Abstract

The concept of formation in the field of education seems to have a system of earlier and later approaches. In this context, the history of present Turkish Education System has also found meaningful. In order to explain how education system has developed from the past to present, it is useful to see the education system as the most important function in transferring the existing culture for the growth of future generations. All educational systems run by various groups, except for Enderun School, were connected to a system and a contemporary education system was evolved to provide government supervision. In addition, on realization of importance of education in development activities, Ottoman Empire started to focus on innovations in education systems. At the end of 1800s and beginning of 1900s, efforts were made to develop Ottoman Educaton System on permanent basis by using material equipments for learning which had associated to permanent change in educational behavior. It is observed that the state continued efforts to enhance efficiency of educational institutions till the state was powerless and weak during its last periods. Moreover, the evaluation of historical documents revealed that there was a check on study material by the state in the educational institutions. In other words, it was not allowed to teach a book until it is recommended by the state, hence some books were taken out from school. Another important point revealed during anlysis was related to women’ education. Women’s education gained importance parallel to view that every citizen must have educational opportunity.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The republication of Nietzsche’s lectures “On the Future of Our Educational Institutions” invites reconsideration of Nietzsche’s thought on education. Though there is much in these lectures that might appeal to those struggling for the future of the humanities, or for the future of education more generally, I argue against their use in the attempted redemption of the humanities or education. Consideration of “Schopenhauer as Educator”, published two years later, brings out Nietzsche’s growing hostility to education. Education in modernity is a lost cause, Nietzsche argues. It is beyond redemption because (1) true teachers can no longer be found and (2) we are almost incapable of educating ourselves. At best we might attempt to educate ourselves against the age, which includes the challenging task of educating against our selves. From this position, which holds out little hope for the future of education as it is currently configured, if the modern educator has any functionality left, it is to serve as a symptom of decline.

Abstract:
The educational relationship is the substantive way of educational intervention; it is its concrete act. It is identified with the interaction which we establish to perform the activity of educating. In educational relationship we must go from thought to action; we must go from attained and attainable value to effective accomplishment. We have to know what the theory-practice relation is like in each interaction. This work is an analysis focussed in Pedagogy as a discipline which generates knowledge of education. Pedagogy is a discipline whose object of study is education. In Pedagogy, their own, autochthonous, concepts are generated about the meaning of educating and the way of intervening to educate. Pedagogy values each means used in the intervention as educational, adjusting it to the meaning of educating. In this way, a better application to the explanation, understanding and interpretation of educational events and their possibilities of transforming the intervention is achieved. It is the meso-axiological perspective of Pedagogy: understanding each means used in the intervention as a means valued as educational. From Pedagogy it can be based that the educational relationship is the interaction of identities to educate; It is a concept with its own meaning, linked to the meaning of education and, given that the transition from knowledge to action requires concordance between values and feelings in each interaction, the educational relationship becomes the ideal means of educatee-educator interaction.

Abstract:
44 Background: The number and type of oral oncolytic therapy in oncology is expanding rapidly. Oral oncolytics have serious side effect potential and patient education has been shown to reduce adverse events. Pharmacist driven interventions have been shown to safety and adherence. The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNM CCC) initiated and then improved upon a pharmacist driven patient education and consent process for oral oncolytic therapy. Methods: A pharmacist driven education and consent process was initiated at UNM CCC and monitored from August 2016 to October 2018. The intervention initially used a message generated by an order in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to alert the pharmacist of new oral oncolytic prescriptions. Initial uptake by providers was low so education regarding this order was presented to providers. Outpatient pharmacy staff were instructed not to release first fill oral oncolytic prescriptions without notifying the pharmacist educator. Lastly, hematology and oncology fellows notified the pharmacist educator of patients discharged directly from the hospital with a new oncolytic prescription. The metric measured was the percent of patients on oral oncolytic therapy who were educated and consented by the pharmacist for oral oncolytic medications filled at UNM CCC. Statistical analysis included run charts with 95% Confidence Intervals and t-tests with two tails, assuming unequal variation between groups and an alpha of 0.05. Results: The initial monthly education and consent rate was 17.9% followed by 45.5% the following month. This quickly grew to an average of 87.0% (95% CI 55.7-118.2) for the subsequent 15 months which achieved control. Additional changes were made as part of the PDSA cycle which increased the education rate to 95.7% (95% CI 84.4-107.1). These two periods were statistically significantly different (p = 0.0025). Conclusions: A pharmacist driven program for education and consent upon initiation of oral oncolytics is possible and can successfully educate the majority of patients. Future expansions of this program will include ensuring patient adherence and educating patients who fill oral oncolytics outside UNM CCC.
