Abstract:
Abstract: Know your client or simply KYC, is a process utilized by businesses and financial institutions to identify their clients and evaluate any potential risks associated with illegal intentions and unethical behavior. The term KYC often refers to bank regulations and anti-money laundering regulations aimed at governing these activities. Due to concerns over bribery and unethical behavior, companies of all sizes are required to implement KYC to ensure their agents, consultants, and distributors comply with anti-bribery regulations. Despite the use of traditional KYC systems, there are limitations to their effectiveness. To address these limitations, a proposed system has been developed that uses the immutable nature of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to create a tamper-proof system. This system enables customers and financial institutions to verify and record KYC documents on the DLT, providing greater efficiency, cost reduction, improved customer experience, and end-to-end transparency in integrating customer documents into the bank's database. Additionally, this system eliminates the need for repeated KYC checks performed by banks through the creation of a secure and common blockchain database. The blockchain's secure nature ensures that unauthorized changes to the data are immediately invalidated and the use of a proof-of-reputation concept makes the verification process more robust.

Abstract:
Financial Inclusion has been determined as one of the factors affecting national development. Bank account opening provides opportunity to more banking services and as such central banks have been supporting the use of Electronic-Know-Your-Customer (e-KYC) even before COVID-19 pandemic. While the benefits of e-KYC for the banks and its customers are clear, the widespread use of such process for account opening is still in its early adoption stage. This research employed a quantitative method by adopting the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology as as theoretical foundation and extension constructs and determined the factors affecting the use and adoption of e-KYC for online bank account opening. As a result, facilitating conditions and perceived security were found to be significant factors affecting the intension to use e-KYC. Through this research, it was able to validate the use of the research model in studying e-KYC adoption and provided management key areas leading to e-KYC use that they may focus on.

Abstract:
Abstract: Know Your Customer or KYC processes are the backbones of a financial institution’s anti-money laundering efforts. KYC processes are mandatory in most of Europe and India. Almost all countries have their own process for identifying and keeping a record of their citizens like the USA has Social Security Protocol. According to current estimates, the amount of KYC spending rose to up to $1.8 Billion in 2021 on a global level. Despite the importance of the process, KYC continues to operate inefficiently. KYC processes are labor-intensive and time-consuming tasks. It is estimated that 80% of KYC efforts go in gathering information and processing while only 20% of efforts are evaluating and monitoring focused. This centralization of data is causing an inefficient KYC process and creating issues like :- Misidentification of fraudulent data , Inability of tracking customers, customers entering fake data(address, age etc) , delayed processing time and very high cost of processing. Reimagining KYC Using Blockchain Technology will enable seamless and secure data exchange at a fraction of the cost. A decentralized blockchain network will Facilitate near real-time data exchange. Blockchain when used with other technologies can indicate great potential to help organizations reduce the cost and time linked with the KYC process. The introduction of blockchain in KYC brings data on a decentralized network which also has its own pros like distributed data collection ,higher operational efficiency , validation of accuracy of the information. The customer will build their profile on the DCT KYC network. There are multiple options to store the data like Centralized encrypted servers, DCT platforms like IPFS(Interplanetary File System). Customers will perform transactions with Financial Institutions by giving them access to users profile( restricted non-appendable access),Using hashing and cryptographic processes the data would safely be called and returned to the DCT network . Thus making sure the whole process is immutable .

Abstract:
Since the 2008 financial crisis, the complexity of regulations and the use of technology and innovation in the financial sector have increased. This makes banks as financial institutions starting to adapt to financial technology very vulnerable to technological risks, one of which is money laundering. Regulatory Technology (RegTech) is a technology trend to assist bank management in supporting regulatory compliance efforts and offering money laundering prevention solutions. Based on this, this study aims to examine the relationship of RegTech, which is represented by three independent variables: Electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC), Transaction Monitoring, and Time and Cost Efficiency, on Money Laundering Prevention. This study shows that transaction monitoring, as well as cost and time efficiency, have a significant effect on money laundering prevention. In contrast, e-KYC does not affect money laundering prevention. This research is intended to provide valuable insights to Financial Institutions to increase awareness of the importance of adopting new technologies and maintaining good relations with regulators to prevent money laundering in Indonesia.

