Abstract:
The movie substitutes such as home cinema, video on demand (VOD), and plasma televisions leaded to a declining attendance of patrons to movie theatres, which urged the invention of IMAX theatre to call movie lovers back to cinemas. Many cinemas plan to renovate their regular digital theatre auditoriums into IMAX theatre auditoriums, but there lack of study for built environmental variations between regular and IMAX theatres. Through the combination of a questionnaire survey and a case study on a leading cinema company in Malaysia, the Tanjong Golden Village Cinemas (TGV), this paper aims to identify the structural and architectural differences between regular digital theatre auditorium and IMAX theatre auditorium in the perspectives of acoustic and visual experiences. The most significant factor influencing the satisfaction of visualization in IMAX is “immersive of picture” followed by “sharpness of colour” and “feels as part of the picture”. The most significant indicators for audio experience in IMAX is “direction of object”, which enable an audience to trace the direction and position of an object on the screen without looking at it. The built environmental variations between regular and IMAX theatres in terms of screen, camera and projection methods, seating, architectural layout, wall design, and sound system arrangement were thoroughly compared in the case study.

Abstract:
Surgical site infections are the most common cause of hospital acquired nosocomial infections. To evaluate the effects of applying and following the international standard guidelines for clean surgery on the final infection control in operation theatres, a comparative study was designed and carried out during the period from May 2014 to February 2015, at two operating theatres, the general surgical and the gynaecological theatre at Azadi teaching hospital – Duhok city – Kurdistan region. A total number of 492 samples (swabs and settles plate) were taken from different sites of intimate contact with the patients and were divided into two parts, pre (part I) and post (part II) samples. They were taken in a periodic day to day, and collected periodically three days of the week (Saturday -Monday- Wednesday) for a period of one month. Swabs were taken from different places were streaked on Blood and Mac-Conkey agar plates and incubated at 37°C under aerobic conditions for 24 hours. After incubation, the bacterial colonies were counted and diagnosed by Phoenix. The concentration of bacteria was expressed as colony forming units. The rates of bacterial contamination in places of close contact with patients of both theatres before the application of the WHO guidelines were as following: out of 348 samples collected from the surgical theatre in the first part; 105 (30.1%) showed significant growth in comparison to 32/144(22.2%) that showed significant growth from the gynaecological theatre, while all samples in part II from the surgical theatre showed no significant growth that 100%, in comparison to141/144(97.92%) in the gynaecological theatre in the second part after application of the WHO guidelines. As a conclusion there are 3 factors which have an effect on the result of surgical site infections namely patients, staff and environmental factors. The environmental factors have the greatest impact which are indirectly related to the degree of application of WHO standards of operation theaters.

Abstract:
There are multiple ways of transferring human values, cultures and history from one generation to another. Literature, Art, Paintings and Theatrical performances are the real reflection of any civilization. In the history of subcontinent, theatres played a vital role in promoting the Pakistani and Indian history; Mughal culture and traditions. Pakistani theatre, “Ajoka” played significant role to propagate positive, humanitarian and liberal humanist values. This research aims to investigate the transformation in the history of Pakistani theatre specifically the “Ajoka” theatre that was established under the government of military dictatorship in Pakistan in the late nineteenth century. It was not a compromising time for the celebration of liberal humanist values in Pakistan as the country was under the rules of military dictatorship. The present study is intended to explore the dissemination of liberal humanist values in the plays and performances of “Ajoka” theatre. The research is meant to highlight the struggle of “Ajoka” theatre for enhancing the message of love, tolerance, peace and other humanist values in such crucial time.

This research paper is about Grotowski´s poor theatre. Before Grotowski´s there were many theatre, but these theatre were not suitable for Grotowski´s purpose. Before Grotowski´s theatre there were Schechner´s Environmental theatre, Stainslavaski´s Experimental theatre, Meyerhold´s Avant-grade theatre, Alexander Tiraov´s Kamerney theatre, Brecht´s Epic theatre, Judith Malina and Tulian Beck´s Living theatre, Bread and Puppet theatre by Peter Schumana. During the 1960´s a voice of deploration came by a number of persons, who demanded the abandonment of every element of the theatre borrowed from other media and not really required. This leading exponent was Jerzy Grotowski´s Poor theatre.

