Résumé La réflexion sur le travail constitue la pierre angulaire de l’art poétique de Pablo Neruda. Elle est en effet indissociable d’une interrogation sur la place du poète dans la cité et elle est aussi l’occasion d’une mise en cause des pouvoirs de représentation du langage : si Neruda prend acte de l’écart entre le mot et la chose, il affirme néanmoins la nécessité du travail pour combler cet écart. Enfin, les métaphores artisanales et ouvrières qu’il décline sont généralement l’occasion d’un engagement polémique et d’un dialogue avec la tradition.

Pierre angulaire de toute relation d’échange, la confiance a suscité depuis longtemps l’engouement des chercheurs et des praticiens. Dans le contexte de l’achat sur Internet, la question de la confiance se pose avec plus d’acuité. En effet, les problèmes de fraude auxquels s’ajoute une virtualité totale des échanges découragent plus d’un consommateur à acheter via ce canal. Les vendeurs en ligne gagneraient donc à réfléchir sur les moyens susceptibles d’instaurer la confiance vis-à-vis de leurs sites. L’objectif de cet article est d’identifier, à partir d’une étude qualitative exploratoire, les facteurs déterminant la confiance lors d’un achat en ligne. Ces facteurs sont présentés tel qu’ils sont perçus et appréhendés par les consommateurs .

Ancré dans une collecte de données auprès de 16 projets d’infrastructures majeures travaillant à distance, en contexte pandémique et en mode collaboratif, cet article soutient que le maintien de tensions multiples est une pierre angulaire de la collaboration et une pratique prometteuse pour la « nouvelle normalité » organisationnelle. Aussi, nous démontrons que l'engagement avec les parties prenantes se déroule à l'intérieur d'un espace permettant d'exprimer et maintenir l'ambiguïté entre les intérêts et objectifs respectifs, le tout créant un effet véloce vers le succès perçu du projet. Ces données ont émergé de deux années de recherche sur le terrain d’un des cinq plus grands donneurs d’ordres au Québec. Cet article contribue au débat sur les tensions inhérentes aux collaborations dans un contexte multiparadoxal tout en ajoutant des pistes de pratiques organisationnelles en contexte de crise et postcrise.

L’articulation de la lecture et la production des textes est la pierre angulaire de l’apprentissage du français langue étrangère (FLE). En effet, savoir lire des textes ne suffit pas. C’est sur la base des épreuves écrites que l’on évalue la réussite de l’apprentissage des apprenants. Être capable de mobiliser des acquis de la lecture pour produire des textes de manière autonome est à la fois une finalité et une condition sine qua non pour la réussite scolaire. Concevoir la lecture et la production écrite dans une perspective articulée s’avère donc une nécessité. L’objectif de cet article est de montrer comment la compétence de la compréhension et la compétence de la production de l’écrit se servent mutuellement et que le développement de la dimension culturelle en FLE sert à cette articulation.

Abstract:

La finalité du traitement de données pourrait être la pierre angulaire de leur qualification juridique, notamment lorsqu’il s’agit de recourir à ces données dans un contexte relatif à la santé. En effet, selon leur finalité, les traitements de données sont susceptibles de générer des informations qui se distinguent des données traitées en entrée. Ainsi, la nature des données traitées évolue à mesure que le processus de traitement est déployé. Cette réalité nous invite à la réflexion, autour de deux approches : toujours en considération de leur finalité, les traitements de données pourraient conduire soit à un élargissement, soit à un dépassement de la notion de données de santé. Concernant la première hypothèse, notre démonstration focalise son attention sur le cas des interfaces cerveau-machine. En effet, ces technologies poursuivent une finalité anthropomorphique qui renouvelle la question de la distinction entre les personnes et les choses, de sorte que certaines données purement techniques pourraient hypothétiquement recevoir les qualifications de données personnelles et de santé. Concernant la seconde hypothèse, notre démarche vise à élargir l’ouverture des données réutilisées aux fins de l’intérêt général en matière de santé. Dans la mesure où les traitements de données sont susceptibles de générer des informations sans rapport avec les données traitées en entrée, il apparaît que certaines données sans rapport avec la santé pourraient néanmoins présenter un intérêt dans ce domaine.

