The research of the control system of automatic feeding machine in the present paper can be applied in different mechanical designs – from simple key-press input of cycling days, multiple time intervals and the feeding amount to setting steps of numbers of stepping motor via the control of SMC by time setting. Abstract:
This study is about the design improvement of an automatic fish feeding machine. The most recent machine has been selected as the point of reference for this research. Realizing the limitation of existing automatic fish feeding machine has inspired the researcher to develop a system which overcomes previous systems’ flaws, hence giving more advantages and benefits to the owner and workers. This research has three main goals: To design and fabricate automatic fish feeding machine; to ensure an accurate amount of fish pellet to be dispersed at a predetermined time, 360° and at specified distance; and to generate electricity by using the solar panel as the power source to make it suitable for outdoor environment of fish farming. We developed a prototype to measure the ability of the new automatic machine concept. These include design improvement, storage capacity, ability and time for a pellet to dispense and the distance of food dispersed. The findings from the research showed that the use of vibration concept and gravity to channel down the fish pellet into the distribution channel has made this new design simpler. Also, the centrifugal force concept to disperse the pellet 360° is a major improvement from the previous design. Three projection angles of 0°, 15° and 30° were studied. Although the current study is based on a small sample, the findings suggest that the projection angle at 15° is the best for the current machine. We conclude that the new fish feeding machine has exceeded the performance of the previous machine in terms of functionality and design. However, with a small sample size, caution must be applied, as the finding might not be transferable to a large-scale fish farm environment. Several possible future studies using the same experiment set up are apparent.

For paper forward unit of the current forward type flute laminating machine, the contact surface of the paper forward unit may damage paper during high speed paper forwarding. In view of this phenomenon, a solution is proposed through the study on the feeding unit of the flute laminating machine. In this paper, the corresponding sprocket driveshaft is controlled by a servo motor to slowly forward paper at the beginning and accelerate its forwarding speed gradually, until the entire feeding process is completed. In this way, the problem of paper pile-up and damages during the paper forwarding process can be solved, while matching backing paper feeding, so as to improve the feeding accuracy of the full-automatic flute laminating machine and hence its laminating accuracy.

According to the design theory, two section type peanut harvesting characteristics is studied. A suitable northeast harvesting peanut picking machine is developed. It is applied with half feeding form according to the Liaoning advocate. A division 'Tangyou' series peanut harvesting style is applied for the design. The calculation of correlative parameters is made, the organization form defined, and the main structure was analyzed. The results show that the design of machines meets the peanut picking requirements. And in the fruit picking process to achieve the low damage rate, it can completely adapt to the requirements of the rural northeast.

This paper is a technical report which discusses a selfdeveloped automatic robot (machine) for glass furnace feeding. It was designed for use in a small-scale glass industry, in which most factories are still feeding small, old fashioned furnaces manually. The huge robot discussed in this paper is intended to substitute for exhausted workers. It was designed with four degrees of freedom and a planar manipulator structure, including X-axis and Y-axis translations, Z-axis rotation, and a belt scrolling motion for feeding the granular glass material into the furnace. The development and implementation of the mechanical and control systems are analyzed, including design considerations, motion using the teaching playback method, and feeding path planning. To ensure system safety and reliability, the necessity and the design of a redundant control systemare presented. Finally, the feeding quantity and quality control are discussed. Unlike other feeding machines, the robot fully utilizes robotic control components and technologies, which is considered another approach to real robotics application.

A high-efficiency biomass material was designed according to the densification mechanism of biomass. This machine improved the efficiency by recombining the feeding stage, prepressing stage, compaction stage, pressure-holding stage, and pushing stage of the compression process, so that part of the working stages was carried out simultaneously. To further improve efficiency and rationally allocate power at each stage, in this paper, we established a mathematical model for the machine. We use the nonlinear programming in Matlab (2016b) to solve the minimum value of the model, making the machine work time the shortest.

This paper describes the significance of exploiting and developing renewable energy under the current circumstance of fossil energy shortage. The paper introduces the working principle and the overall structure of the circular mold briquetting machine. In the transmission and feeding mechanism, the “one shaft” structure is used. The “Double-roller” is symmetrically arranged in the compression chamber, and the combination circular mold is adopted. It is shown in the structural analysis that the briquetting machine is of simple structure, high work efficiency, and low cost. Moreover, it can be conveniently repaired and replaced. The structural analysis provides significant theoretical basis for the optimal design of the briquetting machine.

