Abstract:
Longitudinal research within Centre for Study in Cultural Development’s project “Cultural Participation and Cultural Heritage” was focused upon cultural participation of children in pre-schools and elementary schools but instead of publishing results decision was made to make electronic ethnographic database that contains documentation about programs that were successful in achieving active participation of children. Omnipresent in contemporary world new technologies are frequently taken for granted but creation of our database („Culture and other games for children“) showed that in the process very little goes without saying. Proces was in its core collaborative ethnography endavour and issues of collaboration included ones important for grasping interactions within digital ethnography. Aim of this paper is to talk about (not just write down) these issues as in the future mingling and balacing physical and virtual realities may be prominent for ethnography as well.

Abstract:

Desert ethnographies. Reflections from an anthropology of nomadismAbstractThis paper contains a series of reflections developed on the basis of the author’s own ethnographic research, carried out since 2004 with indigenous Huarpe people in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. These reflections try to contribute to denature the complexity of interaction contexts and make them visible, considering that such contexts embrace different dimensions and aspects –such as the speakers’ position in the social structure, individual expectations, experiences and previous relationships of subjects, as well as material and symbolic intermediation resources. Emphasis is therefore placed on the situational and dynamic character of those interlocution relationships. In the light of current debates from cultural review, the nomad thinking and the Derridean spectrological critics, and in an effort to contribute to the Collaborative Ethnography studies, this paper is aimed at showing what we understand as field performances, considering the ethnographic experience itself as the object of analysis. Keywords: Collaborative Ethnography – Indigenous people – Nomadism –SpectrologyEtnografias desérticas. Abstract:
Figures at the Limit: Documents, Ethnography and TheatreAbstractIn this article, I reflect on the relationship between theater and ethnography, with focus on a creative collaboration with the group Teatro Línea de Sombra (Shadow Line Theatre) and Central American migrants on the southern border of Mexico. The article aims to address the encounter and intertwining of two different forms of documentation —theatrical and ethnographic— and how they simultaneously relate with a poetic process that ‘reads’ a specific social reality. I use the concept of limit to create a tension between the approaches and perspectives of these two disciplines.Recibido: 01 de septiembre de 2017Aceptado: 29 de enero de 2018

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to reflect on an experience of fictional ethnographic writing that we made while doing collaborative research. Through an exercise of memory, imagination and investigation, we created a radio fiction series together with a social movement that fights for the right to decent housing: Stop Desahucios Granada 15M. Starting from the materiality of one of the scripts that form part of our series, a radio soap opera, we want to show how we jointly wrote the six episodes of the series by constructing first the plots and characters, and after the dialogues. Secondly, we’ll reflect on the performative aspects of the production process, in which we transgressed the scripts. Thirdly, we will address two ‘mutations’ that the collaborative framework of our fiction-based research had generated in our way of doing and communicate ethnography. And finally, we’ll explain the reasons why we consider the writing of the scripts as a central element of our collaborative ethnography.

Abstract:
The ethnic and cultural identity construction among pupils from immigrant families requires a deep knowledge of intercultural communication practices that are developed in different spaces (school, home, mosque, neighbourhood associations, civic centre, etc.). Our research analyses the intercultural communication of children in school and shows the use of a methodology that allows access to their cultural identities’ construction. The use of collaborative ethnography with children has allowed the incorporation of their voices in the exploration of intercultural communication. This article aims to explore intercultural communication in 5-year-old students through collaborative ethnography and analyses their identities construction through multimodal discourse analysis. A holistic-case study design has been utilised as well as mosaic approach techniques, such as mapping, family portrait, role play and self-portrait. The social semiotic multimodal analysis has shown the diffraction that occurs in the different students’ discourses, evidencing the conflicts in the identity construction among participants from immigrant families. Likewise, the results have shown how cultural stereotypes are configured in Early Childhood Education classes. The conclusions highlight the usefulness of collaborative ethnography and multimodal analysis for the study of intercultural communication and the identity construction in childhood.