Parmi les différents niveaux d’innovation, le comportement innovant au travail des employés a été positionné comme étant la pierre angulaire de l’innovation organisationnelle (Janssen et al., 2004). En effet, cette forme d’innovation est cruciale pour la réussite des entreprises de services et a fait l’objet d’étude de la part de nombreux chercheurs (Yuan et Woodman, 2010). L’objectif de cette étude est d’améliorer notre compréhension des antécédents et des conditions favorables à l’innovation individuelle au sein des entreprises. D’après Yuan et Woodman, (2010), les facteurs individuels n’influencent pas à eux seuls l’innovation individuelle. D’autres facteurs tels que l’organisation, les collègues et l’équipe de travail, affectent également le comportement innovant au travail. Nous avons analysé l’influence des pratiques de ressources humaines à haute implication et du climat organisationnel sur le comportement innovant au travail des employés d’entreprises de service, en l’occurrence de banques au Sénégal et en Turquie. Nous en avons conclu que ces deux construits influencent le comportement innovant au travail des employés et que le climat organisationnel médiatise partiellement la relation « pratiques de ressources humaines / comportement innovant au travail des employés ».

Abstract:

RÉSUMÉL'objet de la présente étude était de comparer l'élasticité articulatoire passive des chevilles chez les hommes de 21 à 39 ans par rapport aux hommes du troisième âge (64–87 ans). A cet effet, on a utilisé un système de torsion mécanique pour mesurer le déplacement angulaire et le degré de résistance pendant une lente rotation de la cheville (6 degrés/seconde) allant de 10 degrés de flexion plantaire à 10 degrés de flexion dorsale (FD). La torsion passive(Nm) et l'élasticité passive (Nm/degré) ont été mesurées au point mort, à 5 et à 10 degrés de FD. On a constaté que la torsion passive augmentait de façon non-linéaire à mesure que la cheville avançait vers FD. Les valeurs de torsion passive se sont avérées beaucoup plus basses dans le groupe âgé (p < .05), mais on n'a relevé aucune différence entre les deux groupes dans les mesures d'élasticité passive. Les deux variables ont donné lieu à des variations de plus grande amplitude dans le groupe âgé. Nous avons conclu que, dans la limite des mouvements testés, il n'y a aucune preuve que l'élasticité articulatoire des chevilles diminue avec l'âge.

De nos jours, de multiples dispositifs et plateformes numériques offrent aux internautes l’opportunité de dépasser les contraintes de co-présence dans l’espace physique et de se rapprocher les uns des autres en fonctions de leurs points d’intérêts et affinités. Néanmoins, au sein de ces interactions numériques, les enjeux sont différents selon le type de participant. Dans le cas des plateformes de diffusion de sessions de jeux vidéo comme Twitch, pour l’instance de production représentée par le joueur, l’enjeu ne se limite pas à la production de contenu. En effet, le joueur doit animer sa diffusion afin d’offrir non seulement du contenu vidéoludique mais également des échanges interactionnels aux spectateurs. Bien que le partage d’une passion commune amène les divers acteurs à se réunir autour de ces sessions, il existe un enjeu économique qui dépend des abonnements des spectateurs à la chaîne du joueur. Dès lors, en tant que pierre angulaire de cette pratique, le joueur déploie des stratégies pour tisser un lien de confiance avec ses spectateurs. Dans la présente étude, nous nous concentrons sur les procédures discursives qui lui permettent de co-construire et faire perdurer le lien social à travers une communauté en ligne dans le cadre d’une pratique vidéoludique.

