Abstract:
The ethics issue has been receiving massive attention of today’s managers due to the publicized scandals and cases of fraud, bankruptcy and others. For managerial convenience numerous ethical decision making models were proposed by researchers, but six models are widely accepted by ethics based practitioners (Ferrell, Fraedrich & Ferrell, 2008). Each model has unique characteristics, which enhances understanding about ethical dilemma. This paper reviewed the relevant literature and utilized seven models: (Kelly & Elm, 2003; Jones, 1991; Ferrell, Gresham & Fraedrich, 1989; Hunt & Vitell, 1986; Trevino, 1986; Ferrell & Gresham, 1985; Kohlberg, 1969) and then cultivated ethical decision-making model for Thai context. In addition, the authors also reviewed the literature on Thai culture and focused on Buddhist philosophy, beliefs, values and norms of Thai people. Finally, the Seven ethical decision making models and Buddhist philosophy were integrated together to propose a model for ethical decision making for Thai organization.

Abstract:

Abstract:
A long time ago, it was predicted by Larkin and Ovchinnikov and Fulde and Ferrell that the non-uniform superconducting state (FFLO state) must appear in the magnetic field acting on the electron spins. Up to now, there have been no unambiguous experimental proofs in the favour of this state observation. We discuss the unusual properties of such a state, which can permit its identification. It is demonstrated that in 2D (or quasi 2D) superconductors the FFLO state leads to an appearance of a very special oscillatory - like dependence of the upper critical field versus the angle with the respect to the layers. The new solutions, corresponding to the higher Landau level functions are realized, and the vortex lattice structures are quite exotic. Corresponding vortex states reveal the zeros of superconducting order parameter with high winding numbers. The predicted quasi-oscillatory angular and temperature dependence of Bc2, as well as a cascade of first order transitions must permit the unambiguous identification of mysterious FFLO state. Very recently the magnetic-field-induced superconductivity has been observed in the quasi two-dimensional (2d) organic conductor (BETS)2FeCI4 which is an excellent candidate for the observation of the discussed effects.

Abstract:
Recently a few works have been reported on Fulde-Ferrell-Larkin-Ovchinnikov (FFLO)state in d-wave superconductors in layered compounds. In strong contrast to 3D s-wave superconductors where the stripe like state appears, the square lattice like state is formed in d-wave superconductors in quasi-2D system and in a magnetic field within the conducting plane. Indeed there have been reported that FFLO state in beta-(ET) salts and lambda-(BEDT)_ 2GaC1_ 4,though they are not conclusive. We review our recent works on this subject. We propose NMR, STM or transport measurement will provide a definitive test for FFLO state.

Abstract:
Beyond navel-gazing and narcissism.Ferrell’s auto-ethnography as part of ethnography Beyond navel-gazing and narcissism.Ferrell’s auto-ethnography as part of ethnography The labeling of auto-ethnography as navel-gazing does not do justice to the variety with which auto-ethnography is applied. A distinction should be made between emotional and analytical auto-ethnography. In the first form the central person of the researcher plays the central role, in the second auto-ethnography is applied to get a better understanding of the social world which is being studied. In this article the author discusses the second approach by using the work of Jeff Ferrell. Ferrell is a well-known cultural criminologist, who focuses critically on the cultural understanding of social life. By looking at how Ferrell applies auto-ethnography, insight is gained into the added value of this method for qualitative studies: (1) the integration of the personal experiences of researchers in texts in order to achieve a richer description of the social worlds they explore, (2) making explicit the role of the researcher in publications, and (3) developing new (more appealing) forms of representation.