Las Hurdes has long been the symbol in Spain for the most atrocious hunger and extreme poverty. Different studies have shown how that dramatic association continues to condition many habits still in the present. Based on a qualitative ethnographic study, we have approached the way in which this past contin‑ ues influencing food and gastronomic habits and customs. This empirical material has allowed us to delimit different categories such as abundance, tradition, sustainability and exquisiteness that show an important change in the catering business in the area. This opens up a new avenue of tourist attractions that could well help tourism development, still largely insufficient in the region. In the conclusions, the public admin‑ istrations are urged to make a firm commitment to changing associations and to overcome the traditional difficulties of collaboration between public and private sectors.

Abstract:
The ethnographic approach to literary translation offers, undoubtedly, many avenues yet to be explored. If we can consider translation to be a perpetual search for a possibility, dialogic translation consists of waging with the ‘other’–be they present physically and/or metaphysically–the battle for meaning. The n’zassa approach has no aim but to both reinforce the translator’s visibility and build a trustworthy relationship with (trans)readers. I argue that every translation act is–or should be–based, to some extent, on a n’zassa approach, which sees translation practice as a collaborative activity, and its product, a collective construct wherein writers, translators and readers are Meaning Weavers. Each text carries an embryo of such an encounter, which stems from and results in mutual influences. With regard to the relation ethnography-translation, Buzelin (2004, 2005), Ferreira (2014, 2017) and Wolf’s (2000) discussions prove fundamental. I conclude that Adiaffi’s n’zassa, read through the lens of Latour’s (2008) ANT, helps reduce information lost and gives the translator a type of immediate collective acceptance. It is only through dialogue between subjects and forms, between divergent and convergent choices in the practice of translation that one can strive for a real and inclusive knowledge economy.N’zassa: De un enfoque de traducción colaborativa a una construcción colectivaResumenSin duda, el enfoque etnográfico en la traducción literaria ofrece muchas posibilidades sin explorar. Abstract:
Bamboo music is a type of music that developed from local cultural wisdom in Indonesia. One type of music from bamboo is angklung. The following article will discuss the maintenance of angklung music in the face of the times in an urban context. In this study, the author uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach to see the hybridity process that occurs in angklung music. Through a case study of the song On My Way, which was arranged by Eka Gustiwana, it was found that the process of combining hybridity and creativity can strengthen the existence of angklung music, both nationally and internationally. The collaboration of the concepts of creativity and hybridity in angklung music also shows the mixing of two idioms of Western and Eastern music.

With its prehistoric tradition still found to this present day, Papua is considered to have high archaeological potential. Papua and West Papua Provinces offer particularly interesting opportunities for interdisciplinary research in prehistory and cultural diversity. Archaeological findings show that humans inhabited the eastern half of New Guinea (NG) at least 40,000–50,000 years ago. As primary immigration most likely happened from west to east, the western half of the island of NG must have been inhabited even earlier. Archaeological and related research has established only a few sites and other signs of early human occupancy in the Indonesian part of NG. This review describes the potential of archaeological, anthropological, and ethnographic research in the Indonesian Papuan Provinces and specifically discusses recent ethnographic, archaeological, and ethno-archaeological work carried out in the Star Mountain Regency among the Mek and the Ok. The research methods employed in this research were literature review, survey, excavation, and ethnoarchaeological approaches. The findings show that Papuan highlands became one of the earliest centres of horticulture. Until now, there are still prehistoric traditions found in Papua, such as stone adzes, bone tools, and megalithic traditions. These prehistoric traditions are easily found in the highlands and coastal areas. Research sites absolute dating, and archaeological publication related to Papua is still considered low compared to PNG. Many facets of Papuan cultural diversity are still to be discovered for future research and collaborative publication. Keywords: Ethnography, prehistory, cultural heritage, rumah peradaban

