Este trabalho contempla a proposta e aplicação de um instrumento para avaliar a gestão editorial das revistas com base em determinados conceitos, categorias e unidades de análise. O instrumento foi aplicado em revistas da área de educação física e ciências do esporte, mas poderá ser utilizado em revistas das demais áreas. A pesquisa é de cunho quantitativo, bibliométrico e identifica critérios mais importantes para avaliar a gestão editorial das revistas que foram agrupados em cinco categorias: qualidade editorial, difusão, normalização, processo de arbitragem e autoria. Para cada categoria há determinados indicadores, especificados segundo sua definição, aplicação e pontuação. Das 12 revistas analisadas 8 atingiram 80% dos critérios exigidos. Nos resultados são apresentados os pontos fortes do conjunto de revistas, suas características e recomendações aos editores e comitês editoriais. Se as categorias normalização e qualidade editorial estão bem pontuadas no conjunto, o mesmo não se pode dizer das de difusão, processo de arbitragem e autoria.AbstractThis work describes the proposal and application of an instrument to evaluate the editorial management of the journals based on given concepts, categories and units of analysis. The instrument was applied in journals in the area of physical education and sport sciences, but can be used in journals from other areas. The research started from the premise that it was necessary to check what the most important criteria for evaluating the management of periodicals. These were grouped into five categories: editorial quality, dissemination, standardization, arbitration procedure and authorship. For each category there are certain indicators, specified according to its definition, implementation and scoring. It was applied in 12 journals in the area and eight reached 80% of the required criteria, and on the results are presented the strengths of all the journals, their characteristics and recommendations for editors and editorial boards. If the standardization and editorial quality categories are well scored on the whole, the same cannot be said of dissemination, arbitration procedure and authorship.KeywordsManegement.. Periodicals. A national survey of editorial writers shows that, across three circulation categories, there are differences in the research process, availability and use of resources and how writers rate usefulness of sources. Research problems for all groups centered on the in-house library and lack of sufficient time to research and write. Most editorial writers make wide use of news makers, local leaders and attendance at meetings for ideas and background material. Some writers disagree about how much research is needed to make editorials effective.

The purpose of this study is to examine and determine the typology and the semantic functions of the reporting verbs used in the editorial sections of five Philippine online newspapers. Quantitative analysis was assumed in procuring the frequency counts and percentages of the data to be analyzed while qualitative analysis was applied in analyzing and categorizing the typology and semantic characteristics of the reporting verbs. The corpus of the study involved online editorial sections of five Philippine newspapers. Reporting verbs were highlighted or marked each time they appeared in every reporting sentence from the online editorials. Manual tallying was employed in obtaining the frequencies. Afterwards, the reporting verbs underwent examination and categorization for its typology and semantic characteristics. Findings show that the reporting verbs discovered from the online editorial sections were divided into five semantic categories. These categories were as follows: communication verbs, mental verbs, activity verbs, causative verbs, and verbs of aspect. Also, most of the reporting verbs found were from the communication category. As regards the typology, results show that all online editorial sections from the five Philippine online newspapers employed and examined used a significant deal of reporting verbs which were considered as public in reporting information.

