Ceci, en partant du présupposé que, si le sujet de l’inconscient est indissociable du sujet du lien (Kaës, 2008), on peut présumer que, parfois, les relations fraternelles/sororales affectent la production artistique et jouent un rôle dans l’organisation du lien adelphique. La méthodologie a ciblé des artistes contemporains de tout âge, ayant une fratrie (avec ou sans cohabitation) et qui développent un travail artistique. Le matériel clinique a été recueilli par écrit via des auto-questionnaires et oralement lors des entretiens semi-directifs. Parfois les œuvres des artistes ont enrichit le protocole de recherche. Les résultats ont démontré comment la création artistique et la sublimation peuvent être pensés à partir d’une logique interpsychique

O estudo das relações entre irmãos foi negligenciado por muito tempo, mas tem crescido nos últimos vinte anos, embora a maior parte do trabalho diga respeito à irmãos que sofreram traumas. A criação artística tem sido frequentemente estudada do ponto de vista intrapsíquico e os irmãos de artistas pouco envolvidos na criação. Esta tese tem vários objetivos: estudar os processos de criação artística articulados com identificações, transmissão psíquica e fantasias na criação artística. Procuramos considerar a dimensão grupal e não apenas as alianças privilegiadas que se estabelecem entre irmãos. A criação artística foi pensada a partir do conceito freudiano de sublimação, mas como um fenômeno intersubjetivo; e a obra de arte como construção localizada na área de transição.Este estudo parte da hipótese de que o laço fraterno pode ser o motor da criação de um ou mais filhos. Isso, partindo do pressuposto de que, se o sujeito do inconsciente é indissociável do sujeito do vínculo (Kaës, 2008), podemos supor que, por vezes, as relações fraternas/sororais afetam a produção artística e desempenham um papel na organização do laço fraterno.A metodologia tem como público-alvo artistas contemporâneos de todas as idades, com irmãos (com ou sem convivência) e que estejam desenvolvendo trabalhos artísticos. O material clínico foi coletado por escrito por meio de auto questionários e oralmente por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Ce travail de recherche explore les processus de liaisons conduisant à l’émergence des liens fraternels dans les groupes thérapeutiques et les groupes de formation. A partir d’une approche psychanalytique, nous cherchons à définir le fraternel en tenant compte des trois espaces intra-, inter- et trans- subjectifs. Les études menées au sujet des liens familiaux nous permettent de postuler que la fratrie peut servir de modèle pour décrire les processus groupaux par lesquels des liens fraternels se tissent entre des enfants qui ne sont pas familiers. Dans une première partie, les propositions théoriques exposées sont illustrées par différents objets culturels tels que des mythes et des contes. Dans une deuxième partie, nos hypothèses sont mises à l’épreuve des dispositifs de groupes de formation à l’université et d’un dispositif de groupe thérapeutique. Le traitement des observations à l’aide de « la méthode des quatre colonnes » permet d’explorer notre matériel clinique de recherche. D’une façon transitoire, nous avons vu apparaître quatre registres différents du processus de liaisons conduisant à la formation de liens fraternels. Ces registres sont organisés par des mécanismes inconscients. Ils mettent en jeu des fantasmes originaires et les défenses psychiques présidant une transition des registres archaïques vers un registre intermédiaire puis un registre fraternel. Dans une troisième partie, nos hypothèses sont discutées sur trois niveaux (culturel, théorique et clinique) et reprises pour définir les quatre registres des liens fraternels dans les différents dispositifs de groupe
The presented research explores the processes of links leading to the emergence of fraternal bonds in therapeutic groups and training groups. From a psychoanalytic approach, we seek to place the issue in a fraternal definition which takes into account the intra-, inter- and trans- subjective space. Drawing on studies of family ties, we postulated that siblings can serve as a model for describing group processes by which fraternal links forged between children who are not familiar. In the first part, exposed theoretical propositions are first compared to the results of analyzes made upon different cultural objects such as myths and tales. In the second part, our hypotheses are tested by a setting of groups of university training and a therapeutic group. Treatment of observations using "the method of the four columns" allows the exploration of our clinical research material. On a transitional basis, we saw the emergence of four different registers of the process of connections leading to the formation of fraternal ties. These records are organized by unconscious mechanisms. These involve primal fantasies and psychic defenses presiding over a transition of archaic records towards an intermediate register and finally to a fraternal register

