Abstract:
Purpose Although logistics management is a crucial part of local and global sports events, there is no research-driven characterization of “sports logistics management”. The purpose of this paper is to conceptualize a framework that allows for a more structured recognition of logistics in sports, in general, and sport event management, in particular. In addition, we conduct a systematic literature review of sports logistics management and locate opportunities for future research both for sports management and logistics management scholars. Design/methodology/approach Guided by Durach et al.’s (2017) systematic literature review approach, we identify key attributes and characteristics of sports logistics management. These are based on studies featuring at least partial aspects of logistics management in sports and sport events, and that were published between 2000 and mid-2019. Findings The study reveals that sports logistics management – meaning logistics activities in sports and sport event management – is a heavily under-researched area that provides an abundance of scientific opportunities. Based on the three sport event types of local/regional sport events, major sport events and mega sport events, the authors propose four sports logistics management pillars that are central to the proposed Sport Logistics Framework: venue logistics management, sports equipment logistics management, athletes logistics management, and fan and spectators logistics management. Practical implications By providing a conceptual framework for sports logistics, the authors progress towards informing the sport sector on relevant strategic and operational levels of logistics management and set the stage for empirical studies that are likely to advance sport logistics planning and management. Originality/value This is the first study that builds on a systematic review of literature specifically focused on the logistics aspect in sports and sport event management. It provides a conceptual framework of sports logistics management and offers an agenda of future research opportunities.

Abstract:
Aim. The article deals with the analysis of the current state and issues of training sports reserve in track and field. Materials and methods. A questionnaire consisting of 12 questions and 57 subquestions of open-ended, close-ended and multiple choice types was developed. The questionnaire-based survey was carried out among Russian and Chinese coaches (n = 161) aged 20–72 years including Honored coaches of the Russian Federation (n = 7) and elite coaches (n = 38). Results. The questionnaire-based survey for coaches demonstrated that they worried about: declining popularity of track-and-field compared to other sports; early specialization and related risks; low qualification of coaches working with children and teenagers. Respondents pay special attention to negative consequences of early specialization such as early retirement from sport, loss of promising athletes; short career in elite sports; growing number of sports-related injuries in young athletes. According to coaches, the main factors contributing to early specialization are the following: a) specialized training, which results in a rapid growth of sport results; b) achievements in sports are so high that a coach has to search for sports reserve among children. According to the respondents, young athletes should participate in competitions to learn how to overcome themselves and accumulate competitive experience. The majority of respondents think that integrated training in track-and-field is one of the important factors of successful career. Conclusion. A social survey of coaches has revealed peculiarities and issues typical for training sports reserve in track-and-field, which have to be considered and resolved.

Duthie, Grant Malcolm, Sam Robertson, and Heidi Rose Thornton. "A GNSS-based method to define athlete manoeuvrability in field-based team sports." PLOS ONE 16, no. 11 (November 19, 2021): e0260363. http://dx.doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0260363.

Full text
Abstract:
This study presented a method of quantifying the manoeuvrability of two field-based team sport athletes and investigated its relationship with running velocity during competition. Across a season, 10 Hz Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) devices were worn during matches by 62 athletes (Australian Football League [AFL]; n = 36, 17 matches, National Rugby League [NRL]; n = 26, 21 matches). To quantify manoeuvrability, tortuosity was calculated from the X and Y coordinates from match GNSS files (converted from latitude and longitude). Tortuosity was calculated as 100 x natural logarithm of the chord distance (distance travelled between X and Y coordinates), divided by the straight-line distance. The maximal tortuosity was then quantified for each 0.5 m∙s-1 speed increment, ranging from 0 to the highest value for each game file. A quadratic model was fitted for each match file, controlling for the curvilinear relationship between tortuosity and velocity. A comparison of the quadratic coefficients between sports, and within sport between positions was investigated using linear mixed models. Resulting standard deviations (SDs) and mean differences were then assessed to establish standardized effect sizes (ES) and 90% confidence intervals (CI). A curvilinear relationship exists between maximal tortuosity and running speed, reflecting that as speed increases, athletes’ ability to deviate from a linear path is compromised (i.e., run in a more linear path). Compared to AFL, NRL had a greater negative quadratic coefficient (a) (ES = 0.70; 0.47 to 0.93) for the 5 second analysis, meaning that as speed increased, NRL athletes’ manoeuvrability reduced at a faster rate than when compared to AFL. There were no positional differences within each sport. GNSS derived information can be used to provide a measure of manoeuvrability tortuosity during NRL and AFL matches. The curvilinear relationship between tortuosity and speed demonstrated that as speed increased, manoeuvrability was compromised.

