Abstract:
The Brazilian energy sector adopted a new regulation system in 2015 due to a system collapse threat. The system was changed to contractually incorporate firms’ economic-financial monitoring. This paper aims to assess the progress of this monitoring model toward achieving its goals. Thus, we proceed with a triangulation with three analyses. First, we analyse the literature to indicate if the economic-financial monitoring shows a hybrid form of adoption as suggested by the literature as the most suitable towards achieving regulatory goals. Second, we verify the perception of the economic-financial monitoring efficiency by the regulatory agency. Third, we evaluate the behaviour of some financial indicators before and after the new regulation. Our results show that, first, the economic-financial monitoring adopts a hybrid form which may drives better monitoring. Second, the perception of the regulator regarding efficiency of the financial monitoring model is favourable. Third, our results show that the sector leverage and profitability variances were significantly reduced after the implementation of financial monitoring which indicates less Asymmetric Information and consequently, better monitoring. In general, our results indicate some uncertainty reduction and more uniform behaviour of the entire sector after adopting an economic-financial monitoring system.

Abstract:
A methodology of defect identification in linear DC circuits based on so called Virtual Distortion Method (VDM) will be presented. The proposed approach takes adventage of the analogy linking mechanical models of truss structures and electric circuits. In this paper we cover the issue of modelling defects in electric circuits by compatible state of distortions, next we introduce the concept of influence matrix Dij, which describes global sensitivity of the circuit and enables fast recalculation of system response, and we formulate a gradient method of defect identification (inverse problem) based on local current and voltage measurements. In the following analysis we focus on so-called impotent states of distortions, which are the source of ambiguity of solution. We show that these difficulties can be overcome by a proper measuring strategy.

Abstract:
During the last few decades, the poor quality of produced electric power is a key factor that has affected the operation of critical electrical infrastructure such as high-voltage equipment. This type of equipment exhibits multiple different failures, which originate from the poor electric power quality. This phenomenon is basically due to the utilization of high-frequency switching devices that operate over modern electrical generation systems, such as PV inverters. The conduction of significant values of electric currents at high frequencies in the range of 2 to 150 kHz can be destructive for electrical and electronic equipment and should be measured. However, the measuring devices that have the ability of analyzing a signal in the frequency domain present the ability of analyzing up to 2.5 kHz–3 kHz, which are frequencies too low in comparison to the high switching frequencies that inverters, for example, work. Electric currents at 16 kHz were successfully measured on an 8 kWp roof PV generator. This paper presents a fast-developed modern measuring system, using a field programmable gate array, aiming to detect electric currents at high frequencies, with a capability for working up to 150 kHz. The system was tested in the laboratory, and the results are satisfactory.

The presented paper describes the creation of a monitoring system based on the IoT platform, designed to monitor the parameters of an electric motor. Based on the obtained data, the operator is informed about the current state of the electric motor and can intervene in time so that it is not suddenly damaged or destroyed. In the next phase of the research, a model of predictive maintenance will be processed based on the obtained data. As a result, the operator will not have to estimate the condition of the electric motor, but the system itself will suggest appropriate measures. Such a system will find application in practice, but also in the teaching process, as the preparation of graduates for the modern monitoring systems, which are increasingly used in practice, will be improved. Abstract:
Electrical resistance change method has been applied to monitor a delamination crack of a thin CFRP laminate. For a thick CFRP laminate, multiple delamination cracks are made with many matrix cracks, and the electric current in the thick CFRP laminate may not flow in the thickness direction due to the strong orthotropic electrical conductivity. The present study employs an electric impedance change method for the identification of damage location and dimension of the damaged area; applicability of the method is investigated experimentally using thick beam-type specimens fabricated from cross-ply laminates of 36 plies. After making the damage, electrical impedance was decreased. A residual stress relief model was proposed to explain the decrease. From the measured electrical impedance changes, the relationships between the electrical impedance changes and damages are obtained by means of response surfaces. The response surfaces estimated the damage location and dimension of the damaged area exactly even for the thick CFRP laminates. The electrical impedance change method can be used as an appropriate sensor for measurement of residual stress relief due to damages of thick CFRP laminates.