Abstract:

Introduction: évaluer la tolérance du méthotrexate dans le traitement de la PR au BéninMatériels et méthodes: étude transversale descriptive et analytique portant sur les patients sur suivis dans le service de rhumatologie du CNHU-HKM de Cotonou pour une polyarthrite rhumatoïde et traitée par méthotrexate. Le diagnostic de PR a été retenu sur la base des critères EULAR/ACR 2010. Nous avons évalué la tolérance des patients face au méthotrexate à travers les paramètres socio-démographiques, cliniques, paracliniques. Les données recueillies ont été analysé grâce au logiciel Epidata et SPSS17.0.Résultats: quarante- neuf (49) patients souffrant de PR sous méthotrexate ont été évalués. L'âge moyen des patients était de 44,6 ± 14,1 [15-69] et le sex- ratio était de 0,14. Le facteur rhumatoïde était présent chez 88%, les anticorps anti-CCP était présent chez 69.20%. Le méthotrexate était donné à la dose de 7,5 à 20mg/semaine. Seuls 4 patients utilisaient la forme IM de méthotrexate. Quarante et un 41patients (83,67%) ont présenté au moins un effet sous méthotrexate. Les principales complications cliniques identifiées étaient hépato-digestives (46,9%), générales (38,8%) cutanéo-phanériennes (20,4%), pleuro-pulmonaires (10,2%). Au plan paraclinique, il s’agissait surtout d’effets hématologiques (77,6%), hépatiques (16,3%) et pulmonaire (6,1%). L’arrêt du méthotrexate a été décidé chez 7 patients. La diminution de la dose a été opérée chez 3 patients tandis qu’un recours à un changement de la voie a été fait chez 4 patients. les PR séronégatives développaient plus de complications graves que celles séropositives sans différence statistiquement significative entre les 2 groupes ( p>0,05). Conclusion: Le méthotrexate reste la pierre angulaire du traitement de la PR au Bénin. Cependant son utilisation peut être à l’origine d’effets secondaires souvent mineurs qu’il faudra connaître et gérer afin d’optimiser l’observance du traitement

ABSTRACT: By most standards, Ghana can, prudently enough, be defined as one of the most politically stable nations on the African continent, which in itself is, a prerequisite for economic prosperity. On the one hand, this West African country possesses mineral resources, gold and diamonds in particular, hence its former name of Gold Coast, and on the other, it succeeded to establish a democratic tradition after long years of political upheavals. There is an expectation, then, that a momentous time like the one of oil discovery in 2007 would mean a quicker and steady economic growth and a better quality of life for Ghanaians. But this hydrocarbon potential does not produce wealth in itself, good economic management does. The present paper sets out to examine the impact the black gold had on national economy in Ghana, and by extension, the effect on its social life. It endeavours to inquire into the extent to which oil discovery responded to Ghanaian expectations and whether the administrations of Atta Mills and later Mahama exploited this new energy in a way that benefited more than just a small elite. Findings tend to suggest that weak economic management in oil industry, predominantly characterized by a lack of transparency over oil revenues, in addition to a lack of discernment as to prioritized sectors, agriculture in particular, the cornerstone of national economy in Ghana, led to public disillusion. RÉSUMÉ : Selon la plupart des normes, le Ghana peut, assez prudemment, être défini comme l'un des pays les plus politiquement stables du continent Africain, ce qui en soi est une condition préalable à la prospérité économique. D'une part, ce pays de l’Afrique de l’ouest possède des ressources minérales, en particulier l'or et les diamants, d'où son ancien nom de Côte de l'Or, et d'autre part, il a réussi à établir une tradition démocratique après de longues années de bouleversements politiques. On s'attend donc à ce qu'un moment aussi important que celui de la découverte du pétrole en 2007 se traduise par une croissance économique plus rapide et régulière ainsi qu’une meilleure qualité de vie pour les Ghanéens. Mais ce potentiel d'hydrocarbures ne produit pas de richesse en soi, c’est sa bonne gestion économique qui le fait. Le présent travail vise à examiner l'impact de l'or noir sur l'économie nationale du Ghana et, par extension, son effet sur sa vie sociale. Il s'efforce de déterminer dans quelle mesure la découverte du pétrole a répondu aux attentes du pays et si les administrations d'Atta Mills et, plus tard, de Mahama ont exploité cette nouvelle énergie d'une manière qui a profité à plus qu'une petite élite. Les résultats tendent à suggérer que la mauvaise gestion économique de l'industrie pétrolière, caractérisée principalement par un manque de transparence sur les revenus pétroliers, en plus d'un manque de discernement quant aux secteurs prioritaires, l'agriculture en particulier, pierre angulaire de l'économie nationale au Ghana, a conduit à une désillusion de la population.