To face this opportunity and create a generation that is able to compete globally, the Department of Electrical Engineering, Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH) through the three-tridharma of higher education, in collaboration with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) section of the Banyan Tree Hotel and Resorts Bintan, produced a program called Edutech for Children (EfC). EfC is a program to improve students 'ability to think critically and analyze at an early age through the introduction of the engineering design process and training of engineers' mindsets for students in schools. Starting from the ethnographic process, brainstorming, determining the main problems and solutions and designing using Autodesk Inventor's 3-dimensional software. An innovation which is an outcome of the engineering design process is the result of a design process based on the user using an ethnographic approach, therefore through training provided students will be invited to be able to understand that an innovation requires the integration of broad thinking skills towards problems exist in the community. With this activity, satisfying results are evidenced by increasing technical ability and the emergence of innovative mindsets so that students are able to find and design technologies that are suitable for local needs. Abstract:
The Indonesian government has closed entire prostitution sites, one of them is Sunan Kuning with 500 sex workers in 2019. The study aims to investigate the implementation of social rehabilitation programs for its members through different networks covering social capital in bonding, bridging and linking social capital. This study used ethnographic method and showed that since the zone was covered by uncompromising Islamist group in 1998, the government was reluctant to manage prostitution and the area was reopened in 2003 after hundreds poor sex workers and procurers approached to local authorities and other parties to support them. Since then, the city government delegated authority to the society to manage it as a prostitution rehabilitation site. To be successful, the community required its members to obey established rules and created networks horizontally and vertically to diverse groups to provide health and social service and empowerment. However, the program implementation of social rehabilitation was ineffective because of limited networks and resources; community inconsistency to define prostitution rehabilitation, members’ inconstancy to follow agreed rules; lack of government responsiveness to the community conditions, and failure to define the substance problem. To solve this complex problem, it required continuing and synergistic collaborative governance with diverse stakeholders to resolve the problems. Keywords: Community Governance, Social Capital, Social Rehabilitation, Sex Workers. Abstract:
Geo-spatial visualising technologies are finding dynamic articulation within contemporary archaeology. With increasing regularity, archaeologists are using methods like drone-based photogrammetry to construct immersive spaces for research, analysis, and public-facing historical reconstructions. The rate at which they have been folded into the discipline, however, has outpaced efforts to critically theorise them. Too often these “new” forms of archaeological media are handled unreflexively. Often they are presented as easily knowable or self evident. This paper attends to what it identifies as the contingencies inherent to the production of such media. Using theorists like Donna Haraway and Karen Barad, it specifically attends to notions of “partial objectivity”, “situated knowledges” and “embodiment in contemporary archaeological practice. Centred around a series of observations conducted as part of an ethnography of the Discovery Programme’s involvement in the Cherish Project (a collaborative EU funded research initiative designed to monitor the impacts of climate change on coastal heritage sites in Ireland and Wales), it targets processes of data acquisition for photogrammetric modelling at the site of Dunbeg Fort in Co. Abstract:
The rapid development of the digital age has led humans to adapt new habits in communication. Communication activities are even very easy to do through digital platforms such as Instagram social media. Virtual communication activities conducted through halal culinary content are considered capable of creating information exchange. It is this exchange of information that makes participation happen virtually. Participation can not be considered as an activity without meaning, but when participation is done repeatedly, then the participation activity becomes a form of culture that has a certain meaning and interest. This research reveals virtual communication conducted by Muslim Instagram users who are actively producing kulier (Muslim foodgram) content through halal culinary content. The virtual ethnographic method was used by researchers to examine Henry Jenkins' theory of participation culture combined with smith's concept of researcher meaning. Based on the results of the study conducted for approximately eight months, researchers obtained data that virtual communication activities conducted by Muslim foodgrams are divided into several forms of participation such as affiliation, expression, collaboration, and circulation. not only a form of participation, researchers found that participation activities carried out by Muslim foodgrams through virtual communication occur continuously to form a culture. Participation culture formed from virtual communication activities include participation based on appreciation, participation based on existence, participation based on pleasure. The establishment of a culture of participation in virtual communication turns out to contain several meanings such as reputational interests, self-image, awards, hobbies, to careers. Budaya partisipasi yang terbentuk dari aktifitas komunikasi virtual meliputi participation based on appreciation, participation based on existence, participation based on pleasure. Terbentuknya budaya partisipasi dalam komunikasi virtual ternyata mengandung beberapa makna seperti kepentingan reputasi, citra diri, penghargaan, hobi, hingga karir.