La clinique témoigne, et ce dans pratiquement toutes les histoires de patients de quelque chose ayant à voir avec le fraternel comme d’un point d’ancrage ou de naufrage à cet autre semblable, cet intime autre, ni père, ni mère, dont l’intense proximité ne peut pas ne pas avoir laissé traces. La genèse, la mythologie et la littérature regorgent également de récits mettant en scène des histoires fraternelles pleines de bruit et de fureur au sein desquelles la nature tragique et conflictuelle de ce lien émerge de façon manifeste. Bien loin de l’idéal fraternel et des notions de fraternité qui nous sont chères, nous touchons là au cœur des fantasmes rivalitaires les plus primaires. Paradoxalement la psychanalyse se fait très discrète quant à l’organisation psychique et la place des problématiques incestuelles et fusionnelles caractéristiques de ce lien. De ce double constat, d’un fraternel très bruyant auquel fait pendant une psychanalyse très silencieuse, est née la tentative d’élucider et de comprendre ce mystérieux complexe fraternel, si souvent dénié ou méprisé, afin de le restituer au rang d’un complexe authentique et singulier. Nous envisageons pour ce faire de déployer ce complexe de façon conceptuelle, dans son articulation à l’Œdipe et au sein d’une organisation non plus triangulaire classique mais d’une quadrangulation œdipo-fraternelle. Ce modèle théorique à quatre sommets, dont la fonction principale est d’œuvrer à l’acquisition d’un moi oscillant entre l’alter et l’ego sans jamais s’y confondre, offre également la possibilité d’envisager la clinique sous l’angle élargi aux relations horizontales fraternelles au sein de l’appareil psychique
The clinical evidence, in practically all patient histories even remotely related to sibling relationships either as a wreck or as a mooring point, designates this other, this intimate peer, neither father nor mother, whose intense proximity could not but have left traces. Genesis, mythology and literature abound with stories featuring brotherly love, full of sound and fury, from which the evidence of tragic and conflictual nature of this relationship emerges. Far from the ideals of brotherhood and fraternity that we hold dear, we are touching here the heart of the most primal competitive fantasms. Paradoxically, psychoanalysis is almost silent about the impact on the psychic organization and the overall significance of these fratricidal, incestuous and fusional issues characteristic of the relationships between siblings. This study was born from the double observations of multiform, cacophonous sibling relationships and silent psychoanalysis, in order to elucidate and understand the mysterious fraternal complex, so often denied or despised, in order to restore it to the rank of a complex that is both authentic and singular. We attempted here to conceptually dissect this complex and to define its articulation around the Oedipus within an organization that is not based on the classic triangular relationship but instead is an œdipo-fraternal quadrangulation. This theoretical model with four apexes provides an opportunity to incorporate in clinical practice, within the overall psychic apparatus, expanded horizontal sibling relationships whose main function is striving towards the acquisition of a self, oscillating between the alter and the ego without ever confusing them

Abstract:
Notre recherche nous a conduit à tenter de comprendre ce qui se joue dans les thérapies d'enfants en groupe de psychodrame. Au regard de notre pratique dans un Centre Médico-Psycho-Pédagogique (C. M. P. P) auprès d'enfants âgés de 9 à 12 ans présentant principalement une inhibition scolaire, voire un échec, sans déficit intellectuel, il nous est apparu que la présence d'autres enfants étaient une source d'expériences nouvelles et de remaniements psychiques importants. Notre hypothèse a privilégié l'axe horizontal en nous centrant sur le complexe fraternel. Notre propos n'était pas d'en approfondir un aspect spécifique mais de mettre à l'épreuve la pertinence de ce complexe et sa fulgurante figuration dans les thérapies d'enfants en groupe. Ce concept épouvantait tant il semblait pouvoir ébranler les assisses du complexe nucléaire fondateur. Depuis peu en France le lien fraternel est considéré comme objet d'étude à part entière. Les repères posés par Freud, Lacan, Klein se sont avérés des plus opérants. Les cinq histoires cliniques et les huit vignettes de cette recherche nous ont permis de mettre en valeur l'immense intérêt du complexe fraternel en montrant combien la pathologie de certains enfants s'originait dans cette formation inconsciente. Les liens latéraux ne pouvant se réduire à des liens fraternels, nous fûmes amenés à dégager et définir les liens spécifiques entre pairs que nous avons nommés: liens de pairage. Nous avons alors pu observer l'importance clinique de ces liens. En effet, les pairs servent tantôt de supports projectifs à travers des revenants fraternels, tantôt de supports identificatoires à travers des liens de pairage. Les liens de pairage soignent. Nous avons pu vérifier que les liens de pairage aident à enclencher le processus de séparation/individuation et le processus de dégagement. Les groupes thérapeutiques ne sont pas au service de l' Œdipe mais jouent le rôle de "passeur entre Narcisse et Œdipe".