In this paper, the entire structure and operating principles of the toss feeding typed stalk baler are introduced. The baler is mainly consisted of collecting, feeding, compression and knotting component. A Y-shaped straw chopper blade is used in the collecting. A combination component of auger and toss machine is adopted in the feeding system. The sliding block of compressor is driven by rod-crank mechanism. Structure analysis shows that the toss feeding typed straw baling machine has advantages of simple structure, high efficiency and low manufacturing cost. The test bed for micron paring machining is a kind of Computer numerical control (CNC) carpentry test beds. Movement of machine is controlled automatically according to processing instructions, machining of different raw materials can be realized by simply changing the processing instruction program. The test bed’s precision and its persistence are mainly guaranteed by the lathe bed, and have an air clamping device and its feeding mechanism includes a stepper motor for CNC feeding. At the end of the thesis, the conclusion of experiment presents widths of micron parings machined by cutting lengthways along the grain fall between 50~150 µm. With further analysis, around 72% of the parings are 60~100 µm thick, around 75% are 5~8 mm wide, around 78% are 65~75 mm long. The results show micron parings machined by the specialised test bed meet the design requirements for micron parings.

According to the existing problems of the automatic feeding mechanism of the injection molding machine, we used TRIZ confliction theory to improve the design. We installed original mention feeding platform on the shock hopper directly, raised the height of the cover and removed the gliding path to solve the problems of equipment which is need to be improved such as maintenance, debugging difficulties, which are maybe lead to instability of the equipment operation. This improvement not only simplifies the structure of the automatic feeding mechanism of the injection molding machine, but also reduces the cost. The automatic feeding mechanism of the injection molding machine, replacing a person, has improved the efficiency and reduced the cost of the button cell battery.

In this study, a multi-layer blending machine was designed to mix cotton evenly. Being put inside via the feeding port, cotton was spread evenly by the oscillator which moves from left to right back and forth successively. Subsequently, cotton was stored as the multi-layer fibrous cotton in the rear reserve tank. Delivered by the first and the second conveyer belt, the fibrous cotton was sent to the front storage chamber to be cut by a lattice which pulled and dragged the marching cotton vertically. Finally, the processed cotton was rolled out by a striper roller, falling at a certain spot as scheduled, after which spread and blended evenly and thoroughly.

A raw mill’s production line is to grind the raw material mixed with limestone, clay and basalt of certain proportion; it decides the quality of the cement clinker. The production efficiency and quality can be promoted by precisely controlling the proportion of the three raw materials and feeding automatically. The system’s controller is S7-400, and the measurement is done by the rotor scale produced by SHENCK. The variable speed device (VSD) of the feeder was controlled by the flow through the PID controller to realize the precise proportion. Moreover, the proportion can be set and the feeding quantity, the producing process can be monitored by the position machine (Win CC), to achieve production automation.

<p class="02abstracttext">In shrimp farming, feeding is an important activity to achieve good shrimp growth. Manual feeding manually using hand is less effective due to unequal food distribution. Thus, an automatic feeder is required to dispense feed at predetermined time. The advantages of automatic feeder are cost-effective, low labour requirement, and can be applicable for large volumes of feed. Design of automatic feeder machine can influence the capacity and time controlling of the feeder. In this research, the automatic feeder was designed using a controlling time system based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology. During plant trial, The automatic feeding was scheduled at 7 am, 11 am, 4 pm, and 8 pm. This machine could throw shrimp food homogeneously up to 10 m far for 2,500 m<sup>2</sup> pond area. In shrimp farming, distribution of shrimp food in predetermined time becomes an important rule to achieve good shrimp growth.</p>

Abstract:
The fan shaft sleeve is a very important part of the fan-related machine and has high demand for precision. At present, due to the lack of machine that exclusively for sleeve processing at home, the sleeve production largely depends on manual labor which yields very low productivity. This paper introduces an automatic machine for fan shaft sleeve processing which introduces the Omron PLC as the hardcore of the control system. The machine proposed also includes a cam splitter. Controlled by motors, clutches and retarders, the splitter provides 6 stations for feeding, drilling, taping, milling, chamfer and discharging. Driven by 3 phases AC motors and air tanks, the machine can mange the fan shaft sleeve processing automatically and achieves high productivity and quality.