Abstract:
In this work, we present a discussion of historical-conceptual frameworks of collaborative knowledge production that have operated as antecedents of the study presented from the co-research approach. More precisely, the background review advances in the positions that lead to the knowledge-power binomial throughout recent history, recovering the contributions of thinkers who have taken political-subjective subalternity as axes in different ways. From this framework, we focus on research with subjects who live a constant struggle to access their political, social and vital rights. Then, we give an account of the design developed in a collaborative study with self-managed work groups in mental health in Argentina. We retrieve from this study the systematization of learning related to self-management in the direction of the micropolitical constitution of mental health as a right, offering a description of the methodological program ordered in phases of collaborative knowledge generation. Likewise, we then detail the powers arising from the use of co-research in mental health, as conceptual, methodological and epistemological positioning in three specific aspects: the exercise of otherness from the constructions and evaluations in relation to the perceived other, the contributions of the multi-sited ethnography, and the links between molecular-molar dynamics and ethnographic approach to direct research actions and decisions but also health measures. As a closing, we point out the substantial and distinctive contributions of this methodology that moves away from the accumulation of knowledge as it conceives knowledge rather as a possibility of transformation of life forms. In this sense, we place in first term, the multi-referentiality to generate knowledge; secondly, the capillarity to the diversity of co-created narratives, in terms of democratization of voices and the possibility that the knowledge generated be placed on a plane of social-political meaning in reference to access to rights.

Abstract:
<p>The relationship and collaboration between preachers (da'i) and the police is an interesting topic of discussion, especially since there are many cases of terrorism in the name of religion. This article aims to reveal the important role of Da'i Kamtibmas (public security and order) who are members of the FKPM (police and community partnership forum) in strengthening religious moderation in society. This study uses an ethnographic method, several characteristics, namely: exploring or researching social phenomena, unstructured data; few cases or samples; and carried out data analysis and interpretation of data about the meaning of human action. The results showed that the involvement of Da'i Kamtibmas in FKPM was to combat radicalism, extremism, intolerance and terrorism in order to synergize and collaborate with the government and the police in creating security and public order. Therefore, Da'i Kamtibmas need to be equipped with certain standard human resources capabilities such as communication and management skills. So that the preacher can give lectures and advice in accordance with the context of the problem, and can be a mediator between the community and the police.</p><p><em>Relasi dan kolaborasi antara pendakwah (da’i) dengan kepolisian menjadi tema pembahasan menarik, terlebih karena munculnya banyak kasus terorisme atas nama agama.

