The combination of more than one methodological (such as social marketing, youth involvement, peer-led education and social media usage) and environmental (school-based intervention, restaurant-based intervention, family-based-intervention) strategy may increase the effectiveness of engaging young people in health interventions aimed at encouraging healthy habits and lifestyles. This thesis aims to understand the factors involved in the worldwide youth obesity epidemic and how they influence obesity. In response to this global challenge, this work provides innovative, effective and quality scientific evidence-based strategies for improving healthy lifestyles among young people. These strategies could lead to a stronger research approach that could benefit both the scientific community and the general knowledge of relevant stakeholders and policy makers, thus fostering a participatory and inclusive multidisciplinary approach for long-lasting and effective results.

Obesity (OB) is one of the main determinants of avoidable disease burden. The objective is to evaluate the effects of the EdAl primary-school-based program that promotes healthy lifestyle, including dietary and Physical Activity (PA recommendations on OB prevalence, in childhood aged 7-8-year-old, over 28 months, and 2-year post-cessation EdAl program. The intervention program is based on 8 lifestyles topics that are developed in 4 educational activities/year for 3 years (12 activities; 1 h/activity) performed by university students acting as Health Promoter Agent (HPA). Data collected include name, gender, date and place of birth, weight, height, body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference, each year of follow-up. Questionnaires on eating and PA habits are filled-in by the parents or guardians each year of follow-up. After 28-months of EdAl program, OB prevalence in intervention boys was decreased 4.39% (p<0.05) compared with control boys, but not in girls. The intervention boys had an effective reduction of −0.24 units in the change of BMI z-score, compared to control; 5.1% more intervention pupils undertook PA >5 hours/week than control pupils (p=0.02). Two-year follow-up, OB prevalence of intervention group was reduced (-5.5%; p<0.01) and BMI z-score (-0.25; p<0.01) in both genders; 16% higher scholars practice ≥4 after-school PA h/week in intervention group (51.7% vs. 34.9%; p<0.01). The design of EdAl program provided 12 activities developed by HPA and are designed to be entertaining but as well informative, and are focused on healthy lifestyle concepts that can be achieved by improving diet and PA practice. A regular, systematic, educational intervention that promotes healthy lifestyle, including dietary and PA recommendations is an easy tool implemented by HPA as part of their university curriculum to reduce the prevalence of OB and increase after-school PA practice in children and these benefits achieved are sustained at 2-year post-cessation intervention.

Full textIn the last year, innumerable problems have been seen in several countries, mainly in the economic, political and health sectors. The first of these has undergone many changes due to COVID-19 and its variants, which has triggered millions of companies or ventures to have to stop or suspend their operations, in other cases they have taken the option of adapting to this "new normal". The effect of this has been the increase in e-commerce in different areas of the market, minimizing traditional commerce and generating an increase in business interactions within social networks. Qaturi Club is the name of the project whose business idea is the subscription and commercialization of healthy products through the implementation of a digital platform that allows creating an energetic community in order to rebuild a better future based on healthy eating. In addition, this initiative tries to provide a sustainable solution focused on taking care of people's health through the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Another special feature of Qaturi is that it has a variety of products for users with different restrictions such as vegan, vegetarian, zero dairy, zero gluten or classic preferences, who normally cannot find products to their liking in markets, supermarkets or online stores; either because of the price, quality of the article or simply because there are not many companies that target these segments of the population. On the other hand, globalization has reached so many places that the business world is very competitive, specifically, the technology industry that is getting stronger every day to have an advantage. A clear example are the new digital business models such as the sale of products or services via subscriptions, affiliations, crowfunding, among others. That is why, for Qaturi, innovative marketing, operational and managerial strategies will be applied, with the aim of building loyalty and optimizing the experience of people for the common well-being.

Changes in lifestyles are accompanied by an increase of prevalence of overweight and obesity which cause health problems.
This project has two main aims: the first one is to evaluate the effect of an educational intervention focused on healthy lifestyles, on the prevalence of overweight and obesity in a population of 7 and 8 years old.
The second one is to design a programming model of health promotion and conduct healthy lifestyle activities to prevent overweight and obesity.
The confirmation of the high percentage of school children with overweight and obesity, justifies the need for intervention to reduce this progressive increase. The Nutrition Education program conducted by students of Health Sciences at schools and reinforced in the children's environment, improve their eating habits, physical activity and is associated with a 4,5% decrease in the prevalence of obesity in the children of Reus.

