Abstract:
In his brilliant studies and accurate editions Anthony Newcomb has shown Alfonso Fontanelli’s contributions to the definition of “the new Ferrarese style of the 1590s” and, therefore, to the birth of the seconda pratica. My article focuses on a specific aspect of Fontanelli’s polyphonic writing: the handling of cadences for not only syntactical and tonally structural but also expressive purposes. The literary-musical analyses of some of the most representative settings published in Fontanelli’s two books of madrigals (1595 and 1604)—including masterpieces such as “Tu miri, o vago ed amoroso fiore” (Anonymous), “Io piango, ed ella il volto” (Petrarca), “Lasso, non odo più Filli mia cara” (Anonymous), and “Dovrò dunque morire” (Rinuccini)—shows, above all, the unusually wide range of Fontanelli’s cadential palette. He used not only traditional models (such as the perfect, authentic, Phrygian, and half cadences) but also a great variety of alternative solutions (including what Newcomb has named “evaporated” and “oblique” cadences) that are often so experimental and bold as to escape rigid classification. In the context of a basically chromatic, dissonant, harmonically restless, and tonally unfocused polyphonic flow such cadential variety seems to reflect Fontanelli’s intention not only to underscore the conceptual and emotional meanings represented in the verbal text but also to sharpen their large-scale affective contrasts. In these and other experimental traits of his “cadential style” Fontanelli further developed (possibly through the mediation of Jacques de Wert, and also under the influence of composers such as Luzzaschi and Gesualdo) those basic compositional techniques and exegetic principles that Cipriano de Rore, the real father of the seconda pratica, had already established in his later madrigals, and that Vincenzo Galilei, in turn, had neatly codified in his treatise on counterpoint (ca. 1588–1591).

Abstract:
The study seeks to unearth parental anxiety of perceived disorder and application of concoctions on infant pulsating anterior fontanelle in the Tamale metropolis, Ghana. Pulsation of the anterior fontanelle though a physiological reality of all infants, causes anxiety on the part of parents for fear of the infant suffering some form of harm as a result. A qualitative study which employed the narrative realities of mothers, delving into mothers’ beliefs on the physiologic functionality of the anterior fontanelle and perceived treatment mode commonly employed by mothers. The study revealed that mothers do not have any scientific reason behind the belief system for the application of concoctions on the pulsating anterior fontanelles of their infants. Consequently, the author recommends that the Ghana Health Service, the Teaching Hospitals, and the Municipal and District Health authorities should embark on serious health education on the essence of the fontanelle and demystify some cultural or traditional belief systems around pulsation of the anterior fontanelle. The application of concoctions on infant pulsating fontanelles is just not based on scientific principles known to the people, but it is perceptively done out of fear of the unknown.

Abstract:
Abstract This article proposes an intervallic approach to classifying and interpreting sixteenth-century chromaticism. The approach is based on a distinction between active leading tones, which imply resolution by diatonic semitone, and stable notes, which do not. This distinction underlies a dyadic approach to categorizing contrapuntal uses of chromatic semitones, providing an alternative to prevalent classifications by interval of triadic root or bass motion. The article distinguishes three chromatic semitone types: (1) normative/expressive, (2) chromatically deflected leading tones, and (3) chromatically thwarted leading tones. For each type, the article discusses representative examples drawn from motets and madrigals by Orlando di Lasso, Giaches de Wert, Luca Marenzio, Luzzasco Luzzaschi, Alfonso Fontanelli, and Carlo Gesualdo, and considers how the chromatic semitones express the poetic texts.

