Abstract:
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to reveal the impact of the e-tailers’ product variety decisions on their logistics service quality (LSQ) in B2C e-marketplaces. Furthermore, it investigates the mediation of transaction intensity and the moderation of the perceived technical quality in this relationship.Design/methodology/approachThe data were collected from one of Turkey’s biggest e-marketplace firms, N11.com. Consumer evaluations and the e-tailers’ product offers were used to operationalize research variables. Structural equation modeling was used to test the research hypotheses.FindingsProduct variety increases the sales of e-tailers but negatively affects their LSQ. This negative effect does not stem from the operational complexity resulting from increased sales; on the contrary, transaction intensity actually suppresses the negative effect of product variety on LSQ. This study additionally reveals that the perceived technical quality weakens the negative impact of product variety on LSQ.Originality/valueThe intense competition in e-marketplaces makes LSQ a key competitive factor, highlighting the importance of revealing its determinants. Although the negative effect of product variety on operational performance has been revealed in manufacturing and physical retailing environments, it has been under-investigated in online retailing. Drawing on a knowledge-based view, this study reveals how product variety decreases LSQ in the online context despite its unique features (i.e. temporal and spatial separation). Moreover, by demonstrating that the delivered product’s instrumental performance affects the perceived LSQ, it reveals that technical quality and functional quality are not disjoint components in online purchases.

Abstract:
An existence variety (or e-variety) of regular semigroups is a class of regular semigroups which is closed under [Formula: see text], and ℍ. This concept was introduced by T.E. Hall and independently for orthodox semigroups by J. Kadourek and M.B. Szendrei who called them bivarieties. In this paper we prove the existence of e-free objects in each e-variety of E-solid regular semigroups and in each e-variety of locally inverse regular semigroups. By contrast, we show that there is no e-free object in other e-varieties.

Abstract:
The activity of vitamin E, total content of tocols and the content of individual isomers: α-tocopherols, β-tocopherols, γ-tocopherols and δ-tocopherols was monitored in samples of hop cones of the world-important Saaz variety. Hop cone samples originated from hop-breeding area Tršice, Czech Republic. The method used for the determination of vitamin E in barley was modified and used for this quantitative analysis. The results indicate that monitored characteristics are influenced by the year of harvest (2010 or 2011) but also by the age of hop-gardens (hop bucks). High values of vitamin E activity (up to 67.79 mg.kg−1) and total content of tocols (up to 76.31 mg.kg−1) in hop cones are worth further attention from the viewpoint of alternative use of hops.

Abstract:
An e-pseudovariety is a class of finite regular semigroups closed under the taking of homomorphic images, regular subsemigroups and finite direct products. Chapter One consists of a survey of those results from algebraic semigroup theory, universal algebra and lattice theory which are used in the following two chapters. In Chapter Two, a theory of generalised existence varieties is developed. A generalised existence variety is a class of regular semigroups closed under the taking of homomorphic images, regular subsemigroups, finite direct products and arbitrary powers. Equivalently, a generalised e-variety is the union of a directed family of existence varieties. It is demonstrated that a class of finite regular semigroups is an e-pseudovariety if and only if the class consists only of the finite members of some generalised existence variety. The relationship between certain lattices of e-pseudovarieties and generalised existence varieties is explored and a usefu l complete surjective lattice homomorphism is found. A study of complete congruences on lattices of existence varieties and e-pseudovarieties forms Chapter Three. In particular it is shown that a certain meet congruence, whose description is relatively simple, can be extended to yield a complete congruence on a lattice of e-pseudovarieties of finite regular semigroups. Ultimately, theorems describing the method of construction of all complete congruences of lattices of e-pseudovarieties whose members are finite E-solid or locally inverse regular semigroups are proved.

In this work are introduced the concepts of involutive affine and projective varieties. Taking into account that every projective variety in P2n-1 has dimension greater than or equal to n-1 and that every hypersurface is involutive, we put our focus on the study of involutive curves in P3, noting that a curve in P3 contained in a plane will be involutive if and only if it is a union of lines passing through the point associated to the suported by plane the correspondence between points and planes determined by the standard symplectic form in P3. We started using the Poisson bracelete invariance of the definition ideal of a varity criterion to determine the involutive lines and conics in P3. Moreover, we exhibit a family of involutive twisted curves. Finally, having in mind that the parameters spaces for involutive lines and conics are 3 and 5 dimensional spaces, respectively. We find how many involutive lines and conic meet 3 and 5 given lines in P3, respectively.