The development of the Financial Technology (FinTech) Industry in Indonesia is very rapid. Financial Technology (FinTech) can generally be defined as an industry that combines technology and financial features as its business model. One of the advantages FinTech business is the speed and convenience for parties to conduct transactions. The speed and simplicity of transactions in the FinTech business are due to the use of technology in the financial services provided. Furthermore, the FinTech industry facilitates parties to conduct non-face-to-face transactions. The advantages offered by the FinTech industry raise concerns that this business could be used by criminals to commit money laundering crimes. This research tries to see the vital role of using Know Your Customer (KYC) customer principles which are carried out electronically to be applicable in preventing FinTech businesses from being used as a means of committing money laundering crimes.

The primary objectives of this paper are to examine if Islamic Fintech leadership (IFL) and technology adoption (TA) can predict Sustainable Entrepreneurship Values (SEV) among Malaysian Fintech organizations. A survey was self-administered to 294 organisations involved in payment, e-wallet, prop-tech, digital bank, blockchain, cryptocurrency, remittance, AI/data, marketplace, crowdfunding, insurtech, wealthtech, Know Your Customer (KYC), and reg-tech services offerings. Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling is used to analyze 121 responses. The results show that IFL has a positive and significant relationship with SEV. TA, however, does not moderate the relationship between IFL and SEV. This paper contributed to developing the extended Technology Acceptance Model and Resource-Based Theory. The SEV model explains the leadership concern for socio-economy, environment, and values by creating a game changer for Islamic digital transformation that enables micro and small enterprises to access faster socio-economic well-being and financial health.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Background and purpose: In its development, fintech has entered the 4.0 era where it has developed by facilitating the financial system and it is feared that it could become a threat to the world of conventional banking. Therefore, this study aims to develop competency strategies needed by banks in facing the disruption of the fintech 4.0 era. Design/Methodology/Approach: In this study the research approach used is a quantitative approach (post positivist). Data collection is carried out using research instruments, statistical or quantitative analysis, with the aim of testing predetermined hypotheses. Results: The results show that competency-based practice contributes positively to the bottom line, and that contributions to organizations are related to the roles of individuals not to their jobs. Additionally, efforts designed for employee commitment have the potential to generate positive returns, and that training and development are seen as drivers of future success. Conclusion: Even though banking has similar products with fintech companies, it has a different character where banks have a higher prudential principle. Competency is needed for bank employees in dealing with fintech 4.0, namely E-KYC, Payment Gateway, Big Data, Cloud Infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence and digital signatures besides that it also requires the ability to innovate, a willingness to learn and change, and be able to provide creative encouragement where they work