Full textAbstract: Different authors and sources say that if some years ago the environmental problem aroused interest in a small group of people, this has been changing over the years, advances in technology and consumer awareness. Some time ago in developed countries there was talk about types of consumption, being vegetarian, vegan or practicing a healthy lifestyle. This trend was growing and being inserted in different countries around the world. Thus, a few years ago, the term healthy lifestyle has been growing among Peruvian consumers, especially in millennials. This segment of the public seems to have a closer approach with the different variables that integrate having a healthy lifestyle. The variable power within healthy style is analyzing the present study and as from this the both modern and traditional market has been forced to adapt to this type of consumer. In Peru today there are certain consumers who are looking for products that are less harmful to their health, less processed or that have nutritious ingredients. Different outlets such as supermarkets and stores specializing in healthy products / services have begun to position themselves. The online channel for the dissemination of this lifestyle has been essential for its growth. Instagram is one of the most widely used platforms by millennials, which is why businesses and healthy brands have gained ground and new consumers based on their presence and communication in this social network, which has been used as a marketing tool.

The objective is to evaluate the effectiveness, using different methodologies, of health education programs to encourage healthy lifestyles and reduce obesity (OB) in children and adolescents. The program effectiveness includes the effects analysis when it is implemented in other localities, and the post-cessation intervention assessment of the results that were sustained at long-term. The EdAl-2 program (Educació en Alimentació) reproducibility, that was performed in Terres de l’Ebre schools (Edal-2) among 7-8 y children over 22 months. EdAl-2 confirms an increase of fruit and vegetables consumption, as well as, after-school physical activity (PA) in boys, but there are no changes in OB-related outcomes. The assessment of 4-y post-cessation EdAl intervention effects mantained, showed a reduction of OB-related outcomes and an improvement of after-school PA. Additionally, to increase effectiveness of interventions new methodologies are proposed. A new proposal is the design of “Som la Pera” intervention (component of European Youth Tackling Obesity project) focused on the improvement of lifestyles in adolescents. “Som la Pera” considers social marketing criteria and is based on activities developed as 10 challenges (5 challenge/year) designed and performed by 5 adolescents to their peers, using social media to disseminate health messages and involving family and community. The improvement of funding and strategies will be the key to achieve a permanently sustainability post-intervention cessation that is expected at 2015. On the other hand, the identification of the diet quality characteristics is the base to integrate the recommendations with new effective strategies to tackle obesity. The provided information increases the ways to assess effectiveness of health programs to encourage healthy lifestyles and reduce childhood and adolescent OB.

Full textThis project is based on the development, production, and commercialization of YO&GO. The product is aimed towards those who reside in Metropolitan Lima of ages 25 to 50 years old from the socioeconomic class A, B, C characterized by having a sophisticated, modern lifestyle, and healthy nutritional habit. We identify a group of people who seek a healthier lifestyle and are conscious of the process behind the production of the goods they consume as well as the benefits they provide. Likewise, it is inferred there are numerous businesses that market natural products, however, with little differentiation. For this reason, the commercialization of natural yogurt is proposed, which not only seeks to complement a balanced diet but also strengthen the immune system. In this document, an investigation is carried out on the consumer, the suppliers, the competitions, the interest groups, and the industry of healthy dairy products at a national and international level. In addition to this, strategies have also been created taking into account the 4Ps of marketing along with the execution of a plan directed towards the development of social networks and a CSR plan for the company to be oriented and achieve the objectives established. Finally, a financial plan has been developed where an initial investment of S/. 22,500 is estimated to conclude the project with an expected profitability of S/. 37,780.81.

