Abstract:

AbstractDuring the recent decade a lot of research has been focused on identification of the importance of regional airport for the local economy and the measuring and predicting of the airport’s efficiency. With regard to individual airport planning it turns out that airports are not free in the optimization of infrastructure due the need to comply international aviation standards and recommended practices, one the one hand, and the tendency of air transportation system development including aircraft design and airlines’ fleet development, on the other. Furthermore, it is also important to take into account the specificity of each particular airport, including the traffic variability resulting from seasonality, with the airport’s mission geared to it. We found, tha t one of the reasons for the relatively low efficiency of regional airports, given the general trend in the growth in the number of seats for narrow-body aircraft. Likewise, it has been found, that the seasonality of air traffic at regional airports is comparatively high. In addition, this paper spotlights the ways the theoretical model of returns to scale affects the efficiency of the apron of the regional airport and briefly discusses the different interpretations of the definition of regional airport.

Abstract:

The installation of a voluntary milking system – automatic milking robot – leads to numerous changes in the milking process for example in breeding and feeding technology on the farm. Due to the robotic milking, the biological hazards are less than past. This modern robotic system helps to harmonize the milking, feeding and relaxing period of the herd, and also makes the compliance with food safety regulations easier. The payback period of this robotic milking technology is relatively high. The main objective of this paper is to find the level of cost changes and the level of benefit changes which is able to reduce the payback period. The sensitivity analysis is applied to find these levels. Under the proper conditions the voluntary milking system is able to increase the competitiveness of dairy farm.

Abstract:

Pandeglang district is the largest soybean producer region in Banten province. Since the last four years, Pandeglang Regency has decreased land area and production. However, the amount of soybean productivity has increased. The ability of farmers to manage and allocate various inputs used in soybean farming affects the production and productivity of soybean and can give an idea of the level of efficiency achieved by farmers. So it is necessary to research whether the application or use of inputs in the process of soybean production has been at technically efficient level or not. Based on these conditions, in this study aims to: know the level of technical efficiency in soybean farming in Pandeglang regency. The basic method used in this research is descriptive method and the location of research is determined intentionally or purposive sampling. Sample selection for soybean farmer respondents was done by simple random sampling method of 77 soybean farmers. The result of the research shows that production factors that significantly affecting soybean production in Pandeglang are wide, fertilizer and insecticide. The average value of farmers' technical efficiency is 0.864. This figure indicates that the average farmers of respondents have reached technical efficiency in soybean production in the research area. the technical efficiency value of the stochastic function with the lowest value 0.6314 and the highest value 0.9599. Factors affecting technical inefficiency are age and training. However, these factors have a positive effect, meaning that both increase the level of technical inefficiency of soybean farming.

Abstract:

A framework is proposed which is aimed at increasing the much needed revenue of the wireless service providers. The model uses the price paid by the wireless users to control the amount of energy consumed and the admission process based on a dynamic spectrum access network. The scheme is based on using a first price auction process with a reserve price to allocate the radio spectrum. It allows an opportunistic access to the white space in a manner that would protect the primary users in the system. The concept of green payment is used to penalise users who require high transmit power and subsidies those who require low transmit power. This work shows that with the proposed green payment in combination with the knowledge of the reserve price, the energy consumed and the delay in an auction based dynamic spectrum access network can be reduced.

Abstract:

Mobile racks are used broadly in warehouse, especially in those with low items and large stock-keeping unit (SKU). However, contraction between storage capacity and rack efficiency may restrict the usage of mobile racks. Such an example in medicine industry was offered in this paper. Using Witness simulation Software, a model has been developed for medicine warehouse with mobile rack system. Simulations have been executed to analyze rack efficiency in five different scenarios. All scenarios embodied more or less low efficiency and long line in front of buffers. Results indicated that efficiency relies on policies of order-picking and space allocation. It can also be concluded that the minority items of small quantities and low frequency may decide the performance of the whole system.

The study has made an attempt on resource use and economic efficiency of cucumber production under poly-house farming and open field farming. Primary data collected by using purposive sampling technique from selected districts. Sample of 50 farmers (25 Poly-house farmers and 25 Open field farmers) was taken from each district on the basis of availability. Secondary data was collected from Horticulture Department. For data analysis statistical tools average, percentage and Linear Cobb-Douglas Production Function was used. The study found that the yield of cucumber was more under poly-house farming as compare to open field farming system. The reason behind this was long harvesting period and more number of fruits per plant under poly-house farming conditions. The data specifies higher net returns per acre of cucumber under poly-house farming over open field farming, which implicit poly-house farming not only highly profitable but also economically viable as compared to open field farming in study area.

Cellulose fiberous adsorbent (CCCF) was prepared from sugacane agasse by coating chitosan on the fiber surface. The chitosan layer coated on the cellulose fiber enhanced adsorption to Cd2+ and Zinc2+. High efficency of the CCCF of removal % for the Cd (II) and Zn (II) was with 93.7 % and 93.0 %, respectively and the adsorption capacity was 2.0 mg/g.

