Abstract:
The modern economy is characterized by a high level of dynamism of the factors of the external and internal environment of enterprises, influencing the possibility of their stable development. With the transition of the Russian economy to market methods of doing business, in which enterprise management must take into account various scenarios, risk becomes an integral element of socio-economic relations. Risk is present in all spheres of life, regardless of whether its presence is taken into account in the situation of choosing an alternative method of managing a business entity or not. The presence of risk is a significant factor in the development of business and the economy as a whole. To minimize and neutralize risks, the enterprise must constantly ensure its safety. In modern conditions, due to the pandemic and economic downturn, enterprises are forced to revise their methods of safety management and risk neutralization. This monograph, dedicated to modern problems of business security management, is the result of the joint work of teachers and students of the Department of Economic Security, Accounting and Law of the Don State Technical University.

Full text
Abstract:
In the monograph the literature information about the nature of stochastic processes and their participation in the work of the brain and human behavior. Established that the real cognitive processes and mental functions associated with the procedural side of external events and the stochastic properties of the internal dynamics of brain systems in the form of fluctuations of their parameters, including cardiac rhythm generation and sensorimotor reactions. Experimentally proved that the dynamics of the measured physiological processes is in the range from chaotic regime to a weakly deterministic — fractal mode. Fractal mode determines the maximum order and organization homeostasis of cognitive processes and States, as well as high adaptive ability of the body systems with fractal properties. The fractal-chaotic dynamics is a useful quality to examine the actual physiological and psychological systems - a unique numerical identification of the order and randomness of the processes through calculation of fractal indices. The monograph represents the results of many years of experimental studies of the reflection properties of stochastic sensorimotor reactions, as well as stochastic properties of heart rate in children, Teens and adults in the age aspect in the speech activity and the perception of different kinds of music with its own frequency-spectral structure. Designed for undergraduates, graduate students and researchers that perform research and development on cognitive psychology and neuroscience.

Harlamova, Yuliya. The struggle for Eurasia in the focus of transport geostrategies. ru: INFRA-M Academic Publishing LLC., 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.12737/1243826.

Full text
Abstract:
The monograph examines the problems that play an important role in the processes of constructing transport geostrategies on the Eurasian continent. In the processes of redrawing the world's spaces, the transport sphere (along with financial and information) often acts as a catalyst for modern transformations. It is emphasized that thanks to transport networks, the economy on a global scale is structured in a completely specific way. To increase the potential of any state and society (the peoples living in it), the creation of conditions for communication community (in the broadest sense) is an integral component of its sustainability. The thesis is proved that the direction of the flow of many global integration or disintegration processes corresponding to the new world conditions depends on the reliable and fast operation of transport communications. Special attention is paid to the concept of the modern Chinese state "One Belt , One Road", which the Chinese elite actively promotes in the external space. Some aspects of the economic and transport development of the Arctic region in the context of the functioning of the Northern Sea Route are considered. Due attention is paid to the special role of Central Asia in the context of these problems, as well as the implementation of the international transport project "North - South". For students and teachers, as well as for anyone interested in economics and politics.

Keller, Thomas. Use of fibre reinforced polymers in bridge construction. Zurich, Switzerland: International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), 2003. http://dx.doi.org/10.2749/sed007.

Full text
Abstract:

The aim of the present Structural Engineering Document, a state-of-the-art report, is to review the progress made worldwide in the use of fibre reinforced polymers as structural components in bridges until the end of the year 2000.
Due to their advantageous material properties such as high specific strength, a large tolerance for frost and de-icing salts and, furthermore, short installation times with minimum traffic interference, fibre reinforced polymers have matured to become valuable alternative building materials for bridge structures. Today, fibre reinforced polymers are manufactured industrially to semi-finished products and ccimplete structural components, which can be easily and quickly installed or erected on site.
Examples of semi-finished products and structural components available are flexible tension elements, profiles stiff in bending and sandwich panels. As tension elements, especially for the purpose of strengthening, strips and sheets are available, as weil as reinforcing bars for concrete reinforcement and prestressing members for internal prestressing or external use. Profiles are available for beams and columns, and sandwich constructions especially for bridge decks. During the manufacture of the structural components fibre-optic sensors for continuous monitoring can be integrated in the materials. Adhesives are being used more and more for joining components.
Fibre reinforced polymers have been used in bridge construction since the mid-1980s, mostly for the strengthening of existing structures, and increasingly since the mid-1990s as pilot projects for new structures. In the case of new structures, three basic types of applications can be distinguished: concrete reinforcement, new hybrid structures in combination with traditional construction materials, and all-composite applications, in which the new materials are used exclusively.
This Structural Engineering Document also includes application and research recommendations with particular reference to Switzerland.
This book is aimed at both students and practising engineers, working in the field of fibre reinforced polymers, bridge design, construction, repair and strengthening.

Abstract:
This chapter explores the programmatic components of a successful strength-based school serving twice exceptional (2e) students in grades 4 through 12. The chapter first provides a brief overview of the school’s background to shed light on the unique learning needs of 2e students and discusses the institutional foundations and beliefs that best support student growth. An overview of the school’s Multiple Perspectives Model shows how faculty members focus on several factors—including students’ gifts and talents, learning differences, and family contexts—to make decisions about learning strategies in a dynamic educational environment. The school stresses the importance of a culture of appreciation of students’ strengths while differentiating and dual differentiating their curricula to move students forward to appropriate levels of depth and complexity in their learning. Finally, the chapter underscores the need for flexible school policies that embrace creative problem-solving and put the needs of the student above external rules and regulations.

Abstract:
The transition period from adolescence to young adulthood is the final phase of special education supports and services, which end with high school completion. The IDEA requirements for transition services are spelled out for the benefit of clinicians and parents who are not familiar with these features of the Individualized Education Program for students 16 years and older. Measurable postsecondary goals for education, employment, and, if needed, independent living are based on student strengths, preferences, and needs. Additional steps include the identification of necessary transition assessments to define progress toward those goals, development of a course of study, and the involvement of external agencies as desired to assist the student and family to attain future goals. Challenges in transition planning are discussed along with an array of potential positive and negative outcomes for youth with disabilities. A case study is included as a model of best practices in transition planning.

Abstract:
Becoming a practitioner in music therapy occurs at multiple levels. At an individual level the student’s processes and learning are part of thisbecoming. At an interpersonal level the interactions between students as a group and in collaboration with their educators, fieldwork supervisors, and clients shape and frame the development of professional competencies. At the wider systemic level the values and processes of training are influenced by the provider institution, usually a university, and the management and department in which the music therapy training programme is housed. This systemic level also includes the external regulator such as state or national accreditation structures and the requirements of the relevant professional body. This chapter presents how the profession of music therapy has considered aspects of professionalism, professional practice, and accreditation.

Abstract:
All books in this flagship series contain carefully selected substantial extracts from key cases, legislation, and academic debate, providing able students with a stand-alone resource. This chapter discusses EU law on international relations. The area of external relations has become increasingly important in recent years, as the EU strives to enhance its global presence on issues such as trade, climate change, development, human rights, and international terrorism. Some of the crucial issues for the conduct of EU international relations are effective coordination across policy fields, coordination between the EU and the Member States, and coordination at the level of international representation. Consistency across and between policies has become a constitutional requirement of EU external relations.

Abstract:
Bringing employees to a high level of education and keeping them there permanently is one of the core tasks of human resource development. In principle, the question is whether to entrust one's training needs to external providers or to realise this central task oneself. Many companies have reacted to the existing training and further education needs of their employees by founding their own academy. The opportunity to ensure the value of the "human capital" itself seems too important. Often, company-owned academies are only available to the company's own employees, but in some cases they are also open to external interested parties. As part of a cooperation between Academy Würth and the DHBW Heilbronn, students of the HR focus examined the possibilities of company education management. Abstract:
Developments in linguistics provided another external source of inspiration for students of ideology. ‘The struggle over political language’ explores the contribution of language to the development of ideology. The meaning of language — in particular the emphasis on grammar and semantics — played a critical role in enabling similar ideologies to be expressed in their own specific terms. Making sense of ideological texts became an increasingly important role for political theorists. From this emerged the four Ps of ideological composition: proximity, priority, permeability, and proportionality. These have provided an important tool for complex comparative analysis of ideologies.

