Abstract:
China and Russia are important agricultural countries in the world. Expanding exports and increasing sales of agricultural products play an important role in the economic development of both countries. To understand the current situation of agricultural exports of the two countries and formulate strategies to expand the marketing of agricultural products, this paper uses the UN Comtrade Database 2009-2018 on Chinese and Russian bilateral agricultural export sales and other trade data to calculate the (expansion margin) and (price margin) of agricultural exports, (quantity margin), to analyze the types, prices, and quantities of exported agricultural products. The results show that China exports to Russia mainly labor-intensive types of agricultural products such as processed agricultural and horticultural products, accounting for 87.46% of total agricultural exports on average. The increase in exports is mainly due to the continuous increase in the prices of exported agricultural products. Russia exports to China mainly land-intensive types of agricultural products such as animal products, grains, oilseeds and fat products, which accounted for an average of 79.07% of total agricultural exports. The increase in exports was mainly due to the continuous increase in types and quantities of agricultural products to develop the export potential of agricultural products and expand sales. In addition, China should expand the types and quantities of agricultural products exported, and Russia should increase the added value of agricultural products and raise the export prices of agricultural products.

Abstract:
Indonesia is one of the largest natural rubber exporters in the world. On the other hand, the potential for natural rubber in the world market is enormous. The Asian continent is the largest market for Indonesian natural rubber, followed by American and European markets. Currently there have been many studies on the competitiveness of Indonesian natural rubber exports to the international market, but so far there has not been much research on the competitiveness and potential of rubber exports specifically to European countries. This study aims to determine the competitiveness and the potential of Indonesian natural rubber in European countries, namely Germany, France, and Spain. The method used in this study is descriptive analytics, meanwhile Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) was used to determine Indonesia’s competitiveness in each of the partner countries, on the other hand Export Product Dynamic (EPD) was used to determine the performance of Indonesian natural rubber in partner countries. The RCA index shows that Indonesia has competitive advantages in the partner countries, and the EPD matrix indicated that Indonesia is in a rising star position in the German, French and Spanish markets. To strengthen this position, Indonesia needs to increase their export value through the increase in production.

Abstract:
Export is one of the economic parameters of a country which can increase the country’s economy which must be maintained and increased in value. In the last ten years from 2010 to 2019, Indonesia’s export performance fluctuated and decreased, resulting in a trade balance deficit in 2012-2014 and 2018-2019. Based on the problem, Indonesia needs to make strategic efforts. One of the efforts that can be done is to develop agricultural exports. One of the products that has the potential to be developed is sago flour. This research analyzed the competitiveness and export potential of Indonesian sago flour. This study used secondary data which is panel data consisting of time series and cross section data. The methods used were the RCA, EPD, and X- Model. The results of the analysis using RCA and EPD concluded that Indonesian sago flour has strong competitiveness in the export market. Then the results of the X-model analysis show that sago flour exports have the potential for optimistic market development in the Philippine, Thailand and Chinese markets and the potential export markets are Japan, Malaysia, Hong kong, and Sri Lanka

Abstract:
The article identifies the volume of underserved markets for the development of Ukraine's foreign trade with the EU. The Ukraine's export potential on the EU underserved market is analyzed. It is established that the intensification of trade relations between the Ukraine and EU is a mutually beneficial process, and export potential of Ukraine in the EU market for goods whose exports to the Russian Federation have decreased is of particular importance. The main foreign markets of Ukraine for the export of agricultural and industrial goods from Ukraine have been identified. The main commodity groups of underserved markets to the EU have been identified, the exports of which to the Russian Federation have decreased the most. According to the results of the study, it has been concluded that the underserved markets of the European Union play an important role in the development of Ukraine's trade: first, they allow reorientation of exports of Ukrainian goods, the import of which is prohibited into the customs territory of the Russian Federation, to EU markets; secondly, they help to identify directions for the modernization of Ukrainian production in accordance with the unmet needs of the European goods market. It is concluded that the process of deepening mutual trade in underserved markets in a free trade area is mutually beneficial for Ukraine and the European Union, as trading partners can benefit from increased trade flows, and establishing international partnership between the parties can bring additional benefits in the long run.

Abstract:
Countries in Europe, China and USA are the main destination of Indonesia's CPO exports so that in order to avoid more significant declining in value and export volume because of trade war and the existance of CPO black campaign, Indonesia must take a diversified step, especially for export market diversification. This study illustrates the condition of Indonesian CPO competitiveness in non-traditional markets, measures the position of Indonesia CPO export market attractiveness, and analyzes factors influence CPO exports. Data used are secondary data obtained from various resources. The time series and cross sections data consecutively consist of variables from 2002 to 2017 and 11 nontraditional importing countries. Time series variables consist of volume export of Indonesia CPO, exchange rate, export price, Indonesia GDP, importers GDP, and economic distance. X–model product export potential and gravity model were used to address the objectives. Indonesian CPO has optimistic market development potential because Indonesia CPO has strong competitiveness and in a rising star position. The analysis result with gravity model showed the factors affecting Indonesian CPO export to nontraditional countries was exchange rate, Indonesia GDP, importers GDP, and economic distance. Government role is important to initiate a long term trade agreement which benefits both parties.