Abstract:
Introduction: The fontanels are soft membrane covered gaps and the meeting of more than two cranial bones placed side by side. There are six fontanels, of which anterior fontanel is most prominent. We tried to determine the anterior fontanel dimension of the neonates of different gestational age. This in turn will help in diagnosing newborns with serious medical conditions and ensuring their prompt care. Objectives: Estimation of neonatal anterior fontanel area, for use in neonatal screening. Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital with 530 consecutively live born new born of 28 -41 weeks gestation. After three days of life anterior fontanel area was measured. The values were summarized using descriptive statistics, including percentile values. Results: In index study, we deducted anterior fontanel dimensions of newborns of gestational age ranging from 28 to 41 weeks. The mean anterior fontanel size was 3.20 ± 1.71. Anterior fontanel variation with gestational age showed that anterior fontanel area increases with increase in gestational age. However, another study with greater number of participants and in a community setting may be helpful. Conclusion: Anterior fontanel area can be used as a tool for identifying newborns with grave ailments. Abnormal fontanel measurement can be either large or small anterior fontanel. These are associated with many important consequences. Detecting them early will help in seeking appropriate medical guidance.

Abstract:
Paraules clau: barroc, giletes, poesia amorosa, Francesc Fontanella, imitacions. Abstract: Francesc Fontanella wrote 77 love poems dedicated to Gileta. The group of poems called giletes (because of the name of the pseudonym of the lady) became one of the most copied parts of his literary production in manuscripts and in printed materials; in some of the unitarian manuscripts they even have their own cover. The imitations of the anonymous authors who are specifically inspired by the work of Fontanella also prove the cultural impact of the poems to Gileta. These imitations have been copied in several manuscripts and they represent, from different points of view, the legacy of the Barcelonan baroque poet in the Catalan literature. Keywords: baroque, giletes, love poetry, Francesc Fontanella, imitations.

Abstract:
This text explains the characteristics of Acre's educational policy (1999-2010) and its impact on state capacity and equity. The conception of public policy was based on Arretche (1998) and Palumbo (1989). To characterize the policy, interviews were carried out with implementing agents in 2014, data treated by content analysis. State capacity was defined based on Souza (2017), Souza and Fontanelli (2020) and Gomide and Boschi (2016). In order to verify equity, in the light of Fraser (2007) and Dubet (2008) we analyzed: policy strategies and the evolution of enrollment of indigenous and rural populations; and Saeb student proficiency data from 1999, 2005, and 2011 by gender, race, and social class, based on Crahay (2000). The characteristics of the policy include: i) Organization and planning; ii) guarantee of basic operating conditions; iii) coordination of pedagogical practices; iv) meeting the needs of population diversity and strengthening local identities; v) negotiation processes. These characteristics indicate the expansion of state capacity in Acre in the period. Strategies supported by principles of recognition justice favoring excluded populations. Analysis of student proficiency differences between social groups indicates broadening gender equity.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVEAnterior fontanel size and closure time can be useful clinical signs for the early diagnosis of diseases. Knowing age-related normal variations is important to decide on further investigations. The authors of this study aimed to describe fontanel size variation according to age, determine fontanel closure time, and identify the optimal method for assessing fontanel size.METHODSFor this prospective cohort study, 321 healthy term babies who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were consecutively recruited. Percentile charts for the mean anterior fontanel size and oblique measurements from birth to 24 months of age were created.RESULTSThe mean fontanel closure time was 9.7 ± 5.0 months (girls 10.3 ± 4.7 months, boys 9.2 ± 5.1 months). No differences were observed between the traditional method and oblique measurements. Early fontanel closure was not associated with microcephaly.CONCLUSIONSOblique measurements can be used because they are as accurate as the traditional method. Children with fontanels measuring above the 95th percentile should be monitored closely and investigated further for potentially associated diseases.

Abstract:
Helmet therapy is an important nonsurgical approach for patients with nonsynostotic plagiocephaly, but its effectiveness may depend on certain anatomical features. We retrospectively examined the effects of helmet therapy according to the size of the anterior fontanelle. Two hundred patients with nonsynostotic plagiocephaly who underwent helmet therapy between 2016 and 2018 were included. Data regarding age at treatment onset and treatment duration were collected. Patients were divided into two groups depending on the age at treatment initiation: the 12–23 weeks group and the >23 weeks group. Patients were also divided based on the anterior fontanelle size to analyze the effects of helmet therapy according to the severity of plagiocephaly in each group as the change in the cranial vault asymmetry index (CVAI). Therapeutic effects were evaluated using the cranial vault asymmetry (CVA), CVAI, anterior symmetry ratio, posterior symmetry ratio (PSR), and overall symmetry ratio at baseline and treatment completion. Treatment initiation at age 12–23 weeks resulted in better effects than that after age 24 weeks. There were no sex-dependent differences in therapeutic effects. Greater changes in the CVA, CVAI, and PSR were associated with larger anterior fontanelles. Therefore, the anterior fontanelle size could be a prognostic factor for estimating helmet therapy outcomes.

