Abstract:
We present the theoretical background to a new method for measuring genetic variation for total fitness in Drosophila. The method allows heterozygous effects on total fitness of whole wild-type chromosomes to be measured under normal demography with overlapping generations. The wild-type chromosomes are competed against two balancer chromosomes (B1, B2, say), providing a standard genotype B1/B2 against which variation in the fitness effects of the wild-type chromosomes can be assessed. Fitness can be assessed in two ways: (i) at equilibrium of all three chromosomes under heterozygote advantage, and (ii) during displacement of one balancer by the other. Equilibrium with all three chromosomes present will be achieved only if the wild-type homozygote is not too fit, and if the fitnesses of the three heterozygotes are not too unequal. These conditions were not satisfied for any of a sample of 12 lethal-bearing chromosomes isolated from a random-bred laboratory population of Drosophila. At equilibrium, genotypic frequencies show low sensitivity to changes in genotypic fitness. Furthermore, where all four genotypes are viable and fertile, supplementary information from cages with only two chromosomes present and from direct measurements of pre-adult viability are required to estimate fitnesses from frequencies. The invasion method has the advantages of a greater sensitivity and of not requiring further data to estimate fitnesses if the wild-type homozygote is fertile. However, it requires that multiple samples be taken as the invasion progresses. In a discrete generation model, generation time influences fitness estimates from this method and is difficult to estimate accurately from the data. A full age-structured model can also be applied to the data from both types of experiment. For the invasion method, this gives fitness estimates close to those from the discrete generation model.

Abstract:
The article presents the general provisions method of forming the student’s health culture by means of fitness in extracurricular activities in higher education. The fitness system has a branched environment with a number of fitness programs. Each of them consists of the means fitness characteristic - physical means of influencing the body. Theoretical and methodological justification of fitness integration will increase the student’s exercise level of physical fitness and interest, their physical development, health, socialization and self-determination. The article shows the basic states student’s motives aged 17-22 and their interest in health classes, the formation of a culture of health by fitness means. However, the organization of extracurricular physical education student’s classes, purpose of which in addition to improving certain physical qualities is the formation of health culture has its own distinctive lynx, which requires the development of a separate method of forming health culture by means of fitness in extracurricular activities of higher education. Based on the formulated principles, we have included to extracurricular activities program of those fitness tools that are most suitable for the student audience, can be used separately from one or another basic fitness program, not difficult to dose. The choice of such fitness means and organizational forms of extracurricular physical culture, health classes for students was determined by their functional necessity and rationality from a scientific point of view. Also took into account the personal wishes of the student age group, among which the dominant ones were changes in appearance, namely the correction of body volume by changing the ratio of muscle and fat tissue, following the fashion for certain fitness equipment. By combining physical and mental means of fitness into a single complex, in our opinion, it is possible to promote the formation of a culture health, purposefully managing the mental and physiological states of the body to achieve a harmonious physical, mental and spiritual state.

Abstract:
The article focuses on the issues of physical training (PT) for senior schoolchildren in future, the cadets of Donetsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the feasibility of using the system of exercises «Fitness Boot Camp» to motivate senior schoolchildren to PT classes. It is noted that today, there is an extremely low general physical training of senior schoolchildren, future cadets. That is why, in order to involve senior schoolchildren into PT classes in modern life, it is necessary to choose such types of health and physical activity, to be effective not only for health, but also attractive from the emotional side. The program “Fitness Boot Camp” is built on the principles of American recruits training and includes a mix of sit-ups, push-ups, Burpee and other «sweets» of Army life. The main purpose of «Fitness Boot Camp» is to force a person to exceed their physical capabilities, to "jump above the head". The mentor in «Fitness Boot Camp» gives not commands, but orders, and often even in a raised voice. In a pilot program for schoolchildren «Fitness Boot Camp» in Donetsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine include: combat training; basics of topography; basics of tactics; handling of weapons; special physical training. During such training sessions, much attention is paid to physical exercises of strength and aerobic orientation, especially working and strengthening the muscles of the arms, legs and back. The program «Fitness Boot Camp» for future police officers can be considered as a rational way to improve the physical qualities of senior schoolchildren, the opportunity to join the training program of cadets and demonstrate the benefits of this profession.

Abstract:
The driving force of a genetic algorithm is the fitness function. The traditional fitness function based on the error sum of squares has a poor effect when the number of difference between classes is huge. Furthermore, it often fails to get better clustering results due to the lack of the clustering effect evaluation. So, this paper proposes a new K-means clustering based on Genetic Algorithm. Firstly, we define the concept of difference density and uses it as the fitness function of the genetic algorithm. Secondly, we evaluate the quality of the clustering results by some indicators and find the best cluster centers by iteration. The comparison proves that our method achieves a better result than the traditional K-means clustering based on genetic algorithm.