Abstract:
European integration opens wide opportunities for Ukraine to cooperate with developed European countries, strengthening its position in the international arena. Export potential is the potential ability of a country to export goods or services. Exports of goods and services to EU countries in 2020 were $ 21.9 billion (37.1% of total exports), including exports of goods – $ 18.6 billion, exports of services – $ 3.3 billion. Compared to 2019, exports of goods to EU countries de- creased by $ 2.1 billion (10.3%). The export structure is dominated by agriculture products, the food industry (35%), and the metallurgical complex (16.7%). The greatest exporters of Ukrainian goods were the following EU countries: Poland ($ 3.3 billion or 6.71% of total exports of goods), Germany ($ 2.1 billion or 4.27%), Italy ($ 1.9 billion or 3, 86%), the Netherlands ($ 1.8 billion or 3.66%), Hungary ($ 1.3 billion or 2.64%), Romania ($ 1.1 billion or 2.24%). The analysis of the export potential of Ukraine shows the raw material structure of exports. Integration into the EU market as a raw material supplement is dangerous for the country because it can consolidate technological dependence on developed countries. Increasing the share of goods with a high level of processing increase the stability of export income. Promising areas of exporting activity are science-intensive industries: electronics, production of automation, technical means for non-traditional types of energy, new types of materials, biotechnology, etc. To transition Ukraine to the exporting of knowledge-intensive innovative products and successfully enter world markets, the Export Strategy of Ukraine (Roadmap for Strategic Trade Development) has been developed, which identifies the following promising sectors: information and communication technologies, software development, creative services, tourism, maintenance and repair of aircraft, production of spare parts and components for the aerospace and aviation industries, mechanical engineering, food industry. Sectors are grouped into clusters. An individual sectoral strategy is developed for each sector. Key words: export, export potential, European integration, goods, competitive advantages, market, sector.

Purpose: The main objective is to get a comprehensive analysis of the potential for market expansion so that it can boost exports to new markets in addition to the traditional markets that are currently being carried out. Methodology: The analysis includes market analysis, product analysis, trade policy and other analyses related to the Surabaya City Export Expansion Policy Analysis. Quantitative analysis techniques use measurements of the Export Performance Index. Determination of priority commodities is done by calculating indicator index values, performance index values, and composite indices. Results: The export development of Surabaya City in 2014-2016 experienced a fluctuation, i.e., from the US $ 18.02 million in 2014, to the US $ 16.45 million US $ 2015 and the US $ 17.90 million in 2016. Implications: Economic growth in developed countries is strongly supported by export growth. They control the share of world exports. In line with the spirit to increase exports and support government programs, the Surabaya city government has placed exports as one of its economic growth locomotives. Thus, Export expansion policy is an option considering that Surabaya’s export growth has fluctuated in hopes of increasing public welfare.

Abstract:
Introduction. The lack of a unified methodology of the export potential assessing of agro-industrial enterprises poses some difficulties in the activities of export-oriented economic entities. This situation is conditioned by the subjectivity of the export potential concept, as well as the inability to establish a clear relationship between the enterprise export potential, the market export potential and the market enterprise position. The research purpose is to study the existing methodological approaches to the export potential assessment of agricultural enterprises. Results. The components of the enterprise export potential are determined. The model of export potential determination for the conditions of agrarian production is presented for the future. A set of indicators is described to characterize the export potential. The increase of role of the managing system in the enterprise international competitiveness is substantiated. The essence, purpose and peculiarities of managing the enterprise international competitiveness are outlined. The system structure of enterprise international competitiveness management (monitoring of competitive environment in the international market, assessment of the enterprise competitiveness level and their products, determining the mission of enterprise functioning, the strategy implementation of the international competitiveness management system, evaluation and control of the implementation results of the chosen strategy). The problematic aspects of the agricultural enterprise activity are identified in the process of managing international competitiveness. The measures aimed at improving the management of the international competitiveness of agricultural enterprises are characterized and substantiated. Conclusions. Assessing the export potential of agricultural enterprises is an important issue in the process of improving their export activities. Developing valuation approaches that take into account the specifics of the domestic and world economies will enhance the export potential of agricultural enterprises. This, in turn, will be the basis for developing the country's exports. Keywords: export potential, agrarian potential, economic potential, competitiveness, factors, agroindustrial production, export.