Conventional methods to use a metal cavity having charcoal assisted with skewers in getting the final barbecue encounter a lot of limitations such as time, lower productivity, single temperature heating, worker fatigue, controlling of heat and time, energy consumption, importability, unhygienic food preparation (road-side open barbecuing) and cost-effectiveness etc. The proposed research considers the design and fabrication of barbecue machine fueled with gas and actuated by electrical cum mechanical systems. This electromechanical semi-automatic barbecue machine overcomes the stated limitations. It will be an important tool used for household as well as commercial use. This machine capacity is to barbecue an average of 4.5 kg of meat at a time. The machine is divided into three chambers. In first chamber barbecue is kept on lower temperature for high time. Once it completes its first stage motor attached with chain drive mechanism is activated and it brings the food to second chamber. In the second chamber, it takes lower time on high temperature and when it finishes it is conveyed to first chamber for un-feeding. The aim of this research is also to commercialize the product in the market targeting small scale industries and people involved in road side barbecue production, restaurants and other organizations.

The authors propose a methodology for determining technological parameters for the machine implementation of the preparation and distribution of feed mixture at cattle breeding facilities. The proposed methodology can be used to determine the optimal ratio parameters of the number of technical means for preparing a feed mixture and the number of operations performed for feeding cattle with multi-component feed mixtures. It was developed taking into account livestock breeding requirements and standards. The authors present an analysis that takes into account the European, Russian and American experience of the technology of organizing cattle feeding. This methodology applies to facilities (a farm) practicing year-round keeping of animals, where a concrete feed table is mounted in the same plane with the passage for technical equipment: a tractor, an aggregated or self-propelled mixer dispenser, as well as an auxiliary technical means – a feed pusher or its substitute attachments on the tractor. The feed mixture is dispensed on both sides. Taking into account the strategy of organizing the technological process of cattle feeding, the proposed method allows determining the optimal construction parameters of livestock facilities at the design stage, as well as the number and productivity of the machines used.

Terminal cutting machine is an automatic device that can realize automatic feeding, bending, cutting the middle carry, shearing. It can be easily integrated with other automatic devices to form a whole production line. In this paper, the cam mechanism is used to realize bending and cutting the middle carry, hydraulic drive structure is used to realize terminal feeding and cutting. A reasonable working time sequence among various processes is necessary to ensure the right working order and avoid the interference. The point of the control is to know which processing step it is by using photoelectric sensors to detect several key positions of the cam. The detecting signal is received by the PLC and hence from there to control all processing steps executed in an ordered and cyclic matter. The timing sequence solution introduced in this paper has been successfully implemented in a terminal cutting machine.

An automatic measurement and matching machine for columned batteries is developed in this study. The automatic machine consists of a battery feeding case, an intermittent separation feeding mechanism, a test region, eight classification transport channels, and battery depositary boxes. Besides the mechanism design, a human-machine interface and control program are written in VB language. The program provides the control and monitoring program for the auto-measurement system. The program cannot only read the measurement data and control the automatic machine, but also store these data and provide the test data histories for each cell supplier to the user. The experimental results show that the automatic machine could examine and classify the columned battery cells efficiently and decrease the demand of manpower. The results also show that the total measured and sorting quantity of one machine for eight hours is about 5760 pieces, which is greater than the 3500 pieces measured by one manpower.

A new model of fly-wheel type chaffcutter was designed and the feeding mechanism and chopper design were described in detail in this paper. The theoretical calculation result verifies that each of the construction parameters can be able to satisfy the designing requirements. Then a performance test was conducted for the chaffcutter taking the production efficiency, fodder cutting quality and power consumption as the main check target of performance and the testing result reveals that the fodder cutting quality appears to be satisfactory and the power consumption is also within the limits acceptable when the productivity is around 780 kg/h, but the fodder cutting quality is hard to be guaranteed when the productivity goes beyond the one of 900 kg/h. The achievement in this study may provide a certain references for the design and test of chaffcutter.

With integral separation algorithm being introduced in the controller, the speed of numerical control system, track speed and positioning accuracy are guaranteed in order to achieve optimal specification for dynamic and static characteristics of the whole system.

The paper presents the work of analysis of Automated G-clip Paperclip machine of using Solidworks Simulation and a comparison between results of each analysis in cutting process using design of experiment (DOE) and followed by design verification of simulating the cutting process after design changes. It emphasizes on the analysis of process and additional substation process to overcomes current machining problem. The current problem is occurred at the cutting station, which lead to poor quality product. There is two-design stage, which is preliminary of design of experiments conducted in order to fulfill the design validity and design verification. Application of longitudinal cyclic transfer system in feeding with pre-straightener substation is implied for comprehensive feeding of the wire with 1.3 mm diameter in 2 second. Forming dies with stepper motor controller give the precise positioning and repeatability of movement since good stepper motors have an accuracy between 3 5% of a step and this error is non-cumulative from one step to the next. By incorporating the new station in simulation procedure for this machine, it shows that the product quality is improved.

