Abstract:
ScienceDirect® is a registered trademark of Elsevier B.V.―an academic publishing company headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands with offices worldwide. ScienceDirect contains more than 18 million articles and chapters and >2,650 peer-reviewed journals. Multiple peer-reviewed journals from the subject categories “Oral Surgery,” “Surgery,” and “Otorhinolaryngology” are always in the field of view of the Ukrainian oral and maxillofacial surgeons. Many of those journals are published by Elsevier B.V., and for the wartime period this international publishing company gave to surgeons in Ukraine a full access to all its journals. Such opportunity is limitless useful due to the possibility to absorb international data and surgical techniques without subscriptions or payments. Russian terroristic invasion to Ukraine increased a need for Ukrainian oral and maxillofacial surgeons, trauma and plastic surgeons to manage significant number of severe ballistic and explosive trauma cases. Implementation of modern surgical principles into wartime practice is crucial for life-saving surgeries. Thus, the scientific support of Elsevier company will definitely contribute to lives` preservation and health of the Europeans.

Abstract:
Visibility of articles is a key task for any peer-reviewed journal. It makes articles to be cited more likely thus helping journals to grow and to hold higher positions in international ranking systems. Like Elsevier company running the Scopus database, the Scilit database has been launched and is managing by another academic publishing company—MDPI (Basel, Switzerland). A Scilit name is a contraction of two words—scientific and literature. As a publishing house team, we are proud to receive inclusion of the Journal of Endodontic Microsurgery to its first database. Like other respected international open access English-language journals, among top priors of our Journal are listing in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. For that purposes we will assist the editorial board of the Journal, helping to publish high quality articles in the field of endodontic microsurgery.

Abstract:
The assessment of research performance using international abstract and citation databases, or so-called global citation indexes, is currently the key criterion against which the advance of science is measured practically in all countries. In 2004 the publishing company Elsevier launched a new database – Scopus, which became a major competitor with the reputable resource Web of Science operating since 1964. Developing very successfully, Scopus has become the leading and largest abstract and citation database in the world. The indicators and data provided by Scopus are used in international university rankings and, in general, in the performance assessment of researchers, scientific schools, organizations and countries all over the world. The sources of such information are publications coming from over 150 countries, both from leading international journals and publishing houses, as well as from regional titles indexed in international databases. This paper sets out to characterize the Scopus database as a whole, along with its categories and inclusion criteria. Bulgarian Scopus publications and titles are analyzed, with the information about 48 Bulgarian journals reviewed for inclusion and included in Scopus given. The number of Bulgarian journals included in Scopus is expected to rise, provided that international publication standards and Scopus requirements are met.

Abstract:
This study involves the analysis of the scientific outputs on informal entrepreneurship (IE hereafter) over the period from 1990 to 2016. We deploy a combination of bibliometric techniques such as citations, bibliographic coupling as well as approaching the social networks established. We sourced the contents thus analyzed from the online Thomson/Reuters-ISI database and the online Scopus database run by the Elsevier Publishing Company, which returned a total of 44 and 95 publications for analysis, respectively. From among the 139 articles analyzed, the journals Entrepreneurship and Regional Development and Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship stand out as the publishers of the largest number of articles. We encounter studies on IE in developing countries as a low-income activity that contributes to the economic development of the region. The motivations and the determinants of informality are common to the majority of the scientific outputs and effectively serving as the analytical basis either for arguing in favor of the formalization of the business. Another aspect present in the literature interrelates IE with the quality of governance and economic liberalization. This analysis facet ensures IE gains in scientific profile within the ongoing context of discussions over neoliberalism and its effects on the world economy.

