Abstract:
Based on works of professor B. Bitinas this article analyses educational materials on applying statistical methods in education sciences. The educational materials on applying statistical methods in education sciences can be classified into two groups: methodological group (the application of mathematical statistics in quantitative research) and technological group (computer software for processing quantitative research data). The article analyses application of didactical principles in the methodological group and the technological group. Didactical principles provide direction for learning process and govern contents, methods and organisation of learning. Different didactical principles can be used when preparing educational materials on the applying statistical methods in education as principle of the availability and principle of relation between the theory and practise. Application of statistical methods in education sciences is influenced by technological tools used for processing statistical data. These tools changed from electronic calculating machines (ECM) to modern computers with modern statistical programs. Technological change influences didactical principles applied for preparing educational materials on applying statistical methods in education sciences. The comparative analysis of learning materials on applying statistical methods in education sciences prepared by Professor B. Bitinas shows that the principle of availability was an important principle at the time of the processing statistical data using the ECM. This principle is less important when statistical data is processed using modern statistical computer programs. Didactical principle of the relation between theory and practice was important in the early (the eighth-ninth decade of XX century) and later stages (the twentyfirst century.) Professor B. Bitinas prepared both methodological (the usage of mathematical statistics into quantitative research) and technological (computer software for quantitative research data processing) learning means. The didactical principles in the methodological and technological learning means are different. The principle of the availability and the principle of relation between the theory and practise dominate in the methodological learning means. The principle of systematization and continuity is important in technological learning means.

Abstract:
The ability to incorporate new and Big Data sources and to benefit from emerging technologies such as Web Technologies, Remote Data Collection methods, User Experience Platforms, and Trusted Smart Statistics will become increasingly important in producing and disseminating official statistics. The skills and competencies required to automate, analyse, and optimize such complex systems are often not part of the traditional skill set of most National Statistical Offices. The adoption of these technologies requires new knowledge, methodologies and the upgrading of the quality assurance framework, technology, security, privacy, and legal matters. However, there are methodological challenges and discussions among scholars about the diverse methodical confinement and the wide array of skills and competencies considered relevant for those working with big data at NSOs. This paper develops a Data Science Model for Official Statistics (DSMOS), graphically summarizing the role of data science in statistical business processes. The model combines data science, existing scientific paradigms, and trusted smart statistics, and develops around a restricted number of constructs. We considered a combination of statistical engineering, data engineering, data analysis, software engineering and soft skills such as statistical thinking, statistical literacy and specific knowledge of official statistics and dissemination of official statistics products as key requirements of data science in official statistics. We then analyse and discuss the educational requirements of the proposed model, clarifying their contribution, interactions, and current and future importance in official statistics. The DSMOS was validated through a quantitative method, using a survey addressed to experts working at the European statistical systems. The empirical results show that the core competencies considered relevant for the DSMOS include acquisition and processing capabilities related to Statistics, high-frequency data, spatial data, Big Data, and microdata/nano-data, in addition to problem-solving skills, Spatio-temporal modelling, machine learning, programming with R and SAS software, Data visualisation using novel technologies, Data and statistical literacy, Ethics in Official Statistics, New data methodologies, New data quality tools, standards and frameworks for official statistics. Some disadvantages and vulnerabilities are also addressed in the paper.

Abstract:
The article covers fundamental challenges to statistics that affect activities related to the collection, processing, analysis and interpretation of information about socio-economic phenomena and processes. The paper focuses on the staffing situation in scientific, educational and management spheres in modern Russia. According to the authors, there is currently a shortage of personnel with basic education in statistics. This is caused, on one hand, by the fact that the number of educational institutions that train these specialists, and in fact have relevant departments, is decreasing, on the other hand – by the process of aging and irreplaceable natural loss of scientists, teachers and statisticians. Decline in professional competence is closely linked to the low and declining statistical literacy of the population, which also leads to disorientation while solving household tasks. No less urgent challenge to contemporary statistics is the distrust of the population in statistical data, the accusation of deliberately concealing the truth and sugarcoating the reality. This reaction can result from the population’s lack of motivation to study and understand the actual processes taking place – given the availability of a wide range of statistical data and methodological explanations. This resulted, in the authors’ opinion, in a new challenge which has spread amidst almost unlimited access to the Internet for various population strata and the free formation of content in their social networks and pages. External and internal political manipulation is often carried out through the dissemination of fake information, which is also a serious challenge to the institute of state statistics. The article concludes that an impartial consideration of the challenges that domestic statistics is facings, development of directions for addressing the issues encountered and promotion of genuine achievements (with media coverage) allow to tackle the adverse impact on the public of misinformation and false information about socio-economic phenomena in the country as a whole and its regions.