Abstract:
Abstract Sport is a complex phenomenon that academics across many social sciences are focusing on. The interest in sports has been observable for a long time by historians, anthropologists and sociologists. Scientists in the field of international relations are no exception. A typical way sport is studied in international relations is by paying attention to sports diplomacy. The study of sports diplomacy has become a pretty popular part of the research since the second decade of the 21st century and it is possible to observe the dominance of the authors from the American and British universities in sports diplomacy research. Based on the Web of Science dataset, at first sight, the study of sports diplomacy is not seen as a popular field of research in the Central European countries. On the other hand, this statistical measure does not describe a complex situation of what the sports diplomacy research looks like, how it is formed or how it reflects the thinking of the politicians on national public/sports diplomacy. Thus, the article aims to map sports diplomacy research in the Central European states, specifically in Poland, Czechia and Slovakia.

Abstract:
Introduction. The article highlights the problem of criminological risks in professional sports, which by its nature is characterized by significant criminogenic potential. Purpose. The purpose of the study is to show the criminogenicity of professional sports and the appropriateness of applying a risk-based approach to its analysis. Methodology. The research methodology is based on identifying criminological risks in relation to professional sport and its subjects in terms of ensuring their safety. Results. Professional sport has a pronounced criminological content due to the fact that it: a) activity with the goal of making a profit; b) illegal competitions are held; c) there is crime among athletes; d) this area is attractive for corruption, money laundering and, in general, for organized crime; e) in this area, mass deviations from fans are often observed; f) this is the sphere of international politics and here there are elements of a hybrid war, the target of which is Russia, and the high-level professional athletes are the victims. Criminological risks in the field of professional sports are differentiated into three groups: criminal, criminogenic and victimological. Criminal risks are related to the commission of crimes in this area. Criminogenic risks are associated with the criminalization of professional sports. Victimological risks are currently concentrated in the field of international professional sports and are most pronounced in doping scandals, the main victim of which was designated Russia. Conclusion. Public relations in the field of professional sports require analysis from the perspective of a risk-based approach, which should be supplemented by an assessment of criminological risks: criminal, criminogenic and victimological. It is important to take into account the political dimension of such risks – both in the field of domestic and international politics.

Abstract:
Background: Repeated head impacts sustained by athletes have been linked to short-term neurophysiologic deficits; thus, there is growing concern about the number of head impacts sustained in sports. Accurate head impact exposure data obtained via head impact sensors may help identify appropriate strategies across sports and between genders to mitigate repetitive head impacts. Purpose: To quantify sport- and gender-based differences in head impact rate and mechanism for adolescents. Study Design: Cohort study; Level of evidence, 2. Methods: High school female and male varsity soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and field hockey (female only) teams were instrumented with headband-mounted impact sensors during games over 2 seasons of soccer and 1 season of basketball, lacrosse, and field hockey. Video review was used to remove false-positive sensor-recorded events, and the head impact rate per athlete-exposure (AE) was calculated. Impact mechanism was categorized as equipment to head, fall, player to head, or head to ball (soccer only). Results: Male players had significantly higher head impact rates as compared with female players in soccer (3.08 vs 1.41 impacts/AE; rate ratio, 2.2 [95% CI, 1.8-2.6]), basketball (0.90 vs 0.25; 3.6 [2.6-4.6]), and lacrosse (0.83 vs 0.06; 12.9 [10.1-15.8]). Impact mechanism distributions were similar within sports between boys and girls. In soccer, head to ball represented 78% of impacts, whereas at least 88% in basketball were player-to-player contact. Conclusion: Across sports for boys and girls, soccer had the highest impact rate. Male high school soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams had significantly higher head impact rates than did female teams of the same sport. For girls, basketball had a higher head impact rate than did lacrosse and field hockey, and for boys, basketball had a similar impact rate to lacrosse, a collision sport. Sport differences in the distribution of impact mechanisms create sport-specific targets for reducing head impact exposure.

Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the current literature regarding the utility of global positioning system (GPS)–derived workload metrics in determining musculoskeletal injury risk in team-based field-sport athletes. Data Sources PubMed entries from January 2009 through May 2019 were searched using terms related to GPS, player workload, injury risk, and team-based field sports. Study Selection Only studies that used GPS metrics and had injury as the main outcome variable were included. Data Extraction Total distance, high-speed running, and acute : chronic workload ratios were the most common GPS metrics analyzed, with the most frequent sports being soccer, rugby, and Australian rules football. Data Synthesis Many distinct workload metrics were associated with increased injury risk in individual studies performed in particular sport circumstances; however, the body of evidence was inconclusive as to whether any specific metrics could consistently predict injury risk across multiple team-based field sports. Conclusions Our results were inconclusive in determining if any GPS–derived workload metrics were associated with an increased injury risk. This conclusion is due to a myriad of factors, including differences in injury definitions, workload metrics, and statistical analyses across individual studies.

Abstract To aid the implementation of athlete surveillance systems relative to logistical circumstances, easy-to-access information that summarises the extent to which methods of acquiring data are used in practice to monitor athletes is required. In this scoping review, Social Network Analysis and Mining (SNAM) techniques were used to summarise and identify the most prevalent combinations of methods used to monitor athletes in research studying team, individual, field- and court-based sports (357 articles; SPORTDiscus, MEDLINE, CINHAL, and WebOfScience; 2014-2018 inc.) . The most prevalent combination in team and field-based sports were HR and/or sRPE (internal) and GPS, whereas in individual and court-based sports, internal methods (e.g., HR and sRPE) were most prevalent. In court-based sports, where external methods were occasionally collected in combination with internal methods of acquiring data, the use of accelerometers or inertial measuring units (ACC/IMU) were most prevalent. Whilst individual and court-based sports are less researched, this SNAM-based summary reveals that court-based sports may lead the way in using ACC/IMU to monitor athletes. Questionnaires and self-reported methods of acquiring data are common in all categories of sport. This scoping review provides coaches, sport-scientists and researchers with a data-driven visual resource to aid the selection of methods of acquiring data from athletes in all categories of sport relative to logistical circumstances. A guide on how to practically implement a surveillance system based on the visual summaries provided herein, is also presented.

Abstract:
The increase in individual sports activities is stimulating the rise of sport-related forms of vacationing. This is further intensified by tourists seeking authentic experiences in host–guest relations, physical health and well-being, and the consumption of local products and services. Communities, especially those in developing countries, do not yet fully recognize the potential of local sports as a resource and competitive advantage in their destination development. In the same way, tourism research is lacking analyses regarding the role of the community and its specific sports identity. Given this, the present paper aims to systematically review the promising interface between community development and sports tourism. The research questions are based on the potential of identity-based sports and necessary local engagement. These efforts are pursued through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with 49 articles. The results reveal the thematic clusters, research features, and prevalent challenges and benefits that the community has to deal with. The discussion proposes the utilization of local sports identity in systematic product development and highlights increasing local engagement. In conclusion, we call for future research on non-event-related sports tourism, in-depth case studies, and multi-disciplinary concepts to foster local sustainability.

Abstract:
Clinical Scenario: Until recently, injury epidemiology data on elite Paralympic athletes were limited. Current data suggest high rates of shoulder injury in wheelchair athletes. Differences in shoulder injury rates between sports have not been reported in this population. Clinical Question: Is the incidence of shoulder injury in elite wheelchair athletes different between sports? Summary of Key Findings: Shoulder injury rates are high in elite wheelchair athletes, particularly in sports such as field events and fencing that require a stable base (eg, trunk, core control) from which to perform. Wheelchair racing requires repetitive motions that contribute to shoulder injuries, but rates are lower than field sports and fencing. Wheelchair curling and sledge hockey have low shoulder injury risk. Clinical Bottom Line: Shoulder injury rates vary based on sport in elite wheelchair athletes. In addition to incorporating shoulder complex specific rehabilitation for overuse shoulder injuries, clinicians should focus on core and trunk stabilization in elite wheelchair athletes competing in sports, such as field events and fencing. Strength of Recommendation: Grade C evidence exists that reports shoulder injury rates among elite wheelchair athletes differ based on sport participation.