Abstract:
TodayRussiahas embarked on the difficult path of transition to a new, higher, production and export level, so it is important to understand in which areas domestic enterprises can increase supply volumes abroad and most successfully compete in the global market. To this end, the article identified the key features of the concept of «export potential»: its dependence on the existing production capacity and the competitiveness of products manufactured for export. A retrospective analysis of the commodity structure of Russian export deliveries showed that non-fuel components account for about 41%, and about 34% of products have a non-resource character, with positive dynamics in such important groups as «machinery and equipment», «chemical products and rubber» and others. However, by the end of 2017, there is a predominance of goods of the lower redistribution (about 46% of non-resource non-energy exports), that indicates the high dependence of the Russian exports on the simplest products. Experts identified the points of growth of non-resource exports: the sphere of high technologies, the internationalization of small and medium-sized firms, the development of the regional export potential, and the expansion of tourism and educational services exports.

Abstract:
This paper aims to evaluate the variation of market share explained by structural and competitive forces using the Constant Market Share (CMS) model. Assuming that a country should maintain its market share to keep competitive, the equation used in the model analyzes the export basket composition, exports destination, growth or shrinkage of the world market and the competitiveness effect. The overall loss of the Brazilian market share in a time series from 1998-2012 is given due to the barriers of potential European markets and reduction of the market growth of the product with shell. In a different way, the increase in exports of shelled nuts to markets with higher growth rates contributed to a favorable outlook for Bolivian and Peruvian markets, which had a market share gain on the period.

Abstract:
The paper deals with some theoretical approaches to determining the essence of the export potential, the features of its formation and development in the agri-food complex, the impact on the growth of competitiveness. This made it possible to clarify the definition of the export potential of the agri-food complex as an aggregate of competitive advantages. The specifics of the development of the export potential in the context of globalization and the development of international integration are revealed. The dynamics and structure of exports of food products and agricultural raw materials are analyzed; the physical capacity of the domestic markets of basic food products, the dynamics, and trends of its change are estimated. Excessive growth in the volume of production of agricultural products can lead to oversaturation of the domestic market, a decrease in the profitability of domestic producers, worsening the financial situation in the industry. Russia has a significant potential for integration into the world agri-food system. However, the main share of the export of the agri-food complex is made up of agricultural raw materials, primarily grains and oilseeds, which has an adverse effect on the structure of the complex and the rate of its development. The diversification of exports, the growth of exports of products with high added value will contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture and food industries. The development of the export potential of the Russian agri-food complex should be based not only on the active use of national competitive advantages but also on the formation of competitive advantages based on the international division of labor as well. The export-oriented strategy for the development of Russia's agri-food complex needs to be justified in the context of food security policy, which implies resolving the contradiction between national interests related to the saturation of domestic markets, and attitudes toward growing competitiveness in the world food markets, as well as the development and realization of the export potential.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to identify Thailand’s realistic export opportunities (REOs) in the ASEAN+3 countries (i.e. ASEAN, Greater China, Japan and South Korea), which together constitute an economically dynamic region and a strategic export destination for Thailand. Furthermore, the paper seeks to determine the extent to which Thailand already has a share in ASEAN+3 countries and where new opportunities lie. This allows the formulation of appropriate export promotion strategies for Thailand. Design/methodology/approach The methodology used is a decision support model (DSM) which uses an extensive data-filtering system to systematically screen and eliminate less-promising product–country combinations to ultimately reveal high-potential REOs. Product–country combinations are screened on the basis of country risk; macro-economic country performance; market potential in terms of import growth and import market size; and market access conditions, including market concentration and the existence of trade barriers. The thus narrowed-down REOs are categorised according to Thailand’s relative market share in, and the characteristics of, the identified import markets. Findings The study reveals that the ASEAN+3 countries account for about 40 per cent of the total potential export value of Thailand’s REOs in the world, with China leading the way (12.45 per cent), followed by Japan (8.56 per cent) and South Korea (6.23 per cent). However, Thailand has a relatively small or intermediately small market share in the majority of these REOs, pointing to the need for more offensive and exploratory export promotion strategies. Research limitations/implications The ASEAN+3 countries – given that they are an abundant source of REOs for Thailand and are in Thailand’s “backyard” – should receive more focused attention and resources in government export promotion efforts. The recent launch of the ASEAN Economic Community and the proposed establishment of an East Asia Free Trade Area lend weight to the idea of Thailand adopting a strong regional focus in its export activities. Practical implications The insights derived from the study are valuable for export promotion officials, industry representatives and practising exporters alike, as they constitute an easy-to-digest snapshot of high-potential REOs for Thailand in the ASEAN+3 region. This makes for more efficient planning and prioritising of export development activities, and a more streamlined approach to resource allocation. Originality/value Export promotion shows diminishing returns and requires sustainable strategies and interventions. The value in this paper lies in its description of an innovative market selection tool, the DSM, which is able to process and filter high volumes of information and arrive at a shortlist of high-potential REOs for Thailand in the ASEAN+3 countries. The paper represents a concise case study of the DSM in practice, which should be of particular interest to export promotion agencies, industry associations and both new and more established exporting countries.