Abstract:
Fraud can occur anywhere and anytime including in red-plated banks (State-Owned Banks). As a place of money turnover, banking cannot be separated from criminal acts both general, civil, and corruption crimes because the Bank has a position that is vulnerable to abuse of authority either by employees on the front line such as tellers, costumer services, loan services or by branch heads even on the Board of Directors. The formulation of the issue raised is how the form of fraud prevention efforts, especially in State-Owned Banks related to the rescue of assets and wealth, is indicated to be detrimental to the country's finances. The type of research used is juridical-normative which is one of the legal research methods obtained by analyzing a legal problem through laws and regulations and related literature. The results found prevention efforts consist of technical and moral aspects and integrity. Technical aspects can be through (1) Double-check customer data, (2) Rewarding Loophole Inventors, (3) Creating good internal controls, (4) Transparency to Customers, (5) Increasing Personnel Supervision, (6) Implementing e-KYC, (7) Whistleblowers. Moral and integrity aspects must be owned by every party involved in activities in the bank. In addition, Law Enforcement Officials (APH) must also comply with the implementation of the commercial bank anti-fraud strategy that has been regulated in the POJK for the Rescue of State Finances and State Assets and National Economic Recovery. Abstract:
Purpose — The recent surge in Sharīʿah-compliant fintech platforms has created an increasing volume of intangible digital assets of increasing value across emerging technological platforms. This phenomenon has generated a significant number of digital assets left behind after the demise of their owners. This paper provides a legal analysis of the implications of abandoned digital assets in Sharīʿah-compliant fintech platforms. It seeks answers to two central research questions: what are the Sharīʿah and legal implications of digital assets after the passing of the owner? How can the existing Sharīʿah-compliant fintech platforms prevent uncertainty over digital assets? Design/Methodology/Approach — This is a conceptual paper which adopts a qualitative analysis of both primary and secondary sources from existing journals and regulatory instruments in Islamic finance jurisdictions to explore the gaps in the law regarding digital assets and regulations regarding unclaimed money. The paper further compares the approaches adopted in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia in regulating digital assets and unclaimed moneys. Findings — The paper finds that there is scope for the administration of digital assets in both regulated and unregulated Sharīʿah-compliant fintech platforms. Similarly, the adoption of e-KYC that complies with the Sharīʿah ethos is essential to ensure that digital assets are not lost upon the account holder’s demise. The legal right and title of the account holder and legal heirs can only be protected through the operation of digital assets regulation in a Sharīʿah-compliant fintech environment. Originality — This paper is of value to administrators and legal heirs of account holders in fintech environments. It recommends measures to prevent intestacy and uphold the account holders’ and legal heirs’ intergenerational property rights and financial benefits. Research Limitations/Implications — As a conceptual paper, the attitude of digital asset users is not examined due to the absence of quantitative or qualitative data on devolution of digital assets. Practical Implications — Although this study focuses on the implication of digital assets for Sharīʿah-compliant fintech platforms, the findings may well have a bearing on policymakers, legal practitioners, and administrators of estates in the management of emerging asset classes. Abstract:
Lipopeptides have been extensively studied as potential antimicrobial agents. In this study, we focused on the C14-KYR lipopeptide, a modified version of the KYR tripeptide with myristic acid at the N-terminus. Here, membrane perturbation of live E. coli treated with the parent KYR and C14-KYR peptides was compared at the nanoscale level using AFM imaging. AFM analyses, including average cellular roughness and force spectroscopy, revealed the severe surface disruption mechanism of C14-KYR. A loss of surface roughness and changes in topographic features included membrane shrinkage, periplasmic membrane separation from the cell wall, and cytosolic leakage. Additional evidence from synchrotron radiation FTIR microspectroscopy (SR-FTIR) revealed a marked structural change in the membrane component after lipopeptide attack. The average roughness of the E. coli cell before and after treatment with C14-KYR was 129.2 ± 51.4 and 223.5 ± 14.1 nm, respectively. The average rupture force of the cell treated with C14-KYR was 0.16 nN, four times higher than that of the untreated cell. Our study demonstrates that the mechanistic effect of the lipopeptide against bacterial cells can be quantified through surface imaging and adhesion force using AFM.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Exercise training reduces sympathetic activity in hypertensive humans and rats. We hypothesized that the swimming exercise would change the neurotransmission in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM), a key region involved in sympathetic outflow, and hemodynamic control in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rats. Bilateral injections of kynurenic acid (KYN) were carried out in the RVLM in sedentary- (S-) or exercised- (E-) SHR and WKY rats submitted to swimming for 6 weeks. Rats wereα-chloralose anesthetized and artificially ventilated, with Doppler flow probes around the lower abdominal aorta and superior mesenteric artery. Injections into the RVLM were made before and after i.v. L-NAME (nitric oxide synthase, NOS, inhibitor). Injections of KYN into the RVLM elicited a major vasodilation in the hindlimb more than in the mesenteric artery in E-SHR compared to S-SHR, but similar decrease in arterial pressure was observed in both groups. Injections of KYN into the RVLM after i.v. L-NAME attenuated the hindlimb vasodilation evoked by KYN and increased the mesenteric vasodilation in E-SHR. Swimming exercise can enhance the hindlimb vasodilation mediated by peripheral NO release, reducing the activation of neurons with EAA receptors in the RVLM in SHR.

Abstract:
We present preliminary results of the estimate of isolated pulsar contribution to the positron and electron interstellar fluxes when a polar cap model is assumed. Pulsars of all ages outside their host remnants have been considered. Cosmic-ray positron observations above a few GeV seem to indicate that an outer gap model is favoured over a polar cap model when the contribution of young pulsars only is taken into account. Here we show that pulsars with ages ranging between 10 kyr and 600 kyr, escaped from their remnants, give a contribution to the interstellar positron flux larger than that proposed in literature for the whole sample of pulsars younger than 10 kyr. Consequently, this result also indicates that outer gap electromagnetic energy losses overcome those at the polar cap. Future, low error e+/(e+ + e-) ratio observations as well as high energy pulsed gamma-ray measurements will allow us to verify this possibility.