Abstract:
Hatusua in West Seram is one of the well known site in the archaeological study of Maluku. The first academic record of this site has been existed since the late 1980s. Archaeological studies with sufficient depth has been conducted since the first half of 1990s by the collaboration team of Indonesia and United States. In 2006 and 2009 Balai Arkeologi Ambon conducted research in this area. Despite the high records of archaeological studies, in reality a relatively complete picture and a comprehensive understanding of the site apparently cannot be obtained yet. Since 2012-2015 Balai Arkeologi Ambon started a more structured research which included the mapping of potenial and excavation to identify the character of Hatusua Site. Which is included the chronological test that dated on ± 1,100 BP. This article is the review of the research result in Hatusua Complex in the last three years. Reconissance survey and excavation were adopted as the approach in this research. The study found that Hatusua is a complex of sites with the coastal-inland landscape, open site and cave habitation site, with notes on continuing tradition until recently.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThe development of an efficient and highly specialised healthcare service has meant that patients are moved between units and sectors, and encounter staff from a number of different professions. Scandinavian patients criticise the lack of coherence in such transitions, and politicians are demanding the development of coherent care pathways for patients. This article discusses contradictions inherent in the fact that students are traditionally trained within mono-professional study programmes, even though in the future they will have to be able to create coherent pathways across the professions for patients within the healthcare system. Based on two longitudinal ethnographic studies, and using Critical Theory as a theoretical framework, this article shows how study programmes have the potential to make students co-creators of the healthcare system. These ethnographic studies focus on the profession-oriented learning context, following a specific project entitled ‘InBetween’. InBetween is a collaborative healthcare training project, aiming to develop a course of study to strengthen interprofessional patient-centred skills. In mapping out this field, the research projects explore the development of InBetween and the associated processes of individual, interprofessional and (inter)organisational learning and competence development. Using empirical data as a point of departure, we chart the development of new interprofessional communities of practice across professions, units and sectors. This article shows how communities of supervisors and students manoeuvre among contradictions arising between traditional mono-professionalism and the new interprofessionalism. The key point of this article is how the lack of tolerance of ambivalence in the field poses an obstacle to changes in healthcare. Keywords: Interprofessional education. Healthcare. Interprofessional supervision. Innovative Curriculum. Abstract:
In today's era there are changes in social dynamics of society as a result of the onslaught of modernity. Various things are influenced by these changes, one of which is related to the traditions that exist in society. This study aims to see how the acculturation process of Islamic culture in the past and present and what influences these changes. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques using interviews conducted directly to respondents who still maintain the natural conditions of the community. The research was conducted in the Cikidi Hilir area where the area is still very strong with beliefs with ancestors which was carried out in December 2021. The respondents in this study were 10 people who came from the community in the Cikidi Hilir area. The sample selection used a non-probability sampling technique (purposive sampling) which was aimed at the people who live in the area and are considered to know the tradition/culture to be studied (ruwatan rumah). The results of the research conducted indicate that the implementation of home care in Cidikit Hilir is a form of cultural acculturation. Because all the people in the village are Muslims. Especially in the teachings of Islam, the process of ruwatan house described above does not exist. Ruwatan is the result of the work or copyright handed down by his predecessors. Remembering, it is possible, before Islam came, the people were Sunda Wiwitan. There is acculturation of Islamic culture with the old-fashioned culture of the people. Because, there is a collaboration between prayers that come from the teachings of Islam and the legacy of the ancient Sundanese language. Abstract:
The weirdest people in the world?”.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT This article aims at deepening the possibility of utilizing the art of photography that is rich of sig- nificance of the socio-cultural representation. The visual ethnographic field or photo-ethnography, which is relatively new, can provide assistance and answer for this. Therefore, the author has tried a form of collaboration between the photo-ethnographic approach and the sense approach in doing his research on the subject in order to obtain the deep understanding and the truth significance attached to them. The method of digital photography art creation which is intuitively the basis of the art cre- ation in digital domain, then was tried to be formulated, based on heuristics research in the process of the art of digital photography. This concept was developed from the experience in the field of digital photography and visual anthropology, guided by the basic theories of creativity, quantum theory in art, and theory of artistic creation that has existed before. Through emotional approach as a method, along with the structured systematic approach of photo-ethnography and with the deep awareness of the environment and social life of the subject leads to the creation of the image that tends to be better and more meaningful, more productive in a social sense, and offers a credible empiric documentation. Keywords: photo-ethnography, photography art works  ABSTRAK Artikel ini dibuat dalam upaya melakukan pendalaman mengenai kemungkinan peman- faatan seni fotografi yang kaya makna representasi sosio-kultural. Abstract:
Introduction: This article discusses some of the most relevant mobility strategies employed by sex workers who practice in the sector, within the standard levels -women that offer face to face services with men who are end customers and do not belong to the segment of luxury-, in order to tackle the economic crisis that persists in Spain since the last third of the previous decade.Method: The research is based on an interpretive epistemological perspective, developed through qualitative methodology, with marked ethnographic character. It is supported by material obtained from a multi-sited fielwork in various contexts, spaces and establishments in the province of Almeria. Results: The results consider the specificities of Almeria territory, given the large presence in some regions of immigrants who developed a significant ethnic economy, including consumption of leisure and affective-sexual services. Among these results we emphasize an intensification of the geographical mobility of the women, particularly in search of new employment niches that allow them access to new customers. A relevant functional mobility was also observed, either due to space changing -streets, space, clubs, flats, etc.- and form management -dependent work of others, autonomous, collaborative, etc.-, either by changing their employment status. We could also note a significant labor mobility between branches of the economy, with women enteringing or re-entered in the sector. Women who had previously left those jobs or who initiated it now for the first time in their labour life.Discussion or Conclusion: The conclusions we have reached reveal multiple survival strategies and continuity in the sex sector by the workers, and how those can emerge when considering sex work as part of an any economic sector. Thus, qualitative research, including ethnography, appears as an appropriate methodology for analyzing this sector.

