Abstract:
Artykuł podejmuje analizę najstarszych świadectw dotyczących ustanowienia i obchodów modlitw i procesji błagalnych. Potwierdzenie zapoczątkowanego przez biskupa Mamerta z Vienne zwyczaju znajdujemy w listach Apolinarego Sydoniusza oraz homiliach Fausta z Riez, Awita z Vienne, Cezarego z Arles oraz Grzegorza z Tours, a także w kanonach Synodu w Orleanie. Wskazują one na zwyczaj, którego obchód przyjął się w trzech dniach poprzedzających święto Wniebowstąpienia Pańskiego, a jego ustanowienie związane było z ówczesnymi zagrożeniami oraz niezwykłymi zjawiskami. Praktyka wspólnej, procesjonalnej modlitwy oraz pokuty przyjęła się nie tylko w Vienne, lecz rozszerzyła się w szybkim tempie na całą Galię, by w najistotniejszych elementach przetrwać do naszych czasów.

Abstract:
Abstract. The subsurface dissolution of soluble rocks can affect areas over a long period of time and pose a severe hazard. We show the benefits of a combined approach using P-wave and SH-wave reflection seismics, electrical resistivity tomography, transient electromagnetics, and gravimetry for a better understanding of the dissolution process. The study area, “Esperstedter Ried” in northern Thuringia, Germany, located south of the Kyffhäuser hills, is a large inland salt marsh that developed due to dissolution of soluble rocks at approximately 300 m depth. We were able to locate buried dissolution structures and zones, faults and fractures, and potential fluid pathways, aquifers, and aquitards based on seismic and electromagnetic surveys. Further improvement of the model was accomplished by analyzing gravimetry data that indicates dissolution-induced mass movement, as shown by local minima of the Bouguer anomaly for the Esperstedter Ried. Forward modeling of the gravimetry data, in combination with the seismic results, delivered a cross section through the inland salt marsh from north to south. We conclude that tectonic movements during the Tertiary, which led to the uplift of the Kyffhäuser hills and the formation of faults parallel and perpendicular to the low mountain range, were the initial trigger for subsurface dissolution. The faults and the fractured Triassic and lower Tertiary deposits serve as fluid pathways for groundwater to leach the deep Permian Zechstein deposits, since dissolution and erosional processes are more intense near faults. The artesian-confined saltwater rises towards the surface along the faults and fracture networks, and it formed the inland salt marsh over time. In the past, dissolution of the Zechstein formations formed several, now buried, sagging and collapse structures, and, since the entire region is affected by recent sinkhole development, dissolution is still ongoing. From the results of this study, we suggest that the combined geophysical investigation of areas prone to subsurface dissolution can improve the knowledge of control factors, hazardous areas, and thus local dissolution processes.

Abstract:
The fluid-solid coupling analysis of the nonlinear rotor-bearing system with labyrinth seal was presented. The dynamic equations of rotor-bearing system were built up by combining d’Alemdert principle with Rize way, then the nonlinear oil film forces based on steady short bearing model, unbalanced excitation forces and gas excitation forces calculated by FLUENT could be coupled to system. Such nonlinear equations were numerically solved by Newmark integration method. The dynamics and the representation characteristics were investigated through a lot of numerical calculations, then the occurrence and development mechanism of the different coupling faults revealed based on the results of numerical calculation. The severity and mutation of some faults were also studied.

Quixote is the second in the California-based Classics in Miniature series of short film versions of literary classics performed by puppets. The first film, Faust, was launched in 2008, and reviewed by Joachim Beug in Scenario 2008, Issue 2 (see http://publish.ucc.ie/scenario/2008/02/beug/09/en). The double challenge of condensing a work as vast as Cervantes’s Don Quijote – the text runs to about a thousand pages in most standard-format editions – into a film which lasts a half an hour and in which all the roles are performed by puppets is obviously very great, and all the more so when one considers that, according to the project website (www.classicsinminiature.com), this film, like the others in the series, is aimed at the “educational market (from age 12 through university) and to the general public”, and is “for everyone – young and old, cynical and romantic.” The implication that the creators of the series are conscious of the risks of over-simplification and sentimentalizing – risks which they might afford to incur if young children were, exclusively, their target audience – seems clear. Les rejetons sans famille ont beaucoup souffert de leur condition, et l’Ancien Régime et le XIX ème siècle nous ont transmis l’image d’enfants rejetés, battus, promis à un destin terrible. Cette vision n’est pas fausse, mais elle tend à présenter ces individus comme des victimes par nature. Pourtant, dans les campagnes, les enfants de l’Assistance publique ne consentent pas toujours à l’injustice. Injures, calomnies, vengeances et actes de malveillance constituent en effet une forme de résistance. La cruauté envers les bêtes illustre à la fois un refus de l’humiliation et, paradoxalement, une impuissance, une faiblesse face aux abus.