Abstract:
This book tells the story of how a cadre of dedicated, iconoclastic scientists raised the awareness of a long-recognized preference for publishing positive, eye-catching, but irreproducible results to the status of a genuine scientific crisis. Most famously encapsulated in 2005 by John Ioannidis’s iconic title, “Why Most Published Research Findings Are False,” awareness of the seriousness of the crisis itself was in full bloom sometime around 2011–2012, when a veritable flood of supporting empirical and methodological work began appearing in the scientific literature detailing both the extent of the crisis and how it could be ameliorated. Perhaps most importantly were a number of mass replications of large sets of published psychology experiments (100 in all) by the Open Science Collaboration, preclinical cancer experiments (53) that a large pharmaceutical company considered sufficiently promising to pursue if the original results were reproducible, and 67 similarly promising studies upon which an even larger pharmaceutical company decided to replicate prior to initiating the expense and time-consuming developmental process. Shockingly, less than 50% of these 220 study results could be replicated, thereby providing unwelcomed evidence that John Ioannidis’s projections (and others performed both earlier and later) that more than half of published scientific results were false and could not be reproduced by other scientists. Fortunately, a plethora of practical, procedural behaviors accompanied these demonstrations and projects that were quite capable of greatly reducing the prevalence of future irreproducible results. Therefore the primary purpose of this book is use these impressive labors of hundreds of methodologically oriented scientists to provide guidance to practicing and aspiring scientists regarding how (a) to change the way in which science has historically been both conducted and reported in order to avoid producing false-positive, irreproducible results in their own work and, (b) ultimately, to change those institutional practices (primarily but not exclusively involving the traditional journal publishing process and the academic reward system) that have unwittingly contributed to the present crisis. For what is actually needed is nothing less than a change in the scientific culture itself to one that will prioritize conducting research correctly in order to get things right rather than simply to get published. Hopefully this book can make a small contribution to that end.

Abstract:
The book “Applied social sciences: concepts and perspectives vol.01, edited and published by South Florida Publishing, gathers ten chapters that approach themes of relevance in the context of education and are available in Spanish. The book will feature, a study on establishing the development of literary transcendentalism and how it manifests itself between the islands of Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico from the years 1927 to the mid-1950s. Literary transcendentalism was a manifestation that contemplated various ideologies and positions among our Caribbean islands. Another study that will be discussed is the explanation of basic personality traits in a case of homicide perpetrated by a subject who exercised professional activity in the elite military field (he was a sniper specialized in special missions abroad), what are the repercussions or consequences juridical-juridical that led to the crime of (civil) homicide perpetrated by him and sentence handed down to that effect. The third chapter presents a search for a model for the assessment of competencies in basic education through a case study at the Los Pinos de Algeciras school. We are in the middle of the infant school. A survey will also be presented in a global company, located in Brazil, on how it is facing knowledge management and its dissemination, through corporate tools and by managers. It also aims to research market tools that can improve this management and make companies move towards a future within the plan, without significant loss of their intellectual capital and embedded knowledge, among other works. Thus, we thank all authors for their commitment and dedication to their work and we hope to be able to contribute to the scientific community, in the dissemination of knowledge and in the advancement of science.

Abstract:
Abstract The overwhelming impression from the scientific literature is that researchers are an orderly lot who spend their time working in groups and turning out innumerable publications. john Cairns is not like that at all. He is a brilliant and original experimentalist whose career has been shaped as much by accident as design. Working mainly alone, and publishing relatively little, he has tacked across continents and disciplines, challenging orthodoxy as he goes. Some of his most recent experiments, which he undertook in the context of cancer research, have upset the evolutionary establishment.

Abstract:
Tourism is an economic activity capable of promoting the development of regions, creating wealth and contributing to the preservation of heritage. Thus, the tourism sector in general, and in particular, the new typologies of tourism that take advantage of cultural resources, such as religious tourism, have in recent years become the focus of attention by economic, political and scientific agents. Religious tourism started the moment man began to move due to a question of belief, that is to say, with a religious manifestation, the pilgrimage, being a pilgrim a tourist with religious motivation. Currently, according to UNWTO estimates, between 300 and 330 million tourists visit the main religious sites every year. Taking into account the increasing interest in the subject of religious tourism and pilgrimage, a review of the academic literature on this type of tourism is carried out in this chapter by means of a descriptive bibliometric study of articles, books and of book chapters included in the multidisciplinary Scopus (Elsevier) database until the year 2016. Thus, through an advanced search for terms, we selected a representative set of 199 documents that form the ad-hoc base of the analysis. In view of the results, it is concluded that despite an uncertain start at the beginning of the 80s, from the year 2006 the interest for this discipline experiences a rapid growth with more than 80% of the work published during the 2006-2016 period. When publishing, the authors opt for specialized journals in the tourism sector in the areas of Social Sciences and Business, Management and Accounting or Arts and Humanities.