Abstract:
The growing importance of the field of the collaborative economy is associated with the growth of the technological platforms that develop their business model in this sector. These companies occupy a central position in this space and accumulate more and more power to define the space of possibilities of the practices that fit in the collaborative economy. Of all of them, the European company Blablacar seems to occupy a privileged place in this sector. His position is reinforced by a discourse steeped in collaborative rhetoric. This factor, the speech, is a hallmark of these companies. Its objective is to try to frame the business model in a different space from that of more conventional capitalism. However, our analysis of this discourse allows us to identify philosophical and ideological assumptions far removed from altruistic values. On the contrary, it induces a series of surveillance tasks between users to be carried out. Second, the analysis by means of virtual ethnography of its reputation systems allows us to point out the importance of the hidden work on which the sector is sustained. The different dimensions of this hidden work are analyzed. Finally, it is suggested the need, if rigor is to be preserved, to stop using any reference to the term collaborative in the analyzes of this platform or of others based on similar conditions.

Abstract:
Abstract. In the recent years, fandom has gained its own place in the study of cultural changes that occur as a result of digital transformation. On the one hand, psychological features underlining fandom relation have become the motor that drives acceleration of digital skill adaptation. On the other hand, digital transformation also encourages changes in the fandom from old pattern of relationships that are dyadic to triadic. For fandom of international figures, this triadic relationship pattern has resulted in various digital collaboration initiatives at international and local levels. In the context of Indonesia, which is currently promoting a digital culture that is Indonesian-ish in nature, it will be very interesting to see how international fandom localizes its triadic digital collaboration culture. Indonesian Dears with Love is a very interesting case because it clearly states its vision of joining cultural diplomacy. This study seeks to reveal various aspects of digital fandom collaboration using a qualitative virtual ethnographic approach. The data is gathered using various ways ranging from participatory observation, FGD, email correspondence, and autoetnography. The study found that that the culture of digital participation and collaboration in the fandom community plays a major role in motivating members to improve their digital skills. This study also shows that effective digital participation and collaboration in the fandom community can be carried out due to the canon and its values as a social binder, human resources with appropriate capacities and interests, as well as the existence of shared values that guide the process of interaction and communication in the collaboration.

Abstract:
Design Anthropological Inquiries into Patient 2.0:‘The active patient’ has since the early 90s attracted increased attention. It is a widespread idea that telemedicine can support collaboration between health professionals and patients with chronic diseases, thereby improving the quality of life and reducing clinical costs. Recent ethnographic studies show, however, that shifts in responsibilities are inscribed in the technologies and that expectations of ‘homework’ collides with patients’ social situation and hope for the future. Patient 2.0 is a figure that embraces such divergent realities and dreams. Based on actor-network theory’s principle of ‘performativity’ and the ontological turn happening in broader lines of social science, this article presents how methods from participatory design can be a resource for anthropological and sociological inquiry. The article departs on later discourses in which design practices are considered to be a key factor when exploring modern and more dynamic phenomena. Through a case study of Patient 2.0 on a research and development project, the CITH project, I show how we created a design anthropological modality that is significantly different from ethnography. I call this modality the performing actor-network. Finally, I discuss what the consequences are for the researcher’s role, and emphasise the need for being able to make quick shifts between different roles, negotiating interest, and mediate between previously unconnected actors to create valuable effects.