Résumé Raï, norme sociale et référence religieuse II a été souvent répété que le Raï vantait les plaisirs de l'alcool et de l'amour libre. Cela ne signifierait rien si l'on ne montrait comment ces thèmes, et d'autres, s'articulent avec le rappel des normes, notamment religieuses. Le spleen inhérent au Raï doit beaucoup de sa force d'expression à cet état psychologique du « porte-à-faux » religieux. La chanson raï présente sans fausse pudeur les contradictions entre pulsions et contraintes, entre désirs individuels et nonnes socioreligieuses, entre idéologies concurrentes. Comme l'indique le nom du genre (Raï signifie « opinion », « libre choix »), l'être humain est libre, non seulement de son choix mais aussi de ne pas choisir et de tenter de concilier l'inconciliable. Ce bricolage existentiel, ce surgissemcnt funambulesque de l'individuel se fait bien souvent par la manipulation du réfèrent religieux. Abstract:
La collection d’Eusèbe Gallican, ou collection gallicane, constitue un recueil patristique de sermons provençaux tardo-antiques, dont la complexité repose principalement sur les incertitudes liées à leur attribution et à leur organisation sous la forme d’une collection. Les difficultés méthodologiques posées par ce corpus expliquent le faible nombre d’études à son sujet, malgré l’importance de sa transmission manuscrite au Moyen Âge. Cette thèse propose une étude de la collection gallicane fondée sur une approche méthodologique nouvelle qui se traduit par deux objectifs complémentaires : 1. aborder ce corpus de manière dynamique, en diachronie ; 2. retracer le continuum entre la prédication tardo-antique, la compilation médiévale et la transmission de celle-ci. La première partie de cette étude constitue ainsi un questionnement méthodologique visant à mieux comprendre la nature et le fonctionnement des compilations, à travers l’analyse de la collection d’Eusèbe Gallican. Au-delà de l’observation générale de cette collection, cette recherche s’appuie sur l’analyse d’une série issue de cette collection, les dix Sermones ad monachos, attribuées à Fauste de Riez, troisième abbé de Lérins au milieu du Ve siècle. L’examen de cette série autonome révèle l’existence de deux versions parallèles, associées respectivement au nom de Césaire et à celui d’Eusèbe.Cette caractéristique nécessite d’adapter les outils méthodologiques à ce type de corpus, en proposant un projet de double édition, montrant la complémentarité entre une édition papier et une édition numérique. Cette dernière permet de rendre compte de la nature dynamique des séries parallèles et d’apporter une nouvelle contribution à l’étude des collections d’homélies patristiques. La deuxième partie de ce travail développe l’analyse des Sermones ad monachos à travers un commentaire thématique abordant les différents enjeux de cette série, d’un point de vue diachronique et sous différents aspects, littéraires, religieux et historiques. Ces différentes lectures visent à mieux apprécier les fonctions qu’a pu revêtir l’ascèse prônée parla série, tant dans une perspective exclusivement monastique, et notamment dans le contexte lérinien du Ve siècle, que plus largement dans une pastorale adressée à tout chrétien. La troisième partie de cette étude présente une nouvelle édition des Sermones ad monachos, dans sa version eusébienne, avec une traduction inédite et commentée
The Eusebius Gallicanus collection, also called collectio gallicana, constitutes a patristic compendium of late-antique Provençal sermons, whose complexity is mainly based on the uncertainties linked to their attribution and their organization in the form of a collection. The methodological difficulties of this corpus explain the small number of studies on it, despite the importance of its manuscript transmission in the Middle Ages. This thesis proposes astudy of the Eusebius Gallicanus collection based on a new methodological approach, whichis built on two complementary objectives : 1. observing this corpus in a dynamic way, indiachrony ; 2. analysing the continuum between the late-antique predication, the medieval compilation and its transmission. The first part of this research thus constitutes a methodological questioning aimed at better understanding the nature and functioning ofcompilations, through the analysis of the Eusebius Gallicanus collection. Beyond the generalobservation of this collection, this research is founded on the more precise analysis of a seriesfrom this collection, the ten Sermones ad monachos, attributed to Faustus of Riez, third abbotof Lérins in the middle of the fifth century. The examination of this autonomous series revealsthe existence of two parallel versions, associated respectively to the name of Caesarius or thatof Eusebius. This characteristic requires an adaptation of the methodological tools to this typeof corpus, proposing a double edition project, showing the complementarity between a paperedition and a digital edition. This one allows to show the dynamic nature of the parallel series and provides a new contribution to the studies of patristical collections of sermons. The second part of this research work develops the analysis of the Sermones ad monachos through a thematic commentary dealing with the different issues of this series, from a diachronic point of view and under different aspects, literary, religious and historical. These different readings aim to better appreciate the functions of the asceticism developed by the series, both from anexclusively monastic perspective, in the particular context of Lérins in the 5th century, but also more widely in a pastoral discourse addressed to all Christians. The third part of this study presents a new edition of the Sermones ad monachos, in its Eusebian version, with an un published and commented translation

