Background Acetylcholine (ACh) and the calcium ionophore A23187 are both known to trigger EDHF-type responses in the rabbit iliac artery via endothelial cell hyperpolarization mediated by the opening of calcium-dependent potassium channels (Kca). In addition, ACh and A23187 also stimulate the release of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) from the endothelium. Aims of study 1) To determine the relative contribution of different Kca channel subtypes to ACh- and A23187-evoked responses. 2) To determine whether there is a connection between the activation of endothelial Kca channels and the release of H2O2.

Abstract:

This paper describes the implementation of an EDF scheduler for the FIASCO microkernel. Benchmark test shows that the average case gain an improvement of 16-34%, in regards to schedule calls, running EDF over the existing fixed priority scheduler using Rate Monotonic (RM). A possible approach to mimic EDF scheduling with fixed priority is described using dynamic counters and worst case ready queue. The advantages and disadvantages are compared to the Fixed Priority with the Priority Promotion algorithm.

This thesis develops empirical econometric models of the private sector aggregate demand for real and financial assets in Kenya over the period 1973 to 1990. Single-equation error-correction models of the demand for money are estimated using systems cointegration methods developed by Johansen (1988). This thesis employs two new approaches to explain some of the important debates in two key economic fields: labour market economics and macroeconomic studies related to current account imbalances. Chromatin was one of the first sub-cellular structures to be described in early microscopy studies (Heitz 1928). Chromatin is formed from DNA, RNA, histones and other associated proteins. Within the nucleus, chromatin is arranged as compacted heterochromatin and decompacted euchromatin. During cell division, interphase chromatin compacts to form the mitotic chromosomes.
