Abstract:
The rural e-payment market in China is becoming one of the important topics in the research field because of its contribution to the efficiency of fund flows in the economy. Further development of the rural e-payment market mainly depends on its partners’ acceptance. In March 2020, 776.08 million people were using mobile payments in China. After the COVID-19 pandemic in China, the Payment and Clearing Association of China launched an action to encourage citizens to use mobile payments. In this article evolutionary game theory is presented. The benefits of e-payments between financial institutions and users are studied. Based on the analysis of the partners’ selection of costs and profits as well as other factors, important conclusions were drawn. The growth of the rural economy is beneficial to the change of the partners’ behavior in the rural e-payment market. Dynamic evolution of the partners’ behavior makes the supply and demand for rural e-payment services consistent. In order to create more benefits, financial institutions will lead the move to merge the rural e-payment market with the China National Advanced Payment System. These research results are beneficial for its growth by developing strategies to encourage more partners to take part in the rural e-payment market in China.

Abstract:
Abstract: Everything has shifted online since the outbreak of the pandemic, from education to full-time jobs to health check-ups. What's important to remember here is that the majority of our day-to-day activities increasingly include making payments online. Although e-payment and e-banking solutions have been available for some time now, the pandemic has effectively compelled a huge portion of the urban and rural populations to use them. This research study aims to find out how widely epayment and e-banking systems are used and how they affect the user experience. Researchers have often been drawn to digital payment systems since they are a relatively new concept (the first digital payment system was only established in the 1990s). Over time, researchers have attempted to characterize the value of digital payment systems and what they represented for modern ecommerce, consumer personal finance, and economies around the world. According to the literature analyzed from many articles and research papers, digital payment is significantly more convenient than traditional paper currency. There has been a lot of studies done on the problems with digital payment systems (such as serious security issues and inaccessibility to these systems owing to low internet penetration), which pushes developers to keep working on these systems for the purpose of safer and faster transactions. According to several studies, online payment technology can cut costs, increase the number of consumers for a firm, improve customer-company interaction, and improve the company's image. This necessitates businesses providing a frictionless payment experience to their customers. In this research paper, a large amount of secondary data, as well as primary data acquired via survey, was utilized to highlight the paper's aims, type, and, most importantly, to analyze and interpret the data in order to better address the problem statement. We've come to the conclusion that electronic payment solutions have a huge impact on client satisfaction. Customers are increasingly turning to e-payment systems as a result of the pandemic's regular lockdowns, which have limited access to banks and conventional ATMs. While making online payments, consumers look for offers, rewards, discounts, and other incentives, which distinguish them from cash on delivery payments. Businesses (large and small) should make sure that their customers have a variety of ways to pay for goods and services (debit cards, credit cards, digital wallets, UPI, prepaid cards). Purpose & Summary of Study 1) Purpose ● To ascertain the extent to which e-payment systems are employed. ● To examine the impact of e-payment systems on customer satisfaction. ● To discuss issues surrounding e-payment systems. 2) Summary: The goal of this study is to find out how widely e-payment and e-banking technologies are used and how they affect the user experience. For the purposes of this study, a large amount of related literature, as well as primary data acquired by survey, was evaluated. Concerns about e-payment systems have also been raised. We noticed that the pandemic has driven a big number of people to utilize e-payment systems and that having a functional and seamless online payment experience is critical to attracting customers to all types of enterprises. Despite security concerns and a lack of access to faster internet connections, Indians are beginning to embrace online payment solutions. Abstract:
Abstract Electronic payments are considered to be a fast and secure alternative for traditional payment methods. Today, it is impossible to imagine modern bank operations, commercial transactions and other payments without electronic payments. This article shows that electronic payments are not the only means for reducing costs with respect to other payment methods, such as cash, but can also generate significant benefits for increasing economic development and reducing shadow economy. The paper focuses on the development of electronic payments in Georgia and its impact on the economy of the country. Over the decades, the payment systems in Georgia have evolved significantly in line with the technological advancement. Significant progress has been achieved in improving the e-payment systems infrastructure. The evolution of e-payments in Georgia can be characterized by the following: debit (including prepaid) and credit cards, credit and debit transfers compose a core set of noncash payment types commonly used today by consumers and businesses. These core noncash payment types are used both in traditional ways, such as in-person purchases, payroll deposits, and bill payments, and in innovative ways, such as contactless and mobile payments, e-commerce and online bill payments. Using the economic-mathematical analyses of the information taken from the web-page of the National Bank of Georgia and commercial banks’ publications, a mathematical model was built, based on which the positive relationship between e-payments and economic growth in terms of real GDP was shown.