Abstract:
La recherche analyse les représentations de l’enfer à travers l’étude de l’évolution de sa géographie et de sa structure entre l’antiquité tardive et le haut Moyen Âge dans les sources littéraires.La thèse montre comment entre le II et le III après J. C . l’enfer fût employé comme un synonyme d’enfers avec le significat de lieu de l’atteinte du jugement. L’idée de la punition du feu était connue à partir des premières siècles du christianisme avec la parabole du pauvre Lazare et du riche narrée chez l’Evangile de Luc : cette parabole fut employée par les Peres de l’Eglise pour démontrer la séparation entre âmes impies à l’enfer et les âmes justes dans le sein d’Abraham. Par contre, la géographie de l’enfer ne fut pas entièrement décrite et, donc, ne fut pas encore si riche, jusqu’au V siècle, puisque les auteurs préférèrent faire un usage métaphorique de l’enfer, conçu comme un synonyme du mal dans la terre. À partir du V siècle, toutefois, les auteurs commencèrent à s’occuper du destin de l’âme après la mort et donc le représentations de l’enfer devinrent plus claires et caractérisées par une géographie plus définie, comme témoigné par des texte comme la Visio Pauli et les prédications de Faust de Ries et Augustin. À partir du VI siècle, avec Grégoire le Grand, l’enfer fut représenté comme le lieu de la damnation éternelle, surtout grâce à l’usage des modèles de la tradition ancienne et à l’association avec des lieux de la terre, comme les volcans de la Sicile, avec l’objectif de démontrer la vie de l’âme dans l’au-delà. Avec les visions du VII et VIII siècles la structure et la géographie de l’au-delà furent plus définies ensuite à sa division en trois parties, avec l’adjonction du purgatoire. Les auteurs du VII et VIII siècles employèrent des éléments et des imagines de la tradition précédente pour la représentation de l’enfer
The research analyzes the representations of hell through the study of the evolution of its geography and its structure between late antiquity and the early middle ages in the literary sources. It is highlighted how in an era between the second and fifth centuries A. D. the hell was used as a synonym for inferi with the meaning of a place of waiting before the final judgment. The idea of the punishment of fire after death was already known from the early centuries of Christianity with theparable of Lazarus the poor and the rich man, narrated in the Gospel of Luke: this parable was used by the Church Fathers to demonstrate the separation between wicked souls in hell and right souls placed in the bosom of Abraham. The geography of the underworld, however, was not fully described until at least the fifth century, because the authors preferred a metaphorical use, which represented hell as synonymous of evil and sin. Starting from the fifth century with greater attentionto the destiny of the soul in the moment following death, the descriptions of hell became clearer and characterized by a more defined geography, as evidenced by the text of Visio Pauli, Augustine and Faustus's preaching. From the sixth century, and in particular with pope Gregory the Great, hell was definitively represented as the seat of eternal damnation, also thanks to the help of models belonging to the ancient tradition and the association with some places on earth, such as the volcanoes of Sicily, all being used as an important political tool which the papacy appropriated to explain the activity of the soul in the otherworld, against an environment who denied it. With the visions of the seventh and eighth centuries, finally, the structure and geography of hell became more complicated and defined in three spaces, because the authors added the purgatory space. To describe the otherworld the visions of the seventh and eight centuries used the pictures and themes already employed in the previous centuries