AbstractObjective:To establish whether nasal bony landmarks on computed tomography could be utilised reliably in endoscopic approaches to the sphenopalatine foramen. Methods:A prospective analysis of 102 consecutive helical computed tomography scans of the paranasal sinuses was carried out by 2 senior ENT surgeons. Distances from the sphenopalatine foramen to endoscopically palpable bony landmarks were measured. Results:There were a total of 102 patients (45 females and 57 males), with a mean age of 62 years. The mean distance from the posterior fontanelle to the sphenopalatine foramen was 14.1 mm (standard deviation = 2.13). The average vertical distance of the sphenopalatine foramen opening from the bony attachment of the inferior turbinate was 14.13 mm. There were no statistically significant differences between any of these measurements (foramen widthp-value = 0.714, distance from fontanellep-value = 0.43 and distance from inferior turbinatep-value = 0.48).Conclusion:Determination of reliable bony landmarks is clinically useful in endoscopic surgery and can aid identification of the sphenopalatine foramen. The inferior turbinate concha and posterior fontanelle may be used as reliable computed tomography landmarks for endoscopic approaches to the sphenopalatine foramen.

Abstract:
Abstract BACKGROUND: We previously introduced a novel noninvasive technique of intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring in children with open fontanelles. OBJECTIVE: To compare the ICP obtained by our new technique to the ICP derived from an intradurally implanted ICP measurement device (external ventricular drain, subdural ICP device). METHODS: Children with open fontanelles and need of intracranial monitoring were included in this study. A standard ICP probe was placed upon the frontal fontanelle and data were compared with the values recorded by an already invasively implanted subdural ICP technique. The 2 methods of ICP measurement were evaluated using the correlation coefficient, Bland and Altman method and method comparison by Carstensen. RESULTS: Five children under the age of 1 year with an open frontal fontanelle were included in this study. Three were male and 2 were female. Mean age was 7 months. A total of 139 pairs of measurements were assessed. Mean transfontanelle ICP was 7.6 mm Hg. Mean ICP measured subdurally was 5.4 mm Hg. The correlation analysis showed a correlation coefficient of 0.7. The Bland-Altman plot revealed a good accuracy of the new method with >95% of the values within the limits of agreement. An additional method comparison analysis confirmed the finding of accurate ICP measurements between both applied methods. CONCLUSION: The noninvasive transfontanelle ICP monitoring method displayed a high validity and reliability as proven by correlation analysis. This novel technique might therefore be an interesting and promising tool for noninvasive ICP monitoring in children. But further research is necessary to evaluate the accuracy of this technique in children with elevated ICP.