Abstract. In this study a radiocarbon-dated pollen record from Lake Kotokel (52°47´ N, 108°07´ E, 458 m a.s.l.) located in southern Siberia east of Lake Baikal was used to derive quantitative characteristics of regional vegetation and climate from about 15 kyr BP (1 kyr=1000 cal. yr) until today. Quantitative reconstruction of the late glacial vegetation and climate dynamics suggests that open steppe and tundra communities predominated in the study area prior to ca. 13.5 kyr BP and again during the Younger Dryas interval, between 12.8 and 11.6 kyr BP. The pollen-based climate reconstruction suggests lower-than-present mean January (~−38°C) and July (~12°C) temperatures and annual precipitation (~270–300 mm) values during these time intervals. Boreal woodland replaced the primarily open landscape around Kotokel three times at about 14.8–14.7 kyr BP, during the Allerød Interstadial between 13.3–12.8 kyr BP and with the onset of the Holocene interglacial between 11.5 and 10.5 kyr BP, presumably in response to a noticeable increase in precipitation, and in July and January temperatures. The maximal spread of the boreal forest (taiga) communities in the region is associated with a warmer and wetter-than-present climate (Tw~17–18°C, Tc~−19°C, Pann~500–550 mm) that occurred ca. 10.8–7.3 kyr BP. During this time interval woody vegetation covered more than 50% of the area within a 21×21 km window around the lake. The pollen-based best modern analogue reconstruction suggests a decrease in woody cover percentages and in all climatic variables about 7–6.5 kyr BP. Our results demonstrate a gradual decrease in precipitation and mean January temperature towards their present-day values in the region around Lake Kotokel since that time.

Abstract:
Abstract Thymic regulatory T cells (tTreg) or in vitro induced Tregs (iTregs) adoptive transfer suppresses murine acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). Previously we demonstrated that plasmacytoid dendritic cell (pDC) indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) fosters the development of human iTregs through tryptophan (Trp) depletion and production of catabolites including kynurenines (Kyn). IDO is an immunosuppressive enzyme implicated in maternal-fetal acceptance, tumor immunity, and autoimmunity. IDO is highly up-regulated in the colon of mice and patients with GVHD; in rodents, the lack of IDO leads to increased colon pathology and accelerated lethality. Because pDCs are rare and difficult to purify and expand, we sought to determine whether an optimally suppressive iTreg could be generated using clinically amenable conditions that mimicked pDCs support (i.e. Low Trp+Kyn). Naïve human CD4+ T cells purified with cGMP-compatible reagents and expanded in vitro using an anti-CD3-loaded artificial APC expressing CD86 under conditions of low Trp + kynurenines suppress in vitro T cell proliferation equivalently to tTreg (A) (Fig 1). The calculated yield of Low Trp+Kyn iTreg (~1x1010) produced from an apheresis product is ~10-fold greater than similarly expanded cord blood-derived tTreg that decreased GVHD severity in the clinic (B). Low Trp+Kyn iTreg have a phenotype distinct from tTreg, including: higher CD25 expression, lower Foxp3 expression, and no Helios expression (consistent with the non-thymus origin of iTregs) (C). Since Trp depletion was important for iTreg generation, we determined whether iTregs were under metabolic stress. Surprisingly, bioenergetics profiling demonstrated that Low Trp+Kyn iTreg maintain a remarkably high metabolic rate, with both oxidative phosphorylation and glycolytic pathways higher than that observed in expanded Teffectors (Teff) and tTregs (D). High metabolic rates had functional consequences, as Low Trp+Kyn iTreg were exquisitely dependent on IL-2, which drives the expression of genes needed for glycolytic metabolism. In addition, high basal oxidative phosphorylation rates correlated with increased mitochondrial membrane potential and ROS production (not shown) and decreased viability. A xenogeneic model of GVHD was used to assess the in vivo efficacy of Low Trp+Kyn iTreg. Because Low Trp+Kyn iTreg were so sensitive to IL-2 withdrawal in vitro, mice were also treated ± low dose IL-2 for 9 days (IP, 25kU/day). While low dose IL-2 prolonged in vivo Low Trp+Kyn iTreg persistence and improved survival compared to no IL-2, survival was not significantly increased compared to GVHD mice receiving only PBMC (E). To determine whether increasing the duration of IL-2 therapy would further increase Low Trp+Kyn iTreg persistence and efficacy, the experiment was repeated (with the addition of a cohort of mice receiving PBMC + IL-2 only), and IL-2 treatment was continued indefinitely (F). However, prolonged IL-2 therapy enhanced Teff expansion, and all animals receiving exogenous IL-2 (either PBMC only or with Low Trp+Kyn iTreg) were deceased by day 18. Studies are in progress to determine whether lower doses of IL2 (i.e. 2.5 or 10k U/day) can preferentially foster iTreg expansion and efficacy in suppressing xenogeneic GVHD over Teff expansion and exacerbation of disease. Figure 1. tTreg and naïve CD4+ T-cells were purified from apheresis products using magnetic beads, stimulated with a cell line expressing CD86 and CD64 (KT64/86) to which anti-CD3 mAb is bound, and cultured for 14 days. Abstract. In this study a radiocarbon-dated pollen record from Lake Billyakh (65°17'N, 126°47'E; 340 m a.s.l.) in the Verkhoyansk Mountains was used to reconstruct vegetation and climate change since about 15 kyr BP (1 kyr=1000 cal. yr). The pollen record and pollen-based biome reconstruction suggest that open cool steppe and grass and sedge tundra communities with Poaceae, Cyperaceae, Artemisia, Chenopodiaceae, Caryophyllaceae and Selaginella rupestris dominated the area from 15 to 13.5 kyr BP. On the other hand, the constant presence of Larix pollen in quantities comparable to today's values points to the constant presence of boreal deciduous conifer trees in the regional vegetation during the last glaciation. A major spread of shrub tundra communities, including birch (Betula sect. Nanae), alder (Duschekia fruticosa) and willow (Salix) species, is dated to 13.5–12.7 kyr BP, indicating a noticeable increase in precipitation toward the end of the last glaciation, particularly during the Allerød Interstadial. Between 12.7 and 11.4 kyr BP pollen percentages of herbaceous taxa rapidly increased, whereas shrub taxa percentages decreased, suggesting strengthening of the steppe communities associated with the relatively cold and dry Younger Dryas Stadial. However, the pollen data in hand indicate that Younger Dryas climate was less severe than the climate during the earlier interval from 15 to 13.5 kyr BP. The onset of the Holocene is marked in the pollen record by the highest values of shrub and lowest values of herbaceous taxa, suggesting a return of warmer and wetter conditions after 11.4 kyr BP. Percentages of tree taxa increase gradually and reach maximum values after 7 kyr BP, reflecting the spread of boreal cold deciduous and taiga forests in the region. An interval between 7 and 2 kyr BP is noticeable for the highest percentages of Scots pine (Pinus subgen. Diploxylon), spruce (Picea) and fir (Abies) pollen, indicating mid-Holocene spread of boreal forest communities in response to climate amelioration and degradation of the permafrost layer.

