Abstract:

Detta arbete utvärderar ANN-arkitekturerna feedforward, Elman och ESCN då de används för att styra en bil i en enkel 2D-simulering. Nätverken tränas av en evolutionär algoritm som använder nätverkens vikter som genom för dess individer. Syftet med arbetet är att se om arkitekturerna presterar olika bra. Simuleringens komplexitet, i form av halka och sladd, samt banans svårighetsgrad varieras för att se vilka arkitekturer som klarar vilka komplexa problem bäst och var de eventuellt brister. Ett program utvecklades som testade de olika fallen och resultatet visade att Elman presterade sämst, speciellt då komplexiteten ökade, och ESCN presterade lite bättre än feedforward. Varför Elman presterade sämre fick inget svar i detta arbete, och ESCN använde sitt minne på ett sätt som skulle kunna vara värt att titta vidare på. Framtida arbete skulle kunna vara att ta reda på orsakerna till de ovanliga beteendena som uppstod samt att genomföra mer utförliga tester.

Abstract:

Neste trabalho foi explorada a aplicação de redes neurais recorrentes simples, também conhecidas como Redes de Elman, na previsão de três séries temporais mensais do varejo de bens e serviços no Brasil. As variáveis destas séries estão relacionadas com a demanda de produtos farmacêuticos, adubos, e tráfego aéreo. As previsões com Redes de Elman foram comparadas com as realizadas por modelos lineares sazonais obtidos através da metodologia de Box-Jenkins.
In this work we explored the application of simple recurrent neural networks, also known as Elman networks, in the prediction of three series of retail goods and services in Brazil. The series are formed by variables related to the monthly demand for pharmaceuticals, fertilizers and domestic air traffic. The forecast with Elman networks were compared with those performed by seasonal linear models obtained by Box-Jenkins methodology.

The objective of this study was to compare statistical methods and artificial intelligence to the problem of time series forecasting using Holt-Winters, Box-Jenkins and the Elman neural network. The models were used to predict one step ahead of the price of ethanol in the state of Goias and compared using measures of specific errors. At the end, the results indicated that all three techniques were competitive in terms of predicting one step ahead especially the statistical models appeared to be the most suitable methods in terms of balance between performance and complexity.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar os métodos de estatística e de inteligência artificial para o problema da previsão de séries temporais através de Holt-Winters, Box- Jenkins e a rede neural de Elman. Os modelos foram utilizados para previsão um passo a frente dos preços do etanol no estado de Goiás e comparados através medidas de erros específicas. Ao final, os resultados indicaram que todos os métodos se mostraram competitivos em termos de predição um passo à frente, destacando-se os modelos estatísticos como os mais adequados em termos de parcimônia entre desempenho e complexidade.

Abstract:

O objetivo deste trabalho foi desenvolver um modelo para reconhecer e reproduzir padrões de viagens encadeadas a pé. O processo de modelagem foi conduzido através da aplicação das técnicas das Redes Neurais Artificiais (RNAs), utilizando-se de uma rede estática MLP e de rede dinâmica Elman. A análise do desempenho do modelo foi baseada nos dados de uma pesquisa de Origem-Destino realizada, em 1987, pelo METRÔ-SP na Região Metropolitana de São Paulo. Na modelagem foi fixado o modo de viagem a pé, e, na abordagem seqüencial, padrões de viagens individuais foram representados em termos de dois componentes: duração da viagem e tipo de atividades. A análise foi realizada partindo da classificação geral e específica para cada segmento do encadeamento de viagens, o que permitiu a comparação dos resultados entre padrões de viagens observados e os reproduzidos pelas redes. Na classificação geral, cinco dos padrões previstos com maior freqüência pelas RNAs representaram em média 58,9% dos indivíduos no conjunto de dados usado para testar o desempenho do modelo. Para o vetor de duas e quatro viagens, as redes neurais reproduziram 50% das durações de viagem e 90% das atividades, tais como Trabalho e Escola. Embora esses resultados não pareçam muito robustos, não significa que eles estejam errados. As porcentagens acima representam a probabilidade de uma pessoa realizar viagens com aquelas durações ou tipo de atividades.
The main objective of this work was to develop a model for recognizing and reproduzing trip-chaining patterns by walk. The process of modeling was conducted applying the techniques of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), by using one of the static networks MLP and the Elman dynamic network. The analysis of the performance of the model was based on the origin-destination home-interview survey carried out by METRÔ-SP in São Paulo Metropolitan Area in 1987. The mode of trip by walk was fixed in the model, and, in the sequential approach, individual travel patterns were represented in terms of two components: trip duration and activity type. The analysis was accomplished starting from the general and specific classifications for each segment of the chained trips, which allowed the comparison of the results between the observed travel patterns and reproduced ones through ANNs. In general classification, 5 of the patterns most frequently predicted by the ANNs represented 58.9% of the individuals in the dataset used for testing the model performance. For the vectors of two and four trips, the neural networks reproduced 50% of trip durations and 90% of the activities, such as work and school. Although those results seem not so robust, it does not mean that they are wrong. The percentages above represent the probability of a person making trips with those durations or type of activities.