Abstract:
The growth of data volumes due to the intensive development of information tech-nology creates a need for highly efficient methods of data processing and analysis for the effective management of various types of organizations, as well as for strategic planning and market competitiveness. Such methods of data processing and analysis are methods of data mining. One of the most promising areas of application of data mining methods is in the education sector. The development of e-learning systems and the introduction of digital technologies into the traditional educational process leads to the emergence of large amounts of information, which are studied by the intellectual analysis of educa-tional data (IAED), a scientific discipline related to the application of data mining meth-ods to information produced by educational institutions. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to improve the quality of the educational process by identifying hidden pat-terns in the array of educational data, and the need for further development of this area in modern conditions is shown. The paper shows that among the available software, Orange technologies are effec-tive and easy to use, the main purpose of which is to make complex analytical methods accessible to a wide range of users, including those who do not have deep knowledge of programming or statistics. As an example, a scheme for analyzing educational data is built to demonstrate the effective use of the Orange visual programming tool for researching educational data us-ing data mining methods, which allows specialists in the field of education to conduct a qualitative analysis and then use the results obtained in developing strategies to ensure an effective learning process and educational development.

Abstract:
Technology has certainly played a role in our ability to collect and store mountains of data on everything from traffic patterns, shopping habits and health outcomes. And, advances in algorithms and computing power have allowed us to analyse this data more quickly. But data is only as useful as the questions being asked and analysed. For this reason, researchers at Aichi University of Education in Japan are working to revamp the way data analysis and statistics are taught to students. Their goal is to provide students with a better understanding of the power of data and statistical analyses and go beyond simply calculating stats and returning the correct answers on exams.<br/> Professor Kazuhiro Aoyama is working with colleagues, including Professor Yoshinori Fujii of University of Miyazaki and Professor Yuichi Oguchi of Ibaraki University, to develop a new educational curriculum for data analysis and statistics and test it in classrooms all over Japan.<br/> The goal of the new curriculum being tested in classrooms revolves around a concept called intellectual information creativity. This concept reflects a student's ability to use their imagination when confronted with a dataset in order to make sense of and interpret the characteristics of the data. In an era when data processing can be done quickly with software, it is necessary for human beings to find meaning from data and education should teach students to engage in activities to discover new information.

Abstract:
The authors of the article have developed a methodology for processing questionnaires of selective federal statistical observation on the use of information technologies and information and telecommunication networks by the population, including on the topic of ensuring information security of children by parents. The following stages of the process are highlighted: parsing an xml file, preparing dataframes, verifying data, selecting indicators for research and analyzing information. The software implementation of the technique is performed in Python using the Pandas library. The errors identified during the verification and standardization of the data set are of practical importance for making recommendations to Rosstat on the organization of format-logical control when uploading survey results. Analysis of the results of statistical observation for 2021 showed that parents do not use computer and mobile device protection software that blocks attempts by schoolchildren to visit unwanted sites and pages on social networks. Based on the author’s approach, it is proposed to develop a unified technology for analytical processing of open data on sociological surveys conducted by the Federal State Statistics Service. The methodology can be used not only for scientific analytical research, but also for educational purposes as a practical textbook for the courses “Information Analytics”, “Intelligent Information Systems” and others.

Abstract:
The objective of this study is to analyze bilingualism in Colombian educational public policies and academic management committed to healthy coexistence and social peace in elementary and middle school education. It is mixed research, and the data processing techniques are textual analysis of written documents and descriptive statistics of data from surveys applied to teachers. The main findings explain that public bilingualism policies do not achieve satisfactory results due to the lack of procedures that involve the different actors of the educational system. The bilingual curriculum represents the means of implementation of these policies in the educational institution and urgently requires an update that includes its actors recognizing their needs, where shared learning represents a vital foundation for socialization from the classroom, guaranteeing the development of communicative skills among different groups of students and promoting harmonious coexistence that sustains social peace. Public policies for bilingualism require updating with strategies and trained human capital for the development of a curriculum that facilitates its effectiveness, considering learning as a promoter of social peace.