Abstract:
Electric vehicles is in rapid development. The energy commonly used as a driving force for electric vehicles comes from batteries. The development of electric vehicle technology is currently concentrated on efforts to charge the battery used by utilizing the power wasted when braking electrically. The gearbox and final drive are installed as a mechanical transmission system for electric vehicles to increase the torque of the BLDC motor as the main driving force of the vehicle. The regenerative process occurs when the Kelly-KBL motor controller electric braking feature is activated. For this reason, Arduino Mega and LabVIEW software are used to observe the current and voltage of lead acid batteries with voltage 48 V and capacity 225 Ah (C20). In addition, a 2 kW BLDC motor RPM was also observed in the electric braking monitoring system. From the results of monitoring and data collection, the vehicle traveled a distance of 36.06 m in 68 s time intervals with an average speed of 16.8 m / s. The average torque value when electric braking on a BLDC motor supplies 154 Nm, while the average torque of the vehicle is 996.99 Nm. The average regenerative power of the wheels is 17.07 kW, while the average mechanical power of the wheels is 13.67 kW. Coulometric state of charge (SOC) shows an increase in battery capacity of 4.27% and 99.97% voltage SOC at the beginning of the activation of the electric brake pedal. Maximum battery power movement when charging, 2.25 kW is caused by the activation of the electric brake pedal. Whereas when using a maximum of 1.52 kW. The application of electric braking has a power consumption efficiency of 0.042%. and charging power charging 18.97%.

Abstract:
Rotating electric machines with operating voltage greater than 12 [kV] are an integral part of the installed base of electric generators in different countries. These voltages incorporate new challenges to be solved in maintenance practices. One of the most important challenges is the identification of the condition of the stator winding. For many years, the most commonly used monitoring techniques in electrical generators were off-line insulation measurements, especially in direct current. More recently, the use of on-line insulation monitoring techniques has enabled problems to be detected in advance, such as partial discharge measurement. This article presents the measurement of on-line partial discharges, as a condition monitoring technique for high voltage electric generators. It is also used for risk assessment and decision support for corrective actions. In the case study, it was evidenced that periodic monitoring is key during the operating time of the evaluated generator unit, which can be extended to other generators. The monitoring of on-line partial discharges allowed to know its condition and evolution through the trend in time. Keywords: Partial discharge, electric generator, failure mode, predictive maintenance, void.

Abstract:
Internet of Things (loT) has opened up a myriad of applications in many areas, including medical and healthcare networks, smart home control, and environmental surveillance. IoT is supposed to bring about a large amount of progress in the ubiquitous computing sector. IoT-based energy management programs may allow a significant contribution to energy conservation. Therefore, this paper focuses on the design and implementation of an IoT based household electricity energy monitoring and electric bulb remote control for the reduction of electrical wastage using ESP 32-bit microcontroller. The ESP 32 microcontroller was used as the brain of the entire system which processes the energy consumption, temperature reading. Temperature monitoring can assist tremendously in the explosion and burning incidence avoidance, thereby saving lives and properties. The ESP32 microcontroller also handles the internet connectivity via its inbuilt WIFI module in order to transmit the real-time energy consumption, temperature reading, and electric bulb remote control over the internet. A MATLAB app was designed to serve as user interface for monitoring the household electricity energy consumption, temperature reading and electric bulb remote control via Thingspeak cloud server from MathWorks (makers of MATLAB) and also monitors the temperature and electricity consumed by the pressing iron and the hair dryer. Whenever, the electricity consumption or temperature reading exceeds the set threshold on the MATLAB app, a notification is sent to the user’s Email. The system could be used for reducing the wastage of electrical energy in the house by proper scheduling and monitoring of the appliances

Abstract:
The article discusses the structure of autonomous electrical systems with an electric drive and an electric energy generation system. An approach is described for assessing the overall efficiency of technological cycle equipment with specification of parameters that must be considered when calculating it. The necessity of taking into account energy efficiency and operability indicators of autonomous electric complexes is substantiated. The effectiveness of the use of autonomous systems decreases throughout the entire life cycle due to wear and tear. As the operability of electromechanical equipment, an indicator of the residual resource is selected. The calculation of the residual resource, with the definition of its boundary values and recommendations for further use. Nominal energy efficiency parameters of autonomous electrotechnical complexes with electric drive deteriorate during operation, which also needs to be taken into account. To simplify the assessment of the operational state of electromechanical equipment, a state diagram is presented that allows you to track the dynamics of degradation of individual nodes. Taking into account the described indicators and means of control, it is possible to increase the efficiency of using autonomous complexes.