This study aims to analyze the behavior of speakers of intonation city Maués at Amazon. This is a study linked to AMPER project, which seeks to describe the prosody of the Romance languages and, therefore, uses a corpus of declarative and interrogative sentences total. The sentences of the corpus may have 10, 13 and 14 members, of which the last two feature types with adjectival or prepositional phrase extension, respectively, to the right of the verb, as in "The bird likes the drunk grandfather" or "The bird likes Renato Venice ". Overall, work with a corpus of 396 sentences in which the pre-core and intonational separately core were observed. We describe, for these regions accent, melodic settings of the fundamental frequency, duration and intensity in order to identify the prosodic feature of sentences. The data are graphed automatically generated with the help of manuals and sripts etiquetagens through the Praat software. Our results showed that in the core region, the declarative mode, the initial movement is low, followed by an increase in the frequency syllable stressed and subsequent decline in post-tonic. In the interrogative mode data revealed that the attack syllabic part of a high frequency, followed by fall and subsequent rise in the post-tonic syllable. But beyond that, what caught our attention in relation to the contours exposed in the description was the behavior of the final vowel of the utterances, ie, the erasure process by which passed with no attendance record this frásica position. While for the duration showed no obvious values that leave the distinction between declarative and interrogative sentence, given the proximity of the measures set out in the histograms, nevertheless, in most cases, the questioning had higher measures, especially in stressed syllables. As regards intensity, interrogative exhibited higher energy than in stressed syllables declarative. In male speech that distinction is not very explicit, since the average intensity values are very close, whereas in female speech, occurred more explicit records for the amounts of energy.

The objective of this work was to characterize the pulp + jabuticaba shell, the foams of the formulations (F1, F2, F3, F4) and the pulp + jabuticaba shell powder by the foam layer method. It was used jabuticaba of the variety M. cauliflora sp (jabuticaba sabará), harvest 2016. The pulp + jabuticaba bark were characterized as centesimal composition, hydrogenation potential, total titratable acidity, total soluble solids, energy value, water activity and color (a*, b *, L *, h * and C *). The foam was characterized regarding density, the percentage of expansion, stability, and fraction of drained volume, drying curves and mathematical modeling. The pulp + bark of jabuticaba powder was also characterized for the adsorption isotherm, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), antioxidant potential by the DPPH method, ABTS and FRAP, total phenolics, condensed and hydrolyzed tannins, absorption indexes and solubility in water (AI/SW) and milk (IAL / ISL) and oil absorption index (OAI). It was observed that the moisture content, SST, pH, acidity, water activity and color did not change, while all other analyzes were influenced. Formulation F3 was the one that best fit the foam evaluation criteria. The model of Wang and Singh presented the lowest reduced chi-square (χ²) and the highest coefficients of determination (R²), whereas the Page model obtained higher values for the drying rate and lower values for the internal resistance to the formulation F3. It was verified that the formulation F3 presented greater reduction of the moisture ratio as a function of time compared to the other formulations during processing. Therefore, a model can be adjusted in certain bands and not in others, which limits the application of empirical models. The results obtained in this study demonstrate that the pulp foam drying + jabuticaba bark can make a promising alternative in the post harvest of this important fruit since it allows the retention of nutritional components of interest in this product and thus increases the consumption Of this product in powder form.

The technological development and population growth have led man to increasingly exploit the natural resources of Earth Planet to meet their own needs, which has caused a major concern as the environment, since this operation has not been done so rational, but a predatory way. With population growth, it´s necessary to increase food production, but the area of cropland in the world does not grow as fast as population. Thus, increase of food production becomes possible with intensification of agriculture in the areas available, through the use of inputs such as fertilizers, agrochemicals, fossil energy and irrigation techniques. Currently, one of the most serious problems affecting the environment from chemical pollution is organic or inorganic in nature, resulting from residential and industrial discharges. All forms of life are affected by the presence of heavy metals, ones more and ones less, depending on the dose and chemical form. Thus, the major concern with these elements is related to its bioaccumulation by aquatic flora and fauna that ultimately reach the man, producing lethal and sublethal effects arising from metabolic disorders. The knowledge about the interactions between plants and heavy metals is very important, not only the safety of the environment, but also to reduce the risks associated with the introduction of these elements in the food chain. This study determined the concentration of metals in cultivars produced in irrigated areas Jacarecica I and Macela Dam in Itabaiana-SE. The quantification of metals Zn, Cu, Ni, Cr, Pb, Mn, Fe, Na, K, Mg and Ca was made by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. The results of the analyzes in vegetables were expressed as a function of wet mass. Of the metals analyzed, compared with the levels established by the Agency for Sanitary Surveillance (ANVISA), all samples of vegetables analyzed had levels below the limit of tolerance. The results for the soil samples collected in each irrigated vegetable plots were compared with the "Guiding Values for Soils and Groundwater in the State of Sao Paulo" the BOARD DECISION No. 195-2005 - E (CETESB, 2005), and all soil samples analyzed had levels below these values. The data set obtained with the mean concentrations of vegetables and soil samples was subjected to exploratory data techniques, principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) promoting the separation of vegetables according to their type , showing that there is a predominance in metal concentrations in vegetables of roots, while the soil was separated according with the perimeter and the elements in macro and micronutrientes. The computational program Statistica 6.0 was used for processing the data and generation of graphics . The accuracy and precision of the analytical method for samples of vegetables and soils were determined by analyzing, in triplicate, the certified reference material Peach leaf (NIST 1547) and sediment (NCS DC 75304), respectively. The results showed that at the present time, there is no contamination in irrigated areas, for the studied metals.