Abstract:
The article examines the changes in the indicators of physical fitness of women of the first mature age under the influence of fitness classes of the Kherson fitness center "Dominant". Fitness training included aerobic training, strength training (for all major muscle groups) and independent training. It is proved that the systematic use of training fitness programs allowed to determine the positive dynamics in the development of physical qualities of women of the first mature age. Significant changes were found in all indicators: the level of manifestation of speed and strength abilities during the long jump improved by 6.2%, the manifestation of strength abilities on the test "Bending and unbending the arms while lying down" changed by 21.7% , and according to the test "Lifting the torso to the side" - by 11.5%, the results of the development of flexibility changed by 12.1%, and the level of general endurance on the test exercise "Uniform running 1000 m" improved by 7.9%. The obtained results testify to the effectiveness of the proposed method of fitness classes in the indicators of physical fitness of women of the first mature age and can be used in the practice of fitness trainers and fitness instructors. In recent years, various types of health fitness are gaining popularity, maintaining the optimal level of physical condition, vital functions and reducing the risk of developing specific diseases of the cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, endocrine and other body systems. The modern system of physical education raises certain contradictions regarding the capabilities, orientation and determination of the propensity of people of different ages to engage in various types of physical culture and health activities. Taking into account the needs of different groups of the population determines the interest and desire of women of the first mature age to engage in specific types of physical activity, including fitness.

Abstract:
This paper presents a gravity inversion method for determining the volumes of bodies with pre‐established density contrasts. The method works step‐by‐step on a prismatic partition of the subsurface volume, expanding the anomalous bodies to fit the observed gravity values in a systematic exploration of model possibilities. The process is treated in a 3-D context; at the same time, it can determine a simple regional trend. Moreover, positive and negative density contrasts are simultaneously accepted. The solution is obtained by a double condition: (1) the 𝓁2-fitness to the observed gravity data (model fitness) and (2) the minimization of the total (weighted) anomalous mass (model smoothness). A positive parameter is used to balance the two minimization terms. The method is applied to a simulated example and also to a real example: the volcanic island of Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain). In both cases, the results obtained show the possibilities of the method.

Abstract:
Aim. Nowadays, the issue of increasing the overall effectiveness of workout programs, physical training, and rehabilitation, as well as reducing the risk of injury in active people remains acute. This is due to the fact that the number of people engaged in motor activity is constantly growing every year. The use of functional movement screening is aimed at identifying potential risks of injuries and ways to reduce their number, as well as developing an individual training program that will help to ensure active lifestyle. Materials and methods. During 2018, a study was conducted with people aged from 38 to 51 years who scored less than 14 in the FMS test (58 out of 200 people). The study is based on the domestic and foreign theory of sports training. The foreign experience of using functional movement screening was also taken into account. Research methods: literature analysis, testing, pedagogical experiment, mathematical and statistical processing. The testing process itself is based on functional movement screening (FMS). Results. It was found that at the beginning of the study the average FMS score was 9.88 points out of 21 possible (which implies the risk of injury according to the study of American colleagues). After 3.5 months, a significant improvement was achieved (more than 14 points on average). In the group engaged in fitness, there was a decrease in the number of injuries. Conclusion. The study confirmed the effectiveness of the FMS testing system, as well as the use of proposed exercises. The downward trend in the risk of injuries indicates the correctly chosen strategy. The simplicity and availability of the method also indicates its feasibility for the training process with persons involved in fitness.

Abstract:
Abstract Fuzzy c-means is an efficient algorithm that is amply used for data clustering. Nonetheless, when using this algorithm, the designer faces two crucial choices: choosing the optimal number of clusters and initializing the cluster centers. The two choices have a direct impact on the clustering outcome. This paper presents an improved algorithm called automatic genetic fuzzy c-means that evolves the number of clusters and provides the initial centroids. The proposed algorithm uses a genetic algorithm with a new crossover operator, a new mutation operator, and modified tournament selection; further, it defines a new fitness function based on three cluster validity indices. Real data sets are used to demonstrate the effectiveness, in terms of quality, of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract The present work proposes hybridization of Expectation-Maximization (EM) and K-means techniques as an attempt to speed-up the clustering process. Even though both the K-means and EM techniques look into different areas, K-means can be viewed as an approximate way to obtain maximum likelihood estimates for the means. Along with the proposed algorithm for hybridization, the present work also experiments with the Standard EM algorithm. Six different datasets, three of which synthetic datasets, are used for the experiments. Clustering fitness and Sum of Squared Errors (SSE) are computed for measuring the clustering performance. In all the experiments it is observed that the proposed algorithm for hybridization of EM and K-means techniques is consistently taking less execution time with acceptable Clustering Fitness value and less SSE than the standard EM algorithm. It is also observed that the proposed algorithm is producing better clustering results than the Cluster package of Purdue University.

