Abstract:
Computer-aided design (CAD) is a technological revolution, very powerful and with large applicability to problem solving. It is essential in many different disciplines ranging from architecture to education, medicine, physics, or gaming. In this work, we propose a novel CAD tool, called CADDi, to assist in the design of electric diagrams in the educational context. We are applying the theory of formal languages to create WDLang, an easy-to-use, highly expressive, unequivocal, and correct programming language for designing electric circuits. This programming language is the cornerstone of CADDi, which automatically generates the equivalent ladder diagram (explains the circuit operation) to the programmed circuit, offering additional features that allow analysis of its functionality in an interactive way. It also offers a graphical interface to directly design ladder diagrams, or to modify the automatically generated ones. The existing electrical CAD tools are either very simple, e.g., for creating good-looking diagrams with no functionality, or too complex, for professional systems design. CADDi is extremely useful for learning purposes. It assists users on how to generate ladder diagrams, and on understanding the behavior of electrical circuits. Additionally, it serves as an assessment tool for self-evaluation in the translation from wiring diagrams to ladder ones. In order to make CADDi highly accessible, it was implemented as a web page.

This paper analyzes single-bus connection from the reliability, flexibility and economy point of view, then outlined the typical single-bus wiring switching operation principles and methods.

The electrical installation is a circuit of electrical equipment which is interconnected with one another and it is within the scope of the electrical power system. This article is to present the result of social community service (PkM) activity at Boarding School of STP SMP/SMA KU Sumedang, that shows an electrical installation design of multi-storey building. In construction of multi-storey building of this boarding school, they do not have an electrical installation design. So, the design in this article is to provide design drawings of the electrical installation, so it could be guidance of setting up of electrical installation for the new boarding school building. So that, they got the electrical installation safely for human and the equipment, as well reliable and comfort during using electricity. The design drawings that resulted from the social community service are drawings of front look, beside look, wiring, and single line diagram (SLD). Also, resulted total power calculation, protection, and capacity (rating) of MCB, and calculated cable rating (KHA), choosing type and cross-sectional area of cables that will be used in electrical installation design for the boarding school building.

The power structure of main electrical wiring diagram outgoing line in Zhongmu 500kV substation is analyzed firstly, and then the substation communication system based on Bluetooth technology was put forward in this paper. The power and critical loads are important, the connection lines and the connection modes in the substation are very complicated. Bluetooth technology can replace wired cable connection with the wireless interface in the short distance, prevent from complicated line in industry. This paper analyzes and designs model of the network in the substation, enhancing the automatic and intelligence level. Substation monitoring system was composed of meters, relays and other communication devices with Bluetooth components. The structure of the system can be divided into three layers, the bottom is monitor, the terminal in high-voltage chamber is the middle layer, the central processor in Control Building is the most top, bottom communicate with middle layer by Bluetooth technology.The system architecture, software, hardware and the necessary factions of this system are introduced.

