Abstract:
Automatic emotion detection is a prime task in computerized human behaviour analysis. The proposed system is an automatic emotion detection using convolution neural network. The proposed end-to-end CNN is therefore named as ENet. Keeping in mind the computational efficiency, the deep network makes use of trained weight parameters of the MobileNet to initialize the weight parameters of ENet. On top of the last convolution layer of ENet, the authors place global average pooling layer to make it independent of the input image size. The ENet is validated for emotion detection using two benchmark datasets: Cohn-Kanade+ (CK+) and Japanese female facial expression (JAFFE). The experimental results show that the proposed ENet outperforms the other existing methods for emotion detection.

Abstract:
Elastic net (Enet) and sparse partial least squares (SPLS) are frequently employed for wavelength selection and model calibration in analysis of near infrared spectroscopy data. Enet and SPLS can perform variable selection and model calibration simultaneously. And they also tend to select wavelength intervals rather than individual wavelengths when the predictors are multicollinear. In this paper, we focus on comparison of Enet and SPLS in interval wavelength selection and model calibration for near infrared spectroscopy data. The results from both simulation and real spectroscopy data show that Enet method tends to select less predictors as key variables than SPLS; thus it gets more parsimony model and brings advantages for model interpretation. SPLS can obtain much lower mean square of prediction error (MSE) than Enet. So SPLS is more suitable when the attention is to get better model fitting accuracy. The above conclusion is still held when coming to performing the strongly correlated NIR spectroscopy data whose predictors present group structures, Enet exhibits more sparse property than SPLS, and the selected predictors (wavelengths) are segmentally successive.

Abstract:
Magnetic Resonance Imaging-based prostate segmentation is an essential task for adaptive radiotherapy and for radiomics studies whose purpose is to identify associations between imaging features and patient outcomes. Because manual delineation is a time-consuming task, we present three deep-learning (DL) approaches, namely UNet, efficient neural network (ENet), and efficient residual factorized convNet (ERFNet), whose aim is to tackle the fully-automated, real-time, and 3D delineation process of the prostate gland on T2-weighted MRI. While UNet is used in many biomedical image delineation applications, ENet and ERFNet are mainly applied in self-driving cars to compensate for limited hardware availability while still achieving accurate segmentation. We apply these models to a limited set of 85 manual prostate segmentations using the k-fold validation strategy and the Tversky loss function and we compare their results. We find that ENet and UNet are more accurate than ERFNet, with ENet much faster than UNet. Specifically, ENet obtains a dice similarity coefficient of 90.89% and a segmentation time of about 6 s using central processing unit (CPU) hardware to simulate real clinical conditions where graphics processing unit (GPU) is not always available. In conclusion, ENet could be efficiently applied for prostate delineation even in small image training datasets with potential benefit for patient management personalization.

Objective:Moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) improves aerobic fitness in children, which is usually assessed by maximal oxygen consumption. However, other indices of aerobic fitness have been understudied.Methods:To compare net oxygen (VO2net), net energy consumption (Enet), net mechanical efficiency (MEnet), and lipid oxidation rate in active and inactive children across body weight statuses.Design:The sample included normal-weight, overweight, and obese children of whom 44 are active (≥30 min of MVPA/d) and 41 are inactive (<30 min of MVPA/d). VO2net, Enet, MEnet and lipid oxidation rate were determined during an incremental maximal cycling test.Results:Active obese participants had significantly lower values of VO2net and Enet and higher MEnet than inactive obese participants at all load stages. In addition, active obese participants showed a significantly higher lipid oxidation rate compared with inactive obese and active overweight and normal-weight participants. VO2net, Enet, and MEnet were similar across active children, regardless of body weight status.Conclusion:Thirty minutes or more of MVPA per day is associated with a potentiation of aerobic fitness indicators in obese prepubertal children. Moreover, the indices of aerobic fitness of inactive obese children are significantly different from those of active obese and nonobese ones.