Abstract:
Nowadays, transactions on e-commerce platforms (e-payment) utilizing a credit card are popular. Using credit cards for electronic purchases over the Internet is much different from offline purchases in traditional stores; only online transactions do not include either physical credit card or a signature. The e-payment has become a common mode of payment for online transactions made. It is an electronic billing system that gives clients the ability to make payments using the Internet. The objective of this paper was to analyze the associations among continuance intention e-payment, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, performance expectancy, social influence, and actual usage of e-payment. The data was tested empirically on data collected from 667 Generation Z e-payment users in Malaysia. The results found that facilitating conditions, performance expectancy, and social influence impacted the actual usage of e-payment. Surprisingly, effort expectancy was not significantly associated with the actual e-payment usage. The findings of this study have several implications for managers and point the way towards future research. No prior empirical study has investigated the role of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology model on e-payment usage among Generation Z in Malaysia to the best of the authors’ knowledge. These results provide valuable contributions that can help decision-makers formulate or adjust their strategies associated with e-payments.

Abstract:
ImportanceUS primary care physicians (PCPs) have lower mean incomes than specialists, likely contributing to workforce shortages. In 2021, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services increased payment for evaluation and management (E/M) services and relaxed documentation requirements. These changes may have reduced the gap between primary care and specialist payment.ObjectivesTo simulate the effect of the E/M payment policy change on total Medicare physician payments while holding volume constant and to compare these simulated changes with observed changes in total Medicare payments and E/M coding intensity, before (July-December 2020) and after (July-December 2021) the E/M payment policy change.Design, Setting, and ParticipantsRetrospective observational study of US office-based physicians who were in specialties with 5000 or more physicians billing Medicare and who had 50 or more fee-for-service Medicare visits before and after the E/M payment policy change.ExposuresE/M payment policy changes.Main Outcomes and MeasuresOutcomes included physician-level simulated volume-constant payment change, total observed Medicare payment change, and share of high-intensity (ie, level 4 or 5) E/M visits before and after the E/M payment policy change. For each specialty, the median change in each outcome was reported. The payment gap between primary care and specialty physicians was calculated as the difference between total Medicare payments to the median primary care and median specialty physician.ResultsThe study population included 180 624 physicians. Repricing 2020 services yielded a simulated volume-constant payment change ranging from a 3.3% (−$4557.0) decrease for the median radiologist to an 11.0% ($3683.1) increase for the median family practice physician. After the E/M payment change, the median high-intensity share of E/M visits increased for physicians of nearly all specialties, ranging from a −4.4 percentage point increase (dermatology) to a 17.8 percentage point increase (psychiatry). The median change in total Medicare payments by specialty ranged from −4.2% (−$1782.9) for general surgery to 12.1% ($3746.9) for family practice. From July-December 2020 to July-December 2021, the payment gap between the median primary care physician and the median specialist shrank by $825.1, from $40 259.8 to $39 434.7 (primary care, $41 193.3 in July-December 2020 and $45 962.4 in July-December 2021; specialist, $81 453.1 in July-December 2020 and $85 397.1 in July-December 2021)—a relative decrease of 2.0%.Conclusions and RelevanceAmong US office-based physicians receiving Medicare payments in 2020 and 2021, E/M payment policy changes were associated with changes in Medicare payment by specialty, although the payment gap between primary care physicians and specialists decreased only modestly. The findings may have been influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, and further research in subsequent years is needed.