This research investigates the editorial coverage of two elite newspapers of Pakistan; Daily the News International and Daily Dawn regarding electricity crisis in Pakistan from June 2010 to May 2011. For this research study, 49 editorials were studied, comprised 648 sentences. Twenty-two editorials (291 sentences) in Daily Dawn and 27 editorials (357 sentences) published in Daily the News International during the proposed period of the study. All editorial sentences are divided into five different categories; Causes, Effects, Reactions, Solutions and Miscellaneous of the electricity crisis according to the nature of data. The study finds out that both newspapers gave 22.06% favourable, 36.57% unfavourable coverage, while 41.35% neutral coverage on the issue which shows that both the newspapers have given more neutral coverage. The researcher used framing theory as a theoretical framework. In light of results, the researcher concluded that the media framed this crisis in a neutral way.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the framing of Pakistani Media in the context of the Afghan Taliban before and after their takeover of Afghanistan. The main objective is to implore the shift in media’s reporting regarding the said group. To do so, the researcher opted for the qualitative research method and pursued content analysis. Editorials regarding the Afghan Taliban from three English language Newspapers are selected through a purposive sampling method from January 1st, 2021, to December 31st, 2021, for this study. Each editorial is read carefully and broken down into parts to determine the title, the kind of language used, the kind of tone conveyed, and the placement of the certain editorial. After categorizing these characteristics, the editorial is further placed into Negative, Positive, and Neutral categories. These categories are the defining source of the whole investigation. Further statistical testing i.e., Chi-Square Testing is applied to compare the framing before and after the takeover which is before August and after the August of 2021. The testing determined the shift suspected by the researcher and confirmed the hypothesis. The results categorically showed that Pakistani print media shifted from negative to positive reporting of the Afghan Taliban hence proving the researcher’s stance. It is a usual practice to determine LC50 value in acute toxicity studies conducted in aquatic organisms as an initial step to assess the toxicity of chemicals. In regulatory toxicity studies, normally conducted in GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) certified facilities, acute toxicity of chemicals is evaluated in fish, crustacea, and or alga following the methods given in OECD Guidelines. The chemicals are classified into different toxicity categories based on the LC50/EC50 determined from the acute toxicity studies. For calculating LC50 in acute toxicity tests, the methods given in the OECD (2019) Guidelines are Probit or Logit Analysis (Litchfield & Wilcoxon method and Probit Analysis), Spearman-Karber method, the binomial method, the moving average method, and the graphical method. LC50 is the concentration of a substance that causes 50 % mortality in a batch of test organisms (eg. fish). In acute toxicity studies with laboratory animals like rats, mice, rabbits, etc, instead of LC50, the terminology LD50 is used. The procedure for the calculation of both LC50 and LD50 is same. In this article, LC50 and LD50 are written interchangeably. It means if 100 fish are exposed to LC50, theoretically 50 fish would die. In fact, the inventor of LC50 (Trevan, 1927) defined LC50 as the median lethal concentration. Like any other median value, the LC50 is not affected by extreme values of either side. Unfortunately, Trevan was ruthlessly misquoted by the animal ethicists, as they believed that he was responsible for killing millions of animals for determining the median lethal concentration. According to Rowan (1983), the median lethal concentration in animals varies considerably among the species and is affected by environmental factors. Trevan proposed median lethal concentration (LD50) in frogs and rodents for biological standardization of digitalis extract, insulin, and diphtheria toxin when he was working at Wellcome Research Labs, Beckenham (Pillai et al., 2021a). Trevan never promoted sacrificing more animals to determine median lethal concentration. He was aware of the fact that the determination of median lethal concentration is affected by several factors. The 'characteristic' of a dose-response curve proposed by Trevan is species and test substance-specific. However, after Trevan, LD50s were determined in acute toxicity studies to evaluate the effect of a substance, not for the biological standardization of drugs. His intention was to establish a numerical quality control standard to assess batch-to-batch variation, if any, of the therapeutic products of the Wellcome Research Labs. Based on the LC50/EC50 values determined in aquatic toxicity studies, the chemicals are classified into a hazard category. For example, according to United Nations Global Harmonized System (GHS), if the 96 LC50 of a chemical to fish is ≤ 1 mg l-1 , this chemical is classified into hazard category I (GHS, 2019).Though several methods are prescribed in OECD (2019) Guidelines, if the mortality data are adequate, Probit Analysis of Finney (1978) and Litchfield and Wilcoxon (1949) method may be preferred to determine LC50 as these methods provide additional valuable information on the concentration-mortality relationship. If the lowest mortality obtained is close to 16% and the highest mortality is close to 84%, most of the above-mentioned methods would result in a more or less similar LC50value (Pillai et al., 2021a).Calculation of LC50 manually by the Litchfield and Wilcoxon method is somewhat easier, but Probit Analysis is a bit cumbersome. Commercial statistical software is available for the calculation of LC50 by both the above methods. But, using the software without understanding the underlying concepts of the statistical methods has certain disadvantages. Researchers also present the toxicity of a substance in terms of LC10, LC90, etc. Since the variability of these estimates is large, their biological relevance is limited. Concentration-mortality curve in the 16-84% mortality range is linear, hence the LC50 determined from this concentration-mortality curve is reliable. The method of Litchfield and Wilcoxon (1949), uses the 16-84% mortality range for calculating LC50. This method does not consider mortality below 16 and above 84% for the LC50 calculation. But Probit Analysis by Finney (1978) considers all mortality values (excluding 0 and 100 % mortality) for the calculation of LC50. Researchers in academic institutions use LC50 values to compare the toxicity of the test substances - the lower the LC50, the substance is more toxic, and vice-versa (Islam et al., 2021).Toxicity grading of substances solely based on LC50 is inappropriate. Recently, the appropriate use of LC50 values for the GHS classification of chemicals has been questioned (Pillai et al., 2021a). LC50s vary in a wide range from one species to the other (Geyer et al., 1993) and many times are irreproducible within the same species (Peres and Pihan, 1991), as the physico-chemical parameters of dilution water play a crucial role in LC50 experiments. Hrovat et al. (2009) reported significant variability of fish LC50 test results for 44 compounds. A consistent LC50 could not be obtained in more than 750 tests conducted on fathead minnows with 644 chemicals (Mc Carty, 2012). It is a statutory requirement for the United Nations GHS that the environmental hazards should be mentioned on the labels of chemicals for distribution. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA, 2017) uses fish LC50 for the environmental classification of a chemical according to the GHS of Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Chemicals (Paparella et al., 2021). The major disadvantage of such labelling is that the LC50 value alone does not provide information on the toxicity profile of chemicals. Showing a similar LC50 does not mean that the toxicity profile of the chemicals is same. It is important to consider the slopes of the concentration-mortality curve when comparing the LC50s of the chemicals. The slope which reflects the concentration-mortality relationship provides a better understanding of the causality between a toxicant and response (Tsatsakis et al., 2018). In Probit Analysis, parallel regression lines of mortality probits on log concentrations indicate that the mode of action of chemicals on test organisms is similar (Finney, 1978). If the regression lines are not parallel, it is a clear indication that the chemicals possess different modes of action on that particular organism. Also, it is important to present LC50 with 95% confidence limits. If the 95% confidence limits of LC50s of the chemicals are distinctly separate, LC50s can be considered different from each other. The LC50s cannot be considered different from each other if the 95% confidence limits of the LC50s overlap. Chemicals with similar LC50 values may manifest toxicity differently. Similarly, chemicals with different LC50 values may manifest similar toxicity effects; hence, the classification of chemicals into various groups based on LC50 values may not have much relevance (Pillai et al., 2021b). Ethical conduct of fish toxicity studies and euthanizing of exposed fish are emphasized in the OECD (2019) and CCSEA (Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals) Guidelines (CPCSEA, 2021). Earlier the fish toxicity studies were conducted with 10 fish exposed to each test concentration, but the revised OECD (2019) Guideline recommends a minimum number of 7 fish for each test concentration. The probable mortality data that can be obtained in an acute test where 7 numbers of fish are exposed to each test concentration are (number of fish died/total number of fish exposed) 0/7, 1/7, 2/7, 3/7, 4/7, 5/7, 6/7, or 7/7. For calculating LC50 values by the methods of Litchfield and Wilcoxon (1949) and Finney (1978), 0 and 100% mortality are not used, since no probit values can be assigned for 0 and 100% mortality. The remaining 6 numbers of mortality data are adequate for calculating a reliable LC50 value, if the mortality data spreads over all phases of the concentration-mortality curve, particularly covering 16-84% mortality region. If the mortality data does not spread over all the phases of the concentration-mortality curve in a concentration-dependent manner, the confidence limits of LC50 could be exploded (Pillai et al., 2021b). Estimation of LD50 in rodents by the methods of Litchfield and Wilcoxon (1949) and Finney (1978) is discouraged by US Consumer Product Safety Commission, US Environmental Protection Agency, US Food and Drug Administration, National Toxicology Program, and OECD, due to ethical reasons and poor reproducibility of LD50 values. But, classical methods are used to determine LC50 values in environmental toxicity studies, especially with aquatic organisms. It is more biologically relevant to interpret LC50 in terms of the slope of concentration-mortality curve and confidence interval of LC50. My association with Dr. R.C. Dalela and Journal of Environmental Biology began in the early 1980s when he was working at D.A.V College Muzaffarnagar. His research work and enthusiasm for bringing up the Journal of Environmental Biology to an international standard fascinated me. I realized from his research work that he was a committed environmentalist. I had an opportunity to majorly organize two national conferences of the Academy of Environmental Biology. He always occupied the front row in the conferences listening to all scientific presentations keenly. He had taken a lot of hardships to bring the journal to this sustainable level with a WOS Impact Factor of 0.70. I remember as it had happened yesterday, my meeting with him at D.A.V. College, Muzaffarnagar, at JRF, Vapi, Marathwada Ambedkar University, Aurangabad, and in Chennai. He was an excellent teacher, a great scientist, a mentor to several researchers, and self-disciplined.