Full textIntroduction: Obesity has been described as Epidemic of the 21st Century due to its great increase in recent years, both in adults and children. Advances in technology have encouraged the use of mobile devices in the research and practice of health promotion to counteract this problematic trend by promoting and maintaining healthy eating and physical activity habits. It is known as mHealth ("mobile health"). Objectives: The general objective of this thesis is to evaluate the evaluation of complications that use mHealth technology focused on reducing weight in people who are overweight or obese, based on the transformation of a healthy diet and the regular practice of physical activity. A first specific objective, a theoretical level, has been a systematic review of the scientific literature on the state of the art in the last 10 years. A second objective has been carried out in an empirical study to compare the difficulty of two analyzes based on changes in lifestyle as a tool to reduce body weight. Methodology: In the first study a systematic review of the literature has been carried out following the PRISMA statement. The second study corresponds to a 12-week intervention, based on the follow-up of a healthy diet and lifestyle changes, with the aim of losing weight. The constant sample of 30 healthy and inactive adult participants (19 women and 11 men), with a BMI of 28.73 kg / m2 (SD = 2.73), an age of 42 years (SD = 9.30) and divided in two groups: a conventional intervention with follow-up from face-to-face visits (n = 15) and an online intervention using mHealth technology (n = 15). Results: For the systematic review, 47 studies from an initial total of 267 studies were analyzed. The majority (74.5%) presented sample sizes greater than 50 participants and included both genders, the percentage of women (64%) being higher than that of men. 53.2% included overweight adults (BMI≥25) and obesity (BMI≥30). In most of the studies (87.2%), combined interventions that included diet and physical activity, aimed at lifestyle changes, were performed. The majority intervention period was less than 6 months (57% of the studies). 72.3% of the studies demonstrated the positive effects of mHealth interventions on overweight and / or obesity in all its categories (mHealth vs. conventional treatment; mHealth together with conventional treatment, vs mHealth; mHealth vs. passive control; mHealth of low intensity vs high intensity mHealth). The results of the empirical study reflect statistically significant improvements in all anthropometric parameters (weight, BMI, waist circumference-WC and hip), at the 16 end of the two interventions, for all participants (p <, 001). The only difference between the two groups was for WC. The face-to-face group achieved a weight reduction of 4.56 kg (5.5% weight loss) and the online group of 5.6kg (6.4% weight loss). Conclusion: The results of the review indicate that mHealth-based interventions can be an effective tool to improve health behaviors in people who are overweight or obese. The most important conclusion of the empirical study is that the mHealth intervention, which combines personalized diet and recommendations to increase physical activity, is as effective in weight loss as the conventional intervention, resulting in the two significantly effective interventions. However, at the applied level, it is important to reduce the body weight of the mHealth group by more than 1kg at the end of 12 weeks, compared to the conventional treatment group.

Full textThis study responds to a social necessity and to the interest of professionals of the physical-sport activity to know the social and familiar situation and conditions in which the adults live majors on 60 years of the municipality of Tapachula Chiapas, Mexico. We find that in our country (Mexico) few empirical investigations exist that approach and describe to the characteristics and morfofunctional and psychological conditions of the subjects of the third age. In this investigation data are contributed on the sociodemographic situation: civil state, economic labor activity, level of studies and conditions, as well as behaviors, factors and correlates before the physical-sport practice at three moments of the life: stage of familiar dependency (from the childhood to the formation of own family), stage of familiar independence (from the marriage until it turns the 59 years) and stage of greater adult (greater of 60 years), which allowed us to analyze the evolution of the behaviors of this population. In particular, data have taken shelter exceeds what they realize physical-sport practice, those that have left and those that never have practiced physical-sport activities, as well as the reasons by which have these behaviors and the self perception that they own of his physical practice, his physical training conditions and its health. As conclusion can be affirmed that our population almost half has a high level of illiteracy, caused by a stagnation of century, that the habits and the behaviors remained unremovable, probably by the incipient initial formation of the professor of Physical education that has a determining paper in the formation of habits, taking to this population to have very low rate of medical instructors of physical-sport activities of free time and with some problems of health. The reasons for practice modify with the passage of the years, in the stage of youth are related to the intrinsic reasons. Nevertheless, in the stage of greater adult of 60 years they tie, mainly, with extrinsic reasons being related strongly to sex, level of studies and economic situation. But the abandonment and the total physical inactivity league together with the intrinsic reasons, like the health and the disease.