Abstract:

An artificial Neural Network (ANN) system has been developed that can analyse aircraft flight data to provide a reconstruction of the aerodynamic loads experienced by the aircraft during flight, including manoeuvre, buffet and distributed loading. For this research data was taken from the International Follow-On Structural Test Project (IFOSTP) F/A-18 fatigue test conducted by the Royal Australian Air Force and Canadian Forces. This fatigue test involved the simultaneous application of both manouevre and buffet loads using airbag actuators and shakers. The applied loads were representative of the actual loads experienced by an FA/18 during flight tests. Following an evaluation of different ANN types an Ellman network with three linear layers was selected. The Elman back-propagation network was tested with various parameters and structures. The network was trained using the MATLAB 'traingdx' function with is a gradient descent with momentum and adaptive learning rate back-propagation algorithm. The ANN was able to provide a good approximation of the actual manoeuvre or buffet loads at the location where the training loads data were recorded even for input values which differ from the training input values. In further tests the ability to estimate distributed loading at locations not included in the training data was also demonstrated. The ANN was then modified to incorporate various methods for the calculation and prediction of output error and reliability Used in combination and in appropriate circumstances, the addition of these capabilities significantly increase the reliability, accuracy and therefore usefulness of the ANN system's ability to estimate aircraft loading.To demonstrate the ANN system's usefulness as a fatigue monitoring tool it was combined with a formulae for crack growth analysis. Results inficate the ANN system may be a useful fatigue monitoring tool enabling real time monitoring of aircraft critical components using existing strain gauge sensors.

Abstract:

The thesis concentrates on using recurrent neural networks in computer vision. The theoretical part describes the basic knowledge about artificial neural networks with focus on a recurrent architecture. There are presented some of possible applications of the recurrent neural networks which could be used for a solution of real problems. The practical part concentrates on face recognition from an image sequence using the Elman simple recurrent network. For training there are used the backpropagation and backpropagation through time algorithms.

Para tanto, foi feito uma anÃlise comparativa da aplicaÃÃo de modelos baseados em redes neurais do tipo: alimentada adiante focada atrasada no tempo (FTLFN); alimentada adiante atrasada no tempo distribuÃda (DTLFN); recorrente de Elman (ERN) e auto-regressiva nÃo-linear com entradas exÃgenas (NARX). Da anÃlise comparativa, o modelo baseado em redes NARX apresentou melhores resultados, evidenciando o potencial do modelo para uso em casos reais, o que contribuirÃ para a viabilizaÃÃo de projetos desta natureza em estaÃÃes de tratamento de Ãgua de pequeno porte.
Considering the importance of the chemical coagulation control for the water treatment by direct filtration, this work proposes the application of artificial neural networks for inference of dosage control signals of principal and auxiliary coagulant, in the chemical coagulation process in a water treatment plant by direct filtration. To that end, was made a comparative analysis of the application of models based on neural networks, such as: Focused Time Lagged Feedforward Network (FTLFN); Distributed Time Lagged Feedforward Network (DTLFN); Elman Recurrent Network (ERN) and Non-linear Autoregressive with exogenous inputs (NARX). From the comparative analysis, the model based on NARX networks showed better results, demonstrating the potential of the model for use in real cases, which will contribute to the viability of projects of this nature in small size water treatment plants.

Some of them are very short and practical - for years Arro planned to visit his home-land and in 1981 he finally succeeded, together with his wife he spent a few days in Riga and Tallinn. But several letters contain interesting and sometimes bitter reflections about the situation of East-European studies in the West, particularly in Germany.