Le relevé de ces traces et de l'évolution de ces patients nous permet de poser l'hypothèse que certains actes criminels seraient commis à des moments où l'ombre de cette rivalité empreinte de cruauté menacerait à nouveau le sujet
What is the relationship between the fraternal bond (the fraternal complex as defined by R. Kaës) and the crime committed? Could there be this connection and the nature of the criminal acts? In the content as well as in the events and in the transferential movements of the therapy of patients who are perpetrators of criminal acts (facts which we will have to specify or define in part 1 of our work), we can note the imprint of a fraternal rivalry dominated by cruelty. The recording of these traces and the evolution of these patients allows us to hypothesize that certain criminal acts would be committed at times when the shadow of this rivalry of cruelty would threaten the subject again

La recherche concerne l'actualisation et le développement d'une épreuve clinique d'évaluation psychologique - le test 'les aventures de pattenoire' (corman, 1961). peu de travaux théoriques sont consacrés à cette épreuve, bien que largement utilisée par les psychologues ; elle n'a pas non plus été revue à la lumière de nouvelles approches en psychologie projective développées depuis sa création. toutefois on estime que ce test psychologique peut être particulièrement pertinent pour une évaluation de la personnalité de l'enfant dans le nouveau contexte social. le travail s'articulera autour de deux axes : le premier sera consacré à l'actualisation du test 'les aventures de pattenoire' (test pn), une réflexion concernant le mode d'administration de l'épreuve et la proposition d'un nouveau mode de dépouillement et d'analyse du protocole, notamment en version informatisée. le deuxième axe de mon travail de recherche proposera l'analyse de quelques questions relatives à la construction psychique que pose la nouvelle organisation du lien social, notamment les concepts d'identité, d'identification et des relations générationnelles. ceci aura pour objectif de mettre en évidence des modifications qui surviennent aujourd'hui dans la structuration psychique, notamment chez les enfants en période oedipienne. cette analyse appuiera également les développements du test pn lui-même comme une épreuve projective particulièrement intéressante dans la clinique infantile d'aujourd'hui
The current social link mutation raises multiple issues about its impact on the subjectivity processes. Considering this we studied identity’s construction of children and teenagers, and in particular oedipal problematic and connected questions: identifications, oedipal promise and temporality. Using projective tests (drawings and « Pattenoire Test ») these processeswere investigated among 5-15 years old French children. Peer figure appeared in our results as a main identification reference and relationship with parents keeps archaic pre-oedipal nature. This horizontal link complicates the access to the difference between the generations and to the psychical temporality as well. Thus Oedipus complex « bug » troubles the development of the «transitional» capacity which gives access to the creativity. Thisphenomenon is especially evident at the teenage, when subject has now to seek for new arrangements to get out of the temporality suspended to the relationship with parents in the imaginary register

Apesar da importância do irmão na constituição do sujeito e na formação do laço social, somente por volta do ano 2000 os autores contemporâneos passaram a mostrar um interesse maior pelo estudo da relação fraterna. Grande parte desses estudos e pesquisas, entretanto, se dedica mais à competição e rivalidade do que à boa convivência e solidariedade. Em nossa revisão teórica realizada na abordagem psicanalítica, estudamos os clássicos – Freud, Klein e Adler – e prosseguimos com os autores contemporâneos, fazendo um estudo da relação fraterna, tanto em seus aspectos de disputa e de rivalidade como nos de solidariedade e de companheirismo. Focalizamos a formação da fratria, a posição na fratria, o vínculo fraterno, o complexo fraterno e o laço social. Constatamos, assim, a importância da fratria na constituição do sujeito e do laço social. Ilustramos a discussão teórica com fragmentos de casos de nossa clínica.
Despite the importance of a brother in the constitution of the subject and social bond formation, only around the year 2000 contemporary authors began to show a greater interest in studying fraternal relationships. However, a great number of these studies and research are dedicated towards competition and rivalry rather than good coexistence and solidarity. In our psychoanalytic based theoretical review, we studied classical authors – Freud, Klein and Adler – and proceeded with contemporary scholars, studying the fraternal relationship in its dispute and rivalry aspects, as well as in its solidarity and companionship elements. We focused the formation of the phratry, the position in the phratry, the fraternal bond, the fraternal complex and the social bond. We verified the importance of the phratry in the constitution of the subject and of the social bond. We illustrate the theoretical discussion with fragments of clinical cases.