Abstract:

Social cognition is the way in which people process, store, and use information in social contexts to explain and predict their own behavior and that of others. The early acquisition of socio-cognitive skills is the building block for successful and adaptive functioning in various domains of life. Positive parenting has been found to be beneficial in the development of social cognition. However, the effect of positive parenting practices on social cognition in early childhood in the English Region of Cameroon has not been previously investigated. The present study examines the effect of positive parenting practices (support, stimulation, structure and positive discipline) on social cognition in early childhood. It is assumed that positive parenting practices have significant effects on the social cognition in early childhood. Mowder (2005) Parent Developmental Theory (PDT) and Tchombe (2019) Mediated Mutual Reciprocal theory (MMR) were used to support this study. The predictive correlational design was adopted for the study. The sample consisted of 265 parents having children between 1-4 years old. Positive parenting practices were measured using the CECPA-Questionnaire and social cognition in early childhood using the ESC-Inventory. Data was analyzed using the linear regression. Revealed that positive parenting practices have a strong effect on the quality of social cognition in early childhood. Specifically, the findings showed the positive effects of parental support, stimulation, positive discipline, and structure, on early child social-cognition. This study points to the implication of addressing and enhancing positive parenting as a quality of preventing or reducing social-cognition challenges. Counsellors and Psychologists should focus on educating parents about the importance of being supportive, structured, affectionate, sensitive, responsive and communicative with children. Positive parenting practices and positive discipline is recommended of parents to help children grow up with positive behaviours for proper adaptation in the environment. La cognition sociale est la manière dont les gens traitent, stockent et utilisent les informations dans des contextes sociaux pour expliquer et prédire leur propre comportement et celui des autres. L’acquisition précoce de compétences sociocognitives est la pierre angulaire d’un fonctionnement réussi et adaptatif dans divers domaines de la vie. La parentalité positive s’est avérée bénéfique pour le développement de la cognition sociale. Cependant, aucune étude n’a encore été menée sur l’effet des pratiques parentales positives sur la cognition sociale dans la petite enfance dans la région anglophone du Cameroun. La présente étude examine l’effet des pratiques parentales positives (soutien, stimulation, structure et discipline positive) sur la cognition sociale dans la petite enfance. Cette étude part du principe que les pratiques parentales positives ont des effets significatifs sur la cognition sociale dans la petite enfance. La théorie du développement parental (TDP) de Mowder (2005) et la théorie de la réciprocité mutuelle médiatisée (Mediated Mutual Reciprocal theory) de Tchombe (2019) ont été utilisées pour étayer cette étude. Le modèle de recherche corrélationnelle prédictive a été adopté pour l’étude. L’échantillon était composé de 265 parents ayant des enfants âgés de 1 à 4 ans. Les pratiques parentales positives ont été mesurées à l’aide du questionnaire complet sur la parentalité dans la petite enfance (CECPAQuestionnaire) et la cognition sociale dans la petite enfance à l’aide de l’inventaire sur la cognition sociale précoce (Early Social Cognition Inventory). Les données ont été analysées à l’aide de la méthode de régression linéaire. Les résultats révèlent que les pratiques parentales positives ont un effet important sur la qualité de la cognition sociale dans la petite enfance. Les résultats ont notamment montré les effets positifs du soutien parental, de la stimulation, de la discipline positive et de la structure sur la cognition sociale des jeunes enfants. Cette étude souligne l’importance d’aborder et d’améliorer l’éducation parentale positive en tant que qualité permettant de prévenir ou de réduire les problèmes liés à la cognition sociale. Les conseillers et les psychologues devraient s’efforcer d’éduquer les parents sur l’importance du soutien, de la structure, de l’affection, de la sensibilité, de l’écoute et de la communication avec les enfants. Il est recommandé aux parents d’adopter des pratiques parentales et une discipline positive pour aider les enfants à grandir en adoptant des comportements positifs afin de s’adapter correctement au milieu dans lequel ils vivent.