Electric bicycles are one of many vehicles with alternative fuels. This electric bike uses electric power as its power source. Whose electrical energy is converted into motion energy. To convert that electrical energy into motion energy is needed which is called an electric dynamo. The electric dynamo here becomes an engine core on an electric bike. The performance of electric bicycles is measured based on high power efficiency, low energy consumption levels and stable electric bicycle components in their use. To monitor the performance, a speed and battery power scrolling system was designed on a 250W electric bike. An electric motorcycle is a type of vehicle consisting of brushless direct current (BLDC) to move the wheel, controller as energy flow regulator on BLDC, and battery as a power source. The main parts of this monitoring system include two 12 volt batteries in the series, controller, BLDC, throttle, proximity sensor, liquid crystal display (LCD). Throttle works as a BLDC speed controller. DC power meter as a measuring detector for the amount of electric current, electrical voltage, electrical energy, and electrical power displayed on the LCD.

Abstract:
The main methods that are used in the process of energy inspection of agricultural facilities include instrumental inspection of both the electrical grid of the enterprise as a whole and individual technological processes, electrical devices and electrical equipment. The instrumental survey allows you to get diagrams of the electrical load, record the consumption of electrical energy and investigate the main parameters of the electric grid on the enterprise at its different points. It is desirable to carry out such measurements without disconnecting the electrical devices, as this can lead to losses for the enterprise. The available instruments and complexes do not allow remote monitoring of the operating parameters of the electrical grid, are not adapted for long-term measurements in the conditions of agricultural facilities. Permanently installed metering devices, monitoring devices do not provide the necessary mobility during the energy audit. It is required to develop devices for remote and mobile measurement of operating parameters electrical grid of agricultural facilities. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in developing a device for remote and mobile measurement of operating parameters of electric grid of agricultural facilities. (Materials and methods) The article presents the analysis of literature sources, the analysis of existing means for measuring electrical energy parameters. (Results and discussion) The existing methods and technical means that allow for the study of the parameters of the operating modes of electric networks are not adapted to long-term measurements in the conditions of agricultural facilities, since they have low protection from the environment and a high cost. Abstract:
The present technical condition of the fleet of electric motors serving the actuators of the infrastructure facilities of the fuel and energy complex is presented. The statistics of damage and damage from abnormal operation of electric drive units operating on mechanisms with a fan and pump load are given. The analysis of the causes of the increase in the range of vibration displacement, which leads to premature failure of electric motors, is given. A method for reliably determining the causes of damage, based on measuring and analyzing the electrical parameters of the harmonic spectrum of the motor current, is proposed. Its essence consists in creation of the universal diagnostic system working at the physical principle at which any indignations in work of an electric and mechanical part of the engine and related actuator lead to modulation of the consumed current. Existence in a range of current of characteristic frequencies of a certain size demonstrates existence of these or those damages. The device for its implementation includes phase current sensors of the supply voltage, a signal conditioner for normalizing and filtering signals, an analog-to-digital converter with a USB interface, and a controller with software for analyzing, evaluating, and diagnosing the condition. Experimental results have been obtained confirming the adequacy of the methodology and technical means for monitoring electric motors of various mechanisms.

Abstract:
Accelerated ageing tests of photovoltaic laminates are requested by the IEC standards for quality control, which require the assessment of the electrical power losses after a prescribed amount of temperature and/or humidity cycles inside a climatic chamber (thermal cycling, humidity freeze, and damp heat tests). Since electric damage is measured only at the end of such tests, its kinetics induced by thermo-elastic stresses and the related degradation phenomena are reported in few cases. The aim of this study is to investigate the progress of damage, reporting the results of an unprecedented experimental campaign on a photovoltaic mini-module composed of nine multi-crystalline silicon solar cells, one of them containing a cracked cell, subject to a revised thermal cycling test including moisture. Every 40 cycles, and up to 460 (corresponding to 1840 h of testing), the progress of electric damage is assessed by monitoring the evolution of the overall electric resistance of the module. Moreover, electroluminescence images are taken with the same time interval, to assess local damage phenomena responsible for electric power-losses. Cracks are found to significantly accelerate the progress of damage as compared to what happens in intact solar cells, inducing progressive gridline failure and the spread of electrically inactive zones.

Abstract:
This paper presents an experimental study of an electric bicycle. We operated the bicycle on flat roads, uphill and downhill. The speed was categorized into slow, normal, and fast. Electrical loads were varied, step by step, for example 180, 240, 300, and 360 W. According to the observations of electrical power produced by an electric bicycle, we found that at the load of 240 W, it can produce a maximum power of 91.56 W. However, the generator can produce a maximum power of 350 W; therefore, we used a load of 360 W for studying and modeling. Finally, this model can be used to predict the electrical generation from electric bicycles as well as used for meter monitoring.