Abstract:
Management activity is one of the most important factors in the functioning and development of the physical culture and sports field. Management is a conscious human activity, with a well-defined purpose, based on which the elements of the external environment are ordered and subordinated in accordance with institutional interests. Management means art, experience and training. Sports management is a special type of management, whose object is represented by sports organizations, their efficient management in modern market conditions. In this context, every sports entity needs a professional leader, a manager, who must be a specialist who knows and owns the art of management in market relations and who with the support of appropriate methods, instructions, regulations and professional standards, manages to implement the principles, objectives, priorities and policies of physical culture and sport. Thus, there is a need for specific qualification requirements of the specialist in the field of physical culture and sports, an effective managerial-legislative-sports training. The qualification requirements of each specialist in the field, imply an adequate education and professional experience, characterized by certain responsibilities and a good knowledge of the national and international regulatory framework, governing the field of physical culture and sport as a whole.

Abstract:
The article raises the problem of using the educational potential of virtual museums. It is noted that virtual museums are a new organizational form of the modern system of informal education. Thanks to the availability and openness of museum funds, it becomes possible to acquaint young people with the artifacts of culture and social life. The exposition fund of the virtual museum of bookmarks created in Germany is analyzed. The thematic field “sport” is chosen as the object of research. Based on content analysis, the frequency of manifestation of this concept is revealed. On the basis of cluster analysis, the belonging of the exhibits to various sections of the virtual museum is established. It is concluded that sport is presented as a subject of three clusters 1) financial savings for sports, 2) advertising lifestyle and sporting goods and 3) world-class sporting events. The assessment of the peculiarities of presentation of the content of bookmarks on the subject of sports creolized texts is given.

Abstract:
After the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Chinese officials claimed that the goal of “driving 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports” had been achieved. Historically, the London 2012 Olympic Games had a similar goal: to increase sports participation for all by hosting the Olympic Games. Given these goals, the impact of the Olympic Games on sports participation has clearly become significant. These impacts can be referred to as the Olympic sport participation legacy, an intangible Olympic legacy. The Olympic sport participation legacy has attracted a lot of researchers’ interest in the academic field in recent years. This paper aims to conduct a scoping review of Olympic sport participation legacy studies between 2000 and 2021 to identify the progress of studies on the sustainability of Olympic sport participation legacies. Unlike previous scoping reviews on sport participation legacies, this review adopts a Patterns, Advances, Gaps, Evidence of Practice, and Research Recommendations (PAGER) framework at the results analysis stage to improve the quality of the findings. The results from the scoping review contained 54 peer-reviewed articles on three levels of research: the population level, social level, and intervention processes. Many studies indicate that achieving a sustainable Olympic sport participation legacy requires joint collaboration and long-term planning between governments, community organisations, and other stakeholders.

Abstract:
Purpose:To assess the validity of a digitizing time–motion-analysis method for field-based sports and compare this with a notational-analysis method using rugby-union match play.Method:Five calibrated video cameras were located around a rugby pitch, and 1 subject completed prescribed movements within each camera’s view. Running speeds were measured using photocell timing gates. Two experienced operators digitized video data (operator 1 on 2 occasions) to allow 2-dimensional reconstruction of the prescribed movements. Results:Accuracy for total distance calculated was within 2.1% of the measured distance. For intraoperator and interoperator reliability, calculated distances were within 0.5% and 0.9%, respectively. Calculated speed was within 8.0% of measured photocell speed with intraoperator and interoperator reliability of 3.4% and 6.0%, respectively. For the method comparison, two 20-minute periods of rugby match play were analyzed for 5 players using the digitizing method and a notational time–motion method. For the 20-minute periods, overall mean absolute differences between methods for percentage time spent and distances covered performing different activities were 3.5% and 198.1 ± 138.1 m, respectively. Total number of changes in activity per 20 minutes were 184 ± 24 versus 458 ± 48, and work-to-rest ratios, 10.0%:90.0% and 7.3%:92.7% for notational and digitizing methods, respectively. Conclusion:The digitizing method is accurate and reliable for gaining detailed information on work profiles of field-sport participants and provides applied researchers richer data output than the conventional notational method.

Logistical approach to the organization system of sport events results in forming new theoretical concept in the specific field regarding the social, economic and political spheres. The study of literature sources suggest the origins of sports events could be seen in models formed in flows of information and participants of contests. The idea of flow concept should be considered as a new approach with some features which played a progressive and positive role in the development of the world community. At present, the modern system of sports events is a complex industry that has global significance in economic, social, technological and political relations. The subjects of management of this kind of sports events, as a rule, are several categories of participants. First of all, these are the athletes who are the main characters in the competitions. In addition to them, managers, sports judges, coaches, medical personnel, representatives of the mass media, service personnel, sponsors, representatives of administrative bodies, spectators, etc. participate in the organization and management of sport events themselves.

