Abstract:
Value-form is a theory Marx first developed in Capital vol.1 to solve the mystery of money. He seemed convinced that he had finally solved the mystery of money by reducing the money-form to the general value-form. However, his explanation of the transition from the latter to the former with the phrase ‘by social custom’ is not satisfactory. I consider that, as long as a logical derivation of the money-form from the general value-form is unsuccessful, the mystery of money is not yet completely solved. I attempt first to rehabilitate the simple value-form, comparing it with real value expression in price (money-form), emphasizing the distinction between the expression of value and the measure of value, and the asymmetry of the value-form. Thereby, I explain that Marx’s complicated exposition of the value-form stems from his postulate of the labor substance of value in the first chapter of Capital vol.1, which can be proved and developed later in the production process of capital. Rehabilitation of the value-form can expose a fundamental difference between the general value-form and the money-form, and provide a logical derivation of the money-form. To achieve this aim, it is necessary to reformulate the logical structure of the theory of commodity based on the concept ‘the world of commodities’, which comes to appear more frequently as Marx’s theory of value-form advances.

Abstract:
AbstractThis paper critically examines I.I. Rubin's Essays on Marx's Theory of Value and argues that two different approaches to value theory can be found in that book: a more 'production-centred' value-form theory uneasily co-exists with a 'circulationist' perspective. This unresolved tension, the authors claim, reflects a more general theoretical shortcoming in Rubin's work, namely, a problematic conceptualisation of the inner connection between materiality and social form that eventually leads to a formalist perspective on the value-form. Furthermore, the paper argues that all those antinomies are an expression of the historical and political context underlying Rubin's work, in which Marxism was being codified as state ideology. The political implications of Rubin's formalism are explored through the critical examination of its consequences for the comprehension of the social determinations of the revolutionary subjectivity of the working class.

Abstract:
This study discusses the exploration of form, function, and value of Buginese utterance of Bone society. This study aims at discovering, exploring, and explaining the form, function, and value Buginese utterance of Bone society. This study theoretically could be used by scientists to utilize the results of this research as new insights and materials for further studies of oral literature of Buginese society in Bone. The results showed that the utterance of Buginese society in Bone has six forms namely, proverbs, parables, sayings, metaphor, irony, and idioms. The Buginese utterance of Bone society has four functions, namely educative function, the personal ethics function, moral function, and social function. It has three values, namely religious, philosophical, ethical values. Religious value contains the value of the recognition of God and recognition of the good destiny and fate. Philosophical value contains the value of man as a creature of God, man as a personal being, and human beings as social creatures. Ethical value contains the value of ethics against God, against oneself ethics, and ethics of fellow human beings.

Abstract:
In this paper we describe a novel approach to team formation based on the value of inter-agent interactions. Specifically, we propose a model of teamwork that considers outcomes from chains of interactions between agents. Based on our model, we devise a number of network metrics to capture the contribution of interactions between agents. This is then used to learn the value of teamwork from historical team performance data. We apply our model to predict team performance and validate our approach using real-world team performance data from the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Our model is shown to better predict the real-world performance of teams by up to 46% compared to models that ignore inter-agent interactions.

Abstract:
AbstractChris Arthur's approach aims at a systematic re-ordering of Marx's categories. This article argues that his approach is actually a different ordering of different categories that are positioned within a specific theoretical whole, a Hegelian re-interpretation of Marx and especially of abstract labour, which distances itself from Marx. While the debate has focused mainly on the philosophical aspects of Arthur's work, its economic features have not been the object of a systematic analysis. Yet, a full assessment of the 'New Dialectics' should include explicitly a systematic internal critique of its economic dimensions. The aim of this article is to assess the internal consistency of the economic ramifications of the 'New Dialectics'. The focus is on the notions of abstract labour, concrete labour, and exploitation. Arthur's faithfulness to Marx, or correspondence to Marx's quotations, is not the criterion used to assess the 'New Dialectics'. Rather, the criterion is whether it (a) discovers logical inconsistencies in Capital and (b) is itself free from inconsistencies. The answer is negative in both cases.

Abstract:
This paper studies a procedural and axiomatic extension of the consensus value [cf. Ju et al. (2007)] to the class of partition function form games. This value is characterized as the unique function that satisfies efficiency, complete symmetry, the quasi-null player property and additivity. By means of the transfer property, a second characterization is provided. Moreover, it is shown that the consensus value satisfies individual rationality under a superadditivity condition, and well balances the tradeoff between coalitional effects and externality effects. In this respect, explicit differences with other solution concepts are indicated.