A Eletroestimulação é uma técnica utilizada por profissionais da área da saúde em tratamentos para diversas doenças e treinamentos esportivos. Pode ser aplicada em academias de ginástica, clínicas de fisioterapia e ambientes esportivos como clubes de futebol, corridas, entre outros. Existem diversas nomenclaturas no mercado relacionando a eletroestimulação, mas todas elas são tecnicamente conhecidas como estimulação neuromuscular elétrica transcutânea (ENET). A ENET de corpo inteiro é uma técnica relativamente nova, e entrou no mercado para potencializar o tratamento e treinamento que já eram utilizados por estimuladores elétricos locais, como a corrente russa, galvânica e outras. Os resultados dos estudos relacionados ao tema divergem bastante, portanto, percebe-se a necessidade de mais pesquisas relacionadas ao tema. Assim, o objetivo da presente revisão é, identificar e discutir os efeitos benéficos da ENET no tratamento de doenças cardiovasculares e neuromusculares, inclusive no auxílio do treinamento físico convencional e os potenciais riscos para saúde humana.

Abstract:
Background: In the field of biomedical imaging, radiomics is a promising approach that aims to provide quantitative features from images. It is highly dependent on accurate identification and delineation of the volume of interest to avoid mistakes in the implementation of the texture-based prediction model. In this context, we present a customized deep learning approach aimed at addressing the real-time, and fully automated identification and segmentation of COVID-19 infected regions in computed tomography images. Methods: In a previous study, we adopted ENET, originally used for image segmentation tasks in self-driving cars, for whole parenchyma segmentation in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis which has several similarities to COVID-19 disease. To automatically identify and segment COVID-19 infected areas, a customized ENET, namely C-ENET, was implemented and its performance compared to the original ENET and some state-of-the-art deep learning architectures. Results: The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach. Considering the performance obtained in terms of similarity of the result of the segmentation to the gold standard (dice similarity coefficient ~75%), our proposed methodology can be used for the identification and delineation of COVID-19 infected areas without any supervision of a radiologist, in order to obtain a volume of interest independent from the user. Conclusions: We demonstrated that the proposed customized deep learning model can be applied to rapidly identify, and segment COVID-19 infected regions to subsequently extract useful information for assessing disease severity through radiomics analyses.

Due to massive expansion of the mass spectrometry and constant price growth of the human labour the optimalisation of the microbial samples preparation comes into question. This master thesis deals with design and implementation of a machine learning algorithm for segmentation of images of microbial colonies cultivated on Petri dishes. This algorithm is going to be a part of a controlling software of a MBT Pathfinder device developed by the company Bruker s. r. o. that automates the process of smearing microbial colonies onto a MALDI target plates. In terms of this thesis a several models of neural networks based on the UNet, UNet++ and ENet architecture were implemented. Based on a number of experiments investigating various configurations of the networks and pre-processing of the training datatset there was chosen an ENet model with quadruplet filter count and additional convolutional block of the encoder trained on a dataset pre-processed with round mask.

Enhet och helhet Av : Marcelo Rovira Torres Var börjar man när ett badhus blir till? Var började badhuset? Kanske var det vid havet, när höstkylan gjorde att vattnet blev för kallt och människor sökte sig till en plats där de kunde simma oberoende av klimatet. Tre badhus som uppfördes under folkhemsbygget under 1900-talets första hälft analyserades i tre svenska städer, Göteborg, Malmö och Luleå. Där framgick det tydligt att fokus låg på motionen och simbanan är byggnadens självklara mittpunkt. Bastun och tvagningen får sett till utformningen en sekundär roll, men funktionen är likväl viktig. Mitt projekt har handlat om att destillera mötet mellan badhusets två huvudsakliga funktioner, motion och tvagning, att skala bort allt överflöd och hitta en arkitektur som kommer så nära byggnadens kärna som möjligt.
Unit and Unity  By: Marcelo Rovira Torres Where does one begin when a bathhouse is in the works? Where did bathhouses originate? Perhaps it was by the sea, when the autumn chill made the water unbearable and people searched for a place where they could swim no matter the climate. Three bathing houses in three Swedish cities, Gothenburg, Malmö and Luleå built during ‘Folkhemsbygget’ in the first half of the 20th century were analysed. There, it was clear that the main focus lay on exercise and the swimming pool for aquatic sports was the buildings undeniable centerpiece. The sauna and ablution seem to have a secondary role, but the function is just as important. This project is about distilling the meeting between the bathhouse’s two main functions, exercise and ablution, to peel away all the excess and find architecture that comes as close to the buildings core as possible.