PLANEACIÓN DE MATERIALES PARA LAS REVISTAS TV y NOVELAS Y VANIDADES DE EDITORIAL TELEVISAEl presente reporte desarrolla la planeación de materiales para imprimir dos revistas de Editorial TELEVISA, las cuales son líderes en ventas. TV y Novelas, revista dirigida al gran sector de público televidente, que quiere enterarse de lo que pasa en la vida de la farándula y el medio del espectáculo. VANIDADES, revista dirigida a las mujeres que quieren enterarse de la vida de las celebridades alrededor del mundo y que gustan de las últimas tendencias de la moda y belleza, es conservadora sin llegar a ser audaz. Editorial TELEVISA tiene más títulos, sin embargo, la planeación de materiales en ambos casos se presenta con mayor frecuencia comparado con otros títulos sobre todo a lo que se refiere al consumo de papel tanto de los interiores como de la portada, que aparte de ser los principales materiales para la elaboración de revistas representa el 74 % del costo de producción. Capitulo I. Definición y caracterización del problema y su relación con el plan de estudios cursado. Se hace una presentación de la empresa y de sus principales características, se define el problema a tratar y las consecuencias que tiene en su entorno, también se mencionan las materias de la carrera de ingeniería industrial con las que se tiene relación y como los conocimientos obtenidos al cursarlas son utilizados para presentar una propuesta de mejora en la planeación de materiales para hacer frente a la problemática que actualmente enfrentan la editorial. Al hablar del marco teórico se presenta de forma amplia todos los conceptos que se utilizan para poder realizar un adecuado tratamiento de la problemática presentada. Capitulo II. Análisis de alternativas previas de solución. Se hace una breve descripción de la industria gráfica y del proceso de producción gráfico, se plantea una propuesta de solución y se hace una delimitación del problema a solucionar. Capitulo III. Solución propuesta o implementada. Presenta el desarrollo metodológico de la solución a la problemática, así como también el impacto que se tiene en los resultados con el desarrollo del nuevo método de planeación de materiales. Capítulo IV. Conclusiones y sugerencias. Se exponen las conclusiones obtenidas en la solución del problema y las sugerencias de mejora al sistema. Fuentes bibliográficas. En prenant le contre-pied des productions traditionnelles, les réappropriations auctoriales du roman-photo sont un exemple saillant de mutation et de tentative de légitimation d'une forme éditoriale marquée par des origines industrielles et commerciales. Malgré cette redécouverte du roman-photo par la culture légitime, de telles œuvres voient leur accès au marché entravé par la segmentation de l'espace éditorial. Situé au cœur de la contradiction entre logiques d'innovation et exigences de standardisation, le roman-photo « d'auteur » interroge en effet les divisions actuelles du marché du livre. Sa spécificité réside moins dans son manque de reconnaissance symbolique que dans son absence d'existence institutionnelle. Plutôt que de poser la question du déclassement d'un genre considéré comme mineur, cette thèse se penche donc sur le classement de ces œuvres dans les nomenclatures instituées par les acteurs du livre. Elle s'appuie sur un corpus de 110 titres, publiés ou réédités sur le marché français entre 1998 et 2023, et sur une vingtaine d'entretiens réalisés auprès d'auteurs et d'éditeurs. Le roman-photo y est analysé en tant que catégorie éditoriale non stabilisée qui rassemble une production hétérogène située au carrefour des secteurs de la photographie, de la bande dessinée et de la littérature. Cette position frontalière du roman-photo éclaire ses dynamiques éditoriales et suscite des stratégies spécifiques chez les producteurs. Dès lors, le renouveau du roman-photo nous permet d'explorer la question de l'institution et de la transgression des conventions éditoriales et de leur rôle dans l'organisation et la transformation de la filière du livreBy going against traditional productions, the authorial reappropriations of the photo-novel are a salient example of a mutation and an attempt to legitimize an editorial form marked by industrial and commercial origins. Despite this rediscovery of the photo-novel by legitimate culture, such works see their access to the market hampered by the segmentation of the editorial space. Situated at the heart of the contradiction between innovation and standardization, the "author" photo-novel questions the current divisions of the book market. Its specificity lies less in its lack of symbolic recognition than in its absence of institutional existence. Rather than asking the question of the downgrading of a genre considered minor, this thesis therefore focuses on the classification of these works in the nomenclatures established by book stakeholders. It is based on a corpus of 110 titles, published or republished between 1998 and 2023 on the French market, and on around twenty interviews carried out with authors and publishers. The photo-novel is analyzed as an unstabilized editorial category which brings together a heterogeneous production at the crossroads of the sectors of photography, comics and literature. This border position of the photo-novel sheds light on its editorial dynamics and gives rise to specific strategies among producers. Therefore, the revival of the photo-novel allows us to explore the question of the institution and transgression of editorial conventions and their role in the organization and transformation of the book industry

Il caso di "Tutti contenti" di Paolo Di Stefano" rivolge la sua attenzione al rapporto, ad un tempo conflittuale e proficuo, tra autore ed editor. Dopo una disamina che fa luce su tali relazioni dal Cinquecento ai giorni nostri, lo studio si concentra sul romanzo "Tutti contenti" e sulle varianti testuali (apportate dall'autore e dall'editor) nella versione del 2007 rispetto a quella del 2003.The Ph.D. dissertation titled "Collaborations and Conflicts- Authors, philologists and editors. The case of Tutti Contenti by Paolo Di Stefano" focuses on the relation, at times conflictual at times fruitful, between the author and the editor. An analysis of such relation from the Sixtienth Century up to nowadays is followed by the analysis of the novel "Tutti Contenti" and the different textual versions (performed by both the writer and the editor) of the 2007 version against the 2003 one.