In this article we show that the probability for an electron tunneling a rectangular potential barrier depends on its angle of incidence measured with respect to the normal line. The majority of the studies in the field consider a one-dimensional tunneling of an electron of mass in a potential barrier along the -axis. Using a two-dimensional approach, we observed that the angle of incidence of the electron influences the probability of tunneling.

Abstract:

Welding process is joining method which is extensively utilized in shipbuilding and automotive industry. Distortion is a classic problem encountered during the welding process which always occurs in welding processes. Distortion on weld joint involves many parameters that influence such as properties of materials and welding parameters. The objective of this work is to investigate effect of various processes of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) on angular distortion in low carbon steel weld joints. To obtain optimum parameters of angular distortion, the effect various welding parameter is analysed using Taguchi Method. In this work, the effect of groove type, welding current and root opening are investigated for determining angular distortion. Taguchi method with L9 orthogonal array is utilized to analysed contribution for each parameter. ANOVA results revealed that the welding current the significant contribution parameter, on the other hand root opening shows minimum contribution to determine angular distortion value. Optimum parameter is obtained with groove type, welding current and root opening is X, 75A and 3 mm, respectively. Welding current parameter is considered the most significant contribution to determine for angular distortion effect due to has the highest contribution (50.04 %) than the other parameters groove type and root opening, with contribution value 21.76 %, 2.38%, respectively. Moreover, hardness test result on weld joint shows that X type groove has maximum hardness number than the other groove type.

Abstract:

At present, fomesafen is widely used to control weeds in Vigna angularis fields. To explore the effect of fomesafen (FSA) on the nutritional value and amino acids of Vigna angularis, the protein, fat, water, ash, sand yield, and hundred-grain weight of Vigna angularis were measured using Vigna angularis sprayed with or without FSA. A non-targeted metabonomics and a high-throughput targeted amino acid analysis of Vigna angularis were performed using the metabonomics technology of liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS). The results showed that the protein (23.39 ± 0.16%) and fat (0.49 ± 0.05%) in sprayed Vigna angularis (Z-2-GS-2) were significantly different from the protein (19.88 ± 0.05%) and fat (0.71 ± 0.06%) in non-sprayed Vigna angularis (GS), indicating that a certain amount of FSA could promote the synthesis of protein in Vigna angularis and inhibit the formation of fat. A total of 63 metabolites with significant differences were screened from the non-targeted metabonomic analysis, including isoprene lipids, carboxylic acids, organic oxygen compounds, and carboxylic acid derivatives. Seventeen metabolic pathways were enriched. Five metabolic pathways with significant differences were screened according to p < 0.05, including alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid metabolism, tryptophan metabolism, and arginine biosynthesis, indicating that FSA had a significant effect on amino acid metabolism in Vigna angularis. Through targeted amino acid analysis, 21 different amino acids in Vigna angularis were accurately determined qualitatively and quantitatively. Among them, the contents of Asp and Glu increased under the influence of FSA, while the contents of Phe, His, and Ile decreased, which proved that FSA would cause the sweet taste of Vigna angularis to increase, reducing the flavor. Use of FSA will lead to the increase in protein content, ash content, and sand yield of Vigna angularis, while also leading to the decrease of fat content, water content, and hundred-grain weight. The use of FSA will also have a particular impact on the nutritional value, health care efficacy, and taste of Vigna angularis. The results of this study provide new ideas for follow-up research on the rational use of FSA in the field of Vigna angularis and the development of Vigna angularis health food.

Abstract:

Light containing twisted phase structures, i.e. light carrying orbital angular momenta (OAM), when propagating inside ring-core fibres leads to a complex interference dynamics resulting in the fundamental self-imaging phenomenon known as the Talbot effect in the angular domain. We study the effect in the classical and quantum optics domain and show that it can be used to implement higher-order beams splitters. Interestingly, such beam splitting operations become more compact the higher the splitting ratio. In addition, we show that a similar self-imaging effect appears for whispering gallery modes carrying OAM in step-index multi-mode fibres, which enables the application of the angular Talbot effect in off-the-shelf components. Finally, we extend the study of the angular Talbot effect through combing it with its Fourier-analogue, i.e. the Talbot effect in orbital angular momentum space. Thereby we implement the generalized angle-orbital-angular-momentum Talbot effect, which enables full control over the angular intensity distribution as well as the OAM spectrum of the light field. Moreover, the complex self-imaging dynamics can be used to sort OAM light fields, in principle, without any crosstalk and, thus, can be seen a promising method for OAM multiplexing schemes.