Abstract:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, e-payment systems, also known as cashless payment systems, have steadily evolved as a payment system instrument. Changes in payment methods, followed by a growth in digital payment systems, may be driving people to use e-wallets. The functions of an e-wallet are similar to those of an e-banking or mobile banking account, but an e-wallet gives greater convenience and simplicity of access while making payments. Because the use of e-wallets can help reduce the spread of COVID-19-causing coronaviruses, this study looks into the possibilities of increasing e-wallet usage while also increasing the use of digital payment and online transactions during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Abstract:
The payment system of a country plays a crucial role in its economy; however, despite the benefits of e-Payment and efforts by financial authorities, Nigeria still has a low e-Payment adoption rate. In this regard, there is an urgent need to investigate the factors that affect individuals’ intention to adopt e-Payment. Drawing on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model, this paper develops a theoretical model for e-Payment adoption in Nigeria. Additionally, a survey was conducted on 500 respondents with 213 complete responses received to test the model, and results show that perceived benefits, effort expectancy, social influence, trust, awareness, and demographic variables affected individuals’ intention to adopt e-Payments. Based on the findings, managerial and theoretical implications are deliberated.

This study empirically investigates how the different e-payment methods performed during the pandemic as an alternative medium to the traditional mode of payment. E-payment methods namely Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS), National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT), Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS), Unified Payments Interface (UPI), and Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) are considered from June 1, 2020, to November 30, 2021, when the global pandemic was at its peak. Secondary daily data are considered in this study collected from the RBI database which was converted into corresponding log natural returns. GARCH (1,1) model was applied as the tool for analysis. It was noted that RTGS, AEPS, and UPI undergo positive volatility whereas NEFT and IMPS undergo negative volatility which enables us to conclude that RTGS, AEPS, and UPI are much more acceptable mediums of payments during the pandemic than the others.

Abstract:
This study examines the antecedents of the factors that influence customers to adopt the electronic payment system while making payments. Payment is the one of the element to complete the transaction while making payment. Due to the development of E-commerce, e-payment systems have been introducing. So, the use of electronic payment systems is being increasing day by day for people to complete their task quickly ineffective way. The result of the study shows that there is a relationship between dependent variables (effort expectancy and social influence) and independent variable (Adopton of e-payment). However, other variables (culture, perceived security and performance expectancy) were not significant with adoption of e-payment. Therefore, the study approves effort expectancy and social influence has a significant relationship with adoption of e-payment. Therefore, companies today that do business using electronic payment system as the medium to complete the transaction must focus more on this two variable to increase the number of people use this payment system. The increasing the number of people use this payment system will contribute to excellent result for e-commerce because e-payment system is one of the factor e-commerce becomes successful and it will give good impact to our nation’s economy.

Abstract:
Although other payment methods are available, like card, cheque, mobile, and online payments, most Ghanaians still use the cash payment system. The study examined how Ghanaian customers felt about using electronic payments. These included determining thesector andctors that influence consumer adoption and use of electronic payment services in Ghanaian banks, examining customer satisfaction with e-payment in the banking sector, and preventing fraud. A sample size of 100 participants was chosen for the study using purposive sampling to select participants from the banks and systematic sampling to select participants from the customers. According to the research’s findings, factors such as usability, security, privacy, the caliber of the after-sales support, marketing mix, and reputation affect consumers’ opinions of electronic payment systems. According to the study, customers are satisfied with the value offered for their banking requirements and the opportunity to experiment with e-payments in the banking sector. The study also found that while customers’ top concerns are trust and security, barriers to e-commerce include a low internet penetration rate, fewer users, expensive and challenging e-commerce technology, and a lack of progress in other supporting industries. Trust and security are significant deterrents against using electronic payment systems. The ability of consumers and banks to reach a larger market and participate in the world payment system is another way that technology can help the economy. Stakeholders should offer the unbanked sufficient assurances of security for utilizing electronic payment systems on their privacy without requiring them to maintain accounts with them. Abstract:
In the present scenario, the way of performing financial transactions by the people is entirely transformed. Consumers briskly switch to cashless payment methods. E-Payment is an innovative and digitalized payment service that refers to payment for financial transactions over the internet. It can be done through cards, with the use of mobile apps, at POS and through P2P transfers. E-modes are operated for different reasons for instance purchase of goods and payment of services, transfer of money, recharges, bill payments, ticket bookings etc. Today the way to shop and pay for it has undergone a complete change worldwide. Electronic transactions in India are increasing year after year and competing with other developed nations in terms of the number of transactions done through e-modes. In the growing and advanced ecosystem of digital transactions, the main drive to conduct this study is to analyze the usage trend of e-payment modes and the overall growth of e-payments during the period of study. The study is based on secondary data that is collected from different sources. The study reveals that demonetization and Covid-19 had a great impact on the usage of the e-payment modes and reported a CAGR of 56.31% in the country in terms of volume of e-payments over 5 years. The proportion of electronic transactions has increased sharply both in terms of volume and value of transactions. Debit and credit cards are always in use in the long run but UPI shows a great hike in its usage from its introduction. In a very short time span, UPI has created its place in the digital market.