Abstract:
The aim of the study was to investigate the effects and underlying mechanism of JKSQP in a rat model of asthma with kidney-yang deficiency (KYD). Materials and Methods. Hydrocortisone (HYD) was used to establish the rat model of KYD; rats were then sensitized and challenged with ovalbumin (OVA). JKSQP was administered to OVA-challenged rats, and the changes in signs and symptoms of KYD were observed. The leukocyte number and subpopulations in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were counted and the cells were stained with Wright–Giemsa dye. Serum adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), corticosterone (CORT), corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH), total immunoglobulin E (IgE), and OVA-specific IgE levels were determined using relevant enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA) kits. Results. JKSQP not only reversed the phenomenon of KYD but also significantly inhibited the number of leukocyte and eosinophils in the BALF, increasing the level of interferon (IFN)-γ and decreasing the levels of interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IgE in the serum compared with the OVA-challenged groups. Conclusions. Taken together, the antiasthma effects of JKSQP were likely mediated by the enhancement of the function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and the reversal of T helper 1/2 imbalance.

Bottom sediments from the three boreholes were studied. Lithologostratigraphic description, grain-size and diatom analyses were carried out, loss on ignition, Corg/Nogr was determined. Radiocarbon ages were obtained from the lower horizons of post-glacial sediments. Signs of Late Glacial transgression (earlier ~12.1 kyr. cal. BP) and Early Holocene regression (started between ~12.1 and ~10.3 kyr. cal. BP) were determined. The next filling of the lake basin can be compared with the Middle Holocene transgression. At the same time sea waters did not penetrate into the lake basin. The beginning of this stage was apparently accompanied by intensification of coastal aeolian processes.