Abstract:
Opera theatre forms an important part of Chinese Canadian cultural history. Since first appearing in Victoria in the 1860s, Chinese theatres were woven into the community’s everyday life, performing Cantonese opera, the regional genre known to the majority of Chinese immigrants who came from the Pearl River Delta of southern China. A brief survey of historical city maps from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century shows their central role in Chinese Canadian community of the Pacific Northwest. Recent discovery of a Chinese theatrical company’s daily business receipts provides a window into the performance culture and daily operations of a Chinese theatre between 1916 and 1918 in Vancouver. This vibrant period of the 1910s paved the way for full-fledged theatre operation in the following decade that brought about a new era of Chinese opera performance in Canada.

Abstract:
It is very critical and important to maintain the appropriate climatic conditions in the operation theatre. In paper, we present an approach to control total environmental conditions for the operation theatre. Generally for environmental control of operation theatre air conditioning system is installed. In operation theatre environmental parameters like humidity, temperature, oxygen and particles etc. have to be controlled precisely. All the environmental parameters are of nonlinear nature hence, difficult to control or model with the help of conventional control systems. Keeping in mind the complexity and nonlinearity of these parameters as fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for controlling all the environment of operation theatre has been designed. For this fuzzy logic control system temperature, micro particles, humidity & oxygen have been taken as input parameters and based on these parameters speed of AC motor as well as the speed of exhaust motor are controlled. The control system is implemented with the help of different fuzzy rules and their membership functions derived from actual conditions. The performance of the system for control of operation theatre was studied and it has been observed that the result obtained with the fuzzy logic control system provides more effective and economical control. The fuzzy logic control system has been implemented using fuzzy Tech development tool.

Abstract:
The aim of my research was to introduce drama, in the form of theatre for development processes, to local Grahamstown Primary School teachers, and to work closely with one teacher to explore theatre for development in the classroom, as a means of introducing both environmental education and learner-centred, constructivist teaching methodologies. I started my research by interviewing Primary School principals as well as sending out questionnaires to teachers, to survey their understanding and practice of drama and environmental education in the school curriculum and to invite them to participate in the research project. In collaboration with Educational Drama and Theatre students, I developed two workshops to introduce theatre for development processes such as image theatre and role-play to the teachers. Nine teachers attended this workshop which was video-taped. After the workshop I gave two lessons at a local school, in partnership with a teacher. Throughout this process I kept a research journal. All action components of the research were followed up with individual interviews, group discussions and a focus group. Although the study gave rise to multiple themes, I chose to highlight two: Firstly, Curriculum 2005 advocates a move towards more learner-centred,constructivist and process-orientated pedagogies. All of the participants in this study, including myself, had intentions of adopting a new approach tq education and teaching but found that we often reverted back to earlier learnt roles of product-orientated, text-based, authoritarian approaches to education which we originally had rejected. Secondly, I reflect on how we set out viewing environmental education, education, drama and research as a process and yet all the participants, including myself, continually tried to 'put on' the perfect performance in the form of a drama, a learning experience and research. This project was a participatory research project. The textwork of the research reflects a post-structural orientation. It has been written in the form of a drama to represent the many voices of the participants, but also to question the role of research in society and make research more accessible to non-academic readers. I also intend to perform the research process at a later stage.

Abstract:
Sri Lanka is the theatre of a three decade-long armed ethnic conflict between the predominantly Sinhala government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eel am - the militant group fighting for a separate state for the island's Tamil speaking people. This contemporary conflict is rooted in a perceived historical crisis between Tamil and Sinhala ethnic groups which spans more than two millennia. This study examines the perceived historical crisis between the two lingua ethnic nations from a postmodern perspective, to better understand the contemporary interpretation which has led to a militant and at times terrorist conflict. It also focuses on the fusion of contemporary and historical narratives used by the L TTE to further their strategic goals. The study defines the notion of terrorism as a politico-military strategy stripped of its populist pejorative interpretations, to understand the strategy of terrorism as part of a communication process designed to terrorise a target audience and demand its political compliance by harnessing terror as a psychological weapon. The study further discusses the role of traditional mainstream media in this communication process and the result of state imposed media censorships set in place to prevent terrorist news voices from reaching the media consumer. This thesis argues media censorship creates a news media vacuum ideally suited to terrorist-backed alternative cyber media, such as Tamilnet, which are resistant to state imposed media censorship. This results in the alternative media being the only significant source of news from the conflict zone, creating a media monopoly which allows terrorist narratives and politically loaded reports to filter into mainstream media copy. Based on an analysis of Tamilnet, this study outlines the role of terrorist-backed cyber media and its relationship with traditional and contemporary sources of news in the current media landscape.