Oggetto del presente studio è la narrazione pubblica delle stragi degli anni Settanta, realizzata attraverso il filtro della carta stampata di ieri e di oggi. In particolare, le stragi delle quali è stato ricostruito il pubblico racconto sono quelle di Milano (12 dicembre 1969), di Brescia (28 maggio 1974) e di Bologna (2 agosto 1980).
L’interesse di ricerca è nato dalla percezione di un vuoto storiografico rispetto all’“impressione di realtà” - quindi all’immaginario - che nel corso dei decenni quotidiani e periodici nazionali hanno edificato riguardo allo stragismo neofascista.
In generale, l’eversione di destra – seppur oggetto di preziosi studi - è stata meno analizzata rispetto a quella di sinistra e quello che è divenuto il cosiddetto “caso Moro”, perché sovente stigmatizzata come subalterna allo Stato e quindi priva di una sua dimensione particolare.
È esattamente in questo spazio che la ricerca s’inserisce, guardando alla storia d’Italia attraverso l’interpretazione dello stragismo offerta dall’informazione a stampa.
La scelta della fonte giornalistica come fonte storica per analizzare le categorie interpretative e i quadri di riferimento messi a disposizione dell’opinione pubblica, ha richiesto di tenere in considerazione gli elementi distintivi del giornalismo italiano e i suoi rapporti con il contesto politico nazionale coevo alle stragi, con attenzione anche per i cambiamenti occorsi nel tempo nel mondo dell’informazione e nel panorama internazionale, definendo un arco temporale che dal 1969 giunge sino al 2017. Inoltre, gli scenari politici sovranazionali della Guerra Fredda sono costantemente richiamati in virtù dell’intima connessione fra eversione di destra, forze dell’ordine e servizi di sicurezza italiani da un lato, ed equilibri geopolitici internazionali dall’altro.
Si è scelto di attingere a numerose testate nazionali per dare conto delle diverse linee editoriali, delle molteplici caratterizzazioni politiche delle stesse, dei differenti stili comunicativi e della pluralità di lettori cui ogni quotidiano o periodico è destinato.
Fra gli archivi storici più attenzionati emergono quelli del “Corriere della Sera”, “La Stampa”,“la Repubblica”, “L’Unità”, “Il Giorno”, “La Notte”, “La Nazione”, “L’Avanti!”, “il Manifesto”, “Lotta Continua”, “Umanità Nova”, “Il Popolo”, “il Secolo d’Italia”, “Candido” e “il Borghese”.
A ogni strage è stato dedicato uno specifico capitolo in cui sono introdotti i fatti e gli esiti giudiziari, analizzate le prime reazioni della stampa, ricostruiti gli anni dei processi e la ricezione delle sentenze, sino a riproporre l’eco pubblica delle opere che nel corso dei decenni sono intervenute sul tema.
Gli articoli di cronaca e gli editoriali di approfondimento analizzati permettono di vagliare la riproposizione su carta delle versioni ufficiali delle forze dell’ordine, della magistratura e della politica; le memorie dei protagonisti degli eventi e l’analisi offerta dagli opinion makers che di volta in volta hanno raccontato le stragi dell’Italia repubblicana (giornalisti, storici, magistrati, scienziati sociali).
L’ultimo capitolo è stato invece dedicato al problema della Memoria e dei suoi rapporti con la Storia, analizzando la produzione memorialistica degli ex terroristi, delle vittime di prima, seconda e terza generazione, sino al tema della riconciliazione e della pacificazione.
Si è dunque ricostruito il dibattito sviluppatosi “a caldo” ed “ex post”, nella consapevolezza che l’informazione e la comunicazione pubblica della Storia sono fondamentali per la storicizzazione del passato traumatico della Nazione.

This volume gathers fourteen essays by authors from eight different countries who offer new interpretations on Ezra Pound’s poetics, as well as new perspectives on his critical reception globally. It covers Pound’s work from his beginnings as a young poet in Philadelphia in the early1900s through his most productive years as a poet, critic, and translator, to the first critical treatments of his work in the 1940s and 50s, as well as translations of his poetry into other languages during the last half century. Although in our era such terms as “cross-cultural thinking,” “globalism,” “transnationalism,” and “internationalism” remain fluid and often stir controversy, especially in relation to modernism, the place of Pound as a prominent modernist figure worldwide remains unquestioned. Without attempting to be comprehensive, these essays provide a clear picture of the reach of Pound’s engagement, including the international scope of his literature, his translations, his editorial work on behalf of others, and the diverse historical, social, ideological, interdisciplinary, and theoretical contexts in which he can be read and interpreted. The landmark paper discussed in this chapter is ‘Towards a mechanism-based classification of pain?’, published by Woolf et al. in 1998. One of the great challenges of managing patients with pain problems has been the idiosyncratic response of patients to therapies designed to improve their symptoms. In part, this has been the consequence of imperfect methods of classifying pain. If it is not possible to robustly categorize patients into common pain groups, how can it be hoped that successful treatments that translate well from the research setting into clinical practice will be developed? In this landmark editorial, Clifford Woolf and his co-authors attempted to address imperfections in historical pain classification systems with a novel approach based on pain mechanisms.

The article examines the creation of a journalistic network between Mexico and Spain by women writers in the second half of the nineteenth-century. I argue that journalistic aesthetics and feminine didacticism were shared and stimulated through editorial relationships on both sides of the Atlantic. This editorial dialogue created a presence for Spanish women writers in the Mexican public sphere and opened up a debate regarding the construction of historical discourse. The illustrated feminine journal became a platform for experimentation with cultural categories and questioned the uni-directionality of historical discourse. It raises a debate regarding the compartmentalization of national histories and created a space in which culture was made intelligible for both sides of the Atlantic –a space of cross-cultural literacy. The study of the press is a tool to understand intellectual transatlantic networks and the formation of a transatlantic Republic of Letters.

