Abstract:
ABSTRACT The 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century were particularly important for the development of accounting theory. Various accounting historians have emphasized the key role of Italian scholars during this period (Amaduzzi 2001; Bariola 1897; Ceccherelli 1915; Luchini 1898; Melis 1950). One of the most important of these scholars was Fabio Besta. This paper presents both a biography of Fabio Besta and a discussion of his contributions to accounting thought. There are two primary motivations for this paper; namely (1) to contribute to the biographical strand of accounting history research, and (2) to develop a better understanding of the history of public sector/state accounting. Besta is acknowledged as one of the most important Italian scholars of the accounting discipline. His work, focusing on public administration, is remarkable for its clarity and depth, and it is of particular interest today for researchers of business and management, especially with regard to those aspects that differentiate private sector from public administration. Over a century after his death, Besta's work continues to be of great interest. In fact, the debate concerning accounting methods in the public sector has not yet been completely resolved, with the process of change from cash-based to accrual-based accounting still taking place in many countries.

Abstract:
- Giovanni Emanuele Barié, appointed Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at Milan University in 1937, is one of the most neglected figures in Italian philosophy of the last century. An exponent of late Italian idealism, it could be argued that only through his work, alongside that of others like Bernardino Varisco, Pantaleo Carabellese and Vito Fazio Allmayer, was Italian idealism able to reach full theoretical maturity. Born in Milan in 1894, before going to university, Barié displayed great courage on the battlefield during the first world war. On his return, he first studied Law and then took a second degree in Philosophy under Piero Martinetti. In 1933, his La spiritualitŕ dell'essere e Leibniz enabled him to obtain a university teaching post, first in Genoa, later in Rome and, finally, in Milan in the chair previously occupied by his mentor. The first period of Barié's work is characterized by a re-evaluation of the Kantian a priori against the reductionist perspective of contemporary thought. Books like La posizione gnoseologica della matematica (1925) and Oltre la Critica (1929) belong to this stage in his life. From 1933, Barié started on an interpretation of Hegel with the intention of toning down the transcendental aspects of Kant's and Martinetti's thought. His most important writings from this period are L'io trascendentale (1948) and his last work Il concetto trascendentale (1957), which came out in the same year the philosopher committed suicide.

Ever since the publication of Voting (Berelson et al. 1954), individual-level electoral studies have underscored the predictive utility of attitudes on voting behavior. More recently, developments in social psychology have led political scientists to examine closely the process by which attitudes guide behavior (Fazio 1986; Aldrich et al. 1989). Findings in this research generally suggest that attitudes must be available and accessible if they are to exert any influence on perceptions, judgments, or behavior.

Abstract:
Thirty years after its demolition, the House in Jean Mermoz (Fabio Cruz Prieto, 1956-1961), a foundational work of the Valparaíso School, regains substance thanks to a design investigation with the aim of recovering the invaluable experience of being on site. However, what was recreated in 2021 was not strictly a replica but rather what was never seen of the house: the formwork system of the concrete structure. In light of the paradox of replacement by Heraclitus and Plato, and Aristotle's causes, two referential cases are analyzed—the Ise Shrine (7th century) and the Barcelona Pavilion (1929). This raises the need for a fifth cause; the contextual one. Finally, the article presents a critical reflection on the case of the recreation of the House in Jean Mermoz within the issue of architectural reconstructions.

Studio sulla soggettività in Merleau-Ponty presents precise and original research along several nodes of great importance in Merleau-Ponty’s philosophical production, such as subjectivity, expression, passivity, nature, history. By focusing on, without limiting himself to, the 1950’s period, the author declares that he aims at a denaturalization of nature and a dehistoricization of history: an overcoming of dichotomies which, though faithfully following the Merleau-Pontian path, does not fail to have a Deleuzian overtones. The issues of the book are also, and above all, political, shown in the considerations of the task of philosophy.