Abstract:

The optical rotational Doppler effect occurs when vortex beams are scattered by rotating objects and demonstrate the Doppler frequency shifts in scattered beams, which are associated with the optical angular momentum of vortex beams and the relative rotating angular velocity. Here, we investigate the rotational Doppler effect of a rotating vector beam in its tight focusing and find that similar Doppler frequency shifts arise when the polarization order and vortex charge satisfy some specific relations. We note that the vortex charge is the indispensable parameter in the rotational Doppler effect of the vector vortex beam. Nonetheless, the sign and magnitude of the frequency shift are only determined by the angular frequency of the rotating beam and are irrelevant to the vortex charge of the beam. In addition, the on-axis energy flow and spin angular momentum in the focal plane can also be well modulated, accompanying the rotational Doppler effect of the vector vortex beam. Our results may be applied to an optical micro-manipulation, especially for some kinds of microparticles which are sensitive to frequency changes.

Discrete point cloud data from unmanned aerial vehicle laser scanning (UAV-LS) can provide information on the three-dimensional structure of a forest, the leaf area index (LAI) at the landscape or sample plot scales, the distribution of the vertical forest structure at a fine resolution, and other information. The retrieved parameters, however, may be affected in a non-negligible way by the inclusion of scan angle information. In this study, we introduced a relational model that encompasses the angular effect, predicted the mechanism of this effect, and extracted the vegetation structure indices that the angular effect might influence. Second, we quantified the direct and indirect effects, particularly the magnitude of the angular effect in broadleaf forests, and used mediated effects to investigate the components and processes that influence the angular effect. The findings demonstrate that some of the differences between the LAIe extracted by UAV-LS and the Decagon LAIe considering the angular effect of UAV-LS can be explained by adjusting physical LiDAR parameters (aerial height, laser divergence fraction, and scanning angle) and vertical forest structure variables. Along continuous and closed forest vertical gradients, the indirect angle impact is negative for the upper canopy and positive for the understory. Three-dimensional vegetation measurements were created using multiangle LiDAR data. In conclusion, this article (1) addresses the angular effect in UAV-LS; and (2) discusses how the angular effect affects 3D vegetation parameters such as LAIe, demonstrates the nonlinear trend of the angular effect, and demonstrates how multiangle LiDAR data can be used to obtain 3D vegetation parameters. This study serves as a reference for reducing the uncertainty in simulations of the angular effect and vegetation light transmission, in addition to the uncertainty in analyses of the vegetation characteristics determined by UAV-LS (e.g., the uncertainty of LAIe).

AbstractThis study examined the effects of a rider on the angular momentum and angular velocity of the jumping horse, particularly during the flight phase. Sagittal plane video recordings were digitized of eight horses jumping a vertical fence (1 m high) under two conditions: Loose and Ridden. An experienced rider rode the horses during the Ridden condition. Using appropriate segmental inertial data for the horse and rider, angular momentum and angular velocity were calculated for the Loose and Ridden conditions. Estimates of the various rider effects on angular momentum and angular velocity were obtained by comparison of Loose and Ridden conditions and examination of the contributions of the horse and rider segments to the total angular momentum. The results showed that the rider's effect on angular momentum was significant but that the rider's segmental contribution to the angular momentum of the horse–rider system was minimal. Repeated-measures ANOVA revealed that the rider had a significant effect on the angular momentum and angular velocity of the horse during the flight phase (P<0.01). However, the rider did not have a significant effect on the transfer of angular momentum during the flight. We concluded that the rider's instruction has a greater influence on the horse's motion than the mechanical transfer between rider and horse.