In vitro analyses of JGSQP revealed strong induction of osteogenic differentiation and inhibition of adipogenic differentiation in bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stem/stromal cells. However, the mechanisms by which JGSQP regulate the bone-fat balance in murine ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis with KYD have not been reported. Materials and Methods. Two-month-old female C57BL/6 mice were divided randomly into three groups: those receiving a sham operation (Sham); those undergoing bilateral ovariectomy and selection of KYD syndrome (Model); and those subjected to both bilateral ovariectomy and KYD syndrome selection for 8 weeks, followed by JGSQP treatment for 4 weeks (JGSQP). In the Sham and Model groups, mice were given the same dose of distilled water orally for 4 weeks. Animals from all three groups were euthanised at the 12th week. Vertebral microarchitecture and histomorphology were examined by micro-CT and H&E staining, respectively. In addition, we examined the mRNA expression of Akt, Wnt10b, Osterix (Osx), Fndc5, PPARγ, and Fabp4, as well as the protein of AKT, phosphorylation-AKT (p-AKT), BMP2, COL1A1, and FNDC5. Results. JGSQP treatment improved bone microarchitecture and mitigated histomorphological damage relative to the Model group. The osteoblast number (Ob.N/BS) and area (Ob.S/BS) were increased, whereas adipocyte number (adipocyte/tissue area) and area (adipocyte area/tissue area) were decreased in the JGSQP group. JGSQP treatment reduced the mRNA expression of Akt and adipogenesis-related genes (Fndc5, PPARγ, and Fabp4) while promoting osteogenesis-related genes (Wnt10b and Osx) mRNA expression. Additionally, the expression of p-AKT, BMP2, and COL1A1 proteins was increased and FNDC5 protein expression was decreased after JGSQP treatment. Conclusions. JGSQP treatment reversed murine ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis with KYD by controlling bone-fat balance via AKT pathway.

Abstract:
Solidified stomach oil deposits in snow petrel colonies in the Antarctic proved to be suitable for 14C dating and provide important palaeobiogeographical and palaeoenvironmental information. Following earlier studies in the Untersee oasis (Central Dronning Maud Land) we present here 14C measurements on comparable deposits from the Bunger Hills (66°10′S, 101°E). The conventional 14C age of the basal layer reflects the occupation age of any particular nesting site and therefore a minimum age for the time when this area became ice-free. According to the 14C results the occupation of the southern part of the Bunger Hills by petrels started about 10000yr ago. The breeding colonies expanded continuously following local ice retreat. The most intensive phases of colonization seem to have been from 8–6 kyr BP and during the past 2 kyr.

Abstract:
Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application or web-based technology that is used to develop, implement, and evaluate a specific learning process. KYP has implemented an e-Learning Management System (e-LMS) using Moodle since early 2021. The main features already implemented in this e-LMS is course details and it should also support the communication process between lecturers and students where currently, the KYP e-LMS lack of. Usually, students will ask the same question to their lecturer in person and cause the lecturer to have to give the same answers repeatedly. This results in a waste of time for both parties in answering and receiving answers. To overcome the problem, there is a need to replace the manual way of getting answers to any kind of academic or course related questions repeatedly. The main objective of the project is to develop an intelligence Chatbot which can help students finding academic related information without the need to ask their instructors or spent more time browsing menus in e-LMS. E-LMS has been developed based on Rational Unified Process (RUP) approach. In this project, the Moodle system is fully implemented by integrating with Kommunicate, one of the Cloud software and Dialog Flow, which is a chatbot plugin system connected with Google Could Platform. An AI Chatbot able to interact with students and can provide answer to students' queries instantly despite of the place, date and time zone of the student as well as enhances interaction which provides a feel of support to the students.

Abstract:
The article discusses the materials of the Early Upper Paleolithic sites of Zaozer’e, Garchi I and Byzovaya situated in the northeast of the East European plain and on the Urals (58—67°N; 50—60°E), in the Pechora and Upper Kama river basins. In this region, two episodes of initial human occupation are recognizable. The first (Zaozer’e site, 35—33 kyr BP) may represent the earliest penetration of anatomically modern humans into the north of Europe, while the second one (Garchi I and Byzovaya sites, ca. 29 kyr BP) can be associated with the migration of some Streletskian populations to the northeast of the European continent. The available ecidence seems to indicate the cultural and chronological unity in the development of Paleolithic culture in the center and the northeast of the East European plain and on the Urals in the first half of the Upper Palaeolithic.