Le traducteur allemand Elmar Tophoven (1923-1989) a constitué au cours de sa carrière de riches archives documentant son travail sur des écrivains tels que Samuel Beckett, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Nathalie Sarraute et Claude Simon. Il a en effet élaboré une méthode appelée « traduction transparente », qui consiste à prendre en notes son processus de traduction, d’abord sur des fiches, puis à l’ordinateur. Loin d’être effacé et invisible, le traducteur donne ainsi à voir son travail d’écriture et de création et se manifeste comme l’auteur du texte traduit. Cette auctorialité s’ancre tout d’abord dans les discours qui construisent la figure du traducteur, depuis sa biographie jusqu’à sa posture. Elle doit être aussi considérée comme le fruit d’une trajectoire sociale, qui se situe dans un champ de la traduction en voie d’autonomisation. Elle est enfin révélée par l’analyse génétique des manuscrits que la pratique de la traduction transparente a permis de créer et de conserver. Grâce à cette méthode visant à améliorer la condition des traductrices et traducteurs littéraires, Elmar Tophoven peut non seulement être considéré comme l’auteur d’une véritable œuvre traductive, mais aussi comme un acteur important ayant contribué à faire reconnaître la dimension auctoriale de toute traduction
Over the course of his career, German translator Elmar Tophoven (1923-1989) built a rich archive documenting his work on writers such as Samuel Beckett, Alain Robbe-Grillet, Nathalie Sarraute and Claude Simon. He developed a method called “transparent translation”, which consists in recording his translation process on index cards, and eventually on a computer. Far from being erased and invisible, the translator thus evidently shows how he writes and creates, presenting himself as the author of the translated text. This authorship is first based on the discourses which shape the figure of the translator, from his biography to his posture. It must also be viewed as the result of his social trajectory, taking place in the translation field which is in the process of gaining autonomy. Finally, the genetic analysis of the manuscripts created and preserved by the practice of transparent translation reveals the authorship of the translator. On the basis of this method aiming at improving the conditions of literary translators, Elmar Tophoven can be seen both as the author of a true translation oeuvre, and as an important contributor to the recognition of the authorial dimension of every translation

Abstract:

Med stigande energikostnader, och med påverkan av miljön är det viktigt att spara energi. Ett led i detta är

att bygga bostäder och andra byggnader mer energisnåla, eftersom dessa står för nästan 40 % av Sveriges

energianvändning.

Ett hinder för att bygga energisnålt är den ökade kostnaden vid produktionen, för exempelvis ökande mängd

byggnadsmaterial. Det är därför viktigt att inte bara titta på vad byggnadskostnaden blir, utan vad kostnaden blir

på sikt. Läggs extra pengar vid byggnationen på extra isolering och effektivare installationer, kommer

driftskostnaden av huset minska. Detta gör att inom en framtid kommer den dyrare byggnationen ha betalat sig.

Det visar sig att passivhus fungerar och att det betalar sig i längden att bygga passivhus. Det tar bara olika

lång tid beroende vilka faktorer som tas med vid beräkningarna. Men med samma ökning av elpriset som under

de gångna åren, återbetalar sig passivhuset på ca 16 år. Där efter sparas mer pengar in varje år i form av lägre

driftskostnader

Along with increasing energy costs, and effection on the environment, it is more and more important to save

energy. One thing we can do is to build so called passivehouses, as the houses takes up almost 40 % of the

total energy, spent in Sweden.

Increasing production costs stands in the way of building low-energy buildings. Therefore it’s important not

only to consider the cost of building the house, but also to look at what the yearly costs will be. If more money is

spent, during the production of the house, at extra isolation and more effective installation systems, the yearly

costs will decrease. That leads to the conclusion that the house is repaid in a certain amount of years. How long

it takes and which factors it depends on the most, will be revealed in this paper.

One of the conclusion is that the passivehouses works, and the extra money spent when building the house,

is repaid in about 16 years. The repayment time, depends on a huge number of scenarios, but the money will

still be repaid, it’s just a matter of time

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the use of neuronal networks for the control of telecommunication network elements. The aim of the thesis is to create a simulation model of network element with switching array with memory, in which the optimization kontrol switching array is solved by means of the neural network. All source code is created in integrated environment MATLAB. To training are used feed-forward backpropagation network. Miss achieve satisfactory result mistakes. Work apposite decision procedure given to problem and it is possible on ni tie up in an effort to find optimum solving.