Abstract:

The effects of gravity and an angular velocity profile on the performance of an automatic ball balancer (ABB) are studied in this paper. In order to investigate these effects, a physical model of a Jeffcott rotor with an ABB is adopted in this study, in which gravity as well as the angular acceleration is considered. With the polar coordinates, the non-linear equations of motion are derived by using Lagrange's equation. These equations include gravity, the angular acceleration, and the angular jerk. Based on the equations derived, time responses are computed by using the generalized α method. The effects of gravity on the balancing performance are analysed. For various angular velocity profiles, the ABB performance is also evaluated. The analysis of results shows that the balancing of the rotor with an ABB can be achieved regardless of gravity. It is also shown that a smooth velocity profile results in less vibration compared with a non-smooth velocity profile.

This study investigates the effect of crystal electrons on the angular distribution of channeled protons passing through a thin silicon crystal. The effect of crystal electrons on the 2 MeV proton beam channeled through a thin Si crystal plays an important role in the experimentally observed angular distributions. Using the crystal rainbow effect, we have morphologically compared the experimental and theoretical angular distributions of channeled protons and corresponding rainbow lines, with and without the effect of crystal electrons. Our results demonstrate that the influence of crystal electrons affects the angular focus of the channeled ions in the vicinity of the rainbow lines, which are the envelope of this angular distribution. These findings provide insights into the energy loss mechanisms for protons channeled through thin silicon crystals and can have implications for future studies in ion beam physics.

The vestibular coriolis (or "cross-coupling") effect is traditionally explained by cross-coupled angular vectors, which, however, do not explain the differences in perceptual disturbance under different acceleration conditions. For example, during head roll tilt in a rotating chair, the magnitude of perceptual disturbance is affected by a number of factors, including acceleration or deceleration of the chair rotation or a zero-g environment. Therefore, it has been suggested that linear-angular interactions play a role. The present research investigated whether these perceptual differences and others involving linear coriolis accelerations could be explained under one common framework: the laws of motion in three dimensions, which include all linear-angular interactions among all six components of motion (three angular and three linear). The results show that the three-dimensional laws of motion predict the differences in perceptual disturbance. No special properties of the vestibular system or nervous system are required. In addition, simulations were performed with angular, linear, and tilt time constants inserted into the model, giving the same predictions. Three-dimensional graphics were used to highlight the manner in which linear-angular interaction causes perceptual disturbance, and a crucial component is the Stretch Factor, which measures the "unexpected" linear component.

Angular misalignment is unavoidable in most applications of rolling-element bearings. The goal of this study is to examine the effects of angular misalignment on the running torque of angular contact ball bearings. A computational method to calculate the running torque of misaligned angular contact ball bearings was introduced. Then, the effects of angular misalignment, along with radial and axial loading, on the running torque of angular contact ball bearings were investigated for two representative preloading methods: constant-force preload and constant-displacement preload. The simulation results showed that (1) the angular misalignment, irrespective of bearing loading, significantly increases the angular contact ball bearing running torque when the constant-displacement preload method was implemented, and (2) the angular misalignment has an insignificant effect on the angular contact ball bearing running torque when the constant-force preload method was adopted. Furthermore, an extensive simulation was performed to examine the effect of load-induced angular misalignment on the running torque of angular contact ball bearings implemented in a geared shaft system. The simulation results showed that the radial load-induced angular misalignment requires additional running torque to the actual rotor-bearing systems, especially when using the constant-displacement preload.

We present the design of a magnetic encoder to measure angular position. The proposed encoder includes two Hall sensors in quadrature in a fixed platform. In addition, and over the sensors, there are two permanent magnets in a shaft. The relative motion between the fixed and the movable components generate a voltage variation in the sensors, which serve to generate the approximation of the angular position. We detail the acquisition process and the linearization method, because we consider that these are the most important contributions of this work. Lastly, we show the application of the encoder in the position control of a direct current motor to show the performance of the encoder estimating fast and slow angular position changes.

In this paper, we investigate the spin Hall effect of a polarized Gaussian beam (GB) in a smoothly inhomogeneous isotropic and nonlinear medium using the method of the eikonal-based complex geometrical optics which describes the phase front and cross-section of a light beam using the quadratic expansion of a complex-valued eikonal. The linear complex-valued eikonal terms are introduced to describe the polarization-dependent transverse shifts of the beam in inhomogeneous nonlinear medium which is called the spin Hall effect of beam. We know that the spin Hall effect of beam is affected by the nonlinearity of medium and include two parts, one originates from the coupling between the spin angular momentum and the extrinsic orbital angular momentum due to the curve trajectory of the center of gravity of the polarized GB and the other from the coupling between the spin angular momentum and the intrinsic orbital angular momentum due to the rotation of the beam with respect to the central ray.