Abstract:
Abstract Background and aims : Anterior fontanelle development in children is affected by several factors ranging from physical to geographical. While the impact of factors such as gestational age (GA) and gender are clearly established, the influences of region and ethnicity vary in the published literature. The objectives of the study were: 1. To measure the anterior fontanelle size (AFS) and closure time of babies aging from newborn to two years of age in respect to its gender and term status in Nagpur babies. 2. To evaluate the relationship of our fmdings with growth parameters. Methods : Measurements were done on 808 babies according to Popich and Smith method. Measurements on newborn were done after 48 hours of birth. Z-test of significance and Pearson's correlation coefficient are used for analysis. Results : Mean AFS ranged from 4.95±2.15 to 0.94±0.05 cms in preterm babies and 4.24±2.21 to 1.32±0.21 cms in full term babies. Mean AFS ranging from 4.48±2.26 to 1.31±0.22 and 4.02±2.20 to 1.24±0.13 cms were observed in male and female babies respectively. Study revealed no significant difference in AFS between full term and preterm & male and female babies. Around 20% fontanels are closed around sixth month. Less than 1% fontanels were open around 22-24 months. No significant difference in closure time was found. AF size had significant correlation with growth parameters of full term babies (weight r = - 0.37, p = 0.00) (head circumference r = - 0.30, p = 0.00) (crown heel length r = - 0.39, p = 0.00). AF closure time showed a significant relationship with growth parameters (weight r = 0.77, p = 0.00) (head circumference r = 0.72, p = 0.00) (crown heel length r = 0.85, p = 0.00). Conclusion : AF sizes obtained in this study are recommended for use as local values for reference in assessing term and preterm babies born in Nagpur.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Background This study explored the outcome of children with patent anterior fontanelles who were treated with trans-fontanelle ultrasound scan (TFUSS), which is more affordable and available than CT scan and MRI in the diagnosis of childhood intracranial pathologies and treatment of subdural empyema, in developing countries. Patients and Methods: Seventeen infants with post-meningitic subdural empyema, diagnosed using trans-fontanelle ultrasound alone and treated with subdural tapping over a 31-months period, were studied. Results: Eleven patients presented with grades II and III Bannister and William grading for level of consciousness in intracranial subdural empyema. Aspirate from 7 (41.2%) patients were sterile. The most common organisms isolated were Streptococcus faecalis 3 (17.6%), Haemophilus Influenza 2 (11.8) and Staphylococcus aureus 2 (11.8), multiple organisms were isolated in three of the patients. Ninety-four percent (94%) of the patients had good outcome. Five subjects developed hydrocephalus, one patient had a recurrence of subdural empyema, four patients had residual hemiparesis, two of the four patients had speech difficulties, while one patient (~6%) died. Conclusion: While CT and MRI remain the gold standard for investigating intracranial lesions, transfontanelle ultrasonography is adequate for diagnosis of infantile subdural empyema in resource-challenged areas. Percutaneous subdural tap is an affordable and effective therapy in such patients with financial challenges.

Abstract:
Abstract The only study of the osteology of the toad genus Oreophrynella dates back to 1971 and was based on a single species. Here, we use high-resolution X-ray microcomputed tomography to analyse the osteology of all nine described Oreophrynella species, which are compared with representatives of other bufonid lineages. Oreophrynella is unique among bufonids in having opposable digits. Osteological synapomorphies confirmed for the genus are as follows: presence of parietal fontanelles and exposed frontoparietal fontanelle, absence of quadratojugal, five presacral vertebrae, distally enlarged terminal phalanges and urostyle greatly expanded into flanges. Ancestral character reconstruction indicates that arboreal habits in some Oreophrynella species are likely to have evolved after the evolution of opposable digits. Opposable digits, in combination with an extension of the interdigital integument and the relative length/orientation of the digits, are likely to be adaptations to facilitate life on rocky tepui summits and an exaptation to arboreality. Cranial simplification in Oreophrynella, in the form of cranial fontanelles and absence of the quadratojugal, is possibly driven by a reduction of developmental costs, increase in flexibility and reduction of body weight. Cranial simplification combined with the shortening of the vertebral column and the shift towards a partly firmisternal girdle might be adaptations to the peculiar tumbling behaviour displayed by Oreophrynella.

Abstract:
AbstractCentral nervous system (CNS) tumors are the most common solid tumors in children and adolescents. However, in neonates and children aged younger than a year, they are very rare. Clinical presentation in neonates is often subtle and nonspecific. When neurological symptoms are apparent at this age, cranial ultrasound (CUS) is often done as the initial evaluation, with a standard approach through the anterior fontanel (AF), followed by further imaging, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), if necessary. We report the first neonatal case of a rapidly progressive diffuse midline glioma positive for histone H3 K27M mutation (World Health Organization [WHO] grade IV) in which using extended (transmastoid) CUS studies through the mastoid fontanelle (MF) in the second month of life defined the lesion in the brainstem.