Det som sker idag då dessa platser ska övervakas är att en fast mast ställs dit med hjälp av en lastbil med kran eller att kamerorna sätts upp på befintliga byggnader. I dagsläget finns ingen tillräckligt mobil helhetslösning för den här typen av övervakning i Sverige.

Inom Försvarsmakten används motordrivna generatorer för att förse många förbandsenheter med elektricitet. Dagens bullriga och vibrerande elverk är idag möjliga att ersätta med tystare bränsleceller. På köpet erhålls en bättre ergonomi för alla som arbetar i hytter som strömförsörjs av elverk. I rapporten redovisas funktionen för olika typer av bränsleceller, vilka bränslen de använder sig av och hur dessa kan transporteras. Dessutom redovisas hur två elverk används och vilka förbättringar som kan åstadkommas vid byte till bränsleceller. Slutligen analyseras den militära nyttan med ett byte.
In the Armed Forces many units are provided with electricity from generators. It is now possible to replace noisy and vibrating generators used today with more quiet fuel cells. As a bonus, we obtain better ergonomics for those working in units powered by generators. This report describes the function of different types of fuel cells, what fuels they use and how they can be transported. Furthermore it shows how two generators are used and what improvements can be achieved when switching to fuel cells. Finally the military benefit of retrofitting is analyzed.

El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar los resultados de la valorización que se ha realizado a la empresa Enel Distribución Perú S. A. A. al 31 de diciembre del 2016. Para ello se han analizado los datos históricos de la empresa, se han realizado estimaciones de sus ingresos, gastos e inversiones por un período de seis años y se han planteado supuestos que han sido utilizados en las metodologías aplicadas para los resultados obtenidos Cabe resaltar que Enel Distribución Perú S. A. A. (antes Empresa de Distribución Eléctrica de Lima Norte S. A. - Edelnor S. A.) nace en 1994 en el marco del proceso de promoción de la inversión privada del Estado, época donde se dieron las principales transformaciones en el sector eléctrico logrando mayor crecimiento y eficiencia. Considerando la información histórica de Enel del 2011 al 2016 se realizaron valorizaciones a través de los métodos de flujo de caja descontado y el método de múltiplos de empresas comparables (EV/Ebitda y P/E). El valor por acción bajo la metodología del flujo de caja descontado es de S/ 6,94, mediante múltiplos de empresas comparables se obtuvo S/ 6,32 a través del EV/Ebitda 2016 y de S/ 6,45 a través del P/E 2016. El precio de la acción de Enel al 31 de diciembre del 2016 en la Bolsa de Valores de Lima es de S/ 6,16, ligeramente más bajo que el valor calculado por las diferentes metodologías. El sector en el que se encuentra la empresa y el grado de madurez alcanzado dan una estabilidad financiera avalando que el modelo de negocio puede generar mayor valor a los accionistas en el futuro. La recomendación para inversionistas en la acción de Enel Distribución Perú S. A. A. es comprar o mantener, puesto que el precio debería subir en el futuro.