Où en sommes-nous, trois siècles et demi après le coup d’envoi cartésien, de ce rapport à l'autre, au langage de l'autre? Tout ce que nous savons taire, dire ou hurler sur cette question, c'est que la liberté des autres s'arrête partout où commence la nôtre. S'arrête. Justement là où elle devrait continuer. Là où elle devrait s'épanouir. Car bien au-delà de la liberté qui n'en est jamais que son garde-fou, rien de plus, commence ce qui nous guide les uns vers les autres. Commence la démocratie. Commence le partage, aussi bien des pouvoirs que des savoirs. Cette idée hérétique à Jérusalem. Cette idée anarchiste à Athènes. Cette idée qui perce à nouveau dans le cogito cartésian, explose avec les grandes révolutions romantiques et finit par constituer l'idéal même de notre Modernité. Qui a tort? Qui a raison? Qui décidera?...Une chose est certaine, toutes les sociétés autoritaires fortement hiérarchisées ont rompu des lances et tenté d'anéantir toute vision se fondant sur un anthropocentrisme trop radical. Sauf la démocratie. L'idée d'un gouvernement des personnes par elles-mêmes a beau être là, dans la pensée, elle n'a jamais pris forme nulle part, dans la réalité. Sans doute faute d'un dégagement sérieux de ce que constituerait un cogito collectif, et des avantages humains que cela représenterait. Pour tous. Au détriment d'une seule chose: la volonté de pouvoir de quelques-uns. Par ce concept de diathèse, posé ici en rapport avec le cogito cartésien comme source de la connaissance et de la morale, je cherche donc: d'une part à renverser cette manière d'identité logique, trop logique, de penser les êtres et les choses dans l'oubli des autres et du monde, et d'autre part à amener la pensée commune à s'élargir non seulement à des relations d'ordre conceptuel, monologique, dialogique, dialogale ou autre, autrement impensables, mais encore à l'action et à la création, par une vision renouvelée, diathétique, de l'éducation.

Abstract In this paper, some low yield cases in Flat ROM device (0.45 and 0.6 µm) were investigated. To find killer defects and particle contamination, KLA, bitmap and emission microscopy techniques were used in fault isolation. Reactive ion etching (RIE) and chemical delayering, 155 Wright Etch, BN+ Etch and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used for identification and inspection of defects. In addition, energy-dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX) was used to determine the composition of the particle or contamination. During failure analysis, seven kinds of killer defects and three killer particles were found in Flat ROM devices. The possible root causes, mechanisms and elimination solutions of these killer defects/particles were also discussed.

Abstract:
Abstract Current methods used for package level destructive physical analysis (DPA) such as chemical and mechanical decapsulation methods, reactive ion etching (RIE) and diamond saw x-section methods could potentially result in artifacts such as die cracking, delamination or corrosion when used on complex packaging technologies such as multiple thin die stacked packages with combination of flip chip and wire bond interconnections. Many of the shortcoming of these ubiquitous DPA tools are being addressed by a laser milling approach to DPA. The system described in this paper consists of a ultraviolet (UV) laser used for local micromachining or milling to access package internal features and a near infrared(IR) laser used for precise soldering of fine wires to enable testing and fault isolation. Applications of the laser milling tool described in the paper are 1) Delayering of multilayer printed circuit board (PCB) substrates to expose internal metal traces so that they can be tested to fault isolate the failure without loosing electrical functionality of the product. 2) Silicon milling to expose flip chip interconnections. 3) Package cross sectioning and 4) Plastic package decapsulation.