ABSTRACT Electricity is an important part of human life. The need for electrical energy increases directly proportional to the increase in population growth. Manokwari Regency as the capital of West Papua province continues to carry out the construction of offices, housing and other public facilities from year to year that require electrical energy. Electrical installation demands professionalism and standards in accordance with the general electrical installation regulations (PUIL). This community service activity aims to train people who cannot continue their education to a higher level due to limited costs. Participants are trained to be able to carry out installation, repair installations, and open their own jobs. Community service activities are carried out in the form of training with the lecture method regarding the introduction of electrical installation tools and materials, installation practices and electrical installation wiring diagrams according to PUIL standards and direct practice in the laboratory of the Electrical engineering department of the Engineering Faculty, University of Papua. Keywords: Training; Lighting Installation, Society, PUIL. ABSTRAK Listrik merupakan bagian penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Kebutuhan energi listrik meningkat berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan pertumbuhan penduduk. Kabupaten Manokwari sebagai ibukota provinsi Papua Barat terus melaksanakan pembangunan perkantoran, perumahan dan fasilitas publik lainnya di dari tahun ke tahun yang membutuhkan energi listrik. Pemasangan instalasi listrik menuntut profesionalisme dan standar yang sesuai dengan peraturan umum instalasi listrik (PUIL). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melatih masyarakat yang tidak bisa melanjutkan pendidikan ke jenjang lebih tinggi oleh karena keterbatasan biaya. Peserta dilatih agar dapat melakukan pemasangan, perbaikan instalasi, dan membuka lapangan kerja sendiri. Abstract:
The article highlights the test results of a non-standard reference electrode made of a stripped of insulation strand of aluminum wiring, which were conducted on board an auxiliary marine vessel PM-15. The potential of the ship’s hull was measured at the same control point using three reference electrodes: silver chloride electrode No. 1; aluminum electrode No. 2; aluminum electrode No. 3. The vessel’s hull potential was measured over five days. All three reference electrodes were used daily. With the help of each electrode, fifty parallel measurements of the potential of the ship’s hull were carried out with a time interval between measurements of 5 seconds. To assess the accuracy of the measurement results, they were processed statistically. The factors that must be taken into account in the development of technologies for manufacturing non-standard reference electrodes are listed: using available inexpensive materials; avoiding expensive equipment in manufacturing the reference electrode; eliminating complex methods of storage of reference electrodes on ships. There has been given a diagram of measuring electrical circuits including the steel hull, a bulwark, a multimeter, a clamping device, switches, a silver chloride reference electrode, aluminum wires, etc. The results of the study can be used on sea-going vessels to organize the control of the protective effect of the hulls of ships and vessels in the absence of standard reference electrodes.

The aim of this review is to discuss what is known about the reflex control of the human masticatory system and to propose a method for standardized investigation. Literature regarding the current knowledge of activation of jaw muscles, receptors involved in the feedback control, and reflex pathways is discussed. The reflexes are discussed under the headings of the stimulation conditions. This was deliberately done to remind the reader that under each stimulation condition, several receptor systems are activated, and that it is not yet possible to stimulate only one afferent system in isolation in human mastication experiments. To achieve a method for uniform investigation, we need to set a method for stimulation of the afferent pathway under study with minimal simultaneous activation of other receptor systems. This stimulation should also be done in an efficient and reproducible way. To substantiate our conviction to standardize the stimulus type and parameters, we discuss the advantages and disadvantages of mechanical and electrical stimuli. For mechanical stimulus to be delivered in a reproducible way, the following precautions are suggested: The stimulus delivery system (often a probe attached to a vibrator) should be brought into secure contact with the area of stimulation. To minimize the slack between the probe, the area to be stimulated should be taken up by the application of pre-load, and the delivered force should be recorded in series. Electrical stimulus has advantages in that it can be delivered in a reproducible way, though its physiological relevance can be questioned. It is also necessary to standardize the method for recording and analyzing the responses of the motoneurons to the stimulation. For that, a new technique is introduced, and its advantages over the currently used methods are discussed. The new method can illustrate the synaptic potential that is induced in the motoneurons without the errors that are unavoidable in the current techniques. We believe that once stimulation, recording, and analysis methods are standardized, it will be possible to bring out the real "wiring diagram" that operates in conscious human subjects.

With the development of electric vehicle industry, it is necessary to construct more electric vehicle charging stations to promote the popularization of electric vehicles. As photovoltaic generation owns flexible installing, convenient power supplying, and environmental protecting characteristics, it is suitable for providing power for electric vehicle charging stations and reducing a network loads. After analyzed electric vehicle charging demand, this paper proposed the designing concept of the electric system for the photovoltaic generation mix charging station, which was based on the battery charging and discharging characteristics as well as its usage. Then, the paper provided a selection of electric equipments for the charging station and an electric wiring diagram after designing the electric system. This study and design may help for promoting construction of electric vehicle charging stations, and development and popularization of electric vehicles.