Abstract:
Enel Distribución Perú, es una empresa cuya actividad es la distribución de energía eléctrica, forma parte del grupo Enel, líder en los mercados de electricidad de Europa y Latinoamérica. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo principal determinar el valor de la acción de Enel Distribución Perú al (ENDISPC1) al cierre del 2016, mediante el análisis de sus estados financieros históricos anuales, así como de sus memorias anuales, con el fin de dar una recomendación de comprar, vender o mantener, a un eventual inversionista. Los principales supuestos de la valorización se validaron o modificaron con una entrevista al CFO de la empresa. Se realizaron dos métodos de valorización: flujo de caja descontado y valorización por múltiplos comparables. Para el primer método se proyectaron diez años de flujos de caja libre (2017-2026) y se descontaron al WACC de 7,99%. Se asumió una tasa de crecimiento de la perpetuidad (g) de 2,30%. Para el segundo método se usaron los múltiplos PER, EV/Sales y EV/EBITDA de empresas similares a Enel Distribución Perú en la región, para hallar el valor de la empresa al que debería cotizar la acción. El método de flujo de caja descontado da como resultado un valor de la acción de Enel de 6,73 soles, es decir, 9,19% por encima del precio de cierre del 2016; el método de valorización por múltiplos comparables arroja un valor de la acción de 6,37 soles, situándose un 3,41% por encima del cierre del 2016, por lo que nuestra recomendación final es MANTENER.

El objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación es realizar la valorización de Enel Distribución S.A.A al cierre del ejercicio 2018, con la finalidad que sirva de material de consulta para posibles inversionistas. La empresa es concesionaria del servicio público de electricidad para la zona norte de Lima Metropolitana, la provincia constitucional del Callao y las provincias de Huaura, Huaral, Barranca y Oyón. Forma parte del Grupo Enel, de Italia, a través de la subsidiaria Enel Perú S.A.C., la cual posee el 83.15% de su capital social. Se ha seleccionado esta empresa por encontrarse en una etapa de crecimiento - madurez, estando dentro de las principales distribuidoras de energía eléctrica de la capital peruana. La empresa coloca al cliente como eje principal de sus prácticas de innovación y desarrollo, lo cual se ve traducido en la calidad de su servicio: sus indicadores de frecuencia y tiempo de interrupción promedio por cliente son los segundos mejores del país. Además, se encuentra comprometida con la seguridad (alumbrado público) y electrificación masiva. Para la valorización, se han utilizado los estados financieros auditados en soles de la empresa desde el 2014 al 2018, informes de valoración de empresas consultoras, entre otros.

AbstractThis chapter highlights two advances towards a higher maturity of versatile extended non-destructive testing (ENDT) procedures. Full-scale demonstration tests are presented in realistic user application cases that involve typical production or repair scenarios. Subsequently, the investigations used to assess the probability of detection (POD) are detailed for the respective ENDT processes and application-relevant scenarios in a realistic environment. Although some results indicated that some additional in-depth investigations would be even more enlightening, these demonstrations still clearly showed that developments and progress described in the previous chapters have enabled some of the technologies to achieve a maturity that is sufficient to proceed towards industrial implementation. Some ENDT techniques revealed the presence of contaminants on real structural parts with unknown contaminant amounts. For the first time, POD results obtained for ENDT investigations are presented. Some ENDT procedures permitted POD results to be obtained for several scenarios, while others showed technologically relevant POD only for certain scenarios. For two ENDT techniques, determining the POD helped to enhance the respective testing and evaluation procedures. In most of the cases, it was possible to estimate a preliminary quantification of POD by giving the POD90/95. For some techniques, this value was below the lowest contamination degree.

Pulmonary insufficiency (PI) induces pulmonary regurgitation and often leads to right ventricular (RV) enlargement and RV pressure overloading in repaired Tetralogy of Fallot (rTOF) patients. The appropriate timing of surgical treatments to renormalize RV function remains uncertain due to lack of suitable clinical diagnostic parameters. An energy transfer ratio (eMPA) between the net energy (Enet) transferred at main pulmonary artery (MPA) from RV and stroke work (SW) by RV was calculated using RV volume and pressure data for subjects in two study groups: the rTOF patient group (n = 7) and the control group (n = 7). Statistical analysis was performed to determine the difference of eMPA between the two groups. The mean eMPA for rTOF patients (0.64) was significantly lower (60.2%, p<0.05) than that of controls (1.61).