There were 140 (20%) Educational Staff in UNNES taken as the samples of this research. This research features a quantitative approach where the primary data were obtained from surveys through questionnaires distributed to the respondents. The data analysis and processing utilised the regression equation in the SPSS, a statistics software. The problems underlying this research are formulated as follows: Do the online attendance system and work discipline significantly influence the performance of educational staff in Universitas Negeri Semarang? The result shows that the main factor influencing employees' work performance in UNNES is work discipline. The implementation of an online attendance system has minimum influence on employees’ performance. Online attendance systems, followed by work discipline, directly had a more significant impact than merely the online attendance systems.

Abstract:
Intelligent technology development is gaining traction in the sphere of education. The increasing rise of educational data suggests that standard processing methods may be limited and distorted. As a result, rebuilding data mining research technologies in the education industry has become necessary. Becoming more visible To avoid erroneous assessment findings and to anticipate students' future performance, this research analyses and predicts students' academic achievement using applicable clustering, discriminating, and convolution neural network theories. To begin, this work suggests that the clustering-number determination be optimized by employing a statistic that has never been employed in the K-means approach. The clustering impact of the K-means method is next assessed using discriminate analysis. The Convolutional neural network is presented for training and testing with labeled data. The produced model can be used to forecast future performance. Finally, the efficacy of the constructed model is tested using two metrics in two cross validation procedures in order to validate the prediction findings. The experimental findings show that the statistic not only addresses the objective and quantitative problem of determining the clustering number in the K-means method, but also enhances the predictability of the outcomes.

Abstract:
This paper explains how Natural Language (NL) processing by computers, through smart programs as a way of Machine Learning (ML), can represent large sets of quantitative data as written statements. The study recognized the need to improve the implemented web platform using a dashboard in which we collected a set of extensive data to measure assessment factors of using children’s educational games. In this case, applying NL is a strategy to give assessments, build, and display more precise written statements to enhance the understanding of children’s gaming behavior. We propose the development of a new tool to assess the use of written explanations rather than a statistical representation of feedback information for the comprehension of parents and teachers with a lack of primary level knowledge in statistics. Applying fuzzy logic theory, we present verbatim explanations of children’s behavior playing educational videogames as NL interpretation instead of statistical representations. An educational series of digital game applications for mobile devices, identified as MIDI (Spanish acronym of “Interactive Didactic Multimedia for Children”) linked to a dashboard in the cloud, is evaluated using the dashboard metrics. MIDI games tested in local primary schools helps to evaluate the results of using the proposed tool. The guiding results allow analyzing the degrees of playability and usability factors obtained from the data produced when children play a MIDI game. The results obtained are presented in a comprehensive guiding evaluation report applying NL for parents and teachers. These guiding evaluations are useful to enhance children’s learning understanding related to the school curricula applied to ludic digital games.

Introduction. Machine learning methods and elements of artificial intelligence are used to analyze random data, processes and signals. The study of relevant tools is already included in the various levels curricula. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate, using examples available to students of various specialties, that the error analysis of machine learning methods in solving specific tasks can be the basis in the educational process for the skills formation of using artificial intelligence elements.Materials and Methods. For processing random signals and data, widely available software is used: Microsoft Excel for preparing training and test samples, the Deductor analytical platform for implementing machine learning algorithms. As an example, quasi-harmonic signals with random parameters are processed for technical specialties, and the results of psycho diagnostics are used to process multidimensional random data.Results. As a typical solution of approximation technical problems, direct propagation neural network errors in using to determine random signal parameters are analyzed. As a solution of classification problems, multidimensional random data with different dimensions were processed using neural networks and the "decision tree" method. The advantages of the combined use of these two machine learning methods are analyzed. These examples and their analysis were tested in classes with university students in the disciplines of "Digital Signal Processing" and "Fundamentals of Statistics".Discussion and Conclusions. The statistical features of the obtained results, the possibilities of reducing the training sample and selective analysis of multidimensional random data are discussed. It is shown that an adequate assessment of the machine learning methods errors can significantly expand the possibilities of their application, and can be the basis for the formation of skills for their use.