Abstract:

Abstract:
SummaryCrossFit is one of the sports disciplines where endurance play a significant role in the performance. For testing anaerobic fitness it is important to choose the means that are part of the exercise and have a good transfer to the sport. A sample of competitive crossfitters (n = 12) underwent stress tests on the assault air bike (AB) (60 s) and Wingate. In addition to the performance parameters (Wmax, Wmean, W/kg, cal), lactate values after exercise (1st, 5th, 10th and 15th minute) were monitored. The results showed significant differences in both the absolute values of lactate and the development of the lactate curve (α = 0.05). The correlation of the selected variables showed a significant relationship between the average Watts value and the calories traveled (0.894). Testing anaerobic fitness with AB appears to be a suitable variant for CrossFit, as well as monitoring the development of lactate curve. Due to the original design of the study, it is necessary to verify the results.

Abstract:
Expectation Maximization (EM) is a widely employed mixture model-based data clustering algorithm and produces exceptionally good results. However, many researchers reported that the EM algorithm requires huge computational efforts than other clustering algorithms. This paper presents an algorithm for the novel hybridization of EM and K-Means techniques for achieving better clustering performance (NovHbEMKM). This algorithm first performs K-Means and then using these results it performs EM and K-Means in the alternative iterations. Along with the NovHbEMKM, experiments are carried out with the algorithms for EM, EM using the results of K-Means and Cluster package of Purdue University. Experiments are carried out with datasets from UCI ML repository and synthetic datasets. Execution time, Clustering Fitness and Sum of Squared Errors (SSE) are computed as performance criteria. In all the experiments the proposed NovHbEMKM algorithm is taking less execution time by producing results with higher clustering fitness and lesser SSE than other algorithms including the Cluster package.

Abstract:
The analysis of scientific and educational-methodical works which cover methods and means of restoration of physical working capacity of experts of various specialties is carried out. It was stated that the official activity of police officers involves significant physical and psychological stress. It is substantiated that a high level of physical performance is one of the conditions for quality performance of functional duties and contributes to less manifestation of the effects of fatigue. The specifics of physical activity in the conditions of police service necessitate the search for tools that contribute to the rapid and full recovery of physical performance of law enforcement officers. It is established that the quantitative manifestation of the level of physical fitness of the specialist is necessary for the assessment of the functional reserves of the organism during the organization of physical education of the population; in sports, during the selection, planning and forecasting of training loads of athletes; in adaptive physical education; to determine the motor mode of patients in clinics and rehabilitation centers; forecasting the course of diseases. The specifics of application of pedagogical, medico-biological and psychological means of restoration of physical working capacity of policemen are characterized. It is argued that in the conditions of professional training of police officers, pedagogical tools are key in optimizing the recovery processes, as they are based on the body's natural ability to self-healing. Medico-biological and psychological means of recovery are considered additional only if the rational construction of the educational process. These tools help to increase the body's resistance to stress, accelerate the reduction of acute manifestations of general and local fatigue, effective recovery of energy resources, accelerate adaptation processes. It is determined that restorative means should be used in accordance with the type and specifics of physical activity, taking into account the individual characteristics of the police officer. When choosing the means of recovery, a rational combination of means of general and local action becomes important.

Abstract:
Physical fitness level plays a significant role in health promotion. Cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular endurance, muscle power, and flexibility are the four key indicators of physical fitness level, listed as one of the important fields of preventive medicine. Some studies targeted at students, based on statistical inference, have put forward a set of physical fitness evaluation methods to see whether they have reached the level of healthy physical fitness. Testing and monitoring of individual physical fitness takes up little time and requires a small sample dataset; this paper hence proposed an evaluation and analysis model that suits individual physical fitness by means of a fuzzy evaluation method suitable for evaluating small sample datasets. This paper developed the evaluation model based on the upper confidence limit of the physical fitness evaluation index so that it could reduce the risk of misjudgment caused by sampling error. At the same time, a simple and easy-to-use fuzzy evaluation form was developed as an evaluation interface, which can present the whole picture of all evaluation indicators as well as have good and convenient management performance. Accordingly, it can help every individual simultaneously monitor multiple physical fitness indicators to ensure that each physical fitness index can meet the requirement of healthy physical fitness.

