Abstract:
Free-living amoebae (FLA) are part of a group of protozoa found worldwide and in the most diverse environments. They resist various temperatures and disinfection methods, and are a risk to human health. Pathogenic strains grow at high temperatures and under hyperosmolarity conditions. Some FLA genera are mainly related to primary amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM), skin ulcerations, corneal lesions, kidney and lung infections and keratitis. Therefore, studies that assess the pathogenic potential of FLA are public health issues of great concern. We aimed to evaluate the pathogenic potential of FLA isolated in salads from restaurants in vitro, using osmotolerance and thermotolerance tests. Forty-five isolates were used from ready-made salads purchased in restaurants in Jatai, Goias. Twelve isolates subjected to the osmotolerance test (26.6%) showed growth in 0.5 M mannitol, 18 (40.0%) in 1.0 M mannitol and 16 (35.5%) in 1.5 M mannitol, 13 (28.8%) isolates did not show growth. Four isolates that underwent the thermotolerance test (8.9%) showed growth at 25°C, 8 (17.8%) showed growth at 30°C, 3 (6.7%) showed growth at 37°C and 30 (66.7%) did not show growth. With the indices obtained in the present study, we concluded that 15.6% of the isolates were osmotolerant and thermotolerant. Our findings highlight a public health problem once these FLA are associated with harboring or being harbored by microorganisms responsible for diseases such as diarrhea and meningitis. Measures are required to improve food hygiene and so avoid FLA-related health problems. KEY WORDS: Pathogenicity; osmotolerance test; thermotolerance test; food contamination; free-living amoebae.

Abstract:
Land is an essential factor in real estate developments, and each location has its unique characteristics. Land value is a vital cost of real estate developments. Higher land costs mean that project developers must create higher valued products to cover the higher land costs and to maintain a profit level from their developments. Land values vary according to surrounding factors, such as environment, social, and economic situations. Machine learning is a popular data estimation technique that enables a system to learn from sample data; however, there are few studies on its use for estimating land value distribution. Therefore, we aim to apply the technique of machine learning to estimate land value and to investigate the factors affecting the land value in the Talingchan district, Bangkok., we used land value level as the dependent variable, with other factors affecting land value levels as the independent variables. Ten points of interest were chosen from Google Places API. Then, three machine learning algorithms, namely CART, random forest, support vector machine, were applied. For this study, we selected 45,032 land parcels as the experimental data and randomly divided them into two groups. The first 70% of the land parcels was used to create the training area. The other 30% of the land parcels was used to create the testing area to verify the accuracy of the land value estimation from the applied machine learning techniques. The most accurate machine learning results were produced by random forest, which were then used to measure the factor importance. The academic group factor was school, and the commercial group factors were clothing store, pharmacy, convenience store, hawker stall, grocery store, automatic teller machine, supermarket, restaurant, and company.

Abstract:
Strategic planning (SP) requires attention and constant updating and is a crucial process for guaranteeing the efficient performance of companies. This article proposes a novel approach applied in a case study whereby a balanced scorecard (BSC) was generated that integrated sentiment analysis (SA) of social media (SM) and took advantage of the valuable knowledge of these sources. In this study, opinions were consolidated in the main dataset to incorporate sentiments regarding the strategic part of a restaurant in a tourist city. The proposed methodology began with the selection of the company. Information was then acquired to apply pre-processing, processing, evaluation, and validation that is capitalized in a BSC to support strategic decision-making. Python support was used in the model and comprised lexicon and machine learning approaches for the SA. The significant knowledge in the comments was automatically oriented toward the key performance indicators (KPIs) and perspectives of a BSC that were previously determined by a group of opinion leaders of the company. The methods, techniques, and algorithms of SA and SP showed that unstructured textual information can be processed and capitalized efficiently for optimal management and decision-making. The results revealed an improvement (reduced effort and time) to produce a more robust and comprehensive BSC with the support and validation of experts. Moreover, new resources and approaches were developed to implement more efficient SP. The model was based on the efficient coupling of both fields of study.

Abstract:
Use of n-butyl cyanoacrylate glue with single pedicle advancement flap in rats Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate clinically and histopathologically the use of nbutyl cyanoacrylate glue in advancement flap procedures, because this glue is usually used in small wounds with low skin tension. Eighteen Wistar rats with weight between 300 and 400 g were used and divided in two groups of nine each. A 2.0 x 1.5 cm rectangular skin wound, including the cutaneous trunci muscle, was performed in the left dorsal lateral thoracic side and repaired using the single pedicle advancement flap technique. In the first group, the flap was fixed with the glue on the internal surface of the edges. In the second group, the flap was fixed with simple interrupted suture using nylon 4-0. The surgical time was lower in group I, and glue application was easy. In both groups were observed complications, such as inflammation and wound dehiscence, but there was no statistical difference. Three animals from each group were euthanatized at seven, 15 and 30 days postoperative to realize the histological examination. It was possible to conclude that, macroscopically and microscopically, n-butyl cyanoacrylate glue was similar to suture in fixation of single pedicle advancement flap in rats.

Abstract:
After Cole worked a series of gigs with Shuffle Along producer Flournoy Miller, a local restaurant owner hired him to bring a group to the Swanee Inn, which could accommodate only three musicians. Cole formed his first trio with guitarist Oscar Moore and bassist Wesley Prince. Moore suggested naming the group after Old King Cole and his Fiddlers Three. From 1937 to 1940, they enjoyed success in Los Angeles and made recordings very early for a series of commercial transcription services. After spending most of 1940 in Hollywood, they expanded in 1941, performing from Chicago to New York. They made their first real commercial recordings for Decca in 1940 and 1941 and were increasingly heard on the radio. Interest in the Trio was about to bubble over; as Nat later put it, “For seven years we knocked around, until something happened.”