Full textmainly through retrospective methods and instruments whose main limitation is that they can increase the response bias and memory of the participants. The Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) is a methodology that allows capturing behavior data in real time, naturalistic environments and with multiple repeated measures. Objectives: The general objective of this thesis is to deepen the EMA methodology for the recording and monitoring of physical activity behavior in relation to health. Two specific objectives have been proposed: review the literature on the use of EMA in the field of healthy ph 1y)s Sicyasl taecmtiavtiticya; l2ly) Determine the feasibility of an instrument based on EMA methodology and mHealth technology to monitor physical activity behavior. Methodology: In the first study, a systematic review of the literature following the PRISMA statement was carried out. The second study corresponds to a longitudinal design during seven days of the week with university students, to register the physical activity behaviors with EMA methodology and with mHealth technology, using selfreports and accelerometry. Results: A total of 74 were eligible for the systematic review. Most of the articles studied children, adolescents, university students and adults and only 3 to older people. With regard to the duration of the studies, 44 had a duration of between 1 and 7 days, while 7 studies lasted more than 1 month. About the number of reports, the most common frequency was 3 to 7 indications per day. Most studies used mHealth technology (51.3%), with smartphones and accelerometers being the most applied. With respect to the empirical study, the profile of energy expenditure of the physical activities recorded from the app, reveal that students spent most of their time in low intensity activities (81.4%). In relation to the comparison of the results obtained from the mRSAF app with a direct measurement of quantified accelerometry through the smartphone itself, our results reveal a significant and positive correlation. Regarding the comparisons between the parameters of accelerometry according to the intensity of the activities, our results suggest a statistical significance for all the accelerometry variables studied. Therefore, it can be considered that estimates of low, moderate, and vigorous intensity have acceptable correlations with the measurement of the smartphone's accelerometer. Conclusion: The use of EMA to study physical activity seems to have many benefits, including ecological validity and minimization of recall bias. However, according to our review, studies report these procedures heterogeneously; therefore, methodological consensus is required in this field. In relation to the empirical study, the viability of the mRSAF app is suggested as an instrument used by the EMA to evaluate the physical activity profile. The mRSAF allows obtaining quantitative and qualitative information that may be favorable in studies of physical activity behavior in the general population. Finally, we propose the mEMA concept to the EMA methodology based on mHealth technology. This term could be extended when the EMA methodology is used to evaluate other lifestyle behaviors through mHealth technology.

Full textThe main purpose of this study was to examine health lifestyle and self-concept during early adolescence across the gender, age and socioeconomic status; and to examine the relationships among the health behaviours and the dimensions of self-concept.The sample was representative of students from the Valencian Community (N = 965) between 11 and 16 years old.Self-concept was evaluated by a Spanish version of Harter's (1985) Self-Perception Profile for Children (Atienza, Balaguer & Moreno, 2002), and health behaviours and demographic variables were evaluated by a Spanish traslation of the WHO's research protocol about Health Behaviour in School-Children (HBSC) (Balaguer, 1990, 2002; Wold, 1995).The results of this investigation indicated that substance use (tobacco, alcohol and cannabis) is initiated during early adolescence. The perceptions on different domains of self-concept (excepting social acceptance) declined between 11 and 16 years old. Athletic competence and social acceptance are the dimensions with the strongest influence on physical activity and sport practice. Behavioral conduct and social acceptance have the most powerfull influence on sustance use. Finally, sport's practice has a negative effect on substance use in girls.

Lifestyle modifications have shown positive results in preventing and treating metabolic syndrome. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of three healthy lifestyle interventions as a primary care intervention tool for managing metabolic risk factors, in sedentary adults at the end and after of 24 weeks of follow-up (Belluga’t de CAP a peus). Methodology: Forty-week three-arm randomized controlled clinical trial (T0 baseline; T1=16-week intervention and T2=24-week follow-up) of seventy-five sedentary adults (34-55 years old; SD=4,6) with at least one metabolic risk factor. They were randomized into one of the following arms: (1) aerobic interval training plus lifestyle counseling (AIT) (n=25); (2) low-to-moderate-intensity continuous training plus lifestyle counseling (TCT) (n=27); or (3) lifestyle counseling alone (CON) (n=23). Metabolic syndrome risk scores, accelerometer-based physical activity and self-reported dietary habits and cost-effective were assessed. All groups used an interactive guide designed and validated to improve suitability and readability. Results: AIT was well accepted, with high enjoyment scores (p=0,00). All groups showed similar improvements in metabolic syndrome risk scores (SES=0,46) and dietary habits (SES=0,30). Moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) was increased in all study groups, being the number of responders higher in AIT and TCT groups (50%) than in COU group (21%). Both AIT and TCT had a greater impact on sedentary behavior than COU (63,5 % vs 30,4%). AIT is cost-effective for increasing MVPA (incremental cost: 0,06€ / minute increased MVPA vs 0,52€ at CON). In a hypothetical implementation of primary care, TCT would have the best cost-effectiveness (1,32€ / minute increased MVPA). Were improved the interactive guide suitability by 10% and it had a good acceptance among the users. Conclusions: AIT appears to be an effective strategy in sedentary individuals with metabolic risk factors, and it could be included in lifestyle intervention programs in primary care. Lifestyle counseling at primary care is cost-effective at reducing metabolic risk factors. Improving the suitability and readability of education resources can have a positive impact on patient knowledge, and hence on intervention effectiveness. Trial Registration: Clinical Trials.gov. Full textThis research seeks to know if there is a relationship between the intention to buy sugar-free products and fashion to lead a healthy lifestyle. Likewise, as the second variable of the study, we want to verify that there is a relationship between the brand knowledge generated by the brands of sugar-free products with the intention of buying them. The study will be carried out in the city of Metropolitan Lima in particular for citizens of socio-economic level A and B. To conclude the study we will focus on how the brands that have their advertising and packaging, as well as how the people of Lima seek always be in the hands of sociocultural trends without any importer. To see the veracity of the study, a correlational investigation was carried out using the non-experimental design. Likewise, the research had two parts: a qualitative one that was implemented through 170 studies and a qualitative one that was carried out through public primary depth interviews as experts in the sector. The results of these are modifications in chapter 3 and chapter 4 of this paper, complementing the introduction and the theoretical framework. Finally, the hypotheses raised in the study can be affirmed thanks to the correlational analysis of variables.