Abstract:
Main development trends and complex of internal and external factors influencing on export potential of the industrial sector in the Republic of Belarus have been revealed and determined on the basis of the analysis of national and international statistical databases and method for expert assessment. Relevance of the research is to demonstrate that industry creates a significant part of commodity exports in the small open economy of the Republic of Belarus which has adopted a course to post-industrialization as a national strategy. Absolute figures of the Belarusian export of services are 3.4 times lower than values of the commodity export, 92.4 % of which is provided by manufacturing industry. It is in the sphere of industrial production that we should look for the reasons of long-term trend to reducing physical and cost volumes of Belarusian export, deterioration of its commodity and geographical structure, negative balance of trade and account of current operations. Main positions of the Belarusian commodity exports which form 70 % of its volume to non-CIS countries are raw materials exposed to unstable price environment in the world market, although the mining industry accounts for only 1.2 % while the manufacturing industry creates 85.6 % of the sector’s gross output. The study refutes the conclusion that problems associated with implementation of an export potential of domestic industry should be explained by the crisis of industrial production, proving that post-industrialization, accompanied by a reduction, curtailment or cross-border transfer of industrial production, is not so clear and does not bring the expected macroeconomic results. Reindustrialization, achievement of a breakthrough in the use of information technologies for a new quality of industrial production, which involves reorientation of IT-sector in Belarus operating on the basis of an outsourcing model from external to domestic market and solution of problems concerning system modernization of industry must become a national strategy aimed at the development and implementation of the industry’s export potential.

The authors develop and apply a probabilistic model designed to identify currently nonexporting manufacturers with a relatively high potential for future exports. The proposed model includes a new predictive construct (market expansion ability), which incorporates the time dimension of firm behavior, in addition to more familiar attitudinal constructs such as perceived barriers to exporting. The model is demonstrated with a sample of 345 nonexporting manufacturers. Several evaluative tests, including a test of predictive validity with a sample of 43 current exporters, provide evidence of the model's ability to identify nonexporting manufacturers with export potential.

At work, an issue of the competitiveness of Polish agri-food exports was analysed. Purpose of the study was to estimate the level of competitiveness of the Polish export commodity groups related to the agri-food sector on the markets of the Visegrad Group countries and the world market and an indication of the groups and markets with potential for development in the future as also those losing market shares. In the framework of the implementation of the aim, it was decided to make the indicator analysis and estimate the comparative advantage by using a RCA ratio and absolute advantage using AGE. Polish export in the year 2015 measured indicator of RCA, was competitive on the world market in the case of animals and products of animal origin and food and beverages. RCA < 1 was for plant and products of plant origin. In the case of animals Polish exports grew at the same rate as world exports, in the case of plants were large fluctuations in AGE. The best situation was in a group of food and beverages, where AGE in most years were above zero.

Export of medicines is one of the most profitable businesses, which attracts the attention of an increasing number of producers. The international medicines’ trade largely depends on national or regional regulatory mechanisms. In addition, the export terms and conditions differ for various categories of medicines. Innovative drugs account for the main share of the global medicines’ export. Therefore, export of innovative drugs developed in Russia to advanced countries is the most economically profitable direction. Export of generic drugs can bring considerable revenue to the producer and the state, but import substitution by releasing generic drugs weakens the innovative direction of studies and production. The import substitution policy targets manufacturers of medicines to produce generic drugs, as well as products intended, mainly or exclusively, for sale within the country. One of the ways to improve the efficiency of the entire pharmaceutical sector is international cooperation.

Abstract:
The spice commodity has long been a mainstay of Indonesian exports to the world. Therefore, export of spice commodities needs to be maintained and increased in value in order to balance Indonesia’s trade balance. The potential of the European Union 15 as a large export market for Indonesian spices, so the export of spice commodities must be increased. The current worsening situation (the Sino-United States trade war) has increased the urgency of Indonesia’s exports to other countries. Specifically, this study aims to see the comparative development of Indonesian spice exports to the European Union 15. Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Revealed Symmetric Comparative Advantage (RSCA) and Trade Balance Index (TBI) are used to determine the position of export competitiveness of spices in the European Union 15. The results showed that the RCA value for nutmeg, pepper and cloves > 1 so that the commodity is a competitive spice commodity and is in the maturity stage because it has a TBI> 0.8. Ginger has no competitiveness and is still in the export growth stage. Based on the RSCA, the variations in the competitiveness of the spices of nutmeg, pepper, and cloves during the period 2008 - 2018 have a value of> 0 which means that it has comparative competitiveness, while for ginger the value is <0 so that ginger does not have comparative competitiveness. Efforts that can be taken to further increase export competitiveness in the global market are by developing production and productivity so that they can export to other potential markets such as the Americas and Asia.