Abstract:
Background: Paranasal sinus mucocele is the epithelium lined mucus filled sac causing enlargement of sinus wall. It can cause bone erosion and displacement of surrounding structures. Mucoceles usually occur due to infection, inflammation, trauma, previous surgeries, and tumours which can potentially obstruct the sinus ostium. Cranio facial trauma is the commonest cause for mucocele formation. Case report: A 50yr old male patient came with chief complaints of swelling on forehead since 1yr. The patient had history of road traffic accident 13yrs ago for which he underwent facio-maxillary reconstruction along with right eye evisceration. Later he developed a swelling above right eye after 7yrs, which was diagnosed as mucocele and was treated by frontal cranioplasty. Now he came with complaint of swelling on forehead which was gradually increasing in size. MRI-PNS was done showing fluid filled space extending anteriorly from cutaneous plane in the frontal region going posteriorly over the orbit pushing the contents of the orbit inferiorly and medially and extending posteriorly up to orbital apex. Patient underwent endoscopic mucocele drainage and DRAF 3. Right orbital exenteration was done to prevent recurrence. Patient was on follow up since then and no symptoms or signs of recurrence is noted. Conclusion: Facial trauma may be one of the reasons for development of mucocele where sinus drainage pathways are deranged. As in our case trauma not only led to development of mucocele, but new spaces also created by the treatment lead to extensive spread of the mucocele.

Abstract:
The photographic presence of women on war in journalism and the gender inequality suffered by women are often ignored in previous investigations. This study focuses on analyzing the photographic images of women published in the monthly illustrated magazine 'Liang You' during the Second Sino-Japanese War, with the aim of knowing the presence of Chinese women and verifying the existence of inequality of gender suffered during the war. To this end, the photographs published from 1937 to 1945 have been qualitatively studied following the theories of Vilches (1983) and Facio (2009). The quantity and regularity of the publication are analyzed in this study. The areas in which women enter, women’s identities and activities shown in photographs are investigated. We find that the presence of women on war is active in journalism. Chinese women appear in family, social, educational and work environments. They have diverse identities as social activists, nationalists and protestors. However, they are despised, subordinate and marginalized because they suffer the limitations built by a sexist society with a low level of development. We argue that it is necessary to maintain a vision of gender equality in the study of war to reveal the silent history of women and understand their submission in a purely masculine world.