Abstract:
Semantic Segmentation (SS) partitions an image into several coherent semantically meaningful parts, and classifies each part into one of the pre-determined classes. In this paper, we argue that existing SS methods cannot be reliably applied to autonomous driving system as they ignore the different importance levels of distinct classes for safe-driving. For example, pedestrians in the scene are much more important than sky when driving a car, so their segmentations should be as accurate as possible. To incorporate the importance information possessed by various object classes, this paper designs an "Importance-Aware Loss" (IAL) that specifically emphasizes the critical objects for autonomous driving. IAL operates under a hierarchical structure, and the classes with different importance are located in different levels so that they are assigned distinct weights. Furthermore, we derive the forward and backward propagation rules for IAL and apply them to deep neural networks for realizing SS in intelligent driving system. The experiments on CamVid and Cityscapes datasets reveal that by employing the proposed loss function, the existing deep learning models including FCN, SegNet and ENet are able to consistently obtain the improved segmentation results on the pre-defined important classes for safe-driving.

Among possible options to capture carbon dioxide, pressurised oxy-fuel combustion is a promising one. Accordingly, Enel teamed with Itea and Enea to develop a pressurised oxy-combustion technology. Currently, extensive tests have been carried out at 4 bar on a 5 MWt facility based in Gioia del Colle (Southern Italy). By starting from the know-how gained on that scale, Enel planned to build by 2010 an experimental 48 MWt demo-plant, based on the same pressurised combustion process introduced above. This will be the necessary intermediate step for the further scale-up towards a zero emission plant of industrial scale. This paper is the prosecution of a previous publication presenting the process design and energy analysis of a power cycle integrating the developed pressurised oxy-coal combustion technology with a Rankine cycle including carbon capture. After having briefly presented the pressurised oxycombustion project carried out at Enel, the paper focuses on technology issues related to the proposed cycle and the related process integration, with respect to main components.

Für externe Unternehmen, Institutionen und ganz besonders für Endverbraucher bleiben diese Programme in der Regel allerdings intransparent. Verbraucher können die proaktive Fürsorge der Unternehmen nicht durch ihr Konsumverhalten honorieren, betrieblichen Partnern ist es nur vereinzelt möglich, kooperative Programme zu etablieren und hier Synergien zu nutzen und staatlichen Institutionen fällt es schwer, Regulierungen sinnvoll anzupassen. Vor diesem Hintergrund wurden viele in Deutschland gängige Label daraufhin überprüft, welche Einschätzung sie über die Gesundheitsförderung und das Gesundheitsmanagement des zertifizierten Unternehmens erlauben. Die Arbeit endet mit einer Evaluation der vielversprechendsten Label und einer politischen Empfehlung.

Das Projekt iENG (Intelligente Energienutzung in der Gebäudewirtschaft) thematisiert die umwelt- und gesellschaftsverträgliche Umsetzung der Energiewende im Gebäudebereich. Es geht der Frage nach, warum insbesondere im Bestand das Umsetzungstempo weit hinter den Erwartungen zurückbleibt und vertieft dabei die Fragestellungen der Informations-vermittlung (Energieberater), der rechtlichen und ökonomischen Rahmenbedingungen (EnEV und Förder-Verfahren) sowie die bislang weitgehend ignorierten Chancen von architektonischer Gestaltung und gebäudekybernetischen Ansätzen. In diesem Beitrag wird versucht, die Sicht der Gebäudenutzer, also insbesondere der Mieter und selbstnutzenden Eigentümer von Wohnungen zu ergründen. Dazu ist es sinnvoll, an der öffentlichen Diskussion der Thematik Gebäudeenergiewende anzuknüpfen, die meistens bei der aktuellen technischen Standardlösung zum Einsparen von Energie im Gebäudebereich anknüpft: den Wärmedämmverbundsystemen. Sie sind sowohl durch große Werbemaßnahmen (Ulrich Wickert: Dämmen lohnt sich) als auch durch die Kriterien für die Vergabe vergünstigter Modernisierungskredite oder Zuschüsse nahezu vorgegeben, um im Wohnungsbestand und bei Neubauten über eine Reduzierung der erforderlichen Heizleistung zu einer Energieeinsparung und zur CO2-Reduzierung beizutragen. Im folgenden Bericht werden ausgehend von der methodischen Anlage des Teilprojektes die Ergebnisse der empirischen Arbeiten dargestellt. Im Verlauf des Projektes haben sich insbesondere bei der Rekrutierung von Teilnehmern für die Fokusgruppen Probleme ergeben, die dargestellt und diskutiert werden sollen (Kap. 2). Aufgrund der Zugangsprobleme zum Feld ist die empirische Basis der nachfolgenden Überlegungen nicht sehr robust und nur begrenzt belastbar (Kap. 3). Abschließend werden die wesentlichen Ergebnisse des Teil-projektes im Kapitel 4 zusammengefasst und ein Ausblick gegeben.