Abstract:
This article examines the influence of relative prices, production capacity, gross domestic product, fish export and trawl fishing bans, and seasonality on Oman’s fish exports to the European Union (EU), Southeast-, East- and South Asia (SEA), and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets during 2001–2015. Following the prescribed “keep it sensibly simple” rule for practitioners and the lack of any empirical evidence to support better alternatives, a partial adjustment framework is used to describe the dynamics of fish export behavior. The appropriate functional form was decided by testing the nested Cobb–Douglas (CD) hypothesis within the constant elasticity of substitution (CES) specification and the result supports the CD specification. The models were estimated using ordinary least square (OLS). The descriptive statistical results indicate market heterogeneity in species preferences. The empirical results suggest some degree of inertia in adjustment in the EU and SEA markets. The negative impact of the “export ban” on the EU market suggests a “trade-off” between the protection of domestic consumers and the revenue forgone. The export is price elastic in the short-run for the EU market. The impact of the “trawl fishing ban” on the EU and GCC markets was negative and positive, respectively. The significance of “production capacity” for the GCC and SEA markets signals that future enhancement strategies of exports should be aligned with the long-term sustainability of fish resources. The error-correction model could be considered to check the robustness of the present findings. An examination of the sensitivity of export-supply to potential risks should also be useful.

Authors consider export opportunities and the structure and dynamics of industrial export and import in the Russian Federation, Northwest Russia and St. Petersburg. The article studies structural changes in sectors of St. Petersburg economy resulting from ongoing innovation processes and their impact on export potential. It provides the results of assessing the impact of organizational, economic and production factors on export opportunities of various economic entities. Export opportunities, structure and dynamics of export and import of industrial products in the Russian Federation, the North-West region and St. Petersburg are considered. Volume of exports, imports and trade turnover in Russia in 2019, as well as the dynamics of changes in recent years are discussed. In the structure of Russia's exports in recent years, the bulk of supplies (60%) were mineral products, imports the main share of exports (over 40%) occurred in the machinery, equipment and vehicles. The high needs of the national market and the significant export potential of Russian enterprises engaged in the production of medicines and modern medical equipment are noted, which makes it possible to make a real contribution to solving important social problems and developing the national economy. The structure of exports and imports of North-West Federal district and St. Petersburg by major commodity groups, there is a saving in purchases of imported equipment combined with constant growth of exports of fuel and energy products are discussed. Structural changes in the economic sectors of St. Petersburg as a result of ongoing innovation processes and their impact on export potential are studied. The results of the assessment of the impact of organizational, economic and production factors on the export opportunities of various economic entities are presented. It is revealed that for industrial enterprises, the quality and cost of components becomes a problematic factor that hinders their development both in improving the product range and in their own technological modernization. For small and medium-sized businesses in industrial production, problems related to timely receipt of high-quality materials and products of the element base from suppliers and related companies, in most cases located abroad, are added. The role of the “Russian export center” as a state institute for supporting non-commodity exports and facilitating export operations was noted.

Based on China’s export trade data of equipment manufacturing to countries along the Belt and Road from 2006 to 2018, this paper uses a stochastic frontier gravity model to analyze the influencing factors and export trade efficiency of China’s export trade. The results indicate that: 1) Larger economic scale and population size, closer geographical distance, common boundaries and a common language can significantly increase China’s exports of equipment manufacturing products to countries along the route. 2) Signing free trade agreements with partners, increasing trade openness, and improving infrastructure construction can significantly improve China’s export trade level, while excessive tariff levels will inhibit export trade efficiency. 3) In recent years, the efficiency of China’s export trade to countries along the Belt and Road has improved, but the overall level is still low, and the efficiency of export trade to different countries varies greatly. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen international trade cooperation, improve conditions for trade development, increase investment in infrastructure construction with countries along the Belt and Road, and adopt targeted strategies for different types of markets to develop market potential.

Abstract:
The US-China Trade War and the COVID-19 pandemic are unprecedented incidents involving Indonesia's traditional markets as the main actors, i.e. the US and China which impacted Indonesia's economy and trade indirectly. Market diversification to new market or non-traditional market is one way out that can be done to minimize the impact of the global crisis on the country, when traditional markets are unreliable, such as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that has made a positive contribution both in investment and trade for Indonesia in the midst of a pandemic. However, Indonesia's exports to the UAE experienced a significant decline in 2018 after previous two years continued to increase. So that knowing the competitiveness of Indonesia's export products in the UAE is the purpose of this study. This research answers the prospects and challenges of Indonesian export products in the UAE by measuring the export performance in 2016-2018 using the Constant Market Share (CMS) and Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) analysis methods. This research uses descriptive quantitative method with secondary data and triangulation of data sources, methods, and theories as the validity and reliability methods. The results of this study indicate that CMS and RCA analysis output are different so that the prospects and challenges for Indonesian products are also explained by the Indonesian approach and trade policies which lead to the conclusion that the UAE is a potential market to become non-traditional market for Indonesian economic development when its traditional markets are unreliable.