Abstract:
Background: Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) is common among preterm infants as many of them survive with the advancements in neonatal care. Severe IVH may lead to significant morbidity and mortality. The objective of our study is to find out the significant clinical signs of IVH in preterm neonate for early detection by ultrasonography. Methods: This prospective observational study was done in special care baby unit (SCABU), Bangladesh Institute of Research & rehabilitation of Diabetic, Endocrine & metabolic Disorder (BIRDEM) for a period of one year. Eighty five preterm neonates were included in this study. Clinical features of IVH like- convulsion, lethargy, irritability, bulged fontanelle, recurrent apnea, sudden onset of respiratory distress, sudden pallor and bradycardia were observed. Cranial ultrasound studies were done within 7 days of life in all cases to identify IVH.Result: Mean gestational age of these neonates was 31.31(±2.2) weeks & mean birth weight was 1413.42 (±330.55) gm. Among 85 preterm neonates 21(24.7%) developed IVH, confirmed by ultrasonography of brain. Clinical features like convulsion, bulged fontanel, repeated apnea & sudden pallor were significantly present in IVH group. Conclusion: Intraventricular Hemorrhage constitutes an important cause of morbidity and mortality in neonate. This study showed that clinical features like convulsion, bulged fontanel and sudden pallor had a significant relationship with intraventricular hemorrhage which will help for its early detection.Birdem Med J 2017; 7(3): 194-197

Abstract:
Acrocallosal syndrome is a rare autosomal recessive disorder. The prevalence of the disease is not known but fewer than 55 cases have been published since 1979. ACS is characterized by the total or partial absence of the corpus callosum, Minor craniofacial anomalies (prominent forehead, hypertelorism, short nose with anteverted nostrils and large anterior fontanel) moderate to severe psychomotor retardation (with hypotonia), polydactyly or polysyndactyly. We are reporting a case of 6 month old infant child who was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, measles, episodes of fits, large anterior fontanelle, prominent forehead, high arched palate, fused tongue, micrognathism , hypotonia, motor developmental delay , polysyndactyly and absent corpus callosum. His clinical diagnosis was confirmed by CT-Brain. The patient was managed for superimposed pneumonia and measles. He was provided with other supportive treatment as well as parental counseling, physiotherapy sessions, and multiple disciplinary approaches was undertaken for further management.

Abstract:
KBG syndrome is a neurodevelopmental autosomal dominant disorder characterized by short stature, macrodontia, developmental delay, behavioral problems, speech delay and delayed closing of fontanels. Most patients with KBG syndrome are found to have a mutation in the ANKRD11 gene or a chromosomal rearrangement involving this gene. We hereby present clinical evaluations of 23 patients aged 4 months to 26 years manifesting clinical features of KBG syndrome. Mutation analysis in the patients was performed using panel or exome sequencing and array CGH. Besides possessing dysmorphic features typical of the KBG syndrome, nearly all patients had psychomotor hyperactivity (86%), 81% had delayed speech, 61% had poor weight gain, 56% had delayed closure of fontanel and 56% had a hoarse voice. Macrodontia and a height range of −1 SDs to −2 SDs were noted in about half of the patients; only two patients presented with short stature below −3 SDs. The fact that wide, delayed closing fontanels were observed in more than half of our patients with KBG syndrome confirms the role of the ANKRD11 gene in skull formation and suture fusion. This clinical feature could be key to the diagnosis of KBG syndrome, especially in young children. Hoarse voice is a previously undescribed phenotype of KBG syndrome and could further reinforce clinical diagnosis.