The objective of this study is to clarify the twin births specificity and possible consequences either on parental imaginary or in the proper twin. It is an unusual situation, where one ovule is divided in two, causing, then, the creation of two identical human beings: exactly the same sanguineous group, physical enzymes, proteins, physical characteristics and pathological trends: human being in duplicate. This situation represents another challenge for the parents in the performance of maternity and paternity proper tasks. The double births guide them to life mysteries - the reproduction and the intrauterine space. When parents stand out the equal equalities in their choices of similar names, clothes and toys, actually they are denying the pair, considering them as if they were only one such attitudes lead to future consequences For the proper twin, it represents one more difficulty related to the achievement of a unique and singular identity, since they mutually follow themselves, without being illusion or hallucination. As a result they face some questions: Which are the consequences of living in the privacy of the identical and having to compose and recognize themselves as exterior and different? How to obtain a proper place in their parents desire, the family and later in the social environment, in spite of the false recognizing and the confusions of all, incapable of a steady differentiation? This present study is based on the thought of Sigmund Freud and other psychoanalyst authors, as, Otto Rank, André Green, Jacques Lacan, René Kaes, Joyce McDougall, Eduardo Braier, Beatriz Salzberg, Bernard Tanis, Renato Mezan, Maria Rita Kehl and others who contribute for the clarification of the questions involving twins: the specular images, the shadows, spirits, the idea of soul, the strange question about the double and identical, the narcissism experience and the fraternity complex. The used method is the conceptual analysis of the selected texts and clinical material placed in discussion and it has the Psychoanalyst Clinic as elementary and purpose
Esta dissertação procura esclarecer a especificidade dos nascimentos gemelares e possíveis conseqüências tanto no imaginário parental quanto dos próprios gêmeos. Trata-se de uma situação não-habitual onde um óvulo se divide em dois ocasionando, então, a formação de dois seres em tudo idênticos: mesmo grupo sanguíneo, enzimas, proteínas, características físicas e tendências patológicas: seres em duplicatas. Para os pais representa um desafio a mais no desempenho das tarefas próprias da maternidade e paternidade. Os nascimentos duplos os colocam frente aos mistérios da vida, da reprodução, e do espaço intrauterino. Quando os pais ressaltam as igualdades nas escolhas de nomes similares, roupas e brinquedos iguais, na verdade estariam negando a dupla, tratando-os como se fossem uma coisa só atitudes plenas de conseqüências para o futuro. Para os próprios gêmeos representa uma dificuldade a mais no sentido da aquisição de identidade única e singular uma vez que os gêmeos se acompanham mutuamente sem ser ilusão ou alucinação. Assim eles são defrontados com algumas questões: Quais as conseqüências de viver na intimidade do idêntico e ter que se constituir e se reconhecer como exterior e diferente?; Como conseguir um lugar próprio no desejo dos pais, na família e depois no social, apesar dos falsos reconhecimentos e das confusões de todos incapazes de uma diferenciação estável? O presente estudo investigou o processo de tornar-se mãe de um segundo filho, da gestação ao segundo ano de vida da criança. Especificamente, buscou-se compreender o impacto do “complexo fraterno” nesse processo. Participaram do estudo quatro mães, com idades entre 33 e 34 anos, contatadas no terceiro trimestre de gestação. Todas residiam com o marido, pai dos dois filhos, na região metropolitana de Porto Alegre e o nível socioeconômico das famílias variou de médio a alto. A pesquisa teve um delineamento de estudo de casos coletivo, em que cada caso foi investigado longitudinalmente, em quatro períodos: na gestação, aos 6, aos 12 e aos 24 meses do segundo filho. Os dados foram obtidos através de entrevistas individuais, estruturadas, aplicadas de forma semi-dirigida. Os relatos das mães foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo qualitativa. As categorias que guiaram a análise foram: as impressões sobre o tornar-se mãe de um segundo filho, expectativas e relação com o segundo filho, relação com a própria mãe e relação com o marido. Foram apresentadas as particularidades e semelhanças entre os casos. Os resultados foram discutidos a partir do referencial psicanalítico e de teorizações derivadas do campo da psicologia do desenvolvimento. Notaramse mudanças ao longo do processo de tornar-se mãe de um segundo filho, que acompanharam o desenvolvimento tanto da criança quanto da própria mãe. Mesmo com o respaldo da experiência anterior, a ideia que o segundo seria mais fácil foi sendo revista, ao longo do desenvolvimento do segundo filho. A criação gradativa de espaço para mais uma criança constituiu-se num desafio que se deu paralelo ao desenvolvimento rumo à independência do segundo filho. As mães recorreram a muitas comparações entre os filhos, antes de poderem identificar e aceitar a singularidade de cada um. Em paralelo, a relação com a própria mãe passou por uma reorganização com a chegada do segundo filho. Houve aproximação entre ambas, que possibilitou uma reavaliação do modelo materno e da própria identidade das participantes como mães. A relação com o marido foi marcada pelo apoio, em especial, nos cuidados do primogênito, durante o período investigado. O “complexo fraterno” revelou-se como um importante conceito para se compreender processos evolutivos no tornar-se mãe de um segundo filho.
The present study investigated the process of becoming a mother of a second child, from pregnancy to the second child´s second year of life. More specifically, the study aimed to understand the impact of the “fraternal complex” in this process. Four mothers, aged 33 to 34, were contacted in the third trimester of pregnancy. They all lived with their husbands, who were the fathers of both children, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. The families’ socioeconomic level varied from medium to high. The research was based on a collective-case study design, in which each case was investigated longitudinally, in four periods: during pregnancy, at the child’s 6, 12 and 24 months of life. Data were obtained from individual, semistructured interviews and were submitted to qualitative content analysis. The categories which guided the analysis were: impressions on becoming a mother of a second child, expectations and relationship with the second child, relationship with their own mothers and relationship with the father. The cases’ similarities and particularities were presented. The results were discussed based on the psychoanalytic framework and theorizations derived from the developmental psychology field. Some changes could be identified alongside the process of becoming a mother of a second child, wich followed both the child’s and the mother’s development. Despite the previous experience, the idea that the second child would be easier was revised alongside the second child’s development. The gradual creation of a space for one more child was a challenge that followed the second child’s development towards independence. Mothers recurred to many comparisons between the children before they could identify and accept each one’s singularity. At the same time, mothers’ relationship with their own mothers also went through a reorganization with the arrival of the second child. The proximity between them increased and enabled a reassessment of the maternal role and of their own identity as mothers. The relationship with their husbands was characterized by support, especially as far as firstborn care during the period investigated is concerned. The “fraternal complex” revealed itself as an important concept for understanding developmental processes in the process of becoming a mother of a second child.