Abstract:
Daptomycin is a 13 amino acid, cyclic lipopeptide produced by a non-ribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) mechanism in Streptomyces roseosporus. A 128 kb region of S. roseosporus DNA was cloned and verified by heterologous expression in Streptomyces lividans to contain the daptomycin biosynthetic gene cluster (dpt). The cloned region was completely sequenced and three genes (dptA, dptBC, dptD) encoding the three subunits of an NRPS were identified. The catalytic domains in the subunits, predicted to couple five, six or two amino acids, respectively, included a novel activation domain and amino-acid-binding pocket for incorporating the unusual amino acid l-kynurenine (Kyn), three types of condensation domains and an extra epimerase domain (E-domain) in the second module. Novel genes (dptE, dptF) whose products likely work in conjunction with a unique condensation domain to acylate the first amino acid, as well as other genes (dptI, dptJ) probably involved in supply of the non-proteinogenic amino acids l-3-methylglutamic acid and Kyn, were located next to the NRPS genes. The unexpected E-domain suggested that daptomycin would have d-Asn, rather than l-Asn, as originally assigned, and this was confirmed by comparing stereospecific synthetic peptides and the natural product both chemically and microbiologically.

Abstract:
Asthma is a prevalent respiratory disease. The present study is designed to determine whether gut microbiota-derived tryptophan metabolites alleviate allergic asthma inflammation in ovalbumin (OVA)-induced mice and explore the effect and potential mechanism therein. Asthma model mice were constructed by OVA treatment, and kynurenine (KYN), indole-3-lactic acid (ILA), in-dole-3-carbaldehyde (I3C), and indole acetic acid (IAA) were administered by intraperitoneal injection. The percent survival, weight and asthma symptom score of mice were recorded. The total immunoglobulin E and OVA-specific (s)IgE in the serum and the inflammatory cytokines in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) were detected by the corresponding ELISA kits. The composition of the gut microbiota and tryptophan-targeted metabolism in mouse feces were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and targeted metabolomics, respectively. The four tryptophan metabolites improved the percent survival, weight and asthma symptoms of mice, and reduced the inflammatory cells in lung tissues, especially I3C. I3C and IAA significantly (p < 0.05) downregulated the levels of OVA-IgE and inflammatory cytokines. KYN was observed to help restore gut microbiota diversity. Additionally, I3C, KYN, and ILA increased the relative abundance of Anaeroplasma, Akkermansia, and Ruminococcus_1, respectively, which were connected with tryptophan metabolic pathways. IAA also enhanced capability of tryptophan metabolism by the gut microbiota, restoring tryptophan metabolism and increasing production of other tryptophan metabolites. These findings suggest that tryptophan metabolites may modulate asthma through the gut microbiota, offering potential benefits for clinical asthma management.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT ‘Arabian Orbital Stratigraphy’ (AROS) is an R&D program aimed at dating Arabia’s transgressive-regressive (T-R) depositional sequences using the ‘Orbital Scale’ of Matthews and Al-Husseini (2010). The scale consists of time-rock units named ‘orbitons’, ‘dozons’ and ‘stratons’ that are tuned by orbital-forcing of glacio-eustasy. Orbitons have durations of 14.58 million years (Myr), and are bounded by regional sequence boundaries (SB, hiatus, unconformity, disconformity, lowstand deposits). Orbiton 1 was deposited between SB 1 at 16.166 million years before present (Ma) and SB 0 (zero) at 1.586 Ma. The interval between SB 0 and the Precambrian/Cambrian Boundary (PCB) consists of 37 orbitons; at least 30 can be identified in Arabia based on published data. SB 37 is predicted at 541.046 Ma (1.586 + 37 × 14.58 Myr), and correlates to the PCB, calibrated in Oman at 541.0 Ma. An orbiton consists of 36 stratons. Stratons are T-R sequences that tracked the long-eccentricity orbital cycle (E-cycle). The age of base Straton 1 is 0.371 Ma. Their durations can range between about 300 thousand years (Kyr) and 550 Kyr, but average 405 Kyr over several million years. The Phanerozoic Era consists of 1,336 stratons that are typically referred to as 4th-order sequences or cycle sets. Approximately 200 stratons are identified in this paper, and tentatively dated in the Orbital Scale. An orbiton also consists of three dozons, which are generally bounded by regional SBs. Dozons typically consist of 12 stratons (4.86 Myr). Examples of dozons are illustrated in this paper for the Permian–Triassic in Arabia. AROS predicts ages for Arabian and global T-R sequences that are deterministic, and they may be more accurate than those estimated by the Geological Time Scale GTS 2015. The paper proposes that the global T-R sequences should be recast in terms of stratons (E-cycles), and that stratons be used to calibrate biostratigraphy, magneto-stratigraphy and other global stratigraphic markers in future GTSs.