Abstract:
Background. The economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed most popular products in the global market among consumers, in particular those for spending leisure time alone. Among them, surprisingly, motor boats were found. In Ukraine, increasing the production of certain types of watercraft may be a chance to save the entire shipbuilding industry. The aim of the article is to analyse the state and the structure of the world and domestic markets of motor boats in order to establish possible directions for the development of the export potential of Ukraine. Materials and methods. The methods of logical analysis and generalization of scientific literature, statistical data on the export and import of goods were used; the tools of market analysis of the International Trade Centre (ITC) were applied. Results. The state of the motor boats world market is analysed according to import data. The main consumers of these motor boats and trends of theirs changes in 2005–2019 were studied. The data on the motor boats import to Ukraine is provided. The countries-exporters of motor boats are considered and their future potential is determined. The data on the motor boats export from Ukraine is given. The level of tariff protection by different countries of the world in relation to motor boats from Ukraine is assessed. Conclusion. When planning a strategy for the development of motor boats export, Ukrainian enterprises should take into account that most of the importing countries of motor boats do not impose tariff protection in relation to Ukraine, and where it is present at a sufficiently high level, there is no significant consumption of motor boats. For the development of a trade partnership in the direction of exporting motor boats, Ukraine should choose the Cayman Islands, the Netherlands, Malta, the United States of America, the British Virgin Islands, France, Gibraltar, Spain, Canada and the Seychelles –the largest consumers of motor boats. Ukraine needs to pay special attention to the Netherlands, Italy and Germany – countries that will hold the leading exporters position of motor boats for a long time. Cooperation with manufacturers of these countries in the global supply chain of motor boats to the world market could be very useful not only for motor boat manufacturers, but also for manufacturers of individual parts and accessoriesfor motor boats.

Abstract:
Abstract Key features of the current foreign trade of Serbia are high and growing foreign trade deficit, and a small number of export partners. The fact that Serbia places its almost entire export on the markets of Italy, Germany and three former Yugoslavian countries implies the need for export diversification. Finding new or revitalizing former markets is vital for overcoming various weaknesses of Serbia’s foreign trade. Gravity model was used for establishing determinants of Serbia’s export and potential export directions. Coefficients of Serbia’s export, determined in a few earlier studies are based on the figures that were valid before the global economic crisis. As the export to the EU countries which are geographically closest to Serbia decreased during the crisis, it is assumed that the parameters have now changed and the factor of importance of geographical distance decreased. The obtained coefficients are then applied to the countries of the Caspian Basin. This is the region which, due to its numerous geographical and economic characteristics, is seen as an adequate export market, although its distance is relatively large. Research based on applying of gravity model has found that in some countries of the region, there is plenty of „space“ for Serbia’s exports.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the basic concepts and principles of enterprises functioning in the FMCG market. Given that this market suggests quick return goods and consumer goods, which are characterized by high demand and frequency of purchase, the article presents the basic patterns of the market dynamic development. The principles of food industry enterprises activity have been considered, taking them as an integral part of the FMCG market. The peculiarities of dairy products export have been studied, taking into account modern economic processes in Ukraine and the reorientation of its export flows from the CIS to EU states. The authors have come to conclusion that carrying out export activity directly depends on the export potential. The article also analyzes the risks associated with the difference between international and domestic norms and regulations stated in the export legislation and legislation on the quality of perishable dairy products, which may be faced by companies already exporting dairy products to the EU market or just planning to enter this promising foreign market. We have assessed the attempt to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian products through raising their quality and bringing it in accordance with international standards. The determinants dominating in the export activity of the FMCG businesses in the EU market have been identified, taking into account the potential risks. It has been proved that in order to increase the export potential of enterprises working in the FMCG-market in the conditions of systemic risks caused by business environment, a promising area of research may consist in improving the institutional framework in such spheres as standardization, conformity assessment and market surveillance by integrating Ukrainian institutions into European and international structures.

Exports of Russian cereals have been growing for five years. In 2017, exports of Russian cereals came to the second rate in the world, and wheat exports came to the first rate. In near future, Russia intends to increase its export potential and maintain its leadership in the global cereals market. The authors have put forward the hypothesis that increasing exports of Russian cereals are not just the result of a favorable combination of weather, economic and political conditions, but it is an expected result of the development of Russian cereal farming. The purpose of the study is to examine the factors that could increase the volume of exports of Russian cereals, and elaborate perspective ways to develop the export potential to strengthen the Russian position in the world cereals market. Using the methods of theoretical analysis, the authors have revealed the peculiarities of Russian and world market development. Economic and statistical methods of analysis have allowed to determine the trends and the conditioning factors in the cereals market development. The authors have come to the conclusion that increasing exports of cereals are caused by growth in cereals production and changes in the expense side in the Russian cereals balance, as well as an active foreign economic activity to expand cereals supplies, and state exports support. Russia is able to increase the volume of food exports, augmenting not only exports of cereals, but also derivative products, which are characterized by high added value, that is the most promising way to develop the export potential.