This chapter focuses on Jean-Louis Comolli and Jean Narboni’s groundbreaking 1969 text “Cinéma/idéologie/critique.” With its famous “seven categories” dividing films along political and formal criteria, this editorial established the critical line for the journal in the ensuing period and advocated a Marxist practice of film criticism that emphasized the political value of cinematic form, rather than the overt message of a film’s content. Part of an ongoing polemic with the rival left-wing film journal Cinéthique, “Cinéma/idéologie/critique” also represented an opportunity for Comolli/Narboni to argue, in an Althusserian vein, that the cinema was an ideologically determined entity but that specific films were capable of creating gaps in or ruptures with the prevailing bourgeois ideology.

As early as 1943, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company declared “Overweight is so common that it constitutes a national health problem of the first order.” In 1952, the American Heart association identified obesity as a cardiac risk factor (AHA, 1952). In 1974, obesity was identified as “the most important nutritional disease in the affluent countries of the world” (LANCET editorial, 1974). Over a few decades, the obesity epidemic has continually been creeping up in all developed countries around the world; this has accelerated rapidly in the last decade, and it appears to have reached a crisis level with unprecedented numbers, particularly in America, joining the overweight or obese categories (Anderson, Konz, Frederich, & Wood, 2001; Mokdad, Serdula, Dietz, Bowman, Marks, Koplan, 1999).

The objective of this study was to construct and validate the evaluation instrument for the analysis of articles submitted to the Meta: Evaluation Journal, with a view to approval and subsequent publication. The process of peer review of articles is essential for the maintenance of scientific journals, as the quality of the expert opinions supports the legitimacy of the research presented by the authors and the reliability of the work to be published. The expert-centered approach was used, as the adaptation of the evaluation instrument requires consistent knowledge about the peer review process adopted by the journal. The study was carried out in six stages. The first focused on a literature review on the subject of peer review. In the second, the guidelines and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics and the commercial publishers Wiley, Elsevier, Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis and Sage composed the theoretical framework. In the third stage, relevant aspects of the framework were selected and adapted along with the evaluation form used by Meta Magazine: Evaluation, and a checklist containing categories and indicators of the evaluation was elaborated. In the fourth, an instrument was built for the technical and content validation of the checklist. On Thursday, the checklist was validated by four evaluation experts, members of the journal's editorial team. These experts considered the nine categories pertinent and suggested minor modifications to 22 indicators, the suppression of two and the inclusion of four. In the sixth stage, the empirical validation of the instrument already validated took place, by means of a pre-test with its target audience, the ad hoc reviewers of the journal. In general, the items of the instrument made it possible to judge the article. Thus, all 38 assessment items were filled out adequately, with only two additions to the instructions present in the instrument. As a result, it is considered that the evaluation instrument elaborated and validated in this study meets both the needs of the editorial team and the ad hoc reviewers of the Meta: Evaluation Journal.

This essay reveals the actor and author Francesco Andreini (d.1624) leveraging literary capital to ennoble his theatrical profession. In that endeavor, Andreini’s constant reference to and, in a manner of speaking, his ongoing collaboration with his dead wife, the theatrical and literary celebrity Isabella (d.1604), begins to make sense. Yet no other male author of the time made their literary model a woman. Could learning, then, even trump gender when sociocultural need dictated? And what obstacles did a Seicento actor face that might have made such an unusual strategy worth the risk? In answering these questions, we consider both the archival record and telling artifacts from Andreini’s oeuvre, particularly his first major editorial project, an edition of his Isabella Andreini’s unpublished Letters (1607) and his first solo appearance in print, the Bravure del Capitan Spavento (1609), written (or so he claimed) in the service of Isabella’s memory. In the end, we witness literary ambitions reshaping both social categories and patriarchal norms.

The field of public relations (PR) is growing. In the U.S. alone, the PR industry is comprised of more than 7,000 companies bringing in estimated annual revenues of $11 billion, and offering a diverse range of services from media relations to event management (Pozin, 2014). There are many types of media available to PR specialists, and these fit into three broad categories: owned, paid, and earned media. Owned media is defined as communication channels that are within the organization’s control, such as websites, blogs, or email; while paid media refers mostly to traditional advertising, discussed in Chapter 6. Earned media, on the other hand, is generated when content receives recognition and a following outside of traditional paid advertising, often from publicity gained through editorial influence. Critically, earned media cannot be bought or owned, it can only be gained organically, hence the term ‘earned’. Since most of this earned media is gained through PR activities, this chapter will mainly focus on PR and its various techniques. PR is broader in scope than publicity, its goal being for an organization to achieve positive relationships with various audiences (publics) in order to manage effectively the organization’s image and reputation. Its publics may be external (customers, news media, the investment community, general public, government bodies) and internal (shareholders, employees). The three most important roles of PR and publicity in tourism and hospitality are maintaining a positive public presence, handling negative publicity, and enhancing the effectiveness of other promotional mix elements (Morrison, 2002). In this third role, PR paves the way for advertising, sales promotions, and personal selling by making customers more receptive to the persuasive messages of these elements. Ultimately, the difference between advertising and public relations is that public relations takes a longer, broader view of the importance of image and reputation as a corporate competitive asset and addresses more target audiences.

COVID-19 is a disease with high worldwide prevalence, declared a pandemic in March 2020 by the WHO. In this context, it presents symptoms related to the respiratory, circulatory and cognitive systems. Cognitive alterations can be defined as deficits in attention, language and non-verbal learning, short-term and working memory, visual and auditory processing, problem solving and motor function. Despite the significant impact on patients' lifes, there is a lack of literature about these alterations; Goal The aim of this review was to analyze literary evidence on cognitive and memory alterations after COVID-19 infection; Method This is an Integrative Literature Review developed in six stages. The search was performed using the descriptors COVID-19, Memory, Memory Disorders, Cognition, and Cognitive Dysfunction, in the LILACS and MEDLINE databases. 2483 articles were found, 75 were read integrally and 27 qualitative and quantitative studies were included in this review. Inclusion criteria: primary studies in English, Portuguese and Spanish, published between 2019 and 2021 and that answered the research question. Exclusion criteria: reviews and opinion articles, dissertations, theses, editorials, books and conference proceedings.; Results Of the 27 articles selected, three analytical categories were evidenced: 1. Cognitive alterations - lack of attention, concentration and orientation, mental confusion, difficulties in finding words and mental slowness; 2. Memory alterations - impairment in short and long-term memory, verbal and working memory and coding deficit; and 3. Delirium - disturbances of attention and cognition fluctuation, not explained by pre-existing neurological disease sand Conclusions The qualitative research allowed the compilation of literary evidence that identified post-COVID-19 cognition and memory alterations, to a greater or lesser extent. The present result can support healthcare at this stage of the disease and new researches.