Abstract:
The education sector is one of many that has been affected by the digitization of payments and administrative processes. The study used a descriptive survey method to analyze the student payment process, focusing on the stakeholders’ preferences, satisfaction, and challenges with bank remittance. The respondents included 422 undergraduate and graduate students, 13 parents, and 18 personnel in one University in the Philippines. The vast majority of respondents (63.68 percent – 95.86 percent) were aware of the university’s cash payments, online fund transfers through banks, over-the-counter bank deposits, bill payments through banks, GCash, Paygate. Except for GCash, only 50% or less were aware that payments could be made through Remittance Centers and e-wallets. Payment preferences were influenced by the respondents’ awareness on and the security, ease of use, and accessibility of payment platforms, resulting in a moderate level of satisfaction with the payment process. The study revealed that the student payment process requires improvement because the mode of bank remittances permitted by the University is not suited for immediate payment verification. There is a need to increase the number of bank partnerships that allow for the integration of the University’s software facility for bill payment. In some areas, students do not have access to banks or bill payment services. E-wallet or digital wallet applications such as GCash can be used to pay University fees.

The link between e-payment system and financial inclusion (FI) is the fundamental interest of this paper. Series from the economy of Nigeria were adopted in testing the long-run equations of e-payment and FI. Furthermore, the normalized cointegration technique was applied to ascertain the definite relationship among our series. Our findings suggest that a long-run positive relationship existed between the surrogates of e-payments and financial inclusion in Nigeria. We recommended the widening and deepening of the e-payment mechanism in Nigeria to enhance sustainable financial inclusion. Abstract:
E-commerce is a new, rising phenomenon in Southeast Asian countries, and online payment methods are becoming increasingly popular on e-commerce platforms. Despite increasing investments in e-commerce platforms' online payment systems, Vietnamese consumers are still doubtful about this innovative payment alternative. This research applied the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to analyze the variables affecting customers' intention to make online payments on e-commerce platforms in Vietnam, a potential Southeast Asian market. In addition, the research group expanded on the primary study by adding the variables of Subjective Norms, Trust, and Risk to validate the findings of the original work in the new context. A new factor suitable for Vietnamese conditions, Payment Intermediary, was included by the authors to better explain the consumers’ attitudes and intentions toward online payments. The surveys were carried out using two methods of basic random sampling: an offline approach at offices and schools, and an online approach using social media. 521 questionnaires were collected, and 448 were considered valid and met the requirements that were initially set. SPSS 26 was used to assess the consistency and validity of all variables and test the hypotheses using a regression model. The hypothesis model was verified. The results showed that the correlation between independent and dependent variables, namely Attitude toward Use and Intention to Use, is very clear. In consumers' use of e-commerce platforms, Payment Intermediary plays a crucial role in developing their online payment attitudes and intentions.