In common practice, sports-perceptual interventions are mainly based on vision. However, research demonstrates that sporting performance can also be improved through the use of sounds, showing the relevance of the auditory channel to convey sports-related information, which can positively affect athletes’ motor outcomes. This review examines the potential of audio-based interventions in sport. The relevant concepts are defined, a brief overview of the techniques based on vision is given and laboratory studies demonstrating the effectiveness of sounds in improving the execution of simple rhythmic motor tasks are reviewed. Subsequently, neurophysiological evidence of the influence of sounds on the motor regions of the brain is provided and different kinds of audio-based interventions, emphasising their methodological details and the effects of their application to specific sporting performances are described. Finally, recommendations for further research in this field, aimed both at maximizing the potential of audio-based interventions and their implementation at applied sporting contexts, are suggested.

Abstract:
More insight into in-field mechanical power in cyclical sports is useful for coaches, sport scientists, and athletes for various reasons. To estimate in-field mechanical power, the use of wearable sensors can be a convenient solution. However, as many model options and approaches for mechanical power estimation using wearable sensors exist, and the optimal combination differs between sports and depends on the intended aim, determining the best setup for a given sport can be challenging. This review aims to provide an overview and discussion of the present methods to estimate in-field mechanical power in different cyclical sports. Overall, in-field mechanical power estimation can be complex, such that methods are often simplified to improve feasibility. For example, for some sports, power meters exist that use the main propulsive force for mechanical power estimation. Another non-invasive method usable for in-field mechanical power estimation is the use of inertial measurement units (IMUs). These wearable sensors can either be used as stand-alone approach or in combination with force sensors. However, every method has consequences for interpretation of power values. Based on the findings of this review, recommendations for mechanical power measurement and interpretation in kayaking, rowing, wheelchair propulsion, speed skating, and cross-country skiing are done.

Abstract:
The combination of scientific and technological achievements and sports has found new opportunities to change people’s sports habits. Sport training takes up an increasing proportion of people’s lives. In order to improve the efficiency of sports training and standardize the training actions of players, this article is based on wireless network communication and uses different types of recognition methods in the field of action recognition to build basic classifications. Iterative mutual training to improve generalization performance can reduce the cost of labeling and realize the complementary advantages of different recognition methods, thereby improving the recognition accuracy of human actions. Finally, the algorithm is used to recognize human movements. This method can effectively overcome the problem of differential degradation of base classifiers in the iterative process of collaborative training and further improve the accuracy of human action recognition. The experimental results prove that the motion recognition of wireless network communication proposed in this paper can effectively improve the accuracy of athletes’ movements, which is more than 20% higher than traditional methods, and, under the guidance of standardized movements, can reduce athletes’ sports injuries.

Abstract:
Video classification has been an active research field of computer vision in last few years. Its main purpose is to produce a label that is relevant to the video given its frames. Unlike image classification, which takes still pictures as input, the input of video classification is a sequence of images. The complex spatial and temporal structures of video sequence incur understanding and computation difficulties, which should be modeled to improve the video classification performance. This work focuses on sports video classification but can be expanded into other applications. In this paper, the authors propose a novel sports video classification method by processing the video data using convolutional neural network (CNN) with spatial attention mechanism and deep bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) network with temporal attention mechanism. The method first extracts 28 frames from each input video and uses the classical pre-trained CNN to extract deep features, and the spatial attention mechanism is applied to CNN features to decide ‘where' to look. Then the BiLSTM is utilized to model the long-term temporal dependence between video frame sequences, and the temporal attention mechasim is employed to decide ‘when' to look. Finally, the label of the input video is given by the classification network. In order to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method, an extensive experimental investigation was conducted on the open challenging sports video datasets of Sports8 and Olympic16; the results show that the proposed CNN-BiLSTM network with spatial temporal attention mechanism can effectively model the spatial-temporal characteristics of video sequences. The average classification accuracy of the Sports8 is 98.8%, which is 6.8% higher than the existing method. The average classification accuracy of 90.46% is achieved on Olympic16, which is about 18% higher than the existing methods. The performance of the proposed approach outperforms the state-of-the-art methods, and the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:
Leading with Pedagogical Tact- a Challenge in Children's Sports in Sweden The purpose of this article is to elucidate and problemize meetings between children and leaders in children's sport. The competitive sport is high valuated in the Swedish society and sport for children is central in the Swedish youth politics. The foundation in Swedish sport, as well as in the other Nordic countries, has for a long time relied on voluntary commitment. Approximately 650 000 people are voluntary engaged as leaders in sport in Sweden and 70% of children between 7 and 14 years compete in sports clubs. There is, however, a tension in the Swedish sport system. The sports for children has double missions - ‘association nurturing’ and ‘competition nurturing’, missions which are not always in harmony. In the daily activity it is the voluntary leaders who have to deal with these missions, which creates a field of tension. In this article I argue for a bridge between these missions by a leadership based on pedagogical tact. The empirical outlook is a narrative based on statements from leaders, children and parents in a study dealing with voluntary leadership within children's football. In the end I argue that focusing on this bridge is a win-win situation, both for children and sports.