Abstract:
The American otolaryngologist Eagle was the first to describe styloid syndrome in 1937. Stylohyoid complex is composed of styloid process, stylohyoid ligament and a lesser horn of the hyoid bone. Embriologicaly, these anatomical structures originate from Reichert's cartilage of the second brachial arch. In the general population, the frequency of the elongated styloid process is estimated to be 4%, of which only 4% show clinical manifestations suggesting that the incidence of styloid syndrome is 0.16% (about 16,000 persons in Serbia). The styloid process deviation causes external or internal carotid impingement and pains which radiate along the arterial trunk. Classical stylohyoid syndrome is found after tonsillectomy and is characterized by pharyngeal, cervical, facial pain and headache. Stylo-carotid syndrome is the consequence of the pericarotid sympathetic fibres irritation and compression on the carotid artery. Clinical manifestations are found most frequently after head turning and neck compression. The diagnostic golden standard for styloid syndrome is 3D CT reconstruction. Sagital CT angiography has a leading role in the radiological diagnosis of the stylo-carotid syndrome. Differential diagnosis requires the differentiation of the styloid syndrome from numerous cranio-facio-cervical painful syndromes. If conservative treatment (analgesics, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, and local infiltration with steroids or anaesthetic agents) has no effect, surgical treatment is applied. Styloid syndrome is underrepresented in neurological literature. The syndrome is considered important, because it is clinically similar to many other painful cranio-facial syndromes; it is difficult to be recognized, and the patient should be treated adequately.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction: Radical cystectomy is the standard of care for muscle invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). Radiotherapy (RT) is a bladder preserving option that offers patients comparable survival rates. However, up to 30% of patients require salvage cystectomy. Emerging evidence points to an important yet poorly understood link between response to RT and the tumor microenvironment (TME). Notably, tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) are being investigated as a potential local hub for mounting an immune response. These lymph-node-like structures are highly organized with a B cell zone surrounded by T cells. Mature TLS also have an active germinal center (GC) with follicular dendritic cells. A number of studies correlated TLS with improved outcomes in several types of solid cancers. Here, we explore the use of TLS and its associated immune TME as a predictive biomarker for response to RT in MIBC. Methods: Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) stained formalin-fixed-paraffin-embedded sections of pre-RT biopsy from 147 MIBC patients were examined to identify TLS presence with confirmation from a pathologist. Subsequent multiplex immunohistochemistry (mIHC) staining with CD21 and CD23 characterized TLS maturity. To investigate the interaction between TLS and TME, tissue microarrays (TMAs) were constructed, and gene expression profiles were obtained for 106 patients using NanoString’s Digital Spatial technology. Moreover, the TMAs were stained with CD20, Neutrophil Elastase, CD68, CD8, CD4, and FoxP3 by mIHC. Image analysis was performed on the Halo platform. TLS gene signature was correlated to the immune infiltration and the patient outcomes. Results: H&E revealed that 19.7% of patients (n=68) had TLS with a GC, 17.0% (n=25) had TLS without a GC, and 12.9% (n=19) had no TLS. In the remaining 50.3% of cases (n=74), confirmation of TLS presence required staining with CD3 and CD20. Gene expression of TLS marker CXCL13 was higher among complete responders to RT (p-value=0.0440). This trend was weakened when we examined a previously described 12-chemokine TLS signature (p= 0.1506). When segregating patients into TLS high/TLS low groups based on the gene signature, we observed significantly higher infiltration of CD8+ T cells (p<0.0001), neutrophils (p=0.005), regulatory T cells (p=0.0278), and B cells (p=0.0247) among the TLS high group. No difference in macrophage infiltration was observed between the two groups. Conclusion: Our results point to a nuanced role of TLS in the context of response to RT and in relation to the TME. Further histological analysis of TLS characteristics is necessary to paint a picture of the different immune profiles we observe in our cohort and their association with the outcomes of RT. Overall, our study could identify an immune signature that could serve as a selection criterion for patients who would benefit the most from bladder-sparing therapies. Abstract:
Palabras clave: “Día del Papa”, Pio XI, Ildebrando Antoniutti, Isidro GomáTopónimos: España, Santa SedePeriodo: Guerra Civil ABSTRACTThe “success of Ultramontanism” during the contemporary era has marked the evolution of Catholicism over the last few centuries, granting the Pope greater control over a Church looking to Rome with a view to submitting to the methods and the provisions of the heir of Saint Peter. In Spain, this evolution was accompanied by both the bond between Catholic and National identities and the division among Catholics over the different political agendas presented since the emergence of liberalism. Both phenomena had a decisive influence upon the internal struggle within the rebel faction with regard to the direction to be taken by the state in the wake of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).This work shows how the celebration of “Pope’s day” in the Francoist zone during the Spanish Civil War was not so much an expression of faith as a political and propaganda gesture to demonstrate support for the Pope within and beyond Spain. The call for exaltation of the Pope contrasted with unequal observance of his instructions and distrust of his attitude towards the warring parties. Abstract:
Abstract: I will make an approach of the education in Kierkegaard's philosophical point of view, therefore, an introduction to Kierkegaard's philosophy. Education is understood in the sense of the Greek paidéia. Just as paidéia inclines toward the areté, in the same way Kierkegaardian paideia demands the modification of existence. The method of indirect communication is the form of education, and thus the teaching of the authentic teacher stems from his "acquired originality" by reduplicating into his existence, which teaches appropriating, that is, being himself, what he teaches. On the contrary, the learned teacher has only an "immediate and first originality" and, therefore, only transmits and exhibits his vast knowledge without reduplicating it. The pseudonymous and religious production are the two eyes of Kierkegaard to see the same question: to become self and its imbrication with effective reality. Keywords: Kierkegaardiana Paidéia. Self. Abstract:
