Abstract:
Constructing the ecological security pattern is imperative to stabilize ecosystem services and sustainable development coordination of the social economy and ecology. This paper focuses on the Karst region in southeastern Yunnan, which is ecologically fragile. This paper selects the main types of ecosystem services and identifies the ecological source using hot spot analysis for Guangnan County. An inclusive consideration of the regional ecologic conditions and the rocky desertification formation mechanism was made. The resistance factor index system was developed to generate the basic resistance surface modified by the ecological sensitivity index. The Ant algorithm and Kernel density analysis were used to determine ecological corridor range and ecological restoration points that constructed the ecological security pattern of Guangnan County. The results demonstrated that, firstly, there were twenty-three sources in Guangnan County, with a total area of 1292.77 km2, accounting for 16.74% of the total. The forests were the chief ecological sources distributed in the non-Karst area, where Bamei Town, Yangliujing Township and Nasa Town had the highest distribution. Secondly, the revised resistance value is similar to “Zhe (Zhetu Township)-Lian (Liancheng Town)-Yang (Yangliujing Township)-Ban (Bambang Township)”. The values were lower in the north and higher in the south, which is consistent with the regional distribution of Karst. Thirdly, the constructed ecological security pattern of the “Source-Corridor-Ecological restoration point” paradigm had twenty-three ecological corridors. The chief ecological and potential corridor areas were 804.95 km2 and 621.2 km2, respectively. There are thirty-eight ecological restoration points mainly distributed in the principal ecological corridors and play a vital role in maintaining the corridor connectivity between sources. The results provide guidance and theoretical basis for the ecological security patterns construction in Karst areas, regional ecologic security protection and sustainable development promotion.

Important ecologically sensitive areas are extremely important to maintain regional ecological security. For railway construction projects that cross important ecologically sensitive areas, it is particularly necessary to implement ecological compensation in order to minimize the impact on important ecologically sensitive areas. This article introduces the ecological service function value loss accounting and ecological value loss accounting methods from the perspective of value, and puts forward the system introduction method, technology introduction method and compensation method introduction method of ecological compensation, combining the environmental impact assessment system and ecological compensation mechanism in order to improve the feasibility and operability of ecological compensation.

- The use of socio-economic indicators in the analysis of health outcomes is not straightforward because those conditions act in a mediated and indirect way through the adoption of life styles, the characteristics of job or the capabilities of utilizing the opportunity of wellbeing offered by the modern health systems. Validity analyses of the national deprivation index based on indicators derived from national Census are summarized. Spatial and temporal stability of the association between deprivation and mortality are reviewed and Italian examples presented. Mutual standardization bias and ecological fallacy when using census tract data are also illustrated with original data based on longitudinal census cohorts studies. Keywords: material deprivation, mortality, validity, ecological fallacy, epidemiology, ecological bias. Parole chiave: deprivazione materiale, mortalitÀ, validazione, distorsione ecologica, epidemiologia, bias ecologico.

Abstract:
Modern conditions of the world economic globalization caused unification and universalization of ecological demands to the quality of agricultural production. Ecological certification can be used as an evidence of producers’ corporate responsibility towards consumers and the state. The purpose of the paper is to study the possibility of production’s ecological certifications for the implementation of corporative responsibility of the enterprise. The concept of corporate ecological responsibility of the company is rather developed. With the help of logical summarizing the determining criteria of environmentally responsible enterprise from the point of view of ecologically certificated production are defined. The correlation of corporative responsibility and ecologically certificated agricultural production is analyzed. We demonstrate the possibility of certification usage for achieving the valuable reference points of the ecologically responsible company.

Abstract:
This study shows that an integrated ecological and cultural corridor network can help guide city development strategies to better preserve ecological and cultural assets. Traditionally, protection zones and suitable development areas are often identified by separately considering natural elements of the ecosystem and elements of cultural significance. To achieve the purpose of cohesively protecting areas of ecological and/or cultural significance, we have developed a corridor-based spatial framework by integrating ecological and cultural assets. Ecological sources are identified by combining protection prioritization, nature reserves, and water bodies. Ecological corridors are delineated by using the minimum cumulative resistance (MCR) model on a resistance surface constructed from land-use data to connect ecological sources. Ecologically important areas are then delineated by creating a 5-km buffer zone from ecological sources and ecological corridors. Cultural corridors are historical routes and rivers surrounded by abundant cultural nodes. Like ecologically important areas, culturally important areas are delineated by creating a 5-km buffer zone from cultural corridors. Comprehensive regions are the overlap of ecologically and culturally important areas. Finally, the integrated network connects all comprehensive regions following ecological corridors and cultural corridors in such a way that the largest number of ecological sources and cultural nodes are reached. We applied this framework in Beijing, China, and the results show that there are 2011 km2 of ecological sources, 30 ecological corridors, 423 cultural nodes, seven cultural corridors, and 10 comprehensive regions covering 2916 km2 in the integrated network. The framework adds new insights to the methodology of considering ecological and cultural assets together in developing protection and development strategies.

Egon Brunswik coined the term ecological validity to refer to the correlation between perceptual cues and the states and traits of a stimulus. Martin Orne adapted the term to refer to the generalization of experimental findings to the real world outside the laboratory. Both are legitimate uses of the term because the ecological validity of the cues in an experiment determines the ecological validity of the experiment itself.