Abstract:
BackgroundIDO-1 inhibitors have shown antitumor activity in combination with immunotherapeutic agents in multiple cancers. KHK2455 is a novel and selective oral IDO-1 inhibitor. KHK2455 inhibits IDO-1 apo-enzyme, with long-lasting and potent activity. Mogamulizumab is an anti-C-C chemokine receptor 4 (CCR4) monoclonal antibody that has shown synergy with KHK2455 in preclinical models. Mogamulizumab is approved in the US and EU for treatment of mycosis fungoides and Sézary syndrome.MethodsIn this first-in-human study, patients with advanced solid tumors received escalating oral doses of KHK2455 alone (0.3, 1, 3, 10, 30 and 100 mg once daily) for 4 weeks (Cycle 0), followed by combination with 1 mg/kg weekly of IV mogamulizumab for 4 weeks (Cycle 1), and then on Days 1 and 15 (from Cycle 2 onward) in a standard 3+3 Phase I design. Safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and IDO activity (kynurenine [Kyn] and tryptophan [Trp] levels and ex vivo Kyn production) were evaluated.ResultsThirty-six patients were enrolled across all cohorts. One patient with lower esophageal cancer in the 100 mg cohort exhibited dose-limiting toxicity (Grade 3 gastrointestinal necrosis). The most frequent (≥10%) treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) are presented in table 1. Overall numbers of TEAEs, ≥Grade 3 TEAEs, and serious TEAEs related to KHK2455 and mogamulizumab are presented in table 2. Serious KHK2455-related TEAEs included gastrointestinal necrosis (KHK2455 monotherapy), and nausea and drug eruption (combination therapy). In addition, five drug-related TEAEs in combination therapy led to discontinuation; there were no fatal outcomes related to either study drug. Plasma KHK2455 concentrations reached steady state by Day 8 (Cycle 0) and increased dose-dependently. Potent dose-dependent inhibition of IDO activity was demonstrated by plasma Kyn concentration and Kyn/Trp ratio (median inhibition 70.5% and 70.8%, respectively, at 100 mg dose on Day 15, compared to baseline) and ex vivo Kyn production (>95% inhibition at ≥10 mg KHK2455), confirming target modulation. Six of 26 evaluable patients from all dosing groups achieved durable disease stabilization (≥6 months, RECIST 1.1), and one patient with bevacizumab-resistant glioblastoma demonstrated confirmed partial response (43.5% tumor reduction over a 2-year observation period). Median overall survival was 13.4 months, with 30% of subjects surviving for 2 years or longer (figure 1).Abstract 287 Table 1Study 2455-001: Treatment-Emergent Adverse Events (≥10% by Preferred Term)Abstract 287 Table 2Abstract 287 Figure 1Study 2455-001: Overall SurvivalConclusionsKHK2455 in combination with mogamulizumab was well-tolerated and manageable at all doses tested, suppressed Kyn production in a dose-dependent and sustained manner, and demonstrated signals of antitumor activity.

Abstract:
Abstract HAWC J1826−128 is one of the brightest Galactic TeV γ-ray sources detected by the High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) observatory, with photon energies extending up to nearly ∼100 TeV. This HAWC source spatially coincides with the H.E.S.S. TeV source HESS J1826−130 and the “Eel” pulsar wind nebula (PWN), which is associated with the GeV pulsar PSR J1826−1256. In the X-ray band, Chandra and XMM-Newton revealed that the Eel PWN is composed of both a compact nebula (∼15″) and diffuse X-ray emission (∼6′ × 2′) extending away from the pulsar. Our NuSTAR observation detected hard X-ray emission from the compact PWN up to ∼20 keV and evidence of the synchrotron burn-off effect. In addition to the spatial coincidence between HESS J1826−130 and the diffuse X-ray PWN, our multiwavelength spectral energy distribution (SED) analysis using X-ray and γ-ray data establishes a leptonic origin of the TeV emission associated with the Eel PWN. Furthermore, our evolutionary PWN SED model suggests (1) a low PWN B-field of ∼1 μG, (2) a significantly younger pulsar age (t ∼ 5.7 kyr) than the characteristic age (τ = 14.4 kyr), and (3) a maximum electron energy of E max = 2 PeV. The low B-field, as well as the putative supersonic motion of the pulsar, may account for the asymmetric morphology of the diffuse X-ray emission. Our results suggest that the Eel PWN may be a leptonic PeVatron particle accelerator powered by the ∼6 kyr old pulsar PSR J1826−1256 with a spin-down power of 3.6 × 1036 erg s−1.
