This diploma thesis focuses on changes in the external balance of Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain in the period of financial and economic crisis after 2008. The theoretical framework is based on an exact definition of external balance, ultimately as neither surplus nor deficit of a relevant balance in terms of balance of payments. Potential impacts of monetary and fiscal policies on the external balance are described there as well, using the IS-LM-BP model. The second part of the thesis, which employs this theory, is mainly based on an analysis of relevant balances of payments of the aforementioned countries, focusing on their external balance in the period before as well as during the economic crisis. The aim of the analysis is to identify the main causes of external imbalance in the Southern European countries and to find out whether these played a key role as a trigger and accelerator in their recession after 2008. Specific changes during the crisis identified in balances of payments will also be depicted in the IS-LM-BP model. Leading to the conclusion, the outcomes of a correlation analysis are used as well, looking into causal relationships between specific balance of payments variables on the one hand, and macroeconomic variables on the other. A minor part also deals with the role played in this context by the TARGET2 payment system and answers the question to which extent this system took part in the elimination of the external imbalance of the Southern European countries during the crisis.

New Zealand has gone through remarkable reforms which have encompassed of wide range of government policies which have changed the incentives in private and public sector. This article tries to show the development of New Zealand economy before reform period, shows development of the reforms and tries to assess the economic effects of these reforms. First it analyses the effects in the primary sector, where it defines primary sector as itself and then analyses the incentives that have changed the sector output and conditions. Next the firm dynamics is being analysed as per the effects of the reforms. It is shown that first in some sectors the output proportion in GDP is lowering because of reforms were being made, later it shows this proportion to be rising again. Last, the view is made in effects analysis in labour market, where it has been found, that labour productivity is not growing enough, so the reforms were made too agresively. Next part of this article analyses macroeconomic effects such as public debt, which in brutto has been lowered through reforms to less than 30% of New Zealand GDP. First, inflation which was few years after reforms still in very high rates, but in 1990s it has been reduced well. And finaly the GDP growth itself, where it has been found out, that New Zealand has sacrifised a part of its GDP amount for agressive and fast reforms. Overlooking the period and its effects it has to be said that New Zealand has now a great market economy with transparent public sector, and the sacrifises were probably worth it.

The theme of this thesis are the economic impacts of structural policies. The first part focus on policy economic and social cohesion, an analysis of the programming period from 2004 to 2006, from 2007 to 2013 and an analysis of the current situation and the objectives set up for the programming period from 2014 to 2020. The second part is using a linear regression model to making a proposal for an improvement of drawing grants from structural funds in the new budget period from 2014 to 2020. It also determine an economic determinants which are analyse and evaluated in terms of their development since the Czech republic joined the European Union. Finally the work identified and evalueted the benefits of structural policies in various areas.

The main topic and goal of this diploma thesis Ekonomické zhodnocení vybraných investic is the evaluation of the certain economic investment in weatherproofing of the school canteen building in Kynšperk nad Ohři using data and information given by the management of this elementary school.
For evaluation were used different statistical methods that take into consideration not just period of time but also a point of view of a long-term return on investment. This thesis deals with other possibilities which could lead to better utilization of investment comparing accessible sources during the implementation.
The last part of this thesis deals with whether the investment was used properly and if the using of chosen materials and technologies was the best way of the profitability.

The thesis deals with the refrigeration systems. It analyzes ways to optimize the refrigeration process and the associated energy savings. In a practical application on an industrial building where there is the need of cooling the machinery, it compares the reference system with another two optimized alternatives. The heat recovery alternative supports heating and hot water supply and the water-side free cooling alternative lowers the energy consumption during the cold period of the year. The experimental section assesses the suitability of floor cooling in relation to the stratification of air temperature along the height of the room and the effect on thermal comfort of people.