Abstract:
The concern for the natural environment began a long time ago. Throughout the previous two decades, the globe appealed for proactive ecological management. The term eco- friendly or environmentally friendly is also widespread nowadays, relating to laws, activities, products, services etc., theatre having, minimal, reduced or not having negative impact on eco- systems and the environment. Environmental performance is the relationship between the organization and the environment. Current writing on environmental management recognizes that with a specific end goal to accomplish environmental sustainability objectives, associations can use proper human resource management practices to motivate their employees. To this end, incredible endeavors have been made to investigate what drives workers to participate in proecologic practices that help their organization to turn green and be sustainable. Additionally, a number of studies demonstrate that there is a connection among the green activities, organizational performance and corporate profitability within any association. The main purpose behind this thesis is to extend our understanding of how the concept of green management can be positioned as part of the human resource function. The motivation is to highlight the importance of building sustainable and eco-friendly business, and to gain knowledge of the outcomes after adopting Green human resource management in the organizations.

Abstract:
In this paper we report about ongoing research on navigation assistance in virtual environments. Our aim is to contribute to the development of forms of navigation assistance that enable non-professional visitors of a virtual environment to find their way without previous training. The environment used in this research is a virtual theatre that models a real world music theatre. This virtual theatre can be used for exploration as well as for transactions and goal-directed search for information. We first present some design principles for navigation assistance in virtual environments and some design criteria for assistance by personal agents. Subsequently we describe how these principles and criteria have been implemented in our experimental virtual theatre environment. Finally we give an overview of future research plans.

Abstract. At present, the education of Traditional Chinese theatre arts in universities is lacking in both “software” and “hardware”, which is in the dilemma of being marginalized by teaching. There are many common problems in the bottleneck and causes of many kinds of theatre arts in the development of universities education, such as the shortage of teachers, the lack of interest of students, the weakness of scientific research, the poor environment of Traditional Chinese Theatre arts and so on. In view of the above problems, it is suggested to adopt multi-channel strategies to cultivate students' interest, improve the supporting Traditional Chinese Theatre arts curriculum, and optimize the traditional Chinese Theatre arts environment, so as to change the current dilemma of Traditional Chinese Theatre arts in universities.

Leonesio, Marco, Giacomo Bianchi, and Stefano Borgia. "A Virtual Components Approach for Energy Consumption Modeling in the Machinery Sector." In ASME 2012 11th Biennial Conference on Engineering Systems Design and Analysis. American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2012. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/esda2012-82414.

Abstract:
In recent years, energy consumption issues, boosted by environmental concerns, are becoming of paramount importance in the manufacturing field. In particular, machinery sector has been the theatre of several initiatives and projects aimed at an eco-efficient design and use of the machines. In this context, energy consumption modeling is considered a powerfull tool to foresee and optimize energy efficiency by design. On the other side, while each company has to develop numerical models of the internally designed machine elements, it has to be taken into account that machine productivity, eco-performance and cost are all strongly influenced by the employed commercial components (e.g. motors, sensors, controllers, transmissions, guide ways), that must be also be modeled but it is unrealistic to expect that the machinery builder develops by himself all required models. In this paper, the industrial adoption of simulation tools and methodologies for energy consumption modeling is regarded as an application of the more general “Model Based Product Development” methodology. In particular, the development of “functional component models”, seen as Virtual Components (“VC”) to be assembled in the Virtual Machine, is suggested as the key to foster co-modeling activity involving suppliers. A proper business model is then proposed to guarantee the sustainability of the co-operation scenario. Finally, the strategy concept is illustrated by some examples concerned with machine tool accessories and components.