Abstract:
Kosovo as the newest state in the region, in the economic aspect represents an economic complex with considerable potential of human, economic and demographic resources, having an open economy and entirely Euro integrated, with the central position in Balkan Peninsula. As a new state Kosovo is going through a transition phase and is found in an unsatisfactory position, therefore a serious professional intervention by the competent mechanisms is necessary towards finding an adequate solution which enables a speedier economic, social and cultural development, thus accessing into economic and political integrations in the region and in Europe. Kosovo economy during 2012 was characterised by a positive norm of growth. The real norm of economic growth in the country reached the figure of 2.9 per cent. The slowest developments in the regional and European markets during this year appeared as a challenge for the general economic activity in the country. In 2012, a decrease was marked from several important sources of financing in the country, especially the foreign direct investments. A reduction was also characterised in export of goods, but, growth of export of the services neutralised the effect of decrease of goods export. Kosovo suffers from the negative trade balance, implying that Kosovo depends on imports, whereas its opportunities to export local products into foreign market are very low. With intention of improving the competitive position of Kosovar enterprises, and for increasing export into world market, the existing economic policies need to be amended and supplemented and the institutional functioning needs to be improved as well. The aim of this study is to provide a realistic overview of the economic situation of Kosovo through an overall analysis and to also give recommendations with intention of improving the trade balance in favour of increase of Kosovar export in the future.

Abstract:
Purpose Various barriers discourage small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from entering or expanding their export activities in the international markets, especially SMEs in emerging markets. The purpose of this study is to look at capacity building to accelerate SMEs’ export performance. Design/methodology/approach This study draws on contingency theory and takes a resource-based and market-based view to provide a holistic understanding of the issue. This study uses primary data collected via extensive surveys from active SMEs in three main industrial regions in Vietnam to undertake confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling for quantitative analysis. Findings The results confirm and show the significant effects of various determinants on firms’ export performance. These research findings have scientific contribution and significant implications by understanding the effective internal and external export drivers and mediators in an emerging market and enhancing SMEs’ export performance. Practical implications This study helps SMEs to improve their export performance by systemizing their decision-making in export activities, improving main export drivers highlighted in this study and developing required training programs for their teams. The outcomes also helps policymakers and regulators to improve the current SME ecosystem in Vietnam through training programs, improving policies, facilitating trades, providing more government assistance etc. The results of this study can be extended to other emerging markets with a similar economic structure and legal system. Originality/value Given the need for more work on export performance, this paper develops and tests a holistic conceptual framework that accounts for all aspects of export drivers, and provides a more comprehensive model for examining SMEs’ export drivers. This theoretical framework also incorporates three potential mediators (i.e. innovation strategy, export marketing strategy and business strategy) to investigate the effect of internal and external factors on export performance, highlighting the importance of the mediating effects on SMEs in achieving growth and competing in the international arena.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the production of agricultural products in India for the period 2000-2018. - as the basis for the formation of export potential, which has shown an increase in production in almost all major types of agricultural products in India. Today India is a major exporter of agricultural products and foodstuffs and ranks sixth in the ranking of the 10 largest exporters in the world. Its share in the global market in 2018 was 2.2%. ($ 42 billion). India intends in the future to significantly increase the volume of supplies of agricultural products to the world market - up to 100 billion dollars. In this regard, India has developed a new export policy aimed at developing export potential through the production of high value-added products and the development of export infrastructure, which will increase the competitiveness of Indian products in the global food market. The article discusses some aspects of export policy. Particular attention is paid to the formation of clusters and agricultural export zones, the creation of which will attract foreign investment both in agricultural production and in the development of infrastructure in India, and ensure the production of high quality products. An important point in the formation of clusters is the involvement of farmers in the value chain through the creation of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), designed to help smallholders overcome shortcomings in production and expand the presence of farmers in foreign markets. The article reflects the infrastructure to support exports and stimulate the production of export agricultural products with high added value. The issues of mutual trade in agricultural products between India and Russia and some directions of its development are considered.

"Phytosanitary and Technical Quality Challenges in Export Fresh Vegetables and Strategies to Compliance with Market Requirements: Case of Smallholder Snap Beans in Kenya." Abstract:
Kenya is one of the leading exporters of snap beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) to Europe, but the export volume has remained below potential mainly due to failure to meet the market quality standards. The quality concerns include the presence of regulated and quarantine pests, pesticide residues, harmful organisms, and noncompliance with the technical standards. These challenges call for the development of alternative approaches in overcoming the phytosanitary and quality challenges in the export of snap beans and other fresh vegetables. These may include integrated pest management (IPM) approaches that incorporate non synthetic chemical options, such as diversified cropping systems, plant and microbial-based pesticides, varieties with multiple disease and pest resistance, insecticidal soaps, pheromones and kairomones, entomopathogens and predators. These approaches, coupled with capacity-building and adherence to the set quality standards, will improve compliance with export market requirements. The aim of this paper is to increase knowledge on implementing good practices across the value chain of fresh vegetables that would lead to improved quality and thereby meeting institutional requirements for the export market. The novelty of the current review is using snap beans as a model vegetable to discuss the challenges that must be mitigated for the quest of achieving high quality and increased volume of fresh export products. Whilst many of the publications have focused on alternatives to synthetic pesticides in addressing MRLs in fresh vegetable exports, there is a disconnect between research and industry in achieving chemical residue and pest free export vegetables. This review describes the phytosanitary and technical challenges faced by smallholder farmers in accessing export markets, evaluates the phytosanitary and quality requirements by the niche markets, and explores the strategies that could be used to enhance compliance to the institutional and market requirements for fresh vegetables.