Abstract:
Purpose: The general purpose of the study was to examine the effects of bilingualism on cognitive processing. Methodology: The study adopted a desktop research methodology. Desk research refers to secondary data or that which can be collected without fieldwork. Desk research is basically involved in collecting data from existing resources hence it is often considered a low cost technique as compared to field research, as the main cost is involved in executive’s time, telephone charges and directories. Thus, the study relied on already published studies, reports and statistics. This secondary data was easily accessed through the online journals and library. Findings: The findings reveal that there exists a contextual and methodological gap relating to the effects of bilingualism on cognitive processing. Preliminary empirical review revealed that bilingualism is associated with cognitive advantages, such as enhanced attentional control, executive function, and working memory capacity. Through a review of existing literature, it was found that bilingual individuals often outperform monolinguals in cognitive tasks, supporting the Bilingual Advantage Theory. Additionally, evidence suggested that bilingualism may contribute to a slower rate of cognitive decline in older age. These findings have implications for educators, policymakers, and healthcare professionals, highlighting the potential benefits of promoting bilingual education and language preservation efforts. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The Bilingual Advantage theory, Neuroplasticity and Cognitive Reserve theory may be used to anchor future studies on bilingualism and cognitive processing. The study made significant contributions to theory, practice, and policy. It supported the Bilingual Advantage Theory by demonstrating enhanced cognitive processing abilities in bilingual individuals. Recommendations included further exploration of underlying mechanisms, tailored interventions in educational and clinical settings, and policies supporting bilingual education and language diversity. These findings and recommendations aimed to advance understanding of bilingualism's cognitive benefits, inform practice in education and healthcare, and influence policy development for promoting linguistic diversity and cognitive development.

Abstract:
Introduction. Sensory processing difficulties can pose a risk for the development of language and speech disorders in the earliest period and require professional intervention and intense involvement of parents in homework with children with developmental dysphasia, which might cause parental burnout and lower level of their self-esteem when parents are not able to help, not only the children, but themselves too. Aim. The aim of the research was to examine the relationship between the sensory sensitivity of children with developmental dysphasia and the characteristics of parents. Method. The sample consisted of 50 parents of children aged 3 to 6 years. The following questionnaires were used in the research to assess the characteristics of sensory processing: The Child Sensory Profile 2, Parental Burnout Inventory, and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Measures of descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation coefficient were used in data processing. Results. The results of the research show that the level of parental burnout is relatively low (parents showed a high level of personal accomplishment (M = 4.16, SD = .67), mild level of emotional exhaustion (M = 2.34, SD = .78) and low level of emotional distancing (M = 1.72, SD = .72), but also that they are characterized by lower self-esteem (M = 3.11, SD = .34). Also, self-esteem and burn-out are not related. On the Sensory Profile, subscales of behavior elements are highly correlated, while the intensity of correlations in subscales of the basic system of processing oscillates. There is a weak correlation between the general self-esteem of parents with subscales of body posture and behavior. Conclusion. The obtained results were discussed in the context of practical pedagogical implications, considering that if the difficulties in the child's functioning are not eliminated in the preschool period, the child's departure to school may be delayed, or long-term difficulties in learning may appear.

Abstract:
This student graduation rate research focuses on analyzing academic performance with the main aim of identifying and distinguishing between students who graduate on time and those who graduate late. The application of data mining techniques in this research uses the neural network method, which is expected to offer deeper insight into the factors that influence students' graduation times. In this study, the neural network method was used to classify graduation data from 150 students. The results of this analysis were very encouraging, with 149 students identified as graduating on time and one student graduating late. The level of accuracy achieved in this classification is 98%, which shows the effectiveness of the neural network method in processing and analyzing academic data. These results confirm that neural networks are a powerful and reliable tool for predictive tasks like this. The successful use of neural networks in this study also proves their potential in broader educational applications, particularly in optimizing educational and intervention strategies. By understanding the characteristics of students who graduate on time versus those who graduate late, educators and administrators can design more effective programs to support student success. This is important not only to improve graduation statistics, but also to improve the overall educational experience for students.