The presented work examines the special characteristics of electricity produced by the wind as a renewable resource into which considerable hopes are being placed. Production of electricity from wind, as well as from other renewable sources, is a subject of many legislatively enshrined preferential rules. These subsidies and regulatory provisions help the energy producers but represent additional costs to every final customer and tax payer. The aim of this work is to analyse the key arguments of wind energy advocates, which are 1) economic advantage of this production due to zero costs for 'fuel' and 2) negligible burden on the environment due to zero carbon dioxide emissions. The work takes into account all aspects of wind energy production, including their financial and extra-financial implications, and shows their indefensibility in economic terms and in terms of environmental protection. Besides, I have attempted to identify institutional aspects and forms of government which is known to give interest groups a chance to succeed in their rent-seeking activities and as a result allow prosperity of the above-mentioned ineffective energy production. Attention is also paid to the observation that, given the specific technological features of electricity production from the wind, it is not possible to fully apply the conclusions of a traditional theory of economic regulation onto the current position of key players in the electricity market.

Thesis is focused on the analysis of the application Public Private Partnership within the financing of public infrastructures projects. Public infrastructure financing has traditionally lain in the domain of public sector. A tightening of many countries' budgets recently has led to an exploration of alternative resources for financing transport infrastructure as e.g. PPP. The aim of the thesis is to compare or evaluate which form of financing (PPP or using only public finance esp. issue of public bonds) is more effective. The thesis is separate into 2 important parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the thesis provides the general description of PPP projects, international experiences and about the legal and institutional framework within the EU and Czech Republic. Practical part of the thesis is focused on the main advantages and disadvantages of PPP projects. Here is also part devoted to the financial models using for the comparison which form of financing (PPP or traditional public procurement) is more efficient. Conclusion of the thesis summarizes the gained findings and also assesses which form of financing is more efficient.

The diploma thesis focuses on the topic of the economic education in the 50s of the 20th century. The issue is analyzed on the example of the University of Economics in Prague. The establishment of the University of Economics became an important milestone for the economic education in Czechoslovakia. The University of Economics was established in 1953 on the basis of the governmental regulation from 19th August 1952 No. 40/1952 Coll. regarding another changes in the organization of universities. It was stated that the studies would be for four years and the students would be able to choose from five faculties. This school was set up after the previous difficult development on the ground of the universities. The establishment of the University of Economics forewent cancelation, renaming and the establishment of different universities. These universities also concentrated on schooling in the area of economics. The legacy of the University of Economics can be seen in the continuity to the venerable University of Commerce, which belonged among the successful universities in our state. Furthermore, it undoubtedly helped to develop the origins of economics as a branch of science. The schooling on the universities in the 50s was influenced by Marxist-Leninist ideology, which was perceived as general truth at the time. The aim of the thesis is to clarify whether the University of Economics contributed to the development of the economic education in the 50s. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of the applied methodology. The applied methodology is a collection of knowledge - a social history. Moreover, there are discussed institutions and legislations foregoing the establishment of the University of Economics. In the practical part of the thesis is described the state of economics as a science in the 50s in Czechoslovakia and the importance of Marxism-Leninism and political economics for economy. In addition, there is outlined the development of economics as science during a certain period of time.