Abstract:
Introduction: The parameters of fontanelle can be very reliable and helpful source to assess the internal status of hydrocephalus in early childhood. Methods and Materials: We have studied the parameters of 69 patients of hydrocephalus in early childhood to assess the status of hydrocephalus. All the patients - who were admitted in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University from January 2002 to December 2003. Results: All patients were evaluated clinically as well as with imaging study. The age range was from newborn to 12 months. There was male preponderance; male to female ratio was 2.6:1. Clinical evaluation of head and face showed 97.10% patients had open anterior fontanelle, 88.41% had apparent large head, 59.04% had presence of sunset sign. Analysis of anterior fontanelle showed 66.67% had bulged fontanelle, 30.43% had flat fontanelle and 2.90% had concave fontanelle. Evaluation of the clinical status of posterior fontanelle revealed that 23.19% had open posterior fontanelle. Among them 15.94% had bulged and 7.25% had flat fontanelle. Conclusion: By analyzing the result we found that clinical evaluation of fontanelle gives good guidance to assess the status of hydrocephalus in early childhood. Abstract:
Sonography of the posterior fontanelle is easily performed and yields exquisite details of the outline of the major structures of the posterior fossa and the tentorium. These structures are more clearly outlined through the posterior fontanelle than via the traditional anterior fontanelle approach, probably because the longitudinal axis of the sonographic beam passing through the posterior fontanelle is nearly perpendicular to the outline of the aqueduct of Sylvius, the fourth ventricle, the brain stem, the cerebellar vermis, and the tentorium. Several cases are presented briefly to illustrate the sonographic appearance of the normal and abnormal infratentorial anatomy via a posterior fontanelle approach. (J Child Neurol 1989;4:S62-S67).

Abstract:
Transient bulging fontanelle is a self-limiting clinical condition characterized by a bulging fontanelle with or without fever, which resolves without medical intervention. It is a relatively uncommon adverse event following immunization. We report a case of an 11 week old, otherwise healthy male infant who presented with a bulging, nontense anterior fontanelle without fever, which developed 11 hours after receiving rotavirus vaccine. Transfontanelle ultrasound scan findings were essentially normal. Two days later, the bulging anterior fontanelle resolved spontaneously. The child had normal neurological development and achieved corresponding developmental milestones over the subsequent eight months of follow-up. This case report highlights the importance of immunization history in the otherwise healthy infant who presents with bulging fontanelle. We recommend that in an otherwise well recently vaccinated infant that presents with bulging anterior fontanelle, lumbar puncture should be deferred while the infant is closely monitored.

Abstract:
The material of the study was the skull of an 8-year-old girl. In the cranioscopy, the following were identified: on the right side, the bone of the sphenoid fontanel or epipteric bone; bones of lambdoid suture - on the right side in the amount of 5, on the left side -1 bone; preinterparietal bone, ospreinterparietale.By the craniometric method, the height and width of the bones were determined. The bone of the sphenoid fontanelle or epipteric bone is located between the frontal, parietal bones, the greater wing of the sphenoid bone, and the squama of the temporal bone. The width of the epipteric bone is 16.5 mm, height 9.5 mm. The bones of the lambdoid suture in the amount of 5 on the right and the 1st on the left were located in an elongated state. The largest bone was located in the middle of the right lambdoid suture; apparently, it was formed by the union of at least two Wormian bones. Preinterparietal bone has a triangular shape, the base of the triangle facing the sagittal suture, the tip, slightly rounded - in the direction of the occipital bone. The lateral angles of the preinterparietal bone are serrated, which, in principle, clearly distinguishes it from the parietal bones. The bone was single, no sutures or grooves dividing the preinterparietal bone into parts were observed. The width of the bone is 18.5 mm, height 13.8 mm.