Microelectrode fabrication is the fundamental and influence factor of micro electric discharge machining. As for the efficiency of microelectrode fabrication, this paper proposed a fast online microelectrode fabrication method by an efficient horizontal micro electric discharge machine, in which an online diamond wheel ultra-precision grinding method and an online wire electrical discharge grinding method is combined to fabricate microelectrode. Machine designed in this paper consist of a CCD online dimension examination system, precision motion and feeding system, nanosecond-pulse independent discharged power supply and gap state-detection system. experimental study on microelectrode, micro nozzle fabrication and microstructure milling by the machine conducted. Microelectrode with 15 micrometers in diameter and micro hole with 50 micrometers in diameter are done in experiment. Results show that the composite method improves the efficiency of micro electrical discharge machining.

Measuring the forces that work during machining has been being concerned by researchers for years. There are three main forces that work in turning: thrust force, axial force, and radial force. Thus, feeding force measurement is needed in machine manufacturing. This research attempts to develop measurement method through feeding force, using strain gauge sensor. The aim of measurement of feeding force in this research is to find out the influence parameter of machine towards feeding force. The research used experimental method with design experiment Taguchi to know the influence of machine parameters to feeding force in turning process. The measurement tool is strain gauge sensor connected to cutting tool. The workspace is alluminium 6061 with 15 mm in diameter and 150 mm in length. The parameters for this research are speed rate (140 rpm, 215 rpm, and 330 rpm), feed rate (0,043 mm/r , 0,065 mm/r , and 0,081 mm/r), and depth of cut (0,2 mm, 0,4 mm, and 0,6 mm). The result showed that speed rate is the most significant parameter, with the contribution percentage is 92 %. Speed rate and feed rate parameter have insignificant influence. The contribution percentage of speed rate is 2% while the feed rate has % contribution percentage. The conclusion of the research is that the bigger number of speed rate, the bigger feeding force it will have.

The fish feed spreader machine is a feeding tool that is made to facilitate fish breeders in feeding fish. The fish feed spreader is specially programmed to provide fish feed according to the schedule and the desired dose. The purpose of making this tool is to design a fish feed spreader machine based on the logic controller programmale, and to test the performance of the designed fish feed spreader machine. The results showed that the average feed expenditure was 2.66 kg for a duration of 40 seconds. Then for the farthest throw of feed is 7.5 meters, while for throw of feed that is evenly distributed it has a distance of 5 meters with a spread width of 5.85 meters, and the angle of spread of feed is 90º.

The method of numerical simulation is used to optimize the cutting tool, and then the experiment platform is completed. Rotary impact and the stress concentration effect of the surface of the bar are used in the paper. The experiment is carried out for the Φ8 mm diameter stainless steel bar stock by changing the speed of the cutting tool through the converter and controlling rod feeding efficiency. The experimental results show that the method is feasible to meet the requirement of various material of the small diameter rod in the industry.

This work describes a method of minimizing wear and extending the life of machinery components and large, complex machine structures by controlling the overall system dynamics. The method consists of the following steps: first, developing a system dynamics model for the entire machine structure using available rigid multi-body dynamic analysis computer codes; second, obtaining dynamic performance data from the system dynamics model for each sliding contact in the actual machine, and feeding this information into a suitable wear model which is either being used or developed for the particular material combination; third, matching the results of the wear prediction with actual machine wear inspection data; and last and most important, returning to the dynamic analysis model and modifying or redesigning the machine to minimize the intensity of the system dynamics, thus extending the wear life of the components. The method is being developed for application to large, complex machines which have numerous sliding contacts. Many of these contacts are at junctions between subcomponents assembled together. These junctions are often designed to accommodate relative motion due to vibration or thermal mismatches. After the initial analyses have been done, both minor and major mechanical design and material changes must be investigated to determine how effectively these could reduce wear. Each successive configuration can be evaluated using the dynamic analysis model. Application of this approach to the mechanical design of a gas turbine combustor reduced the noise level of the entire system and tripled the average machine life.