Abstract:
The payment system in Indonesia has undergone significant changes to date. Starting from the barter system to the existence of an electronic payment system. This change is caused by the development of technology, which has an impact on changing people's lifestyles. The payment system has been known to the public since 2014 when Bank Indonesia issued the National Non-Cash Movement (GNNT) policy. This policy aims to create a cashless society eco-system while at the same time introducing the advantages of electronic payments to the public. Electronic payments are considered safer, more efficient, and easier to track. However, electronic payments are also inseparable from their shortcomings. The electronic payment system, which is relatively new in Indonesia, will face several problems, especially with the legal system. Until now, there has been no law specifically regulating electronic payment systems, specifically E-wallet. This legal vacuum will cause problems both in terms of security and legal protection for users. This study aims to find out the problems that will arise from the E-wallet and provide solutions to the problems raised from a legal perspective. The research method used is normative juridical, using a conceptual approach and a statutory approach to review E-wallets in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that several problems arise from electronic payments. Therefore, regulations are needed to protect user security, oversee the smooth implementation of E-wallet and maintain Indonesia's economic stability.

Abstract:
Coronavirus or also known as COVID-19 has forced and encouraged the public throughout the world to avoid any activities related to physical touch that may include the payment activities. In view of the fact that during COVID-19 pandemic, the usage of e-payment activities has increased due to people worried that making direct traditional payment methods could transmit the virus through physical form of currency and ease consumers from carrying cash. The purpose of this research is to find out factors affecting the implementation of cashless payment in Chinese students by using a well-established unified theory of adoption and use of technology. The current research attaches to the body of knowledge by examining the impact of perceived risk, perceived usefulness, perceived technology security, hedonic motivation, and government support on adoption of e-wallet during the COVID-19 outbreak. Online questionnaires have been distributed to university respondents under convenience sampling method. As a consequence, the research found the effectiveness of e-wallet and e-payment among university students and the relationship between social influence and innovativeness are positively related to the adaptation of cashless payments.

Abstract:
Despite the advent of e-payment decades ago, the cashless society is still a prediction of pundits, in particular, in the retail or business-to-customer sector. No doubt, there are countless financial, political, economic, and social considerations as to the possibility of e-payment’s utilization to a larger extent than has occurred so far, but it is undeniable that there may still be ample room for technical improvement to virtually all existing e-payment mechanisms for catalyzing further popularization. Based on the literature on crucial factors determining particular e-payment mechanisms achieving critical mass, this article, given its applied and industrial rather than theoretical nature, summarizes the weaknesses of major existing e-payment mechanisms, deduces the key technical dilemmas underlying such weaknesses, and finally proposes an innovative but low-cost e-payment mechanism (now a patent pending of the author) to surmount such dilemmas by means of the enhancement and generalization of existing mobile phone tickets or otherwise. In particular, overcoming such dilemmas involves the provision of highly secure authentication and non-repudiation that are implementable over public communication transmission media and/or networks at no expense of payment success rates, operational ease and efficiency, hardware and software independence, and interoperability and portability. This article also illustrates the way to extend the proposed mechanism to such applications as e-ticketing and e-identity documents.

Abstract:
Introduction. The development of non-cash payments is the key to economic growth in any country, because on the one hand, the level of control over payments increases, and on the other - the volume of customer spending increases, which leads to increased consumption and GDP growth. However, current trends in e-commerce and online commerce require the emergence of new technological solutions in the form of electronic payment systems that can legally handle transactions with electronic money and cryptocurrencies. Given the rapid pace of growth in transactions through non-banking electronic payment systems, the issue of identifying obstacles to the development of such payment systems is urgent, especially in view of the need to ensure effective oversight of payments and the deduction of payments. Purpose. The study of the main problems of development of non-banking payment systems in Ukraine in terms of their structural features and importance for the development of the national economy, as well as the development of recommendations for improving the right regulation of payment transactions with electronic money and cryptocurrencies. Results. The features of the development of non-bank payment systems in Ukraine are investigated. The author classification of non-bank payment systems is offered. The main directions of development of electronic payment systems in Ukraine are identified and the obstacles to the integration of international electronic payment systems providing cryptocurrency payment services are highlighted. Measures to improve domestic legislation in the field of electronic payment and cryptocurrency based electronic payment systems are proposed, as well as recommendations on the creation of a state non-banking electronic payment system using blockchain technology to increase transparency and public procurement payments paying taxes.