Abstract:

<p>Provisioning smart intelligent transport for vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) depends on dissemination of safety-related messages. The performance of VANET are highly affected due vehicle density, mobility and environmental condition. Recently several research has been under development, the design of a rapid, flexible, efficient and reliable medium access control (MAC) which address the precise constraint of smart intelligent transport system in the highly dynamic VANET environment. Extensive survey carried out in this work shows TDMA (Time division medium access) based MAC approach outperform carrier sense medium access/ collision avoidance CSMA\CA based approach. However, TDMA based approach incurs bandwidth wastages. To utilize bandwidth more efficiently cognitive radio (CR) technique is adopted for designing efficient MAC. However, the existing CR model incurs computation overhead and is not evaluated under different environmental condition such as rural, highway and urban (RHU). To overcome research challenges, this work present efficient decentralized distributed MAC (DMAC) that minimize collision and maximize throughput. Experiment are conducted to evaluate the performance of DMAC over state-of-art model in terms of throughput, success transmission and collision achieved. The outcome shows significant performance over state-of-model.</p>

Entrepreneurial urban politics not only aim at up-grading a locality for interurban competition. Under the label of New Public Management, they also remodel the city administration according to economic criteria of efficency. As a result, the political arena for urban social movements is undergoing severe changes. Abstract:

The treatment of landfill leachate by Fenton process was carried out in a batch mode. The effect of operating conditions such as reaction time, pH, dosage of H2O2 and [H2O2]/[Fe2+] molar ratio and temperature on the efficacy of Fenton process was investigated. It is demonstrated that Fenton’s reagent can effectively degrade leachate organics in 30 min. The optimal conditions were pH was 3, dosage of H2O2 was 2 times of theoretical stoichiometry, [H2O2]/[Fe2+] molar ratio was 5, temperature influence the removal efficency relatively small compared to other factors.

Polyaniline was synthetized by reversed-phase microemulsion method and 3-oxa-diglycolamide was synthetized by our laboratory. The factors effecting on adsorption were studied. It shows good adsorption performance on Cu2+ion.

Abstract:

This paper highlights settlement behaviour of piled raft foundation by 3D finite element analysis through Plaxis 3D Foundation program. The effects of pile number, pile length, pile layout and pile spacing on the behaviour of piled raft foundation were studied. The numerical results show that: Piled raft foundation has much more efficency to reduce settlement than that of traditional raft foundation. The value of vertical defomation decreases as the result of the increase of pile number, pile length, pile spacing and vice versa. Pile layout has significant effect on both value and location of maximum settlement of piled raft foundation.

Abstract:

Experiments on chromatography separation are taken for ASP flooding. Mass transfer equation is estabilished and mutiple adsorption factor is obtained. Mutiple adsorption factor is used to analyze the experiment results. The Mass transfer property of alkali, surfactant and polymer during single fooding and ASP flooding and the effect on interfacial tension of oil/solution are discussed. The results show the diffrence of hesteris degree of alkali, surfactant and polymer deduce the chromatography separation, lowing the active of ASP flooding. Accoding to interfacial tension, the efficent length of ASP slug is discussed.

Abstract:

Electric smart chair merupakan suatu alat yang digunakan untuk membantu petugas PT. KAI dalam hal penarikan dan pengecekan tiket penumpang kereta api sehingga waktu penarikan dan pengecekan data sesuai dengan database penumbang terbukti lebih efisien dan valid. Sebagai pengembangan alat ini memanfaatkan konsep intellegent transport system untuk mempermudah perbaikan sebuah sistem. Sistem kerja alat ini memanfaatkan beberapa komponen penting seperti barcode scanner, arduino, motor servo dan lampu LED serta Delphi dan Arduino sebagai perangkat lunak pendukungnya. Sistem kerja alat ini dimulai dari penumpang memesan tiket kereta dengan memasukan input nama , NIK KTP dan tujuan untuk mencetak tiket. Selanjutnya penumpang pergi ke stasiun tujuan untuk pemberangkatan. Pada pintu masuk gerbong kereta api, setiap penumpang wajib melakukan verifikasi data tiket dengan menunjukan tiket yang telah dicetak tadi ke barcode scanner. Jika data terverifikasi dengan benar, maka secara otomatis data tersebut memerintahkan untuk membuka kursi ditandai dengan notifikasi nyala lampu LED berwarna hijau. Motor servo sebagai pengerak kursi dengan sudut 90o. Jika data tidak terverifikasi dengan benar, maka kursi tidak akan terbuka. Sehingga memungkinkan tidak adanya penumpang yang ilegal, penumpang duduk sesuai nomor kursi yang telah dipesan, dan jumlah penumpang tidak melebihi batas. Selanjutnya, jika penumpang sudah sampai ditempat tujuan setelah 10 menit penumpang turun secara otomatis tempat duduk tadi akan tertutup sendiri.
