Full textEnvironmental education is one of the main tools to overcome the current loss of biodiversity. Media and school occupy a central place to educate public, but they broadcast almost exclusively messages based on few spectacular and exotic animals (polar bear, whales…). Scholar education has a crucial role to promote knowledge, awareness, of schoolchildren and thus their willingness to protect a wide range of organisms, including less popular species. Using written questionnaires, we surveyed in ten different countries on Europe 7, Africa 1, and Asia 2, the perceptions of schoolchildren aged from 6 to 14 years for animals. The outcome is alarming: schoolchildren are disconnected from their local environment. Mirroring media, schoolchildren can list very few animal species requiring protection which they watched on TV screens. However, a survey of the perception of schoolchildren for snakes showed a moderate aversion level and a clear willingness to protect them, a surprising and encouraging result. We brought almost 600 children to discover native snakes through field experiences. Via the activation of the affective channel, almost all the children expressed their willingness to protect snakes, at the same level than panda and other loveable species. This study reveals the failure of the scholar educational system that focuses on dogmatic message, virtual information and intellectual approach to the detriment of field trips and physical contact with wildlife. A concrete approach of biodiversity is however essential and urgent to reconnect children with their local environment. Our results reinforce the (so far) fruitless message that schoolchildren should be bring into the field to generate positive attitude and behaviour toward the protection of the biodiversity. Environmental education should not neglect unpopular organisms declared. To progress, significant efforts must be produced to not limit conservation messages and actions to few iconic species

Full textFrance/tour/détour/deux/enfants is a TV show in 12 episodes produced by Jean-Luc Godard and Anne-Marie Miéville for the French television in 1979. The series was broadcast in April 1980, by the channel Antenne 2. This dissertation is aimed at contextualizing this period of Godards work in partnership with Miéville, and indicating internal procedures of this series which crystallized the experimental process initiated by Godard in his early works (especially with the Dziga Vertov Group, as well as in the previous TV series Six fois deux, sur et sous la communication, 1976), and which would lead to his later video production, particularly Histoire(s) du Cinéma (1989). This work is divided into two chapters: Tour and Détour. The first chapter historically situates the production years of the series and contextualizes the dialogue it establishes with video-artists from those years, who started to see television as a place that could be occupied by art. The second chapter takes the concept of detour as its starting point and proposes an analysis on how one can see this notion in the formal construction of the series. In this sense, I incorporated the very notion of detour in order to propose an analysis that would favor some of the works elements: the frame, the margin, the manifestation of the feminine, the use of slow motion, the gestures and the face. The conclusion indicates how France/tour/detour/deux/enfants was forsaken as an example of the television trend to override any attempt of experimental and critical creation conducted from within, whether condemning it to disappearance, or relegating it to a state of exception.
Bouyacoub, Asma. "L'enfant, originel et original, chez Violette Leduc et Marie NDiaye." Thesis, Toulouse 2, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019TOU20112.
Full textThis study addresses several themes relating to childhood, as viewed by Violette Leduc and Marie NDiaye. There are many similarities in how these two authors perceive childhood, even though their positions in the literary landscape are quite different. In both of their works, a child's parents are either completely absent or else ever-present, and family relationships are influenced by objects of value to society such as money and appearance. This naturally leads us to consider the relationship between children and society, and how each one views the other. As social values impinge on the family, familial roles become reversed and children lose both their identity and their bearings. Nevertheless, despite attempts by parents and society to impose rules on children that restrict their freedom, we argue that childhood is constantly in a state of renewal. This manifests itself in many different ways, including the varied creatures and objects which fill a child's environment. Childhood, and its depiction within literature, is both rich and complex. As the authors write in defence of childhood, they alternate between fiction and autobiography. In doing so, they provide a perspective on childhood which is at the same time original and which takes its origins in their own respective childhoods

Full textSince the last quarter of the XIXe century, the story of childhood knows a significant development. Nowadays, the irruption of new stakes, sometimes of radical changes, tends to modify the story of childhood's appearance. Authors comprehend the child less as a purpose than a means. A function of intellectual vector competes with his nature of subject, without nevertheless destroying it. This work analyzes the contemporary story of childhood written in French language through a principal corpus of four texts : L'Amant (M. Duras), La Maison rose (P. Bergounioux), Onitsha (J-M. G. Le Clézio) and La Honte (A. Ernaux). It crosses, thanks to a diachronic and synchronic contextualization, various critical tools (narratology, psychoanalysis, sociolgy, etc. ) and it is based on five chapters : the contemporary reorganization of the genre's archetypes, their absence, their permanence, their rewritings, more or less subversive, reinforces the demand of demystification that has seized the story of childhood ; thus breaking with a certain idea of the childhood's myth, the imaginative territories work out, on the ruins of this myth, attempts to recreate childhood ; L'Ere du soupçon observed by N. Sarraure generates an aesthetics of the fracture that dislocate the formal architecture of the genre ; the relationships between child and adult consciences permit to describe the identity where, in addition, the conflicts of the subject are overexposed ; lastly, the influence of human sciences engenders an intense critical discourse in childhood's stories

Full textSince the seventies, Georges Lemoine's work has become noteworthy because of the modern way in which he illustrates great literary texts (Le Clézio, Bosco, Tournier, Yourcenar, Roy, Wilde, Andersen, etc. ). The aim of this thesis is to show how these illustrations develop together with the texts and to show what graphic requirements are needed in the creation of the pictures. This thesis will therefore place the illustrator within the French publishing world, and then analyse the specific requirements for book illustration. It will also look at the various steps needed in the genesis of a picture, question Georges Lemoine's interpretation, and focus on the semantic levels on which the pictures have an influence. Finally, this thesis will point out the illustrator's thematic preferences and the peculiarities of his style, which are developed around the symbolic and allegorical levels of his chosen texts. This research is based on Georges Lemoine's whole repertoire of illustrations and on a large amount of private archives. Several questions arise: what does illustrating a literary text involve? Can the illustration become some form of literature in itself? What are the relationships between text and images?