Das weltweit vorherrschende Entwicklungsmodell in Form eines kontinuierlichen Wirtschaftswachstums steht in der Kritik – dies nicht allein, aber vor allem auch wegen seiner ökologisch negativen Auswirkungen.1 Die Kritik am Wachstumsparadigma ist jedoch keineswegs neu, vielmehr gibt es sie fast schon so lange wie das Wirtschaftswachstum selbst.2 Mit Blick auf die zurück-liegenden 50 Jahre führte vor allem der erste Bericht an den Club of Rome (Meadows et al. 1972) zu einer breiteren gesellschaftlichen Diskussion um die „Grenzen des Wachstums“ auf einem Planeten mit endlichen natürlichen Res-sourcen. Die wachstumskritischen Beiträge der jüngeren Vergangenheit knüpfen daran an, erweitern die frühe Diskussion unter Schlagworten wie „Post-wachstum“, „Green Growth“ oder „De-Growth“ jedoch zugleich um neue Perspektiven der Kritik, aber auch denkbare Lösungen des Konflikts zwischen Wachstum und Umweltschutz.3 Zwar sind Zielkonflikte und damit einhergehende Opportunitätskosten als solches aus ökonomischer Sicht keine Besonderheit. Die Brisanz des Konflikts zwischen Wirtschaftswachstum und Um-weltverbrauch kann jedoch in der mittlerweile erreichten Eingriffsintensität ökonomischen Handelns in die natürlichen Regelkreisläufe gesehen werden, die den Fortbestand der menschlichen Zivilisation selbst gefährden könnte. Vor dem Hintergrund dieses in den zurückliegenden Ausführungen sich aus-drückenden Konflikts zwischen Wirtschaftswachstum und Umwelt(-schutz) geht der vorliegende Beitrag zunächst der Frage nach, wie sich dieser Zielkonflikt aus ökonomischer Sicht sowohl inhaltlich als auch institutionell näher bestimmen lässt (Kapitel 2). Dies schließt auch eine Betrachtung mit ein, wie sich das Verhältnis von Wachstum und Umwelt im Verlauf des wirtschaftlichen Entwicklungsprozesses und damit in der zeitlichen Dimension gestaltet, wie dies den Überlegungen zur „Umwelt-Kuznets-Hypothese“ zugrunde liegt. Daran anschließend werden verschiedene Ansätze vorgestellt, die unterschiedliche Reformmaßnahmen zur „Entschärfung“ der Beziehung zwischen Wirtschaftswachstum und Umweltverbrauch zum Gegenstand haben (Kapitel 3). Diese lassen sich grob danach differenzieren, ob (1) der Zielkonflikt als nur einseitig zulasten des Wachstumsziels lösbar eingestuft wird (De-Growth- bzw. Postwachstums-Ansätze), (2) ein schonender Umgang mit natürlichen Ressourcen als nur durch eine grundlegende ethische Neuausrichtung der Marktwirtschaft realisierbar gilt (Ansatz der Gemeinwohlökonomie) oder (3) von der Möglichkeit einer weitgehenden Entkoppelung von Wirtschaftswachstum und Umweltverbrauch (Ansätze des „Green Growth“) ausgegangen wird. Der Beitrag endet mit der Ableitung ordnungspolitischer Schlussfolgerungen, die als wichtige Bausteine einer Lösung des Zielkonflikts zwischen Wachstum und Umwelt zu verstehen sind (Kapitel 4).