Health determinants can influence the health of people and communities and, therefore, become essential for choosing healthy lifestyle habits. Among the various determinants of health, we can highlight the lifestyles that are seen as an opportunity to educate people, families and communities to adopt preventive attitudes to health and their value, in order to obtain health gains. Lifestyles are described as patterns of behavior, habits, attitudes and values that are influenced, modified, encouraged or inhibited by the constant process of socialization. In addition, the lifestyle of each individual is conditioned by socioeconomic, educational and professional factors. It is known that constant exposure to factors of work stress triggers consequences for the health of professionals, which nurses are no exception. Nurses are vulnerable daily to contact with debilitated and sick people, to the fact that they must deal with death, to strained and hierarchical interpersonal relationships, as well as to work schedules established by shifts, including the night shift. It is therefore relevant to understand and, later, intervene in lifestyles through strategies that encourage individual and social commitment. This will allow the adoption of salutogenic lifestyles. Salutogenic lifestyles aim to promote health and empower people by providing knowledge as a tool for them to be responsible for making healthy choices for their health and well-being. The purpose of the study is to identify the Salutogenic Lifestyles of Nurses in a private hospital in the north of the country. This is a descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative study, for which the Fantastic Lifestyle Assessment questionnaire was used. This questionnaire was adapted and validated for the Portuguese population by Silva, Brito and Amado (2014), to collect data. The sample chosen for the selection of participants was non-probabilistic for convenience and consists of 36 nurses working in a private hospital in the north of the country. It was concluded that, in the study sample, nurses have better results in the Family and Friends domains; Health and Sexual Behaviors; and Other Behaviors. The results also reveal the need for greater investment in the prevention and awareness of nurses who constituted the sample for the adoption of a healthy lifestyle, mainly in the domain of Activity, Nutrition, Career/ Type of Personality and Insight. With this, it was concluded that, according to the results obtained from the 36 nurses working in a private hospital in the north of the country and based on the Fantastic Lifestyle Assessment questionnaire, the lifestyles of most nurses working in a private hospital in the north of the country are classified as “Good” and “Very Good” with the respective percentages of 19.4% and 72.2% of the entire sample.

A person's lifestyle is one of the main factors that cause chronic non-communicable diseases, presenting a great impact on morbidity, well-being and quality of life. There are several known factors that can influence the health of individuals commonly designated by health determinants (OMS, 2017). Nurses' excess work affects their quality of life, with demanding roles and expectations, such that it imposes the ability to modify routines and acquire new working hours. With the different schedules to be fulfilled, the healthy life habits begin to be left aside due to the unavailability and fatigue after shifts, making the health professional sedentary and without controlledeating habits, as well as the deregulation of their resting period. The research question elaborated for this study was: "What is the lifestyle of nurses working in health care institutions in the north of the country?" The objective of this work was to identify the lifestyles of nurses working in health care institutions in thenorth of the country. To achieve this purpose, a simple descriptive quantitative research study was carried out through the application of the "fantastic lifestyle" questionnaire. The study's population is nurses working in different institutions, with a sample consisting of 40 participants. The main results consisted of finding that most nurses in the north of the country have a lifestyle classified as "very good" (94 points) according to the questionnaire "fantastic lifestyle", followed by 32.5% with a "good" lifestyle and 7.5% have an "excellent" lifestyle. It is also noteworthy to mention that the majority of the participants are not smokers, only drink alcohol occasionally and only one of the respondents uses drugs. In view of the obtained results, it reveals the need for greater investment in the prevention and sensitization of these professionals through the adoption of healthy lifestyles in the domains of: physical activity/associativism, nutrition, sleep and stress, work /Personality type and introspeption.