Abstract:
Introduction. In the context of globalization and modern economy, all countries are integrated through foreign economic relations and therefore cannot exist separately from others. For the stable economic growth of economic development, the use and realization of export potential is an important factor for developing countries (this group includes Ukraine). The priority for Ukraine is the sphere of agro-industrial complex, which is a strategically important sector and therefore plays a key role in the integration of the state into the world space and, accordingly, occupies an important place in the formation of export potential. The purpose of the paper is to study the term "export potential", as well as its analysis and prospects in Ukraine; analysis of export indicators for previous periods on the example of the agro-industrial sector and providing proposals for methods of capacity analysis. Results. The notion of “export potential” was directly considered as a significant factor influencing Ukraine's integration into the world economy, as well as its direct economic growth. An analysis of Ukraine's exports for 2015-2019 was conducted based on data from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine in terms of the agricultural market, based on which ways to improve the country's export potential as a component of industry development were identified. Conclusion. The analysis of scientific sources leads to the conclusion that today there is no unambiguous interpretation of the essence of the economic category “export potential of the country, industry”, which determines the relevance of the study. Prospects for further research are to identify concepts for assessing the export potential of the agricultural sector, identify factors influencing its formation and development, including the impact of production capacity of the industry, analysis of trade with major trading partners and identify potential target markets and trade positions of agricultural products.

Abstract:
The subject of the research is the analysis of the competitiveness and comparative advantage of the agricultural products and processed food products of Bulgaria on the international market. The study covers the period from 1998 to 2017. In order to measure the level of comparative advantage of the export and the degree of specialization in international trade RCA and GL indices have been used. The aim of or research was to identify products that have previously before the EU accession had, and still have, export potential. That is, the objective was to point the trend of changes in the foreign trade of processed food sector in the period before and after the EU accession in 2007. The results indicate that after joining the EU Bulgaria has changed its foreign trade structure. The decrease of exports and increase of imports of processed food sector products requires a comprehensive export strategy in order to strengthen its competitiveness.

Abstract:
The gold jewellery industry is a lucrative sector. It operates within global consumer international networks. The underpinning models of internationalisation of gold jewellery from a theoretical standpoint, are key in comprehending export competitiveness potential. This means that for any company and country to achieve success, they ought to have competitive dominance in the export market, driven by a particular model. This study established that the main trends that characterise gold jewellery exports are underpinned by an aggressive internalisation thrust, which should be supported by market consolidation; market growth; a new channel landscape to push through the products; market consumption trends, absorption capacity, and global fast-fashion demand of gold jewellery. It emerged in this study, that the gold jewellery sector in Johannesburg has many dynamics that affect the ability of gold jewellery exporters to be competitive on the international market. There is a need to implement internationalisation strategies that include the creation of market linkages, standardisation and adaptation of products and services to the changing global market environment. The objective of this study was to investigate the efficacy of the internationalisation models, adopted by jewellery exporters in Johannesburg. The study used both theoretical and empirical data, obtained from the sector. The key finding from the study is that gold jewellery remains one of the most important export commodities in growing economies, such as South Africa. Exports bring the much-needed foreign currency, yet the sector in Johannesburg has very few corporates and individually owned businesses that are connected to the international markets to optimally exploit the opportunities in this sector. Using the mixed review methodology and empirical field data, the study offers propositions to enhance export competitiveness for companies, operating in developing countries.

Abstract:
This article deals with the export potential and possibilities of the Ukrainian small and medium size enterprises in the European market as well as markets of the third countries, especially after acting of the deep and comprehensive free trade area («FTA+») between Ukraine and the EU. Most of the articles of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine concern the terms of business, competition defence in the market i.e. liberalization and removal of different administrative and discriminatory measures in Ukraine. The access to the market of the EU for the domestic small and medium size entrepreneurial activity players must be considerably broaden. In the case of the European market entry, the Ukrainian businessman, adjusting to the requirements of all countries-members of the EU, will be able to get a considerable competitive advantage as a mediator or intermediate link among the economic players of the EU countries. The consequences of adaptation of the technical adjusting, corporate management, defence of consumer rights and competition are analysed at the same time. The achievement of results on these questions is non-equivalent and has contradictions in the Ukrainian terms. The unwillingness of «FTA+» is exposed by the most Ukrainian economic players in separate market niches. The main reason is the expulsing of domestic products in the internal market by the European commodities and impossible access to the EU markets due to the competition and disparity of the Ukrainian standards to the European requirements. There are recommendations in relation to the effective implementation of the foreign economic activity of small and medium size enterprises, and increase of the products’ competitiveness of the domestic producers in the European market.