The objective of this dissertation is the evaluation of economic indicators of beef cattle farming on a specific family farm in the time period from 2013 to 2015 in Bukovina u Čisté village, Semily District. The family focuses on a crop and livestock production. The farming takes place on 110 hectares of land, the fertile ground makes 54 ha. The livestock production concentrates on breeding cows without any milk production and the bulls fattening. The amount of cows was 23 pieces to 27 pieces in the period from 2013 to 2015. Because of the crossbreeding the cows following breeds are represented: Czech Pied cattle (20 %), Limousin (72 %) and Charolais (8 %). In the bulls fattening area were more breeds represented caused by the purchased bulls. Breeds represented: Limousin (32 %), Czech Pied cattle (42 %), Blonde d Aquitaine (1 %), Aberdeen Angus (23 %) and Holstein cattle (3 %).
The processing and evaluation of economic results was prevented by factors affecting the economics of farming. In the reproduction part are the factors - the calving interval, the age structure of the cows and the scatter of births during the year. The bulls fattening part contains the research of the bulls breeds representation, age structure and carcass weight. The economic indicators consist of the evaluation of the costs, revenues, profit and the level of profitability. The breeding was evaluated in the conclusion of this dissertation and the suggestions for improvement was recommended.
The calving interval of the cows in 2013 lasted on average of 408 days, in 2014 decreased by 9 % to 373 days, and in 2015 decreased by further 9 % up to 337 days. Heifers reached 3 years of age at birthing. The oldest cows were 11 years old. The biggest group of cows was at the age of 7 years with a 27 % share. The Breeders preference is the calving during the winter to spring time period. In 2013 the birthing period lasted from February to July, in 2014 from March, except June and August, until October and in 2015 from February to August. For the entire period was 76 % of births in the barn and 24 % of births on pasture. In the entire period 76 % of births happened in the barn and 24 % of births on pasture.
The bulls fattening contained 42 % of own breeding and the next part consist of purchased bulls. The largest group of bulls are Czech Pied cattle constituting of 42 %. Limousin Bulls breeds and Aberdeen Angus breeds created 21 % and 79 % out of that are owned by the breeder. The best average of hot carcass weight (HCW) was 399kg at Aberdeen Angus breed. The value of the carcass at Limousin bulls was 8 % lower and the bulls of the Czech Pied cattle was more than 20 % lower. The slaughter bulls were sold at an average age of 23 months and HCW 344 kg in 2013, in 2014 at the average age of 24 months and HCW 379 kg, in 2015 at the average age of 22 months and HCW 330 kg. The highest variability was recorded in the year 2015 with a value of 34,63 % and the lowest in 2013 with 8,80 %.
During the time period the highest cost entry has not changed. Just the share was different. The feed entry share was at 61,7 % in 2013, at 68,89 % in 2014 and at 52,30 % in 2015. 95,7 % of the total cost was assigned to the own feeding. The expenses in 2013 were 912 919 CZK, in 2014 dropped to 845 368 CZK and in 2015 increased to 1 213 190 CZK. The cost of one feeding day per cattle in 2013 was 28,10 CZK, in 2014 decreased to 26,02 CZK and in 2015 increased to 37,35 CZK.
The revenues were affected by the sale of cattle for slaughter. In 2013 was sold 21 pieces of cattle for a total amount of 545 040 CZK, in 2014 was sold 32 pieces of bulls in the total value of 977 643 CZK and in 2015 36 pieces of bulls in the total amount of 867 885,60 CZK. The sales of slaughter units in the total amount of revenue in 2013 did the share of 68,61 %, in 2014 increased to 72,25 % and in 2015 decreased to 59,20 %. In 2015 was the receipt share from slaughter bulls of 30 % based on the sale of alive bulls to Austria. Total revenues in 2013 were 823 517 CZK, in 2014 increased by 39 % to 1 353 080 CZK and in 2015 increased by 7 % to 1 466 062 CZK.
The Profit was calculated in 2013 as a loss in the value of 89 402 CZK. In the subsequent years there was a profit. In 2014 profit in the amount of 507 712 CZK and in 2015 the profit decreased to 252 872 CZK. The profit ratio in 2013 amounted to a negative value - 10 %, in 2014 increased to 60 % and in 2015 dropped to 21 %.

In the chapters of the second part of the dissertation, there are methods used for rating the environment in which the pursued company works, financial state of the company, economic efficiency of the planned investment scheme, and the value of the company. The closing part offers some suggestion and recommendation of the implementation team, describes responsibility of the individual members, and gives some advice on the implementation of the planned investment scheme.

The analysis will be conducted using an econometric model based on the definition of Heckscher-Ohlin theorem.
In the theoretical part of the thesis there will be described the Heckscher-Ohlin model and theorems connected with this model which represents theoretical extension of the model itself.
In the analytical part there will be created an econometric model based on which will be examine the validity of the Heckscher-Ohlin theorem for economic relations between the European Union and its trading partners.

The first part of the work includes general charasteristic of sugar beet with detailed description of its attributes and importance, its quality, realization of sugar beet together with an economy of suger beet growing. It contains sugar industry development in the Czech Republic and technology of sugar beet process for sugar and bioethanol production. Also results of 2014 a 2015 campaign and future vision situation after 2017 is included. The third part of the thesis deals with sugar consumers and a foreign trade of sugar. The own part of the work focuses on sugar beet cost and rentability of sugar beet growing and sugar or bioethanol production. Also an impact of selected variables on sugar consumption is analyzed.