Abstract:
The article deals with the notion of sport as a phenomenon of media communication, identifies categories of media communication, mass communication, sports communication. The article is based on the fact that at the beginning of the 20th century there was a rapid institutionalization of journalism, including sports. Sport has become a full-fledged part of mass culture and media communication discourse. The number of sports disciplines, organizations, competitions has increased, the need for sport as a form of entertainment, recreation, self-realization has grown. This was based on fundamental changes in the society itself, when the completed industrial revolution, the introduction of mass production gave the man extra free time and an opportunity to be in charge of it. At the same time, the means of communication were developing and the amount of sports information was increasing: the radio, then television, appeared and became actively present in everyday life. Thus, the interest in sports encouraged the development of information channels, and they, developing, drew the attention of an increasing number of people to sports. Eventually, sport became a phenomenon of a planetary scale, and media channels themselves began to influence the rules of sporting events. The article defines the place of sport in the media communication field. The author singles out the motives of the audience's appeal to the materials of sports journalism. This allows us to outline the main functions of sports media communication, which it performs in the society.

Abstract:
Elite sports are one of the keys to developing sports as enshrined in the Sports Law. In this law, sport is positioned as an instrument for national development. However, it is more dominated by the sports development paradigm, even though Indonesia's sports achievements have significantly developed in several international sports competitions. It is contributed through the coaching factor through sports training education from an early age under the auspices of sports education at the school level. However, the impact has not been able to influence other aspects of national development more broadly. It has become a gap between what is stated in the Sports Law and practice in the field. Therefore, this research aims to examine the implementation of elite sports policies as part of the Sports Law to realize development through sports. To achieve the objectives of this study, we designed eleven semi-structured interview indicators based on the essence of the elite sports section of the sports law. This study found that the implementation of applied elite sports policies was close to conformity with the sports law. However, on the other hand, there are still shortcomings and inequities in several aspects. Inequality in several aspects occurs due to a lack of understanding of the importance of the role of sport as an instrument of national development. Therefore, the government as a stakeholder must immediately act decisively to deal with the problems. The implications of this research can be considered for evaluating the implementation of policies that will be implemented in the future/

This article deals with works in sport sociology based on Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of habitus and field. The work of Defrance introduced this theory in social history. Subsequently, Pociello and his team demonstrated the relations existing between the space of sports and that of social positions as well as the role of symbolic struggles involving various groups of sports participants in the dynamics of the sports system. The power of symbolism associated with sporting practices is closely bound to the social relevance of the physical dimension in sports. Also discussed is the equivalency between struggles for the definition of the legitimate body and social political struggles. The theoretical and methodological coherence of the works discussed here is sufficient to label them a “school” within sociology of sport.

Abstract:
Traditional methods for identifying naming ignore the correlation between named entities and lose hierarchical structural information between the named entities in a given text. Although traditional named-entity methods are effective for conventional datasets that have simple structures, they are not as effective for sports texts. This paper proposes a Chinese sports text named-entity recognition method based on a character graph convolutional neural network (Char GCN) with a self-attention mechanism model. In this method, each Chinese character in the sports text is regarded as a node. The edge between the nodes is constructed using a similar character position and the character feature of the named-entity in the sports text. The internal structural information of the entity is extracted using a character map convolutional neural network. The hierarchical semantic information of the sports text is captured by the self-attention model to enhance the relationship between the named entities and capture the relevance and dependency between the characters. The conditional random fields classification function can accurately identify the named entities in the Chinese sports text. The results conducted on four datasets demonstrate that the proposed method improves the F-Score values significantly to 92.51%, 91.91%, 93.98%, and 95.01%, respectively, in comparison to the traditional naming methods.