Full text
Abstract:
In Agents of God, sociologist Jeffrey Guhin describes his year and a half spent in two Sunni Muslim and two Evangelical Christian high schools in the New York City area. At first, these four schools could not seem more different, yet they are linked by much: these are all schools with conservative thoughts on gender and sexuality, with a hostility to the theory of evolution, and with a deep suspicion of secularism. And they are all also hopeful that America will be a place where their children can excel, even as they also fear the nation’s many temptations might lead their children astray. Guhin shows how these school communities use boundaries of politics, gender, and sexuality to distinguish themselves from the outside world, both in school and online. Within these boundaries, these communities have developed “external authorities” like Science, Scripture, and Prayer, each of which is felt and experienced as a real power with the ability to make commands and coerce action. For example, people can describe Science itself as showing something or the Bible itself as making a command. By offloading coercion to these external authorities, leaders in these schools are able to maintain a commitment to religious freedom while simultaneously reproducing their moral commitments in their students. Drawing on extensive classroom observation, community participation, and interviews with students, teachers, and staff, this book makes an original contribution to religious studies, sociology, and education.

The final chapter summarizes the benefits of clinician support for students and families who experience academic challenges and learning problems. A review of issues covered in this volume includes the definition of learning disability, challenges in understanding differences between school and external evaluations, differences in terminology, and the lack of congruence between parental expectations for schools and what schools may actually (and appropriately) offer. Recommendations for clinicians include the importance of obtaining a thorough academic history and consideration of school performance as a critical piece of the diagnostic and treatment picture. The impact of related disorders, such as ADHD and executive function deficits, is discussed. Clinicians are advised to become familiar with school-based legal requirements, evaluations, and identification procedures for the benefit of students and their parents.

Abstract:
This chapter explores the use of e-learning as a format for training communication skills within a degree level module in non-malignant palliative care. It discusses the need for such training before evaluating the benefits e-learning has to offer as a learning tool in the healthcare context. It describes how a ‘blended learning’ approach was taken with one study day combined with online interactive learning materials. Online exercises such as ‘drag and drop’ were used to facilitate students’ learning, together with the use of videos, external online links, and reflective diaries. The development of a summative assignment is discussed and its need to assess students’ use of these skills in clinical practice. Finally, the future developments of the e-learning platform to further enrich the students’ learning experience are presented. These include the use of online forums, both synchronous and asynchronous, which encourage peer-to-peer and peer-to-tutor communication.

Abstract:
An emphasis on education has long been a salient feature of the Jewish experience. Historians of the early modern and modern era frequently point to the centrality of educational institutions and pursuits within Jewish society, yet the vast majority treat them as merely a reflection of the surrounding culture. Only a small number note how schools and teachers could contribute in dynamic ways to the shaping of local communities and cultures. This volume addresses this gap in the portrayal of the Jewish past by presenting education as an active and potent force for change. It moves beyond a narrow definition of Jewish education by treating formal and informal training in academic or practical subjects with equal attention. In so doing, it sheds light not only on schools and students, but also on informal educators, youth groups, textbooks, and numerous other devices through which the mutual relationship between education and Jewish society is played out. It also places male and female education on a par with each other, and considers students of all ages, religious backgrounds, and social classes. The book spans two centuries of Jewish history, from the Austrian and Russian empires to the Second Republic of Poland and the Polish People’s Republic. It highlights the centrality of education in the vision of numerous Jewish individuals, groups, and institutions across eastern Europe, and the degree to which this vision interacted with forces within and external to Jewish society. In this way, the book highlights the interrelationship between Jewish educational endeavours, the Jewish community, and external economic, political, and social forces.