Abstract:

O marketing social tem vindo a assumir cada vez mais um papel importante para a imagem das empresas ou instituições públicas ou privadas. A aposta neste conceito tem sido evidenciada através de diversas campanhas com as quais nos defrontamos diariamente (Zenone, 2006: 68). Embora “não sendo totalmente clara a atuação do marketing social, é importante compreender a evolução dos conceitos, buscando uma purificação destes, elucidando as confusões, banalizações e até deturpações na atualidade” (Araújo, 2005: 5). A revisão da literatura efetuada revelou a existência de um grande número de conceitos associados ao marketing social e às variáveis da marca em estudo, nomeadamente aos fatores de perceção: notoriedade, qualidade percebida, imagem de marca e ao fator comportamental: mudança de comportamento, sendo este último fundamental no contexto de marketing social (Kotler e Roberto, 1992: 25). Nesta vertente, a Câmara Municipal do Porto lidera um consórcio local no âmbito da mobilidade sustentável, o Projeto Europeu Civitas Elan (PECE), o qual visa, essencialmente, a implementação de medidas inovadoras na área dos transportes que têm como principal objetivo a mudança de hábitos e comportamentos dos indivíduos, nomeadamente a redução do uso do veículo particular em detrimento de outros modos de transporte mais ecológicos. Parte da comunidade científica considera a presença dos intangíveis, nomeadamente a marca, como um dos principais meios ao alcance das instituições para a obtenção de uma diferenciação do produto e como um fator de inibição face à concorrência (Kerin e Sethuraman, 1998: 260; Perez, 2004: 31; Keller et. al, 2002: 120; Côrte-Real, 2010). A sociedade é composta por clientes cada vez mais exigentes, com preferências e gostos em constante transformação, muitas vezes pouco previsíveis, constituindo um desafio adicional para as empresas na conquista do seu espaço.[...]

Abstract:

Cette thèse propose un parcours biographique et littéraire autour de la vie et de l’oeuvre de Nikos Kazantzaki (1883-1957), ses contacts avec la langue et la culture françaises et leur influence sur sa vision du monde. C’est une recherche des éléments de la culture française dans l’oeuvre de Kazantzaki et plus précisément dans les deux ouvrages écrits directement en français, Toda-Raba et Le Jardin des Rochers. Kazantzaki, tel un Ulysse contemporain, voyage émerveillé dans l’oecoumène, afin de découvrir les richesses de la réalité humaine, pour agir au lieu d’être agité par elle! Ouvrier insatiable de l’esprit, il ne cesse de proclamer, jusqu’à la fin de ses jours, les belles vertus universelles: Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité, Dignité Humaine! Sa préoccupation primordiale : transformer la chair en esprit, transmettre la semence de ses écrits, riche héritage d’amour, à la postérité, ne rien laisser à Charon si ce n’est quelques os! Il tisse le cocon de sa poésie, pareil à un ver de soie, laissant la semence d’une création immortelle, trait d’union entre le passé et le futur. La joie d’apprendre, l’amour des langues, la beauté, l’art, la grâce, la tendresse, se rejoignent dans ce bijou multiculturel kazantzakien, pour danser au rythme du souffle de la vie! Bergson est la colonne dorsale de la création kazantzakienne. Ses théories de la durée réelle, de la matière et de l’esprit, de l’évolution créatrice et de l'élan vital, du langage, de l'art comme moyen de communication entre la nature et Dieu, forment le fleuve de la culture française qui traverse l’oeuvre kazantzakienne pour la conduire à la liberté : à Dieu! Le dieu de Kazantzaki évolue et est réinventé dans les fables humaines. C’est un Dieu qui attend l'homme pour le sauver, afin qu’ensemble ils puissent créer la vie !
This thesis proposes a bibliographic and literary journey in the life and work of Nikos Kazantzaki (1883-1957), his relation to the French language and culture, their influence on his vision of the world and his creation. It is a research on the elements of French culture in the work of Nikos Kazantzaki and more specifically in the two novels written directly in French, Toda-Raba and The Rock Garden. Kazantzaki, a contemporary Ulysses, travels in the world with amazement, discovering the richness of the human reality, acting instead of being acted by it! An insatiable worker of the spirit, he does not stop proclaiming the beautiful universal virtues: Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood, and Human Dignity! His essential concern: to transform the flesh into spirit; to transmit the seed of his writings, that rich inheritance of love, to the posterity, leaving nothing to Charon, except a few bones! He weaves his cocoon of poetry, similar to a silk worm, and leaves the seed of its immortal creation as a link between past and future. The joy of learning, the passion for languages, beauty, art, grace and tenderness, join in that multicultural jewel , Kazantzaki’s work, to dance on the rhythm and breath of life! Bergson is the central figure of the French culture in Kazantzaki’s creation. His theories on real duration, on matter and spirit, on creative evolution and the élan vital, on language and art as a means of communication between nature and god, a god who changes and is reinvented in the human fables, a god who waits for men in order to save them, to create life together with them, will be the river of French culture crossing Kazantzaki’s work and leading him to freedom, to God!