The Hesiodic view of the supernatural varies within individual compositions, in tune with oral-traditional poetic practice. The flexibility and dramatization inherent in the medium led ancient philosophers to treat Hesiod and Homer as deficient “theology.” Taken as religious fictions, with attention to their diction and devices, the Hesiodic poems are distinct from the Homeric in orientation toward and expressions about the divine world. The Theogony frames itself as a praise poem to Zeus but must downplay the self-interested character of such compositions. Zeus’s sovereignty is depicted in diachronic terms as wisely integrating earlier powers. The Works and Days deals synchronically with the upshot of the world-shaping Prometheus and Pandora complex, projecting onto the mythic level its tale of contemporary fraternal strife and advice for living under a regime of divine justice.

Abstract Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) was first recognized as a genetic condition by Kirpicznik in 1910. He reported a family with affected individuals in three generations and described the condition in identical and fraternal twins. Earlier studies had noted that the facial lesions of TSC, erroneously called “adenoma sebaceum,” were inherited in families. Berg, in 1913, re ported that TSC was hereditary. Gunther and Penrose first brought attention to the dominant inheritance pattern and were also first to suggest a high mutation rate as causal in TSC.

Abstract Joseph Babinski’s public image, already positive during his career, retains an international impact 150 years after his death. Although this recognition concerns mainly the Babinski sign, which accounts for more than half of the bibliographical references, the fraternal dedication and culinary talents of his brother, which form an integral part of his life story, are reflected as well. 9ere is still some mystery concerning his private life, his father’s revolutionary activities, the exotic countries where his father and brother spent several years, and even the exceptional gourmet qualities of Ali-Bab. Too, the authenticity of many anecdotes involving Babinski is sometimes di4cult to confirm. To try to develop a more complete picture of how he is remembered, we can look at the contents of o4cial speeches, the hagiographic writings of his pupils, commemorative celebrations, the mention he receives in encyclopedias and history books, and sites named after him.

Abstract:
The Lower Carboniferous rocks in the Irish Orefield and Red Dog district are host to some of the highest value Zn deposits in the geological record. A comparison of different mineral system components (geodynamic setting, (basin) architecture, fluid flow drivers, and depositional mechanisms) between the two districts reveals there are perhaps more similarities than differences. These include the complex accretionary evolution of the underlying basement terranes, ore fluid chemistry, common age of the mineralization for some of the deposits (331 – 346Ma), timing of mineralization relative to host rock deposition (syndiagenetic), highly productive depositional environment, and contribution of bacteriogenic sulphur to the metal trap. Key differences correspond with the different host rocks (siliciclastic dominant vs. carbonate dominant) and diagenetic assemblages (barite vs. dolomite) in either district, rather than reflecting fundamentally different ore forming processes.