O presente artigo consiste na análise da produção científica publicada nos Anais do Congresso Nacional de Educação (CONEDU) da primeira a sétima edição, que aborda a teoria da representação social (RS) no processo educativo. A pergunta que norteou a pesquisa foi: "como está sendo abordada a discussão baseada nas representações sociais no âmbito da educação?" Trata-se, portanto, de uma pesquisa do tipo estado do conhecimento. No campo da educação, as RS ganham importância ao auxiliar professores a compreender como os discentes veem a si mesmos nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem. Por conseguinte, os dados para análise foram capturados na Plataforma Espaço Digital no site da Editora Realize onde estão disponibilizados os Anais de todas as edições do CONEDU. Para busca dos dados utilizamos os descritores “Representação Social” e “Representações Sociais” com recorte temporal compreendendo o período de 2014 a 2021, correspondente a primeira e a sétima edição do congresso, respectivamente. Sistematizamos a coleta de dados em duas fases, na primeira fase realizamos a leitura dos títulos, subtítulos e dos resumos dos trabalhos para seleção daqueles que apresentavam os descritores. Seguido da segunda fase, com a leitura dos trabalhos na íntegra. A observação dos artigos foi realizada a partir dos fichamentos (os quais continham o título, grupo de trabalho (GT), modalidade de submissão do trabalho, ano de publicação, instituição de origem, objetivo, metodologia, principais autores do referencial teórico, resultados) em análise qualitativa, objetivando identificar as seguintes perspectivas: foco de discussão, abordagem metodológica, referencial teórico e resultados como categorias definidas a priori. Os resultados indicam um total de sessenta e sete trabalhos sobre RS, com maior número de pesquisas nos anos de 2018 e 2019 totalizando vinte e nove produções. Os resultados também apontaram uma predominância das pesquisas no âmbito da formação de professores, totalizando vinte e dois trabalhos.

Em de 14 de outubro de 2003, pela pena da então Procuradora Geral do Trabalho, Sandra Lia Simón, por meio da Portaria n.º 409/2003, nascia a Coordenadoria Nacional de Combate às Irregularidades Trabalhistas na Administração Pública, atualmente conhecida como Coordenadoria Nacional de Promoção da Regularidade do Trabalho na Administração Pública (CONAP). A CONAP tinha entre seus objetivos estabelecer, em nível nacional, estratégias coordenadas e integradas de atuação institucional, uniformizando procedimentos destinados a coibir ações da administração pública que violem interesses coletivos dos trabalhadores, assim como buscar o relacionamento e a atuação conjunta com outras instituições nas matérias afetas às suas atribuições. Ao longo de seus 20 (vinte) anos de existência, a CONAP passou por uma “montanha russa” de acontecimentos, que foi desde a emoção por sua criação, os estudos para sua capacidade de atuação, passando pela festejada ampliação da competência da Justiça do Trabalho, com a edição da Emenda Constitucional (EC) nº. 45 e seu contraponto consubstanciado na limitação por meio da Ação Direta de Inconstitucionalidade (ADIn) n. 3395, à busca por campos de ação, até chegar à vitória com a conquista de novos espaços, como a promoção do trabalho dos presos e egressos do sistema prisional, e a confirmação de temas de atuação que, por um tempo, pareciam que seriam perdidos, como meio ambiente de trabalho e assédio no âmbito da administração pública. Se esses 20 (vinte) anos se referissem a um casamento, seriam de comemoração das bodas de porcelana, que, de acordo com a cultura popular, tem uma das principais interpretações associadas à resistência - ação ou efeito de não ceder ou sucumbir, como sabido -, substantivo abstrato que diz muito sobre a história da CONAP. A história trabalha com duas categorias de tempo: o cronológico e o histórico. O primeiro consiste na sucessão irreversível dos meses, anos e séculos, isto é, o tempo determinado pelos calendários, pelo relógio, dias e noites; ao passo em que segundo refere-se ao tempo estabelecido pelos acontecimentos históricos, marcado pelas continuidades e rupturas, eventos de pequena ou de longa duração que diferencia cada fase da existência de uma determinada sociedade. Não se pode olvidar, porém, que o tempo cronológico e o tempo histórico, apesar de distintos, complementam-se e coexistem, sendo essa coexistência necessária para a formação e a compreensão da consciência histórica, que tem a memória e a própria história como suportes básicos. A memória trata das lembranças que um indivíduo carrega de suas vivências particulares, sem qualquer tipo de metodologia ou mesmo uma crítica estritamente racional do período em análise; a história, por sua vez, consiste no registro de fenômenos humanos, sociais e naturais, que ocuparam maior lugar na memória dos homens, sujeitos a critérios metodológicos. É por intermédio da memória que se mostra possível a reconstrução que conduz às temporalidades atinentes ao passado, ao presente e ao futuro, de modo que, justamente por tal contexto, a memória funciona não apenas como uma fonte, mas também conduzindo à capacidade de (re)significar o mundo e o sujeito. Há de se reconhecer, portanto, que preservar a memória institucional, por meio de registros de erros e acertos, consiste em uma forma de fortalecer as bases de uma instituição, pois ajuda a entender o presente e a planejar ações futuras. E, neste sentido, não faltam à CONAP inúmeros registros históricos de projetos exitosos e de boas práticas regionais, assim como aqueles casos em que o Ministério Público do Trabalho não conseguiu necessariamente fazer valer sua tese no Judiciário, mas que, nem de longe, significaram um desacerto no projeto ou mesmo uma derrota. Afinal, vencer nem sempre é ganhar, pois a sabedoria está no uso prático da inteligência em fazer acontecer e nas marcas que deixam para o futuro. Foi exatamente o que aconteceu no caso de atuação coordenada que ficou conhecida à época como “SEMANA S”, a qual uniu 24 (vinte quatro) Procuradorias Regionais do Trabalho na defesa de garantias de critérios objetivos nas contratações de pessoal realizadas pelas entidades integrantes do denominado “Sistema S”. A simples análise das fontes documentais da “SEMANA S”, sobretudo o acórdão do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), datado de 19/11/2014, em sede de repercussão geral (tema 569), poderia conduzir a uma falsa conclusão de que a “SEMANA S” não teria tido qualquer significado especial ou que, supostamente, não teria passado de um evento imprestável como marco histórico por não representar ou constituir ruptura da realidade até então existente. Não foi esta, todavia, a realidade, até porque, e isso há de ser destacado, para a moderna historiografia, fontes documentais não falam por si mesmas, não podendo ser reduzidas a abstrações, cabendo ao historiador interrogá-las, de forma crítica, a partir do contexto e vivências do tempo cronológico em que o evento ocorreu, uma vez que é a singularidade dessas experiências que constitui o substrato da marca do tempo. Isso porque, como se sabe, as fontes documentais não simbolizam todo o passado ou revelam o passado tal como ocorreu, limitando-se a veicular apenas representações sobre o passado, de acordo com o pensamento do escritor e as injunções do tempo que sobre ele opera. Tendo em vista essa concepção de história, propomo-nos a revisitar a “SEMANA S”, sob a ótica do MPT e a atuação dos(as) integrantes dessa relevante instituição estatal, para analisá-la dentro do contexto e vivências daquele tempo cronológico, a fim de demonstrar seu importante papel na quebra dos paradigmas institucionais vigentes à época. O objetivo deste artigo, portanto, consiste em relembrar a “SEMANA S”, entender o que ela foi e representou, seus antecedentes, suas consequências e, sobretudo, sua contribuição para o aprimoramento da atuação do MPT e os resultados obtidos a partir de tal atuação em prol da sociedade, bem como para o funcionamento da CONAP e demais Coordenadorias Nacionais Temáticas, visando ao auxílio e à ampliação do que se pode melhor compreender acerca da história da CONAP e sua (re)construção na atualidade. Para tanto, utilizaremos o método de pesquisa descritivo, valendo-nos do relato de experiência, com uso de observações subjetivas (sentimentos/impressões) e objetivas (observação dos registros), com a exposição dos problemas observados e os resultados obtidos.