Abstract:
Modern technology is turning into an essential element in the financial trade. We focus the emphasis of this review on the research on the E-wallet and online payment, which is an element of an electric payment system, to get the pattern of using this service. This research presents a review of 131 research articles published on electronic payment between 2010 and 2020 that uses a qualitative method of answering the research questions (RQ): RQ1: “What are the major security issues regarding using electronic payments”? and RQ2: “What security properties need to comply for secure electronic payments?” With the systematic literature review approach, the results show that interest in E-wallet and online payment has grown significantly during this period, and it was found that for the increasing uses of electronic payments, researchers are more focused on security issues. The results show that, to conquer the key gaps, electronic payment must have some protection properties, namely, availability, authorization, integrity, non-repudiation, authentication, and confidentiality. Nowadays, security problems in electronic payment are usually more demanding than the present security problems on the web. These findings can enable electric transaction providers to strengthen their security methods by boosting their security gaps, as required for relevant services.

Abstract:
This study explores what can be expected for launching a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) by investigating relationship between e-payments and financial stability. Most studies analyzed the impact of CBDC on financial stability focusing on a single nation’s economy. Few studies prospected the impacts of CBDC on the financial stability by comparing two nations with varying payment infrastructures. This study uses e-payment as a proxy for CBDC to derive implications on retail CBDC and financial stability. This study is significant in that it seeks to prospect the effect of CBDC on financial stability by employing a real data analysis. This paper first identifies the causal correlation between e-payment and financial stability in China and Korea using a VAR model. Then, it employs a LSDV model to measure the effect of latent variables on financial stability in China and Korea when the coefficient between e-payment and financial stability is fixed equal. I use the quarterly panel data of capital adequacy ratios (CAR), e-payments, stock prices, and treasury bond yields spanning from 2014:Q1-2022:Q2. The results of the Granger test suggest that there is no Granger cause relationship between e-payments and BIS capital ratios. Meanwhile, the results of LSDV suggest that e-payments and financial stability are positively correlated and it is statistically significant. The positive correlation are larger when the variables affecting the financial stability are controlled. The results also suggest that the Korea-specific component is larger than the China-specific component implying that financial stability in Korean economy is more likely to be affected by the latent factors other than e-payment compared to the Chinese economy. Yet, owing to the negative impact of COVID-19 on the banking sector, the coefficient of e-payment and the financial stability is negative in the COVID sample. The risk premium is found to have a negative correlation with financial stability, and it was more evident in the Korea-specific component than in the China-specific component. It is inferred from these findings that China would have a greater incentive to launch a retail CBDC than Korea considering its prospected positive effect on financial stability.

Abstract:
This research article aims to study the behavior of using e-payment in Thailand, examining the financial factors of: 1) stepping into Thailand's cashless society, 2) people's perceptions of a cashless society, and 3) financial forecasting. In the research, Part 1 results indicate that Thailand is experiencing a growing behavior of using e-payment due to the continuous growth of payment channels through various payment systems and channels. According to the period from 2010 to 2021, a significant leap forward in this regard has been witnessed. Thus, Thailand is likely to transition from a cash-based society to a cashless society. This situation agrees with research by Thomas et al. [1]. In the current research, Part 2 results describe a study of 2,800 respondents from 2015 to 2019 and the effects of this behavior of using e-payments. Exchange and payment all come from consumer decision-making behavior. Since financial technology, or Fintech, is now part of the direction of the development of a cashless society in Thailand, the adoption and use of technology is, therefore, an important factor. The important internal factors include Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, etc., which are consistent with and related to the behavior of using e-payment. From this research, it was concluded that the factors related to the transformation towards the behavior of e-payment in Thailand are the following: 1) personal factors, i.e. gender, age; 2) factors affecting decision-making; 3) factors of acceptance and use; and 4) technology adoption, all of which are factors that correlate with e-payment behavior.
