Full textThe Brazilian popular works of art in the Edison Carneiro folk museum were considered as the starting point of this study. Its aim was to follow up the journey of the artefacts whether within the institution or outside of its walls. This process leads to analyze how these artefacts become part of Brazilian heritage on the basis of their ethnographic but also aesthetic characteristics. The study points out also the interaction of the collectors and the popular art shops. Beyond the presence of all these stakeholders in the artefacts life, the artefacts gain different perceptions depending on the entity. The study reveals then the role surprisingly played by the museums in the channels of circulation of the artefacts
Talhaferro, Bota Vinicius. "Tradition, interprétation, signification : la culture populaire brésilienne dans la musique pour piano de Camargo Guarnieri." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Strasbourg, 2024. http://www.theses.fr/2024STRAC030.
Full textThis thesis focuses on the influence of Brazilian popular culture and folklore in the piano music of Mozart Camargo Guarnieri (1907-1993). Born in Tietê, in the countryside of the State of São Paulo, Camargo Guarnieri was particularly sensitive to cultural expressions, rhythms, melodic shapes, and harmonies derived from the music of the people. He is also situated within a broader artistic movement focused on the renewal of musical language, which sought to assert a distinctly national identity in Brazilian-composed music. We believe that Camargo Guarnieri’s music is strongly marked by various Brazilian musical expressions. Therefore, we will analyze recordings of popular dances and songs to establish a relationship between this orally transmitted culture and the remarkably sophisticated works of this composer. Keywords: Camargo Guarnieri, topics, popular culture, Brazilian folklore, analysis

Full textThe study of the relationship between the culture of traditional communities and law implies having a wide perspective, combining a comparative and an international approach, as the concepts are varied and the instruments diverse. In Brazil, a country with a great cultural diversity, the need for the protection of popular culture is a growing, justified and necessary demand. France, on the other hand, has both the benefit of being the birthplace of copyright and possessing, too, a part of traditional culture. In addition, since the 1970s, the international indigenous movement gradually took a growing place in international debates. Thus, two directions rise attempting to protect the culture of traditional communities. Firstly, the possible use of traditional instruments for the protection of intellectual property rights will result from the international negotiating processes. In addition, in recent years, the tendency of elaborating a specific protection for traditional culture has emerged. In this perspective, the comparative analysis of the French and Brazilian legal systems can allow us to broaden our reflection on regimes whose effective implementation seems to be particularly complex. This thesis prompts us to question the reasons for this dysfunction by providing a study on several normative instruments. The result is a three-level analysis (international, national and, in some cases, local) aiming to highlight the major challenges of regulating traditional culture
Melim, Schwartz Gabriel José. "L’influence des éléments de la musique populaire brésilienne dans mon esthétique musicale." Thesis, 2020. http://hdl.handle.net/1866/25208.
Full textThis dissertation will discuss the importance as well as problematize the insertion of elements from Brazilian popular music in the context of contemporary concert music composition. As the history of music can confirm by its great icons, the identification of a nation with its own culture though musical form is very important, especially in the field of composition. This research thus seeks to find elements that represent the essence of the Brazilian music language in its different styles and to determine how to apply them in a new aesthetic context – namely, contemporary composition – without losing their connection to tradition and while remaining recognizable to the listener.