The fourth industrial revolution brought with it a set of technologies that are changing the way individuals and organizations carry out their activities on a daily basis. Additive manufacturing, commonly known as the 3D printing, it has been widely used around the world on face shields manufacturing against COVID-19. Thus, this project aim to seek, from a bibliometric research with a quantitative approach, to expand the knowledge regarding the manufacture of face protectors in additive manufacturing in times of COVID-19. For this purpose, a search was performed in the Scopus database, for works in all languages, using the following search strategy in the Title, Keywords and Abstract fields [(3D, additive manufacturing, three dimensional, 3D print) AND (face shield; shield*; PPE; Personal protective equipment) AND (covid*; coronavirus; pandemic)]. In the next step, a refinement and organization of the research data was carried out, with the support of Excel, in order to develop descriptive statistics. From a descriptive analysis of the published documents, it is observed that the publications have a recent date, from the year 2020. Of the 109 documents analyzed, 70 are Articles (64.2%); 16 are Reviews (14.7%) and the other 23 works are divided into Conference Paper, Letter, Editorial, Note and Book Chapter (21.1%). Despite only two years of publications, there are already works published in seven categories of document types. Thus, it is clear that it is a field that is still growing and favorable to new research and discoveries.

The authors discuss the problem of publications by editorial board members in their parent journal with relation to bibliometrics and publication ethics. This issue is of the same nature as self-citedness. However, while self-citedness is classified, its motivation factors are defined, and recommendations are provided for the ethical thresholds, the problem of publishing in parent journals is still awaiting thorough investigation. The authors propose to categorize publishing in the parent journal. The ethical aspects and criteria are discussed, and a new bibliometric index – editorial board-parent journal publications coefficient is proposed to be introduced.

Scope: Burnout syndrome evaluation in Medical Oncology and Radiotherapy personnel. Method and material: This study has involved 50 persons employee in Medical Oncology and Radiotherapy Department, from all categories: 11 superiors personal (medical doctors, physicists, psychologist), 31 nurses, and 8 auxiliary personnel (stretcher-bearer). The following questionnaires were used: professional exhaustion level questionnaire (with 25 items), questionnaire for attitude and adaptation in stressed and difficulties situations, BRIEF COPE and SES scale. Results: After professional exhaustion level questionnaire for superior personnel, emotional exhaustion prevalence, followed by reduced personal achievement and an accentuated increasing of affecting grade after first year of activity, with a pick around 10 years of activity were revealed. For nurses, share of depersonalization is relative homogenous, in moderate - low limits. The results revealed that 56% of personnel from this study have risk for burnout syndrome developing, without any prevention methods and 12% has already burnout syndrome. Conclusions: In general, this syndrome is under-evaluated and under-diagnosed, and its incidence can be diminishing by using the techniques of stress resistance, psychological counseling, cresting a friendly and tolerant professional climate.

Esta ponencia pone en conocimiento de la comunidad académica los avances del proyecto de investigación “edición de escrituras diarísticas: el caso Mario Escobar Velásquez” financiado por la Universidad Industrial de Santander. El proceso de edición de un material que pone en jaque categorías como sujeto, autor y relato (claves en los estudios culturales y literarios) despierta inicialmente el interés académico por la tipificación y organización del material que reposa en manos del editor, incluso por el amparo del proceso en el concepto de memoria y conservación. Sin embargo, la apuesta ética de exposición total sin intervención, sin coautoría del editor, que requirió una amplia discusión al interior del proyecto, encuentra en el transmedia una posibilidad que resalta la hipótesis de diferenciación entre el concepto de diario íntimo de escritor y escritura diarística. Así pues, la ponencia dará cuenta del diálogo que el proyecto editorial ha realizado con productos digitales interactivos. También del aporte de estos productos en los que la imagen interactiva acompaña la difuminación de fronteras disciplinares sin sacrificios conceptuales.