Abstract:
Paraules clau: literatura catalana moderna; poesia barroca; epitalami; Francesc Fontanella Abstract: In ancient Greece and Rome, epithalamia acted as an erotic prelude to the wedding night. In Late Antiquity, Claudian explored the theme of deflowering as pugna amoris with lascivious refinement. As of 15th century Italian poets, modern Europe recommenced this laudatory tradition of stylised eroticism with songs devoted to the union of illustrious families. The Baroque poet Francesc Fontanella (1622-1682/3) composed four magnificent epithalamia dedicated to the wedding of an enigmatic character: ‘gallant Alba’, of whom several studies have tried, unsuccessfully, to reveal his identity. In these compositions, Fontanella employed refined, metaphorical language to gradually describe the stages of carnal union understood as a love battle: the verses, rich in floral and mineral imagery, must be transformed into their particular meaning through double reading. The study includes the critical edition of the texts and a contextualisation of the series within the European corpus of epithalamia, as well as an argument on the possible identity of the protagonists. Abstract:
This paper investigates finite element method-based modeling in the context of neonatal electroencephalography (EEG). In particular, the focus lies on electrode boundary conditions. We compare the complete electrode model (CEM) with the point electrode model (PEM), which is the current standard in EEG. In the CEM, the voltage experienced by an electrode is modeled more realistically as the integral average of the potential distribution over its contact surface, whereas the PEM relies on a point value. Consequently, the CEM takes into account the subelectrode shunting currents, which are absent in the PEM. In this study, we aim to find out how the electrode voltage predicted by these two models differ, if standard size electrodes are attached to a head of a neonate. Additionally, we study voltages and voltage variation on electrode surfaces with two source locations: 1) next to the C6 electrode and 2) directly under the Fz electrode and the frontal fontanel. A realistic model of a neonatal head, including a skull with fontanels and sutures, is used. Based on the results, the forward simulation differences between CEM and PEM are in general small, but significant outliers can occur in the vicinity of the electrodes. The CEM can be considered as an integral part of the outer head model. The outcome of this study helps understanding volume conduction of neonatal EEG, since it enlightens the role of advanced skull and electrode modeling in forward and inverse computations. NEW & NOTEWORTHY The effect of the complete electrode model on electroencephalography forward and inverse computations is explored. A realistic neonatal head model, including a skull structure with fontanels and sutures, is used. The electrode and skull modeling differences are analyzed and compared with each other. The results suggest that the complete electrode model can be considered as an integral part of the outer head model. To achieve optimal source localization results, accurate electrode modeling might be necessary.

Abstract:
Abstract: This article focuses on the study of the treatment of eroticism in some of the poetic compositions from Francesc Fontanella (1622-1682/3). The paper studies fiften literary epistles whisch Fontanella dedicated to the nuns of the convent of Els Àngels and Jerusalem of Barcelona during the 1640s. It is divided into two parts; to first, the compositions under study are identified and presented briefly, and some issues related to the transmission of these textes are clarified. The second part discusses in detail all erotic references present in text. This analysis, on one hand, allows to present an interpretation of the meaning of the whole story contained in the letters. Moreover, it allows to present a characterization of the erotic vision of Fontanella. This is done by comparing this vision with the usual one at the time of baroque, as well as by analyzing the rhetorical strategies and the representation strategies that the author uses in the treatment of eroticism . Keywords: modern Catalan literature, Baroque, erotic, eroticism, Francesc Fontanella, Fontano, Belinda, Convent of Els Angels, Monastery of Jerusalem, Dominicans, Dominican, nun of the Order of St Clare, religious order, chivalric prose, white friar, satirical poetry, burlesque poetry , nuns' devouts.

Cleidocranial dysplasia is a rare autosomal disorder which manifests as partial or complete absence of clavicles, multiple supernumerary teeth, and delayed closure of fontanelle. Classical cases of cleidocranial dysplasia are easily diagnosed very early in the life. However, cases with partial manifestation of the syndrome and noncontributory family history are difficult to diagnose. Here, we report a case of 8.5-year-old girl child who presented with delayed tooth development (without any supernumerary teeth), anterior open fontanelle, and normal clavicles, thus resulting in a diagnostic dilemma.

Size and closure of the anterior fontanel from birth to 24 months of age and their relationships to growth parameters, bone age, and gestational age are reported in 111 term and 128 preterm infants. Great variability of both fontanel size and age when fontanel closed was observed. There were no significant differences in size and age at closure of the anterior fontanel between term and preterm infants or between the sexes. At ages beyond term, fontanel size was negatively correlated with weight and length; however, only a few correlations reached statistical significance. No significant relationships were noted between anterior fontanel size and head circumference or bone age. Age at closure of the anterior fontanel was also not significantly related to any of the growth parameters or bone age.
