Full textThe aim of the present work is to raise and analyse issues thematized by Fernando Pessoa which are relevant to think heteronomy as an impersonal potency in artistic expression, stablishing a relationship with concepts and problems dealt with by contemporary philosophy. In addition, we intend to elaborate on an effective dialogue so as to strenghten the ties between poetry and philosophy, as well as between creation and thought. Along the five building parts of this text, the main purpose is to analyse certain aspects of specific heteronyms of Pessoa, which brings poetry close to an ontological perspective. Pessoa pursued, throughout his work, different voices that claim for diferential places for a subject which is multiple from the beginning. Thus, the pessoan writings allow not only a privileged and consistent access to the questions related to life and the relation between man and nature, but also produces a unique way of presenting thought, which questions, at once, philosophy itself and its traditional methods. Therefore, taking language as a field for difference, we can finally take the heteronomy as a living literary example of production of senses, by distancing itself from significations and enabling a link with the world that do not differentiates itself from the artistic creation.

The word aesthetics comes from the Greek IO0NTKN or aisthesis and its mean-ing is tied to perception and also to the notion of what is sensitive or that which relates to sensitivity. When Baumgarten first used the word aesthetic in 1735, he described it as the science of beauty. In Courses in Aesthetics, pub-lished in 1835, Hegel describes his philosophy of art, the science of beauty, and more specifically, of artistic beauty, since it excludes natural beauty. He shows the relationship of poetry with other arts and explains precisely poet-ry#fs place as an art. In the Zibaldone di Pensieri (1817-1832), Leopardi de-velops his aesthetic ideas by creating a system of Fine Arts, speculating about the beautiful, the sublime, pleasure, simplicity and habit, novelty, imitation, the ugly, surprise, taste, among others. Therefore, the main objective of this thesis is to verify how the aesthetics of Hegel and Leopardi dialogue, espe-cially, the formulations about poetry. The analysis allowed noticing that there are similarities between the aesthetic approaches in poetry from the German philosopher and the Italian poet regarding the distinction between natural and beautiful, the imagination, the genius, the cheering of the old and the criticism of the Romantics, the taste, the ugliness, and simplicity. But the central point of convergence between the two scholars should be assigned to the imagina-tion, since in Leopardi it is also related to sensitivity and artistic creation. On the other hand, the divergent elements are the notion of beauty, poetry in the hierarchy of literary genres, the imitation and the sublime. Yet the concept of beauty is the main difference between Hegel and Leopardi, since the first moves on the grounds of spirit and history, and the second moves in the field of nature. In Hegel, the reflection is anchored in sensitive stimuli, in Leopardi on the other hand, in the habit.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
ABSTRACT: This study has its origin in the statement of Fernando Pessoa: "I was a poet animated by the philosophy, not a philosopher with poetic faculties". In this way, through an immanent analysis, first it will be investigated the constitution of the aesthetic ideas of the poet and his heteronyms, Antônio Mora and Álvaro de Campos. It will be followed by a reflection constituted from the critical reading of poems of both Pessoahimself and the three main heteronyms, Alberto Caeiro, Ricardo Reis and Álvaro de Campos, considering the discussions on the relationship between poetry and philosophy and what it means, in this context, to be “a poet animated by philosophy”.

________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
The purpose of the present thesis is to approach the space of helplessness in Trilce (1922), one of the poetic works of the Peruvian author César Vallejo. In Trilce, the issue of helplessness is marked by a yearning in both the colloquial language and in the poet’s own life, especially when he was in prison. Due to its profound concepts of poetry, language and the author’s subjectivity, Hegel’s Aesthetics was adopted as a theoretical basis. Thus, the first chapter – after the conceptual and practical definition of the term helplessness – approaches the helplessness in César Vallejo’s life and its influence on Trilce, which deserves an interpretation. It also focuses on the author’s poetics and the characteristics of his language. Chapter Two is devoted to the study of Hegel’s Aesthetics. As we reflect upon poetics, we come to understand Vallejo’s concepts as well as obtain theoretical references to approach more profoundly the issue of helplessness. In the final chapter, an analysis of selected poems from Trilce is offered, with the basis on what we have gathered in the first two chapters, grounded on the theme of helplessness in Vallejo’s language, life and in the constitution of the author’s subjectivity. By means of his individual manners of feeling and expression, Vallejo addresses the questions of human existence itself. Thus we may learn something about ourselves as well as how to improve our ways of communicating.

Full textBy merging cultural criticism and academic research, we aim to rummage the poetic works of Patti Smith and Ana Cristina Cesar, starting from their respective contexts in the 1970s the New York punk scene in the United States, and marginal poetry in Brazil , and on to explore their points of convergence within the micropolitics of the feminine and an aesthetics of confrontation. The two poets are taken as cartographers of a time and of the changes that are intrinsic to that time, which they chart on the making of poetry, on the body of language, by means of a politics-aesthetics. We are led to politics as aesthetics a politics of what is contingent, of subjectivity and of femaleness; Deleuzes minor politics, or politics of the minimal self. We will also discuss how, in the voices of the feminine (further than that of feminism) that underpin their poetics/aesthetics, a new kind of experimentalism opens up within a genealogy of art and culture and the legacy of modern poets thus engaging in a dialogue with a small/minor History, with the microsphere, the outsider, and disruption; unfoldings of nascent notions of the post-modern and the contemporary.

Full textThis dissertation aims at focusing on questions revolving around poetic texts produced by students involved in the project Art and Social Intervention which had been held in extra-curricular shift lessons, in E.M.E.F. Prof. Aurélio Arrobas Martins public school, between 2013 and 2016. In this work, I attempt at (i) evaluating the actions developed in the Art and Social Intervention project as well as educational procedures related to aesthetical education which aims at promoting protagonism, autonomy and culture production based on poetic languages; (ii) describing the sequence of pedagogical activities related to poetic texts production; (iii) analysing poetic texts about the themes of ethical and aesthetical commitment and identity formation. The analysis has been based on the theoretical works of Bakhtin and Volochinov (2014), in a language approach that considers the concrete statement. As far as this perspective is concerned, I managed to understand the ideological dimension of students poems. The analysis also resorted to the contributions in the area of literature and aesthetics of Petit (2009 and 2013) and Vigotski (2010), which privilege individual and social dimensions of art and try to figure to what extent aesthetical education can help as a repairing function of social and psychic damages. Regarding the theoretical foundation, I have described the main actions developed throughout the project Art and Social Intervention , such as the publishing of the book Entre versos controversos: o canto de Itaquera, a compilation of poems written by poet students. In this perspective, I have analysed twenty two poems which were published in the book with a view to understanding to what extent the initiative has contributed to the upbringing of those youngsters as far as social interaction is concerned which also allowed them to assume a position towards social events and make them more aware and active citizens. From the analysis of the poems, not only have I noticed that the poet students have found in creative writing a means of subjective construction but also resistance towards the external chaos and social problems. The achieved results display that the activities in the project had a paramount importance in the development of students sensitivity as well as in their own identity formation. I believe the aesthetical experience allowed poet students to interpret the world in a different way and they have found manners of expressing resistance and also their own self-steem and of the neighbourhood where they live from their own artistic production.