A pesquisa discute, a partir do crescente movimento na internet de escritores que ganham popularidade publicando seus textos em blogs ou redes sociais, as nuances da autoria e da posição do leitor-criador na literatura brasileira, através desses processos de criação. Como pontos de partida das discussões, destacam-se o movimento de instapoetas e o de fanfics, ambos surgidos no instagram e tendo como suporte plataformas gratuitas. Estes movimentos parecem se apresentar como um caminho para a democratização da escrita e da leitura, rejeitando, ao menos inicialmente, a regulação dos processos editoriais e abrindo caminho para a participação do leitor nas novas margens do texto. Apesar de o processo de escrita em meio virtual ter sido iniciado internacionalmente pela escritora indiana-canadense Rupi Kaur, no Brasil a maioria dos autores em destaque entre os instapoetas é constituída por homens. As mulheres também estão presentes, e publicam, porém não se observa, em relação aos seus escritos, o mesmo nível de reconhecimento, nem elas conseguem o mesmo engajamento de seguidores que os autores homens nesta categoria. No entanto, elas têm presença dominante em um outro movimento de escrita na rede: as Fanfics (redução de fanfiction), um gênero textual que ganhou força por volta dos anos 2010. São textos de ficção que geralmente se inspiram nas personalidades de artistas ou personagens da cultura pop, e que são criados e divulgados por fãs desses artistas ou obras.

The ARA plan, acronym for Architecture and Rehabilitation of Alcoy, was the response to a collective desire of change and to the need for the renewal of an industrial city with a deeply rooted bourgeois and working-class base. The impulse and credibility that made possible the conception of the ARA plan came from a series of projects that consolidated seriously damaged zones of the historic center, and secondarily from the economic commitment of the Generalitat with urban projects of great disciplinary interest that, at that time, had the character of pioneers for their modern procedures of intervention on the inherited city.The common framework of Plan ARA hosted many urban proposals very different in their methodology. However the sense of their cohesion in the city was evident because behind them there was a thought of order necessary for the consolidation and modernization of the urban patrimony that future challenges would ask for. The most relevant architectural project was the renovation of the neighborhood of La Sang, which won the FAD Architecture Award in 1999, but for the citizens the evidence of a remarkable change came with the construction of the public parks. Since that moment the people perceived that an ambitious and clear idea of the city was giving shape to their daily domestic outer spaces.Unfortunately a mix of political and economical issues truncated or set aside important ongoing projects so the completion of the ARA plan was never reached. and the aspiration of becoming an strategic city was forgotten.References:Vidal Vidal, Vicente M. O V Congresso Internacional de Saúde Pública do Delta do Parnaíba & IX Congresso Piauiense de Saúde Pública (COPISP 2023), realizou-se no período de 08 a 10 de setembro de 2023, no Centro de Convenções do Hotel SESC Praia, em Luis Correia, litoral do estado do Piauí. O evento trouxe como tema central: “Atenção Básica e a Integralidade do Cuidado em Saúde no Mundo Pós-Pandemia”; e reuniu docentes, pesquisadores, gestores, integrantes dos movimentos sociais, usuários do SUS, estudantes e profissionais de todas as categorias que atuam e contribuem para o fortalecimento do Sistema Único de Saúde. O Congresso Piauiense de Saúde Pública (COPISP) foi criado em 2011 e em 2015 o evento foi incorporado pelo Congresso Internacional de Saúde Pública do Delta do Parnaíba. Desde a sua primeira edição tem atraído participantes de todas as regiões do Brasil, inclusive de outros países. Nesta edição o evento ofereceu uma programação de alto padrão científico, composta por palestras nacionais e internacionais, expressões culturais, mesas multidisciplinares, Tenda dos Encontros, minicursos, oficinas, vivências, seminários temáticos, simpósios, rodas de conversas, encontros e sessões de trabalhos com apresentações nas modalidades: Comunicação Oral e Pôster; e com publicação das pesquisas científicas nos Anais do congresso. O evento contou com 979 inscritos, e destes 66 foram palestrantes que abrilhantaram a programação do congresso. Recebemos 861 resumos para avaliação, e foram apresentados 698 trabalhos, sendo 44 premiados com menção honrosa. O COPISP 2023 contou com a organização científica do Núcleo de Estudos em Saúde Pública da Universidade Federal do Piauí (NESP/UFPI), órgão que desenvolve processos de educação permanente em saúde em vários níveis de formação, além de pesquisas e apoio a movimentos sociais e instituições da gestão em saúde no Piauí. O evento foi promovido pela Sociedade Delta Científica, e contou com a parceria nacional da Sociedade Brasileira de Ciências Aplicadas à Saúde (SBCSaúde), com o apoio institucional da FIOCRUZ Piauí, do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Saúde e Comunidade (PPGSC/UFPI), da Residência Multiprofissional em Atenção Básica/Saúde da Família (RMSF/UFDPar) e da Editora Pasteur; e com os apoios do SESC-Piauí, da plataforma de eventos Doity e da faculdade UNINASSAU.

The phenomenon of news games on the topic of the Russian-Ukrainian war of 2022-2023 has been explored in the article. During the research, a number of gaming projects from this period were analyzed, their genre and thematic specificity were determined, examples of gaming products were provided, and our own concept of a news game on the topical subject of wartime was presented. In 2022-2023, many game projects on the theme of the war in Ukraine appeared, which can be fully or partially classified as news games, conditionally dividing them into “civilian” ones, where the game character is a volunteer, an immigrant, a peaceful resident of the occupied territory, etc. and “combat”, in which the character is a Ukrainian soldier or combat unit. These games are primarily developed by gaming studios or individual game developers, rather than journalistic editorial teams, and they target an international audience (almost all the analyzed games have an English version). We categorize these news games as “entertainment” (those primarily oriented towards humor, boosting morale, and using current information or media images) and “serious” (those attempting to explain, reveal the essence, and show the war through the eyes of witnesses). According to the level of technical implementation, these games can be divided into “simple” ones (browser-based, requiring no download or payment) and “complex” ones that offer extended gameplay and are available only through subscription. Almost all gaming projects encourage donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and charitable funds, and the authors of paid games always emphasize that a portion of the proceeds will go towards supporting Ukrainian military personnel. Despite their significant potential, news games currently occupy a small niche in the Ukrainian media landscape. At the same time, in our opinion, the creative possibilities offered by the gaming mechanism of this interactive narrative are quite promising for explaining and revealing various socially important topics related to the Russian-Ukrainian war.