Wireless Battery Management System (wBMS) is a primary enabler for the widespread adoption of electric cars, allowing auto Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) to avoid having to rework complicated wiring diagrams for each new car and ensuring battery scalability. This article mainly focuses on the validation of an end-to-end wBMS system by performing several tests like Packet Transfer Ratio (PTR) for different configuration files, developing and implementing a health report application that generates health report in real-time, automating the process of OTA (Over the Air) upgrade which also includes automation of configuring the front-end application using a python programming language. The main intention behind developing the script to automate the OTA upgrade and health report application is to reduce the time consumed to test the system, reduce human errors, and perform the tests for any number of iterations.

This study aims to: (1) determine the process of developing a learning media simulator for electro-pneumatic systems based on dual design, (2) knowing the effectiveness of learning media in the form of electro-pneumatic system simulators based on dual design. This research is a research and development adapted from the 4D development model, namely Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. The subjects of this study were students of Mechanical Engineering Education in Semester IV and V with 30 students taking pneumatic hydraulic courses. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaires and interviews with research instruments in the form of interview guidelines and questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed with descriptive quantitative. The results showed (1) The results of the development of learning media for electro-pneumatic system simulators based on Dual Design as supporting media for electro-pneumatic practices produced 3 main components, namely the working system in the pneumatic electro system, wiring diagrams and electrical circuits, (2) the feasibility results of expert validation media is 84% (Very Good), expert material validation is 92% (Very Good), and user validation is 86% (Very Good). So, the learning media for electro-pneumatic system simulator is feasible as a learning media in pneumatic hydraulic courses.

Electrical activity has a key role in shaping neuronal circuits during development. In most sensory modalities, early in development, internally generated spontaneous activity sculpts the initial layout of neuronal wiring. With the maturation of the sense organs, the system relies more on sensory-evoked electrical activity. Stimuli-driven neuronal discharge is required for the transformation of immature circuits in the specific patterns of neuronal connectivity that subserve normal brain function. The olfactory system (OS) differs from this organizational plan. Despite the important role of odorant receptors (ORs) in shaping olfactory topography, odor-evoked activity does not have a prominent role in refining neuronal wiring. On the contrary, afferent spontaneous discharge is required to achieve and maintain the specific diagram of connectivity that defines the topography of the olfactory bulb (OB). Here, we provide an overview of the development of olfactory topography, with a focus on the role of afferent spontaneous discharge in the formation and maintenance of the specific synaptic contacts that result in the topographic organization of the OB.

Abstract:
The contributions of fire disaster to the varying degrees of students’, staff and schools’ property and/or lives lost in secondary schools in Nigeria is recently alarming. The study assessed causes of fire disaster in public and private secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis, Nigeria. The objectives were to identify latent causes of fire disaster, use the fishbone diagram to illustrate and analyze the root-causes of fire disaster in secondary schools. The exploratory research strategy was used. The target population was 18 senior public and private secondary schools, Ilorin having 18 principals, 965 teachers and 3765 senior secondary 2 students. From the target population, simple random sampling technique through a pick and not-return balloting was employed to sample 72.22% of the principals, 14.8% each of the teachers and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaire, participatory observation, and were analyzed using cause-and-effects-analysis. The findings reveal fire disasters in public and private secondary schools in Ilorin metropolis are primarily caused by bush/waste burning, electrical fault/wiring, arson, carelessness, and alcohol, smoking. Results also showed that the root-causes of fire phenomenon from the classic categories were setting undergrowth on fire, non-insulated wiring system and sparks from wrong connections, emotional induced from cultism rivalry among male teachers and students over a girl and superiority within and outside the school, mishandling of chemicals in various laboratories during experimentation, and lack of proper fencing of school compound. The study recommends that schools in the metropolis should prepare and anticipate future fire tragedy. Consequently, since there are several factors responsible for fire incidents, further studies could be conducted to clarify the sequence or magnitude of each cause of the fire outbreak.