Abstract:
The Web of Science Core Collection is a highly selective, abstract-indexed scientometric database, which currently includes more than 21 thousand scientific journals of all specialties published in 110 countries. The database contains three specialized indexes: Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE), Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), Art and Humanities Citation Index (AHCI) and a multidisciplinary Emerging Source Citation Index (ESCI). Today there are 15 Ukrainian journals included in the SCIE and 68 in the ESCI. Unfortunately, since 2015, no Ukrainian journals have moved from ESCI to specialized indexes; moreover, several Ukrainian journals were excluded for publishing ethics violations. In 2019, the criteria of journal evaluation were updated/clarified. Today there are 28 criteria; 24 of them (quality criteria) are a prerequisite for inclusion into the ESCI. Journals applying to specialized indexes are evaluated according to four additional criteria of influence. The evaluation is carried out by the Clarivate Editorial Board consisting of company employees, who, in addition to professional skills, do not have any conflicts of interest. To initiate the journal evaluation process, the publisher fills out an online form and continues to publish the journal in a timely manner. Evaluation and subsequent indexing of the journal in the Web of Science Core Collection is a free procedure and the criteria are presented in the article.

Abstract:
In recent years’ childlessness as a workplace inclusion issue has developed from a taboo topic into an important awareness subject, especially being childless not by choice. This issue has become challenging for employers and leaders not only in business organisations but also in educational institutions. That includes such aspects as to be prepared with how to support employees within different struggle of life and to be aware of discussion and conversation topics. The article presents the systematic literature review on subject of emotional intelligence as an attribute of effective leadership which can be increased into higher education institutions. The aim of the study is to explore main findings of emotional intelligence in the context of effective leadership for supporting childless employees in higher education institutions. Since the context of childlessness and emotional intelligence has not been previously studied, author of this article decided to use the systematic review method including publications which were published in respectable databases(EbscoHost, Scopus, Science Direct, Emerald Publishing, Elsevier, Sage Journals)during the past ten years. The authors' review has helped to identify some of the main findings about models and dimensions of emotional intelligence, importance of emotional intelligence as an attribute of effective leadership in organisations and higher education institutions. Conclusions include future recommendations for higher education institutions and development of leaders and employees about emotional intelligence aspects and future research perspectives about terminology of childlessness and childlessness aspects at workplace. Most important conclusions highlight the necessity to improve work-life programs and policies of organisations including childlessness aspects as a workplace inclusion issue; the importance to study relationship between emotional intelligence of higher education institutions leaders and childlessness aspects in higher education institutions. The significance of the results is due to the fact that this is a completely new topic in management science in Latvia and future research should be carried out.

Abstract:
AUTHORS: Prof. PhD Sabina MACOVEI1, Assist. Lecturer PhD Student Leonard ACASANDREI1, PhD Student Mariana MEZEI1 National University of Physical Education and Sports, Bucharest Introduction Computerized baropodometry represents a technique specialized in the analysis of the distribution and measurement of plantar pressure exerted by different somatic structures, through an electronic recording platform. Determinant for the foot mechanics study, it provides objective data related to the body center of gravity distribution and, implicitly, to the possible dysfunctions at the spinal column level. Purpose Relying on some case studies, the present paper aims at using the electronic baropodometry, as an efficient modality to objectify the vertebral column dysfunctions in performance girl gymnasts, by considering their high incidence in this sports branch, with negative effects on the quality of life. Content In our study, we used the FootscanSystem device (developed by the Belgian Company "RSscan International") based on the Footscan Software 7.97 Gait 2nd Generation, to determine the plantar pressure distributions in the bipodal static situation and during the gate support phase. We conducted our research at "Dr. Nicolae Robănescu" National Medical Center for Children's Rehabilitation in Bucharest and our subjects were the girl gymnasts from the Sports Club of UNEFS Bucharest. Conclusions Electronic baropodometry represents a unique and accurate evaluation tool that can be used to identify the forefoot or the rear-foot plantar pressure distribution, the maximum pressure points, the forefoot deviation tendency in supination or pronation, the way in which the center of gravity is distributed on each foot, as well as the association of some pathologies such as the spinal column dysfunctions or imbalances at the pelvis level.