Abstract:
The opportunities and development of skills in the field of sports may open a door to social inclusion that also facilitates social integration. Based on the funding provided by the national sports strategy and integration, the research project can be developed further on and implemented. The efforts of the European Union (EU) and of the European Council towards the member states are carried out through its directives, and the analyses of these documents provide guidelines for the elaboration of the Hungarian Roma strategies. Funding is one of the key factors for the elaboration of Roma integration strategy and its efficiency. The research highlights upon the way of thinking and mentality of Roma young people about sports currently, and on the importance of sport affairs for them. Also, reflects on the factors which promote motivation to have successful career goals and achieve those based on the program. The sports integration survey suggests conclusions on the role of mentoring in Roma youngsters’ studies, in sports, in building social relations, the role model motivating for them, or on the supportive role of the parents or even the lack of it in their families. The expected result would be a survey on sporting habits of the Roma minority and disadvantaged youth and their positioning in education through which we could develop programs to promote the integration of the Roma minority and to improve their general circumstances. The National Social Inclusion Strategy (Ministry of Human Capacities, National Social Inclusion Strategy 2011–2020) provides the financial background of the integration project whose application also prevails in the field of sports integration. The aspirations of the EU provide guidance to the amount of funding and its allocation manners. The National Roma Self-Government’s (NRSG) sports integration project and best practice has provided the basis for the sports integration research project. The survey is examining the recreational habits, motivational factors, study levels among the Roma minority and the disadvantaged young people. Based on the questionnaire, we can draw some conclusions about the development of sports integration programs. The issues cover the field of sport activities of young people aged between 9-18 and on the significance of sport opportunities for break-out for the Roma youth, and on the effect of role models for them. The sports integration projects treat simultaneously the development of education and sport, furthermore they are significantly linked to each other. The target group of the questionnaire survey are mainly the Roma and disadvantaged people. The sample item number is 1216 completed questionnaires from the whole territory of the country, from 16 schools. As shown in the survey, the sport and the level of education are significantly related to each other. Those who do any sports, obtain higher level of achievement in their studies. It can be revealed by the fact that through mentoring the sportsmen can promote their school performance and sport development together. The research highlights on another observation, namely, it also confirms the legitimacy of sports integration program and points out the direction for development. For accomplishing the goal of social inclusion through sport we have at hand the appropriate concept. It is, furthermore necessary to strengthen and to develop the mentoring program, which ensures the lower drop-out rate among the participants. The effect of Sports integration is motivating for the Roma and for the disadvantaged youth. The use of sport as a tool for social inclusion proves to be of utmost importance. JEL code: Z23

Abstract:
The objective of this research was to know the relationship of the predictive variables of stress and commitment in the sports and academic context of adolescent judokas based on different personal characteristics, such as sex and sports level. Material and methods: A selective research methodology was used, with a retrospective ex-post-facto design. The sample consisted of 111 competing judokas (59 men and 52 women) aged between 11 and 19 years, all of them students of regulated secondary education. Results: In general, the sample effect size was large in variables like Sport Task Coping; medium in Sport Distancing Coping and short in Sport Emo- tion Coping. The correlational analysis between the variables of interest showed the existence of a negative relationship of stress with resilience and commitment, both in the academic and sports fields. Second, two clusters were extracted from the sample using the Ward’s method and taking into account the interval provided by the squared Euclidean distance standardized by Z scores and generating a dendrogram. The analyses carried out show the existence of two large groups of judokas with similar characteristics to each other and different from the rest. The results verified the relationship between stress variables and the commitment between the academic and sports context, therefore, the sports practice could be used as a means to improve stress coping strategies and to improve commitment in the academic field. Conclusions: Sports stress predicts academic stress, and sports stress and resilience predict academic engagement.