The teaching of the standard variety of the language often conflicts with the popular variety brought from home by the speakers of the lower classes. This fact is enhanced when the student belongs to Youth and Adult Education (EJA), as they already have autonomy and formed oral fluency. Our research investigates if the EJA students are challenged to work their speech stylistically and to adapt it to specific situations and what degree of awareness and evaluation these students give to the learning of monitored oral fluency at school. More specifically, it is important to know which kind of monitoring is more difficult for them, if the oral or the written one. According to the assumptions of Educational Sociolinguistics the role of the school is to teach the monitored styles of the language through verbal interaction in the classroom, noting the urbanization, the oral-literacy and stylistics monitoring continua (BORTONI-RICARDO, 2009). Therefore, the best place to investigate this question was at a school with teacher, students and pedagogical coordination involved. The methodology used in this research was qualitative oriented with quantitative description and survey of the sociolinguistic profile of informers of the second segment of EJA, 6th to 9th grade. Starting from the characterization of the subjects of EJA and the object of study, the standard variety linked to monitored oral fluency, the research instruments used were the bibliographical research, questionnaires, taped interviews and official documents followed by interpretative and discursive analysis. The results led to observations such as: 1) students are exposed predominantly to literacy activities with normative and prescriptive guidance, in which the oral fluency is not monitored; 2) students wish to express themselves better, but they do not like oral activities; 3) monitored speech and writing received similar ratings in degree of difficulty. We concluded that some principles of Educational Sociolinguistics already exist in the investigated school, however there are still some needs: improvement of students awareness of linguistic diversity, further specialized training for the teachers and the development of a bidialetal curriculum with adequate didactics material.

The current work studies the space-time variety of dissolved inorganic material (Ca2+, Na+, K+, Mg2+, Cl-, SO4 -2, HCO3 - e SiO2) in 6 hydrological stations of the ORE-HYBAm network, which is located in the Amazon basin (Tabatinga-Nazareth, Manacapuru and Óbidos in the Solimões-Amazonas river; Porto Velho and Borba-Fazenda Vista Alegre in the Madeira river; and Lábrea in the Purús river). In the Solimões-Amazonas river, concentrations of Ca2+, Mg2+, HCO3 - e SO4 -2 have heterogeneous distribution and do not exhibit seasonality; because of the correlation among their concentrations, it is suggested that they own similar mobilization dynamic. This correlation is also observed between the Madeira and Purús rivers. However, in these rivers, the mentioned ions show seasonal chemical variability and reversely proportional to caudal (dilution-concentration effect). This behavior is observed to Cl- and Na+ in the stations of the Solimões -Amazonas y Madeira rivers, which means the liberation of an almost constant flow during the hydrological cycle. Meanwhile, K+ and SiO2 own constant concentrations along the years and among the stations, indicating that their flows are dependent on the caudal. It also can be identified that in the distribution of flows of Ca2+, Mg2+, HCO3 and SO4 -2, in the Solimões-Amazonas river, hydroclimatic factors as well as the heterogeneity of the sources (ex. carbonates, silicates) are involved. In the Madeira and Purus rivers there is less influence of these factors, which indicates greater contribution of the silicates with weathering slower than carbonates. Therefore, the geology and hydroclimatic factors influence in the distribution of the flows of dissolved inorganic material in the Amazon basin. But as the Solimões basin contributes approximately 84% of the total flux of dissolved materials in the basin and is under hydroclimatic factors influence, one can say that the temporal variability of this factor controls the temporal flows of dissolved material in the Amazon basin. This research has importance to the understanding of the geochemical process in the Amazon basin, as well as to provide a basis to future studies.

Abstract: This paper aims at studying Balada da Praia dos Cães (1982), by José Cardoso Pires, from the perspective of the detective novel parody, considering that the novel uses the typical procedures of this genre and then subverts it. Subversion is manifested mainly by diverting the focus of the narrative, which is no longer the puzzle solving, as it is in the classic detective story, but the construction of the text/inquest by the detective and the narrator, that is, the novel is not focused on finding out who, how and why the crime occurred, but to unravel the process of the narrative composition. In this sense, it can be said that the cardoseano novel engenders a metalinguistic reflection that unfolds on two levels: on the one hand, we are faced with a text that reveals its own mechanisms of construction, mainly for the recurrence and the subversion of the detective paradigm, and, on the other hand, we have a novel about the process by which the detective creates a narrative based on the proof, evidences, etc. Given this setting, the highlights are on the instances of the narrator and the author, which introduce in the novel a network of suspicions that destabilize the notions of "truth" and "authority" from the examination and questioning of many different speeches that are made present in the work of Cardoso Pires.

Abstract:
This work has as main goal to propose a method of developing hybrid systems for planning and scheduling for lean manufacturing environments that have high variety of items, complex structures, variability of lead times and fluctuating demand. In these environments there is great difficulty in defining the strategies to adopt the most appropriate system of planning and scheduling. Most companies just adopting a generic treatment planning and programming for all items. The method was developed from an extensive literature review around systems of planning and scheduling of production, their respective roles, the challenges to the current systems as well as the principles and practices of the major tools and dried. Then, the method was tested in four practical applications in which the essence of the debate on a system of planning and scheduling migrated from traditional conflict between kanban systems versus MRP, pull vs. push, to the challenge of creating an environment in which these two systems, along with others, must coexist in harmony.

In this paper, we consider combinations of related vectors of a vector space with special applications in high school through the weighted arithmetic mean and the Jensen inequality. We observed characteristics of specific sets of linear transformations in the vector spaces as convex sets and related varieties through the core and image transformations. Established relations between affine transformations, combinations thereof and linear transformations. We discuss the size of the hyperplane relating it as affine variety. We see that all of Rn vector subspace with dimension n - 1 is a hyperplane, as the core of a linear functional.

Customer behavior is a multi-stage decision process in an e-auction in which each step is critical to achieve success in e-auctions. The first step is the potential customer’s decision to adopt and use the e-auction system. It is important to understand the factors that affect the use of e-auction systems. Researchers have identified general reasons for the adoption of online auction such as a large variety of products, great price reductions, and without geographical limitations. The second step is the selection of the most appropriate bidding strategy. Bidders may have to embrace different bidding strategies during and at the end of the e-auction. In this chapter, bidding strategies applied to e-auctions are discussed. This chapter concludes with the possible future research areas related with customer behavior.

In this chapter a modern approach to e-teaching scenarios at the university level is introduced that focuses on the teacher. This approach covers content-related and communicational components of an e-education scenario. Content creation and delivery via Internet, as well as teacher-learner communication is shown from the point of view of the teacher. The content related part of an e-teaching scenario uses the well-known variety of computer-assisted training applications. The communication part refers to all aspects of teacher-learner and learner-learner communication within e-teaching scenarios. Based on elementary communication patterns and an easy-to-use technical infrastructure a set of reference communication processes for e-education is created and carried out depending on the chosen teaching method. To prove the technical feasibility of the concept the whole e-teaching process is supported by prototypic software solutions.

Abstract:
The need to collaborate and establish partnerships to reach global business and markets is more common than ever amongst competitive companies, in particular, manufacturers. This need has required that businesses procure their supply needs on a global scale, thus forcing them to interact with a wide variety of potential suppliers coming from various countries. The advent of e-procurement has facilitated the exchange of procurement information amongst suppliers and their clients. However, due to the great variety of different sources of data models and semantics, businesses still face some difficulties exchanging vital information electronically and seamlessly. This situation is even worse with the advent of the evolution of the enterprise systems and applications, whose dynamics result in increasing the interoperability problem due to the continuous need for model adjustments and semantics harmonization. In order to contribute to a long term stable interoperable enterprise operating environment and facilitate the usage of existing and future e-procurement solutions, the authors propose the integration of traceability functionalities in information systems as a way to support such sustainability. Data, semantic, and structural mappings between partner enterprises should be modelled as tuples, and stored in a ‘Mediator Knowledge Base’ for communication support with reasoning capabilities, thus allowing to trace, monitor and support the stability maintenance of a system’s interoperable state. The mapping stored also contains an ATL code expression, which with the aid of model transformation tools, can be utilized to perform the mapping between two different enterprise data models, thus facilitating future automation.

Abstract:
During Covid-19 pandemic many fields of economy suffer, including the education system. As a response to this challenge, education institutions started to implement an online learning solution as a forced kind of innovation, to reduce human interactions. As already exist a variety of E-learning solutions, even if these solutions are paid, free of charge or own developed by institutions, the main tasks [Topic] plays a crucial role in ... remain to implement one of these solutions which needs human resources with necessary digital competences. Our study aims at measuring the effort and digital readiness of users involved in digital transformation of the learning environment. A survey was conducted during the second quarter of 2020 and 1490 responses were validated collected from students and faculty. Several major aims were followed: the previous experiences in E-learning; the level of digital competences; the content management for the learning purposes; the quality of the interaction between trainer and trainees; the effort perceived during the transition. For the majority of users, it was the first contact with an online learning management system [LMS), but this led to a leap ahead in personal digital competences. The top-rated features appreciated by students were the quality of resources charged and the online live interaction, while both faculty and students emphasized that the effort needed for complying with the requirements of the LMS was greater.

Abstract:
Abstract The E&P industry all over the world is awakening to the new technology discipline of Geomechanics, recognizing its importance in every operation of hydrocarbons exploitation, from drilling to production. There are specific applications in the early stage of exploitation, e.g. with respect to wellbore stability, sand production, hydraulic fracturing, traversing depleted zones, characterization of fractures and fault sealing capacity. In the later stages of production it can better characterize reservoir subsidence and fracture behavior with pressure evolution. A rigorous application of these methods can add important value to E&P projects. The need for innovative ways to solve the technology challenges planted the seeds of Geomechanics to germinate and grow as a key technology in E&P industry with applications for present and future projects. The vision for the future of this emerging discipline is bright with strong growth in applications. It is especially relevant to meet the challenges posed by many new discoveries, especially unconventional plays, which are often difficult to develop profitably. Geomechanics creates opportunities for improved and integrated project management. It can offer a variety of solutions by integrating conventional E&P technologies with cutting edge numerical, mathematical models that impacts the reservoir production behavior. Major operators were the first to embrace the scientific use of Geomechanics to help develop difficult reservoirs profitably. Also, a few medium-sized oil companies have recognized this potential and, as a consequence, have created Geomechanics teams with in. In this article, the authors provide a bird's eye view of Geomechanics as a core E&P technology supporting mega E&P projects. We discuss the current state of the art of this technology, with special emphasis on applications.

Abstract:
East Kentucky Power Cooperative’s (EKPC) E. A. Gilbert unit promises to be one of the cleanest coal fired units in the US. Employing Circulating Fluid Bed (CFB) technology and innovative gas cleaning equipment from ALSTOM, this 268 MW unit will fire a variety of coals. The E. A. Gilbert unit is located at EKPC’s Spurlock Station alongside a 300 MW and a 500 MW pulverized coal unit that were built more than 20 years ago. Low SO2 emissions will be achieved by sulfation of limestone sorbent in the CFB and by additional sulfation of unreacted sorbent in the Flash Dryer AbsorberTM (FDA) system located downstream of the CFB. This will permit low SO2 emissions (0.2 lb/MM BTU, >95% removal). Very low NOx emissions (0.1 lb/MM BTU) are enabled by the low combustion temperatures of the CFB and by the use of selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR). The latter employs the addition of anhydrous ammonia and extended residence times at low temperature to further reduce NOx within the boiler. Having broken ground in June of 2002, the unit is scheduled to begin firing coal in the winter of 2004–5, with commercial operation scheduled for spring, 2005. Its’ design features and status are the focus of this paper.

Abstract:
This paper describes the processes required to approve new and advanced inspection techniques for ASME Section V, specifically for Olympus NDT’s OmniScan portable phased array unit. The rationale and processes required for Section V, both Article 4 and the new Article 14 for advanced techniques, is described. The various processes are applied to encoded electronic scanning (i.e. fixed angle raster scanning, or E-scans); the same processes can be applied to encoded Sectorial scans (S-scans) where the beam is swept through a range of angles, and manual S- and E-scans. A variety of techniques, procedures, methodology and reporting documents have been developed for phased arrays. In addition, an update is given on other code developments.