The GNSS LABoratory tool (gLAB) is an interactive educational suite of applications for processing data from the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). gLAB is composed of several data analysis modules that compute the solution of the problem of determining a position by means of GNSS measurements. The present work aimed to improve the pre-fit outlier detection function of gLAB since outliers, if undetected, deteriorate the obtained position coordinates. The methodology exploits robust statistical tools for regression provided by the Flexible Statistics and Data Analysis (FSDA) toolbox, an extension of MATLAB for the analysis of complex datasets. Our results show how the robust analysis FSDA technique improves the capability of detecting actual outliers in GNSS measurements, with respect to the present gLAB pre-fit outlier detection function. This study concludes that robust statistical analysis techniques, when applied to the pre-fit layer of gLAB, improve the overall reliability and accuracy of the positioning solution.

Although one study on psych-verbs and a few on unaccusatives examined Turkish L2 learners’ acquisition, no research compared a single set of learners’ acquisitions of these verbs together from a processing point of view. In this regard, the current study aims to investigate whether the processing complexity of passivization influences acquisition of psych and unaccusative verbs. It also questions whether general accuracy levels in Grammaticality Judgement Task (GJT) and degree of familiarity with target verbs are related to their level of accuracy with individual psych and unaccusative verbs. 33 undergraduate-level university students performed on the GJT and a Word Familiarity Rating Task (WFRT). Abstract:
Smallholder farmers play a crucial role in sweet potato production, but limited value addition hinders their income generation and market participation. This study explored the factors that smallholder farmers in Ebonyi State considered when adding value to their sweet potato production. Using a multi-stage sampling technique, primary data was gathered from 400 small-scale sweet potato growers out of the state's 380,000 growers. Interview schedules were the instrument utilized for data collection. Information was gathered on the sweet potato processing method as well as the socioeconomic traits of the growers. Statistics from the descriptive and probit regression models were used to analyze the data. Findings revealed that the traditional method of processing sweet potatoes was predominant in the area. At a 1% probability level, the probit regression coefficient of educational attainment and farmers’ association membership was significant and positively correlated with the addition of value to sweet potatoes. Additionally, at a 5% probability level, access to credit was substantial and positively associated with the addition of value to the sweet potato. At 1% and 5% probability levels, respectively, coefficients of gender and farming status were significant and inversely associated with the addition of value to sweet potatoes. The study concludes that the most common processing methods used by sweet potato farmers are traditional processing methods. Therefore, strategies to educate farmers about the value of forming farmer groups are needed, as most training on value addition and access to knowledge about market opportunities can be easily shared through farmers' groups.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the questions of organizing English distant classes for future philologists and verifying the efficiency of the suggested approach. Distance learning was conducted at National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” in the third and fourth semesters of the academic year 2020-2021. Second-year students (two groups) of the Faculty of Linguistics, specialty 035 “Philology”, specialization 035.041 “Germanic languages and literature (including translation), primary – English” participated in the distance learning. The educational process in the distance mode encompassed distant classes, held through the video conferencing platform Zoom, and students’ individual work, performed at the learning management system Canvas. The efficiency of teaching English distantly to future philologists was checked by conducting pre- and post-assessments with subsequent processing of the received data by methods of mathematical statistics. The efficiency of distance learning in general was verified using the statistical criterion φ* – Fisher z-transformation. The minimal sufficient achievement rate, used for Fisher z-transformation, was identified based on the fuzzy set theory by processing opinions of a group of experts. Lecturers at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Department of the English language Theory, Practice and Translation were chosen as experts (ten respondents in total). The efficiency of distance learning in each group was verified using paired sample t-test. The results of the data processing by statistical methods proved the efficiency of the suggested approach to organizing distant English classes for future philologists that ensured combination of synchronous (using video conferencing platform Zoom) and asynchronous learning modes (using the learning management system Canvas). The results of the survey conducted among the participants of the educational process showed a positive attitude to the organization of the distance learning using the service Zoom and the system Canvas.