Abstract:
The article provides a sociological interpretation of the concept of the «athlete’s habitus» performed through the prism of P. Bourdieu’s theory based on sociological research data. To describe the athletes’ habitus, data of the following sociological studies were used: interviews with athletes studying at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Lobachevsky University (n = 74 persons representing individual and team sports in a 50/50 ratio); secondary analysis of interviews with mothers of high-performance athletes (n = 3 persons); participant observation carried out during the training and sports process with representatives of the following sports: volleyball, basketball, hockey, athletics, martial arts. The grounded theory approach, proposed by A. Strausset and D. Corbin, was used to analyze the data obtained during the interviews with student athletes, part of which were applied the method of «life histories» (analysis of the life of athletes from their mothers’ words) and conversational analysis (analysis of the interviewer-athlete dialogues). During the data analysis (coding procedure) the following concepts were identified and described: trajectories and stages of the sports habitus formation, social practices of the athlete’s habitus; a strong connection was noted between these concepts. Reliability of the obtained results is within the acceptable level as the subjective views of the informants are expressed in the indicators typical of their activity, acquired in the process of integration into the sports field over 10 years or more. This resulted in a high sports status (candidate master of sports, master of sports), which was the rationale for their selection for the interview. The paper reveals the peculiarities of the formation of the athletes’ habitus, its trajectory, and formation stages. Depending on the stage of the habitus formation in the sports field, the agent is endowed with transitional sports habitus, which, accumulating, allow the individual to acquire the habitus of the established athlete. The athlete’s habitus synthesizes the diversity of social experiences of agents of various social fields, thereby endowing itself with the identity of the realization of practices characteristic only of the social space of sport. In general, we can define the athlete’s habitus as a system of acquired predispositions that are imposed by the structure of the social field of sport.

Abstract:
In the analysis of the teaching tactical characteristics of track and field sports training in colleges and universities, the teaching tactical characteristics are not quantified, which leads to the low key degree of determining the influencing factor indicators in colleges and universities, and the error in the evaluation of the teaching tactical characteristics of track and field sports training is large. Therefore, this paper designs a method to analyze the tactical characteristics of college track and field sports training teaching based on deep neural network. Firstly, by analyzing the current situation of track and field sports training teaching in colleges and universities, it determines the areas that need to be improved in teaching. Then, by determining the factors of teaching environment, the core competitiveness of track and field teams, and the teaching ability of track and field coaches, these factors are determined as the key characteristics, the data basis is analyzed, and the unified data quantitative processing is carried out to determine the key factor indexes affecting the analysis of tactical characteristics. Finally, the deep neural network is introduced to construct the evaluation model of the tactical characteristics of college track and field sports training teaching, and the characteristic analysis results are further modified with the help of cascade noise reduction self-encoder to complete the analysis of the tactical characteristics of college track and field sports training teaching. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively analyze the teaching tactical characteristics of track and field sports training in colleges and universities and improve the performance of the evaluation of the teaching tactical characteristics of track and field sports training.

Abstract:
The aim of the study is a political analysis of the relationship between sports and politics based on an institutional approach using SWOT analysis. The author's hypothesis is based on the understanding that the interpenetration of politics and sports in the modern world is becoming global and comprehensive and will increase: the politicization of sports as a social institution and the entire sports sphere is acquiring a new political normality. The paper highlights the basic trends and the main socio-political opportunities, as well as the risks and threats associated with the use of high-performance sports for political and instrumental purposes. It is revealed that in the modern world, sport is not only an instrument of big politics, but also produces politics, ideology and political meanings. Sport in the world is increasingly becoming not only the arena of tough political confrontations and ideological battles, but also forms a new political reality that influences the social behavior of the broadest masses, as well as individual social groups and political actors. In the context of Russia's growing political confrontation in the international arena, a deep, including scientifically based, understanding of the role of sports in the new realities is necessary. The conclusions reached by the authors of the work can be used as a scientific and methodological basis for political science studies of the interdependence of politics and sports, as well as for making political decisions in the field of sports.

Abstract:
Broadcasters produce enormous numbers of sport videos in cyberspace due to massive viewership and commercial benefits. Manual processing of such content for selecting the important game segments is a laborious activity; therefore, automatic video content analysis techniques are required to effectively handle the huge sports video repositories. The sports video content analysis techniques consider the shot classification as a fundamental step to enhance the probability of achieving better accuracy for various important tasks, i.e., video summarization, key-events selection, and to suppress the misclassification rates. Therefore, in this research work, we propose an effective shot classification method based on AlexNet Convolutional Neural Networks (AlexNet CNN) for field sports videos. The proposed method has an eight-layered network that consists of five convolutional layers and three fully connected layers to classify the shots into long, medium, close-up, and out-of-the-field shots. Through the response normalization and the dropout layers on the feature maps we boosted the overall training and validation performance evaluated over a diverse dataset of cricket and soccer videos. In comparison to Support Vector Machine (SVM), Extreme Learning Machine (ELM), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and standard Convolution Neural Network (CNN), our model achieves the maximum accuracy of 94.07%. Performance comparison against baseline state-of-the-art shot classification approaches are also conducted to prove the superiority of the proposed approach.