The thesis aims to suggest solutions, which could lead to an increase of employment in the Czech Republic. The practical part describes the progression of employment in the Czech Republic and analyzes labour perspectives according to education level, social status, and biological attributes of the population. Furthermore, the paper explores the employment development prognosis in the Czech Republic until 2020. Outcomes, recommendations, and comparison with the main thesis objectives form the last part of this diploma thesis.

The invasion of plants and animals species are considered as one of the main danger for diversity of natural ecosystems worldwide. With destruction of habitats represent the main reason of the current global wave of taxa extinctions. The obviousness of biological invasions are financial costs in different branches connected with their prevention and liquidation.
The main purpose of this master thesis was to evaluate the economic impacts of invasion of the selected invasive species, concretely Grand hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum), Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera), Giant goldenrod and Canadian (Solidago gigantea and canadensis) and also Japanese knotweed, Giant knotweed and Bohemian knotweed (Reynoutria japonica, sachalinensis and × bohemica). As an area of interest was Třeboňsko chosen, where the economic impact of these invasive species based on the results of field investigation was evaluated with in cooperation with an owners of the affected land. Also, ecosystem damage were registered and total financial damage was estimated.

One of the priorities not only of active employment politics of Czech Republic is employing people with a disability. State social system provides a complex support for these people in their difficult situation. If this system is supposed to cover their basic problem, it has to find the best ways to help disabled people to become independent. The necessary presumption is employing a particular person. Protected labor market was established within Czech Republic's social system, which should not be subjected to strong competitive forces or competitive forces within businesses, but is completely dependent on government subsidies. The process of disabled people's return to the free labor market is however a concept that requires a cooperation from the government, disabled people themselves and also the employers. The thesis deals with the development of legislation in Czech Republic related to employing disabled people. It rates the efficiency of already established measures and a way of creating a motivation for employers, who employ or are obligated to employ people with disabilities.

There will be two suggested scenarios of a possible development and the first is possible to be marked as a pessimistic one and the second an optimistic one. The pessimistic scenario will continue to develop the status quo that is heading for a further limitation of economic cooperation. The optimistic one will take into account a gradual releasing from the sanctions and a cooperation improvement and it will discuss a possible progress of mutual economic relations.

The goal of this thesis is to conclude the Active Employment Policy, its tools, advantages and disadvantages and to find an effective solution. The Issue of Unemployment is described continuing with new methods and their utilization in the Czech Republic and then in the Vysocina Region.
One of the biggest issues is a fact that nowadays do not exist any evaluations of the results of tools of effectivity which leads to creating a bias in their benefits for the society. A big part of the state budget goes into expenses of the Active Employment Policy, nevertheless it is not known their progress.
Consistent analyses and controls of using these tools described in this thesis might lead to a solution but another issue can be showed up, e.g. Act No. 101/2000 Coll., on the Protection of Personal Data. It can be theoretically contacted that some of the tools and methods are not as effective as the society needs, on the other hand it is hard to substantiate the real results.

The first part explains the theoretical background of procedures and methods that are subsequently applied in practice, as described in the second part. The paper focused in particular on the finincial analysis of the company and on determining the company’s financial standing. The financial standing is finally evaluated using indicators which were chosen very carefully and the importance of which is analyzed in the theoretical part of the paper. The financial analysis was done for five successive years that provide at least partial notion of the company development in the past. Having considered total situation the paper goes on with the proposal of a short-term financial plan striving to outline the direction the company should follow in the next year.

The issue of energy saving building is a current topic of today. The increasing costs of operating buildings reduce economic efficiency of the organization operations. A large part of the operating cost is energy cost. An effective tool for improving the energy performance of buildings is an EPC method. The implementation of energy projects through EPC is offered by Energy Services Company. This thesis evaluates the economic efficiency of the project implemented by the EPC and analyses its risk factors. The subject of EPC project is modernisation of an energy sector of a hospital building. The economic efficiency of the project is interpreted on the basis of economic indicators Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and Profitability Index. There was also performed Monte Carlo simulation supported by Oracle Crystal Ball software within the analysis of risk factors for the project.

The theoretical part deals with the history and development of passive houses, application of natural materials, sustainable resources of energy and indicators for the evaluation of economic efficiency. The practical part describes passive and standard house. On the standard house, there is processed financial plan. Reference objects are compared, followed by evaluation of the return on the additional costs of the passive house.