Abstract:
Based on a sample of 182 Portuguese fitness SMEs we study the investment determinants of fitness SMEs in Portugal. The multiple empirical evidence obtained in this study lets us conclude that the main explanatory theories of firm investment cannot be considered mutually exclusive in explaining the investment of Portuguese fitness SMEs, since: 1) they adjust investment as a function of sales, corroborating the assumptions of Neoclassical theory; 2) cash flow is an important financial resource for investment, corroborating the assumptions of Free Cash Flow theory; and 3) external finance, namely debt, is a restrictive determinant of investment, which corroborates the assumptions of Agency theory. Besides these results, we find that growth opportunities and government subsidies are positive determinants of investment in Portuguese fitness SMEs, and the financial crisis of 2008 has a negative influence on investment in Portuguese fitness SMEs. The financial crisis of 2008 also means greater relative importance of cash flow and government subsidies for increased investment, and debt for diminished investment, in fitness SMEs.

Abstract:
This article highlights the presence of the gender component in any type of discourse and its linguistic implementation. The aim of the study is to determine the gender component in the discourse of Western and Russian gender-oriented lifestyle magazines using a comparative analysis of the used English and Russian language means of lexical-grammatical (gender-marked language units) and semantic-syntactic (assessment, modality of sentences, syntax sentences) levels. The cognitive-linguistic approach allows us to prove that in the publications in question two types of discursive representation of masculinity and femininity are used: the type of “reflection” and the type of “construction”. The presence of gender neutral or gender-marked units of language in texts is associated with the intensity of the male / female dichotomy, this ratio reflects the predominance of egalitarian or traditional gender representations in society. The authors’ choice of the lexical repertoire, the general modality of statements and the syntactic organization of sentences correspond to the discursive tasks of publications, the linguistic tools used at the cognitive level translate certain models of gender behavior into the minds of the general readers. Analysis of 4000 contexts taken by continuous sampling from popular men’s and women’s magazines in the UK, USA and Russia for the period of 2012-2017 (“GQ”, “Men’s Health” (MH), “Men’s Fitness” (MF), “Esquire”, “Tatler”, “Cosmopolitan” (Cosmo), “Glamour”, “Women’s Health” (WH), “Women’s Fitness ”(WF),“ Marie Claire ”(MC)) allows us to identify common features and peculiarities of the discursive representation of masculinity and femininity in English editions and Russian-language versions of the same name, containing both translated and original (author) articles.

Abstract:
Background: Physical fitness is considered a predictor of mortality and comorbidities resulting from physical inactivity in children and adolescents. Physical literacy provides a robust and comprehensive assessment of physical fitness. Thus, it is considered a crucial element for understanding children and adolescents’ health status and their physical activity-related behaviours. Moreover, the self-perceived fitness should also be considered. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the relationship between physical literacy and self-perceived physical fitness in children and adolescents aged 8–12 years. Methods: A single-measure cross-sectional study was conducted with 135 children and adolescents. Anthropometric measurements and the Canadian Assessment of Physical Literacy Development (CAPL-2) were applied. Descriptive statistics and correlations were calculated. The Fitness Perception Scale for Adolescents (FP VAS A) scale was also administered to assess participants’ self-perceived fitness. Results: Moderate significant correlations were found between “physical competence”, “motivation and confidence”, and the total CAPL-2 score with FP VAS A. Conclusions: The influence of motivation on self-perceived fitness has been demonstrated. Moreover, cardiorespiratory fitness could be considered one of the most relevant and influential factors in the total CAPL-2 score. It means that higher levels of self-perceived fitness would be associated with greater levels of physical literacy.

Abstract:
Aerobic capacity testing can be beneficial to coaches, physical educators, and trainers in the process of designing aerobic training programs. However, testing in a laboratory can be costly. Polar heart rate monitors provide a fitness test that estimates aerobic capacity without having to use expensive equipment. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of the Polar fitness test in comparison to the laboratory test. Eighteen college age students completed the Polar fitness test along with a laboratory test for aerobic capacity. The laboratory test consisted of a maximal Bruce protocol treadmill test while the subject was connected to a metabolic cart. The study found that the Polar fitness test provides results that are not statistically different from the metabolic cart results (t = 1.681, p = 0.111). Additionally, the 2 tests were strongly correlated (r = 0.545, p = 0.019). This indicates that the Polar fitness test may be an appropriate means of aerobic capacity testing for those not needing the accuracy of expensive laboratory equipment.