Shoop, Sally, Clifford Witte, Sebastian Karwaczynski, Clifton Ellis, Eoghan Matthews, Steven Bishel, Barry Bomier, et al. Improving winter traction for vehicles in northern operations. Engineer Research and Development Center (U.S.), December 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.21079/11681/42524.

Full text
Abstract:
As part of the campaign to increase readiness in northern regions, a near commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solution was identified for the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV); and used to assess the suitability of commercially available winter tires for operational deployment. Initial performance evaluations conducted during the winters of 2020 and 2021 demonstrated and quantified significant improvements to traction and handling on a variety of winter surfaces. User feedback from United States Army Alaska (USARAK) Soldiers confirmed these results in an operational environment. Results of this study provide new winter tire specifications for the Army and justify the procurement of a HMMWV winter tire for improved safety and capability for US Soldier and vehicle fleet needs. The data and Soldier evaluations support attaining a National Stock Number (NSN) and provide data to develop models of winter vehicle performance that include the impact of winter tires and chains. This work also paves the way for future development and procurement of winter tires for vehicles where COTS solutions are unavailable. The motivation is to provide Soldiers with state-of-the-art winter tires to increase safety, capability, and operational compatibility with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) partners in the European Theater of Operations, and mobility superiority in all environments.

Abstract:
In the article investigational three magazines which went out after Second World war in Germany and Austria in the environment of the Ukrainian emigrants, is «Theater» (edition of association of artists of the Ukrainian stage), «Student flag» (a magazine of the Ukrainian academic young people is in Austria), «Young friends» (a plastoviy magazine is for senior children and youth). The thematic structure of magazines, which is inferior the association of different on age, is considered, by vital experience and professional orientation of people in the conditions of the forced emigration, paid regard to graphic registration of magazines, which, without regard to absence of the proper publisher-polydiene bases, marked structuralness and expressiveness. A repertoire of periodicals of Ukrainian migration is in the American, English and French areas of occupation of Germany and Austria after Second world war, which consists of 200 names, strikes the tipologichnoy vseokhopnistyu and testifies to the high intellectual level of the moved persons, desire of yaknaynovishe, to realize the considerable potential in new terms with hope on transference of the purchased experience to Ukraine. On ruins of Europe for two-three years the network of the press, which could be proud of the European state is separately taken, is created. Different was a period of their appearance: from odnogo-dvokh there are to a few hundred numbers, that it is related to intensive migration of Ukrainians to the USA, Canada, countries of South America, Australia. But indisputable is a fact of forming of conceptions of newspapers and magazines, which it follows to study, doslidzhuvati and adjust them to present Ukrainian realities. Here not superfluous will be an example of a few editions on the thematic range of which the names – «Plastun» specify, «Skob», «Mali druzi», «Sonechko», «Yunackiy shliah», «Iyzhak», «Lys Mykyta» (satire, humour), «Literaturna gazeta», «Ukraina і svit», «Ridne slovo», «Hrystyianskyi shliah», «Golos derzhavnyka», «Ukrainskyi samostiynyk», «Gart», «Zmag» (sport), «Litopys politviaznia», «Ukrains’ka shkola», «Torgivlia i promysel», «Gospodars’ko-kooperatyvne zhyttia», «Ukrainskyi gospodar», «Ukrainskyi esperantist», «Radiotehnik», «Politviazen’», «Ukrainskyi selianyn» Considering three riznovektorni magazines «Teatr» (edition of Association Mistciv the Ukrainian Stage), «Studentskyi prapor» (a magazine of the Ukrainian academic young people is in Austria), «Yuni druzi» (a plastoviy magazine is for senior children and youth) assert that maintenance all three magazines directed on creation of different on age and by the professional orientation of national associations for achievement of the unique purpose – cherishing and maintainance of environments of ukrainstva, identity, in the conditions of strange land. Without regard to unfavorable publisher-polydiene possibilities, absence of financial support and proper encouragement, release, followed the intensive necessity of concentration of efforts for achievement of primary purpose – receipt and re-erecting of the Ukrainian State.