Abstract:

We present here a minor modification of our numerical implementation of the Hall effect for the 2D Riemann solver used in Constrained Transport schemes, as described in a former paper. In the previous work, the tests showed that the angular momentum was not conserved during protostellar collapse simulations, with significant impact. By removing the whistler waves speed from the characteristic speeds of non-magnetic variables in the 1D Riemann solver, we were able to improve the angular momentum conservation in our test-case by one order of magnitude, while keeping the second-order numerical convergence of the scheme. We also reproduce the simulations of a previous study with consistent resistivities, the three non-ideal magnetohydrodynamic effects and initial rotation, and agree with their results. In this case, the violation of angular momentum conservation is negligible in regard to the total angular momentum and the angular momentum of the disk.

The effect of angular misalignment between inner and outer raceways on the stiffness characteristics of tapered roller bearings (TRBs) is investigated. A computational procedure is introduced to solve the equations of TRB in the presence of angular misalignment. A dynamic analysis of a spindle supported by TRBs is also performed to investigate the natural frequency behavior by the stiffness variation due to angular misalignment. An extensive simulation demonstrates the effect of angular misalignment on the TRB characteristics such as roller–raceway contact loads, radial and axial displacements, and induced moment load. Computational results show that angular misalignment alters TRB stiffness characteristics and results in the splitting of the spindle natural frequencies by inducing anisotropic behavior of the TRBs. The proposed model and computational procedure are effective in estimating TRB characteristics and thus would aid in selecting TRBs or determining TRB loading conditions in practical applications.

Laser radiation can be resonantly absorbed by electrons executing betatron oscillations in the channel and absorbing angular momentum from the laser. The absorbed angular momentum manifests itself as a strong axial magnetic field (inverse Faraday effect). The magnitude of this magnetic field is calculated and related to the amount of the absorbed energy.

Abstract:

The absorption coefficient of electromagnetic wave propagating through overdense absorbing plasma is calculated by using Fresnel’s formula. Also, the force acting per unit volume of the electron fluid is calculated along z direction. The Fresnel’s formula is reduced in terms of conductivity and angular frequency so that nature of absorption coefficient with respect to conductivity of plasma and angular frequency of wave is studied, with the assumption that conductivity and angular frequency are two independent terms. By keeping conductivity of plasma constant, it is seen that the absorption coefficient is increased with increase in angular frequency and also absorption coefficient has the lowest value for the highest value of conductivity. At constant angular frequency of incidence, the absorption coefficient is decreased with increase in conductivity and also absorption coefficient has the highest value of angular frequency of incidence. Also the nature of force on the plasma is studied by considering that the conductivity of plasma is very large with compare to angular frequency of incident laser. The expression of absorption coefficient is separated into real and imaginary parts, and then plots are studied with respect to these parts. It is found that in both cases, the force on plasma is existed for short in time and distance, and then damps exponentially. Also, the variation of potential with distance is cleared that the potential is shielded within multiple distance of Debye length.

Abstract:

We investigate the spin angular momentum (SAM) of double-index cylindrical vector beams in tight focus. Such a set of beams is a generalization of the conventional cylindrical vector beams since the polarization order is different for the different transverse field components. Based on the Richards-Wolf theory, we obtain an expression for the SAM distribution and show that if the polarization orders are of different parity, then the spin Hall effect occurs in the tight focus, which is there are alternating areas with positive and negative spin angular momentum, despite linear polarization of the initial field. We also analyze the orbital angular momentum spectrum of all the components of the focused light field and determine the overwhelming angular harmonics. Neglecting the weak harmonics, we predict the SAM distribution and demonstrate the ability to generate the focal distribution where the areas with the positive and negative spin angular momentum reside on a ring and are alternating in pairs, or separated in different semicircles. Application areas of the obtained results are designing micromachines with optically driven elements.
